The car loss compression in the middle of driving. Try to crank it but it drains the battery. Also, I bought the car a year the buy here pay here company ripped out the lemon law page for Tennessee but kept the other pages in.
Engine frequently stalls while driving. I've had my car shut off while I'm driving many times, the steering wheel and brakes lock up and it makes it hard to get off the street to safety. This happens a LOT. It is very dangerous and scary. I get anxiety everytime I drive because I'm scared of it happening again. My car once turned off in the middle of a busy intersection while trying to turn. It came on after about 45 seconds but it was terrifying. Battery often dies (just replaced it). Horn would go off randomly without stopping for a long time. I had to disconnect the horn (on both sides) because it would keep randomly going off with no way to stop it. Cruise control stopped working one day. Sometimes it comes up when I press cruise control but it turns off when I try setting a speed. Drivers window broke inside, I think something snapped inside the door. I've had it replaced 3 times but it keeps breaking. A/C makes an awful grinding noise sometimes, but it goes away if I turn the A/C off then back on. Also with the A/C, a door or something inside the dash will get stuck every so often and it makes a LOUD clicking like noise but it goes away after about 20 seconds (something to do with the actuator?). Brake light will come on sometimes when I stop. It goes away shortly after I start driving again. ABS light has been on my dash for a few months now. Most of these issues have been happening for over a year now. Most of this shows up under a recall from 2008, ELECTRICAL SYSTEM: WIRING. It doesn't show up under my VIN number but I'm having the same exact problems.
I was on my way to work. All the warning light appeared on my dash. Then all the warning light, radio, speedometer gage and all head light and tail lights went out. I was driving in the dark. My engine bogged down no power. I was barley moving. I replaced the battery no difference. I replaced the alternator worked for 3 minutes and then the car was back to the same as before. I contacted a nearby mechanic facility they told me that it was most definitely the fuse panel under the hood. That's its not a recall but a lawsuit replacement. I notified the manufacturer and they told me my Vin number was not under recall. I'm confused on what to do not. I'm in no way able to purchase a new vehicle at this time. Nor spend hundreds or thousands in repairs. Please help.
purchased may 15th.and now car sits in my apartment parking lot as a roadblock for all tenants since May 27th. 2008sebring started fine.drove 2 miles roundtrip, vehicle ride was rough upon turning into residence thankfully I was not on the street in traffic when the car decided to stop ,the windows were down I still have not been able to get them rolled up .lights instrument panel lights went haywire flashing,ding chime sound continuous. the backdash illuminate light has never worked. wont accept jump from cables,has power in areas under hood, charged to 12v on charger able to get code (DTC-U1403 implausible fuel level signal. Just like the recall of the wiring issue it's similar. The week this happened the tire pressure indicator in the lower left corner of Dash was lit up and the cruise control light would come on but when engaged it would not drive at the limit set only reduce is speed the stereo CD changer didn't work I thought it was just because it was old the cigarette lighter which I used for my power source the light on that device would flicker in and out showing it wasn't getting a good connection the key would get stuck in the ignition or do a continuous storage where you it would not spring back as it should you'd have to turn it off and then try to restart it the battery in the fob work just fine before all of this took place now the battery is dead in the fob as well. it won't hold a charge I want to know how it's going to get fixed and with whose money?? $95 for Diagnostic.while covering windows later that night,I was able to see a dim red light where the tire pressure indicator was lit up at the fuses are fine the battery is 6 months old but it is constantly draining I it won't stay charged I can't get it out of gear it to put it in neutral to move it anywhere. Main purpose was to get me to my doctor appointments now I can't even do that& I haven't been able to do that.. i think this recall has Revisited. its unsafe
In February 2021 my car wouldn’t stop, tried to give it a jump and it still wouldn’t start. Replaced the battery and it started working again. In April 2021 my engine light came on. I got a diagnostic and the error code read: P2016 Intake Manifold Runner Position Sensor/Switch Circuit Low Bank 1. I didn’t get it fixed. Shortly after, I began hearing a faint crackling noise and noticed when I would drive on turn pikes my a red brake symbol would briefly pop up on my dash board and then go away. In May 2021 my horn stopped working and front right turn signal light stopped working. I tried to get a new one installed it wouldn’t work. I was told it could be an electrical issue. In July 2021 my right low beam head light stopped working. I tried to get a new bulb installed and it still wouldn’t work. At this time I was told the same thing, that it seems like there may be an electrical issue. This month, November 2021, a few days ago on Monday November 1st, I began noticing an acceleration issue in the morning. I would press the accelerator and it wouldn’t pick up until a few seconds later, it was like a delay. Later that day while I was driving on the free way a red flash symbol with lines between it began flashing on my car and my car wouldn’t drive over 20 mph. I pulled over. Shortly after I turned my car back on and it began driving semi normal and I was able to get home. I tried out my car the next day and in the morning the same thing happened again. The red flash symbol with 2 lines on the side of it began flashing on my dashboard and my car wouldn’t go over 20 mph. I’m not sure what the issue is but when I looked up what the red flashing symbol, I noticed a few others who had a similar experience with their 2008 Chrysler Sebring which made me want to look up whether there was a recall and I found out there was but when I searched whether my car was eligible through my VIN number it said there was none unrepaired.
The contact owns a 2008 Chrysler Sebring. The contact stated that while driving approximately 60 MPH, the vehicle suddenly stalled. The contact waited for a while for the vehicle to cool off before being able to operate the vehicle as intended. The check engine warning light was illuminated. The contact had taken the vehicle to a certified mechanic who replaced the alternator, battery, and TIPM however, the failure continued. The manufacturer was not made aware of the failure. My TPS light has been on for quite some time and after a short time since the first time it appeared my issue worsens everyday. My car STALLS, not only when I am stopped at a light, but even when I am driving at high speeds and the Check Engine light stays on all the time and blinks and dings at times and now the airbag light is on as well and blinks and dings all the time while the car is started. I took the car to get check for error codes, but none come up when the diagnostics is ran.
AT ANY GIVEN MOMENT LOSS OF POWER WILL OCCUR AND MOTOR WILL SHUT OFF. ANYTIME ON THE FREEWAY OR PARKED. OCCASIONALLY AT RANDOM INTERVALS CAR WILL CRANK BUT NOT TURN OVER UNTIL AFTER REPEATED ATTEMPTS TO START IT WILL TURN OVER APPROPRIATELY.

MY CAR CRANKS AND STARTS, THEN DIES ABOUT 2 SECONDS LATER. AFTER SEVERAL TRIES, IT USUALLY STARTS. HOWEVER, I HAVE HAD IT INTO A CHRYSLER DEALER TWICE WITHOUT THEM FINDING ANYTHING WRONG. IT USUALLY DECIDES TO RUN JUST FINE WHILE IN THE SHOP. IT WILL OFTEN GO FOR A FEW MONTHS, THEN START REPEATING THIS SCENARIO. THIS HAS BEEN ON-GOING FOR ABOUT A YEAR.

I TOOK THE VEHICLE AFTER PURCHASE TO THE SHOP TO LOOK OVER AND SELLER AGREED THAT HE WOULD COVER THE COST FOR "SENSOR" ISSUE AS HE STATED! THE CAR NEEDS A CAMSHAFT AND DUE TO THE AGE OF THE VEHICLE THE MECHANIC STATED IF THAT PART IS REPLACED IT WILL POSSIBLY NEED A TRANSMISSION AS WELL AS A NEW ENGINE. THEREFORE THE REPAIRS WOULD EXCEED THE VALUE OF THE VEHICLE OR NOT WORK AT ALL AND WASTE ALL THAT MONEY. CAR HAD ISSUES STARTING FROM DAY 1 TOO.
MY 2008 CHRYSLER SEBRING HAS BEEN IN THE SHOP SINCE NOVEMBER 9, 2019. DEFECTIVE TIPM. THE STARTER HAS CAUGHT FIRE 3 TIMES. VEHICLE STALLS OUT AND LEAVES YOU IN THE MIDDLE OF THE ROAD. BATTERY HAS BEEN REPLACED. IGNITION SWITCH IS GETTING HOT WHEN KEYS ARE IN AND THE KEY GETS STUCK IN IGNITION. TIPM WAS REPLACED. CAR IS STILL NOT RUNNING DUE TO DEALERSHIP NOT KNOWING WHAT NEW PARTS TO TRY. HAVE ALSO HAD SEVERAL PROBLEMS WITH COOLING SYSTEMS/FAN NOT WORKING PROPERLY.

3 SEPERATE BUT RELATED EVENTS. MY HORN BEGAN HONKING AT RANDOM TIMES, EVENTUALLY I COULD NOT TURN IT OFF WHILE IN MY PARKING GARAGE AT WORK. ENDED UP REMOVING BATTERY CONNECTION TO STOP THE HONKING. WHEN I ARRIVED HOME I DISCONNECTED THE HORNS. MY WIPERS RANDOMLY DO NOT WORK. I'VE HAD TO RELY ON RAINX. SOMETIMES THEY WORK AND OTHER TIMES I CANT TURN THEM OFF. THEY SOMETIMES STOP IN THE MIDDLE OF THE WINDOW. LAST ISSUE WAS COMPLETE LOSS OF POWER WHILE DRIVING AT 70MPH. LUCKILY I WAS ABLE TO PULL OVER. STRANGE THING WAS IT STARTED RIGHT BACK UP. BUT 10 MILES LATER THE SAME THING HAPPENED. BASED ON THESE 3 THINGS HAPPENING WITHIN THE LAST MONTH I THINK IT IS PART OF THE TIPM MODULE. MANY COMPLAINTS AND THIS ITEM IS PART OF A CLASS ACTION LAW SUIT AND A VOLUNTARY RECALL FOR OTHER CHRYSLER VEHICLE IN THE SAME YEAR RANGE AS MY VEHICLE.

WHEN I TURN THE STEERING WHEEL THE STEERING WHEEL SHAKES REALLY BAD UNTIL I BRING THE STEERING BACK INTO REGULAR POSITION. THE SEAT BELT SIGN GOES OFF CONTINUALLY AFTER I'M BUCKLED UP, CAR ENGINE SHUTS OFF WHILE CAR IS IDLING AT A RED LIGHT, CAR JUMPS WHILE SITTING AT A RED LIGHT.

I PURCHASED THIS VEHICLE USED LAST NOVEMBER FROM A PRIVATE SELLER. SINCE THEN I HAVE HAD TO REPLACE THE AIRBAG CLOCK SPRING, BATTERY CABLES, AND NOW I AM EXPERIENCING PROBLEMS WITH MY WINDOWS AND COOLANT TEMPERATURE SENSOR. MY PASSENGER SIDE WINDOW HAS FALLEN INTO THE DOOR SEVERAL TIMES DO TO A FAULTY TRACK. MY DRIVER SIDE WINDOW HAS COMPLETELY STOPPED WORKING DO TO A FAULTY BUTTON. AND LASTLY, MY COOLANT TEMPERATURE SENSOR FAILED ON ME 2 MONTHS AGO. I CANNOT DRIVE ANY FURTHER THAN A MILE WITHOUT MY CAR REDLINING. I CHECKED FOR A LEAK IN MY HOSES AND SEALS AND HAVE FOUND NOTHING. MY ANTIFREEZE RESERVOIR BURNS SO HOT IT ACTUALLY EVAPORATES THE ANTIFREEZE. I HAVE GONE THROUGH 6 FULL SIZE BOTTLES OF ANTIFREEZE IN A 2 MONTHS PERIOD. I HAVE A NOTICEABLY HIGH IDLE WHENEVER THE CAR STARTS TO GET THE BELOW THE FULL LINE AND NOW I HAVE AN ENGINE PING. THE OVERHEAT ISSUE OCCURS WHENEVER IT DECIDES IT WANTS TO. MY DASHBOARD DISPLAY GOES IN AND OUT INTERMITTENTLY AND MY WINDSHIELD WIPERS TURN ON AT RANDOM WHENEVER I USE MY SIGNAL TO MAKE A LEFT TURN. THIS VEHICLE IS FULL OF ELECTRICAL PROBLEMS THAT I CANNOT AFFORD TO FIX. THE TRUTH IS, I PURCHASED THIS VEHICLE WITH THE SMALL CUT OF LIFE INSURANCE MONEY I GOT THE MY MOTHER PASSED AWAY. I AM DISABLED AND THIS IS CURRENTLY MY ONLY SOURCE OF TRANSPORTATION. THERE NEEDS TO BE SOME SERIOUS LOOKING INTO THE CHRYSLER SEBRING FROM 2006 ON UP. I CANNOT BE THE ONLY ONE EXPERIENCING THIS MYRIAD OF PROBLEMS.

MAYBE SOMETHING WITH THE FUEL. WHILE CAR IS STOPPED, IT WILL SUDDENLY JUMP. IF I DIDN'T HAVE MY FOOT ON BRAKE THE CAR WOULD TAKE OFF.THE ENGINE SPEEDS UP WITHOUT ME STEPPING ON THE GAS PEDAL. BACKING OUT OF MY DRIVEWAY THE ENGINES SUDDENLY SHUT DOWN BUT RESTARTED WITHOUT AN ISSUE. LATER THAT DAY THE RED WARNING LIGHT CAME ON AND THE ENGINE STARTED TO HAVE NO POWER AND THEN STALED I WAS ABLE TO MOVE TO THE SIDE OF THE ROAD AND SAW THE THROTTLE POSITION SENSOR LIGHT WAS ON (WITCH I LOOKED UP IN OWNER MANUAL. WAS ABLE TO GET IT STARTED AGAIN AND DROVE IT TO MY MECHANIC WHO TESTED IT AND SAID I NEEDED A THROTTLE BODY.T HAT WAS REPLACED NOW 4 DAYS LATER I WAS ON A HOV LANE DOING 65 LIGHT CAME ON ENGINE SPUTTERED BUT DIDN'T STALL ARRIVED AT DESTINATION WHEN I GOT BACK IN CAR LIGHT WAS OUT AND CAR STARTED. DRIVING HOME I HAD TO PULL OVER SEVERAL TIMES WHEN LIGHT WAS ILLUMINATED . MY CONCERN IS DRIVING AT HIGHWAY SPEEDS ESPECIALLY WHERE I LIVE THERE ARE LONG TUNNELS I TRAVEL THROUGH HOPEFULLY IT DOESN'T DO THIS TO ANYONE DRIVING THROUGH THEM AND ANYWHERE THAT WOULD DEFINITELY CAUSE A SERIOUS ACCIDENT , THE INITIAL REPAIR TO REPLACE THROTTLE BODY WAS $271 AND AN ADDITIONAL $88 FOR SAME ISSUE NOW THROTTLE PEDAL NEEDS REPLACED COST AT THIS TIME UNKNOWN

THIS CAR IS A DEATHTRAP , AND ACCELERATES AT HIGH SPEEDS AT ANY GIVEN TIME WITHOUT WARNING !!!! COULD DIE OR WIND UP KILLING SOMEONE . I WAS DRIVING AND MY VEHICLE STARTED OVER HEATING AND THEN WOULDN'T RUN. I HAVE PUT W GONE COOLANT IN IT SEVERAL TIME. THE RADIATOR HOSE TOP PART IS COMPLETELY BUSTED. NEEDING A NEW HEAD GASKET, AND WHOLE TOP RADIATOR HOSE NOW. ON TOP OF THAT THE POWER STEERING HOSE IS MESSED UP ALSO. MY CAR WINDOW ALSO DOESN'T WORK. IT'S STUCK ROLLED DOWN BECAUSE OF AN ELECTRICAL PROBLEM. I WANT IT ALL FIXED ASAP. I CAN'T AFFORD THE FIX. I AM A SINGLE PREGNANT MOTHER WHO HAS SEVERAL APPOINTMENTS TO GET TO AND FROM BETWEEN MY DAUGHTER AND I. JUST GOING TO THE STORE FOR FOOD HAS ALMOST BEEN IMPOSSIBLE. OUR CAR WAS RUNNING FINE AND THEN ALL OF A SUDDEN STARTED TO OVER HEAT. FOR A WHILE IT WAS GOING THROUGH COOLANT THOUGHT IT WAS A LEAK BUT THEY DIDNT FIND ONE BUT THEN IT STOPPED USING COOLANT FROM WHAT WE CAN TELL AND IS OVERHEATING WITHIN A FEW BLOCKS. AIR STOPPED WORKING AND EVEN WITH HEAT ON IT OVER HEATS. I SAW A LOT OF COMPLAINTS ABOUT THIS SAME ISSUE ON THESE CARS STARTING WITH THE 1996 MODEL AND THERE WERE RECALLS ON THIS SAME ISSUE ON 07-08 MODELS I WOULD LIKE TO KNOW HOW TO FIX IT. WE TRIED THE THERMOSTAT AND THEY CHECKED OTHER THINGS FOUND NOTHING SO I WENT LOOKING TO SEE IF ONE OF THE RECALLS YOU PUT OUT A FEW YEARS AGO WAS MY CAR MAYBE.

WHILE DRIVING AT A STEADY SPEED, VEHICLE WILL HESITATE WHEN CLIMBING AN INCLIINE OR WHEN I ACCELERATE, THIS IS NOT A STEADY HAPPENING.I HAVE TAKEN IT TO TWO DIFFERENT CHRYSLER DEALERSHIPS TO HAVE IT COMPUTER CHECKED BUT NOTHING SHOWS UP. A YOUNGER MECHANIC AT THE SECOND DEALERSHIP STATED IT SOUNDED TO HIM LIKE POSSIBLY THE CLUTCHES WERE SLIPPING AND CAUSING THE PROBLEM. SINCE IT DOESN'T SHOW UP ON THE COMPUTER HE SUGGESTED THAT I JUST CONTINUE DRIVING UNTIL SUCH TIME AS IT MAY STOP MOVING COMPLETELY AND THEN THE PROBLEM SHOULD BE ABLE TO BE FOUND.

PROBLEM: 2008 CHRYSLER SEBRING ENGINE, TRANSMISSION & ELECTRICAL PROBLEMS. I BEGAN FINANCING IN NOV 2013 FROM TOYOTA OF RIVERSIDE, 1YR AND 3 MONTHS LATER ON FEB 17, 2015 WHILE I WAS EXITING THE FREEWAY, MY ENGINE LIGHT CAME ON, MY CAR COMPLETELY SHUTDOWN, I HAD NO BRAKES, I WAS FEARFUL AND HELD ONTO THE STEERING WHEEL COASTED NEAR AN ARCO STATION. I WAS THANKFUL I DID NOT HIT ANYONE OR HAVE AN ACCIDENT. I CALLED AAA WHO TOWED ME TO TOYOTA OF RIVERSIDE. [XXX] THE SERVICE MANAGER TOLD ME I NEEDED TO REPLACE THE TIMING BELT AND THE ENGINE FOR $1500. IT TOOK ABOUT 3 WEEKS FOR THE ENGINE TO BE REPAIRED, MY CAR WAS RETURNED ON MARCH 12, 2015. HOWEVER, I NOTICED WHEN I RECEIVED MY CAR BACK THE CRUISE CONTROL LEVER NEAR THE STEERING WHEEL WAS HANGING LOOSELY AND WAS NOT ATTACHED. WEEKS, LATER THE ELECTRONIC SPEED CONTROL LIGHT AND THE ENGINE LIGHT CAME ON ALONG WITH PROBLEMS SHIFTING. I SENT PICTURES OF MY ENGINE LIGHT BEING ON FROM MY PHONE TO [XXX] AND [XXX] AND WENT TO SEE [XXX] WHO TOLD ME THE TRANSMISSION NEED REPAIR AND IT WOULD COST $3000 TO $4000." I WENT TO MOSS BROTHERS RIVERSIDE, [XXX] ON 09/17/15 DID A DIAGNOSTIC. HE TOLD ME THERE IS AN AUTO TRANSMISSION SHIFT LEVER RECALL AND A SPRING HOOK RETAINER HE CAN REPLACE FOR FREE. HE ALSO REPLACED A STOP LAMP SWITCH BINDS AND REPROGRAMMED THE PCM FOR $290. I PICKED UP MY CAR ON 9/22/15 IT CONTINUED TO STALL, RETURNED IT TO MOSS BROTHERS [XXX] SAID IT MAY BE A TRANSMISSION PROBLEM BEFORE WE CAN BEGIN WE WILL NEED $1690 UP TO $4480 TO REPAIR IT. IHAD MY CAR TOWED TO MANUEL AUTO CENTER, HE REPLACED MY LEFT TIE RODS FOR $275 IN THE PAST. HE COMPLETED A DIAGNOSTIC, REPLACED SOLENOID PACKAGE FOR $800. HOWEVER, MY DRIVER SIDE WINDOW WOULD NOT ROLL DOWN, ELECTRICAL PROBLEMS AND NEGLIGENCE AT HIS SHOP. HE WAS WILLING TO PAY $275 TO REPAIR. MY CAR IS UNSAFE. MY CAR BOTH IN BOTH PARK/DRIVE WILL SPORADICALLY JUMP IN RPM'S FOR NO REASON. THIS HAS HAPPENED ON 40+ OCCASIONS IN WHICH THE VEHICLE WILL REV FROM 600 RPM'S UP OVER 3500 RPM'S WITHIN A SECOND. I CALLED CHRYSLER AND CHRYSLER STATED THAT THEY HAVE NOT HAVE ANY REPORTS FROM OTHER VEHICLES AND GAVE ME NO SOLUTIONS TO THIS PROBLEM. MY CHECK ENGINE LIGHT IS NOT ON. I MENTIONED TO CHRYSLER THAT I AM AFRAID THAT MY CAR IS GOING TO ONE DAY REV WHILE I AM DRIVING AND I WILL NOT BE ABLE TO CONTROL IT. EACH TIME HAVING TO PULL OFF TO THE SIDE OF THE ROAD AND ATTEMPT FOR IT TO RESTART (DEPENDS ON IF IT WILL OR NOT--USUALLY TAKES IT A WHILE). WILL GET UP TO SPEED AGAIN AND IF I HAVE TO BRAKE FOR ANY REASON OR EVEN SLOW DOWN JUST A LITTLE WITHOUT APPLY THE BRAKES IT CAN COMPLETELY LOOSE POWER. ALSO DO NOT HAVE ANY DASH LIGHTS WHEN THE HEAD LIGHTS ARE TURNED ON. THEY APPEAR IN THE CENTER CONSOLE BUT WENT OUT IN 2009 JUST AFTER I BOUGHT THE CAR, AND AFTER SEVERAL ESTIMATES IN THE THOUSANDS OF DOLLARS IT REMAINS WITH NO LIGHTS (SO IN NO WAY CAN YOU SEE THE SPEED OR ANYTHING ELSE ON THE DASH AFTER DARK.) *TR

ONGOING: AUTO BRIGHTNESS DISPLAY ON RADIO DOES NOT WORK. TOP DOWN ON KEY FOB DOES NOT WORK. WINTER, 2013 STALLED TWICE AT RED LIGHTS, ALSO HAD CLUNKING NOISE WHEN TURNING.
