shuts off while driving with no warning...Stalls at stop light/sign and when i try to accelerate it has barely goes.. sometimes it seems like it has no power at all and sometimes it seems like it has to much power without me accelerating. Its very dangerous this issue has almost made me get into several accidents

Filled fuel tank up until the pump shut off. As I drove onto the road, the engine suddenly died causing me to run off the shoulder as the power steering went out as well. I eventually got it re-started, but it ran rough and stalled out several more times on my way home. After some online research, I determined that it was probably raw gas getting pulled down the EVAP tube. I avoid the problem now by not filling the tank up all the way, but do it once in a while accidently and the problem returns. Highly dangerous situation.

SERVICE BULLETIN # 14-002-14: Fuel tank "roll over" valve failed immediately after fill-up saturating the purge solenoid and dryer canister for the fuel vapor vent reburning system. This service bulletin described failure caused liquid fuel rather than vapor to be dumped into the intake manifold stalling the vehicle in traffic in unsafe conditions. The car was towed to Beamon Dodge at 1705 S. Church St., 37130 awaiting repair. Dodge customer service was contacted at 1-800-423-6343 where they stated that this VIN was not covered by the service bulletin. Quoted repair for the manufacture defect is $4,680.48. Clearly the vehicles covered by this service bulletin are incomplete. Complaints of this failure can be found on the internet through 2014 when this service bulletin was issued on April 22, 2014. Clearly Dodge corrected nothing in their manufacturing and NHTSA is not protecting all consumers.

Every since had car ticks.Was driving after fill up and car just turned off having me almost hit 8 cars on the highway with my 5 year old son in car. Now will not start. Days later it starts and tick then turns off. Found out it’s common problem everybody has in these 5.7 hemi engines lifters/ cam.

MY VEHICLE BEGINS TO STALL OUT AT LOW SPEEDS OR WHILE IDLING. WHILE SLOWING DOWN FOR A LIGHT OR JUST WAITING FOR THE TRAFFIC LIGHT TO CHANGE. I BROUGHT THE VEHICLE TO THE CHRYSLER DEALERSHIP AT GWINNETTE CHRYSLER STONE MOUNTAIN GEORGIA AND THE PROBLEM WAS DIAGNOSED TO BE THE FUEL TANK NEEDING REPLACEMENT AFTER PAYING 3000.00 DOLLARS FOR REPAIRS THAT DID NOT RESOLVE THE ISSUE. I WAS THEN GIVEN A FINAL DIAGNOSIS THAT THE FUEL TANK WAS THE ISSUE AND IT WAS GOING TO COST 4500.00 TO REPLACE. TODAY IS APRIL 1 AND I JUST PICKED UP MY VEHICLE AFTER IT WAS SITTING IN THE DEALERSHIP FOR ALMOST 1 MONTH AND STILL THE PROBLEM HAS NOT BEEN RESOLVED. PLEASE HELP ME. I WAS DRIVING MY CAR WHEN ALL OF A SUDDEN FLAMES WERE COMING FROM UNDER THE HOOD ON THE DRIVER SIDE. I PULLED OVER, GOT OUT AND CALLED 911. BY THE TIME THE FIRE DEPARTMENT PUT OUT THE FIRE, MY CAR WAS TOTALED. THERE MUST HAVE BEEN A DEFECT SOMEWHERE UNDER THE HOOD. IT MAY HAVE BEEN THE ENGINE WHICH I HAD TO REPLACE AT 66,841 MILES FOR OVER $8,000. I GOT NO WARNINGS ON THE DASH, JUST FIRE FROM UNDER THE HOOD.

I POPPED THE HOOD AND FOUND SOME SHATTERED PLASTIC PIECES. UPON MY 1ST INSPECTIONS MY FAN WAS WHAT SHATTERED. I MADE A FEW CALLS AND WHEN A MECHANIC CAME TO INSPECT 20 MINUTES LATER, HE SAID THE FAN EXPLODED CAUSING PIECES TO THEN HIT THE RADIATOR. NOW BOTH PARTS NEED TO BE REPLACED. NOW INVESTIGATION, I SEE THIS IS A COMMON PROBLEM FOR CHARGERS AND I'M WONDERING WHY THERE ISN'T A RECALL. I CANT EVEN IMAGINE WHAT COULD'VE HAPPENED IF I WAS DRIVING. I ALSO HAD MY CHILD IN THE CAR. SCARY ENOUGH WHILE THE CAR WASN'T MOVING. TIS HAPPENED OUT OF THE BLUE WITH NO PRIOR WARNINGS.

I WAS SITTING AT A STOP LIGHT AND HEARD A POP. THE COOLING FAN BLADE ON THE PASSENGER SIDE OF THE CAR HAD BROKEN AND MADE A HOLE IN MY RADIATOR. I IMMEDIATELY TOOK THE CAR TO A MECHANIC AND THEY REPLACED THE FAN BLADE AND THE RADIATOR. THREE WEEKS LATER THE EXACT SAME THING HAPPENED TO THE FAN BLADE ON THE DRIVER SIDE OF THE CAR, ONCE AGAIN MAKING A HOLE IN MY NEW RADIATOR. I FEEL THAT THIS IS A HUGE DESIGN FLAW AND, APPARENTLY, A HUGE PROBLEM WITH 2006-2008 CHARGERS. I'M SO GLAD I WAS IN TOWN ON SMALL LOCAL STREETS BOTH TIMES WHEN THIS HAPPENED. IT WOULD HAVE BEEN TERRIBLE IF IT HAD HAPPENED ON THE FREEWAY. I CHECKED WITH THE DEALER TO SEE IF THERE IS ANY KIND OF RECALL FOR THIS PART AND THERE ISN'T. I HAVE THE 5.7L V6 HEMI CHARGER AND IT HAS A LITTLE OVER 100,000 MILES.

I THEN DROVE IT TO HILLTOP CHRYSLER JEEP DODGE RAM LOCATED AT 3291 AUTO PLAZA DRIVE, RICHMOND, CA 94806 (510) 243-6100 WHERE I WAS CHARGED OVER $1100 TO BE TOLD THAT MY ENGINE HAD DROPPED A VALVE SEAT. I WAS THEN TOLD THAT IT WOULD BE OVER $9000 FOR A NEW ENGINE AS THEY DON'T REPAIR OLD ENGINES.

THE VEHICLE WAS TOWED TO THE DEALER (CHRYSLER DODGE JEEP, 540-905-7223, WARRENTON, VA) FOR A SECOND DIAGNOSTIC TEST, WHICH CONFIRMED THAT THE ENGINE FAN BLADE FRACTURED AND CAUSED THE RADIATOR TO FAIL. THE MANUFACTURER INFORMED THE CONTACT THAT THE VEHICLE WAS NOT INCLUDED IN THE ENGINE BLADE REPLACEMENT WARRANTY. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 52,000.

PROBLEM #1: ONE OF THE COOLING FAN BLADES SHEERED OFF AND & FLEW INTO THE RADIATOR. I WAS AT A COMPLETE STOP AND BROKE OFF WHEN I STARTED TO ACCELERATE. I REPLACED THE BROKEN BLADE (DIDN'T HAVE ENOUGH MONEY TO REPLACE BOTH) AND RADIATOR. ABOUT A YEAR OR LESS LATER THE OTHER FAN BLADE SHEERED OFF (THE ONE I DIDN'T REPLACE) AND WENT INTO THE RADIATOR. THIS TIME ALSO DURING ACCELERATING AFTER A COMPLETE STOP. DEJA VU. THIS TIME I HAD TO REPLACE THE ENTIRE FAN ASSEMBLY (BECAUSE THE BLADES WERE ON BACKORDER) AND RADIATOR. WHEN I WENT TO THE DODGE DEALERSHIP THEY SAID THERE WAS A RECALL ON THE SAME BLADES BUT ONLY THE 2006 MODEL. PROBLEM #2: IT IS NOW LOOSING PROPULSION. THE POWER STAYS ON IT JUST STOPS MOVING FORWARD. I CAN PUT IT IN PARK & THEN BACK IN GEAR AND IT MOVES, BUT BARELY. IT ISN'T CONSISTENT BUT IT IS TERRIFYING. I HAVE GOOGLED POSSIBLE ISSUES AND IT SEEMS LIKE A LOT OF PEOPLE ARE HAVING THE SAME PROBLEM AND THEY HAVE LINKED IT TO A BAD PCM. I TOOK IT TO A MECHANIC BUT OF COURSE IT DIDN'T DO IT WHILE HE HAD IT. I HAVE BEEN TOLD, BY DODGE, THAT THEY ARE THE ONLY ONES THAT CAN DO A FULL DIAGNOSTIC, THAT OTHER DEVICES ONLY COVER ABOUT 30% OF THE PROGRAM. THAT ALONE SEEMS UNFAIR IF NOT ILLEGAL. I CANNOT AFFORD $110 JUST TO FIND OUT WHAT'S WRONG. MY TRUNK LIGHT DOESN'T WORK EITHER & EVEN DODGE CAN'T FIND OUT WHY. IT'S NOT THE BULB, IT'S NOT THE FUSE, AND THE ELECTRICAL CONNECTION IS GOOD. ACCORDING TO THEM. I HAVE MORE IMAGES AND RECEIPTS BUT CAN'T FIGURE OUT HOW TO ATTACH THEM.

TOOK IT TO THE DODGE DEALERSHIP IN TOWN AND THEY TOLD ME THE RECALL L08 WAS ONLY FOR THE V6 MOTORS AND I HAD TO FIX IT MYSELF.

I CONTACTED DODGE AND THE LADY I SPOKE WITH DID KNOW ABOUT THE PROBLEM BUT SHE STATED THAT MY CAR WAS MADE IN A DIFFERENT FACTORY SO I WAS NOT PART OF THE RECALL. WE WERE ONLY MINUTES AWAY FROM OUR HOME WHEN THIS OCCURRED, SO WE WERE ABLE TO IMMEDIATELY RETURNED HOME. ONCE THE VEHICLE WAS PARKED IN THE DRIVEWAY, THE HOOD WAS OPENED AND WE BOTH OBSERVED A PLASTIC FAN BLADE BROKEN AND HANGING OUT OF THE FAN'S CASING. WE ALSO OBSERVED FLUID INSIDE OF THE HOOD UNDERNEATH OF THW LINE DIRECTLY ACROSS FROM THE BROKEN HANGING FAN BLADE. WE ALSO OBSERVED FLUID ON THE GROUND DIRECTLY UNDERNEATH OF THIS LINE. VEHICLE HAS 137,000 MILES ON IT. VEHICLE IS SCHEDULED TO GO INTO SHOP MONDAY MORNING.

MY RADIATOR FAN MOTOR ASSEMBLY LOCKED UP AND A BLADE CAME OFF. THE BLADE WENT INTO THE RADIATOR. IT DAMANGED THE RADIATOR AND LEFT ME STRANDED. HAD NO PRIER NOISES OR PROLEMS. TOOK IT TO THE SHOP. COST ME $677.27 TO REPLACE THE RADIATOR, THE HOESE, ANTIFREEZE, HOSE CLAMPS AND RADIATOR FAN MOTOR ASSEMLY. THE GUY THAT FIXED MINE SAID HE SEE THIS EVERY WEEK IN CHARGERS. INFACT OUR WHOLE POLICE DEPARTMENT SWITCHED FROM CHARGES FOR THIS REASON. I CALLED THE DEALERSHIP AND THE DODGE # AND THEY SAID THERE IS NOTHING TO DO TO HELP OUT BECAUSE OF AGE AND MILEAGE OF CARE. WASN'T HAPPY BECAUSE ONLINE THERE ARE PLENTY OF DISCUSSIONS ABOUT THE SAME ISSUE.MY DEALERSHIP DOESN'T FIX THEM UNLESS THEY ARE UNDERWARRANTY. I REPLACED THE THERMOSTAT, THE COOLANT TOP ITSELF, I DID A RADIATOR FLUSH AND ALSO CHANGED SPARK PLUGS AND AT THIS POINT I DON'T KNOW WHAT ELSE TO DO. MY CAR HAS 15400 MILES ON IT AND IT HAPPENS DAY AFTER DAY BUT NOW IT SEEMS AS IF THE ISSUE HAS GOTTEN WORSE. I WAS TOLD THAT ALL OR MOST THE 2.7 ENGINES HAS HAD THIS ISSUE AND HAD TO REPLACE THE WHOLE ENGINE. AFTER EXPLAINING TO DODGE CHRYSLER JEEP WHAT MY VEHICLE WAS DOING I PAID $125 FOR A DIAGNOSTIC TEST AND THEY SAID THAT IT FAILED THE BLOCK TEST AND IT'S RECOMMENDED TO TEAR DOWN THE TOP CYLINDER HEADS TO CHECK FOR WARPED GASKETS. ON JUNE 2, 2014 I WAS STOPPED AT A STOP LIGHT WAITING TO TURN WHEN I HEARD A LOUD BANG FOLLOWED BY WHAT FELT LIKE SOMETHING FALLING OUT OF MY MOTOR. I DID NOT WANT TO DRIVE MY CAR ANY FURTHER IN ORDER TO PREVENT ANY UNNECESSARY DAMAGES. I CALLED MY HUSBAND WHO THEN CAME TO GET ME AND CHECK THE PROBLEM. HE NOTICED THAT THE FANS ON THE COOLING SYSTEM WERE NOT WORKING. ONE COMPLETELY LOCKED WHICH CAUSED SOME OF THE FANS TO BREAK AND THE OTHER JUST STOPPED WORKING. I LOOKED ON LINE TO SEE IF THERE WERE ANY SIMILAR OCCURRENCES OF THIS HAPPENING. I CAME UPON CHRYSLER CUSTOMER SERVICE NOTIFICATION L08, WHICH IMPLIES THAT THIS PROBLEM HAS HAPPENED ON OVER 55,000 VEHICLES. I CONTACTED MY LOCAL DEALERSHIP AND WAS HAD THEM LOOK INTO IT. ACCORDING TO THE NOTIFICATION IT STATES THAT ONLY THE SEVERE COOLING SYSTEMS ON 2006-2008 DODGE CHARGERS ARE HAVING THIS OCCUR. MY VEHICLE IS A 2007 DODGE CHARGER 3.5 L V6 WHICH IS NOT COVERED UNDER THE CUSTOMER SERVICE NOTIFICATION SINCE IT ONLY CARRIES THE HEAVY DUTY COOLING SYSTEM. SO MY DEALERSHIP WILL NOT COVER THE COST TO FIX THE SAME PROBLEM OCCURRING ON LIKE MAKE AND MODEL VEHICLES. HOWEVER, DURING OPERATION MY COOLING LOCKED AND STOPPED WORKING. I HAVE HAD THE CAR STALL THREE TIMES IN A ROW ON A SINGLE INSTANCE RECENTLY WITH THE THIRD TIME IT FINALLY CAUGHT AND DID NOT STALL, BUT I FEARED IT WOULD NOT START AT ALL. I HAVE HAD AN INSTANCE RECENTLY OF THE CAR STALLING WHILE AT LOW SPEEDS (10-20 MPH) AS I'M SLOWING DOWN. ALL OTHER TIMES WERE AT AN ACTUAL STOP. WHILE TRAVELING AT 40+ MPH I ATTEMPTED TO ACCELERATE BY PRESSING THE ACCELERATOR PEDAL ALL THE WAY, THE DODGE CHARGER RT(5.7L V8) DID NOT REACT AND KEPT ACCELERATING AT THE NORMAL RATE BEFORE I PRESSED THE ACCELERATOR. THIS IS REGARDING A 2007 DODGE CHARGER SRT-8. THE VEHICLE WAS FUNCTIONING NORMALLY WHEN I WAS SUDDENLY UNABLE TO ACCELERATE IN STOP AND GO TRAFFIC. THE TRACTION CONTROL AND ELECTRONIC THROTTLE CONTROL (ETC) WARNING LIGHTS ILLUMINATED AND THE VEHICLE BEGAN "SPUTTERING" AS I TRIED TO ACCELERATE. I EXITED AT THE NEXT AVAILABLE OFF-RAMP AND CAME TO A STOP AT WHICH POINT THE ENGINE SHUT OFF AND I WAS UNABLE TO START IT AGAIN. I HAD IT TOWED TO THE NEAREST CHRYSLER/DODGE DEALERSHIP/SERVICE CENTER AND AFTER ABOUT A WEEK I WAS INFORMED THAT THE #2 CYLINDER HAD 0 PSI COMPRESSION. THEY SAID THEY HAD TO OPEN THE ENGINE TO GET FURTHER INFORMATION AS TO WHY IT HAD NO COMPRESSION. AFTER OPENING THE ENGINE, THEY FOUND THAT THE VALVE SEAT FOR THE #2 CYLINDER WAS WARN AND NEEDS TO BE REPLACED. GIVEN THAT THIS VEHICLE ONLY HAS 70K MILES ON IT, I BELIEVE THIS FAILURE IS PREMATURE. THERE WERE ABSOLUTELY NO SIGNS OF DEGRADATION IN VEHICLE PERFORMANCE LEADING UP TO THIS INCIDENT. I USE THIS VEHICLE TO COMMUTE TO WORK ABOUT 35 MILES EACH WAY, EVERYDAY. THIS EXACT FAILURE OCCURRED TO MY VEHICLE COSTING ME IN EXCESS OF $2000 BUT THE CHRYSLER GROUP REFUSED TO OFFER ASSISTANCE DUE TO THE FACT THAT MY VIN FELL OUTSIDE OF THE RANGE TO THE VINS INCLUDED IN THE RECALL AND THAT MY VEHICLE WAS OUT OF WARRANTY. I REQUEST THAT A THE EXISTING RECALL BE EXPANDED TO ALL OF THE VEHICLES TYPES LISTED WITHIN THE 2006-2008 TIME FRAME INSTEAD OF LIMITING TO THE 52,000 ESTIMATED IN THE NOTIFICATION. *TR UPDATED 01/24/13

TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2007 DODGE CHARGER. THE CONTACT STATED THAT THE VEHICLE STALLED WITHOUT WARNING WHILE IDLING AT A TRAFFIC STOP. THE CONTACT TOOK THE VEHICLE TO THE DEALER AND THE DEALER WAS UNABLE TO FIND A PROBLEM WITH THE VEHICLE. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS UNKNOWN, BUT THE CURRENT MILEAGE WAS 37,000. I WAS DRIVING HOME ALONG WITH MY WIFE FROM RUNNING ERRANDS WHEN MY VEHICLE SHUT DOWN WHILE DRIVING AT 45MPHS PER HOUR. I CALLED AAA TO COME AND TOW MY VEHICLE. THEY DID JUST THAT AND THE SERVICE-CONTRACTED TOWING COMPANY FOR AAA DROPPED MY DODGE CHARGER RT OFF TO THE AUTO REPAIR SHOP THAT I'M ACCUSTOMED TO GOING. THE MECHANIC TOLD ME THAT THE BATTERY WAS DRAINED HEAVILY FROM THE ENGINE PROBLEM. SO HE TOOK OUT THE OLD BATTERY I HAD AND PUT IN A NEW BATTERY. ONCE HE DID THAT HE TRIED TO GET THE DODGE CHARGER RT TO START BUT THERE WAS NO LUCK. BUT EVENTUALLY SOME ELECTRICAL POWER WAS RESTORED TO A LEVEL IN ORDER FOR A DIAGNOSTIC TEST TO BE PERFORMED. ONCE THIS MECHANIC COMPLETED THE DIAGNOSTIC TEST HE TOLD ME THAT THE CODES HE RECEIVED ARE IDENTICAL TO THE RECALL PROBLEMS ASSOCIATED WITH THE 2007 MODEL OF THE DODGE CHARGER RT. HE TOLD ME THAT THE 2007 MODEL FOR THIS VEHICLE HAD THE MOST RECALL PROBLEMS FOR THE ISSUE THAT I EXPERIENCED WHICH WERE ENGINE PROBLEMS. HE SAID THAT THE ENGINE PROBLEMS WERE THE SECOND MOST RECALLED ISSUE AFTER THE TRANSMISSION PROBLEMS FOR THIS VEHICLE. HE TOLD ME THAT I NEEDED TO INVESTIGATE ABOUT GETTING A RECALL COMPLAINT MADE FOR THIS VEHICLE WITH THE MANUFACTURER (DODGE), BECAUSE THE ENGINE PROBLEM JUSTIFIED THE SAME RECALL ISSUES THAT PREVIOUS OWNERS HAD WITH THE MODEL AND YEAR OF THIS VEHICLE. PLEASE HELP ME BECAUSE I WAS TOLD THAT THE MANUFACTURER WARRANTY EXPIRED. *TR

REVERSE WENT OUT IN TRANSMISSION. THERE WAS NO WARNING OF ANY SORT. HAD NO IDEA THAT I EVEN HAD ANY PROBLEMS. TOOK VEHICLE TO THE DEALERSHIP TO BE REPAIRED UNDER WARRANTY. WAS WITHOUT MY VEHICLE FOR ALMOST A MONTH WHILE STILL HAVING TO MAKE PAYMENTS AND FIND ANOTHER WAY OF GETTING AROUND.VEHICLE WAS JUST OVER A YEAR OLD. GOT THE VEHICLE BACK AND THE REVERSE WENT OUT IN THE TRANSMISSION AGAIN AS WELL AS THE REAR MAIN SEAL LEAKING. TOOK VEHICLE BACK TO DEALERSHIP FOR MORE REPAIRS AND WAS WITHOUT MY VEHICLE AGAIN FOR ALMOST A MONTH. NOW, THE MOTOR IS KNOCKING AND SKIPPING AND VEHICLE HAS LESS THAN 95,000 MILES. THESE CARS ARE LEMONS AND I DON'T KNOW HOW CHRYSLER CORPORATION IS GETTING AWAY WITH THIS AND I SURE DO NOT RECOMMEND ANYONE BUYING A DODGE. WISH I HAD NEVER BOUGHT THIS VEHICLE AND SOMEBODY NEEDS TO STEP UP TO THE PLATE AND MAKE IT RIGHT. SAD PART IS I AM STUCK WITH A VEHICLE THAT IS GOING TO NEED MAJOR ENGINE REPAIRS OR ENGINE REPLACE AND I STILL OWE ON THE VEHICLE AND OF COURSE THERE IS NO WARRANTY LEFT. *TR
