VARIOUS PROBLEMS WITH 1995 DODGE DAKOTA. *MR WHILE, MAKING A LEFT HAND TURN, THE VEHICLE SHUT DOWN COMPLETELY. THE FUEL PUMP WAS FOUND TO BE BAD. AT 25596 THE FUEL SENDING UNIT FAILED TO READ ACCURATELY, AT 59209, THE GAS CONNECTOR FAILED. THE CONSUMER REQUESTED TO BE COMPENSATED FOR THE BREAK DOWN(S). THE VEHICLE ALSO HAD A PROBLEM WITH SPARK PLUG KNOCKING AND ENGINE OIL CONSUMPTION. THE INTAKE MANIFOLD HAD A LEAK, THERE WERE UNRESOLVED SUSPENSION PROBLEMS, THERE WAS A CLUNKING NOISE WHEN GOING OVER BUMPS, THE REPLACEMENT STEERING COLUMN HAD PLAY IN IT, THERE WAS A BAD BALL JOINT, AND THE AIR BAG WAS INOPERATIVE. *SC

CONSUMER STATES THAT THERES KNOCKING IN ENGINE AT ANY SPEED OR SITTING STILL, CHAIN IS HITTING THE SIDE OF MOUNTS. CONSUMER STATES IF CHAIN BREAKS AT HIGH SPEED VEHICLE WILL COME TO A STOP, AND CONSUMER COULD BE REAR ENDED. PLEASE PROVIDE ANY FURTHER INFORMATION. MR

I HAVE HAD AN ON-GOING PROBLEM WITH THE COMPUTER SYSTEM THAT OPERATES THE FUEL INJECTION ON MY VEHICLE. AT TIMES, THE ENGINE JUST REVS UP TO SEVERAL THOUSAND RPMS WHILE I'M DRIVING AT 35 OR 45 MPH. AT OTHER TIMES. IT FEELS AS THOUGH THE ENGINE IS ABOUT TO DIE ON ME. I WAS TOLD AT A DODGE DEALERSHIP THAT IT MIGHT BE THE COMPUTER THAT OPERATES THE FUEL SYSTEM. IT IS INCREASING IN BOTH FREQUENCY AND INTENSITY. IT IS GETTING TO BE A REAL PROBLEM AND I'M TOLD THAT IT MAY COST AS MUCH AS $500.00 TO FIX THE PROBLEM. I KNOW TWO OTHER PEOPLE WHO ALSO HAVE DODGE TRUCKS AND THEY BOTH HAVE THE SAME PROBLEM. IT SOUNDS LIKE THIS COULD BE A WIDESPREAD PROBLEM. PLEASE ADVISE ME ON MY OPTIONS, IF YOU KNOW OF ANY. CONSUMER HAS BEEN EXPERIENCING PROBLEMS WITH THE TIMING CHAIN. EVERY 50,00 TO 60,000 MILES TIMING CHAIN GOES OUT. IN ADDITION, THE CONSUMER HEARS A RATTLING NOISE ASSOCIATED WITH THE TIMING CHAIN. THE MANUFACTURER HAS BEEN CONTACTED. *AK

ENGINE OIL PRESSURE DROPED SUDDENLY. ENGINE BEGAN KNOCKING/DESTROYED CRANKSHAFT AND BEARING. CHANGED OIL EVERY 2500 MILES.
TRANSMISSION FAILED/TRANSFER CASE AND FRONT AXLE LEAKED. ALSO OIL PUMP FAILED.
ENGINE HEAD GASKET FAILED.
STEERING WHEEL LOOSE/NOISY. ALSO REPLACED LOOSE/RATTLING EXHAUST SYSTEM.
