Air conditioning condensation leaking below dashboard and onto carpet, causing electrical shorts in air bag and anti-lock brake (ABS). Chrysler identified this issue and issued a recall (K25) in January 2011, but only for vehicles manufactured through December 3, 2008. In consultation with Chrysler and according to its own internal documentation, my vehicle (manufactured in February 2009) has the same defective parts and is prone to the same safety issues caused by condensation leaking into critical electronic safety components, but they refuse to remedy the safety issue "due to it not being subject to the recall" -- despite Chrysler personnel conceding that my February-2009 was manufactured with the same, identical, flawed parts as those 2008 and earlier 2009 models that are subject to recall K25.

Chrysler aka FCA has recently recalled TPMS sensors of 2022 vehicles but has NOT recalled the 2009 Town and Country TPMS systems. I bought my 2009 Town and Country new and bought the MaxiCare bumper to bumper lifetime no deductible warranty for it. It now has 180,000 miles on it. I've complained to the local dealer on numerous occasions about the TPMS giving false warnings. They have changed components for several years, but the problem has never been resolved. I've given them numerous videos of the false warnings as they happened. They have been unable to resolve the problem even after consulting Chrysler "experts" by setting up STAR Claims with Chrysler Corporation. This is a safety issue. The false audible and dash light warnings take place driving on expressways. The light stays lit for many miles. Then the system resets and the same thing can happen the same day or days or weeks later. The last date was 8/4/22. Attached photos are frames from the 8/4/22 videos I made showing 264.7 Trip Miles Alarm with two normal and two flat tires, 265.4 Trip Miles all 4 tires flat, 299.2 Trip Miles all 4 tires still flat, 341.8 Trip Miles normal display with normal tire pressures shown in all 4 tires after system reset itself.

AS I WAS DRIVING, AND WITH NO DASHBOARD WARNING ALERT, THE BRAKES SUDDENLY SANK TO THE FLOOR. I DROVE EXTREMELY SLOWLY, CONTINUING ON TOWARDS MY APARTMENT, AND EACH TIME I HAD TO STOP, THE BRAKE PEDAL SANK TO THE FLOOR. I MANAGED TO GET HOME SAFELY, BUT THE CAR STILL HAS NO BRAKES.

I WAS DRIVING DOWN NAVAJO BOULEVARD A MAIN ROAD IN HOLBROOK ARIZONA A VEHICLE COMING FROM A SIDE ROAD PULLED IN FRONT OF ME AND I HAD TO SLAM ON THE BRAKES TO AVOID A COLLISION. I THEN PROCEEDED DOWN NAVAJO BOULEVARD AND QUICKLY REALIZED THAT I HAD NO POWER NO STEERING, NO BRAKES, NOTHING ALTHOUGH THE ENGINE WAS STILL RUNNING. I WAS ABLE TO PROCEED DOWN THE ROAD AND TURN ONTO A SIDE ROAD TO THE SIDE UNTIL IT COMPLETELY QUIT RUNNING AND WAS ABLE TO STOP ON ITS OWN.

THE LIGHT COMES ON WHILE I AM DRIVING AND THEN GOES OFF AGAIN FOR A FEW MILES AND THEN COMES ON AGAIN. BRAKES ARE WORKING FINE, HAD NEW BRAKES ETC PUT ON REAR EARLIER THIS YEAR. THE LIGHT COMES ON WHEN I AM MOVING. THIS HAPPENS ON CITY STREETS.

TL* THE CONTACT OWNED A 2009 CHRYSLER TOWN AND COUNTRY. WHILE DRIVING 70 MPH, THE CRUISE CONTROL MALFUNCTIONED. THE CONTACT STATED THAT THE CRUISE CONTROL BECAME STUCK AND THE CONTACT COULD NOT STOP THE VEHICLE BY DEPRESSING THE BRAKE PEDAL. THE VEHICLE CRASHED INTO A DIVIDER AND ROLLED OVER SEVERAL TIMES. THE DRIVER'S SIDE AIR BAG DID NOT DEPLOY. POLICE REPORT NUMBER: 18-16077 WAS FILED. THE CONTACT'S HUSBAND SUSTAINED A MILD CONCUSSION, PAIN IN THE RIBS, CONTUSIONS ON BOTH LEGS, AND CHEST PAIN. THE CONTACT SUSTAINED AN INJURY TO THE HEART, WHICH BECAME ENLARGED, AS WELL AS CONTUSIONS AND SEVERE BACK PAIN. MEDICAL ATTENTION WAS REQUIRED FOR BOTH OCCUPANTS. THE VEHICLE WAS DESTROYED AND TOWED. BROWN'S JEEP CHRYSLER DODGE RAM IN PATCHOGUE, NEW YORK WAS CONTACTED AND REFERRED THE CONTACT TO THE MANUFACTURER. THE MANUFACTURER WAS MADE AWARE OF THE FAILURE. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 64,000.

FOR THE SECOND TIME SINCE OWNING THE CAR I HAD TO REPLACE BOTH REAR BRAKE CALIPERS, BECAUSE THEY SEIZED UP AND THE REAR BRAKES WERE NOT WORKING AT ALL, CAUSING THE FRONT PADS TO WEAR EXCESSIVELY. I FEEL THIS IS A DESIGN DEFECT, UNDERSIZED CALIPERS/BRAKES THAT HEAT UP EXCESSIVELY, CAUSING THEM TO SEIZE. I DRIVE ON FLAT NJ HIGHWAYS, SO THERE IS NO MOUNTAIN DRIVING INVOLVED, THAT COULD OVERHEAT THE BRAKES. THE FIRST TIME, EACH SIZED FAILED SEPARATELY AND THIS RESULTS IN A SAFETY HAZARD, AS IF JUST 1 SEIZES, BOTH REAR BRAKES DO NOT WORK. THE CONTACT PULLED THE VEHICLE OVER TO THE SIDE OF THE ROAD, SHIFTED INTO PARK, AND RESTARTED THE VEHICLE. THE CONTACT TOOK THE VEHICLE TO A CERTIFIED MECHANIC WHO WAS UNABLE TO DIAGNOSE THE CAUSE OF THE FAILURE. THE FAILURE RECURRED. THE DEALER WAS NOT CONTACTED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS MADE AWARE OF THE FAILURE AND INFORMED THE CONTACT THAT THE VEHICLE WAS PREVIOUSLY INCLUDED IN NHTSA CAMPAIGN NUMBER: 11V139000 (ELECTRICAL SYSTEM), WHICH HAD BEEN EXPANDED INTO NHTSA CAMPAIGN NUMBER: 14V373000 (ELECTRICAL SYSTEM, AIR BAGS). THE VEHICLE WAS NOT INCLUDED IN THE NEW EXPANDED RECALL. THE APPROXIMATE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 145,000.

THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO A LOCAL DEALER (STATELINE CHRYSLER JEEP DODGE RAM, 800 GOLDHILL ROAD FORT MILL, SC 29716) WHERE IT WAS DIAGNOSED THAT THE CALIBERS AND ROTORS WERE WARPED AND NEEDED TO BE REPLACED. THE VEHICLE WAS REPAIRED, BUT THE FAILURE RECURRED SEVERAL TIMES. THE CONTACT ALSO STATED THAT THE PARTS NEEDED TO BE REPLACED EVERY 12,000 MILES. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOTIFIED OF THE FAILURE AND INFORMED THE CONTACT THAT NO OPEN INVESTIGATIONS WERE OPEN FOR THE DEFECT. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS APPROXIMATELY 42,300. *JS

I WENT OUT AND STARTED MY VAN, THE WIPERS TURNED ON AUTOMATICALLY SO I THOUGHT MAYBE I HAD TURNED THE HANDLE SOMEHOW... SO I TURNED IT OFF AND THAT'S WHEN EVERYTHING WENT WRONG. ALL THE DASH LIGHTS STARTED FLASHING AND CYCLING THROUGH START UP CHECKS AND THEN SAYING EVERYTHING IS OFF ABS, AIRBAGS ETC. THE SEAT WAS EVEN REPOSITIONING ITSELF. I TOOK OUT MY PHONE AND STARTED RECORDING THIS WEIRD EPISODE THAT I HAVE NEVER SEEN BEFORE. I BOUGHT THIS VAN 5 MONTHS AGO AND DON'T KNOW OF ITS HISTORY, BUT THIS IS NOT SOMETHING ANYONE SHOULD HAVE TO DEAL WITH. 3 DAYS LATER MY WIFE WAS DRIVING DOWN THE ROAD WHEN THIS STARTED HAPPENING TO HER, THE DIFFERENCE WAS THAT SHE SITS CLOSER TO STEERING WHEEL THEN I DO AND THE SEAT WAS JERKING HER BACK AND FORTH WHILE DRIVING AND SCARED HER. THANKS [XXX]. I BOUGHT THIS VAN BECAUSE I WANTED THE STOW AND GO SEATS AND SIDE CURTAIN SAFETY ALONG WITH EVERYTHING ELSE. MY VAN IS A LOADED LIMITED EDITION WITH MOST AVAILABLE OPTIONS. AFTER LOOKING AROUND THE INTERNET IT SEEMS LIKE THE TIPM OR A LOOSE CONNECTION COULD BE THE PROBLEM AND THAT DEALERSHIPS ARE PRETTY MUCH A WASTE OF TIME FOR HELP ON THIS. CHRYSLER KNOWS OF THE ISSUES BECAUSE IT HAPPENS ACROSS THEIR VEHICLES AND HAVE ONLY FIXED CERTAIN MODELS. OUR 2009 T&C STALLED IN CITY TRAFFIC THIS MORNING WITHOUT ANY WARNING WHEN SLOWING DOWN TO BELOW 20-30 MPH (WITH THE TRACTION CONTROL LIGHT BRIEFLY ILLUMINATING AFTER THE STALL). IT HAD STALLED PREVIOUSLY 3 SEPARATE TIMES IN SIMILAR SITUATIONS WHEN EITHER MY WIFE OR SON WERE DRIVING THE VAN. OF COURSE WHEN THE ENGINE DIES THERE IS NO POWER STEERING OR POWER BRAKES WHICH MAKES HANDLING THE VEHICLE EXTREMELY DIFFICULT. THE VAN IMMEDIATELY RESTARTS WHEN YOU TURN THE IGNITION KEY, BUT THE CEL DOES NOT LIGHT UP SO THERE ARE NO CODES IN THE COMPUTER TO HELP DIAGNOSE THE PROBLEM. THIS IS A SERIOUS PROBLEM THAT LOTS OF PEOPLE ARE HAVING. JUST READ THE BLOGS ON THE INTERNET. IF THE VAN STALLS WHILE MAKING A TURN AND YOU CAN'T BRAKE OR STEER, THEN IT'S JUST A MATTER OF TIME BEFORE A POTENTIALLY SERIOUS ACCIDENT OCCURS. A COUPLE DAYS LATER, MY WIFE WAS DRIVING IT & WHILE TURNING RIGHT AT AN INTERSECTION IT DID THE SAME THING. SHE BARELY WAS ABLE TO SAFELY COMPLETE THE TURN DUE TO THE LOSS OF POWER STEERING. AFTER THAT INCIDENT IT HASN'T HAPPENED AGAIN (BUT WE HAVEN'T FILLED IT WITH FUEL AGAIN YET). RESEARCH ON THE NET LEADS ME TO THINK IT IS THE COMMON PROBLEM WITH A VALVE IN THE FUEL TANK. I HAVE A 09 CHRYSLER T&C THAT HAS HAD MULTIPLE BRAKES, ROTORS, CALIPERS AND BEARINGS ISSUES. IN FEBRUARY 2015 I HAD TO REPLACE THE REAR BRAKES, CALIPERS, PADS AND ROTORS DUE TO THEM LOCKING UP. I INVESTIGATE THE ISSUE AND FOUND OUT THAT THERE WERE SERVICE BULLETINS THAT STATED THERE WAS AN ISSUE WITH THEM AND TO REPLACE THEM. CHRYSLER DID THEY RIGHT THING AND REIMBURSED ME FOR THE COST TO REPLACE ALL OF THAT. I NOW FIND MYSELF IN THE SAME SITUATION WITH THE FRONT ONES, SO I DID SOME INVESTIGATION AGAIN AND FOUND A SERVICE BULLETIN ABOUT THE FRON ONES AND TO REPLACE THEM. I CALLED CHRYSLER TO LET THEM KNOW AND THEY TOLD ME TO GET IT TO A CERTIFED DEALERSHIP TO DIAGNOSIS AND THAT THEY COULD POSSIBLE HELP WITH COST ASSISTANCE BUT SINCE THE EXTENDED WARRANTY (X35) EXPIRED IN APRIL 2015, THEY CAN'T GUARANTEE THAT THEY WILL HELP. ( X35 IT AND EXTENTED WARRANTY FOR THIS DUE TO MANY ISSUES THAT COVERS 5 YRS FROM DATE OF MFG OR 90,000 MILES) WELL GUESS WHAT CAME FIRST 5 YRS..... THEY CAR IS UNDRIVABLE DUE TO THIS ISSUE, SO NOW I HAVE TO HAVE IT TOWED FROM MY MECHANCIS TO A CERTIFED DEARLERSHIP THAT I DON'T KNOW OR TRUST.....

AT ABOUT 3000 MILES THE FRONT ROTORS WARPED AND HAD TO BE REPLACED. UP TO ABOUT 25,000 MILES CHRYSLER CONTINUED TO REPLACE FREE OF CHARGE WARPED FRONT AND REAR ROTORS ABOUT EVERY 3-6,000 MILES. AFTER THAT THEY STOPPED PAYING FOR THE REPLACEMENTS AND I HAVE, DESPITE THE SOMEWHAT DECREASED STOPPING POWER AND VIBRATION CONTINUED TO RIDE IN MOSTLY LOW SPEED CITY CONDITIONS ON THE EXISTING ROTORS. OTHER FAMILY MEMBERS WON'T DRIVE THE VEHICLE BECAUSE THEY DON'T FEEL SAFE DOING SO. THE VIBRATION COMES AND GOES. IT GETS WORSE WITH PROLONGED DRIVING, HIGHER SPEEDS, AND HEAVY BRAKING. I PURCHASED THIS 2009 NEW, AND WAS SURPRISED THE TIRES WERE ALMOST BALD NEAR 28000 MILES. I ALSO HAD FRONT BRAKES REPLACED FOR WARPED ROTORS. MY MECHANIC AT CHRYSLER INSISTED IT WAS "NORMAL WEAR" & INSULTED MY WIFE. WE NOW HAVE 80,000 MILES ON THE VAN & REPLACED THE ROTORS APPROXIMATELY EVERY YEAR- 5000 MILES OR LESS. I HAVE SPENT $2000 ON BRAKES (ROTORS AND PADS) NOT INCLUDING LABOR ! THE WARPED ROTORS HAVE AGAIN RETURNED & MY WIFE IS TERRIFIED TO DRIVE ON THE FREEWAY DUE TO THE SHAKING WHEN BRAKES APPLIED AT 55 MPH. I FEEL THIS IS A SAFETY ISSUE AS THE VEHICLE SHAKES VIOLENTLY AT 55 MPH AND BRAKING IS POOR. I HAVE READ SEVERAL HUNDRED BLOGS OF SIMILAR COMPLAINTS ON THE 2008-2010 T&C VANS. BRAKES NEEDED REPLACING -ROTORS AND PADS AT 31,180 MILES.. CHRYSLER WAS AWARE OF THE PROBLEM ON THESE VEHICLES AND HAD OFFERED EXTENDED WARRANTY FOR THESE BRAKE REPAIRS/REPLACEMENT. CHRYSLER ACTED PROPERLY AT THIS POINT, BUT DID NOT REALLY FIX THE PROBLEM LONGER TERM AS WE HAVE HAD TO REPLACE THE BRAKE ROTORS AND PADS TWICE MORE SINCE THEN. WE ARE CONSERVATIVE DRIVERS AND DO NOT RIDE THE BRAKE OR BRAKE HARSHLY UNLESS THERE IS AN EMERGENCY. OUR VEHICLE NOW HAS ONLY 56,600 MILES ON IT AND TWO MORE FRONT ROTOR AND PAD BRAKE REPLACEMENTS IN THE PAST TWENTY-FIVE THOUSAND MILES IS UNACCEPTABLE AND PERHAPS UNSAFE. THE BRAKES AND BRAKE DISKS OF OUR 09 TOWN & COUNTRY NEED TO BE REPLACED EVERY 10K. THE DEALER KNOWS ABOUT THIS ISSUE, CHRYSLER HAS ISSUED A REPLACEMENT ONCE AND THE OTHER TIMES WE HAD TO ARGUE WITH THEM TO GET IT REPLACED FOR FREE (BOTH FRONT AND BACK, BRAKE PADS AND DISKS). WE ARE NOW AT 48K AND REPLACING THE BRAKES FOR THE 4TH TIME. WE HAVE A OTHER CAR (YUKON XL WITH 86K AND IT NEVER HAD ANY DISKS REPLACED). THE PEOPLE AT THE DEALER FEEL BAD FOR US AND SAY THEY SEE THIS A LOT BUT THERE IS NOTHING THEY CAN DO. I CONTACTED CHRYSLER BUT THEY ARE NOT WILLING TO FIX IT, ONLY TO REPLACE IT FOR FREE ONE MORE TIME. THE FIRST INCIDENT OCCURRED WHEN THE VEHICLE WAS IN MOTION GOING ABOUT 40 MILES AN HOUR WHEN THE ENGINE SHUT OFF WITH POWER STEERING AND BRAKE PRESSURE LOSS. THE ABS AND TRACTION CONTROL LIGHT CAME ON. THE VEHICLE WAS ABLE TO BE MOVED OVER TO THE SIDE OF THE ROAD WITHOUT INCIDENT. RESTARTED THE VEHICLE AND IT OPERATED AS NORMAL. THE SECOND INCIDENT OCCURRED WHILE MOVING THE VEHICLE AROUND 5 MILES AN HOUR WHEN THE ENGINE SHUT OFF AGAIN. POWER STEERING AND BRAKES FAILED TO WORK. THE THIRD INCIDENT OCCURRED TRAVELING ABOUT 30 MILES AN HOUR WITH THE SAME ISSUES AS ABOVE. THE VEHICLE HAS BEEN AT THE DEALER TWICE WITH NO SOLUTION AT THIS TIME. JUST AFTER A YR OF DRIVING AND 20K MILES MY BRAKES WERE NOT FEELING RIGHT. I TOOK MY VAN TO THE DEALER AND HAD THE PADS REPLACED. AT 35 THOUSAND I TOOK THE VAN BACK IN BECAUSE I HAD THE SAME ISSUE AGAIN. THE DEALER WANTED TO REPLACE ALL THE PADS AND TURN ROTORS. I WAS NOT HAPPY. THE PROBLEM I WAS TOLD GOT FIXED IN 2008. HAPPEN ONE MORE TIME AND HAS NOT HAPPENED IN THE LAST TWO DAYS. THE PULSATING/NOISE/VIBRATION ON EACH OCCURRENCE WAS ON EITHER SIDE OF THE FRONT BUT NOT THE BOTH SIDES AT ONCE. APPROXIMATELY 10,000 MILES LATER THE FAILURE RECURRED AND ONCE AGAIN THERE WAS NOT ENOUGH METAL TO MACHINE THE ROTORS. THE DEALER PROVIDED A NEW PAIR OF ROTORS AT NO COST HOWEVER, 12,000 MILES LATER THE PROBLEM RECURRED AND THE CONTACT WAS VERY CONCERNED ABOUT THE SAFETY OF THE VEHICLE. THE VEHICLE HAD NOT BEEN FURTHER REPAIRED. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 7,000 AND THE CURRENT MILEAGE WAS 34,000.

I HAVE HAD THE FRONT BRAKES REPLACE BY CHRYSLER 3 TIME SINCE JUNE 2009 AND THE ROTOR ONCE. I AM CURRENTLY EXPERIENCING A MASSIVE SHUTTER WHEN I APPLY THE BRAKES AT HIGHWAY SPEEDS (VERY DANGEROUS). I CONTACTED CHRYSLER AND THEY TOLD ME THE ROTORS ARE PROBABLY WARPED (AGAIN) AND THAT THEY ARE NO LONGER COVERED UNDER WARRANTY. I JUST HAD THEM DONE BEFORE 36K AND NOW I'M AT 50K. I PURCHASED NEW WAGNER ROTOR AND CERAMIC BRAKE PADS AND INSTALLED THEM MYSELF. FIRST TIME OUT THE SHUTTER IS STILL THERE. I CONTACTED CHRYSLER AGAIN AND TOLD THEM THE NEW EQUIPMENT (PER THEIR RECOMMENDATION) DID NOT WORK. THEY TOLD ME TO BRING IT IN AND FOR $95 THEY WILL TRY TO FIGURE OUT WHAT IS WRONG. SURFING THE INTERNET AND NHTSA INFO IT SOUNDS LIKE A TON OF PEOPLE ARE HAVING SIMILAR ISSUES AND THERE IS NO HELP FROM CHRYSLER OR NO RECALLS ON THE BRAKING SYSTEM. THIS SYSTEM IS DANGEROUS AND SOMEONE NEEDS TO STEP UP AND FIX IT. I HAVE 2 SMALL KIDS AND I AM AFRAID OF DRIVE/STOPPING THIS VEHICLE.
