Power train, transmission output shaft fracture could result in a loss of power, increasing the risk of a crash. if the parking brake is not applied before exiting the vehicle, the vehicle may roll away despite the transmission being placed in park. The vehicle has been inspected. There are warning lights. They appeared 02/29/2024

I made an appointment with a dealership to get the recall repaired. I took it to the dealership the next day to drop it off so they can repair it. A few days later I get a call saying that the airbag inflator is badly damaged and wanted me to pay $1100 for it when it’s a free recall. And I declined the offer for it and picked it up the next day and left.

THE CONTACT WAS INFORMED THAT THE FAILURE WAS DUE TO THE AIR BAG SENSOR UNDERNEATH THE PASSENGER'S FRONT SEAT. THE CONTACT WAS INFORMED TO DRIVE THE VEHICLE FOR AN ADDITIONAL 70 MILES FOR THE COMPUTER TO RESET. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOT INFORMED OF THE FAILURE. I HAVE BEEN INVOLVED IN TWO SEPARATE CRASHES WITH THIS VEHICLE. THE FIRST AT 46 MPH, WITH SIGNIFICANT FRONT END DAMAGE. THE SECOND, AFTER THE CAR WAS REPAIRED WAS AT 75 MPH. DURING THE FIRST CRASH, NO AIRBAGS DEPLOYED. DURING THE SECOND CRASH ONLY THE CURTAIN/SIDE AIRBAGS DEPLOYED ON THE PASSENGER SIDE OF THE CAR. I WAS SEATBELTED IN, PROPERLY, AND SUFFERED BRUISED LUNGS AND A CONCUSSION.

I HAVE SINCE COME TO DISCOVER THAT THE VEHICLE HAS 5 ACTIVE SAFETY RECALLS, NONE OF WHICH WERE ADDRESSED OR FIXED PRIOR TO THE DEALERSHIP SELLING ME THE CAR. SEVERAL OF THE RECALLS HAVE BEEN IN PLACE FOR YEARS, BUT I WAS NEVER INFORMED THAT I WAS BEING SOLD A VEHICLE KNOWN TO BE UNSAFE. I AM NOW PAYING ON A FINANCED VEHICLE THAT CANNOT BE DRIVEN OUT OF TOWN, DUE TO KNOWN DEFECTS THAT WERE IN PLACE AT THE TIME OF PURCHASE.

THE WAS A RECALL ISSUE FIXED ON MY VEHICLE SOMETIME LAST YEAR WHERE IF I'M NOT MISTAKEN, THEY WENT INTO MY DASH AND/OR REMOVED THE DASH. ALSO THE AIRBAG LIGHT WOULD GO ON AND OFF. SINCE THEN, I'VE STARTED TO EXPERIENCE CLICKING/KNOCKING WHERE THE AIRBAG WOULD BE LOCATED AND THE AIR BAGS LIGHT IS ON AND OFF VERY FREQUENTLY AS WELL. IF I HIT A BUMP ON THE SIDE WHERE THE CLICKING OCCURS, THE AIR BAG LIGHT WILL COME ON. NOT SURE IF THE PROBLEM IS RELATED TO THE RECALL THAT WAS SUPPOSEDLY FIXED IN THE PAST, HOWEVER THERE WAS NO CLICKING/KNOCKING IN THE DASHBOARD PRIOR TO THE FIX, ONLY AIRBAG LIGHT. I JUST DON'T WANT IT TO BE AN AIRBAG ISSUE OR IT DEPLOYS WHILE I'M DRIVING. NOT ABLE TO PUT IN AN EXACT DATE BECAUSE IT HAPPENS EVERYDAY, SO ONLY ENTERED TODAY'S DATE.

TWICE I WAS DRIVING DOWN THE ROAD, THE BRAKE PEDAL WOULD DO SOMETHING FUNNY AND THE THOSE LIGHTS WOULD COME ON. THE SECOND TIME(CURRENTLY AND OCCURRED ON JUNE 4TH) THE AIRBAG WARNING LIGHT CAME ON AS WELL. THE FIRST TIME THE ABS AND TRACTION LIGHT CAME ON, I WAS TOLD IT WAS A ABS SENSOR, AND I PAID THE DEALERSHIP $250.00. THIS TIME LESS THAN 2 MONTHS LATER, THE DEALERSHIP IS SAYING IT IS YET ANOTHER SENSOR CAUSING THOSE LIGHTS TO ILLUMINATE. AND AS FAR AS THE AIRBAG GOES, IT'S FAULTY WIRING AND THAT IT NEEDED ANOTHER WIRING HARNESS. THESE REPAIRS WOULD COST ME OVER $600.00. I HAVE TWO FRIENDS THAT HAVE THE SAME VEHICLE AND ARE HAVING THE EXACT SAME PROBLEMS WITH THE ABS AND TRACTION CONTROL LIGHTS. THIS SEEMS TO BE A OVERALL DODGE ISSUE AS FAR AS THE CHARGERS GO.

ALTHOUGH THE OWNERS MANUAL FOR MY VEHICLE STATES THAT AN AIRBAG LIGHT NEEDS TO BE CHECKED IMMEDIATELY, THIS MORNING I WAS UNABLE TO OBTAIN A SERVICE APPOINTMENT DESPITE MY HAVING CONTACTED TWO LOCAL DODGE DEALERSHIPS. WHEN I SPOKE WITH THE SERVICE DEPARTMENTS AT BOTH DEALERSHIPS, I WAS TOLD THAT THE AIRBAGS ON MY VEHICLE MAY NOT BE WORKING. HOWEVER, NEITHER DEALERSHIP WOULD GIVE ME A A SERVICE APPOINTMENT UNTIL NEXT WEEK. WHEN I CALLED FIAT CHRYSLER'S CUSTOMER DEPARTMENT, I WAS TOLD THAT MY VEHICLE IS SUBJECT TO A SAFETY RECALL DUE TO A PROBLEM WITH ITS AIRBAGS. IT WAS ALSO ACKNOWLEDGED BY THE REPRESENTATIVE WITH WHOM I SPOKE THAT ONE OR MORE OF THE AIRBAGS ON MY VEHICLE MAY NOT BE WORKING. IN SPITE OF THIS, AND IN SPITE OF THE RECALL, FIAT CHRYSLER TOLD ME THAT IT IS UNABLE TO GET ME A SERVICE APPOINTMENT TODAY TO HAVE THE RECALL AND AIRBAG WARNING LIGHT ISSUES ADDRESSED. FURTHERMORE, I WAS TOLD THAT IF THE AIRBAG WARNING LIGHT PROBLEM IS NOT RELATED TO THE RECALL, I MIGHT HAVE TO PAY TO HAVE THE PROBLEM ADDRESSED IF IT IS NOT COVERED BY WARRANTY. ALTHOUGH I ASKED TO BE GIVEN A RENTAL CAR TODAY TO DRIVE UNTIL MY VEHICLE CAN BE SEEN AT A DEALERSHIP, FIAT CHRYSLER WOULD NOT AUTHORIZE ME TO RECEIVE A RENTAL CAR FREE OF CHARGE, AND INSTEAD TOLD ME THAT I WOULD HAVE TO RENT A CAR USING MY OWN MONEY AND SEEK REIMBURSEMENT. FIAT CHRYSLER HAS TOLD ME THAT MY COMPLAINT HAS BEEN "ESCALATED" AND THAT I WOULD RECEIVED A RETURN CALL FROM FIAT CHRYSLER "AS SOON AS POSSIBLE," DESPITE WHICH I HAVE NOT RECEIVED A RETURN PHONE CALL. I NOW HAVE AN APPOINTMENT WITH LUCAS DODGE IN MT. HOLLY, NEW JERSEY, BUT FOR TODAY I AM BEING FORCED TO DRIVE A VEHICLE THAT MAY HAVE EITHER DEFECTIVE AIRBAGS OR NO WORKING AIRBAGS AT ALL.

SENSOR LIGHT FOR AIRBAG ILLUMINATED WHEN RETURNING FROM OUT OF TOWN TRIP YESTERDAY 04-AUG-15. I FIRST SEARCHED FOR RECALLS AND FOUND AN ARTICLE THAT 2 DAYS AGO THERE WAS A RECALL ON SELECT VEHICLES. THE VEHICLES LISTED INCLUDED DODGE CHARGERS 2011-2014. I CALLED TO CONFIRM WITH DEALERSHIP WHETHER OR NOT MY PARTICULAR VIN WAS INVOLVED IN THE RECALL. I WAS TOLD IT WAS NOT. I WAS TOLD OH THERE'S A RECALL, WE NEED TO MAKE YOU AN APPOINTMENT. I TOOK MY CAR IN ON THE SCHEDULED DAY, BUT THE NEXT DAY I WAS TOLD THAT ITS A WIRING ISSUE AND THE AIRBAGS MAY NOT DEPLOY. THE FACTORY WARRANTY EXPIRED SO YOU'RE RESPONSIBLE IS WHAT I WAS TOLD BY THE DEALERSHIP AND CHRYSLER GROUP LLC. I DISAGREE SINCE THIS COULD POTENTIALLY BE A FACTORY DEFECT. NO PRELIMINARY INVESTIGATION SINCE THIS SAME ISSUE IS KNOWN WITH THE 2012 MODELS. WHAT DOES IT TAKE BEFORE A RECALL IS ISSUED ON THESE DODGE CHARGERS.
