Recall repair for Chrysler recall W09 did not work. Airbag emblem still peeled from steering wheel. In event that drivers airbag deploys the emblem would be launched at the drivers face which could cause injury.

My vehicle was involved in a bad accident on September 1, 2023. The Air Bags FAILED TO DEPLOY! As a result, my Daughter sustained injuries. My insurance company is chomping at the bit to crush it! They have already totaled it. They don't care that someone needs to investigate this accident and find out WHY THE AIR BAGS FAILED TO DEPLOY! GEICO is my insurance company. I want it checked out so that if there is a problem maybe you can issue some kind of recall. Please move with the utmost speed to beat the car to the crusher! Thank you!

Local chyrsler will not replace parts that have been recalled. I was told when to come in to have the parts replaced. they had the parts. I came in, after 3 hours they told me they had to order the parts. The next morning they emailed they had the parts. I could come in the next day at 2:00,I said ok. Then I received an email an hour later that my appointment was at 9:21 that morning,it was now about 11. I don't have a phone, and my emails were blocked when I tried to contact them. They are giving me the royal run around. Can you help me? Should I just forget the whole matter? Dealer is in Gaylord. ; ;
My wife had a collision with another vehicle. She rear ended a pick up truck. The airbags deployed sending a retainer from the driver side airbag into her cheek. The piece was embedded in her cheek from Dec 27 2022 until Jan 17 2023. She saw two doctors about the issue they thought she had a bump from the airbag deploying and a small cut. No one thought twice about it. On Jan 17 2023 she went to prompt care and told them she thinks there was something embedded they agreed and told her to contact a surgeon. The referral was placed for a surgeon however on the evening of Jan 17 2023 she scratched the scab and then the scab fell off and the little snap like retainer fell out.
There was no recall. It was an extended warranty sent to owners. We are the 2nd owner. Never recieved it. It is active head restraint x91. We spoke to chrysler they say the expiration was 11/11/2021. This is a hazard. The airbag is in the headrest. With it broken if the car us in an accident the headrest will impale the passenger. Chrysler knows this is a problem but will not extend the warranty for this issue. My vehicle is a 2010 chrysler town and country. The mileage is only 27,000. This should be covered.
My clock spring went out which causes the air bag light to stay on and now my air bags do not work. It had been confirmed by the dealership. And it happened 3/2022

I HAVE RECEIVED TWO LETTERS FROM FCA US LLC. THE FIRST INDICATED THAT A PROBLEM WITH THE AIRBAG'S THE LOGO, WHEN DEPLOYED, COULD CAUSE INJURY. THE SECOND, JUST RECEIVED, STATES; 'WE ARE EXTENDING THE ACTIVE RESTRAINT WARRANTY PERIOD BECAUSE SOME VEHICLES MAY EXPERIENCE INADVERTENT DEPLOYMENT(EMPHASIS MINE) OF ONE OR BOTH OF THE FRONT SEAT ACTIVE HEAD RESTRAINT(S). THIS, IN MY OPINION, MEANS THAT I AM DRIVING A VEHICLE THAT HAS TWO BOMBS ON BOARD THAT COULD DETONATE AT ANYTIME. THIS IS HUGE SAFTEY ISSUE FOR MY FAMILY, ESPECIALLY IF THE VEHICLE IS TRANSIT IN A HIGH SPEED DRIVING ENVIRONMENT. FCA NEEDS TO BE REQUIRED TO DISABLE THIS 'SAFETY SYSTEM' SO THAT THE VEHICLE CAN BE SAFELY USED WHILE PARTS ARE ORDERED TO REPLACE THIS DANGEROUS CONDITION. THE POTENTIAL FOR THE LOST OF LIFE BY AN INADVERTENT DEPLOYMENT COULD RESULT IN A SERIOUS LOSS OF LIFE IN A HIGH SPEED, CONGESTED ENVIRONMENT. WHO WOULD BE HELD LIABLE FOR SUCH A SCENARIO? THIS FAILURE RESULTS IN A VERY DANGEROUS SITUATION AND IN MY OPINION, THE VEHICLE IS UNSAFE TO DRIVE BECAUSE OF THIS PRODUCT DEFECT. THE INCIDENT HAS OCCURRED AT LEAST 6 MORE TIMES SINCE THE FIRST OCCURRENCE. I CONTACTED CHRYSLER BECAUSE THERE IS A RECALL FOR THE MAKE AND MODEL OF MY VEHICLE, BUT I WAS INFORMED THAT MY VEHICLE WAS MANUFACTURED ON OCTOBER 13, 2010, WHICH IS OUTSIDE THE WINDOW FOR THAT PARTICULAR RECALL. AGAIN, I REPEAT THAT THIS IS AN UNSAFE VEHICLE AND SOMEONE WILL GET SERIOUSLY INJURED AS A RESULT OF THIS DEFECT IF IT IS NOT REMEDIED ASAP. AGAIN, THE VEHICLE RANDOMLY AND WITHOUT WARNING WILL TURN ITSELF OFF IN THE MIDDLE OF DRIVING DOWN THE ROAD. ALL SYSTEMS POWER OFF AND IT IS A VERY DISTRESSING EVENT. ACCORDING TO THE SERVICE ADVISER JAY AT ED VOLYES CHRYSLER JEEP DODGE DEALERSHIP FIX WAS TO REPLACE WIRES AS AIR BAG WILL NOT FUNCTION IN CASE OF ACCIDENT. DEALERSHIP CHARGED FOR 3 HOURS OF LABOR AND DIAGNOSIS CHARGES PLUS PART. PROBLEM COULD COME BACK AGAIN FROM WHAT I UNDERSTAND AS SEATS ARE DESIGNED SO WE CAN MOVE IT AROUND (FRONT, BACK, UP, DOWN, ETC) ESPECIALLY WHEN YOU ARE DRIVING LONG DISTANCE AND IF YOU TAKE A BREAK TO RELAX. I WAS INVOLVED IN AN ACCIDENT WITH EXCESSIVE FRONT END DAMAGE AS WELL AS TOTALED THE CAR THAT WAS HIT BY ME. THE AIRBAGS NEVER DEPLOYED, FORTUNATELY, I WAS NOT INJURED. CHRYSLER REFUSES TO SPEAK TO ME ABOUT THESE THIS ISSUE. THAT KEEP TELLING ME THAT BECAUSE MY AUTO INSURANCE WAS INVOLVED THEN THEY WOULD HAVE TO DO A SUBROGATION REPORT. THIS IS UNTRUE AS PER MY INSURANCE COMPANY. THIS REPORT ONLY NEEDS TO BE FILLED OUT IF THE DRIVER OR PASSENGER'S WERE INJURED FROM THE ACCIDENT. WELL SINCE THERE WAS NO INJURIES, THEN THERE IS NO NEED FOR A REPORT. THIS INCIDENT IS A CONSUMERS COMPLAINT. CHRYSLER DOESN'T SEE IT THAT WAY. THEY ARE TRYING TO FIND EVERY EXCUSE IN THE BOOK TO NOT COOPERATE WITH MY COMPLAINTS. WHAT IS CHRYSLER WAITING FOR? SOMEONE TO DIE IF MY VAN IS TO BECOME INTO ANOTHER ACCIDENT? THE CONTACT STATED THAT WHILE DRIVING 15 MPH AND ATTEMPTING TO CROSS AN INTERSECTION, ANOTHER VEHICLE CRASHED INTO THE REAR OF THE CONTACT'S VEHICLE. THE AIR BAGS FAILED TO DEPLOY. A PASSENGER IN THE CONTACT'S VEHICLE SUSTAINED INJURIES TO THE LIP AND RIGHT SHOULDER. THE VEHICLE WAS DESTROYED AND TOWED TO A SALVAGE YARD. A POLICE REPORT WAS NOT FILED. MY WIFE WAS DRIVING ALONE, NORTH BOUND ON I 65 SOUTH OF LOUISVILLE, KENTUCKY WHEN THE BACK END OF THE VEHICLE SWAYED AND SHE PROCEEDED TO SLOW DOWN AND PULL OFF BY DRIVING ON TO THE RIGHT BERM. A TRACTOR WHICH WAS MOWING THE GRASS THE SIDE OF THE ROAD SWUNG UP ONTO THE PAVEMENT AND MY WIFE RAN INTO IT. THE TRACTOR DRIVER WAS EJECTED FROM THE TRACTOR. THE FRONT END OF THE TOWN & COUNTRY RECEIVED EXTENSIVE DAMAGE AND THE INSURANCE COMPANY STATED THAT THE VEHICLE WAS TOTALED. MY WIFE RECEIVED EXTENSIVE BRUISES TO HER RIGHT SIDE, AND HER FOREHEAD STRUCK THE STEERING WHEEL. BOTH BONES IN HER LEFT ARM WERE BROKEN, PROBABLY DUE TO THE FACT THAT THE AIR BAG DID NOT DEPLOY. SHE WAS TAKEN TO THE HOSPITAL IN LOUISVILLE, KENTUCKY. TWO DAYS LATER SURGERY WAS REQUIRED AS PLATES AND SCREWS WERE INSTALLED IN HER LEFT ARM TO HOLD THE BONES TOGETHER AND A CAST APPLIED. INSPECTION OF THE FRONT SEAT AFTER THE ACCIDENT SHOWED THAT THE HORN IN THE STEERING WHEEL STILL WORKED BUT THE COVER OF THE AIR BAG IN THE STEERING WHEEL WAS STILL SECURED. *TR

MY T&C BEGAN LEAKING FROM UNDER THE DASH ON THE PASSENGER SIDE. AT FIRST IT WAS INTERMITTENT AND USUALLY AFTER A HEAVY RAIN, WHEN I WOULD TURN ON MY AC/DEFROST/HEAT. WE HAD OUR VEHICLE INSPECTED FOR A LEAK. NONE WAS FOUND, NEITHER WAS THE SOURCE OF THE WATER COMING INSIDE THE VEHICLE. NOW THE WATER DRIPS ALL THE TIME,AS LONG AS THE HVAC CONTROLS ARE ON. IT IS NOW AFFECTING THE HVAC CONTROLS: ALTHOUGH I'M TRYING NOT TO RUN IT, WHEN ON I CAN FEEL THE COOL AIR BUT IT IS NOT BLOWING. I SUSPECT THE MOTORS TO THE HVAC AND POSSIBLY WIPERS ARE BEING EFFECTED BY WHATEVER IS GOING ON UNDER THE DASH. IT HAS ALL HAPPENED AROUND THE SAME TIME. THERE IS NO RECALL FOR THIS ISSUE FOR MY MODEL YEAR, BUT THE SAME EXACT ISSUE WAS RECALLED ON THE 08 MODEL. "THESE VEHICLES MAY EXPERIENCE A HEATING AND AIR CONDITIONER (HVAC) CONDENSATE LEAK FROM THE HVAC DRAIN GROMMET ONTO THE OCCUPANT RESTRAINT CONTROL (ORC) MODULE, WHICH CAN LEAD TO THE ILLUMINATION OF THE AIRBAG WARNING LIGHT AND A POTENTIAL INADVERTENT AIRBAG DEPLOYMENT WITHOUT WARNING. CONSEQUENCE:AN INADVERTENT AIRBAG DEPLOYMENT COULD RESULT IN INJURY TO THE SEAT OCCUPANT IN FRONT OF THE DEPLOYING AIRBAG AND/OR A VEHICLE CRASH." WHEN I TOLD THIS TO CHRYSLER CORP, THEY SAID THERE WAS NOTHING THEY COULD DO. SO I SAID, SO WHO DO I CALL TO SETTLE A LAW SUIT WHEN THE AIRBAG DEPLOYS WITH OUT WARNING AND CAUSES ME TO CRASH, PUTTING ME AND MY YOUNG CHILDREN IN SEVERE DANGER? SHE SAID, WELL YOU NEED TO GO TO A DEALERSHIP AND GET IT FIXED.I KNOW THAT, AND I WILL, BUT I THINK IT IS NEGLIGENT ON THEIR PART TO NOT ACCEPT FOR A MANUFACTURERS DEFECT THAT THEY ARE FAMILIAR WITH FROM PREVIOUS T&C YEARS. NOW I HAVE TO GO ACCRUE A HUGE BILL FOR CHRYSLER TO TAKE APART THE DASH AND FIX THEIR PROBLEM WITH MY VEHICLE. I JUST DON'T THINK IT'S RIGHT. *TR

THE PASSENGER ALSO SUSTAINED AN EYE INJURY. BOTH THE CONTACT AND THE PASSENGER WERE TRANSPORTED TO THE HOSPITAL FOR TREATMENT. THE POLICE WERE NOTIFIED AND A REPORT WAS FILED. THE VEHICLE WAS TOWED TO A SALVAGE YARD. THE CONTACT WAS WAITING INFORMATION FROM THE INSURANCE COMPANY TO DETERMINE THE CAUSE OF THE FAILURE. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOT NOTIFIED. ON JULY 5TH, 2011 THE ABOVE MENTIONED CHRYSLER VAN LEFT THE HIGHWAY AT A SPEED OF APPROXIMATELY 65 MILES AN HOUR AND ENTERED A DRAINAGE BASIN. THE VEHICLE CAME TO AN ABRUPT STOP WHEN THE FRONT OF THE VEHICLE CAME INTO CONTACT WITH AN EARTH "BERM" THAT ACTED AS A WALL FOR THE DRAINAGE BASIN. THE ENTIRE FRONT OF THE VEHICLE WAS DAMAGED TO A POINT THAT IT WAS CONSIDERED TO BE A TOTAL LOSS BY THE INSURANCE COMPANY. THE RADIATOR WAS PUSHED BACK INTO THE ENGINE COMPARTMENT AND THE FRONT BUMPER WAS PULLED COMPLETELY UNDER THE VEHICLE. TWO TIRES WERE FLATTENED AND SOME MINOR BODY DAMAGE WAS DONE TO THE REAR OF THE VEHICLE AS WELL. BUT, NOT A SINGLE AIR BAG DEPLOYED DURING, OR AFTER THIS INCIDENT.
