The Battery died and would not recharge. I checked the van. No lights were left on; no warning notifications. I replaced the battery. I had the seat behind the driver seat stowed because I had surgery on my left foot and needed to haul my knee cart with me. I no longer needed it so I raised the seat and found it had melted/burnt in several spots on the seat back. I was mortified! My van is a 2013 but is in great shape and only has 46,937 miles on it. It was parked in my garage and could have caused a house fire killing all occupants. I contacted Chrysler. They won't assist in the repair or replacement stating it hadn't been recalled and was no longer in warranty. Insurance denied the claim due to it being a part malfunction. Please let others know that the seat heater & wiring harness are defective!! I feel Chrysler should accept the responsibility pay for the repairs due to defective parts. Had this fire continued, they would be facing a much larger lawsuit such as wrongful death, etc.

* My Van loses unexpected power while driving. With this happening, I am afraid to drive on the highway due to the risk of causing an accident if it loses power. Local street driving, I am afraid that someone will rear end me if it loses power. Once it lose power making a right turn onto another street. Fortunately, there were no other cars coming toward me. I was able to re-start the Van and drove on. The Van is a hazard for myself and others. * Do not know exactly what component or system failed or malfunctioned. * Have had 2 diagnostics done. One at the Dealer and one at an independent car repair shop. Neither one found anything. *Occasionally, the Lighting Bolt symbol will show. *Alternator has been replaced. TPMS sensor changed out. TIPM sensor changed out.

The passenger side rear sliding door will not lock and it periodically opens on its own. There is no warning or reason for this occurrence. It has happened multiple times and seems to be happening more often as time goes on. The vehicle has not been professionally inspected.

We have had to replace 2 faulty flywheels (a.k.a. flexplates) in our Chrysler Town & Country. The mechanics report that the composite materials used in creating these flywheel/flexplate parts were "less structurally sound than they should have been; therefore causing premature breakdown/failure in otherwise acceptable conditions."

The key ignition is loose you have to hold the key in place for it to not loose power at all. If you move your hand it will loose power it does that most of the time. So I hold the key in at all times

I purchased this van used in 2023, but this problem has been on going for years thebowner said.The van sliding door get stuck in open position on right side. There is a buzzing noise coming from lock mechanism in left sliding door when you open ANY door or press the unlock button. There is no recalls for this but it is a known problem. Issues with faulty 2013 chrysler town and country mini van are currently in lawsuit claims. Help fix this before it kills someone. I have 3 small children if the door opens while driving that puts us in danger.

The van has repeatedly (5 seperate times) stalled in the middle of driving. The electronics will remain on, but the power steering goes out and the van decelerates to a complete stop. When I try to start the van immediately after, the ignition turns over, but the engine does not start. After a period of 10-30 minutes the van will start up fine. We’ve had the van to our mechanic and there are no codes. The first time it stalled in the middle of a 2 lane road, on a blind curve, with no shoulder to pull off on. The second time was on interstate 75. I now know when it happens to start searching for a safe place to pull off the road, however once it happens I am limited on the distance the van will travel before it stops. Depending on the seed I’m traveling it’s usually only a couple hundred feet.

I got my 2013 chrysler town and country of a local used car dealership. I’ve had it almost 2 years. The transmission is now going out. I’ve been told it’s probably a design flaw inside the transmission as so many other people are having the same problems with the 62te transmissions. It has 102,000 miles. I got it it when it had 90,000. There is no warranty.

Horn, and door locks activate randomly. Now vehicle will crank but not turn over. Research and troubleshooting confirms a bad TIPM which was recalled in other Dodge and Jeep vehicles, but not the Chrysler Town and Country.

I just bought the van while dropping off the kids 10-year-old and a nine-year-old at the schools drop off lane from the driver side rear sliding door while they were coming out of the door. The door closed on them. I had to stick my hand from the back of the drvers seat to stop and it was pushing against my hand .it this has happened three times, it appears that the door is not locking open when it’s commanded to open .

I’ve recently purchased this vehicle used, it had 117,000 miles when purchased. Twice in the month I have had it has it stalled out at high speeds on the interstate. Lost all power, no power steering, would not crank over. No warning lights of any potential issues prior to either instances. Not showing a check engine light after either. This could have been deadly for myself, my children. And any other driver on the road as we lost the ability to control the vehicle.

While I was driving, the head rest popped apart making an extremely loud noise and hitting me in the back of the head with a great amount of force. I thought I had been rear ended it was so hard. I’m in pain and lucky I had just pulled off the highway because I would have wrecked. Chrysler needs to do something about this. It was bad. Consumer had sore head and neck injuries. On multiple occasions while driving, the vehicle has simply powered itself off without warning. In addition to the engine cutting off, all interior features and lights also lose power. To restart the vehicle, you must remove the key from the ignition, put the car in park, and then put the key back in with your foot on the brake. This is incredibly dangerous. Diagnostic error codes do not capture the cause of the issue.

AFTER THE HEADREST, IT TOOK A LITTLE BIT TO GET MY SENSES BACK...AFTER MY SON CAME OUT, WE HEADED BACK TOWARDS HOME WHICH WAS ABOUT HOUR AND 15 MIN RIDE BACK.. ON AUGUST 14 , 2019 MY VAN BROKE DOWN ON THE INTERSTATE. A FEW HOURS LATER MY CAR STARTED BACK UP. I CONTINUED TO DRIVE MY CAR UNTIL ABOUT 2 WEEKS LATER IT BROKE DOWN AGAIN ON THE INTERSTATE. SINCE THAT TIME I HAVE HAD OVER 10 BRAKE DOWNS THAT OCCURED INTERMITTENTLY WITHOUT ANY SORT OF PATTERN TO THE FREQUENCY OR SERVERITY. MY CAR STALLED WITHOUT WARNING AND SHUT DOWN WHILE IN MOTION. MY CAR LOSS POWER AND BECAME HARD TO STEER AND THE BRAKE ASSIST SHUT DOWN. THERE WERE NO WARNING LIGHTS, SOUNDS, OR VISUAL CUES TO INDICATE ANY SORT OF PROBLEMS. BECAUSE OF THIS SUDDEN SHUT DOWN IT HAS BECOME EXTREMELY DANGEROUS AND ALARMING TO THE SAFETY OF MYSELF AND FAMILY TO DRIVE. AFTER THE FIRST TWO INCIDENTS I TOOK MY CAR TO THE CHRYSLER DEALERSHIP, AND PAID FOR A DIAGNOSTIC TEST. THEY CONCLULED THAT THEY COULD NOT DUPLICATE STALLING CONDITIONS AND THEREFORE NO RESOLUTION TO THE PROBLEM WAS GIVEN. AFTER THE PROBLEM CONTINUED I TOOK MY CAR TO ANOTHER LOCAL REPAIR SHOP. THEY ADVISE ME OF SEVERAL POSSIBLE PROBLEMS BASED ON THE CHECK ENGINE CODE. I HAVE SPENT COUNTLESS OF HOURS AND MONEY TO FIND OUT WHAT IS WRONG WITH MY VAN. I HAVE BEEN GIVEN VARIOUS RECOMMENDATION: REPLACING THERMOSTATE, GASKETS AND COOLANT TEMP SENSOR, ERG VALVE REPLACEMENT, BAD ICM, BAD ESC MODULE, BAD KEY FOB, BAD IGNITION NODE, CRANK SENSORS, MODULE COIL PACK, TIPM REPLACEMENT AND THE LIST GO ON AND ON. TO RESOLVE THIS PROBLEM, I WOULD APPRECIATE THAT CHRYSLER CORPORATION PIN POINT THE PROBLEM AND PROVIDE A REPAIR OPTION THAT DOES NOT REQUIRE ME TO REPLACE EVERY SINGLE PART OF MY VEHICLE TO BE ABLE TO SAFELY DRIVE AGAIN. MY FRIEND AND I HAD JUST FINISHED SHOPPING AT THE MALL. I DOUBLE CLICKED MY FOB TO OPEN THE VEHICLE (MINI-VAN) TAILGATE AND IT OPENED AS USUAL. I REACHED IN TO ARRANGE SOME PACKAGES AND WAS SUDDENLY HIT "HARD" ON THE TOP OF MY HEAD. THE TAILGATE CONTINUED PUSHING HARD DOWNWARD WITH AN ADDITIONAL FORCE. MY ONLY ESCAPE WAS TO DROP AND ROLL AWAY FROM IT. THIS PUT ME INTO THE DRIVE THRU LANE FOR ENTERING TRAFFIC. FORTUNATELY NO CARS WERE ENTERING AT THAT INSTANT, HOWEVER PEOPLE DRIVING THROUGH WERE STOPPING TO CHECK IF I WAS OK; NOT TO MENTION OTHER IMPATIENT ONES HONKING THEIR HORNS TO GET TRAFFIC MOVING AGAIN!. WHEN I ARRIVED HOME, I TRIED TO REPEAT THE PROCESS WHILE MY WIFE RECORDED IT ON HER CELL PHONE. THE TAILGATE/DOOR APPEARS TO SNAP ABOUT HALF WAY DOWN, THEN MOMENTARILY STALL WHILE THE POWER MECHANISM ENGAGES TO ENSURE COMPLETE CLOSURE OF THE DOOR. I HAVE REPORTED THIS TO CHRYSLER (COMPLAINT NUMBER 63236930), BUT HAVE NOT RECEIVED ANY RESPONSE. TO CONCLUDE, THE PROBLEM WAS A RESULT OF A FAILED LIFT-GATE AIR CYLINDER. I HAVE SINCE HAD THIS REPLACED. THIS IS A REAL HAZARD AND PAINFUL AS WELL. CHRYSLER AND/OR ANY OTHER MANUFACTURER SHOULD HAVE A SAFER LATCH OR INTER-LOCK SYSTEM TO ENSURE THAT THIS WILL NOT HAPPEN. THIS DESIGN IS JUST WAITING TO FAIL. IT CAN'T BE THAT DIFFICULT TO DESIGN A SIMPLE/SAFE LATCH. COST CAN'T BE A CONCERN; JUST LOOK WHAT THESE VANS ARE SELLING FOR.

ON 6/11/19 I TOOK MY VAN TO HAVE A OIL CHANGE AND TIRES ROTATED. ABOUT 30 MINUTES LATER MY VAN DINGED AND THE BRAKE LIGHT, ABS LIGHT, TRACTION LIGHTS CAME ON AND THE SPEEDOMETER QUIT WORKING. I TOOK IT BACK TO THE GARAGE AND TOLD THEM WHAT HAPPENED. IT WAS THERE THAT I FOUND OUT THE ELECTRIC DOORS DID NOT WORK. THEY SAID THEY HADN'T DONE ANYTHING THAT WOULD CAUSE THAT. THEY SENT ME TO A GARAGE BEHIND THEM. THEY COULD FIND ANYTHING ON THEIR MACHINE. RESET THE LIGHTS AND I LEFT. WITHIN A FEW FEET THE LIGHTS CAME BACK ON AND THE SPEEDOMETER QUIT. I TOOK IT TO MY MECHANIC. HE COULD NOT FIND THE PROBLEM. THE SPEEDOMETER AND THE ELECTRIC DOORS DID START WORKING AGAIN. HE SENT ME TO RAMEY'S CHRYSLER PRINCETON WV. ON 6/17/19 THEY SAID IT WAS A RIGHT REAR WHEEL SENSOR. MY MECHANIC PUT IT ON BUT IT DIDN'T FIX THE PROBLEM. HE SENT ME BACK TO RAMEY'S. ON 7/10/19 THEY SAID I NEEDED THE RIGHT FRONT WHEEL SENSOR. THAT DIDN'T FIX THE PROBLEM. I HAD THE WHEEL BEARINGS CHECKED BUT THEY WERE ALRIGHT. I TOOK MY VAN BACK ON 7/24/19 1:00PM PER MY MECHANIC REQUEST TO CHECK THE TIPM MODULE AND TO CALL HIM SO HE COULD TALK TO SOMEONE UP THERE. THEY SAID THAT IT MIGHT NOT BE THAT AND I NEEDED TO LEAVE THE VAN THERE SO THEY COULD DO AN IN-DEPTH ANALYSIS. I HAVE NOT HEARD FROM THEM AND THEY HAVE NOT CALLED MY MECHANIC. I EVEN ASK ON FB IF ANYONE WOULD KNOW WHAT THE PROBLEM WAS. MOST SAID THAT THEY COULD NOT FIND A SOLUTION SO THEY JUST DRIVE IT THE WAY IT IS. I NEED MY CRUISE CONTROL DUE TO MY BACK AND LEGS. I THINK THIS IS A SAFETY ISSUE AND SOMEONE NEEDS TO FIND OUT WHAT IS GOING ON. I HAVE PAID OVER $300 AND STILL DON'T KNOW WHAT THE PROBLEM IS. THANK YOU.

HE TOLD ME THAT THOSE CARS HAVE A EXTENDED WARRANTY OF 10 YEARS 150,000 MILES WHICH EVER COMES FIRST. BUT IT IS NOT SHOWING UP. HE TOLD ME THAT I SHOULD CALL THE CHRYSLER GROUP AND FIND OUT ABOUT THE EXTENDED WARRANTY. I HAVE SPOKEN TO NUMEROUS REPS AND GET A RUN AROUND. MY VEHICLE SHOULD BE COVERED. IT HAS THE SAME PIECE DAMAGED, MOTOR IS THE SAME AND MODEL IS THE SAME. TO REPAIR THIS PIECE IT IS $2,500 IN LABOR AND $800 THE PIECE. I CANNOT AFFORD THIS. WE PURCHASED OUR TOWN & COUNTRY NEW IN 2012. WE'VE PUT JUST OVER 51,000 MILES ON IT. IT'S BEEN A GREAT VEHICLE. WE'VE BEEN TO FLORIDA AND BACK TWICE (21 HR DRIVE), AND ALL OVER THE EASTERN HALF OF THE COUNTRY. IT WAS A GREAT VEHICLE THUS FAR SO I EXPECTED IT TO LAST UNTIL WELL OVER 51,000 MILES. ALL OF A SUDDEN A FEW MONTHS AGO, WHILE DRIVING, THE VAN WOULD JUST SHUT OFF. LOSS OF POWER STEERING, RADIO OFF, NOTHING. YOU HAVE TO ATTEMPT TO PULL OVER TO THE SIDE OF THE ROAD WITH NO POWER STEERING, PUT THE VEHICLE IN PARK, AND TURN IT BACK ON. IT DOES THIS RANDOMLY. IT'S DONE IT WHILE I'VE BEEN ON A HIGHWAY DRIVING 65 MPH AND IT'S DONE IT IN TOWN DRIVING 25-30 MPH. WE NEVER KNOW WHEN IT WILL HAPPEN. IT'S EXTREMELY DANGEROUS, COULD POTENTIALLY KILL MY FAMILY, AND IT'S AMAZING HOW MANY OF THE SAME STORY I'VE READ ABOUT THIS VEHICLE. REAR AC EVAPORATOR ENDED UP HAVING A LEAK, NEEDED TO BE REPLACED LIKE MANY OTHER CHRYSLER TOWN & COUNTRYS AND DODGE CARAVANS OF THESE YEARS. APPARENTLY, IT'S PRETTY COMMON FOR THESE TO HAVE DAMAGE THROUGH NORMAL USE OF THE VEHICLE, CONSIDERING THE REAR EVAPORATOR IS DIRECTLY BEHIND THE REAR PASSENGER WHEEL WELL. THERE ISN'T ANY FORM OF PROTECTION FOR THIS PART OF THE SYSTEM, MAKING IT FRAGILE, AND NORMAL DRIVING WILL KICK UP ENOUGH ROCKS, DEBRIS, AND DIRT TO CAUSE DAMAGE. HAD MINE FIXED IN AUGUST 2017 ON A 2013 TOWN & COUNTRY, DOESN'T SEEM TO BE A RECALL. NOT THE CHEAPEST REPAIR IN THE WORLD, AT ROUGHLY $1,000, ALL DUE TO POOR DESIGN CONSIDERATIONS.

WE BOUGHT THIS CAR WITH ABOUT 60,000 MILES ON IT IN 2016 AND SUDDENLY THE BLIND SPOT MONITORING SYSTEM STOPPED WORKING. IT'S SOLD AS A SAFETY FEATURE BUT THERE IS A FLAW IN THE DESIGN THAT ALLOWS RAIN, SNOW, MUD ETC TO GET INTO THE SENSOR AND CREATE MALFUNCTION. THIS FEATURE ALERTS THE DRIVER WHEN THERE IS A VEHICLE IN THE BLIND SPOT, AND THE DRIVER RELYS ON THIS FEATURE QUITE A BIT BECAUSE THERE ARE HUGE BLIND SPOTS IN DUE TO THE DESIGN OF THE CAR. WHEN THE SENSOR GOES OUT, IT COSTS 2000.00 TO FIX AND THERE IS A CHIME AND FLASHING LIGHTS EVERY MINUTE WHICH IS A HUGE DISTRACTION TO THE DRIVER AND IT'S VERY FRUSTRATING! AS AN OWNER OF THIS VEHICLE, I'VE LEARNED TO RELY ON THE BLIND SPOT MONITORING SYSTEM TO ASSIST MY DRIVING AND KEEP ME SAFE. THIS IS A VERY COMMON PROBLEM AND HAS THE POTENTIAL TO CAUSE VERY SERIOUS INJURIES.

DEALER CLAIMS IT IS A COMMON OCCURRENCE WITH THE REAR SENSOR BEHIND THE BUMPER AND SINCE IT IS NOT CONSIDERED A "SAFETY ISSUE" BECAUSE IT CAN BE TURNED OFF IT WILL COST OVER $1000 TO FIX. WHO CAN HONESTLY SAY THAT A BLIND SPOT MONITOR AND CROSS PATH DETECTION IS NOT A SAFETY FEATURE THAT I PAID A LOT OF EXTRA MONEY TO HAVE IN THE FIRST PLACE. IT IS WRONG TO NOT HAVE A RECALL AND/OR HAVE THIS COVERED UNDER WARRANTY.

MY 2013 CHRYSLER TOWN & COUNTRY HAS AN EXHAUST LEAK. THE EXHAUST FUMES COME INTO THE CABIN AREA OF THE VEHICLE WHEN DRIVING. LINWOOD MOTORS IN PADUCAH, KY 42001 PHONE # 800-326-7604 HAVE WORKED ON THE VEHICLE SEVERAL TIMES. THE MECHANICS AT LINWOOD MOTORS CLAIM TO HAVE REPLACED THE EXHAUST SYSTEM TWICE, BUT IT STILL LEAKS. ON JULY 14, 2014 FOUND EXHAUST LEAKING INTO A/C VENTS & BLOWING INTO CAB. TECH REPLACED ENTIRE EXHAUST SYSTEM. TEST DROVE WITH CARBON DIOXIDE MONITOR FROM WALMART, WHICH WILL ONLY DETECT AT 30 PPM'S OR HIGHER. IF THE MONITOR HAD INDICATED THAT THERE WAS CARBON MONOXIDE IN THE CAB; A PERSON COULD ONLY BE EXPOSED TO HIS LEVEL FOR ONE HOUR BEFORE NEEDING TO BE REMOVED TO FRESH AIR! WHEN THE VEHICLE WAS RETURNED TO US, IT STILL WAS LEAKING EXHAUST FUMES INTO THE CAB. WE MADE AN APPOINTMENT TO PUT THE VEHICLE BACK INTO THE SHOP AT LINWOOD MOTORS ON SEPTEMBER 8, 2014 AT 2 PM. WHEN MY WIFE AND I ARRIVED AT LINWOOD MOTORS RICK KUPPER AND KEVIN JONES REFUSED TO PUT THE 2013 CHRYSLER T&C INTO THE MAINTENANCE SHOP BECAUSE THEY HAD EXPENDED ALL THE RESOURCES THE COMPANY WOULD ALLOW. AFTER THE 2013 CHRYSLER T&C HAS SET IN MY YARD FOR 16 MONTHS CHRYSLER HAS FINALLY AGREED TO SETTLE AND BUYBACK THE VEHICLE. MY NEW CONCERN IS THAT CHRYSLER WILL PUT THE VEHICLE BACK ON THE MARKET AND SALE IT WITHOUT FIXING THE 2013 CHRYSLER T&C. MY WIFE HAD A STROKE ON JUNE 20, 2014 AND OUR DOCTORS ADVISED US TO QUIT DRIVING THE 2013 CHRYSLER T&C; BECAUSE MY WIFE'S DOCTOR BELIEVES THE EXHAUST LEAK CONTRIBUTED TO HER STROKE. I HAD TO PURCHASE ANOTHER VEHICLE TO DRIVE AND LOST INTEREST ON MY MONEY THAT I HAD TO USE FROM SAVINGS. CHRYSLER HAS MADE A BELIER OUT OF ME!!! STEERING WHEEL CONTROLS INCLUDING THE HORN AND POSSIBLY THE STEERING WHEEL AIR BAG ARE INTERMITTENT. >>SO FAR ON THREE SEPARATE OCCASIONS WHILE STOPPED & DRIVING ALL ELECTRICAL PARTS OF THE STEERING WHEEL HAVE JUST QUIT FOR A DAY OR TWO AND THEN FOR NO REASON BEGIN WORKING AGAIN. UNFORTUNATELY EVERY TIME IT GOES DEAD AND WE ARRANGE TO TAKE IT IN FOR SERVICE IT STARTS WORKING AND THE DEALER SAYS THEY CAN'T DO ANYTHING UNLESS IT IS COMPLETELY BROKEN AND NOT INTERMITTENT. SINCE CHRYSLER MINIVANS HAVE BEEN RECALLED IN THE PAST FOR THIS "CLOCK SPRING" PROBLEM, CHRYSLER SHOULD AUTHORIZE REPLACEMENT OF THIS KNOWN SAFETY DEFECT (NO HORN OR AIRBAG INTERMITTENTLY WITH OUT WARNING) WITHOUT BEING REQUIRED TO DO SO BY THE GOVERNMENT. I GUESS I COULD AUTHORIZE THE DEALER TO REPLACE THE KNOWN INTERMITTENT CLOCK SPRING AT MY OWN EXPENSE AND THEN HOPE THAT SOONER OR LATTER THE RECALL IS EXPANDED TO INCLUDE THE 2013 MODEL YEAR. OR I CAN HOPE IT QUITS LONG ENOUGH TO BE TAKEN TO THE DEALER WITH DEAD ELECTRICAL PARTS ON THE STEERING WHEEL BEFORE MY 36 MONTH/36,000 MILE WARRANTY RUNS OUT THIS JUNE . I ATTEMPTED TO TURN THE WHEEL WHILE STOPPED AND WHILE DRIVING TO BOTH GET IT WORKING AGAIN WHEN NOT WORKING AND ALSO TO GET IT GO GO DEAD AGAIN AT THE DEALER WHEN IT WAS WORKING BUT THE INTERMITTENT PROBLEM DOES NO SEEM TO HAVE ANY PATTERN OF BE EFFECTED BY STEERING WHEEL MOVEMENT. THE THIRD TIME IT QUITE WAS SATURDAY NIGHT 9 JAN 2016 AND BEGAN WORKING ON MONDAY 11 JAN 2016 ON THE WAY TO THE DEALER.
