I know the noise is coming from the lifters in the engine that has been nicknamed the hemi tick
The contact owns a 2014 Dodge Avenger. The contact stated while driving at various speeds, the check engine and electronic throttle warning lights remained illuminated. The contact stated that the vehicle lost motive power. The vehicle was taken to the local dealer who replaced the electronic throttle body and the computer wiring harness however, the failure persisted. The manufacturer was notified of the failure, but no assistance was provided. The VIN was not available. The failure mileage was 30,000.

While driving at about 30 mph the engine suddenly quit and would not immediately restart. The electrical system was shut down and electric door latches would not function. This vehicle recently had a new battery installed after it periodically failed to start. After having the car towed to the dealership and sitting for several days, it restarted. Dealership mechanics could not find a problem.

MY SEATBELTS WILL UNLATCH WHENEVER IT FEELS LIKE IT, THE SEATBELTS WON'T GO IN BY THEMSELVES ANYMORE, AMD THIS ALL HAPPENED AFTER WE FIXED THE RECALL. THEN ALL IN A YEAR THE THROTTLE BODY QUIT WORKING, THE ALTERNATOR STOPPED WORKING, IT WILL NOT KEEP A CHARGE, AND SOMETIMES WHEN YOUR DRIVING FOR NO REASON AT ALL THE INSIDE LIGHTS WILL DIM AND BRIGHTEN. THIS ALL HAPPENS WHILE IN MOTION EXCEPT THE BATTERY CONSTANTLY DYING EVEN THOUGH THE ALTERNATOR AND BATTERY ARE NEW.

IT JERKS N LOSES ACCELERATION RANDOMLY NO MATTER HIGH ROMS OR LOW RPMS. ON THE HIGHWAY OR STREET YOU CAN'T GAIN ACCELERATION TO PASS OR TO GET OVER WITHOUT RISKING AN ACCIDENT DUE TO NOT MOVING WITH THE SPEED OF TRAFFIC. ALSO AM UNKNOWN OIL LEAK APPEARS HAD THE CAR VALVE COVER GASKET AND OIL PAN GASKET REPLACE AND STILL LOOSES OIL. OIL IS SHOOTING ALL OVER THE ENGINE AND ENGINE MAKING UNKNOWN SOUND THAT DOESN'T TRIGGER A CHECK ENGINE LIGHT. BUT THERE IS A TICKING SOUND COMING FROM ENGINE. TOOK IT TO A DODGE DEALERSHIP THEY FOUND NOTHING WRONG WITH THE ENGINE OR TRANSMISSION. I BELIEVE DODGE ACKNOWLEDGE THESE PROBLEMS BUT REFUSE TO FIX WHAT MAJORITY OF THEIR CUSTOMERS COMPLAINTS ABOUT THIS SAME ISSUE.

THE MANIFOLD IN MY CAR HAD A HUGE CRACK AND WAS EMITTING EXHAUST FUMES INTO THE CABIN OF THE VEHICLE WHEN STARTING UP THE CAR WHILE THE ENGINE WAS COLD. WE COULD SMELL THE FUMES AND IT WAS MAKING US SICK. OUR MECHANIC WAS NOT ABLE TO GET A REPLACEMENT FOR A BRAND NEW PART AND HAD IT SENT TO A PROFESSIONAL WELDER TO FIX THE DAMAGE MANIFOLD IN LIEU OF WAITING A LONG PERIOD OF TIME TO GET A NEW MANIFOLD SENT TO HIM.

LUCKILY, I WAS NOT SPEEDING, THE CAR WAS PUSHED TO THE NEAREST DEALERSHIP. JUST AFTER 2 WEEKS, A DAY BEFORE THANKS GIVING MY CAR OVER HEATED AGAIN. AGAIN I HAVE TO GET IT TOWED AWAY AGAIN TO THE DEALER SHIP. MY CAR HAS BEEN IN THE SHOP FOR MORE THAN 12 DAYS. AT FIRST THEY ARE SAYING THAT MY GAS KIT BLEW AND THEN LATER THEY SAID THEY HAVE TO REPLACE MY ENGINE. MY CONCERN HERE IS THAT WHY WAS IT NOT DONE ON THE FIRST ATTEMPT. I BORROWED MONEY AGAINST MY 401K PLAN AND I CANT TAKE ANOTHER LOAN TO GET IT FIXED. MY WIFE IS STAGE 3 CANCER PATIENT. WE DO NOT HAVE ENOUGH MONEY. POWER STEERING WAS GONE AND THANKFULLY NO OTHER CARS WERE ON THE ROAD. I PLACED THE CAR IN NEUTRAL AND WAS ABLE TO GET IT STARTED TO CONTINUE ON MY WAY TO WORK. OVER THE PAST YEAR, WE'VE EXPERIENCED NUMEROUS ISSUES SUCH AS: RANDOM ACCELERATIONS WITHOUT CAUSE, DUMMY LIGHTS FLASHING OR COMING ON AND THEN DISAPPEARING ON THEIR OWN, ACCELERATION ISSUES WHERE CAR WILL NOT GO OVER 40, ETC. ISSUES HAVE NOT BEEN ABLE TO BE REPLICATED AND HAS NOT BEEN BROUGHT TO THE DEALERSHIP FOR THAT PURPOSE AS I HAD A FRIEND EXPERIENCE THE SAME AND THE DEALERSHIP TOLD HER THEY COULDN'T RECREATE SO THERE WAS NO ISSUE. I WAS TOLD THAT THE TIPM (TOTALLY INTEGRATED POWER MODULE) NEEDED REPLACEMENT. MY VEHICLE IS STILL UNDER WARRANTY, THANKFULLY! ! THIS PART HAS A 2-YEAR WARRANTY ONLY! ONCE TOLD OF THE TIPM ISSUE, I WENT ONLINE AND RESEARCHED THIS PART. I SAW MANY MODELS HAD THE SAME PROBLEM AND THAT CHRYSLER HAD SETTLED A LAWSUIT OVER THOUSANDS/MILLIONS OF 2007-2014 CHRYSLER VEHICLES WITH DEFECTIVE TIPM'S. JUST LAST WEEK I SAW A DODGE CHARGER ON THE SIDE OF THE ROAD AND WONDER IF THIS WAS THE SAME ISSUE AS MINE. I WOULD HAVE TO PULL OVER TURN MY CAR OFF AND TURN THE KEY REALLY HARD TO TURN ON AND IT WOULD GO BACK REGULAR. MY CAR RANDOMLY CUTS OFF WHEN STOPPED AT LIGHTS OR WHEN COMING TO A STOP. THE VEHICLE WAS TOWED FROM THE CRASH SCENE TO AN AUTO BODY REPAIR CENTER WHERE THE MECHANIC WAS UNABLE TO DIAGNOSE THE VEHICLE BASED ON THE FAILURE. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOT NOTIFIED OF THE FAILURE.
