As I read the above comments/complaints on the 2014 Dodge Dart, I have realized that we all are having the same issues with the recall, the car not engaging in park, and the Keyfob not working properly where it takes from 5-30 minutes to turn the car off because it is still in the acc mode. Now the car has started yet ANOTHER problem that it doesn’t want to start. I paid for a tow to the repair shop and they checked everything out and could find absolutely nothing wrong, no codes showing up, nothing. I had bought a new battery, was about to replace the ignition switch and/or starter but the shop had experience with Dodge 2014 before and the same issues with no apparent issues?? I did pay for another key and fob which wasted $200 because even afterwards the fob wouldn’t release due to the car not going into the park position 100% and I’m still having all these problems. It is definitely a safety issue and we all are left here driving this piece of junk that the manufacturer doesn’t seem to have any answer or as they say “remedy” for the issue. And that’s another thing- we are having ISSUES not an issue. This problem has more involved than the recall and for the amount of people that have submitted a complaint should be an eye opener for the manufacturer - because most people don’t even report it because they don’t know to and the service department is going to get the money! There is and has been something going on with the entire braking, parking, transmission, cable, the last recall my car I was told wasn’t affected however the brakes went out totally without any warning or problem before hand. Said there was fluid or something that messed it up and it cost me $2000 to repair it when the exact issue was going on with the dodge dart 2013-2014 but of course MY CAR was not in that recall even though it had the same problem as the cats which were affected by the recall. I’ll never never purchase another Dodge and would advise anyone else not to purchase one.

After parking, I try to put the car into park and it will not go all the way to park. The key fob will not come out of the ignition, so the battery is still being used with the dashboard lights on. No alert or alarm lights show an issue. This has occurred MANY times. Finally, after waiting from 5-45 minutes, you can hear a click in the front area (gear area) and then I can turn the switch completely to off and remove the Key fob. I went to a repair shop and they scanned for problems/codes on the reader. But nothing shows up. Thinking it may be the fob itself, I had the locksmith come and replace the fob and program it. It still continues to be an issue. Not every time I drive, but enough that it has been a safety concern as well if I’m away from home. There have also been many times that after cranking the car, disengaging the emergency brake and then placing it in reverse, the car tries to go into reverse direction like the gas pedal is being pressed and if my foot isn’t on the brake, it will quickly back up without even touching the gas pedal.?? But I do have my foot applied to the brake pedal. I’m unsure if this is related to the recall for the brake cable thing that’s in effect now (without a remedy and awaiting notification from Dodge for repair). I do however feel that it is a safety issue. As it is an ongoing problem.

I have multiple recall notices on my Dodge Dart. I have contacted Mopar who referred me to a local dodge dealership. I have contacted the dealership several times. Each time they communicate they will look for where to get the repair part(s) from and contact me back. They have never called back, not any of the dealerships I have contacted. I don't know who I need to contact, and I fear for safety for myself and anyone around my vehicle due to the nature of the recalls. I'm unsure how to proceed moving forward as there seems to be a runaround going on and my car repairs still have yet to be completed or even scheduled.

I got the email and the postcard in the mail stating there was a U90 recall for my car. That was over a year ago. I called Betten-Baker in Lowell, MI. they put me on a "list" and said they'd call me, haven't heard from them, it's been 10 months. This is a billion dollar company, why is it taking so long to get this problem fixed? I would really like an answer please. Thank you

I had a recall on this vehicle, cable/bushing broke on shifter connecting to transmission, shifter does not work stays in park. Recall was repaired 12/2019. This issue has happened again, vehicle not driving. Called dodge dealer they say they are not fixing again, recall only covered for 2 years.

I have a few problems to be addressed because this car have a real safety issue. One issue been happening was car sometimes doesn’t start. This problem maybe stalling starting may delay in cases of personally emergency’s. Second, I got a recall letter having emissions issues? During this recall letter I receive my inspection sticker was due, then I got a rejected sticker because it did failed emissions as noticed. I tried getting issue resolve at few of the dodge dealers nearby 3 places that’s the closest which were like almost an hour away, but there were a backlog of part not available? Since those two issues I had and having time to try getting these recalls and issue resolved, dealer said not much of an issue and couldn’t find much issues? Told the dealer I had recall and starter issues also with no check engine light on. The dealer did a diagnose on the car but couldn’t find actual problem but wanted to charge me on so much other things like spark plugs change before they can find the actual issue. I paid for the diagnose about 200+ out of pocket. Came to find out they diagnosed but now check engine light is ON now and I looked under hood myself found they didn’t reconnect the engine coil to spark plug, maybe check and forget to reconnect? I reconnected myself and then no check engine lights. I had to check myself why can’t I start and then check fuse box under hood, found relay was damaged, shorted out reason why car had issues starting. This is after I changed the battery which was problem wasn’t the reason couldn’t start. I did my research on this deeply cause now I have a much bigger issue, which I was losing my brake lines. I almost got into an accident but luckily still have E-brakes. I believe it’s the brake line front driver started leaking now. On top of brake issue, no brake lights came on still.I checked for any recalls or any updates and found there were the same or typical issues? I did checked my car Vin # and it said “0 unrepaired on my vehicle”?

I purchased a 2014 Dodge Dart from this business on 08/10/2019. I drove the vehicle for only 1.5 years and then garaged it to give to my daughter later. I put only 20,000 miles on the vehicle. There were several issues during the short time that I had the vehicle. The tire pressure warning went on, and the clutch would stick to the floor. I had the pressure warning 'fixed' at Chrysler World only to have the same malfunction within a week. The clutch issue was due to a recall that I didn't qualify for as I did not purchase the vehicle new from the original dealership. I gave the vehicle to my daughter on 12/18/2023 and the clutch and transmission went out causing her to stop in the middle of the highway. I paid $105 to have the vehicle towed to my local Dodge dealership. The local dealership informed me that the clutch and transmission would need to be replaced for the amount of about $6100. Along with some other recall work on the computer and cat converter which would be free to me. I then emailed and called Chrysler World on 01/02/2024 to see if they would assist with the repair as I felt that this particular vehicle was totally flawed. The salesman advised he would call back on 01/03/24. That would work as I advised my local dealer that I would let them know within a day if they should continue and perform the maintenance. I did not hear from Chrysler World so I did ok the work which is underway. I did receive a call from Chrysler World on 01/08/24. Long after I would have had to let the local dealership know about continuing with the repairs. Chrysler World Indicated that they could not help in any way as it had been too long since the purchase.

Last Thursday, August 3rd, I reversed my car out of my garage. Upon putting it in Drive, the engine light came on as well as the PRND lights illuminated red. As I was driving, I noticed my car felt sluggish to my destination, but I did make it. When I parked, I noticed how jerky the car was when shifting from drive to park. After my appointment, the red PRND lights were gone, with the engine light still on. I had another appointment to get new tires, and the car ran fine this time, except engine light still on. Once my new tires were on, engine light also no longer lit. I took my car to get it diagnosed. It gave out 3 codes; po705-00, p1c86-92, and B1578-2B with the last code indicating problems with my antenna. I checked it, and it appears to be broken in 2 areas. The first code po705-00 indicates failure of the transmission control module; which is strange. There was a related recall in 2019, in which I did take my vehicle into a dealership, and it was supposed to have been taken care of. The code p1c86-92 has to do with the PRNDL Display Circuit Current Out Of Range. I now do not feel safe driving my car, and the dealerships can’t get me in to look at my car, so I’ve been calling all over the area to mechanics that specialize in transmission issues. I can’t in until Sept 6th, and that’s just for another diagnosis BEFORE ordering parts and giving me a quote. When I first had these issues, I began researching the codes. It seems that there are a LOT of people with Dodge Darts having these exact same issues, but no recall has been issued as of yet. Please take care of this. Mechanics and dealerships are way overbooked, some are no longer taking jobs because they’re so backed up, and people like myself with no other vehicle will not have transportation. And I live in a rural community. Getting a recall on these transmission issues would be really helpful, as like I stated, many are having these exact problems. Thank you!

Unknown, my car since ive got it has steadily ran way too hot for my comfort zone it does not redline. But it runs sometimes past 223-225 and i feel like i have to pull over and that is not safe. I have had it checked out NUNEROUS times and have been told nothing is wrong but genuinely that does not add up to me.

When trying to park the car it doesn’t necessarily allow you to turn the car off without moving the shifter around until the car is satisfied and allows you to finally shut down. Also the radio seems to just shut off and on once and awhile.

I had the V34 recall done on 1-2-2020 and now for the last 2 weeks 9-12 through 9-22-2022 my vehicle will not go into park properly. I am scared it will roll into a crash. I transport my grandchildren in this vehicle and I’m scared for their safety. Does this need another recall? I’m scared to drive this vehicle. I only have 45135 original miles on this vehicle! Is this vehicle a lemon?? I have had all recalls performed on this vehicle. Please let me know what is going to happen with this issue. Thank you in advance.

1. Unknown, but podsibly the following: shifter mechanism, transmission linkage, and/or some other mechanism 2. The key is not releasing upon parking, this happens in dangerous areas and in compromising locations that have put my life at risk. I was unable to leave my car and a man with a knife approached me while I was facing this issue. It has happened several time and has happened another time with my husband also in the car and and a mentally ill man approached us as we tried to wait for the key to release. It is inconsistent and can take 0 seconds to 1 hour to release. 3. I showed the dealership near me during my recall repairs, and it happened once with them, but I'm unsure if they documented it. 4. The mechanism(s)/part(s) involved are not known, but the recent recall repair I had done involved a transmission bushing replacement. 5. It has not been inspected by any of the types of people stated, as I'm unsure how to even begin to have this checked out without it being an undue burden. This appears to be a massive issue with these vehicles, as there are many videos and forums online discussing the issue and no one has a consistent fix. Some say it's a plastic piece that must press a button to release the key. Some say it is a transmission linkage issue. No one has a universal answer for the same issue. 6. No signals, signs, or lights have ever appeared for this issue. It began in 2017 and I have had dozens of people look at it with no permanent solution. Today was the longest though, it took a fill hour to release the key.

Dodge has an active recall (R42) that matches the situation that happened to my car. My car switched into neutral while driving multiple times, at speeds 60+ and the dodge dealer diagnosed the issue as the tcm needing replaced. This happened several times, if there were people behind me they would have ran into me as my car jolted and decreased speeds rapidly, then shut off. My exact situation matches the recall except the vin is different, but it is the same make and model. However, dodge will not do anything about it, or warn customers.

SO I BOUGHT THE MOTOR MOUNTS AND REPLACED IT 1 WEEK AFTER I REPLACED IT SAME THING KEEPS HAPPENING I TOOK OFF THE MOUNT AND REPLACED IT W MORE EXPENSIVE MOUNT ANTHER WEEK PASSED AND THAT SAME MOUNT GAVE OUT MAKING IT 2 REPLACED. PLUS THE 3 THE DEALERSHIP HAD DONE TOOK IT TOO VALORS DEALERSHIP AND THEY TOLD ME IT WAS THE REAR MOUNT THAT WAS BAD ALSO SO I REPLACED ALL MOTOR MOUNTS AND NOW SAME 2 MOUNTS IV REPLACED ARE DOING THE SAME THING THE FIRST 2 I CONTACTED THE DEALERSHIP AND TOLD THEM THEIR MUST SOMETHING THAT WEARING THIS MOUNTS OUT SO QUICK.CAUSE I BARLY DRIVE MY CAR AND I HAVE TO GET THIS MOUNT REPLACED FOR THE 6TH TIME.

MY CAR HAS BEEN AT DEWEY SINCE JULY 23RD FOR A SERVICE TRANSMISSION LIGHT. WHEN I DROPPED MY CAR OFF, IT WAS PLUGGED INTO THE COMPUTER AND I WAS TOLD THAT THE CODE THAT POPPED UP WAS FOR A RECALL ON A TRANSMISSION MODULE AND ONCE THE SERVICE TECH LOOKED AT IT, I WOULD RECEIVE A CALL REGARDING ANY COSTS AND TIME OF REPAIR. AS I WAS LEAVING ON VACATION FOR THE WEEK, I WAS NOT TOO CONCERNED. SATURDAY 7/25 - I RECEIVED A CALL THAT A PART WAS ON ORDER AND THE CAR SHOULD BE READY MONDAY OR TUESDAY. AGAIN, AS I WAS ON VACATION, I SAID THAT WOULD BE JUST FINE. I STARTED CALLING AND TEXTING MY SERVICE ADVISOR, TRENT, THURSDAY (7/30) MORNING. I DID NOT HEAR ANYTHING FROM HIM UNTIL SATURDAY (8/1). HE STATED HE FORGOT TO CALL ME BUT THAT THERE WAS A PROBLEM WITH MY CAR. HE SAID THE MODULE WAS REPLACED AND WHEN THEY WENT TO START THE CAR, THERE WAS NO POWER. THE ELECTRICAL SYSTEM IS FRIED. HE SAID THAT THE LEAD TECH WOULD LOOK AT IT MONDAY AND WE WOULD GO FROM THERE. TUESDAY 8/4 - I RECEIVED A CALL FROM TRENT THAT THE LEAD TECH NEEDED TO REACH OUT TO CHRYSLER FOR ASSISTANCE. FRIDAY 8/7 - RECEIVED A CALL THAT CHRYSLER WAS SENDING ANOTHER MODULE AND IT SHOULD BE THERE MONDAY. MONDAY 8/8 - WE HAD THE STORM AND I DIDN'T HEAR ANYTHING WHICH IS UNDERSTANDABLE. THURSDAY 8/6 - RECEIVED A CALL THAT THE MODULE DID NOT WORK. CHRYSLER DECIDED TO SEND A WHOLE NEW TRANSMISSION. IT WILL BE HERE MONDAY OR TUESDAY AND WILL KNOW MORE BY END OF THE WEEK. MONDAY 8/10 - EMAIL SENT TO GM AT DEWEY EXPRESSING CONCERN. SPOKE WITH HIM REGARDING TRADING IN CAR OR ADDITIONAL WARRANTY ON MY CAR. TOLD NO ADDITIONAL WARRANTY WILL BE GIVEN. TRANSFER TO SALES. THURSDAY 8/13 - TOLD MY CAR WOULD BE READY EARLY NEXT WEEK. WEDNESDAY 8/17 - CALLED SERVICE AGAIN. WERE TOLD NOT SURE THAT THE NEW TRANSMISSION EVEN ARRIVED. WILL CALL BACK. DRIVE THROUGH THE DEALERSHIP AND MY CAR IS JUST SITTING OUTSIDE IN THE LOT.

WHEN TURNING THE CAR OFF, THE KEY FOB GETS STUCK IN THE IGNITION. THIS SOMETIMES CAN BE RESOLVED BY TURNING THE STEERING WHEEL, PRESSING ON THE BRAKE AND ADJUSTING THE SHIFTER FORWARD TO CLICK INTO PARK. IT'S AS IF THE SHIFTER IS NOT RECOGNIZING THE CAR IS IN PARK SO IT WILL NOT RELEASE THE KEY FOB. IT COULD USUALLY BY FIXED EASILY, NOW TAKES SOMETIMES 1-3 MINUTES; WHICH INCLUDES RESTARTING THE CAR AND PUTTING IT IN REVERSE OR DRIVE AND BACK INTO PARK. IT HAPPENS FREQUENTLY & THEN WILL STOP FOR A FEW DAYS. I TOOK MY CAR TO THE DEALERSHIP LAST WEEK FOR THIS ISSUE AND THE TRANSMISSION SLIPPING FROM DRIVE TO NEUTRAL WHILE I'M DRIVING AND THEY 'COULDN'T DUPLICATE THE PROBLEM' AS THEY STATED. HOWEVER, JUST THE PAST TWO DAYS IT'S HAPPENING AGAIN. THIS IS SIMILAR TO THE ISSUE FROM THE 2019 RECALL FOR THE BUSHING CABLES. THERE IS AN OBVIOUS ISSUE AS THIS IS NOT NORMAL. I DON'T KNOW WHAT TO DO TO FIX THIS IF THE DEALERSHIP SAYS THEY CAN'T FIND A PROBLEM. IS THERE A NEW RECALL OR OTHER SIMILAR COMPLAINTS? 6 SPEED MANUAL CLUTCH GAVE KICK BACK BEHAVIOR WHERE THE SHIFTER JUMPED OUT OF GEAR WHILE DRIVING. THIS HAPPENED 3 TIMES IN ONE DAY WHILE DRIVING. ONCE TURNING ONTO A BUSY RD AT GREEN LIGHT, AFTER CHANGING GEARS GETTING INTO HIGHWAY THE NEXT, 3RD WAS AS I WAS DRIVING ON SIDE ROAD AFTER TURNING ONTO IT A MINUTE PRIOR. ALREADY UP TO SPEED. THEN WITHIN A FEW DAYS (4) THE CLUTCH WENT OUT COMPLETELY WITH NO USABILITY. NOW IT IS STUCK. LARGE REPAIR COSTS. I HAVE BEEN QUOTED UP TO 4,000$ FOR ALL REPAIRS BECAUSE THESE CARS HAVE A REPEATED HISTORY OF THIS HAPPENING WITH NO AFTERMARKET PARTS THAT WOULD BE MORE SOLID TO REPLACE IT WITH. OEE PARTS HAVE TO BE DEFECTIVE! I FINANCED THIS VEHICLE LATE AUGUST 2019 AND MID DECEMBER THIS OCCURRED QUICKLY AND IS AN ABSOLUTE LOSS AT THE MOMENT.

I NOTICED THE 2014 IS RECALLED AND I PUT MY VIN IN AND IT SAID MY CAR IS IN FACT RECALLED. WHAT CAN I DO? I AM GOING TO PUT TODAY'S DATE BECAUSE IT HAPPENED TODAY, BUT IT HAPPENS PRETTY MUCH EVERY DAY.

WHEN PUTTING THE CAR IN PARK, THE CAR DOESN'T TURN OFF. WE BROUGHT IT TO THE DEALER TO GET A RECALL DONE, BUT THE PROBLEM WAS NEVER FIXED. I THINK DODGE JUST SENT THE NOTICE AND LIED ABOUT HOW TO FIX THE PROBLEM. THE DEALER, SURESKY, WANTED TO CHARGE TO HAVE THE DIAGNOSTICS DONE ON THE CAR, BUT SINCE THE RECALL WAS NEVER FIXED, I DON'T WANT TO PAY FOR THE DIAGNOSTICS. THE SAME PROBLEM STILL EXISTS.

MY SHIFTER CABLE HAS BROKE ON MY CAR. I'M BEING TOLD THERE IS A RECALL ON THIS PART BUT THERE IS NOTHING DODGE CAN DO ABOUT THIS UNTIL NOVEMBER DUE TO NOT HAVING A PART YET. THEREFORE I AM STUCK WITH A UNDRIVABLE 2014 CAR THAT CANT BE FIXED AND NO ONE WILL DO ANYTHING TO HELP ME FIX IT NOR WILL THEY PUT ME IN A RENTAL UNTIL THE PART COMES IN. I'VE ALSO BEEN TOLD THEY CANT DO ANYTHING TO GET THE CAR BACK ON THE ROAD UNTIL THE PART COMES IN. I'M CONFUSED AS TO WHY I HAVE EVEN GOTTEN A RECALL NOTICE ON A PART DODGE CAN NOT FIX OR WHY THEY CANT AT LEAST GET MY CAR FIXED ENOUGH TO BE ON THE ROAD UNTIL THIS PART COMES IN. FOR OVER 2 YEARS MY DODGE DART 2014 BOUGHT BRAND NEW OFF A CAR LOT HAS BEEN HAVING PROBLEMS WITH THE TRANSMISSION. MULTIPLE TIMES WHILE DRIVING IT WOULD SHIFT INTO 1 ST GEAR AND READLINE THE RPM TACH METER AND WOULD NOT SHIFT BACK UP TO ITS PROPER GEAR. I HAVE TO RESET THE BATTERY AFTER DISCONNECTING IT FOR 15MINS AND THEN SOMETIMES IT WILL CONTINUE TO OPERATE PROPERLY. THIS HAS BEEN GOING ON FOR OVER 2 YEARS. MY CAR HAS LESS THAN 40,000 MILES ON. DODGE IS JUST NOW DOING RECALLS FOR THIS PROBLEM WHICH IS RELATED TO THE TRASMISSION BUSHING CABLE. JUST NOW AFTER ITS BEEN HAPPENING FOR OVER 2 YEARS THEY ARE TRYING TO OFFER RECALLS. I STILL HAVE YET TO BE NOTIFIED OFFICIALLY REGARDING THIS MATTER THRU THE MAIL OR A PHONE CALL, EMAIL EVEN. I HAD TO CALL CORPORATE TO ASK. CORPORATE TOLD ME SOMETHING WOULD COME IN THE MAIL NEAR THE END OF AUGUST. ITS THE END OF AUGUST NOW AND STILL NOTHING. I HAVE BEEN HAVING DIFFICULTY SHIFTING GEARS AFTER THE CAR HAS WARMED UP. THIS HAS BEEN GOING ON FOR ABOUT 2 MONTHS NOW.IT HAS GOTTEN SO BAD THIS PAST WEEK THAT IT ALMOST LEFT ME STRANDED 40 MILES FROM HOME WHEN I HAD STOPPED FOR FUEL. VEHICLE MADE WEIRD NOISES AS SOON AS IT WAS PUT IN DRIVE SHORTLY AFTER BEING TURNED ON. MY DODGE DART HAS AN ISSUE WHERE THE BATTERY LIGHT WILL TURN ON AND THEN THE CAR WILL TURN OFF WHILE IT IS IN USE. THIS ISSUE BEGAN AROUND 1 YEAR AGO AND HAS BEEN SPORADICALLY HAPPENING SINCE THEN. MY MECHANIC EXCHANGED MY BATTERY BUT THE ISSUE PERSISTED AND HE HAS BEEN UNABLE TO FIND A CAUSE. UPON DOING SOME RESEARCH THIS IS A COMMON PROBLEM WITH DODGE DARTS. WHEN THE OIL GETS LOW THE CAR WILL SHUT OFF WHEN IN USE WITHOUT AN INDICATOR LIGHT SHOWING THE OIL IS LOW AND DESPITE THE OIL LIFE PERCENTAGE NOT BEING CRITICALLY LOW (IT WAS 17% THE MOST RECENT TIME IT HAPPENED TO ME). ON APRIL 17, 2019, WHEN ARRIVING AT DESTINATION, I ATTEMPTED TO SHIFT GEARS INTO PARK. HOWEVER, GEARS SHIFTED INTO REVERSE PERMANENTLY. I CALLED MY SIBLINGS TO ASSIST WITH GETTING THE CAR OUT OF REVERSE, THE HANDLE WOULD MOVE BUT THE GEARS WOULD NOT CHANGE. THE ONLY WAY WE COULD GET THE CAR TO STOP WAS WITH THE EMERGENCY BREAK. WE TURNED OFF THE IGNITION, BUT ALL LIGHTS STAYED ON AND WE COULD NOT REMOVE THE KEY FROM THE IGNITION. THE ONLY WAY TO GET THE KEY OUT WAS TO UNHOOK THE BATTERY. I CONTACTED THE MANUFACTURER THE FOLLOWING DAY ON APRIL 18TH, AND THEY ADVISED OF A RECALL FOR SHIFT CABLE BUSHING. I ASKED HOW LONG THE PROCESS WOULD TAKE, THEY STATED THEY WOULD MAIL A LETTER TO ADVISE HOW TO SET UP APPOINTMENT, THEY WOULD HAVE TO ORDER PARTS. I CALLED BACK ON APRIL 25TH TO INQUIRE ONCE AGAIN ABOUT HOW LONG THE PROCESS USUALLY TAKES, AND THEY DID NOT ADVISE OF A TIME FRAME. I ADVISED THE REPRESENTATIVE THAT MY CAR CANNOT BE DRIVEN AT ALL, AND ASKED IF I WERE TO GET A RENTAL CAR OR GET MY CAR FIXED MYSELF WOULD I BE REIMBURSED. THE REPRESENTATIVE ADVISED THAT THERE IS NO GUARANTEE. I'VE CONTACTED THE MANUFACTURER ONCE AGAIN ON MAY 8, 2019. THE CAR STARTED RANDOMLY SHUTTING OFF, AT A STOP OR WOULDN'T START ALL TOGETHER. AFTER ABOUT A WEEK OF RANDOM STALLING AND SHUT OFFS, I TOOK IT TO A MECHANIC. HE SAID THAT IT HAS A MANUFACTURERS DEFECT WHERE THE CAR THINKS IT HAS LOW OIL, IT DOESN'T EVEN HAVE TO BE LOW. HAVE BEEN ADDING OIL AND CHECKING CONSISTENTLY FOR ABOUT A MONTH AND RECENTLY IT REFUSED TO TURN ON. GOT A JUMP AND THE CAR STARTED. HAD THE BATTERY AND ALTERNATOR CHECKED AT AUTO PARTS STORE , CAR STARTED UP NO PROBLEM, AND BOTH WERE FINE, BATTERY FULLY CHARGED. NOT MORE THAN 10 MINUTES AFTER TESTING THE CAR WOULD NOT TURN ON. JUMPED IT AND IT STARTED, DROVE HOME. AGAIN, TRIED TO START IT A FEW HOURS LATER AND NOTHING, NEEDED ANOTHER JUMP. USED A SCANNER TO CHECK FOR COMPUTER ISSUES AND NOTHING CAME UP. AFTER DRIVING THE CAR ABOUT 10 MILES, SHUT IT OFF AND AGAIN NEEDED A JUMP. THE CAR SEEMS TO JUST SHUT OFF OR NOT START FOR NO REAL REASON. I RECENTLY PURCHASED MY DODGE DART 2014 IN AUGUST OF 2018. I PURCHASED THE CAR WITH AROUND 26,000 MILES ON IT. GREAT CONDITION, EXCELLENT MILEAGE, NO ACCIDENTS, AND ONLY ONE OWNER. I HAVE ONLY HAD THE CAR FOR 5 MONTHS. I USE IT MAINLY AS A COMMUTER CAR. IT STARTED HAVING ISSUES ALMOST AS SOON AS WE GOT IT. THEY WERE FIRST MINOR THINGS. UNTIL NOVEMBER 2018. MY CARS BATTERY DIED AND REFUSED TO START. I HAD TO REPLACE OUT OF POCKET DUE TO IT NOT BEING COVERED BY WARRANTY. IT WAS HAVING ISSUES STARTING, I THOUGHT THAT IT WAS DUE TO IT BEING COLD (BECAUSE IT WOULD BE FINE ONCE IT HEATED UP), SO AT FIRST THOUGHT NOTHING OF IT. IT WOULD START UP AND I WOULD DRIVE IT LESS THEN A MILE, I WOULD START TO SLOW DOWN AND EVERYTHING WOULD SHUT OFF. THE HEATER AND THE LIGHTS WOULD STILL BE ON BUT IT WOULD LOOSE ACCELERATION AND THE BATTERY LIGHT WOULD COME ON. IT WILL DO THIS MULTIPLE TIMES UNTIL THE CAR IS WARM(EVEN THEN IT WILL CONTINUE TO DO IT AFTERWARD). RPM DROPS TO ZERO, CHECK ENGINE, ELECTRONIC THROTTLE CONTROL, AND BATTERY LIGHT ALL COME ON. THIS IS A SAFETY HAZARD DUE TO IT STOPPING IN TRAFFIC, ON THE HIGHWAY, AND IN INTERSECTIONS. SOMETHING NEEDS TO BE DONE ABOUT THIS ISSUE. I HAVE READ UP ON THIS ISSUE AND SEE THAT I LOT OF PEOPLE HAVE THIS ISSUE. MY CAR IS CURRENTLY AT 24% OIL LIFE, I WILL BE TESTING TO SEE IF THE ISSUE IS RESOLVED(TEMPORARILY) LIKE OTHERS HAVE BEEN. DUE TO FEAR OF IT NOT BEING COVERED UNDER WARRANTY I HAVE NOT TAKEN IT TO THE DEALER. MY VEHICLE IS NOT LISTED UNDER THE RECALL FOR TRANSMISSION CONTROL MODULE FAILURE ALTHOUGH IT DID SHIFT INTO NEUTRAL AND CAUSED MY VEHICLE TO BE INOPERABLE. IF THE TRANSMISSION SHIFTS INTO NEUTRAL, IT CAN CAUSE LOSS OF MOTIVE POWER, INCREASING THE RISK OF A VEHICLE CRASH. MY VEHICLE WAS STATIONARY BEING SHIFTED INTO DRIVE, AFTER THE SHIFTER WAS MOVED THE VEHICLE IMMEDIATELY MOVED INTO THE NEUTRAL POSITON AND WOULD NOT MOVE UP OR DOWN IN ORDER TO PARK IT. THE EMERGENCY PARKING BRAKE WAS PULLED IN ORDER TO KEEP THE VEHICLE STATIONARY AND THE ENTIRE SIDE OF THE CAR WHERE THE ISSUE WAS HAD TO BE REMOVED, I.E THE BATTERY AND THE COMPARTMENT THAT HOLDS THE BATTERY IN ORDER TO GAIN ACCESS TO THE FAULTY PART AND TO BE ABLE TO REMOVE AND INSTALL A NEW PART. MY VEHICLE HOWEVER DID THIS BECAUSE OF A FAULTY SHIFT BUSHING PART THAT HAS WITHERED AWAY AFTER ONLY 4 YEARS. THE CABLE UNEXPECTEDLY RELEASED ITSELF FROM THE BUSHING.

I WAS TAKING RESIDENTIAL ROADS TO DROP MY DAUGHTER OFF AT SCHOOL, SLOWING TO STOP AT A STOP SIGN AND TURN RIGHT. I THOUGHT I SLOWED TOO MUCH AND NEEDED TO SLIGHTLY ACCELERATE TO GET ME TO THE STOP SIGN. WHEN TRYING TO ACCELERATE, I REALIZED THE CAR HAD STALLED, BUT ALL INSIDE LIGHTS AND RADIO WERE STILL ON. THE "BATTERY" LIGHT (CHARGING SYSTEM LIGHT) CAME ON AND STAYED ON UNTIL I TURNED THE CAR OFF. I TRIED TO RESTART THE CAR, BUT ALL IT WOULD DO WAS TRY TO TURN OVER. I KNOW IT'S NOT THE BATTERY, AS IT WAS REPLACED LESS THAN 6 MONTHS AGO. ALL TERMINALS/CONNECTIONS TO THE BATTERY AND ALTERNATOR ARE NOT LOOSE. AFTER TRYING TO RESTART THE CAR TWICE, IT FINALLY STARTED ON THE THIRD TRY WITH HESITATION. FROM THERE, I WAS ABLE TO CONTINUE TO THE SCHOOL (LESS THAN A MILE - IT'S ONLY 1.3 MILES FROM MY HOUSE TO THE SCHOOL). WHEN I GOT BACK HOME, I LET THE CAR SIT FOR ROUGHLY 2-3 MINUTES AND RESTARTED IT AGAIN - NO HESITATION. AFTER LOOKING FOR ANSWERS ONLINE, I'VE FOUND AT LEAST 34 IDENTICAL PROBLEMS WITH NO EXPLANATION AND NO HELP FROM DODGE/CHRYSLER. (EXCEPT FOR ONE OR TWO ENGINE REPLACEMENTS). (CARCOMPLAINTS.COM) I AM SCARED TO DRIVE MY CAR TO WORK, AS I DON'T WANT IT TO STALL ON THE HIGHWAY AND GET IN AN ACCIDENT, ESPECIALLY BECAUSE I HAVE TWO CHILDREN THAT ARE PICKED UP FROM MY WORK. I'VE HAD TWO DIFFERENT AUTO MECHANICS CHECK MY CAR AND WAS TOLD THE SAME AS THE ABOVE. ONE MECHANIC TOLD ME WHEN HE APPLIED A DIAGNOSTIC TOOL TO MY CAR, SEVERAL FACTORY CODES COME UP. I WAS TOLD TO TAKE MY CAR TO A DODGE DEALER SERVICE CENTER, WHICH I PLAN TO DO ON MONDAY 2//12/18. I'M FILING THIS COMPLAINT BECAUSE MY NEIGHBOR'S FRIEND AND MY SISTER'S MALE FRIENDS GIRLFRIEND BOTH OWN DODGE DARTS AND ARE EXPERIENCING THE SAME PROBLEM. OUR CARS WILL SHUT OFF WHILE DRIVING. 2014 DODGE DART RALLEYE SXT STALLS WHILE DRIVING. I HAVE HAD THE BATTERY AND ALTERNATOR TESTED. THE ALTERNATOR TEST ALWAYS YIELDED A PASSING SCORE BUT THE BATTERY SCORE WAS OFF AND ON. THE CAR WAS DYING AT LIGHTS, ONRAMPS, OFFRAMPS, JUST BASICALLY ANYTIME THE OIL SLOSHED AROUND ENOUGH TO LOSE OIL PRESSURE AND SHUT OFF. AFTER 4K MILES, 40% OIL LIFE LEFT ACCORDING TO THE MONITOR, THE OIL DOESN'T EVEN REGISTER ON THE DIPSTICK, HAD TO ADD 2-3 QUARTS. WENT TO DODGE DEALERSHIP, DEALT WITH CHRYSLER CASE #'S AND REPS, WAS PROMISED A FIX AND NEVER GOT IT. OH YEAH, THE DEALERSHIP TRIED TO CHARGE ME HUNDREDS OF DOLLARS. HAD TO ARGUE WITH CHYRSLER CORPORATE FOR WEEKS TO GET THEM TO PAY. IS IT BURNING? LEAKING? IT'S A MANUFACTURING DEFECT FOR SURE. THE EPA WOULD HAVE A FIELD DAY. THEIR EMISSIONS ARE PROBABLY COMPLETELY OUT THE WINDOW IF THEY ARE BURNING THAT MUCH OIL, OR RELEASING IT INTO THE WILD 1 DROP AT A TIME. I'VE NEVER SEEN ANY ACCUMULATING OIL IN THE GARAGE OR MY PARKING SPOT AT WORK.I DON'T THINK THE EPA WOULD LIKE KNOWING BARRELS MORE OF OIL ARE BEING USED THAN ADVERTISED. ALSO, THE CAR HAS STALLED IN THE MIDDLE OF AN INTERSECTION WITH CARS COMING UP BEHIND ME. IT'S ALWAYS BEEN TO/FROM WORK OR SOMETHING LIKE THAT, AND NEVER WITH MY KIDS AND FAMILY IN THE CAR. BUT YOU'D HAVE TO THINK THAT'S A HUGE LAWSUIT/TRAGEDY WAITING TO HAPPEN, AND YET CHRYSLER COMPLETELY SAYS THAT'S WITHIN REASONABLE SPEC. WHERE THE HELL WAS THIS "SPEC" WHEN I PURCHASED THE CAR? THE NEW STICKER DIDN'T SAY "GREAT GAS MILEAGE, AWESOME NAV UNIT, BURNS 1QT OF OIL PER WEEK" ON THE WINDOW. 20 YEAR OLD CARS HAVE OIL LEVEL SENSORS, AND WARNINGS ABOUT THAT. WHY DOES THIS NEW AGE CAR, NOT HAVE AN OIL SENSOR ON IT TO AT LEAST WARN US OF IMPENDING DOOM WHEN THE CAR STALLS MAKING A SIMPLE TURN? STARTED HAVING ISSUES WHEN I STARTED LEASING IT IN 2014.IT HAS BEEN TAKEN INTO THE DEALERSHIP AT LEAST 7 TIMES NOW, DUE TO STALLING OUT. EACH TIME I HAVE BEEN GIVEN THE RUN AROUND, PROBLEM CAN'T BE DUPLICATED, SO LETS GUESS. PCM REPLACED A COUPLE TIMES AS WELL AS THE FLASH UPDATES PERFORMED, PCV VALVE REPLACED MULTIPLE TIMES AND IT STILL STALLS OUT. HAVE EVEN HAD TO PAY FOR A BATTERY BECAUSE THEY STATED THAT WAS THE ISSUE BEFORE AND IT WASN'T SO I HAD TO PAY FOR A BATTERY WHEN I COULD HAVE USED THAT MONEY FOR SOMETHING ELSE AS I AM IN A TIGHT BUDGET AS IT IS. AS OF TODAY, THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO THE DEALERSHIP, AGAIN, (I HAVE BEEN TO TWO DIFFERENT DEALERSHIPS AS WELL) AS OF TODAY, MY PCV AND MAP SENSOR REPLACED, AGAIN. I WAS TOLD FROM AN INDIVIDUAL FROM CORPORATE THAT HE TOLD THE DEALERSHIP HE WANTED THEM TO KEEP THE VEHICLE TO TRY TO REPLICATE THE ISSUE. WHEN IT STALLS OUT ALL THE DASHBOARD LIGHTS FLASH ON AND THE ENGINE DIED. TWO OF THE TIMES HAPPENED AFTER MAKING A 90 DEGREE TURN, AND ONE TIME IT HAPPENED AFTER JUST GOING AROUND A CURVE IN THE ROAD. IT ALSO SEEMS TO OCCUR AS I AM ACCELERATING OR DECELERATING. WHEN TRYING TO TURN IT BACK ON, THE LIGHTS AND ELECTRONICS WILL TURN BACK ON BUT THE ENGINE WILL NOT TURN. I HAVE NOTICED SEVERAL COMPLAINTS FOR THE SAME ISSUE AND I HAVE LOOKED UP MY VIN ON THE NHTSA WEBSITE BUT IT IS NOT UNDER ANY RECALLS. I HAVE ALREADY SPENT $265 + AAA TOWING FEES ON THIS ISSUE. I WAS DRIVING ON THE FREEWAY AND AS I WAS GOING TO GET OFF AN EXIT TO WORK I WENT TO DOWNSHIFT FROM 5TH GEAR TO 4TH AND MY CLUTCH PEDAL STUCK TO THE FLOOR. I WAS ABLE TO JUST BARELY GET TO 4TH GEAR BUT WHEN I WENT TO STOP ON THE EXIT AT THE RED LIGHT THE CLUTCH WAS STILL STUCK TO THE FLOOR AND WOULD NOT RELEASE. THE CAR WOULDNT MOVE AFTER THAT. I GOT IT PARKED IN A GAS STATION PARKING LOT AND CHECKED ALL FLUIDS ECT. WITH NO SIGN OF ANYTHING WRONG. EVENTUALLY I WAS ABLE TO GET THE CLUTCH TO RELEASE AND PARKED MY CAR AT WORK. I THEN HAD MY DAD AND BROTHER COME PICK THE CAR UP SINCE I COMMUTE TO WORK AND CANNOT AFFORD TO HAVE THIS HAPPEN IN RUSH HOUR TRAFFIC ON MY WAY HOME. THE CAR RAN FINE FOR THE MAJORITY OF MY DRIVE. AS A RESULT THE PROTECTIVE COVER IS DESTROYED AND HANGS BENEATH THE CAR AND CAUSES A SAFETY HAZARD TO THE DRIVER AND TO OTHER VEHICLES ON THE ROAD. I HAD A WRECKER TAKE THE CAR TO THE DEALERSHIP. DIAGNOSTIC TEST SHOWED LOST COMMUNICATION WITH THE BODY CONTROL MODULE. LOOKED AT OIL AND IT WAS LOW. I WAS TOLD BY AUTO TECHNICAN THAT THE AUTO SHUTS IT'S SELF OFF WHEN IT IS LOW ON OIL. THIS IS A VERY ALARMING SITUATION IF IT WOULD SHUT OFF WHILE DRIVING ON THE FREEWAY IN TRAFFIC I CALLED CHRYSLER AND REPORTED THIS. THE CALL CENTER STATED THAT SHE HAD 2 PEOPLE CALL THE DAY BEFORE AND 3 ON THE DAY I CALLED WITH THE EXACT PROBLEM. SHE SAID ALL THE CARS HAD OVER 20,000 MILES ON THEM.

I'M EXPERIENCING LOST OF ENGINE TORQUE WHEN SHIFTING ON FIRST GEAR DUE TO CLUTCH OPERATION COMPONENTS PARTS NOT WORKING PROPERLY. IN ONE OCCASION I WAS MAKING A RIGHT TURN INTO THE INTERSECTION, WHEN I ENGAGED FIRST GEAR AND TRY TO SHIFT TO SECOND GEAR THE CLUTCH WOULDN'T DISENGAGE OR COME BACK TO AT-REST POSITION. IT FELT LIKE AIR GOT INTO THE HYDRAULIC SYSTEM MAKING A LOOSE CLUTCH LINE CONNECTION DURING THE RELEASE OF THE CLUTCH, AFTER I HIT THE PEDAL WITH MY FOOT A FEW TIMES I WAS ABLE TO MAKE THE CLUTCH PEDAL TO COME BACK TO AT-REST POSITION. THIS WAS A VERY SCARY EXPERIENCE SINCE MY KIDS WERE RIDING WITH ME.

THE VEHICLE HAS A MANUAL TRANSMISSION. MY VEHICLE REVS WHEN ATTEMPTING TO SHIFT IT. THE CLUTCH WILL BE COMPLETELY UP AND THE VEHICLE WILL STILL REV AS IF IT IS ENGAGED. AT THIS POINT THERE IS NOTHING THAT CAN BE DONE UNTIL IT STOPS REVVING. IT ALSO GRINDS AND CLATTERS WHEN SHIFTING FROM 1ST TO 2ND AND 2ND TO 3RD GEAR. VERY ROUGH SHIFTING AND SOMETIMES EXPERIENCE A BURNING SMELL AFTER ITS DRIVEN.

JULY 14TH, 2014 I BOUGHT A DODGE DART VIN [XXX]. THE CAR WAS PROPERLY MAINTAINED. DID NOT HAVE PROBLEMS WITH THE CAR. WHILE DRIVING ON MAY 8TH, 2015. ON I-75 GOING ABOUT 70 MILES PER HOUR WITH THICK FLOW OF TRAFFIC. I HEARD AND FELT SOMETHING CRACK ON THE FRONT DRIVER SIDE OF MY CAR, UNDER MY FEET. THE CAR IMMEDIATELY PULLED LEFT AND HIT A CONCRETE BARRIER WALL. THE CAR THEN BOUNCED OFF A TOYOTA PRIUS. I LANDED IN THE DITCH ON THE RIGHT SIDE OF THE HIGHWAY MILE MARKER 299 IN PASCO COUNTY FLORIDA. MY FIRST COMPLAINT IS WHATEVER BROKE TO CAUSE THE ACCIDENT. WHICH I CANNOT BE SPECIFIC ABOUT BECAUSE I DON'T KNOW IF IT WAS THE AXEL OR WHAT YET. TAKING NOTE THAT NO ONE WAS HURT. MY SECOND COMPLAINT IS THAT NOT ONE OF MY 6 "ADVANCED"SAFETY AIRBAGS DEPLOYED IN MY CAB AFTER HITTING TWO OBJECTS AT THAT SPEED. AS TO WHY I DO NOT KNOW WHAT BROKE YET. I CALLED FOR DODGES ROADSIDE SERVICE, I WAS PICKED UP AND RODE WITH MY CAR TO THE NEAREST DODGE DEALERSHIP. JIM BROWNE CITRUS CHRYSLER JEEP DODGE RAM, IN DADE CITY. THIS DEALERSHIP DID NOT HAVE A BODY SHOP. I WAS TOLD BY THE MANAGER AT THE DEALERSHIP MY CAR WOULD BE TOWED TO THE BODY SHOP THEY USED. AS MY CAR WAS UNDER WARRANTY AND THE ACCIDENT REPORT REFLECTS MECHANICAL ERROR. AFTER THIS DAY I WOULD NOT SEE OR KNOW WHERE MY VEHICLE WAS FOR 46 DAYS WHEN THE TOWING COMPANY CALLED ME ABOUT STORAGE FEES FOR MY CAR THAT WE COULDN'T LOCATE.
