I was almost rear-ended by a semi when the vehicle stalled at a light while picking my son up from work. It seems to stall at stop signs or waiting at lights completely. It stalls while idling here and there sometimes. Sometimes when driving on the e-way it jerks as it wants to stall but not completely. The main codes that pop up is u0100. Sometimes p0700 pops up and then sometimes the u0100 pops up along with a bunch of other codes. This has just started happening with my previous 2006 Dodge Charger 5.7 which has happened once or twice and a u0100 code pops up when scanned. I've scoured the internet for solutions and notice. There's a lot of people going through this similar situation and it so happens to be the 2006 year that's plagued with this problem. Even getting a new PCM doesn't solve the problem. Whomever is in charge of the Dodge company needs to figure out the exact cause of this problem before a driver/passengers gets injured or killed in an accident because of it. My car has been stalling intermittently. But lately it's becoming more frequent. I've taken it to 3 different repair shops. Diagnostics shows P0700 and U1000 codes. The last shop charged me 150 dollars just to tell me that they don't know what's causing my car to stall. So I'm kind of lost here. Please help me.

Vehicles pcm failed causing the vehicle to shutdown randomly with no warning leaving you with a non running car in the middle of running traffic the PCM is not available for inspection sadly but have found through research that this is a common issue the PCM was found to be faulty by a technician at south pointe cjdr

The contact owns a 2006 Dodge Charger. The contact stated that the vehicle would start after the second attempt. Additionally, the contact stated that the vehicle shut off while driving from a complete stop. Several unknown warning lights were illuminated. The contact was able to restart the vehicle and continued driving. Additionally, the contact stated that the failure occurred while driving at various speeds. The contact was able to veer to the side of the road. The contact restarted the vehicle and continued driving. The contact also stated that while driving at various speeds, the vehicle jerked and shuddered. The vehicle was taken to an independent mechanic where it was diagnosed that there was a communication failure to the transmission. The independent mechanic cleaned the throttle body; however, the failure persisted. The dealer was not notified of the failure. The vehicle was not repaired. The manufacturer was not notified of the failure. The failure mileage was approximately 125,000. The VIN was not available.

Car will stall and not start after filling with gas. After awhile car will run but shut off randomly. This can happen while driving. Car has been stuck at intersections and will stall even doing highway speeds. All lights will appear on dash engine car will lose all power. Small ding before it dies.

PCM/ECM failure during driving. Caused entire vehicle to shut off during speeds as little as 20 or as high as 70 mph. Severe safety issue and potential for critical component damage to other parts of the vehicle! Warning tone and lamps do not appear until after the incident happens. And it has been confirmed by 3 consecutive car shops and dealers. Happens repeatedly, day to day.

OUT OF NO WHERE MY CAR STARTED STALLING ON ME, TOOK IT TO A MECHANIC, CLEANED GROUND WIRES, CHANGED O2 SENSOR, CLEANED THROTTLE BODY EVERYTHING LOOKS AND SOUNDS GOOD, BUT THE CAR STALLS, WHILE I'M DRIVING, AS WELL AS AT A STOP, SOMETIMES IT COMPLETELY SHUTS OFF AND I LOOSE ALL CONTROL INCLUDING POWER STEERING, AND SOMETIMES JUST CUTS OFF FOR HALF A SECOND AND TURNS ITSELF BACK ON, IV SEEN A LOT OF POSTS ABOUT THE GAS TANK OVERFILLING PROBLEM, AS WELL AS A IGNITION SWITCH PROBLEM WITH THESE CARS, I CALLED THE DEALER BUT THEY SAID THEY CAN'T ADDRESS IT SINCE MY VIN ISN'T REPORTED FOR THOSE RECALLS. MY CAR IS UNSAFE TO DRIVE RIGHT NOW AND I DON'T KNOW WHY BUT THERE'S REPORTS OF MANUFACTURER FAULTS.

I CAN UNDERSTAND WHY A PROBLEM THAT CAUSES YOU TO STALL OUT IN THE MIDDLE OF A BUSY INTERSECTION IS NOT ADDRESSED. FIRST IT START TELLING ME THAT IT WAS ELECTRONIC THROTTLE CONTROL PROBLEM, THEN IT'S NOW TELLING ME THAT IS A PROBLEM BETWEEN THE THROTTLE CONTROL MODULE AND THE ECM. THIS HAPPENED EXACTLY ONE MINUTE AFTER I LEFT THE DEALER GETTING MY AIRBAGS RECALLED. IT STALLS AT WHEN STATIONARY, WHEN MOVING, IN THE MIDDLE OF THE STREET, AND EVERY COUPLE MINUTES. I KNOW I AM NOT ALONE WITH THIS PROBLEM BUT I DON'T UNDERSTAND WHY NOTHING IS BEING ADDRESSED.

IT HAS BEEN IN AND OUT OF THE SHOP FOR THE LAST 8 MONTHS. THEY HAVE SENT THE COMPUTER BACK TO HAVE IT ANALYSED AND TO REPAIR THE NEW ONE I GOT NOW. WHEN DRIVING IT ALSO SHUTS OFF AND THEN JUST STARTS UP BACK BY ITSELF. I SEE THIS EVERYWHERE ON THE INTERNET AND FORUMS, SOME SAY ECM NEEDS TO BE REPLACED OTHER SAY THE FUEL TANK AND THE OTHER SAYS SOMETHING ABOUT THE KEY FOB NOT RECOGNIZING THE KEY. ABOUT 6 MONTHS AFTER STARTED TO GET THE LIGHTNING BOLT .THEN STALLING WITH THE LIGHTNING BOLT WHILE DRIVING 55MPH ON THE HIGHWAY AND IN THE CITY IT ALSO DOES IT AT STOP SIGNS AND SOMETIMES WONT START BACK RIGHT AWAY.. THE OCCUPANT CLASSIFICATION SYSTEM WAS DEFECTIVE AND FAILED TO RECOGNIZE A PASSENGER WAS SEATED IN THE FRONT SEAT DURING A CRASH. AS A RESULT, THE PASSENGER'S AIRBAG FAILED TO DEPLOY IN A SEVERE FRONTAL IMPACT COLLISION. THE VEHICLE WAS INVOLVED IN A SEVERE, DIRECT FRONTAL IMPACT WITH ANOTHER VEHICLE WHILE TRAVELING AT HIGHWAY SPEEDS. THE IMPACT WAS SEVERE, DEFORMED FRAME RAILS AND WAS DIRECTLY FRONTAL. THE DRIVER'S AIRBAG DEPLOYED, BUT THE PASSENGER AIRBAG FAILED TO DEPLOY. THE PASSENGER, AN ADULT FEMALE, WAS BELTED BUT HER HEAD HIT THE DASH IN THE AREA OF THE AIRBAG FLAP AND SHE SUFFERED FATAL HEAD INJURIES. THE ECM WAS DOWNLOADED AND REVEALED THE OCCUPANT CLASSIFICATION SYSTEM HAD FAILED TO RECOGNIZE A PASSENGER WAS IN THE FRONT SEAT AT THE TIME OF THE CRASH. THE CAR'S STALLING CAN BE PREVENTED BY PROVIDING QUICK ACCELERATION, WHICH WILL TEMPORARY FIX THE ISSUE, ONLY TO HAVE IT COME BACK LATER. THE CHOICE BETWEEN STALLING AT HIGH SPEEDS AND LOSING POWER STEERING & OTHER NECESSITIES, OR QUICKLY ACCELERATING TO PREVENT A STALL, LEAVE DRIVERS WITH TWO UNSAFE, DANGEROUS CHOICES EACH. THE FUEL TANK RECALL DID NOT REMEDY THE ISSUE. ONE TIME SPECIFIC IN THE MIDDLE OF AN INTERSECTION CAUSING A BACK UP IN TRAFFIC AND NEAR ACCIDENT. APPROXIMATELY A WEEK AND A HALF LATER, AGAIN, I WAS ACCELERATING FROM A STOP SIGN AND THE CAR STALLED ABOUT 4 BLOCKS FROM THE STOP SIGN. THIS CONTINUED TO HAPPEN INTERMITTENTLY UNTIL SEPTEMBER15, 2014, WHEN THE CAR DIED WHEN I WAS APPROACHING THE STOP SIGN AND HAD TO BE TOWED. CONSUMER WRITES IN REGARDS TO FAULTY IGNITION SWITCH. *SMD THE CONSUMER STATED THE VEHICLE HAD A TRANSMISSION LEAK, AND IT SHUDDERED, THE SUN ROOF RATTLED AND THE SIDE TRIM FELL OFF. A FORMER TRANSMISSION SPECIALIST, INFORMED THE CONSUMER, THE CONDENSATION DRAIN FOR THE AIR CONDITION DRIPPED ONTO THE TRANSMISSION AND POOLED AROUND THE TRANSMISSION FILLER TUBE. WHEN THE VEHICLE REACHED A 140,000 MILES, IT BEGAN EMITTING WHITE SMOKE, TO THE POINT WHERE THE CONSUMER WAS UNABLE TO SEE OUT OF HIS REAR VIEW MIRROR. I JUST FINISHED REFUELING ALMOST TO FULL. VEHICLE STARTED PERFECTLY. DROVE APPROXIMATELY 2 BLOCKS AT 15 MPH WHEN THE VEHICLE SUDDENLY STALLED AND SHUT OFF. IT TOOK 3 ATTEMPTS TO RESTART. I DROVE APPROXIMATELY 4 MORE BLOCKS AT 15 MPH WHEN THE VEHICLE SUDDENLY STALLED AND SHUT OFF AGAIN. I HAD THE VEHICLE TOWED TO THE REPAIR SHOP THAT I USE. THE MECHANIC AT THE SHOP DROVE THE VEHICLE. THE VEHICLE STALLED AND SHUT OFF 2 TIMES WHILE THE MECHANIC DROVE IT. VEHICLE WAS SCANNED FOR CODES. NO CODES WERE DISPLAYED. THE MECHANIC CLEANED OUT THE THROTTLE BODY. VEHICLE HAS BEEN OPERATING PERFECT SINCE THAT TIME. ONE OTHER NOTE. THIS HAS BEEN AN ON-GOING PROBLEM THAT WE'VE BEEN CHASING FOR SEVERAL YEARS. THE CAR WILL STALL WHILE DRIVING, USUALLY WITHOUT WARNING SOMETIMES THE GAUGES WILL DROP AND THE WARNING "DING" WILL SOUND. MOST OF THE TIME THE CAR WILL RESTART, HOWEVER THERE HAS BEEN INSTANCES THAT IT HAS TO SIT FOR AWHILE BEFORE RESTARTING. IN ANY CASE, IT IS A SAFETY CONCERN SINCE IT WILL STALL WHILE DRIVING. I CALLED THE DEALERSHIP AND THEY SAID THE SAME THING, THEY SAID THAT THEY HAVE NEVER HEARD OF THIS HAPPENING. AT LEAST THREE TIMES MY 5.7 LITER HEMI HAS STALLED WHILE DRIVING. IT HAS ALWAYS STALLED AT LOW SPEEDS (I.E. UNDER 35 MPH) AND SOMETIMES AS SLOW AS 15. EVERY TIME IS HAS OCCURRED WHILE DRIVING FROM STOPLIGHT TO STOPLIGHT WITH A LIGHT THROTTLE APPLICATION. IT HAS OCCURRED AT LEAST ONCE AFTER FILLING UP. I ALSO DON'T KNOW IF THIS IS RELATED, BUT PROBABLY BETWEEN 6-10 TIMES NOW WHILE DRIVING AT HIGHWAY SPEEDS (50-70 MPH) THE ENTIRE DASHBOARD (I.E. TACH, SPEEDOMETER, ENGINE TEMP, AND FUEL GAGE) ALL DIE. WHAT HAPPENS IS THEY ALL SEEM TO LOSE POWER, ALL NEEDLES FALL TO 0, OR THEIR TURNED OFF POSITION, THEN ONCE THEY HIT THE STOPS THEY ALL POWER BACK UP AGAIN, SWING BACK TO WHERE THEY WERE, ALL THE WARNING LIGHTS COME ON, AND THEN EXTINGUISH AFTER A COUPLE OF SECONDS. I HAVE A 2006 DODGE CHARGER R/T WITH THE 5.7. AT LEAST ONCE PER DAY (AND OFTEN MUCH MORE OFTEN), DURING ACCELERATION, CAR WILL GO INTO "LIMP" MODE, WHERE THE ENGINE OR TRANSMISSION WILL STOP PRODUCING POWER TO THE WHEELS. ENGINE LIGHT WILL "DING" AND RPM WILL DROP FROM ACCELERATION RPM DOWN TO ABOUT 2000 RPM AND CAUSE THE CAR TO HESITATE, CREATING AN ESPECIALLY DANGEROUS SITUATION ON HIGHWAY MERGING. CAR WILL COME BACK ON LINE AFTER ABOUT 1-2 SECONDS, AND RUN NORMALLY. THE MORE I PUSH THE ACCELERATION, THE MORE LIKELY TO OCCUR. ALSO, CAR WILL SIMPLY STALL AT LOW SPEEDS OR WHILE IN IDLE. I BOUGHT THE CAR ABOUT 30 DAYS AGO, AND REPORTED TO THE DEALERSHIP IMMEDIATELY, AND THEY DUPLICATED THE ISSUE. THEY THOUGHT IT COULD BE A SHORT, BUT AFTER 3 HOURS LABOR (THEY COVERED THIS COST), DID NOT CORRECT IT. THEY DO NOT KNOW WHAT IT IS, AND ARE NEXT LOOKING INTO A TORQUE CONVERTER POSSIBILITY, AND ALSO LOOKING AT THE THROTTLE BODY. NOT SURE AT THIS TIME IF THEY WILL COME GOOD FOR THE FIX IN THE LONG TERM. THIS STALLING LOSS OF POWER AND GOING INTO "LIMP MODE" SEEMS TO BE EXCESSIVELY COMMON ON THESE CARS, ACCORDING TO BLOGS AND DODGE SITES ONLINE. PICKUP MY CAR ON APRIL 18, 2013 AND WHILE SITTING IN TRAFFIC, THE CAR WAS SHAKING AND FELT AS THOUGH IT WAS ABOUT TO CUTOFF. I PUT IN PARK WHILE AT THE TRAFFIC LIGHT AND PRESSED ON THE GAS TO RAISE THE ENGINE;AS I TURNED INTO MY DRIVEWAY, IT STALLED AGAIN. I TOOK IT BACK TO THE DEALERSHIP,THEY INITIALLY SAID THERE WAS A COIL THAT WAS MISFIRING BUT THE DIAGNOSTIC MACHINE COULD NOT DETECT IT. I PICKED MY CAR UP ON APRIL 25, 2013 ONLY TO HAVE SOMETHING ELECTRICALLY DRAINING MY BATTERY DOWN TO 4 OR 5 VOLTS EVERY OTHER DAY. TOOK IT BACK TO THE DEALERSHIP, TECHNICIAN SAID THEIR DIAGNOSTIC MACHINE COULDN'T FIND ANY PROBLEMS WITH THE BATTERY,ALTERNATOR NOR ANY OF ELECTRICAL PARTS. I HAD NO PROBLEMS WITH MY CAR PRIOR TO HAVING THE ABOVE SERVICES DONE. AFTER LOOKING AT THE BATTERY, IT APPEARED TO HAVE EXPLODED FROM THE REAR AND THE MAIN THING THAT KEPT IT FROM SENDING ACID SOAKED DEBRIS WAS THE NYLON STRAP THAT HOLDS THE BATTERY IN PLACE. I AM WORRIED THAT THE ENTIRE INTERIOR OF MY VEHICLE IS NOW COATED WITH ACID FUMES/POWDER FROM THE EXPLOSION. I SPOKE WITH HUNTINGTON BEACH DODGE AND THEY SAID I WAS RESPONSIBLE FOR ALL COSTS OF REPAIRS BECAUSE THE BATTERY ONLY HAS A 12 MONTH/12K MILE WARRANTY. I UNDERSTAND THAT A BATTERY GOES DEAD, BUT I DO NOT UNDERSTAND A BATTERY EXPLODING! MY 2 CHILDREN WERE NOT IN THE BACK SEAT AT THE TIME OF THE EXPLOSION, BUT WHAT COULD HAVE BEEN THE INJURY TO MY KIDS IF THEY WERE THERE? I ATTEMPTED TO ACCELERATE AGAIN AND SAME THING HAPPENED. FORTUNATELY I WAS ABLE TO AVOID A PRETTY SIGNIFICANT ACCIDENT WITH THE CARS BEHIND ME AND THE ONES I WAS MERGING ON TO THE HIGHWAY WITH. THE SYMPTOMS DISAPPEARED FOR A FEW WEEKS AND THEN STARTED AGAIN AND PROGRESSIVELY BECAME WORSE. I BROUGHT THE CAR TO THE DEALER THAT INVESTIGATED AND FOUND IT TO BE THE POWER CONTROL MODULE WHICH TURNED OUT TO BE QUITE EXPENSIVE. I DID SOME RESEARCH ON A FORUM THAT I BELONG TO AND FOUND MANY INSTANCES OF THIS. CONTACTED CHRYSLER AND SIMPLY PUT THEY DID NOT SEEM TO CARE. THERE ARE MANY DEFECTS ON THIS YEAR OF CHARGER AND NOT ONE OF THEM HAS EVER BEEN COVERED, AT LEAST THE ONES THAT I HAVE. IT SOUNDED LIKE A BOOM. THE STORE CLERK RAN OUT AND ON LOOKERS TOLD ME THE CAR WAS SMOKING FROM THE TRUNK. IN DISBELIEF I RAN BACK TO THE STORE TO CALL THE FIRE DEPARTMENT ASAP. WHEN THE FIRE DEPARTMENT OPENED THE TRUNK SPARKS FROM THE BATTERY WAS BEGINNING TO START A FIRE. ONE GENTLEMAN FROM THE FIRE DEPARTMENT SAID HE WOULD HAVE TO CUT THE BATTERY CABLE BECAUSE IT WAS ELECTRICAL PROBLEMS IN THE BATTERY OR ELSE THE CAR WOULD EXPLODE BECAUSE IT WAS TO CLOSE TO GAS PUMP. HE TOLD ME I WAS VERY LUCKY BECAUSE IF THE BLAST WAS ANY STRONGER IT COULD HAVE BLOWN UP THE CAR COMPLETELY IF THE FIRE SPARKS AND GAS COLLIDED. FROM THE BLAST MY NECK JERKED VERY HARD AND I AM EXPERIENCING DIZZY NESS FROM THE EXPLOSION AND BATTERY ACID FUMES AND MINOR BACK PAINS. I WOULD LIKE TO KNOW WHAT MY LEGAL RIGHTS OR AND OPTION TO GET THIS ISSUE RESOLVED. AT THIS TIME MY CAR IS COMPLETELY DAMAGED I HAVE NO ELECTRICAL POWER AT THIS TIME AND MY FRONT WINDSHIELD WAS CRACKED. TL*THE CONTACT OWNS A 2006 DODGE CHARGER. WHILE DRIVING APPROXIMATELY 35 MPH ON NORMAL ROAD CONDITIONS, THE CONTACT DEPRESSED THE ACCELERATOR PEDAL. SHE IMMEDIATELY HEARD A BEEPING NOISE FOLLOWED BY EXCESSIVE HESITATION. IN ADDITION, THERE WAS AN EXTREMELY LOW POWER RESPONSE DURING ACCELERATION. THE FAILURES OCCURRED WITHOUT WARNING. THE VEHICLE RESUMED NORMAL OPERATION AND WAS TAKEN TO AN AUTHORIZED DEALER FOR INSPECTION. THE TECHNICIAN WAS UNABLE TO DUPLICATE THE FAILURE. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO AN AUTHORIZED DEALER ON FIVE SEPARATE OCCASIONS FOR IDENTICAL FAILURES, BUT THERE WERE NO RESOLUTIONS. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 23,723 AND CURRENT MILEAGE WAS 39,000. AN ACCIDENT AND OR DEATH WAITING TO HAPPEN. MAY 8, 2009. I AM A MOTHER WITH A NOW 1 YR. OLD CHILD WHO TRAVELS 80% OF THE TIME IN THE BACK SEAT OF MY 2006 CHARGER R/T WITH HEMI 5.7L WHICH NOW HAS 40,000 MILES. SINCE FEB 2008 BEING 8 MTHS PREGNANT AT THE TIME WITH CAR HAVING 23,723 MILES I HAVE REPEATEDLY GONE TO POTAKIN PLANET DODGE IN MIAMI, FL COMPLAINING ABOUT AN INCONSISTENT PROBLEM WITH THE CAR. IT WILL SHUT OFF FOR NO APPARENT REASON AT A RED LIGHT (NO WARNING LIGHTS BEFORE OR AFTER) IT WILL SHUT OFF IN THE PARKING LOT AT 10-20 MPH (NO WARNING LIGHTS BEFORE OR AFTER) BUT THE BIGGEST FEAR IS WHAT I HAVE EXPERIENCED 2 TIMES SO FAR WITH THE BABY IN THE BACK SEAT! PLEASE HELP ME PREVENT ACCIDENTS AND/OR FATALITIES THAT WILL RESULT FROM CHRYSLER'S REFUSAL TO ADDRESS A DANGEROUS SITUATION. RECENTLY MY 2006 DODGE CHARGER BEGAN STALLING, NUMEROUS TIME, WITH THE STEERING LOCKING SOMETIMES AT A HIGH RATE OF SPEED ON A BUSY HIGHWAY. A POTENTIALLY DISASTROUS SITUATION FOR EVERYONE ON THE ROAD. MY CAR'S BEEN TOWED TO THE DEALER THREE TIMES AND THE PROBLEM REMAINS A MYSTERY TO THE TECHNICIANS. THEY'VE CHANGED THE POWERTRAIN CONTROL MODULE (PCM), WITH NO CHANGE. THE CAR CONTINUES TO INTERMITTENTLY REGISTER 'LOST COMM WITH THE PCM' DIAGNOSTIC TROUBLE CODES. AT TIMES THE CAR PERFORMS FLAWLESS, AND OTHER TIMES IT STALLS AND WON'T RESTART SOMETIMES FOR DAYS. AFTER MUCH RESEARCH I HAVE FOUND THAT THIS IS A RECURRING PROBLEM WITH CHARGERS, OLD AND NEW, AND ONE THAT MANY OTHER OWNERS SUFFER. A CHRYSLER REP TOLD ME THEY WERE AWARE OF A STALL PROBLEM, BUT SAID THAT SINCE THEY DON'T KNOW THE EXACT CAUSE, THERE IS NOTHING THEY WILL DO UNLESS THE CUSTOMER PAYS FOR EXPENSIVE AND EXPERIMENTAL DIAGNOSES. WHY IS IT UP TO THE CONSUMER TO FIND A KNOWN PROBLEM THAT COULD KILL MOTORISTS? WHEN DO THEY INTEND TO ADDRESS IT? AFTER A FAMILY IS WIPED OUT? THIS IS A DISASTER WAITING TO HAPPEN. AND A PREVENTABLE ONE IF WE CAN CONVINCE CHRYSLER TO ADDRESS THE PROBLEM AND AFFECT A RECALL TO FIX IT. CHRYSLER'S DISREGARD FOR THE AMERICAN CONSUMER AT THE VERY LEAST, AND TOWARD THE PUBLIC AT LARGE AT MOST, IS ALARMING. I HAVE TAKEN MY CAR TO THE DEALERSHIP 5 TIMES TO HAVE ISSUES FIXED. EACH TIME I GOT THE CAR BACK, IT WAS WORSE. I HAD 13 ISSUES ORIGINALLY WITH THE CAR. I ENDED UP SUING, AND GOT A VERY SMALL SETTLEMENT- DODGE REFUSED TO COOPERATE. I STILL HAVE EACH AND EVERY PROBLEM, AND DO NOT KNOW WHAT ELSE TO DO. TL*THE CONTACT OWNS A 2006 DODGE CHARGER. WHILE TEST DRIVING THE VEHICLE, THE CONTACT NOTICED THAT ONE OF THE HEADLIGHTS WAS OUT. THE DEALER REPLACED THE FAILED HEADLIGHT. SHE LATER DISCOVERED THAT THE TURN SIGNALS WERE ALSO INOPERABLE. AN INDEPENDENT MECHANIC FOUND BURNED WIRES IN THE FUSE BOX AND ELECTRICAL FAILURE. NO REPAIRS WERE MADE AT THAT TIME. ON A SEPARATE OCCASION, THE VEHICLE STALLED AND WAS TOWED TO A DEALER. THE DEALER STATED THAT THE WIRING HARNESS WAS DEFECTIVE AND NEEDED TO BE REPLACED AT AN ESTIMATED COST OF $500. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 31,000 AND CURRENT MILEAGE WAS 32,000.

THE CONTACT STATED THAT ALL OF THE COMPONENTS RELATED TO THE INSTRUMENT PANEL, SUCH AS THE AIR CONDITIONER, STEERING COLUMN CONTROLS, AND PHONE SYSTEM WORKED INTERMITTENTLY. THE DEALER WAS UNABLE TO DIAGNOSE THE FAILURE; HOWEVER, THEY REPLACED THE STEERING COLUMN SWITCH, CLOCK SPRING, WIRING HARNESS, HEAD UNIT, AMPLIFIER, AND RADIO. THE CONTACT STATED THAT THE FAILURE WORSENED AFTER THE REPLACEMENTS. THE MANUFACTURER STATED THAT THEY WOULD REPLACE THE VEHICLE IN JULY OF 2007. AS OF NOVEMBER 13, 2007, THE MANUFACTURER HAD NOT REPLACED THE VEHICLE. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 2,000 AND CURRENT MILEAGE WAS 7,700.

THE 20'06 DODGE CHARGER HAD LESS THAN 32,000 MILES ON IT, AND WHILE DRIVING ONE DAY I STEPPED ON THE ACCELERATOR TO MERGE ONTO INTERSTATE 5 DURING RUSH HOUR TRAFFIC AND THE CAR STALLED. MOMENTARILY, THE CHECK ENGINE LIGHT CAME ON, I STEPPED ON THE GAS AND IT DID IT AGAIN AND THEN IT RESUMED POWER. I TOOK VEHICLE TO THE DEALER, AND THEY SAID THEY COULDN'T FIND ANYTHING WRONG, BUT ON THE PAPER WORK IT STATED THAT THE CAUSE WAS A SOFTWARE ISSUE , 108 INSPECT AND FLASH PCM TO LATEST SOFTWARE VERSION. PURCHASED JULY 14, 2006. IT RAN GREAT WITH NO PROBLEMS UNTIL JULY 26. I WENT TO TAKE A LEFT OUT OF MY COMPANY'S PARKING LOT AND THE CAR SPUTTERED AND WOULD ACCELERATE FAST. I HAD TO PULL OFF ON THE LEFT SIDE OF THE ROAD TO GET OUT OF THE WAY OF ONCOMING TRAFFIC. I PUT IT IN NEUTRAL AND GAVE IT SOME GAS. I ATTEMPTED TO GO AGAIN WHEN THE TRAFFIC WAS CLEAR AND IT SPUTTERED MORE UNTIL I GAVE IT A LOT OF GAS AND THEN IT DROVE FINE. I THOUGH IT WAS AN ISOLATED INCIDENT SO I DROVE IT HOME. THAT NIGHT MY WIFE, SON AND I TOOK THE CAR TO THE MALL. UPON LEAVING THE MALL IT DID IT AGAIN AND THE ENGINE LIGHT WAS ON. THE DEALERSHIP WAS STILL OPEN AND CLOSE BY SO I DROVE IT DIRECTLY THERE. THEY GAVE ME A LOANER TO DRIVE WHILE THEY ATTEMPTED TO FIX IT. ON AUGUST 9, THEY GAVE THE VEHICLE BACK TO ME. THAT NIGHT IT DID IT AGAIN, EXCEPT THE VEHICLE ACTUALLY DIED ON ME IN THE MIDDLE OF TRAFFIC. THE NEXT DAY IT WAS BACK TO THE DEALER WHERE IS SAT FOR 37 DAYS WHILE THEY TRIED TO FIGURE OUT WHAT WAS WRONG. THEY REPLACED ALL THE OXYGEN SENSORS, THE POWER CONTROL MODULE, THE WIRING HARNESSES AND I AM SURE THERE WERE SOME OTHER THINGS. THEY TEST DROVE IT FOR 9 KEY CYCLES AND 250 MILES AND WERE 98% CONFIDENT THEY FIXED IT SO I GOT THE CAR BACK ON SEPTEMBER 15. THE NEXT DAY THE SAME PROBLEM RETURNED AND I WAS 50 MILES FROM HOME AND THIS TIME THE IDLING OF THE CAR WAS SO ROUGH THAT THE CAR WAS VISIBLY SHAKING. I HAD A FRIEND FOLLOW ME HOME AND SINCE IT WAS A SATURDAY NIGHT, THE DEALERSHIP WAS NOT OPEN AND WOULD NOT BE UNTIL MONDAY. MONDAY MORNING I STARTED THE CAR UP AND LET IT IDLE 5 MINUTES BEFORE LEAVING. WHEN I GOT IN, IT WAS IDLING ROUGH AGAIN AND THE ENGINE LIGHT WAS FLASHING. I SHUT IT DOWN, CALLED A TOW TRUCK AND IT IS BACK AT THE DEALERSHIP WHERE IT WILL STAY BECAUSE I AM NOT TAKING IT BACK. I HAVE REQUESTED VEHICLE REPLACEMENT FROM CHRYSLER AND THE DEALERSHIP.
