REPORT OF SUSPICION OF REMOTE CONTROL AND MANIPULATION OF VEHICLE COMPUTER BY UNKNOWN AND UNAUTHORIZED INDIVIDUAL(S). VEHICLE MODULES AND COMPONENTS ARE BEING DESABLED, ACTIVATED MAKING STARTING IMPOSSIBLE AND DRIVING UNSAFE. BATTERY IS BEING DISCHARGED, LIGHT BEING TURNED ON, ETC... THANK YOU FOR ASSISTANCE
while recall being done they caused malfunction and have not fixed problem recall not completed and they have reported it was completed.
2008 CHRYSLER TOWN AND COUNTRY. CONSUMER WRITES IN REGARDS TO PARTS BEING UNAVAILABLE TO PERFORM SAFETY RECALLS.
R03 recall was performed on my van. I do not remember the date. And recently the WIN stopped working correctly ... HELP. Will not start car. Remote start works but WIN is not working.
The A/C lines that go to the rear are defective. It wouldn't be such a big problem but, it causes all the A/C components to not work/fail. We had our children in the rear and had no A/C in the worst traffic backup for hrs. It gets entirely too hot back there even with the windows open. Our mechanic looked up parts needed for this repair and informed us that the parts were on national back order. So he told us that it is indeed a common problem and it is definitely a major safety concern.!! There were no warning's, messages, or symptoms before this failure occurred.
My van stop when I put break while stop any signal, sensor shows that passenger seat is unbelted, ignition key and that system giving me hard time to turn on/off, and also doesn’t work properly. d
Out of the blue, my passenger rear sliding door on my 2008 minivan stopped responding to my key fob and the overhead button to open or close. There have been times it's been stuck in the locked position making my children either going out the other door and even climbing over to the front seat to get out. It is available for inspection upon request and as I have never taken it in to get looked at, the problem has not been reproduced or confirmed. It has not been inspected by anyone. Prior to this failing, there were no warning lamps or messages given off by the vehicle.
My van has a failing TIPM and apparently this is a common thing with these vans. It causes the horn to sound, wipers to start even when the vehicle is parked with no one in it and the engine off. It also causes the vehicle to shut off the fuel pump causing the vehicle to shut off while driving. Chrysler is well aware of this and refuses to issue a recall, even though this is something that happens to many of their 2008 vehicles.
I HAVE A 2008 CHRYSLER TOWN & COUNTRY MINIVAN THAT IS IN MINT CONDITION. I BROUGHT MY VAN TO A DEALERSHIP FOR A REPAIR. THERE WAS ALSO A RECALL FOR THE DRIVER SIDE AIRBAG. THE ISSUE IS 14 PEOPLE HAVE BEEN INJURED BY THE PLASTIC EMBLEM THAT HAS BECOME LOOSE AND CAN BECOME A PROJECTILE IN THE EVENT OF AIRBAG DEPLOYMENT. THE TECH SAID THE RECALL HAS THEM REMOVE THE EMBLEM ON THE STEERING WHEEL AND THEY DON'T REPLACE IT WITH ANYTHING. MOST PEOPLE DECLINE IT BECAUSE THEY DON'T LIKE THE WAY IT LOOKS. I TOLD HIM I DID NOT WANT THIS RECALL PERFORMED ON MY CAR UNTIL CHRYSLER HAS A BETTER FIX. UNFORTUNATELY, THE TECH FORGOT TO TAKE THE WORK ORDER FOR THE RECALL OFF IN THE COMPUTER AND THEY REMOVED THE EMBLEM ANYWAY. ALSO SCRATCHED THE LEATHER ON THE STEERING WHEEL WHEN THEY WERE PRYING THE EMBLEM OFF. YOU CAN IMAGINE MY HORROR WHEN I PICKED MY CAR UP AND FOUND THAT A DECORATIVE TRIM PIECE WAS RIPPED OFF. NO REPLACEMENT OF ANY KIND, JUST AN OPEN GAPE WITH HOLES WHERE THE EMBLEM USED TO BE ON THE STEERING WHEEL. VERY NOTICEABLE!! THIS IS UNACCEPTABLE AND I WANT TO PUT IT OUT THERE THAT CHRYSLER LIED IN THEIR PRESS RELEASE ON JULY 14, 2020. THIS IS WHAT THEY SAID...CHRYSLER WILL NOTIFY OWNERS, AND DEALERS WILL REPLACE THE DRIVER'S AIR BAG COVER WITH A REDESIGNED COVER, FREE OF CHARGE.. AT THIS TIME THERE IS NO FIX! THERE IS NO REDESIGNED COVER! DON"T HAVE A RECALL IF YOU DON'T HAVE A FIX FOR DAMAGE TO YOUR CUSTOMERS CAR! CALLED CHRYSLER AND THEY STILL HAVE NO FIX FOR THIS. WHAT! WAY TO STICK IT TO YOUR CUSTOMERS! THEY DON'T HAVE ANY MORE LAWSUITS BUT LEAVE THE CAR OWNER WITH DAMAGE TO THEIR CAR. WHAT IF I WANTED TO SELL MY CAR? THIS DEVALUES IT! THANKS CHRYSLER!! HE BELIEVES IT HAS TO DO WITH THE WIRING IN SLIDING DOOR, WHICH DOES HAVE A RECALL BUT NOT FOR MY PARTICULAR VAN. IF MY 2008 TOWN AND COUNTRY COULD ALSO CATCH FIRE AT THE WIRING HARNESS, IT NEEDS TO BE INCLUDED IN THE RECALL. AFTER A WHILE IT STARTS AGAIN BUT IN ABOUT 2,000 METERS DO THE SAME FOUR TIMES. WE NEED TO CALL A TRUCK CRANE. DIDN'T KNOW IF FIRE WAS INSIDE DOOR AND WAS PARKED BY GARAGE SO CALLED 911 TO PUT OUT POTENTIAL FIRE. CONCERNED THAT THERE WAS ELECTRICAL PROBLEM SO CONTINUED TO PARK CAR IN STREET NOT CLOSE TO HOUSE. CALLED CHRYSLER CUSTOMER SERVICE AND THEY SAID THEY WOULD SEND AN INVESTIGATOR DUE TO CONCERN OF FIRE. DEALER SAID PROBLEM WAS DUE TO A BROKEN DOOR LATCH AND MECHANICAL ASSEMBLY MECHANISM NEEDED TO BE REPLACED IN ADDITION TO DOOR HANDLE FOR $1200, BUT DIDN'T WANT TO GET WORK DONE UNTIL I GOT THE INFORMATION FROM THE INVESTIGATION. ABOUT 3 WEEKS LATER GOT A LETTER FROM CHRYSLER SPECIAL INVESTIGATIONS. THEY SAID DUE TO THE AGE AND MILEAGE OF MY VEHICLE, THERE ARE A NUMBER OF FACTORS OUTSIDE THE MANUFACTURER'S CONTROL THAT COULD HAVE BEEN CONTRIBUTED TO YOUR INCIDENT. *DT UPDATED 10/30/18*JB

ONLY AFTER THE RECALLS WERE ADDRESSED DID THE TROUBLE BEGIN. NOW, IT SPORADICALLY WILL NOT RECOGNIZE EITHER KEY FOB. WAIT A WHILE AND TRY TO CRANK IT AND IT STARTS BACK UP. TODAY, 100 MILES FROM HOME WITH 4 SMALL CHILDREN AS PASSENGERS, IT DECIDED TO HAVE A FIT AT THE GAS PUMP AND NOT START. CALLED ROAD SIDE ASSISTANCE AND WAITED FOR THEM TO ARRIVE JUST IN TIME FOR VAN TO DECIDE IT WANTED TO CRANK AGAIN. CRANKED IT UP AND TRIED TO PARK IT AT A FRIENDS HOUSE CLOSE BY. DETECTED WHAT SEEMED LIKE SURGES WITH THE FUEL PUMP WHILE TRYING TO GET THERE. FINALLY GOT TO A STOPPING POINT AND TURNED THE KEY OFF AND THE VAN KEPT RUNNING. THE WIPERS WENT CRAZY AND THE HORN STARTED BLOWING ALL BY ITSELF. IS THIS VEHICLE POSSESSED BY THE DEVIL OR WHAT? IT IS NOT SAFE TO DRIVE AND I HAVE NO OTHER CHOICE BUT TO TOW IT BACK TO THE DEALERSHIP. I DON'T KNOW IF ANYONE ELSE HAS THE SAME PROBLEM BUT I SAY THIS VEHICLE IS UNSAFE! (ALL AT THE SAME TIME) THIS WOULD RANDOMLY HAPPEN AT ALL TIMES DAY OR NIGHT, IN ALL TYPES OF WEATHER (COLD, WARM, WET, DRY) AND AT VARIOUS SPEEDS AND VARIOUS DRIVING TERRAINS(BOTH CITY STREETS AND HIGHWAYS). AFTER DRIVING AT NIGHT AND HAVING HEADLIGHTS FLASHING OFF AND ON WHILE EVERYTHING LIGHTING UP AND TURNING ON AND OFF (EXTREMELY DANGEROUS) WE LEFT AT DEALERSHIP FOR OVER A WEEK AND ALSO SHOWED THEM A VIDEO THAT WE TOOK OF THE CAR GOING HAYWIRE. THEY HOWEVER, COULD NOT DIAGNOSE PROBLEM. THEY SAID ALL THEY KNEW WAS THAT WHEN THIS HAPPENS THE VEHICLE IS ACTUALLY TRYING TO SHUT ITSELF OFF AND THAT THE COMPUTER WAS RESETTING ITSELF TO AVOID THE ENGINE TURNING OFF. ON 3/7/16, 3 DAYS FOLLOWING THE RECALL REPAIR FOR THE WIN MODULE WE HAD DONE ON 3/4/16, AFTER STARTING THE CAR AND BEGINNING TO DRIVE IN MY CHURCH PARKING LOT, ALL OF THE DASH LIGHTS LIT UP, THE CAR STARTED CHIMING AS IF I DIDN'T HAVE MY SEATBELT ON, THE WIPERS ENGAGED, AND THE MPH AND RPM GAUGES DROPPED TO ZERO. IT CONTINUALLY REPEATED. I ATTEMPTED TO PULL INTO A PARKING SPACE, TURN OFF AND REMOVED KEY FROM IGNITION. RESTARTED CAR, AND PROBLEM PERSISTED. I REPEATED THIS AGAIN WITH THE PROBLEM STILL PERSISTING. I PULLED INTO A GAS STATION, TURNED CAR OFF, REMOVED KEY, AND EXITED VEHICLE. WHEN I RESTARTED THE CAR THE PROBLEM HAD STOPPED. TWO DAYS LATER ON 3/8/16 I STARTED MY CAR FOR WORK AND AS SOON AS I PUT THE CAR IN REVERSE THE SAME PROBLEM STARTED. SHUT THE CAR OFF, REMOVED KEY, AND RESTARTED... STILL OCCURRING. SHUT THE CAR OFF, REMOVED KEY, EXITED VEHICLE, RESTARTED, STILL OCCURRING... I PROCEEDED TO DRIVE DOWN THE ROAD AFTER EXITING MY DRIVEWAY AND TOOK A VIDEO OF THIS PROBLEM REPEATING CONTINUALLY UNTIL A MILE DOWN THE ROAD, I PULLED OVER INTO AN EMPTY PARKING LOT, SHUT THE CAR OFF, REMOVED KEY, OPENED AND SHUT THE DOOR, AND LET IT SIT FOR 3-5 MINUTES BEFORE RESTARTING, AND THE PROBLEM NO LONGER OCCURRED. MY HUSBAND CALLED THE DEALERSHIP, GREENWOOD AUTO IN CORTLAND, OH TO TELL THEM WHAT WAS HAPPENING, AND ALL THEY SAID THAT IT WASN'T FROM THEM REPAIRING THE WIN MODULE. I FIND THIS EXTREMELY UNSAFE, AND HARD TO BELIEVE THIS IS JUST A COINCIDENCE AS THIS HAS NEVER HAPPENED BEFORE PRIOR TO HAVING THE RECALL REPAIR DONE. I DO NOT HAVE PICTURES BUT I DO HAVE A VIDEO. WHEN I ORIGINALLY PURCHASED THE VAN THERE WAS NO MENTION OF A REMOTE STARTER IN THE DESCRIPTION, NO "FOBS" CAME WITH IT AND I DIDN'T ADD ONE. I AM TOLD THAT OVER 60% OF THE VEHICLES IN THE RECALL HAVE REMOTE STARTERS. AND IF THEY ARE ALL IN THE SAME BOAT AS I AM, THEY WILL HAVE TO FORK OUT CASH TO HAVE A "FREE" RECALL COMPLETED. I BELIEVE CHRYSLER SHOULD HAVE, AT THE VERY LEAST, NOTED THE ADDITIONAL CONSUMER COST IN THE THE RECALL LETTER IF THEY WERE NOT GOING TO COVER IT. HOWEVER, I DO NOT SEE HOW THEY ARE NOT RESPONSIBLE FOR THE FULL COST. OBVIOUSLY I WANT SAFETY FOR MY FAMILY SO I PAID THE COST TO HAVE THIS REPAIR COMPLETED. I GOT IN THE VAN AND IT WOUL NOT START. I CONTINUED TO TURN THE FOBIK UNTIL IT STARTED. I DROVE THE VAN TO CHRYSLER DEALER IN COLLIERVILLE TENNESSEE. THEY INSTALLED A WIN KIT. I DROVE IT HOME AND HAD VARIOUS ELECTRICAL PROBLEMS. THE WIPERS AND LIGHTS WOULD COME ON AUTOMATICALLY. I TOOK THE VAN BACK TO THE SAME DALER. THEY REPLACED THE TIPM. I TOOK IT HOME AAGAIN TO DISCOVER THE VAN TO HAVE THE ORIGINAL PROBLEM ALONG WITH THE ELECTRICAL PROBLEMS. MY VAN HAS BEEN IN THE SHOP APPROXIMATELY 2 MONTHS FOR THESE PROBLEMS. IT IS PRESENTLY THERE NOW. I HAVE SPENT A TOTAL OF $1689.61 FOR THESE REPAIRS. I AM NOT GETTING ANY RESULTS.

WE RECEIVED NOTIFICATION ABOUT THE RECALL LAST YEAR, BUT HAVE BEEN TOLD BY TWO DEALERSHIPS ON 4 OCCASIONS THAT THE FIX HASN'T BEEN MANUFACTURED AS YET. WE HAVE RESPONDED TO THE DEALERSHIPS THAT WE ARE CURRENTLY HAVING DIFFICULTY WITH THE FOB, AS IT OFTEN WILL NOT RELEASE FROM THE IGNITION WHEN THE CAR IS SHUT OFF. I RECEIVED A RECALL NOTICE FROM CHRYSLER LAST FALL. THE NHTSA WEBSITE DATED THE RECALL 6/16/11 AND THEN IT WAS EXPANDED 6/26/14 TO INCLUDE MY VEHICLE WITH LETTERS BEING SENT TO OWNERS 9/11/14. AS OF TODAY, THE PROBLEM HAS NOT BEEN FIXED BY CHRYSLER. I HAVE CALLED THEM TWICE AND BEEN ON HOLD FOR OVER 30 MINUTES EACH TIME AND NOT SPOKEN TO ANYONE! THE KEY PHOBE GETS STUCK IN THE IGNITION AND WONT TURN ALL THE WAY OFF AND TODAY I PUT THE KEY IN AND THE IGNITION WOULD NOT TURN. THIS IS AN ONGOING ISSUE THAT HAS RESULTED IN ME BEING STRANDED UNTIL THE IGNITON DECIDES TO WORK.
I HAVE HAD SEVERAL PROBLEMS WITH THE 2008 CHRYSLER MINIVAN. ELECTRICAL, ENGINE, IGNITION, ETC. I EVEN HAD THE ONE DOOR NOT HAVE THE SENSOR GO OFF AND PINCH MY ONE TWINS LEG INTO THE DOOR! OVER THE YEARS, THE IGNITION SWITCH POPS OVER AND STOPS THE CAR COMPLETELY WHILE DRIVING AT INTERMITTENT TIMES. I COULD BE GOING 20 MILES AN HOUR OR ON THE HIGHWAY DRIVING AT A HIGHER RATE OF SPEED. I BOUGHT A BRAND NEW 2008 TOWN AND COUNTRY IN DEC. 2007. FOR FOUR YEARS IT DIDN'T HAVE A PROBLEM EXCEPT FOR THE WHIRRING SOUND. THIS PROBLEM OF TIPM PROBABLY APPEARED ABOUT TWO YEARS AGO WHEN THE VAN SUDDENLY OVERHEATED ALONG THE FREEWAY WHILE DRIVING JUST ABOUT 12 MILES FROM MY HOME. THE SERVICE CENTER SAID THAT THERE WAS A LEAKING HOSE IN THE COOLING SYSTEM BUT I TOLD THEM THAT PRIOR TO THAT THE WIPER JUST STARTED TO MOVE WITHOUT TURNING IT ON. THE SERVICE CENTER APPARENTLY FIXED IT. BUT THE SAME THING HAS BEEN HAPPENING ON AND OFF. ALL THE SERVICE CENTER CAN SAY IS IT IS DRIVABLE. ABOUT TWO MONTHS AGO IT OVERHEATED AGAIN, AND MY WIFE WHO WAS USING THE CAR HAD IT TOWED TO THE CHRYSLER SERVICE CENTER CLOSE TO WHERE THE CAR STALLED. THAT IS THE CARPROS IN RENTON, WASHINGTON, WHO SAID THAT THE PROBLEM AGAIN WAS THE COOLANT SYSTEM HOSE THAT WAS LEAKING, ALSO SOMETHING ABOUT THE TIMING BELT THAT NEEDED TO BE CHANGED, THE CYLINDER HEAD GASKET THAT NEEDED TO BE CHANGED. WHILE I HAVE AN EXTENDED WARRANTY THEY WERE CHARGING TOO MUCH SO I HAD IT TOWED TO THE SERVICE CENTER WHERE I BOUGHT THE CAR. THIS SERVICE CENTER FIXED THE CYLINDER HEAD, GOT THE CAR BACK BUT STILL IT HAS THE SAME PROBLEM OF WINDSHIELD TURNING ON, LIGHTS GOING ON AND OFF IN THE INSTRUMENT PANEL, DINGING SOUND GOING ON AND OFF EVEN WHILE DRIVING, DRIVER SEAT ROCKING BACK AND FORTH. I SENT IT BACK TO THE SERVICE CENTER WHERE I BOUGHT IT FROM AND THIS TIME THEY FINALLY SAID THAT IT IS THE TIPM THAT IS CAUSING THE PROBLEM. CONSUMERS ARE FORCED INTO BUYING A HEATER HOSE AND LINE ASSEMBLY FOR $115. LABOR AND PARTS COST $290.00; THEN OF COURSE, THE REST OF THE HOSES NEED TO BE REPLACED FOR ANOTHER $430 FOR A TOTAL OF $660.00. THIS PLASTIC PIECE IS FAULTY AND COULD CAUSE TERRIBLE DAMAGE.

WHILE DRIVING ALONG AT APPROXIMATELY 45 MPH ON HIGHWAY 158 IN NORTH CAROLINA, THE TIRE PRESSURE WARNING LIGHT CAME ON. BY THE TIME THE VAN COULD BE SAFELY PULLED OVER TO THE SIDE OF THE ROAD AND STOPPED, THE LEFT FRONT TIRE WAS ALMOST COMPLETELY FLAT. THE SPARE TIRE WAS INSTALLED AND WHEN THE FAILED TIRE WAS LAID ON IT'S SIDE THE VALVE STEM/TPM SENSOR FELL INSIDE THE TIRE. THE NEXT DAY THE VAN WAS TAKEN TO THE NEAREST CHRYSLER DEALER FOR REPAIR. THE DEALER STATED THAT THE RETAINING NUT THAT HOLDS THE SENSOR IN PLACE MUST HAVE CRACKED AND ALLOWED THE AIR TO ESCAPE FROM THE TIRE. THE MECHANIC SAID THAT HE HAS SEEN MANY OF THESE FAILURES WHERE THE ALUMINUM RETAINING NUT CRACKS. HE INSPECTED THE OTHER THREE SENSORS AND RECOMMENDED THAT THEY BE REPLACED BEFORE THEY ALSO FAIL. THE DEALER DID NOT HAVE THE NECESSARY PART TO INSTALL A NEW SENSOR AND WOULD HAVE TO ORDER IT. BECAUSE WE WERE ON VACATION AT THE TIME AND COULD NOT WAIT THE TIME TO GET THE PART, THE DEALER INSTALLED A STANDARD VALVE STEM TO GET US HOME. HE ADVISED US THAT THE WARNING LIGHT WOULD REMAIN ON CONSTANTLY UNTIL A PROPER SENSOR WAS INSTALLED. THE DEALER ALSO ADVISED US TO GET THE PROPER SENSOR AS SOON AS WE RETURNED HOME. THIS FAILURE IS A SERIOUS SAFETY ISSUE. WE WERE FORTUNATE THAT WE WERE NOT TRAVELING AT INTERSTATE SPEEDS OR THE OUTCOME COULD HAVE RESULTED IN AN ACCIDENT. CHRYSLER SHOULD BE REQUIRED TO RECALL THESE SENSORS BEFORE SOMEONE IS SERIOUSLY INJURED.

THIS COULD CAUSE LOSS OF CONTROL AND SAFETY FROM BEING STRANDED OR WORSE. THESE NEED TO BE RECALLED AND REPLACED WITH ONES THAT DO NOT CORRODE. AFTER NEW BRAKES AND CALIPERS AGAIN AND BEARINGS REPLACED, AGAIN THIS WAS DONE IN NOVEMBER 2010 CUSTOMER COMPLAINED OF REAR NOISES AS BRAKES STICKING OR SOME PROBLEM WITH BEARINGS THAT WERE REPLACED. DEALER FOUND "NO PROBLEM". 3/11/2011 HOWEVER THE CAR IS STILL MAKING NOISES AND CONCERN FOR SAFETY IS THE ISSUE FOR THE CUSTOMER. ALSO, THE DEFROSTER DO NOT ALWAYS WORK AND CUSTOMER HAS TO SCRAPE THE INSIDE OF THE WINDOW TO SEE OUT. DEALER COULD NOT RE-CREATE. ALSO WHEN IT RAINS OR SLUSH THE UNDERNEATH OF THE CAR BANGS AS IF SOMETHING IS LOOSE. CUSTOMER ASKED DEALERSHIP TO CHECK ALSO ON 3/11/2011 AND STILL THE SAME ANSWER "COULD NOT RE-CREATE" AND FOUND NOTHING. CUSTOMER ASKED TO CHECK BRAKES, BEARINGS, CONVERTER AND DIFFERENTIAL ON 3/11/2011 FOR THE 4TH TIME AND AGAIN NOTHING WAS FOUND. CAR HAS HAD NUMEROUS PROBLEMS FROM DAY ONE INCLUDING THE GEAR SHIFT COMING OFF IN HAND. HOT WHEEL SYNDROME IN 2009 FIXED BUT IS BACK. CUSTOMER GOING ON TRIP AND WANTS THIS DOCUMENTED.

RECALLS K14, K04, K15 RECEIVED THREE RECALLS ON THIS VEHICLE INDICATING APPROX. 3.5 HOURS TO REPAIR. CHRYSLER DEALERSHIP TOLD ME I MAY LOOSE MY CAR FOR TWO DAYS. I CAN'T AFFORD TO BE WITHOUT A CAR FOR TWO DAYS SO I ASKED ABOUT A REPLACEMENT VEHICLE. I WAS INFORMED I WOULD ONLY GET A REPLACEMENT VEHICLE IF I HAD A SERVICE CONTRACT. FIRST THERE IS TOTAL DISCONNECT BETWEEN WHAT CHRYSLER IS SAYING ON THE TIME TO REPAIR THESE DEFECTS 3 1/2 HOURS TO 2 DAYS QUOTED BY THE DEALER. SECOND I SHOULD NOT BE TREATED DIFFERENTLY ON BEING PROVIDED A REPLACEMENT VEHICLE UNDER A SAFETY RECALL.

OWNER OF A 2008 CHRYSLER TOWN & COUNTRY TOURING MINI VAN. PRESENTLY VEHICLE HAS JUST UNDER 25,000 MILES AND BRAKES ARE COMPLETELY SHOT AND SQUEALING. NOT SURE THAT I SHOULD CONTINUE TO DRIVE IN THIS CONDITION. EXPECTED REPAIR COSTS ARE AROUND $300-400. SERVICE CENTER IS TELLING ME THAT MANY CHRYSLER T&C VANS ARE EXPERIENCING SAME PROBLEM. ROTORS ARE UNDERSIZED FOR VEHICLE AND EXPERIENCE PREMATURE WEAR AND FAILURE.

I WAS DRIVING ON THE H-1 FREEWAY IN HONOLULU, FRIDAY AFTERNOON ABOUT 1:20 AND MY 2008 CHRYSLER TOWN AND COUNTRY LOST POWER ACTUALLY THE ENGINE TURNED OFF. I WAS IN A MIDDLE LANE AND TRAFFIC WAS NOT GOOD. I ALMOST CAUSED A CRASH BECAUSE I WASN'T PREPARED FOR MY POWER STEERING TO GO OUT JUST BEFORE A CURVE. THANKFULLY, I WAS ABLE TO STOP SAFELY. I CALLED A LOCAL DEALER, AND THEY COULD GET TO IT EVENTUALLY. *TR

1. SAFETY DEFECT IN THE WIRELESS IGNITION MODULE (IGNITION) IN 2008 TOWN & COUNTRY (TOURING MODEL). VEHICLE WILL RUN BUT MOST ELECTRICAL COMPONENTS WILL NOT WORK, INCLUDING TURN SIGNALS, WINDOWS, REMOTE MIRRORS, LIGHTS, HORN SEAT, DOOR LOCKS, WINDOW LOCKS, CLOCK, AC RADIO AND WIPERS. THE RESULT OF THE DEFECT INCLUDES INABILITY TO SAFELY OPERATE THE VEHICLE ONCE IN MOTION. DRIVER IS NOT NECESSARILY AWARE OF THE PROBLEM UNTIL THEY GO TO USE THE HORN, LIGHTS, OR TURN SIGNAL. CHRYSLER DENIED THE EXISTENCE OF THE PROBLEM UNTIL I MADE THEM COME TO MY HOME DURING AN EPISODE. 2. DEFECTIVE FUEL PUMP. VEHICLE IDLES EXTREMELY HIGH AND THE ENTIRE VEHICLE VIBRATES VIOLENTLY. CHRYSLER REPLACED THE FUEL PUMP YET THE SAFETY DEFECT CONTINUES. CHRYSLER DENIED REARING OR FEELING THE VIBRATION UNTIL A CHRYSLER FACTORY REP WAS CALLED TO THOMASVILLE IN RESPONSE TO A STATE OF GEORGIA OFFICE OF CONSUMER AFFAIRS LEMON LAW CLAIM. CHRYSLER REPLACE THE PUMP YET THE SAFETY DEFECT CONTINUES. 3. SEVERE GRINDING/SCRAPING NOISE COMING FROM THE REAR TENTER OF THE VEHICLE. TO-DATE, CHRYSLER DENIES THE NOISE AND HAS NOT REPAIRED THE PROBLEM. I FEE THE ISSUE OS ONE OF A POSSIBLE FIRE HAZARD DUE TO ITS PROXIMITY TO THE FUEL SYSTEM AND UNKNOWN DEFECT IN THE FUEL PUMP. *TR

THE AUTOMATIC SLIDING DOOR OF MY 2008 TOWN AND COUNTRY CHRYSLER MINI VAN CLOSED ON THE FINGERS OF MY 4 YEAR OLD CHILD WHILE HE WAS SITTING, STRAPPED INTO HIS BOOSTER SEAT. I DID NOT REALIZE UNTIL I OPENED THE DRIVERS SIDE DOOR AND WAS THEN ABLE TO OPEN THE SLIDING DOOR TO RELEASE HIS FINGERS. *TR
I WROTE A FEW WEEKS AGO ABOUT THE DOORS ON MY 2008 TOWN & COUNTRY THAT THE OPENED ON THERE OWN AND THEN WOULD NOT ALWAYS RESPOND TO THE REMOTE. CHRYSLER HAS UPDATED THE COMPUTER IN MY VAN. RECENTLY I HAD MORE PROBLEMS OF THE DOORS NOT RESPONDING SO THE VAN WENT BACK TO THE DEALERSHIP FOR THAT AND A NEW RADIO WITH WIRING FROM THE RADIO TO THE ANTENNA, HAD TO HAVE THE SEATS ON THE MIDDLE ROW REUPHOLSTERED AND BECAUSE OF HEAT COMING OUT FROM UNDER THE DASHBOARD. WHICH IS THE OTHER REASON I AM WRITING. THEY CAN NOT FIND THE PROBLEM AND IT IS NOT ALL THE TIME BUT THERE IS A TREMENDOUS AMOUNT OF HEAT THAT COMES OUT. BECAUSE OF THIS PROBLEM WITH THE HEAT COMING OUT AND STILL A PROBLEM WITH THE DOORS I FEEL THAT MY CHRYSLER TOWN & COUNTRY IS REALLY UNSAFE. *TR
