Both head rest which is attached to airbags or have airbags in them I don’t know but the exploded open. Headrest could have exploded while someone was in the seat and got head injuries. No problem has not been confirmed by anyone but myself,husband and self employed mechanic, I didn’t know what to do. No, no type of warning before it happen. Passenger one exploded January 2025, driver exploded about May 2025.
The passenger side head rest popped out on it's own. Was parked when it happened.
the catalytic converter is making my engine run rough and can't get it inspected because of it. It's costing me more to run the vehicle and I can't afford to get into an accident when the engine stalls.
Put gear shift into park position while parking car. Car did not register that it was supposed to be in park and stayed in drive. Gear was stuck and was unable to shift. Turned car off and car would not turn back on, as well as the shifter not being able to move
Window Defrost and Passenger Heat /Air. While either in motion or while driving, no heated air exits the passenger side of the windshield defroster, nor the passenger window defrost, lower and center console vents. Heated air only exits the driver's side windshield and driver's side dash vents. Problem persists through all cabin air modes, and circulations. This safety issue effects visibility and passenger safety by failing to defrost/defog windows and keeping cabin tempuratures near or below freezing during cold weather (blowing cold air into the cabin.
I urgently need your assistance regarding a critical and unsafe situation concerning the PCM/ECU. Recently, while driving, my car began to shudder as if it was on the verge of stalling. To add to the alarming situation, every warning light on the dashboard illuminated. The speedometer and thermostat suddenly stopped functioning, leaving me without crucial information about the vehicle's speed and temperature. This not only compromised my safety but also made it impossible to gauge the car's performance. In response to this hazardous scenario, I immediately pulled over to a stop. Sadly, the car shut off, and despite my attempts, it has refused to restart ever since. The inability to restart presents a severe safety issue and has left me stranded without transportation. Compounding this ordeal, several auto shops have tried to address the PCM/ECU connectivity issues with no success. This recurring problem, combined with the recent dangerous episode on the road, underscores the urgency for resolution. I am deeply concerned about the potential risks posed by the malfunctioning PCM/ECU and the compromised safety of both myself and others on the road. The inability to accurately monitor speed and temperature could have dire consequences if left unaddressed.
Recently bought the car about two months ago and ever since I’ve had it, it was randomly cut off anywhere and anytime and when it cuts off the power steering goes out and it makes it hard to control but I had mechanics that I know personally look at it, and they cannot figure it out no one can figure it out And also the control valve for putting the gas in the car is messed up and I seen that there was a recall for that and as I’m riding down the road, the horn just blows out of nowhere consistently and it could also scare you while you’re driving and that’s dangerous and thank you
The heater in my vehicle continues to not work. Blows out cold air constantly. Unable to defrost my windshield, difficult to see out of a frosted over windshield.
Drivers side blows hot air but passenger side is cold. Had clicking noise coming from glove box and discovered bad blend door actuator. Replaced blend door and clicking went away but still no hot air on passenger side. Defrost struggles to defrost windshield which is a safety issue. I have read numerous complaints on here as well as the internet about people having the same issue yet dodge won’t issue a recall to fix this issue.
The cars heat only works on one side, which causes the windshield and windows to become foggy which is a safety issue while driving
The heating/Defrost System on the car is no longer working. After checking online there appears to be many of the make and model that has this problem due to poor design of the heater core which allows the heater core to corrode and plug much earlier than it should. Because of this problem you cannot keep the front windshield and side windows cleared during the winter. This car only has 62,000 miles.
The heat on the passenger does not work at all I was driving and the frost kept coming back on the windshield I almost had a wreck with another vehicle. The way the sunshine hit the frost on the windshield it shined to bright for me to see. How is this safe? I have seen where many people are having this issue online. It just blows cold air on the passenger side vents. No police were involved but I could’ve ended up in the hospital all because of a little part that won’t get recalled.
My heat seems to be blowing cold air when in fact it should be only heat blowing
Under the hood there’s electric tape holding wires together. Which is illegal. The check engine light came on since I got the car. I can’t fill my gas tank to fill cause the check engine light comes on. So it’s at half tank and can’t fill it to fill. My car did stall twice. Then there is hissing under the driver’s front side. The back end of my car feels like is going to fall apart this is a issue since I got the car. I have brought it to the dealership and they did nothing to fix any issues with the car since I got the car
ON APR 11,2021 I WAS DRIVING AROUND 35-40 MPH AND MY HOOD CAME FLYING UP IN FRONT OF ME. I HAVE CALL CHRYSLER AND THEY SENT OUT INSPECTOR RON MARNESE, WHO INSPECTED THE CAR AND FOUND THE SECONDARY LATCH WAS NOT WORKING. CHRYSLER HAS INFORMED ME THAT THEY WILL NOT FIX MY CAR DUE TO IT BEING OUT OF WARRANTY AND THERE IS NO RECALL. INSPECTOR HAD TOLD ME THAT HE THOUGHT THAT ENGINEERING WOULD WANT THE LATCH AND THOUGHT THIS WOULD GET REPAIRED BY THEM DUE TO THE CAR BEING IN EXCELLENT SHAPE. CHRYSLER DID NOT SEEM TO CARE THE THIS IS A SAFETY ISSUE.

THIS HAPPENS EVERY WINTER, AND WHENEVER IT RAINS. THIS IS A PERSISTENT PROBLEM IN HIGHWAY, AND CITY TRAFFIC RESULTING IN NEAR ACCIDENTS. I'VE HAD THIS CARS SYSTEM FLUSHED AND THAT IS ONLY A TEMPORARY FIX AS THIS IS A KNOWN ISSUE AS STATED FROM MECHANICS.

I WAS DRIVING DOWN THE INTERSTATE WHEN MY CEL LIGHT CAME ON. I BARELY MADE IT TO THE SIDE OF THE ROAD O INVESTIGATE IT. MY CAR WOULD NOT RUN, AND I HAD TO GET TOWED HOME...... CONFUSED AS TO WHY I HAD TO BUY THE ENTIRE ASSEMBLY I LOOKED AT THE NEW PART AND IT HAD BEEN REDESIGNED WHERE THE FITTING IS NOW HELD ON BY A MORE PERMANENT HEAT-SHRINK LOOKING TUBE INSTEAD OF HOSE CLAMPS. WELL, SEEING THAT THE UPPER RADIATOR HOSE IS A VERY IMPORTANT PART OF THE RADIATOR I WAS ALSO A LITTLE CONFUSED AS TOO WHY YOU WOULD WANT CONSUMERS TO HAVE TO SPEND 100.00 FOR JUST THE PART , IF THEY ARE LUCKY ENOUGH TO BE PARKED AND FIND IT, BUT IF THEY ARE UNLUCKY LIKE MYSELF THEN THEY ALSO RECEIVE A TOW BILL ON TOP OF THAT. NOW THE INSIDE DOOR IS COMPLETELY STUCK. WILL NOT SWITCH DOOR OFF OF THE DEFROSTER. THIS IS MY 1ST TIME OWNING A DODGE AND EVERYDAY MY EXPERIENCES WITH THIS CAR REAFFIRMS I WILL NEVER OWN ANOTHER. I MAKE IT A POINT TO TELL ANY AND EVERYONE THIS FACT. THE PROBLEM PERSISTS, AND NO ONE CAN FIGURE OUT WHAT THE ISSUE IS. AFTER ONLINE RESEARCH, I HAVE FOUND THAT THERE ARE TWO RECALLS FOR 2013 DODGE AVENGERS FOR AN ISSUE WITH THE ENGINE STALLING, BUT FOR SOME REASON MY 2013 DODGE AVENGER IS NOT INCLUDED--EVEN THOUGH IT HAS THE SAME ISSUE AS DESCRIBED IN THE RECALL. I SHOULD NOT HAVE TO SAY HOW DANGEROUS IT IS FOR ONE'S ENGINE TO STALL OUT ON A HIGHWAY. MY HUSBAND ALMOST GOT HIT BY AN 18-WHEELER AS THE ENGINE STALLED WHILE HE WAS DRIVING IN FRONT OF IT. THE STEERING-WHEEL LOCKED, BUT LUCKILY HE WAS ABLE TO SOMEHOW STEER OFF THE ROAD ONTO THE SHOULDER. IT IS NOT SAFE TO DRIVE MY CAR IN THIS CONDITION.
I HAVE A 2013 DODGE AVENGER. THE ISSUE IS THAT THE HEAT DOES NOT OPERATE AS EXPECTED. THRU HOURS OF RESEARCH THE PROBLEM SEEMS TO BE A FAULTY HEATER CORE. THE ISSUE IS VERY COMMON ACROSS MANY DODGE AND CHRYSLER VEHICLES. THE HEATER CORES ARE DEFECTIVE AND EVEN AFTER FLUSHING, REPLACEMENT AND REPAIRS THE HEATER CORE WILL NOT PRODUCE HEAT AS NECESSARY. FOR MOST PEOPLE THIS PROBLEM IS AN INCONVENIENCE BUT MORE IMPORTANTLY THIS ISSUE CAN BE HAZARDOUS TO DRIVING. TRULY HAVING OPTIMAL HEAT DURING WINTER MONTHS IS CRUCIAL TO KEEPING THE WINDSHIELD CLEAN. HAVING THE NECESSARY HEAT IS THE ONLY WAY IN COLD WEATHER TO KEEP THE WINDSHIELD FROM FOGGING AND FROM BEING ICED OVER IN WINTER STORMS. I HAVE EXPERIENCE THIS AND HAD TO PULL OVER AND CLEAN MY WINDSHIELD OTHERWISE THE DRIVING WAS DANGEROUS. THIS PROBLEM OCCURS WHILE DRIVING AND EVEN WHEN THE VEHICLE IS STATIONARY BECAUSE NO HEAT COMES OUT ON THE PASSENGER SIDE INTERIOR. THIS LACK OF HEAT CAUSED ICE AND FOG TO BE AN ISSUE ON MY CAR IN NUMEROUS SITUATIONS OVER THE COURSE OF THE 2018-2019 WINTER IN MINNESOTA. I DROVE ON HWY 169 FOR JUST 5-20 MILES AND WAS FORCED TO PULL OVER DUE TO LACK OF HEAT AND BUILD UP OF FOG AND ICE. I AM VERY SURE FROM READING OTHER PEOPLES EXPERIENCES THAT OTHER PEOPLE HAVE THE SAME FEELINGS. AS MENTIONED, THIS PROBLEM IS CHRONIC AND A SIMPLE PART REPLACEMENT WONT SOLVE THE RECURRING PROBLEM. IF THERE IS ANY WAY A REPLACEMENT HEATER CORE PLUS A NEW TYPE OF COOLANT CAN BE BROUGHT FORWARD AS A RECALL FIX, THAT IS THE ONLY WAY THAT THE CONSISTENT AND CHRONIC FAILURE OF THE HEATER CORE CAN BE FIXED AND LOTS OF PEOPLE NEED THIS. VEHICLE IS MAKING NOISES AND LOSING POWER SUDDENLY, THEN SUDDEN INCREASE OF RPM WHILE DRIVING. SUDDEN LOSS OF POWER COULD CAUSE CRASH IN TRAFFIC, SAME WITH SUDDEN RPM INCREASE. FAN WIRING HARNESS RECALLED, DEALERSHIP ADVISED OF FAILURE TO FAN WHEN TAKEN IN FOR HEADGASKET, NOTHING DONE. MULTIPLE COMPLAINTS MADE WITH DODGE HQ.

BUT THIS FIX ONLY WORKS FOR AN AVERAGE OF 1 YEAR AND THEN IT STARTS ALL OVER AGAIN. THIS SHOULD BE A RECALL. IT IS MOST DEFINITELY DANGEROUS TO DRIVE A VEHICLE THAT THE DEFROST DOES NOT WORK. WINDSHIELD IS OBSTRUCTED ON ONE SIDE. WILL DODGE DO ANYTHING ABOUT THIS? THIS IS A MANUFACTURING PROBLEM OF SOME SORT. THIS CAR ONLY HAS 89K MILES ON IT. I NEED YOUR ASSISTANCE IN THIS MATTER. HERE WE ARE IN DECEMBER OF 2018, I JUST HAD TO REPLACE THE THROTTLE CONTROL ,$360.00, AND NOW I HAVE AN APPOINTMENT ON FRIDAY, DECEMBER, 28 ,2018, TO GET THE AXLE SEAL, RIGHT SIDE, AND THE TRANSAXLE OIL COOLER PIPES, INLET AND RETURN REPLACED , COST $164.20, AND $364.29 RESPECTIVELY. THE CAR ONLY HAS 24,241 MILES ON IT, I HAVE ALL THE OIL CHANGE AND INSPECTION RECORDS, ALL IS UP TO DATE AND WERE ALWAYS DONE ROUTINELY. I TAKE VERY GOOD CARE OF THIS VEHICLE AND AM FRUSTRATED WITH THESE ISSUES. I HAVE ALSO READ UP ON OTHER COMPLAINTS FROM AVENGER OWNERS. DODGE NEEDS TO RESPOND TO THESE PROBLEMS. I TOOK MY CAR BACK TO THE DODGE DEALERSHIP RECENTLY AND THEY'RE NOW SAYING WE'LL NEED TO REPLACE THE RADIATOR, RADIATOR CAP, RESERVOIR, ENGINE OIL COOLER, THERMOSTAT, AND HEATER CORE WHICH WILL COST ME $2700. NOTHING WAS DONE WRONG ON MY SIDE AND THIS IS SIMPLY A MANUFACTURE DEFECT AS THE DEALERSHIP HAS TOLD ME THIS HAPPENS ALL THE TIME WITH AVENGERS AND THERE'RE HUNDREDS OF PEOPLE ONLINE IN FORUMS SAYING THE EXACT SAME THING HAPPENED TO THEIR DODGE AVENGER. MY CAR HAS ONLY 81K MILES AND HAS BEEN WELL TAKEN CARE OF. CHRYSLER REFUSES TO ACKNOWLEDGE THIS AS A DEFECT WHEN THEY NEED TO STEP UP AND DO A RECALL. I PAID OVER $200 IN JAN 2018 FOR FLUSHING THE SYSTEM AND DOOR ACTUATORS. I PAID $103.96 TODAY FOR THE DIAGNOSIS. THEY QUOTED ME $2700 FOR REPLACING THE PARTS MENTIONED ABOVE. THAT WORK HASN'T BEEN DONE YET.

DODGE KNOWS THIS IS A RECALL ITEM BUT WILL NOT ADMIT THEY HAVE THIS PROBLEM AND ASSIST THERE CUSTOMERS. THE MANUFACTURER WAS MADE AWARE OF THE FAILURE AND STATED THAT A SERVICE BULLETIN WAS ISSUED FOR THIS FAILURE. HOWEVER, BECAUSE THE VEHICLE EXCEEDED THE THREE YEAR MARK, NOTHING COULD BE DONE. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 64,000.

THE DEFROST ONLY WORKS ON THE DRIVERS SIDE OF THE CAR. I UNDERSTAND THERE ARE MANY COMPLAINTS OF THIS HAPPENING TO AVENGERS ACROSS THE BOARD, NO MATTER THE MODEL TYPE. ALL DUE IT LOOKS LIKE TO CASTING AND SAND ISSUES. AFTER FLUSHING THE CAR MULTIPLE TIMES, THERE HAS BEEN NO CHANGE. REPLACED THE HEATER CORE/THERMOSTAT ($850) AND THE HEAT WORKED FOR ABOUT A WEEK THEN STARTED BLOWING COLD AIR AGAIN. I TOOK IT BACK AND THEY REPLACED THE HEATER CONTROL PANEL. ($275). COLD AIR AGAIN......... THERE NEEDS TO BE A RECALL OF SOMETHING TO FIX THIS ISSUE. NOTHING IS WORKING AND IT'S ONLY COSTING A WHOLE BUNCH OF MONEY.

DESPITE THE VEHICLE BEING ONLY THREE YEARS OLD, AND WITH JUST 56000 MILES, THE RADIATOR AND AIR CONDITIONING SYSTEMS HAVE BEEN REPLACED! 2013 DODGE AVENGER IS NOT A SAFE CAR TO DRIVE AND NEEDS TO BE THOROUGHLY INVESTIGATED FOR QUALITY AND SAFETY. THE HEADREST EXPLOSION HAPPENED WHILE THE ENGINE WAS OFF AND WAS ABOUT TO EXIT THE VEHICLE INSIDE MY GARAGE.

THE VEHICLE WAS UNABLE TO BE DRIVEN AND WAS TOWED.
