TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2009 CHRYSLER TOWN AND COUNTRY. WHILE DRIVING VARIOUS SPEEDS, THE TEMPERATURE GAUGE INDICATED THAT THE VEHICLE WAS HOT. ALSO, A PINGING SOUND WAS HEARD AND AN UNKNOWN WARNING INDICATOR ILLUMINATED. ONCE THE VEHICLE WOULD SIGNAL THAT IT WAS OVERHEATING, THE TEMPERATURE GAUGE WOULD REVERT BACK TO NORMAL AND THE PINGING SOUND AND WARNING INDICATOR CEASED. THE CONTACT TOOK THE VEHICLE TO AN INDEPENDENT MECHANIC TO BE DIAGNOSED AND REPAIRED. THE SPECIFICS OF THE DIAGNOSIS AND REPAIR WERE UNKNOWN; HOWEVER, THE FAILURE PERSISTED. THE VEHICLE FAILED TO RESTART AND WAS TOWED TO DEWEY DODGE CHRYSLER JEEP (LOCATED AT 3175 SE DELAWARE AVE, ANKENY, IA 50021, (515) 289-8700) WHERE IT WAS DIAGNOSED THAT THE WIRING HARNESS WAS FAULTY UNDER THE INSTRUMENT PANEL AND HOOD. THE CONTACT WAS STATED THAT THE CLOCKSPRING IN THE STEERING COLUMN NEEDED TO BE REPLACED. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOTIFIED OF THE FAILURES AND INFORMED THE CONTACT THAT THE VIN WAS NOT INCLUDED IN A RECALL. THE CONTACT WAS REFERRED TO NHTSA. THE APPROXIMATE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 153,000.

MY CAR STOPS WHILE DRIVING DOWN THE ROAD WITHOUT WARNING, EASILY RESTARTS AFTER SHIFTING INTO NEUTRAL. HOWEVER, RPM GOES TO ZERO, LOSE POWER STEERING. DID NOT HAVE THIS ISSUE PRIOR TO KEY FOB RECALL. IT HAS DONE THIS SEVERAL TIMES, USUALLY WHEN WEATHER IS COLDER LIKE 30 DEGREE. HAVE ALSO NOTICE BLIND SPOT AID SYSTEM WILL PERIODICALLY NOT FUNCTION. HEATED SEAT LIGHT OCCASIONALLY DO NOT FUNCTION. THE BLIND SPOT AND HEATED SEATS ARE MINOR COMPARED TO CAR STOPPING DEAD. IT DID RECENTLY WHILE GOING AROUND A CURVE AND WAS VERY SCARY. I'VE TAKEN IT TO TWO DIFFERENT DEALERS AND THEY STATE THERE ARE NO ENGINE CODES SHOWING. I TOLD MY HUSBAND IF I DIE IN A VEHICLE CRASH, ESPECIALLY IF REAR ENDED OR WHILE TURNING TO SUE CHRYSLER. DO NOT HAVE THIS PROBLEM IN WARM WEATHER. I'M AFRAID TO HAVE ANYONE IN MY VEHICLE, ESPECIALLY MY FIVE GRANDKIDS. I STAY OFF INTERSTATES BECAUSE OF THIS, AND HAVE SPENT MORE TIME LOOKING BEHIND ME FOR POSSIBLY GETTING REAR ENDED. THERE IS NO WARNING WHEN THIS MIGHT HAPPEN. ONE DEALERSHIP TOLD ME TO BRING IT IN WHEN IT HAPPENS, WHICH I HAVE NO IDEA WHEN IT WILL HAPPEN. ITS LIKE PLAYING RUSSIAN ROULETTE WHILE GETTING BEHIND THE WHEEL. THIS CAN HAPPEN ANYTIME, DRIVING 55, 35, 25 MPH, WHILE GOING STRAIGHT, OR TWICE WHILE TURNING. I THINK IT HAS TO DO WITH THE ELECTRICAL SYSTEM, OR PERHAPS THE IGNITION SYSTEM AND KEY FOB RECALL. MY CAR HAS 84330 MILES. IT'S HAPPENED THREE TIMES IN THE LAST TWO MONTHS. FREQUENCY SEEMS TO BE GETTING GREATER.

THE ENGINE SHUTS DOWN AS IF IN IGNITION MODE. I CAN PUT IT IN NEUTRAL OR PARK AND RESTART WITHOUT TROUBLE. THE 2014 RECALL WAS COMPLETED FOR THE KEY FOB AND IGNITION SWITCH. I ONLY HAVE ONE KEY AND PLASTIC CARDS ON THE FOB. THE MECHANICS CAN FIND NO CAUSE OF THE PROBLEM.

ARE THERE KNOWN PROBLEMS WITH IT? MY VAN EXHIBITS THE FOLLOWING RANDOM CONDITIONS' 1.) HORN STOPS WORKING AFTER REPEATED USE. IT WILL WORK AGAIN AFTER A PERIOD OF TIME. RECENTLY, I HAVE PUSHED ON THE HORN AND IT WILL BLOW AND THEN CUT OUT AFTER A COUPLE OF SECONDS. THIS HAPPEN WHETHER THE VAN IS IN MOTION OR STATIONARY. 2.) THE VAN HAD BEEN RUNNING AND IN MOTION FOR APPROXIMATELY 10 MINUTES PRIOR TO ARRIVING AT THE PARKING LOT WHERE IT WAS THEN PLACED INTO PARK AND LEFT RUNNING WHILE WAITING FOR MY KIDS TO GET OUT OF SCHOOL. RADIO ON, HEAT ON THEN WITH NO WARNING AT ALL THE VEHICLE SHUT OFF, LOST ALL POWER. I WAS UNABLE TO REMOVE THE KEY FROM THE IGNITION. IT WOULD NOT GO INTO THE OFF POSITION ALLOWING ME TO REMOVE THE KEY. I TRIED TO TURN THE KEY TO THE VARIOUS POSITIONS TO START THE CAR AND NOTHING HAPPENED. AUTO LOCKS WOULD NOT UNLOCK, THE CAR WAS COMPLETELY DEAD. I SAT FOR ABOUT 5 MINUTES IN A PANIC TRYING TO FIGURE OUT HOW CARS I WAS BLOCKING WERE GOING TO GET OUT OF THEIR PARKING SPOTS. THEN THE VAN SUDDENLY STARTED UP ON ITS OWN. MY HANDS WERE NOT ON THE KEYS, NOWHERE NEAR THE IGNITION AND IT JUST STARTED UP. WHAT WOULD HAVE HAPPENED IF THIS OCCURRED WHILE I WAS DRIVING AND IN MOTION AND EVEN WORSE TRAVELING AT A HIGH SPEED???? THERE SHOULD BE A RECALL ON THIS ISSUE AS IT IS A MAJOR SAFETY CONCERN. THE VEHICLE DID RECEIVE THE RECALL FIX FOR THE ISSUE WITH IGNITION A COUPLE YEARS BACK AND NOW I WONDER IF THAT WAS EVEN THE REAL ISSUE SINCE MY VAN RANDOMLY SHUT OFF ON ME FOR NO REASON AT ALL WHATSOEVER. IT HAD STALLED PREVIOUSLY 3 SEPARATE TIMES IN SIMILAR SITUATIONS WHEN EITHER MY WIFE OR SON WERE DRIVING THE VAN. OF COURSE WHEN THE ENGINE DIES THERE IS NO POWER STEERING OR POWER BRAKES WHICH MAKES HANDLING THE VEHICLE EXTREMELY DIFFICULT. THE VAN IMMEDIATELY RESTARTS WHEN YOU TURN THE IGNITION KEY, BUT THE CEL DOES NOT LIGHT UP SO THERE ARE NO CODES IN THE COMPUTER TO HELP DIAGNOSE THE PROBLEM. THIS IS A SERIOUS PROBLEM THAT LOTS OF PEOPLE ARE HAVING. JUST READ THE BLOGS ON THE INTERNET. IF THE VAN STALLS WHILE MAKING A TURN AND YOU CAN'T BRAKE OR STEER, THEN IT'S JUST A MATTER OF TIME BEFORE A POTENTIALLY SERIOUS ACCIDENT OCCURS. SECOND TIME, NO ERROR CODE BUT CHARGED ME $130 TO CLEAN THE THROTTLE LINKAGE, STILL THE SAME PROBLEM. MY WIFE AND I ARE SCARED TO DRIVE IT. I DID A SEARCH AND FOUND SOMEONE WITH THE EXACT SAME PROBLEM (SEE BELOW). CAN YOU OFFER ME (OR THE DEALER) ANY ADVICE ON HOW THIS CAN BE FIXED? ENGINE SHUTS DOWN DURING LOW SPEED OPERATION. WHILE DRIVING DOWN HIGHWAY AT ABOUT 60 MPH WITH WIFE AND 3 CHILDREN, SUDDENLY WITH NO WARNING, ALL POWER TO VEHICLE WAS COMPLETELY LOST. THIS MADE IT VERY DIFFICULT TO SAFELY MOVE VEHICLE TO SHOULDER. IF TRAFFIC WOULD HAVE BEEN HEAVY THIS COULD HAVE CAUSED A SERIOUS ACCIDENT. ONCE VEHICLE WAS PARKED IT WOULD NOT RESTART AND HAD TO BE TOWED 20 MILES TO DEALER. ONCE AT DEALER ELECTRICAL SYSTEM SEEMED TO FAIL FURTHER. POWER WINDOWS, LOCKS AND DOORS WOULD NO LONGER WORK. CLEARLY SOME SORT OF SERIOUS ELECTRICAL PROBLEM THIS IS THE 4TH TIME SOMETHING LIKE THIS HAPPENED, BUT WITH THE PREVIOUS INCIDENTS THE CAR ALWAYS STARTED ONCE IT WAS STOPPED AND PUT INTO PARK AND KEY WAS TURNED.

RECENTLY PURCHASED VEHICLE USED (DEALERSHIP FILLED WITH FUEL AFTER TEST DRIVE BUT BEFORE WE TOOK IT HOME). ON THE WAY HOME ON CITY STREETS (WHILE APPROACHING AN INTERSECTION), THE ENGINE STALLED CAUSING LOSS OF POWER BRAKES & POWER STEERING. AFTER PUTTING THE CAR IN PARK, IT STARTED UP & RAN FINE. A COUPLE DAYS LATER, MY WIFE WAS DRIVING IT & WHILE TURNING RIGHT AT AN INTERSECTION IT DID THE SAME THING. SHE BARELY WAS ABLE TO SAFELY COMPLETE THE TURN DUE TO THE LOSS OF POWER STEERING. AFTER THAT INCIDENT IT HASN'T HAPPENED AGAIN (BUT WE HAVEN'T FILLED IT WITH FUEL AGAIN YET). RESEARCH ON THE NET LEADS ME TO THINK IT IS THE COMMON PROBLEM WITH A VALVE IN THE FUEL TANK. WHEN WE BOUGHT THE VEHICLE (AT AROUND 80K MILES) WE NOTICED THAT YOU COULD SMELL COOLANT AT TIMES, BUT WERE TOLD IT WAS NOTHING. WHEN WE TOOK IT IN FOR SERVICE WE WERE TOLD THAT IT WAS 2 QUARTS LOW ON OIL. I ASKED THE SHOP THAT DID THE FIRST OIL CHANGE, THINKING MAYBE THEY DIDN'T DO A PROPER JOB- HE MENTIONED THAT THIS WAS A COMMON ISSUE WITH THIS YEAR OF TOWN & COUNTRY. I TOOK IT IN FOR A RECALL- A GOOD FRIEND WANTED TO PERFORM AN OIL CONSUMPTION TEST. COME TO FIND OUT, IT WAS BURNING OIL AT A RAPID RATE. IF I HADN'T BEEN AWARE & CHECKING THE OIL ON ALMOST A DAILY BASIS, IT COULD HAVE RUN OUT & THE ENGINE SEIZED. THE BURNING OIL CAUSES ISSUES WITH THE RINGS AS WELL.

THIS IS MOST OFTEN NOTICED AROUND 37 MPH OR 30 MPH. WENT IS COLD THE CAR ACT UP . IT IS HAVING TROUBLES ALSO GETTING HOT THE ENGINE AND I HAVE THE CAR FOR 5 MONTH AND I HAD TO FILL THE COOLANT TWICE. I HAVE A PROBLEM WITH MY 2009 CHRYSLER TOWN AND COUNTRY IT HAS A 3.8 L V6 ENGINE AND A 6-SPEED AUTOMATIC. JUST RECENTLY IT JUST STOP AS I WAS DRIVING. I HAD JUST WENT THRU A GREEN LIGHT AND JUST AS I GOT UP TO ABOUT 30MPH THE ENGINE JUST STOP THE ONLY LIGHT THAT CAME ON WAS THE (ESC) LIGHT GOES ON, AND THEN POWER STEERING FAILS BREAKS DO NOT RESPOND. THE DEALER CHECKED IT THE NEXT DAY THERE WERE NO CODS SET. EXCEPT A REAR AC MIX DOOR HAD A PROBLEM AND A ABS CODE. BACK IN MAY I HAD A PROBLEM STARTING IT ACTED AS IF I HAD A DEAD BATTER, THE BATTER AND STARTER TESTED OKAY THEN IN JUNE THERE WAS A R03 SAFETY RECALL FOR THE WIRELESS IGNITION MODULE WHICH WAS REPLACED. I WISH THE TOWN AND COUNTRY IS PART OF THE CHRYSLER BUY BACK PROGRAM. I HAD ASKED ABOUT THIS THE LAST TIME I WAS THERE ABOUT TWO MONTHS AGO AND WAS TOLD THAT THEY DIDN'T HAVE THE PARTS IN STOCK YET. LAST NIGHT, MY ENGINE SHUT OFF WHILE I WAS DRIVING DOWN MY STREET, WHICH I ASSUME WAS A RESULT OF THIS DEFECTIVE PART. TYPICALLY THIS OCCURS AT SPEEDS BETWEEN 25-45MPH. THE ENGINE SHUTS DOWN, STEERING CAPABILITY IS LOST AND THE AIRBAGS BECOME NO-FUNCTIONAL. THIS RESULTS IN VERY UNSAFE DRIVING CONDITIONS AS CONTROL OF THE VEHICLE IS ALMOST IMPOSSIBLE. MULTIPLE CALLS HAVE BEEN MADE TO CHRYSLER. THEY STATE THE VEHICLE IS CURRENTLY UNDER RECALL FOR THIS ISSUE BUT A FIX IS NOT YET AVAILABLE. THE PART IS BEING MANUFACTURED AND MUST GO THROUGH QC PRIOR TO US BEING CALLED TO SCHEDULE A REPAIR. I WAS DRIVING AT APPROXIMATELY 45 MPH WHEN MY T&C CHRYSLER MINIVAN JUST SHUT OFF. I HAD TO "ARM-STRONG" STEER IT TO THE SIDE OF THE ROAD AND RESTART IT. LUCKILY I WAS NOT ON THE HIGHWAY. NOW THE KEY FOB RANDOMLY GETS STUCK AT 'ACCESSORIES' AND I AM NOT ABLE TO TURN THE CAR OFF. APPARENTLY THE IGNITION DOES NOT KNOW THE CAR IS IN PARK AS WELL. WHEN I GET TO MY DESTINATION, I AM FACED WITH HAVING TO EITHER LEAVE THE KEY IN THE IGNITION WITH POWER BEING DRAINED FROM THE BATTERY (SINCE THING ARE STILL ON)..OR CONTINUALLY DRIVING AROUND AND PARK, DRIVE AROUND AND PARK, UNTIL THE KEY WILL COME OUT. WHILE DRIVING ON THE FREEWAY, GOING UPHILL AT ABOUT 55MPH, MY ENGINE SUDDENLY BEGAN REVVING AND THE VAN SPED UP, THEN, I WAS UNABLE TO GET IT TO ACCELERATE. I PUSHED THE GAS PEDAL, BUT IT WASN'T ENGAGING THE ENGINE. THE RPM'S WOULD GO UP, BUT THERE WAS NO AFFECT ON THE VAN SPEED. THE TERRAIN CHANGED, SO THEN I BEGAN GOING DOWNHILL AND I CONTINUED TRYING TO GET THE VAN TO ACCELERATE TO AVOID BEING REAR-ENDED. FINALLY, THE ENGINE ENGAGED AND I WAS ABLE TO SPEED UP. THIS HAPPENED ONE MORE TIME DURING THAT TRIP. IT HAS HAPPENED A COUPLE OF OTHER TIMES SINCE THEN, BRIEFLY, BUT YESTERDAY, IT HAPPENED, AND I AGAIN, WAS NEARLY REAR-ENDED, AND I HAD TO COAST INTO A PARKING LOT TO GET OUT OF THE WAY OF TRAFFIC. (THE "CHECK ENGINE" LIGHT HAS NEVER COME ON WHILE THIS WAS HAPPENING.) I WENT TO A MECHANIC WHO THEN TEST-DROVE THE VAN, BUT WAS "UNABLE TO DUPLICATE THE PROBLEM." I DROVE THE VAN HOME AND THE PROBLEM HAPPENED THROUGHOUT MY TRIP (SPEEDS RANGING FROM 30-45 MPH.) IT WASN'T UNTIL I FINALLY MADE IT HOME AND WAS PARKING THE VAN IN FRONT OF MY HOUSE THAT THE "CHECK ENGINE" LIGHT FINALLY CAME ON. I THEN TOOK THE VAN TO A LOCAL AUTO PARTS STORE THAT WILL RUN CODES AFTER THE ENGINE LIGHT COMES ON. IT GAVE A CODE FOR SEVERAL POSSIBLE CAUSES, WHICH INCLUDED ELECTRICAL ISSUES. UNFORTUNATELY, THE GUY CLEARED THE CODE, AND I AM NOT ABLE TO DRIVE THE VAN IN ORDER TO SEE IF THE ENGINE LIGHT WILL COME BACK ON. THE ABS AND TRACTION CONTROL LIGHT CAME ON. THE VEHICLE WAS ABLE TO BE MOVED OVER TO THE SIDE OF THE ROAD WITHOUT INCIDENT. RESTARTED THE VEHICLE AND IT OPERATED AS NORMAL. THE SECOND INCIDENT OCCURRED WHILE MOVING THE VEHICLE AROUND 5 MILES AN HOUR WHEN THE ENGINE SHUT OFF AGAIN. POWER STEERING AND BRAKES FAILED TO WORK. THE THIRD INCIDENT OCCURRED TRAVELING ABOUT 30 MILES AN HOUR WITH THE SAME ISSUES AS ABOVE. THE VEHICLE HAS BEEN AT THE DEALER TWICE WITH NO SOLUTION AT THIS TIME. THIS OF COURSE IS A VERY SCARY SITUATION GIVEN THAT ANOTHER LOSS OF POWER CAN OCCUR AGAIN WITHOUT WARNING. THIS CLEARLY WILL PUT THE RIDERS IN DANGER. I WAS FORTUNATE DURING THE LAST THREE OCCURRENCES, BUT THAT MAY NOT BE THE CASE THE NEXT TIME. I KNOW FROM INTERNET SEARCHES THAT THIS PROBLEM HAS OCCURRED WITH OTHER TOWN AND COUNTRY VANS. THANKFULLY MY WIFE WAS ABLE TO COAST INTO A PARKING AREA WHERE AFTER SOME TIME SHE WAS ABLE TO RESTART THE VAN AND PROCEED ON HER WAY. NUMEROUS TIMES I HAVE TRIED TO START THE VAN AND THE ENGINE WOULD NOT TURN OVER UNTIL THE KEY WAS TAKEN OUT AND FLIPPED AROUND AND THEN IT WOULD START. TWO DAYS AGO THE VAN WOULD NOT START AT ALL BUT ALL IF THE KEY FOB FUNCTIONS WORKED AND ALL OF THE ELECTRICAL GAUGES CAME ON. CAR STARTING ACCELERATING ON ITS OWN. I WASN'T ABLE TO SLOW DOWN AS THE BRAKES DIDN'T RESPOND (THEY SEAMEN STUCK). THIS HAS HAPPEN AT LEAST TWICE IN A 3 WEEKS PERIOD. I HAVE TO PUSH THE ACCELERATOR HARDER IN ORDER TO SOMEHOW MADE THE CAR RESPONSIVE. THE SECOND TIME THIS HAPPENED, A BRAKE SIGNAL CAME UP, ONCE I WAS ABLE TO TAKE CONTROL OF THE CAR, I PARKED ON SIDE OF THE ROAD, TURNED THE CAR OFF AND THEN TURNED ON AGAIN AND SIGNAL WENT OFF. PURCHASED A 2009 T&C 3 WEEKS AGO, 47607MILES. FIRST INCIDENCE OCCURRED AFTER 1 WEEK. WHILE DRIVING THE VEHICLE LOST POWER STEERING, (ELECTRONICS, LIGHTS, RADIO, ETC REMAINED ACTIVE), I REALIZED THE ENGINE HAD STALLED/CUTOFF. I WAS ONLY GOING ABOUT 20MPH, I HAD TO PUT THE CAR IN PARK AND RESTART THE IGNITION. CAR DROVE FINE. TOOK THE CAR BACK TO DEALERSHIP WHERE THEY MACHINED THE REAR ROTORS. WEEK 2, TOOK THE CAR BACK TO THE DEALERSHIP AGAIN, THEY MACHINED THE FRONT ROTORS. WEEK 3, WHILE DRIVING THE SAME INCIDENT OCCURRED, ENGINE CUTOFF DURING OPERATION WITHOUT WARNING. LUCKILY I WAS IN A NEIGHBORHOOD AND SPEED WAS APPROX 15-25 MPH. ELECTRONICS REMAINED ACTIVE. (THERE WERE NO WARNINGS OR ERROR CODES WHEN THE ENGINE SHUT DOWN.) HAD TO PUT THE VEHICLE IN PARK AND RESTART THE ENGINE. TOOK THE CAR BACK TO THE DEALERSHIP FOR THE THIRD TIME IN 3 WEEKS OF OWNERSHIP WHERE IT CURRENTLY REMAINS AS THEY TRY TO CHASE THIS GHOST. I AM CONVINCED THIS VEHICLE IS DANGEROUS AND NOT SAFE TO DRIVE SINCE THE ENGINE CUTS OFF RANDOMLY. I ASKED FIRST TEAM HONDA OF CHESAPEAKE TO TAKE THIS VEHICLE BACK AND I WOULD BUY A DIFFERENT VEHICLE. THE USED CAR SALES MANAGER OFFERED ME 75% OF WHAT I PAID FOR THE CAR 3 WEEKS EARLIER AND TOLD ME THERE WAS NOTHING WRONG WITH MY VEHICLE. THE DEALER THEN REPLACED THE ENGINE OIL AND ADVISED THE CONTACT THAT THE VEHICLE DID NOT EXHIBIT A MANUFACTURING DEFECT. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 2,000 AND THE CURRENT MILEAGE 51,000. THE VIN WAS NOT AVAILABLE.

AFTER SUSTAINED HIGHWAY SPEEDS, OUR VAN STALLED UPON EXITING THE HIGHWAY AND COMING TO A COMPLETE STOP AT THE FIRST TRAFFIC LIGHT. THE STEERING WHEEL AND BRAKE PEDAL WOULD SHAKE VERY HARD IMMEDIATELY PRIOR TO STALLING. THE TACHOMETER WOULD ALSO DIP BELOW 750 RPM IMMEDIATELY BEFORE ENGINE STALLING. THIS SAME THING HAPPENED AT LEAST 10 TIMES BEFORE WE FINALLY TOOK IT BACK TO THE DEALERSHIP. THEY COULD NOT FIND ANYTHING WRONG WITH THE VAN AND SAID THAT THEY SIMPLY UPDATED THE ENGINE COMPUTER SOFTWARE. THE PROBLEM CONTINUED AND BECAME QUITE PREDICTABLE. THERE IS NO PROBLEM WHEN THE VEHICLE IS DRIVEN AROUND TOWN SINCE I DON'T GET ONTO A HIGHWAY TO GO TO WORK OR SHOP. IT HAPPENS ALL THE TIME NOW AFTER WE'VE BEEN ON THE HIGHWAY FOR A WHILE AND EXIT. SOMETIMES IT WILL STALL BEFORE WE CAN EVEN COME TO A COMPLETE STOP WHICH CONCERNS ME GREATLY. OUR VEHICLE RECENTLY RAN OUT OF IT'S REGULAR 3 YEAR/36,000 MILE WARRANTY SO WE TOOK IT TO OUR REGULAR MECHANIC BECAUSE WE WANTED ANOTHER OPINION AND TO FINALLY GET IT FIXED EVEN IF IT HAD TO BE AT OUR OWN EXPENSE. OUR MECHANIC DETERMINED THAT THE PROBLEM WAS WITH THE TORQUE CONVERTER. APPARENTLY THE TORQUE CONVERTER IS INTENDED TO HELP THE TRANSMISSION GET BETTER GAS MILEAGE WHEN AT HIGHWAY SPEEDS. UPON EXITING THE HIGHWAY, THE TORQUE CONVERTER IS NOT PROPERLY DISENGAGING WHICH IS RESULTING IN OUR ENGINE STALLING ISSUE. INSTEAD OF CHARGING US TO FIX THE PROBLEM HE TOLD US TO HAVE OUR DEALER FIX IT SINCE IT SHOULD STILL BE COVERED BY THE POWER TRAIN WARRANTY AS WE HAVE JUST OVER 40,000 MILES ON THE VEHICLE. AFTER 3 DAYS WITH THE DEALER, THEY HAVE YET TO RESOLVE THE ISSUE AND CLAIM THAT THEY CANNOT REPRODUCE THE PROBLEM. NEEDLESS TO SAY, WE ARE EXTREMELY FRUSTRATED.
