The contact owns a 2013 Dodge Dart. The contact stated that the passenger’s side air bag warning light was illuminated while driving. The contact stated that after the first failure, the vehicle was taken to the dealer where the failure was unable to be determined. The vehicle was not repaired. The failure had continued intermittently over the years; however, the warning light had remained illuminated while driving. The manufacturer was notified of the failure and informed the contact to take the vehicle to a dealer for diagnostic testing. The manufacturer stated that the vehicle was not included in a recall. The approximate failure mileage was 30,000.

WHEN A PASSENGER IS SITTING IN THE FRONT PASSENGER SIDE OF THE VEHICLE WITH THE SEAT BELT CONNECTED, THE VEHICLE IS ILLUMINATED A WARNING LIGHT SAYING PASSENGER SEAT U BUCKLED. THIS IS ALSO CAUSING A "SERVICE AIRBAG SYSTEM" TO APPEAR IN THE DASH ALONG WITH THE WARNING LIGHT BEING ILLUMINATED. THE PROBLEM WAS FIRST OBSERVED WHEN A PASSENGER SAT IN MY FRONT PASSENGER SEAT, VEHICLE WAS NOT IN MOTION WHEN THE LIGHTS ILLUMINATED AND CONTINUED TO STAY ILLUMINATED WHILE DRIVING.

THE SERVICE AIRBAG LIGHT ON THE DASHBOARD IS CONTINUOUSLY ON. HAS BEEN THAT WAY SINCE I PURCHASED THE USED CAR IN MAY OF 2014. RECEIVED A RECALL NOTICE AND TOOK TO DEALERSHIP, FIXED AND A FEW MONTHS LATER THE LIGHT WAS BACK ON. IN MAY OF 2018 TOOK VEHICLE TO ANOTHER DEALERSHIP TO FIX THE PASSENGER SEAT BELT SENSOR THAT KEPT STATING NO PASSENGER SEAT BELT EVEN IF THE PERSON IN THE PASSENGER SEAT HAD ALREADY BUCKLED IN, AS WELL AS THE SHIFT CABLE BUSHING BECAUSE IT BECAME DETACHED AND COULD NOT SHIFT ANYMORE AND ALSO LET THEM KNOW ABOUT THE SERVICE AIRBAG LIGHT. DEALERSHIP FIXED ALL AND A FEW MONTHS LATER THE SERVICE AIRBAG LIGHT CAME BACK ON AND HAS BEEN THAT WAY EVER SINCE.

I HAD TOOK MY CAR TO CHRYSLER IN BIDDEFORD IN MAY 2017 C/O THAT MY E-BRAKE WAS NOT HOLDING MY CAR. ONCE I GOT THE CAR BACK I COULD HARDLY LIFT THE BRAKE. THE NEXT TIME I USED IT WAS IN FEBRUARY AND WHEN I PULLED UP ON THE BRAKE LEVEL IT WENT STRAIGHT UP. I CALLED AND LEFT NUMEROUS VM. NO ONE CALLED ME BACK. I WENT BACK IN ON A SATURDAY FOR MY OIL CHANGE. I TALKED TO A REP THERE AND THEY STATED THAT THEY WOULD LEAVE A NOTE FOR SOMEONE TO CALL ME BACK ON MONDAY. I NEVER RECEIVED A CALL BACK. I FINALLY GOT SOMEONE TO MAKE AN APPT FOR ME TO BRING MY CAR IN. ONCE THEY FOUND OUT I NO LONGER HAD THE B TO B WARRANTY THEY STATED THAT I WOULD HAVE TO PAY ALMOST $500. I CALLED AND LEFT A MSG FOR THE GM AND I GOT A CALL BACK FROM THE SALES MANAGER WANTING ME TO TRADED MY CAR IN. I STATED TO HIM I THOUGHT HE WAS CALLING ABOUT THE BRAKE. HE STATED TO BRING IT IN AND THEY WILL PUT IT ON THE LIFT WHILE I TALK TO SALES. THE REP CAME BACK AND STATED DO YOU KNOW THAT YOUR BRAKE DOES NOT WORK. MADE AN APPT FOR A DIAGNOSTIC WHICH I HAD TO PAY FOR AND THEY ORDERED A PART FOR MY CAR. I HAD TO TAKE MY CAR BACK TO BE LOOKED AT BILL DODGE AND THEY STATED THAT MY BRAKE WAS NOT WORKING AND THAT MY CALIPERS WHERE STICKING. I BROUGHT THE CAR BACK IN AND THEY STATED I NEEDED ONE OF MY CALIPERS CHANGED. I STATED I JUST CHANGED ONE THIS SUMMER MAKE SURE YOU GET THE RIGHT ONE. I PICKED UP MY CAR AND TOOK MY CAR TO MY FRIEND IN NH. HIS MECHANIC AGAIN STATED THAT MY BRAKE WAS NOT FIXED AND THAT THE E-BRAKE IS CAUSING THE CALIPERS TO STICK. I GOT MY CAR BACK AND A WEEK LATER (03/01/2019) I WAS IN AN ACCIDENT WHERE A CAR HIT MY DRIVER'S DOOR DOING ABOUT 35+. MY AIR BAGS NEVER WENT OFF. I HAVE 4 AIRBAGS AND NOT ONE WENT OFF. I ALSO DISCOVERED THAT 421 2013 DODGE DART MOPAR 13 SPECIAL-EDITION MODELS WERE RECALLED DUE TO POTENTIAL AIR BAG PROBLEMS, BUT IT WAS STATED ONLY THE SPECIAL EDITION MODELS WERE AFFECTED. DID THESE 2013 MODELS REALLY HAVE DIFFERENT AIR BAG SYSTEMS THAN THE REST OF THE 2013 DARTS?

MY CAR WAS IN THE SHOP MULTIPLE TIMES FOR ISSUES WITH THE ELECTRICAL SYSTEM. THE BATTERY HAS BEEN REPLACED 2-3 TIMES SINCE 2013. INTERIOR LIGHTS SOMETIMES FLICKER. THE NAVIGATION SYSTEM RESETS ITSELF RANDOMLY AND NOW IT CAN'T "FIND" THE MAPS. THEY ARE JUST GONE SOMEHOW. THE SD CARD SLOT WORKS SOMETIMES AND NOT OTHERS, SAME WITH THE BACKUP CAMERA. DODGE HAS BEEN COMPLETELY UNABLE TO FIX THESE.

ON 12.28.2015 MY SON WAS IN A ACCIDENT BECAUSE OF ICE ON HIGHWAY AND THE AIRBAGS DID NOT DEPLOY. THIS IS UNACCEPTABLE . HE COULD OF BEEN BADLY INJURED OR EVEN KILLED. LUCKILY HE ONLY HAS A CONCUSSION. I AM ATTACHING A PICTURE FOR YOU TO LOOK AT. ALSO I WAS TOLD BY THE STATE TROOPER THAT THERE IS A VIDEO OF THE ACCIDENT BECAUSE IT HAPPENED RIGHT IN FRONT OF THEIR TOLL BOOTH WITH CAMERAS. THE OKLAHOMA TURNPIKE AUTHORITIES SHOULD HAVE THE VIDEO. HERE IS A PICTURE THAT THE AUTO BODY TOOK SHOWING THAT THE AIRBAGS DIDN'T NOT DEPLOY. I WAS COMING OFF THE HIGHWAY APPROACHING A LIGHT. AFTER I WAS ABLE TO PRESS IT DOWN IT LET OFF A HISSING NOISE. I TOOK IT IN AND WAS TOLD IT WAS THE BREAK BOOSTER THAT NEEDED TO BE REPLACED. NO ONE WAS ABLE TO INFORM ME WHAT CAUSED IT. I HAVE NEVER HAD ANY TROUBLE PRIOR TO, NO ACCIDENTS AND I AM CONSISTENT WITH SERVICE. IT IS CLEAR THIS IS A MANUFACTURING PROBLEM AND A RECALL IS IN ORDER. I DO UNDERSTAND THIS IS NOT THE FIRST OR ONLY COMPLAINT FOR THE VERY SAME ISSUE. THIS COULD RESULT IN DEATH. THE WASTE GATE ACTUATOR HAS BEEN REPLACE 3 TIMES. 08/12/14 THE VACUUM SENSOR SIGNAL REPLACED POWER BRAKE CHECK VALVE AND SADDER AND REPAIRED 2 WIRES GOING TO THE VACUUM SENSOR. TRANSMISSION CONTROL MODULE HAS BEEN REPLACED TWICE ON 09/11/15. ON 06/26/14 THE CRUISE CONTROL SWITCH WAS REPLACED BUT STILL DOES NOT WORK PROPERLY BECAUSE THE CAR IS ALWAYS HAVING A PROBLEM WHICH WILL STOP IT FROM WORKING. ON 06/26/14 THE CONTROL PANEL WAS REPLACED. ON 02/18/15 PCM RADIO WIRING, RIGHT FRONT DOOR AND SUBWOOFER SPEAKERS REPLACED. ON 08/27/15 FRONT STRUTS AND BACK SHOCK ABSORBERS REPLACED. ON 09/01/15 REPLACED BATTERY AND TRANSMISSION LIGHT CAME ON. I HAVE RECENTLY HAD ALL THE UPDATES DONE ON MY CAR WHILE ITS BEEN IN THE SHOP AND NOW I AM TIRED OF BEING TAKEN ADVANTAGE OF BY CHRYSLER. I SHOULD NOT HAVE TO LOSE THOUSANDS OF DOLLARS TO TRADE OR SELL MY CAR BACK TO A DEALER TO GET OUT OF THIS NIGHTMARE. I WANT MY CAR RECALLED BACK FOR A FULL REFUND BECAUSE OF THE REOCCURRING PROBLEMS I KEEP HAVING. I HAVE SENT A LEMON LAW LETTER TO CHRYSLER ON SEPTEMBER 14, 2014 AND PUT THEM ON NOTICE ABOUT ALL THE PROBLEMS WITH THIS CAR AND DEMANDED A BUY BACK WHICH IN TURN THEY GAVE ME AN EXTENDED WARRANTY WHICH HAS COVERED ALL THE REPAIR EXPENSES. I ALSO JUST SETTLED A LAW SUIT WITH CHRYSLER THROUGH THE LAW OFFICES OF KROHN AND MOSS IN CHICAGO THE LAWYER DID NOT PURSUE MY CASE IN COURT DUE TO BEING OUT OF STATE. SO THEREFORE, I ONLY WON $5,000.00 TO COVER THE ATTORNEY FEE OF $3,500.00 LEAVING ME $1,500.00. MY TOTAL PURCHASE PRICE WAS $21,671.00 AND THAT IS WHAT I AM FIGHTING FOR!

I HAVE HAD THIS VEHICLE ABOUT SEVEN MONTHS AND ALREADY HAVE HAD TO HAVE THE VEHICLE IN TWICE FOR THE SERVICE AIRBAG SYSTEM LIGHT ON. THE FIRST TIME, THEY DIDN'T REALLY FIND ANYTHING WRONG AS THE LIGHT WAS OFF BY THE TIME I GOT TO THE DEALER. THEY ADVISED ME THAT THEY UPDATED SOME COMPUTER SYSTEM AT THAT POINT. I HAD IT IN AGAIN IN JANUARY FOR THE SAME ISSUE, AND THEY COULDN'T FIGURE OUT EXACTLY WHAT THE PROBLEM WAS, BUT THEY WENT AHEAD AND REPLACED THE DASH CLUSTER THINKING IT WOULD FIX THE ISSUE.
