MY 1 YEAR OLD SITS ON THAT SIDE AND I AM WORRIED THIS IS A VERY HUGE SAFETY ISSUE. IF I WERE IN AN ACCIDENT I WOULD NOT BE ABLE TO GET TO HIM QUICKLY. MY 3 YEAR OLD SITS ON THE OTHER SIDE AND SO NOW WE HAVE TO CLIMB IN TO UNBUCKLE BOTH CHILDREN TO GET THEM OUT. THIS IS DANGEROUS IF AN ACCIDENT WERE TO HAPPEN. WHEN THE DEFECT WAS IDENTIFIED THE VEHICLE WAS PARKED AND HAS BEEN OVERNIGHT. I ATTEMPTED TO USE SLIDING DOOR CONTROL ON KEY FOB WHICH DIDN'T WORK AND SO ATTEMPTED TO UNLOCK DOOR WITH KEY FOB TO OPEN IT MANUALLY AND THAT DIDN'T WORK EITHER. I GOT INSIDE THE VEHICLE AND ATTEMPTED TO UNLOCK THE DOOR MANUALLY AND THAT WAS UNSUCCESSFUL. ADDITIONALLY, SLIDING DOOR CONTROL ON FRONT CEILING (ALLOWS DRIVER TO OPEN AND SHUT BOTH SLIDING DOORS) ATTEMPTED TO BE USED AND WAS ALSO UNSUCCESSFUL. THIS APPEARS TO BE A PROBLEM THAT MULTIPLE DODGE CARAVAN OWNERS ARE EXPERIENCING AND NEEDS TO BE ADDRESSED ASAP.
