The van has a problem accelerating and also seems to stall while driving on the expressway before jumping quickly into acceleration there was a bad storm in Buffalo that I believe contributed to the problems of the Chrysler van
During random times; starting cold, starting warm, coming to a stop, accelarating, on city surface streets or on the freeway, after long drives or just going down the street; the minivan would stall and not restart. Fortunately able to coast to side of road on occassion. Non start condition would last between 15 minutes to days. This last event occured while turning in a busy intersection. Blocked cars and buses in all four directions on a Friday afternoon rush hour, putting ourselves and others at serious risk. There were no warning lights or anything other than a brief shudder before stalling. Roadside service called 911 first to get us out of the way. Towed to local mechanic who duplicated event and found that two separate recalls for faulty fuel pump relay was issued for other models but not our minivan. This family vehicle is now a liability if the fuel pump relay replacement is not made available to us.
The fuel pump is sporadically not getting power. This has left me stranded multiple times. I’m worried that this could happen while driving on the interstate and causing an accident.
Upon leaving work my battery (only installed for 3 months) was completely dead. After a co-worker jumped my van off I went straight to Advanced and had them check the battery. It showed something was still on/running however the keys were in my hand and absolutely nothing was on or plugged in. He went ahead and replaced my battery. The next day I went out on errands and it started fine. That evening I was taking my family out to dinner and it would not start. It would crank but not start. I put it in neutral and back into park and it did manage to start. The following morning I went out and it would only crank. It would not start and the lightening bolt symbol and check engine light came on. First we changed the throttle body sensor (as indicated by the light). It still wouldn't start. After I had it towed to a garage they said the TIPM was faulty and had caused the fuel pump to burn out. I have seen/read numerous other people saying this has happened to their vehicle as well. The exact same issues. This issue has cost me over $1,500 and I still haven't had the TIPM fixed yet. With as many complaints on the same issue there should be a recall on this since it is obviously a manufacturing issue.
The TIPM is failing, not allowing the van to start when it gets so cold out. We were quoted $2000 to get it repaired. We found an article stating this is a common issue and was being repaired by Chrysler.
The vehicle will crank but not start. This happened intermittently at first but is now a consistent issue. Through research I discovered that this is a common TIPM issue on this year Chrysler/Jeep/Dodge vehicles. A recall was placed for Jeep and Dodge however there has been no recall on Chrysler models with the same issue. This issue can cause the vehicle to not start as well as stall while driving which could potentially cause an accident. This recall needs to be in effect for Chrysler model vehicles with the sand issue as the Jeep and Dodge models
2011 Chrysler town and country, starts then shuts off after two seconds. Check engine light came on last night. Remote start disabled. Vehicle will not start via push button, must use key fob in place of pushbutton. Again remote start will not work. Vehicle starts and shuts off right away. From research done, cause being TIPM OR FUEL RELAY.
Fuel Pump Relay- the TPIM
TIPM is defective causing the car hard starting and stall.The fuel pump relay stays on draining the new battery . The car starts then shuts down after 2 seconds. The sliding doors open and close, horn stops, car alarm stops intermittently. I had to temporarily bypass the fuel pump relay.The cost of the TIPM replacement is $1500
MY TIPM IS FAILING SLOWLY. MY STARTER IS PULLING WAY TO MANY AMPS WHEN STARTING. I'VE CHANGED IT TWICE. MY FUEL RELAY HAS FAILED. A LOT OF THE TIMES WHEN I START MY CAR I HAVE AN ICON FOR MY ABS SENSOR COME ON AND THE ONLY WAY TO GET IT OFF IS TO PULL OVER AND RESTART MY CAR. WHEN THE LIGHT IS ON ON MY DASH. MY CAR WON'T DRIVE OVER 60MPH AND MY RPMS WILL RUN HIGH AND WHEN YOU LET OFF THE GAS WHILE IT'S DOING THIS IT WILL TAKE YOU ALMOST TO A STOP WITHIN SECONDS. MY CHECK ENGINE LIGHT NEVER GOES OFF. AND NO MATTER HOW MANY TIMES IT GETS TESTED AND RESET IT COMES BACK WITHIN HOURS. SO MY AUTO START NEVER WORKS. SOMETIMES WHEN I START MY CAR I CAN'T GET MY SEATBELT ALARM TO STOP SINGING SO I HAVE TO PULL OVER AND RESTART. IT ALL LEADS BACK TO THIS TIPM (ELECTRONICS BOARD BELOW THE FUSE BOX). I'VE HAD IT PRICED AT 1300$ TO FIX IT. BUT TURNS OUT IT'S THE MOST COMMON ISSUE WITH THIS YEAR OF THIS VAN. PLEASE HELP!

2011 CHRYSLER TOWN AND COUNTRY WITH 114,212 MILES. WHILE PARKED, THE CAR ACTS AND SOUNDS LIKE IT WANTS TO, BUT WILL NOT START. TOOK IT TO THE DEALERSHIP AND WAS DIAGNOSED WITH A BAD TIPM (TOTALLY INTEGRATED POWER MODULE) AND FUEL PUMP RELAY. THIS IS A KNOWN ISSUE AND THE SAME ISSUE IN RECALL P54/NHTSA 14V-530 FOR THE DURANGO AND GRAND CHEROKEE LAWSUIT SETTLEMENT BUT FOR SOME REASON THE TOWN AND COUNTRY AND OTHER CHRYSLERS PETITIONS WERE DENIED. AFTER TALKING TO CHRYSLER, THEY ONLY SUGGESTED THAT I KEEP MY RECEIPTS IN CASE IT WAS ACCEPTED AS A RECALL BUT WOULD NOT GIVE ANY FINANCIAL HELP ON A $1400 REPAIR BILL.

THIS MUST BE A RECALL CONCERN. CHRYSLER REALLY NEEDS TO STEP UP AND TAKE CARE OF THIS TIPM ISSUE. THE MOST COMMON PROBLEM WAS A DEFECTIVE TIPM THAT PREVENTED THE ENGINE FROM STARTING. THIS VAN FAILS WHILE THE CAR WAS BEING DRIVEN. TODAY 1-4-21, THE VAN IS AGAIN AT THE DEALERSHIP FOR REPAIRS FOR THE SAME ISSUE AGAIN AND AGAIN I CAN'T BELIEVE IT. THE TOWN & COUNTRY WOULD BE RUNNING SMOOTHLY ONE DAY AND FAIL TO START THE NEXT DAY. WHY RECALL CONCERNING THEM WAS NEVER ISSUED????
VEHICLE IS EXPERIENCING INTERMITTENT DEAD BATTERIES AND NO START ISSUES. HAD VEHICLE SHUT DOWN WHILE DRIVING AS WELL TO FUEL PUMP SHUTTING DOWN. AFTER DIAGNOSTIC FOUND THE FUEL PUMP WAS STAYING ON AFTER KEY WAS REMOVED KILLING THE BATTERY. THIS IS AN ISSUE WITH A BAD TIPM MODULE THAT HAD BEEN UNDER A RECALL ON THE PREVIOUS YEARS TOWN AND COUNTRY. CALLED THE DEALER TODAY ANS WAS TOLD ON THERE WERE NO OPEN RECALLS ON MY SPECIFIC VIN.

AFTER RESEARCHING THIS ISSUE, IT SEEMS THAT IT'S A KNOWN PROBLEM FOR MANY DODGE/CHRYSLER/JEEP MODELS IN 2011. THIS A DEFINITE HAZARD BECAUSE THE FUEL PUMP CONTINUES TO RUN EVEN WHILE EVERYTHING IS TURNED OFF.

WE DID REPLACE STARTER AND IT DID NOT RESOLVE THE ISSUE. HUSBAND IS ON DISABILITY FOR BRAIN TUMOR SO WE DO NOT HAVE A LOT OF RESOURCES TO TRY ELIMINATE.WOULD LIKE TO KNOW WHAT YOU HAVE SUGGESTED TO OTHERS THAT HAVE PUT COMPLAINTS IN FOR THE SAME ISSUES

TOOK IT TO A SHOP AND THEY SAID RHE FUEL PUMP WAS STILL ON WHILE THE CAR WAS OFF DUE TO A RELAY IN THE POWER MODULE SO THEY SAID THEY WILL BE ABLE TO JUST FIX IT BUT WHEN TRYING TO ORDER THE PIECE THEY SAID THAT WAS NOT POSSIBLE DUE TO ITS BEEN A RECALL ON THE TILL WHICH IS THE TOTALLY INTEGRATED POWER MODULE BUT JUST NOT ON MY VEHICLE AND IT'S NOT POSSIBLE TO CHANGE THE RELAY BECAUSE THEY HAVE IT ATTACHED TO THE POWER MODULE AND THIS IS SOMETHING THAT HAPPEN WITH THE MAUFACUTER SO YOU WILL HAVE TO CONTACT THEM SO THEY CAN HELP YOU WITH IT. BUT NOW I'M AFRAID TO DRIVE IT BECAUSE IT KEEPS AND SOMETIMES JUST CAUGHT RIGHT OFF ANYWHERE DUE TO THE TOTALLY INTEGRATED POWER MODULE

THEN I TOOK IT TO DEALERSHIP AFTER HAVING BATTERY AND ALTERNATOR TESTED (ALL GOOD) AND HAD TO BRING IT HOME CAUSE THEY WOULDN'T TAKE A PAYMENT PLAN. I LOOKED ON YOUTUBE FOR POSSIBLE ISSUES AND FIXES AND CHECKED MY WIRING TO MY TIPM AND FOUND ONE HARNESS TAMPERED WITH. TAPE CUT AND WIRES CUT AS WELL DIDN'T LOOK LIK THAT WHEN I TOOK IT IN. I'M UPSET BECAUSE I CAN'T AFFORD TO REPLACE SOMETHING THIS EXPENSIVE AND COMMON KNOWN ISSUE. WHY IS THERE NO RECALL ON THIS MODEL BUT OTHER MODELS RUNNING THIS SAME TIPM? THIS IS A CHEAP WAY FOR CHRYSLER TO GET MORE MONEY OUT OF US. MAKE THIS A RECALL, I CAN ONLY IMAGINE WHAT COULD'VE HAPPENED IF IT WOULD'VE STALLED WITH MY 3 KIDS IN THE CAR ON A HIGHWAY!!! IT IS RECALLED ON OTHER VEHICLES BUT NOT OUR VAN. IT WAS SUPPOSED TO COST $710 TO FIX BUT THE PART NUMBER HAS NOW BEEN SUPERSEDED WITH THE FIXED AND THE NOW WILL COST $950 TO FIX. WE SHOULD BE PAYING FOR REPAIRS FOR THIS WHEN THE SAME PART HAS BEEN RECALLED FOR OTHER VEHICLES! THE NEXT DAY, WE TRIED TO START IT AGAIN BUT THIS TIME THE ENGINE STRUGGLED TO START. IT TOOK A COUPLE OF TRIES BEFORE WE GOT IT STARTED. JUMPING THE ENGINE DID NOT HAVE POSITIVE RESULTS. WE DECIDED TO TAKE IT TO OUR AUTO MECHANIC AND HE DIAGNOSED A FAULTY FUEL PUMP RELAY. HE FOUND THAT FAULTY FUEL RELAYS ARE VERY COMMON IN 2011-2013 VEHICLES, BUT JEEP GRAND CHEROKEE AND DODGE DURANGOS WERE THE ONLY VEHICLES RECALLED AND FITTED WITH AN EXTERNAL RELAY. FAST FORWARD 1 YEAR LATER AND MY VEHICLE BEGINS TO INTERMITTENTLY SPUDDER WHEN COMING TO A COMPLETE STOP. I THEN BEGAN TO COMPLETLY SHUT OFF AT TIMES AFTER HIGHWAY DRIVING OVER A DISTANCE OF 5 OR MORE MILES WHEN I EXIT AND STOP OR SLOW DOWN AFTER EXITING THE HIGHWAY. WHEN I TOOK IT TO THE SHOP, THEY TEST DROVE THE VEHICLE AND IT STALLED ON THE HIGHWAY DURING THEIR TEST DRIVE DIAGNOSTIC. THEY HAD TO GET ASSISTANCE TO GET THE VEHICLE OUT OF THE ROAD. I HAVE TO UNPLUG THE FUSE TO THE FUEL PUMP EVERY TIME I GET OUT OF THE VEHICLE BECAUSE THE FUEL PUMP KEEPS RUNNING DRAINING MY BATTERY. I HAD TO PAY $200.00 TO REPLACE MY BATTERY. THE VAN ONLY HAS 87000 MILES AND A VERY WELL MAINTAINED HISTORY. I AM SCARED THIS VAN WILL FAIL AND SERIOUSLY HURT SOMEONE. THE RELAY ON THIS PARTICULAR DESIGN IS INTEGRATED INTO THE FUSE BOX, WHICH CHRYSLER CALLS A TOTALLY INTEGRATED POWER MODULE, OR TIPM. THE DESIGN MAKES IT PRONE TO FAILURE BECAUSE OF THE SIZE OF THE RELAY (TOO SMALL FOR THIS APPLICATION) AS EVIDENCED BY THE RECALL FOR JEEPS THAT USE THE SAME WIRING.

THE VEHICLE WAS REPAIRED BUT, WHEN THE TECHNICIAN TESTED THE VEHICLE, IT MISFIRED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOTIFIED OF THE FAILURE. THE APPROXIMATE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 92,000.

A MONTH AGO, THE CAR STOPPED ON A MAJOR HIGHWAY, I WAS FORTUNATE TO BE ABLE TO MAKE IT TO THE SHOULDER. HAD IT TOWED. DIAGNOSED AS FUEL PUMP GETTING NO POWER. THEY REPLACED THE FUEL PUMP. STILL HAVING INTERMITTENT ISSUES WITH STARTING. NOW, WITH NO WARNING THE VEHICLE JUSTS SHUTS DOWN COMPLETELY AS IF NO POWER. RADIO, EVERYTHING GOES DEAD FOR A FEWS SECONDS. THEN RADIO, LIGHTS COME ON WITH NO INTERVENTION. CAR CRANKED UP BOTH TIMES. HAS DONE THIS TWICE IN THE LAST TWO WEEKS. SOMEONE WILL GET HURT OR GOD FORBID, KILLED IF CHRYSLER DOES NOT STOP LYING AND TAKE CARE OF THIS DEFECT. CONSUMER'S SHOULD NOT BE FORCED TO PAY TO REPLACE THIS PART.

WE BOUGHT OUR CERTIFIED USED VAN IN MAY OF 2012. IN JUNE OF 2012 THE ALTERNATOR HAD TO BE REPLACED, AS THE BATTERY LIGHT CAME ON WHILE DRIVING ON THE HIGHWAY. WITHIN THE FIRST YEAR OF OWNERSHIP IT STARTED HAVING WEIRD QUIRKS: THE REAR HEATING SYSTEM WOULD COME ON WHILE DRIVING WITH THE TEMPERATURE CONTROLS OFF, THE PREVIOUSLY CLOSED WINDOWS WOULD BE ROLLED DOWN, AND SLIDING DOOR WOULD BE OPEN UPON RETURNING TO THE LOCKED VAN. IN NOVEMBER OF 2015 THE KEY FOB HAD BECOME SO SENSITIVE TO THE TOUCH THAT JUST A SLIGHT BUMP WOULD MAKE THE LOCK INDICATOR HONK SOUND. WE TOOK IT INTO A CHRYSLER DEALERSHIP IN DECEMBER OF 2015 AND A NEW KEY FOB AND SOFTWARE UPDATE STOPPED THE HONKING, THE SLIDING DOORS OPENING AND THE WINDOWS ROLLING DOWN. THE HEATING SYSTEM CONTINUED TO TURN ON BY ITSELF. IN JULY 2016 THE VAN STARTED BEING HARD TO START. WE HAD IT TOWED TO A GARAGE IN MICHIGAN, WHERE WE WERE VISITING, AND WE WERE TOLD THE CODE WAS A SECURITY ISSUE BETWEEN THE FOB AND THE STARTER. WE DROVE IT TO A DEALER IN MICHIGAN WHO COULD NOT DUPLICATE THE PROBLEM. DIFFICULTY STARTING THE VAN STARTED AGAIN IN OCTOBER 2016, ESPECIALLY AFTER A COLD NIGHT. ON OCTOBER 31, 2016, WHILE THE VAN WAS OFF IN THE DRIVEWAY I HEARD A NOISE LIKE A VACUUM COMING FROM UNDER THE VAN. WHEN I WENT TO UNLOCK AND START THE VAN IT WAS DEAD. AFTER HAVING THE BATTERY REPLACED, THE MECHANIC FRIEND WHO REPLACED IT HEARD THE NOISE AND SAID IT SOUNDED LIKE THE FUEL PUMP RUNNING (WHILE THE CAR WAS OFF). THE GARAGE WE TOOK IT TO FOUND THAT WE HAD A FAULTY TOTALLY INTEGRATED POWER MODULE (TIPM). SOME RESEARCH HAS SHOW US THAT THIS IS A COMMON PROBLEM FOR JEEP/DODGE/CHRYSLER VEHICLES THAT CAUSES AIRBAGS TO NOT WORK BECAUSE THE FUEL PUMP RUNS CONSTANTLY. THE ISSUE BEGAN WITH OUR VAN FREQUENTLY REQUIRING MORE THAN ONE ATTEMPT TO START THE ENGINE. THIS PROGRESSED UNTIL WE WERE UNABLE TO START THE VAN AT ALL. THIS CAUSES THE DOORS TO BECOME STUCK OPEN AND WILL NOT CLOSE. WHEN YOU ARE ON THE ROAD WITH THE DOORS STUCK OPEN, THIS IS NOT SAFE. THE DOORS NEED THE WIRING REPLACED WITH A HEAVY DUTY WIRE.

TRIES TO TURN OVER, AND DID START AFTER A LOT OF DIFFERENT EFFORTS ABOUT 7-8 TIMES(BY FULLY DEPRESSING GAS PEDAL WHEN IT WOULD TURN OVER TO START AND MAINTAIN RPMS 3-4000 FOR A MINIMUM OF 5-10 SECONDS) AND NOW WILL NOT START AT ALL. AFTER LAST ATTEMPTS TO START, AND VEHICLE NOT RUNNING, YOU CAN STILL HEAR THE FUEL PUMP OPERATING AND SMELL OF GASOLINE. BATTERY DRAIN WAS NOTICED WITH 24 HOURS, AND DEAD WITH IN 2 DAYS. WHEN VEHICLE HAD STARTED AND ABLE TO DRIVE A SHORT DISTANCE, IT WOULD SHUT OFF WHILE DRIVING, OR SHUT OFF UPON STOPPING FOR A SIGN OR RED LIGHT. IT HAS PLENTY OF VOLTAGE AND AMPERAGE TO CRANK, IT JUST WON'T. ALSO WHEN IT DOES CRANK IT WILL STALL OUT, ALTHOUGH, NOT EVERY TIME. SOMETIMES IT WILL CRANK NORMALLY AND OTHERS YOU NEED TO PRESS THE ACCELERATOR PEDAL. THIS ALSO APPEARS TO FIT THE TIPM SYMPTOMS EXACTLY. THE VAN HAS WORKED PERFECTLY UNTIL THIS ISSUE. THIS IS A DESIGN DEFECT THAT CHRYSLER SHOULD PAY TO CORRECT IN ALL AFFECTED VEHICLES. THE MOST RECENT OCCURRENCE WAS THE EVENING OF 6/26/16. I DROVE THE VEHICLE APPROXIMATELY 4 HOURS EARLIER AND IT CRANKED AND OPERATED NORMALLY, HOWEVER, THIS TIME IT WOULD NOT CRANK. THE INTERIOR LIGHTS AND A/C FAN ALL APPEAR TO OPERATE NORMALLY, HOWEVER, WHEN I TRIED TO CRANK THE VAN ALL OF THE LIGHTS FLICKERED BUT THE VAN DOES NOT CRANK. I DO NOT RECEIVE A LOW BATTER WARNING EITHER, BECAUSE THE BATTER IS BRAND NEW, REPLACED BY THE DEALER AT THE BEGINNING OF JUNE 2016. I ATTEMPTED SEVERAL MORE TIMES BUT THE VAN NEVER DID CRANK. JULY - DROVE THE VAN DOWN TO MYRTLE BEACH AND THE CHECK ENGINE LIGHT CAME ON AND WE LOST ALL POWER TO VEHICLE. HAD IT TOWED TO A REPAIR SHOP AND THEY SAID WE NEEDED A NEW ALTERNATOR AND BATTERY. GOT IT FIXED TO THE TUNE OF ALMOST $1,000. RECENTLY (LATE OCT-CURRENT) MY WIFE WENT OUT TO START IT LAST WEEK AND IT WOULDN'T START. JUST CRANKED AND CRANKED, THEN AFTER SEVERAL TRIES, IT STARTED UP LIKE NOTHING WAS WRONG. TOOK IT TO OUR MECHANIC AND THEY SAID IT WAS SOMETHING ELECTRONIC TOLD US THEY COULDN'T REPLICATE THE PROBLEM, WHICH I BASICALLY TOLD THEM THAT THEY WERE CRAZY BECAUSE IT HAS DONE IT EVERY MORNING FOR THE LAST WEEK. FINALLY NARROWED IT DOWN TO THE TIPM, WHICH BY THE WAY IS ON BACK ORDER FOR GOD KNOWS HOW LONG, AND NOT ONLY DO WE HAVE TO PAY FOR IT, . SO... NOW WHAT? I HAVE NO VEHICLE AND HAVE NO IDEA HOW LONG IT WILL BE. CHRYSLER IS DOING NOTHING TO HELP EVEN THOUGH THERE ARE HUNDREDS OF COMPLAINTS ABOUT THIS ISSUE- THE HAVE RECALLED THE DURANGOS AND CHEROKEES FOR THE SAME PROBLEM BUT FAILED TO DO ANYTHING WITH THE GRAND CARAVANS AND TOWN AND COUNTRY... WE BOUGHT A $25,000 VEHICLE SO WE DIDN'T HAVE ISSUES LIKE THIS... I'VE ALWAYS BEEN A CHRYSLER PERSON MYSELF BUT AM HAVING SECOND THOUGHTS ABOUT OUR NEXT VEHICLE.

THE TIPM RECALL FOR JEEP AND DURANGO SHOULD BE EXTENDED TO ANY VEHICLE WITH THAT SPECIFIC PART, INCLUDING MY VEHICLE, THE 2011 CHRYSLER TOWN AND COUNTRY. MY TIPM IS THE SAME PART THAT WAS RECALLED IN OTHER VEHICLES, IT SHOULD BE FOCUS OF THE RECALL, NOT THE HOST VEHICLES WITH THE MOST COMPLAINTS. MY VEHICLE EXHIBITED THE EXACT SYMPTOMS AS THOSE DESCRIBED IN COMPLAINTS THAT TRIGGERED THE RECALL OF THE TIPMS. MY TOWN AND COUNTRY WOULD NOT START WHETHER COLD OR HOT, HOME OR IN A STRANGE PARKING LOT, IF IT WAS PARKED OR STALLED WHILE DRIVING. IT GOT TO THE POINT WHEN MY WIFE WAS STRANDED AWAY FROM HOME. MY LOCAL MECHANIC, NARROWED IT DOWN TO THE TIPM, HOWEVER WAS NOT EQUIPPED TO REPLACE AND PROGRAM THE NEW PART. THE DEALERSHIP THAT I TOOK IT TO DISMISSED THE PROBLEM AND INSISTED IT WAS THE FUEL PUMP. IT WAS NOT THE FUEL PUMP AND AFTER HAVING MY OWN MECHANIC REPLACE THE FUEL PUMP, THE TIPM DEFECT CONTINUED FROM THE MOMENT OF THE FUEL PUMP REPAIR. I WAS ABLE TO MAIL THE TIPM ITSELF TO A GAUGE REPAIR SPECIALIST WHO INSTALLED A NEW FUEL PUMP RELAY DIRECTLY TO THE CIRCUIT BOARD FOR $100.00. THE VEHICLE STARTED WITHOUT SYMPTOMS AS SOON AS THE REPAIRED TIPM WAS INSTALLED. A CHRYSLER SERVICE MEMBER LET ME KNOW THAT THE SYMPTOM SOUNDED LIKE THE FUEL PUMP RELAY WHICH IS SOLDERED TO THE BOARD, THE ONLY CHRYSLER EMPLOYEE REMOTELY INTERESTED IN HELPING ME. MADE SCENTS TO ME SO I WENT WITH AN OUTSIDE SOLUTION. THE GAUGE REPAIR SPECIALIST HAD REPAIRED HUNDREDS OF THIS SAME TIPMS BEFORE THEY WERE RECALLED. I WOULD EXPECT THE SAME RECALL FOR ALL TIPMS REGARDLESS OF THE VEHICLE IN WHICH THEY WERE INSTALLED. THE FACT THAT THE PART IN MY VEHICLE WAS BACKORDERED DO TO THE RECALL SUBSTANTIATES THE IDEA THAT IT SHOULD BE INCLUDED IN THE RECALL. AS YOU ARE PROBABLY ALREADY AWARE, THIS FIX WAS NOT PERMANENT; YET THE DEALERSHIP SAYS "ALL 'WORK IS COMPLETED". NO YOU DID NOT FIX TIPM; JUST "INSTALLED EXTERNAL FUEL PUMP RELAY". WE WOULD LIKE OUR VEHICLE RESTORED TO ITS ORIGINAL CONDITION.

I TOOK IT BACK TO THE DEALER AND THEY TOLD ME THE TIPM WAS NOT SENDING A SIGNAL TO THE FUEL PUMP AND HAD TO BE REPLACED. IT WAS NOT COVERED AND IT COST ME $1050.05 TO REPLACE. THIS SEEMS TO BE A MAJOR ISSUE WITH CHRYSLER VEHICLES.

THE VEHICLE WOULD NOT START FOR LACK OF FUEL REACHING THE ENGINE. THE PROBLEM WAS THE FAILURE OF THE INTERNAL TOTALLY INTEGRATED POWER MODULE CAUSING THE FUEL PUMP RELAY TO SHUT OFF. I HAD SEVERAL CONVERSATIONS WITH CHRYSLER AND DURING CONVERSATIONS LEARNED THERE WAS A SHORTAGE OF THE PARTS WHICH INDICATES THIS IS A FREQUENTLY OCCURRING SYSTEMIC FAILURE AS WELL AS A SAFETY ISSUE. CHRYSLER IS CURRENTLY EXPERIENCING MASSIVE RECALLS FOR FUEL PUMP ISSUES. HOWEVER, THE TIPM MODULE FAILURE IS NOT PRESENTLY INCLUDED IN A RECALL.
