REAR WINDOW ON LIFT GATE SHATTERED IN A THOUSAND PIECES FOR NO REASON WHILE PARKED (GLASS INSIDE AND OUTSIDE). OUTSIDE TEMP WAS ABOUT 20 F AND CLOUDY. GLASS TYPE IS A PRIVACY TINTED WITH WINDOW DEFROSTER. IT APPEARS GLASS WAS NOT REQUIRED TO BE A SAFETY GLASS TYPE AS COMPARED TO A WINDSHIELD WITH A "PLASTIC SANDWICH IN-BETWEEN. ABOUT 10 HOURS OF CLEAN UP REQUIRED. MANY SMALL GLASS FRAGMENTS AND "GLASS DUST" TRAVELED AS FAR AS THE FRONT DASHBOARD. OWNER WILL BE REPLACING GLASS. COST ESTIMATED TO BE BETWEEN $300 TO $400 PARTS AND LABOR. I HAVE PICTURES AVAILABLE IF NEEDED .*CN

CONSUMER RECEIVED A RECALL LETTER FOR AIRBAG LIGHT. AIRBAG LIGHT WAS ON WHEN SHE RECEIVED RECALL LETTER. TOOK TO DEALER FOR RECALL, DEALER FIXED THE PROBLEM, THEN 2 MONTHS LATER, AIRBAG LIGHT CAME ON AND OFF WHEN HITTING BUMPS IN THE ROAD. REAR WINDOW, RUBBER SEAL THAT GOES AROUND THE WINDOW IS MELTING WHEN IT'S HOT OUTSIDE, AND RUNNING DOWN OUTSIDE OF CAR. CONSUMER IS CONSTANTLY CLEANING AROUND WINDOW TO AVOID DAMAGE TO VEHICLE. *AK
THE SEALS/MOLDING AROUND THE WINDOWS AND GAS TANK ARE MELTING AND CAUSING THE RUBBER TO MELT. I THINK THE STUFF THATS MELTING IS GETTING IN THE GAS BECAUSE THE CAR ACTS LIKE THERE IS SOMETHING IN THE GAS. THE MOLDING AROUND THE WIDOWS MELTS AND THE BLACK MELTS ALL OVER THE PAINT. *AK
IT WAS RAINING AND WINDSHIELD WIPER STOPPED WORKING, AFFECTING DRIVER'S VISIBILITY. THIS DEFECT IS RECALLED ON THE 91-93 CARAVANS, BUT NOT ON THIS 94 WITH THE SAME PROBLEM. *AK
REAR TRUNK WINDOW MOLDING IS MELTING, WINDOW AND MOLDING MUST BE REPLACED TOGETHER. *MJS
HORN/CIGARETTE LIGHTER AND THE BOOSTER IN THE RADIO DO NOT WORK. ALSO, WHEN TURNING HEATER FAN SWITCH ON HIGH, LIFTGATE OPENS. DEALER HAS BEEN NOTIFIED ABOUT THE PROBLEMS WITH THE VAN. NONE OF THE PROBLEM HAVE BEEN CORRRECTED. PLEASE PROVIDE ANY FURHTER INFORMATION.*AK
WINDSHIELD MOTOR (REAR) WAS RECALLED, VEHICLE TAKEN TO DEALERSHIP. CONNSUMER SAT AT DEALER ALMOST 2 HOURS BEFORE BEING TOLD THAT THEY DID NOT HAVE THE PART IN, SIDE DOOR OF VAN- WHEN HITTING A BUMP THE OVERHEAD LIGHTS GO ON AND OFF LIKE STROBE LIGHTS AND THE DOOR LATCH IS NOT LATCHING PROPERLY, THEREFORE THE DOOR AJAR LIGHT BLINKS ON AND OFF AND A BEEPING SIGNAL IN HEARD CONSTANTLY.. *AK
I ? FAILURE OF A RECENTLY ROUTINELY SERVICED TRANSMISSION. I WAS TOLD THAT DRIVING IN THIS CONDITION WOULD CAUSE THE SYSTEM TO LOCK UP AND CREATE OTHER FAILURES (AXLE). AM I ALONE IN THIS PROBLEM, ALSO, I HAD RECEIVED A RECALL ON THE VAN FOR AIRBAG PROBLEM - IT ALSO LISTED ON THE FORM IN VERY SMALL PRINT THAT THE REAR WIPER MAY ALSO HAVE TO BE SERVICED/REPLACED AT THEIR DISCRETION I BELIEVE. AFTER GETTING SERVICE FOR THIS THE WIPER BLOWS FUSES AS BEFORE DISABLING THE WIPER AND ALSO THE AIRBAG SYSTEM WHAT RECOURSE IF ANY DO I HAVE WHEN THEY SAY THE WIPER IS DOING THIS BECAUSE PEOPLE DON'T CLEAR OFF THE REAR WINDOWS PROPERLY??? THE AIR VENT BROKE, CAUSING SOME OF THE PIECES TO GO INTO THE ENGINE. *SLC
TRANSMISSION IS LEAKING FLUID SINCE PURCHASE FROM AXLE SEAL TRANSFER CASE. FRONT RIGHT STRUT ASSEMBLY MAKES EXSTREME NOISES OVER BUMPS AND SHARP CURVES. ENGINE HAS DEVELOPED A LEAK. LEFT DRIVER SIDE DOOR CAN NOT BE OPENED WITH KEY. SUSPECT FLOOD DAMAGE DUE TO A REOCCURRING ODOR FROM HEATER VENTS. WE HAVE CONTACTED DEALER MORE THAN THREE TIMES AND WERE GIVEN A "DODGE" ! DEALER HAS CHANGED THE BUISNESS NAME AND STATES HAS NO LONGER AN OBLIGATION TO HONOR THESE PROBLEMS WHICH WE ENCOUNTERED UNDER WARRANTY! ALSO, AIR CONDITION UNIT HAS BEEN LEAKING AND WAS SERVICED UNDER WARRENTY AND REMAINS A PROBLEM. THERE ARE SEVERAL OTHER ITEMS TOO LONG TO LIST. THE BOTTOM LINE IS THAT THIS VEHICLE IS FAILING RAPIDLY MECHANICALLY! I FEEL STRONGLY THAT I HAVE BEEN "RIPPED OFF!" BY THIS DEALER AND AM IN NEED OF SOME SORT OF SOLUTION!. *AK
RECALL # 99V113000 DAIMLER/CHRYSLER/AIR BAG DEPLOYMENT; DEALER DOES NOT HAVE PARTS TO CORRECT RECALL. OWNER HAS CONTACTED DEALERSHIP 5 TIMES SINCE RECEIVING RECALL NOTICE IN AUGUST OF 1994. DEALER STATED THAT PARTS WERE ON BACK ORDER. ALSO, REAR WINDSHIELD WIPER MOTOR STOPPED WORKING PRIOR TO RECALL. *AK

THE SPRING GROUND ON THE MOTOR BECAME DISCONNECTED. *AK CONSUMER STATES THAT THE ELECTRICAL CIRCUIT BECOMES DISCONNECTED WHILE USING THE WINDSHIELD WIPERS, THIS ONLY HAPPENS WHEN THE WIPERS ARE NEEDED TO BE ON, A MECHANIC HAS TO RETIGHTEN THE GROUND WIRE TO THE WIPER MOTOR WITH A WRENCH. *SLC
REAR WINDSHIELD WIPER MOTOR AND THE AIR BAGS ARE CONNECTED AND THE WINDSHIELD MOTOR NEEDS TO BE REPLACED, CAUSING THE AIR BAGS TO BE INOPERATIVE. *AK
