The contact owns a 2005 Dodge Durango. The contact stated upon starting the vehicle, the instrument cluster was not operating properly. The speedometer displayed 50 MPH while the vehicle was parked and the odometer turned blank, and the vehicle was stuck in FWD. The contact stated that the interior lights failed to turn off upon depressing the light switch. Additionally, the contact stated while driving at an undisclosed speed, there was an abnormally strong electrical wiring burning odor inside the vehicle. The contact veered to the side of the road. The contact stated that the burning odor was coming through the A/C vents on both sides of the instrument panel. The vehicle was taken to a nearby independent mechanic, where it was diagnosed that the failure was related to NHTSA Campaign Number: 07V092000 (Electrical system). The dealer was notified of the failure and informed the contact that the recall repair was previously completed on the vehicle. The vehicle was not repaired. The manufacturer was not notified of the failure. The failure mileage was approximately 252,000.

I have had my durango for about 2 years, one day I went to start it and it clicked as if battery had died. When I jumped it, it started right up. I noticed that my dash had a tire sensor light and a light saying Overhead lamp on. I turned my overhead switch and all my lights in the car turned on and then off when i turned switch.( normal) so I knew something was up. After doing some research I read about the recall. I Made an appointment on the 15th of June to get a recall for my instrument panel fixed. I dropped my car off at 7 am my appointment was at 8am. I called around 11:30 to get an ETA since I was on a time limit for work and live an hour away. The dealership called to tell me that he needed to take out cluster and test it and if it was cluster he would have to order it and it could be a few days. If it was fine it was a circuit Issue and he would need to fix it. Thank god my mother was in the same area visiting and was able to give me a ride home. He then called that evening and asked if I owned another Key/FOB. I told them I didn't and my fob has never worked since i purchased the vehicle. He stated that he got the recall all finished and fixed but now all the lights on my dash were flashing, my headlights the horn, flashers and something" went wonky" there. He then tried to tell me they needed to order a new fob to program it to my car and it was going to cost me almost $400. I told them I was not going to pay that amount and that it seems like they messed something up when they put it together. I picked up my car Friday the 17th and my tire pressure light was still on. After getting home and checking tires they were all fine. The next day I went to start my car and the Headlight lamp light came back onto my dash. I already had to take 2 days off work and now have to miss more to have this recall done right. I looked up my vin today the 20th and it says my recall is incomplete! To top it off they never gave me any paperwork or have me sign anything.

Was driving 2005 dodge Durango when it stalled and stopped running at a bottom of a hill. Would not start . Replaced idiole control sensor, starter, battery, crank shaft sensor and relays. Started ran for 30 minutes again just died in the middle of the road. Will not start. If someone would of come over the hills could of hit us with sever injury or possibly death. Still wont run crank over wont run.

The vehicle was taken to an independent mechanic who tested the battery and the alternator however, neither was the cause of the failure. The manufacturer was called however, a representative was not able to be reached. The vehicle was not repaired. After searching online, the contact related the failure to NHTSA Campaign Number: 07V092000 (Electrical System). The failure mileage was 200,052.

I have had problems with the 4 wheel/ all wheel drive engaging on it's own. The problem exists even when the vehicle is turned off when using the key fob to lock the vehicle. I have on a two occasions have the transmission shift into four wheel low while doing over 55 mph which made the vehicle slow down skidding drastically and made the engine hit high RPMs. After checking online for some Information I've found that it's a problem with many owners of 2004, 2005 and 2006 Durango and Dakota owners and found that the body control module, 4 wheel module and shift actuator was part of the faults. They had disconnected the wire harness to the shift actuator to remedy the chance of having an accident. I have done the same and looked into replacing faulty parts but also found that the fix was also temporary many owners reported the same problem just days after repairs. Please look Into this, it's dangerous and it's well known that this problem exists with many owners why has Mopar not addressed it. It will kill someone.

Engine is intermittent stalling when driving or taking a sharp corner at Low speed. The vehicle engine has just stalled when driving at different speeds. No check engine lite on at all the engine just stalls and I can restart the engine almost all the time right away the repair facility has no idea what is going on. Need to get this figured out before an accident happens

THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO PINCKNEY CHRYSLER DODGE JEEP RAM (1295 E MAIN ST, PINCKNEY, MI 48169, (734) 878-3154) WHERE IT WAS DIAGNOSED WITH NEEDING THE INSTRUMENT CLUSTER TO BE REPLACED. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS INFORMED OF FAILURE AND ADVISED THE CONTACT TO HAVE THE VEHICLE TAKEN TO AN AUTHORIZED DEALER TO BE REPAIRED. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS APPROXIMATELY 108,000.

THE CONTACT HAD THE VEHICLE TOWED TO AN INDEPENDENT MECHANIC WHO WAS ABLE TO RECHARGE THE BATTERY. MONTHS LATER, THE CONTACT STATED THAT THE SAME FAILURE RECURRED. THE CONTACT HAD THE VEHICLE JUMP STARTED AND TAKEN BACK TO HIS INDEPENDENT MECHANIC WHO CHARGED THE BATTERY AGAIN. DUE TO THE INEFFECTIVENESS OF THE CHARGE, THE MECHANIC REPLACED THE BATTERY. UPON RESEARCH, THE CONTACT DISCOVERED THAT THE CHANGE OVER MOTOR LINKED TO THE FOUR-WHEEL DRIVE FEATURE COULD ENGAGE INDEPENDENTLY WHILE THE VEHICLE WAS TURNED OFF. THE CONTACT THEN LINKED HIS FAILURE OF HIS VEHICLE DUE TO THE FACT THAT HE COULD HEAR AN ABNORMAL NOISE COMING FROM THE VEHICLE ONCE THE VEHICLE WAS TURNED OFF. THE CONTACT ALSO STATED THAT THE SVC 4WD SERVICE LIGHT WOULD ILLUMINATE INTERMITTENTLY UPON START OF THE VEHICLE. GILL CHRYSLER DODGE JEEP RAM (1100 S MADERA AVE, MADERA, CA 93637) WAS NOTIFIED OF THE FAILURE AND INFORMED HIM THAT THERE WERE NO RECALLS ON THE VEHICLE. WHILE DRIVING, SVC AWD LIGHT COMES ON, THEN GOES OUT. NO PROBLEM THERE BUT THAT IS ONLY THE BEGINNING. IN A SLOW HARD TURN ON REVERSE, THE WHEELS SEEM TO BIND UP WITH AN UNCONTROLLED LOCK INTO FOUR WHEEL DRIVE. WITH MY RESEARCH INTO THIS PROBLEM, I DISCOVERED MANY OTHER PEOPLE WITH THE EXACT SAME PROBLEM. 72 PAGES OF THE SAME COMPLAINT !! SOME EVEN TELL THE OF CAR SHIFTING INTO 4 WHEEL DRIVE ON THE HIGHWAY SLOWING THE CAR INTO DANGEROUSLY SLOW SPEED . I TRACED COMPLAINTS BACK TO 2004 , ALL DEAL WITH THE TRANSFER CASE SHIFT MOTOR OR THE WIRING CONTROLLING IT. ALSO RELATED TO THE A/C CONNECTION, OR THE AWD, 4 HIGH AND 4 LOW LOCK SWITCH. I EXPERIENCED THE SHIFT INTO FOUR WHEEL DRIVE IN SLOW SPEED TURNING AND BACKING BUT TO HAVE IT SHIFT INTO 4 LO LOCK DURING DRIVING HAS ME AFRAID TO DRIVE IT AT ALL. OVER 350 COMPLAINTS OF THE SAME PROBLEM, WITH ONLY ONE WEB SITE SOUNDS LIKE A MAJOR DESIGN PROBLEM THAT DODGE HAS NOT ADDRESSED AT ALL. THE FAILURES WERE EXPERIENCED SEVERAL TIMES. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO AN INDEPENDENT MECHANIC WHO BELIEVED THAT THE FOUR WHEEL DRIVE ENGAGED INDEPENDENTLY DUE TO AN ELECTRICAL SWITCH FAILURE. THE CONTACT INSPECTED THE VEHICLE HIMSELF AND BELIEVED THAT THE FOUR WHEEL DRIVE ENGAGED INDEPENDENTLY DUE TO A FAILURE IN THE WIRING HARNESS BEHIND THE DASHBOARD. THE CONTACT ALSO STATED THAT THE HEATER BLOWER MOTOR FAILED. THE HEATER BLOWER MOTOR REMAINED ON THE HIGH SETTING. THE CONTACT REPLACED THE HEATER PANEL HIMSELF, BUT IT DID NOT CORRECT THE FAILURE. THE VIN WAS NOT AVAILABLE. THE APPROXIMATE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 167,000.

THEN I RECEIVED ANOTHER NOTICE AND WAS INFORMED BY THE DEALERSHIP THEY WOULD CONTACT ME WHEN THEY HAD THE PARTS. I WAS NEVER CONTACTED AND MOVED BUT STILL HAVE THE SAME NUMBER. NOW I RECEIVE ALL THIS INFORMATION ABOUT THE DANGER AND THIS VEHICLE IS MY WIFE AND CHILDREN'S PRIMARY SOURCE OF TRANSPORTATION. I FEAR FOR THEIR LIVES WHILE DRIVING THIS VEHICLE, ESPECIALLY AFTER WATCHING THE VIDEO. ALSO DURING THE SAME TIME FRAME OF THIS RECALL, MY ELECTRONICS ON THE VEHICLE BEGAN ACTING ERRATICALLY. THIS HAPPENS WHEN THE VEHICLE IS TURNED OFF AND THE KEY IS NOT IN THE IGNITION. I HAVE READ THOUSANDS OF COMPLAINTS ABOUT THIS SAME PROBLEM. I SEE THAT SOME PEOPLE HAVE SPENT THOUSANDS OF DOLLARS TO FIX THIS PROBLEM AND IT DOES NOT. SOME PEOPLE HAVE STATED WHILE DRIVING ON A HIGHWAY OR ROAD IT HAS KICKED IN AND CAUSED TRAFFIC ACCIDENTS, SOME SERIOUS AND SOME MINORS. WHEN WILL THIS PROBLEM BE ADDRESSES? WHILE TRAVELING ON I-90 EASTBOUND AT 70 MPH MY 05 DODGE DURANGO SUDDENLY LOST MOMENTUM AND THE ENGINE RPM WENT UP. I MANAGED TO GET TO THE SHOULDER SAFELY. THE ENGINE WAS STILL RUNNING AND THE VEHICLE STILL IN GEAR BUT THE VEHICLE FAILED TO MOVE. THE VEHICLE WAS TOWED TO A REPAIR FACILITY JUST OFF THE NEXT CLOSEST EXIT. EXAMINATION SHOWED THE TRANSMISSION FLUID WAS OKAY, THE REPAIR FACILITY FOUND THE TORQUE CONVERTER HAD BEEN STRIPPED OUT. THIS VEHICLE HAD BEEN DISPLAYING PROBLEMS WITH THE TRANSFER CASE SHIFTING WITHOUT TOUCHING THE SELECTOR SWITCH. ALSO YOU COULD HEAR THE TRANSFER CASE MOTOR ACTIVATING WHILE UNLOCKING THE DOORS ??? THE FRONT HEAT/AC CONTROLS STOP WORKING. IT DOESN'T MATTER RATHER THE HEAT IS ON OR THE AC IS ON. IT WILL RANDOMLY STOP BLOWING AIR. THE VEHICLES DASH BOARD LIGHTS WILL ALL LIGHT UP, AT ONE POINT I WOULD HAVE THE GAS FLOORED AND IT WOULD FEEL LIKE I'M TOWING A HOUSE IT STARTED GETTING WORSE TO THE POINT THE CAR WOULD STALL WHILE DRIVING SO I WOULD PUT IT IN NEUTRAL AND IT WOULD START BACK UP WHEN THE LIGHTS AREN'T ON IT RUNS FINE BUT ONCE THE LIGHT COME ON THE DASH BOARD IT ACTS UP AND ALL THE LIGHTS COME ON TEMPERATURE, CHECK ENGINE, AIR BAG, 4X4, OIL LIGHT ,BATTERY LIGHT ,ETC DODGE FLASHED MY COMPUTER IT WORKED FOR A WEEK AND THEN STARTED AGAIN I HAVE HAD MANY MECHANICS LOOK AT IT ALONG WITH DODGE AND NO ONE CAN FIGURE OUT THE PROBLEM , RECENTLY STARTING 5/27/15 THE PROBLEMS HAVE PROCEEDED TO GET EXTREMELY DANGEROUS NOW ONCE ALL THE LIGHTS LIGHT UP IT STALLS AND MAY NOT RESTART SEVERAL TIMES I'VE BEEN STUCK ON THE HIGHWAY WAITING AN HOUR OR TWO TO RESTART IT AND NOW IT ONLY GETS ME A FEW FEET THEN STALLS PLUS ITS NOW DOING IT WITH NO LIGHTS ON THE DASH ,RPMS ,MPH ETC , AND WHEN IT DRIVES SOMETIMES THERE IS NOTHING ON DASH BUT WHEN I HIT BRAKES ALL THE GAUGES WILL SHOOT UP TEMPERATURE AND FUEL EVEN IF ITS NOT A FULL RANK IT WILL SAY IT THEN WHEN I STEP ON GAS THE DASH BOARD GOES OUT, I HAVE CONTACTED CORPORATE DODGE TO RESOLVE THIS ISSUE TELLING THEM I'VE SEEN SEVERAL NUMEROUS COMPLAINTS THE SAME AS MINE BUT YET NO RECALL SO THEY NOW WANT ME ONCE AGAIN TO TAKE IT TO DODGE, JUNE 9TH 2015 , BUT TODAY JUNE 3RD 2015 , I STALLED IN THE STREET ON RT 9 AND IT WOULD NOT START AT ALL TO THE POINT I HAD TO CALL A TOW TRUCK THEN ONCE THE TOW TRUCK DROPPED IT AT MY HOUSE IT STARTED BUT ALL THE LIGHTS WERE LIT UP ON DASH ,IF I WAS ABLE TO POST PICTURES AND VIDEOS ON HERE I WOULD BECAUSE I VIDEO THE DASH EVERY TIME IT DOES IT AND I PLAN TO SHOW DODGE THE VIDEOS ON THE 9TH , DODGE NEEDS TO RESOLVE THIS ISSUE. *TR

WHEN I'M DRIVING IN TRAFFIC (APPROX 30-45 MPH) OR STOPPED AT A LIGHT, MY VEHICLE RANDOMLY SHUTS OFF. THERE'S NO INDICATION THIS WILL HAPPEN. NO LIGHTS FLASH OR ANYTHING. THE TRUCK SIMPLY STOPS. I TAKE IT TO MECHANICS AND THEY SAY THEY CAN'T IDENTIFY THE PROBLEM--BUT THEY RECOGNIZE THERE'S A PROBLEM. I'M FEARFUL FOR THE SAFETY OF MY FAMILY IN THE VEHICLE AND/OR ANYONE WE ENCOUNTER WHEN THIS HAPPENS. IT'S NEARLY IMPOSSIBLE TO STEER THE VEHICLE OUT OF TRAFFIC, AND THE STEERING LOCKS UP AS WELL. THE TIRE PRESSURE WARNING LIGHT ON MY 2005 DODGE DURANGO LIMITED HEMI HAS BEEN ON FOR APPROXIMATELY 3-4 YEARS. OTHER THAN THIS ISSUE, THE VEHICLE IS IN EXCELLENT CONDITION (50,500 MILES). AFTER DEALING WITH SEVERAL DEALERSHIPS, I FILED A COMPLAINT WITH CHRYSLER AND WAS GIVEN A CASE NUMBER. A CHRYSLER CASE MANAGER NAMED "PAUL" (1-800-763-8422 EXT. 66371) NOTIFIED ME VIA VOICE-MAIL TODAY THAT THEY WILL NOT PAY TO RESOLVE/INVESTIGATE THE MATTER. THE CASE MANAGER IS CLEARLY AVOIDING SPEAKING TO ME BY CONTACTING ME AT MY HOME NUMBER DURING THE DAY, EVEN AFTER I LEFT HIM A MESSAGE WITH MY PRIMARY CONTACT NUMBER. THE ISSUE: THIS VEHICLE WAS SUBJECT TO AN INSTRUMENT CLUSTER/WIRING RECALL IN 2007. I OBTAINED A COPY OF THE CLAIM FORM. THE CLUSTER WAS NOT REPLACED, HOWEVER, THE WIRING WAS MODIFIED. APPARENTLY, THIS RECALL WAS DONE DUE TO OVERHEATING ISSUES. SO FAR, I HAVEN'T EXPERIENCED THIS ISSUE. BUT THE TIRE PRESSURE WARNING LIGHT SHOULD NOT BE ON - ESPECIALLY GIVEN THE FACT THAT MY VEHICLE IS NOT EQUIPPED WITH A TIRE PRESSURE MONITORING SYSTEM (TPMS). CLEARLY, THE WRONG CLUSTER IS INSTALLED IN THE VEHICLE AND/OR THE WIRING MODIFICATION WAS DONE INCORRECTLY AS PART OF THE RECALL. I BELIEVE, THESE ISSUES CAME TO THE FOREFRONT WHEN THE BATTERY WAS LOW AND/OR REPLACED. THE INTERNET/FORUMS ARE LITTERED WITH ISSUES REGARDING THE INSTRUMENT CLUSTER AND ELECTRICAL ISSUES WITH THE DURANGOS MANUFACTURED DURING 2005-2007. THE "LABOR OPERATION NUMBER" IS 08-G0-71-82 AS PART OF SAFETY RECALL G07. I AM IN THE PROCESS OF OBTAINING A QUOTE FROM THE DEALERSHIP TO INVESTIGATE AND FIX THE MATTER. I WANTED TO SHARE WITH YOU MY RECENT EXPERIENCE AT MY LOCAL DODGE DEALER, SPARTANBURG CHRYSLER DODGE JEEP FIRST, I WILL NEVER GO TO SPARTANBURG DODGE AGAIN, FOR ANYTHING. THEY TRIED TO CHARGE ME TO CORRECT A NHTSA RECALL (INSTRUMENT CLUSTER FIRE HAZARD), WHICH THEY DID COMPLETE. MY CLUSTER STILL TELLS ME THERE ARE PROBLEMS WITH 2 SYSTEMS MY VEHICLE DOES NOT HAVE INSTALLED. REGARDING THE 2ND RECALL I HAD THEM ADDRESS (FUEL TANK REPLACEMENT). I BROUGHT ME VEHICLE IN WITH NEARLY A HALF TANK OF GAS, WHEN I PICKED IT UP IT HAD APPROXIMATELY 1/2 GAL. MY ON BOARD COMPUTER TOLD ME I HAD 0 MILES TO EMPTY. I WAS TOLD THEY HAD NO WAY TO TRANSFER THE FUEL FROM THE OLD TANK TO THE NEW, WHICH IS BS. THEY HAVE TO GET THE FUEL OUT OF THE TANK AS IT IS AGAINST THE LAW TO DISPOSE OF THE FUEL, I SUSPECT SOMEONE GOT A FREE FILL UP. IN ADDITION, I HAD THE DEALER HAD MY VEHICLE FOR 4 DAYS AND STILL HAVE NOT RESOLVED THE RECALL. WHEN I CAME TO PICK MY VEHICLE UP THE SECOND TIME, THEY TRIED TO CHARGE ME OVER $100 DOLLARS FOR A "DIAGNOSTIC FEE" FOR RECHECKING THE RECALL ON THE CLUSTER, BUT I LATER FOUND OUT THEY DIDN'T DO ANYTHING AT ALL TO THE CLUSTER THE SECOND TIME. WHEN I TOLD THEM I WOULD NOT PAY FOR THE RECALL TO BE FIXED THEY THREATENED TO KEEP MY VEHICLE, UPON CALLING THE SHERIFF'S OFFICE TO RETRIEVE MY PROPERTY THEY CHANGED THEIR MIND. BEGINNING FRIDAY, JANUARY 31, 2014 IN THE EVENING THE DOME LIGHTS OF MY DURANGO WOULD NOT TURN OFF AFTER THE NORMAL DELAY. WE TRIED SEVERAL THINGS TO SHUT THEM OFF BUT THEY STAYED ON. THE CAR STARTED FINE SATURDAY, FEBRUARY 1, 2014 IN THE MORNING AND I TOOK IT TO RUN ERRANDS. I NOTICED AGAIN THOUGH THE LIGHTS STAYED ON. THAT EVENING WE PARKED THE CAR AS NORMAL IN THE GARAGE. WHILE OPERATING THE VEHICLE THE SERVICE 4WD LIGHT CAME ON. AT SOME POINT AFTER THAT THE TRANSFER CASE SHIFTED INTO 4HI LOCK.I SCANNED THE OBDII AND HAD NO CODES PRESENT. ALSO SCANNED THE 4WD SELECTOR SWITCH AND IT SHOWED THE SWITCH WAS OPERATIONAL, BUT THE TRANSFER CASE SHIFT MOTOR WAS NOT SHIFTING. DROPPED THE VEHICLE OFF AT AN INDEPENDENT TRANSMISSION SHOP ONE WEEK LATER AND IT SAT FOR A FEW HOURS AND WHEN THEY WENT TO ROAD TEST IT NO WARNING LIGHTS AND IT WAS NOW IN AWD. AGAIN THE REPAIR SHOP DID AN OBD SCAN AND CAME UP WITH NO CODES.IF THESE VEHICLES WERE TO SHIFT INTO FOUR WHEEL DRIVE (LOW OR HIGH RANGE ) AT HIGHWAY SPEEDS OF 65 MPH I FEEL MAJOR DRIVELINE DAMAGE AND OR FAILURE WILL RESULT,WHICH COULD LEAD TO SERIOUS INJURY OR DEATH. *TR

DURING ACCELERATION IN THE FORWARD DIRECTION THE VEHICLE WILL LOSE ALL ELECTRICAL FUNCTION AND SHUT DOWN THE ENGINE CAUSING THE MOTORIST TO BE STRANDED IN THE MIDDLE OF AN INTERSECTION OR OTHER DANGEROUS SECTION OF ROADWAY. LOSS OF ELECTRICAL FUNCTION CAN BE ATTRIBUTED TO THE CLOSE PROXIMITY OF THE POSITIVE BATTERY CABLE TO THE EGR PIPE ON THE RIGHT SIDE OF THE ENGINE. DURING ACCELERATION THE ENGINE WILL TORQUE OVER CAUSING THE EGR PIPE TO MAKE CONTACT WITH THE BATTERY CABLE THUS CAUSING THE PLASTIC SHEATHING TO BECOME CHAFED. OVER TIME THIS CHAFING WILL WEAR THROUGH THE PLASTIC SHEATHING AND EXPOSE THE BARE COPPER WIRE ALLOWING IT TO COME IN CONTACT WITH THE METAL EGR PIPE. THE CONTACT OF THE COPPER WIRE FROM THE POSITIVE BATTERY CABLE TO THE METAL EGR PIPE CREATES A DIRECT SHORT WHICH IN TURN SHUTS DOWN THE ELECTRICAL SYSTEM AND ANY ENGINE CONTROL FUNCTIONS. IN SOME INSTANCES THIS SHORT CAN CAUSE THE BATTERY CABLE TO HEAT UP ENOUGH TO CATCH THE PLASTIC INSULATION ON FIRE AND POSSIBLY LEAD TO BATTERY EXPLOSION.

MY 2005 DODGE DURANGO V8 HEMI, SEVERAL MONTHS BACK, STARTED LOSING ALL POWER WHILE DRIVING INCLUDING POWER STEERING AND POWER BRAKES. THIS HAS BEEN INCREASING IN FREQUENCY OVER THE PAST COUPLE OF MONTHS WITH IT OCCURING TWICE YESTERDAY, MARCH 29,2010. THIS IS BECOMING A SERIOUS SAFETY HAZARD AND WILL UNDOUBTEDLY CAUSE AN ACCIDENT. IT HAS OCCURED WHILE TURNING, SLOWING DOWN FOR TRAFFIC, AND WHILE ACCELERATING THROUGH AN INTERESCTION. I HAVE EXPERIENCED SEVERAL PROBLEMS W/ IT: BROKEN REMOTE KEYS-THE REMOTE LOCKING DEVICES ON BOTH KEYS ARE NOW DYSFUNCTIONAL DUE TO THE SOLDER THAT HOLDS THE BATTERY IN PLACE BREAKING. I CANNOT LOCK/UNLOCK VEHICLE FROM OUTSIDE AND WHEN IT IS LOCKED FROM INSIDE PRIOR TO EXITING, UPON RE-ENTRY, THE ALARM SOUNDS UNTIL KEY IS PUT INTO IGNITION AND VEHICLE IS STARTED. THE AMOUNT OF MONEY TO REPLACE THESE KEYS IS OUTRAGEOUS!!!! WINDOWS SHAKING WHILE ROLLED DOWN-ANYTIME ANY OF THE WINDOWS ARE ROLLED DOWN THEY SHAKE VIOLENTLY W/ IN THEIR CASING. THERE IS QUITE ALOT OF DUST BUILDING UP INSIDE THE SEATBELT MECHANISM. LIFTGATE SCREWS FALLING OUT-THIS HAS HAPPENED A DOZEN TIMES REGARDLESS OF HOW MANY TIMES THEY ARE TIGHTENED. IT IS THE SCREWS THAT HOLD THE PLASTIC ON THE INSIDE OF THE LIFTGATE-WHERE THE CLOSING HANDLES ARE LOCATED. BROKEN PIN ON ACCELERATOR PEDAL-DEALER CALLING THIS A "PUSH NUT PIN" AND IT IS WHAT ATTACHES THE ACCELERATOR TO THE ARM. DEALERSHIP CERTAIN IT IS A PART MALFUNCTION HOWEVER CHRYSLER REFUSING TO REPAIR. UNDERSIDE STEERING WHEEL RADIO CONTROL-THE LEFT BUTTON THAT CHANGES THE PRE-SET RADIO STATIONS AS WELL AS WHICH DISK IS PLAYING IN THE CD CHANGER IS STICKING. WE PURCHASED A USED 2005 DODGE DURANGO IN JANUARY OF THIS YEAR. WE WERE DRIVING ONE DAY A FEW WEEKS AFTER WE PURCHASED IT AND NOTICED THAT THE INTERIOR LIGHTS DID NOT GO OUT AFTER THE DOORS WERE CLOSED. I THINK THERE IS A TYPE OF "SWITCH" WHICH SHUTS OFF THE ELECTRICAL SYSTEMS IN THE VEHICLE AFTER (I BELIEVE) 15 MINUTES, SO EACH TIME WE SHUT OFF THE VEHICLE THE LIGHTS STAYED ON A FEW MINUTES. AFTER ABOUT 4 DAYS OF THIS, I STARTED THE VEHICLE UP ONE DAY AND IT DID NOT START. WE HAD THE VEHICLE TOWED AND WERE TOLD THE INSTRUMENT CLUSTER HAD TO BE REPLACED. IT TOOK A FEW DAYS TO HAVE THE WORK DONE SINCE THE SERVICE CENTER SAID THEY DO NOT TYPICALLY KEEP THE PARTS IN STOCK FOR A 2005 SINCE IT IS NOT A PROBLEM GENERALLY SEEN ON A NEWER VEHICLE. THE DEALERSHIP MOVED THE INSPECTIONS STICKER. DID NOT RESOLVE THE PROBLEM. THEY THEN REPLACED THE SENSORS AND SWITCHED, DID NOT CORRECT THE PROBLEM, THEY THEN REPLACED THE CIRCUIT BOARD, DID NOT CORRECT. THEY THEN HAD A TECH FROM THE FACTORY LOOK AT THE VEHICLE. THEY REPLACED THE MODULE. I PICKED UP THE CAR YESTERDAY AND ON MY WAY HOME FROM THE DEALER THE LIGHTS WENT ON AND OFF AGAIN. I HAVE SENT THE LEMON LAW CARD TO CHRYSLER. I CONTACTED CHRYSLER AGAIN TODAY ABOUT THIS ISSUE. THEY BASICALLY HAVE STATED THAT IT IS UP TO THE DISTRICT MANAGER TO RESOLVE THIS PROBLEM. I AM WAITING ONCE AGAIN FOR HIM TO CALL ME BACK. THE HORN ALSO BLOWS BY ITSELF (THIS HAS HAPPENED TWICE), THE RADIO HAS TURNED ITSELF ON AND OFF BY ITSELF TWICE, THE PASSENGER SIDE AIRBAG LIGHT HAS CAME ON WHEN IT SHOULD NOT AND THE DRIVERS SIDE AIRBAG SHOWED THAT IT HAD DEPLOYED WHEN IN FACT IT DID NOT. 2005 DODGE DURANGO ENGINE STALLED. *TS *REF 10156266 DURING A SHARP RIGHT TURN THE VEHICLE STALLED. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO THE DEALER. THE DEALER INSTALLED A SOFTWARE PATCH BUT THAT DID NOT SOLVE THE PROBLEM. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN BACK TO THE DEALER WHERE THEY INSTALLED A FRONT POWER TRAIN CONTROL MODULE AND SOME SECONDARY UNIT WHICH WAS SUPPOSED TO FIX THE PROBLEM. THREE DAYS LATER THE VEHICLE STALLED AGAIN WHILE DRIVING IN A PARKING LOT.

REPAIRS WERE DONE ON THE IGNITION SWITCH AND INSTRUMENT CLUSTER. THIS WAS THOUGHT TO BE RELATED TO THE REASON WHY THE AIR BAG LIGHT CONTINUED TO COME ON. THE AIR BAGS HAD NOT DEPLOYED. PROBLEM STILL RECURRED, BACK TO DEALER AND DEALER REFLASHED PCM. ADDITIONALLY, TOOK TO DEALER ACCELERATOR ASSEMBLY LOOSE AND BOLT FELL OUT WHILE DRIVING. ACCELERATOR VERY LOOSE, PART NOT AVAILABLE FOR 3 DAYS, CONCERNED THAT MAY BE AN ONGOING SAFETY ISSUE WITH THESE VEHICLES. *NM

WITHOUT WARNING, VEHICLE STALLED WITH TOTAL LOSS OF ENGINE POWER, STEERING, BRAKES, LIGHTING, ETC... WAS ABLE TO PUT IN PARK AND RE-START VEHICLE. OCCURRED TWICE WITH A 5 WEEK PERIOD; ONCE ON A WARM SUNNY DAY WHILE MAKING 3 POINT TURN AND AGAIN ON RAINY DAY WHILE MAKING A RIGHT TURN. LUCKILY I WAS GOING SLOW ENOUGH THAT I WAS ABLE TO AVOID ONCOMING VEHICLES. THUS FAR THE DEALER HAS NOT BEEN ABLE TO FIND THE CAUSE OF THE PROBLEM. THEY HAVE HOWEVER CLEANED THE THROTTLE BODY AND ADJUSTED THE IDLE. TOMORROW THEY WILL REPLACE AN O RING IN THE TRANSMISSION. I AM CONCERNED THAT ALTHOUGH I HAVE BEEN ABLE TO AVOID A COLLISION SO FAR, I MAY NOT BE SO LUCKY AS TREACHEROUS WINTER DRIVING CONDITIONS APPROACH. NOTE: I HAVE DONE SOME RESEARCH ON VARIOUS INTERNET FORUMS AND IT SEEMS THAT THIS IS A COMMON PROBLEM WITH THE DURANGO AND THE RAM 1500 WITH HEMI ENGINES AND IN ALL CASES THE MECHANICS HAVE BEEN UNABLE TO FIND THE CAUSE. *NM

MY WIFE WAS DRIVING MY DAUGHTER TO PRE-SCHOOL, AND SHE WAS CROSSING AND TURNING AT AN INTERSECTION. SUDDENLY, WITH NO WARNING, THE ENGINE QUIT, LEAVING HER WITH NO BRAKES AND NO STEERING. LUCKILY, SHE DRIFTED TO THE CURB, BUT IF THE TRAFFIC HAD BEEN HEAVY, SHE AND THE BABY COULD HAVE BEEN BADLY INJURED OR KILLED. I EXPERIENCED THE EXACT SAME PROBLEM ONE DAY LATER. I IMMEDIATELY CALLED MY DEALER, THE DODGE DEALER IN BELLEVUE, WASHINGTON, AND TOLD THEM ABOUT THE PROBLEM. THEY TOLD ME TO BRING IT IN IMMEDIATELY, SINCE THEY SAID THERE HAVE BEEN AT LEAST FIFTY SIMILAR PROBLEMS WITH DODGE HEMI ENGINES. THEY FIXED IT BY FLASHING THE CHIP IN THE COMPUTER. THIS IS A VERY SERIOUS PROBLEM, AND A RECALL NEEDS TO BE ANNOUNCED AS SOON AS POSSIBLE. *NM

TOOK TO THE DEALER WHO DID NOT WRITE ON THE SERVICE ORDER THAT THE CAR STALLED AS I TOLD THEM. DEALER FOUND NO PROBLEM, AND GAVE ME A SHEET STATING THAT COMPUTERS SOMETIMES HAVE HICKUPS. WHILE AT THE DEALER, I MET OTHERS WITH SAME PROBLEM ON THE 5.7 HEMI ENGINES. THIS MOTOR APPARENTLY HAS A DEFECT.*JB

MY 2005 DODGE DURANGO HAS AN ENGINE STALLING PROBLEM. IT CURRENTLY HAS 13000 MILES ON IT. I BOUGHT IT BRAND NEW IN DEC. SINCE THEN IT HAS STALLED ON US ABOUT 6 TIMES AT VARIOUS SPEEDS IN DRIVE AND IN REVERSE. I HAVE CALLED THE LOCAL DEALERSHIP 3 TIMES NOW AND NOTHING IS BEING DONE ABOUT IT. THEY CONTINUE TO TELL ME THAT THEY HAVE NEVER HEARD OF THIS PROBLEM AND DO NOT KNOW WHAT IS CAUSING IT. ON JULY 8, 2005 AT 6:30 AM, I OPENED MY CAR DOOR TO GO TO WORK AND THERE HAD BEEN AFIRE INSIDE THE CAR DURING THE NIGHT, CAUSING EXTENSIVE DAMAGE TO THE INTERIOR. HAD THE CAR TOWED TO MY STATE FARM APPROVED REPAIR CENTER. AFTER REPAIRS WERE STARTED, THE CAUSE OF THE FIRE WAS DETERMINED BY THE REPAIR SHOP TO BE A WIRE UNDER THE SEAT THAT WAS FOR ELECTRIC SEATS WHICH IS NOT AN OPTION IN MY CAR. DODGE WAS NOTIFIED AND THEY SAID TO STOP REPAIRS UNTIL THEY SENT AN INSPECTOR TO LOOK AT CAR. HE CAME THE FOLLOWING WEEK AND DETERMINED DODGE WAS NOT AT FAULT AND SEALED THE FILE AND WAS TOLD TO RETAIN A LAWYER IF I WANTED TO FIND OUT WHY, OTHERWISE TOO BAD. I FOUND A RECALL ON 2001 DODGE RAMS THAT WAS FOR THE SAME EXACT PROBLEM AND 2 REPORTED SUCH FIRES IN 2001 DURANGOS. MY CASE IS NOT AN ISOLATED INCIDENT AND DODGE REFUSES TO TAKE CARE OF THE PROBLEM. THE NHTSA ID IS 01V253000. OBVIOUSLY DODGE DID NOTHING TO CORRECT THE PROBLEM AND HAS NOT RECALLED THE 2002 DODGES. PLEASE HELP ME. VALERIE DAVIS. *NM

DT: THE VEHICLE SHUTS OFF WHILE DRIVING IT HAPPENED WITHOUT WARNING. CAR HAD BEEN DRIVEN FOR ABOUT ONE MINUTE THE VEHICLE WAS ONLY MOVING ABOUT 5 MPH OR LESS. THE VEHICLE WAS PUT IN PARK AND RESTARTED JUST FINE. A MONTH LATER THE SAME THING HAPPENED AT A STOP SIGN, THIS TIME THE VEHICLE SHUT OFF WHILE SITTING AT STOP. THERE WAS NO WARNING THIS TIME EITHER. OWNER DOESNT REMEMBER IF THE ELECTRIC IN VEHICLE WAS OFF OR NOT. THIS TIME THE VEHICLE STARTED RIGHT BACK AGAIN. THEN OWNER CONTACTED DEALERSHIP, THERE IS NOTHING THE DEALER CAN DO ABOUT IT BECUASE NO INFO IN THE SYSTEM ABOUT IT. THE DEALERSHIP NEEDED THE VEHICLE IN ORDER TO INSPECT, THEN THE OWNERS COULDNT TAKE TO DEALER AT THAT TIME BECAUSE THEY NEEDED THE VEHICLE. THIS HAPPENED AGAIN WITH SHUTTING OFF SEVERAL TIMES. THEN ON JUNE 2, AT APPROXIMATELY 30 MPH, THE VEHICLE SHUTT OFF AGAIN. THIS TIME THE VEHICLE STARTED BACK UP AGAIN AND THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO DEALER. THE DEALER REPORTED NO PROBLEM, THE DIAGNOSTIC COMPUTER SHOWED NO ERROR CODES. THEN STALLED AGAIN THE 24TH OF JUNE. THE VEHICLE WAS TRAVELING ABOUT 45 THIS TIME, AND MAKING A LEFT TURN, THE VEHICLE SHUT OFF IN THE MIDDLE OF THE INTERSECTION. THE VEHICLE SHUT OFF AGAIN LATER THAT DAY, THE VEHICLE WERE ON, AIR CONDITIONING, ALL SHUT OFF. THE DASH LIGHTS WENT OUT. THERE WAS NO ELECTRICITY IN THE VEHICLE EXCEPT FOR THE TAIL AND HEAD LIGHTS, AND THE VEHICLE HAD NO BRAKE LIGHTS, AND THIS WAS DANGEROURS BECUASE THIS TIME THE VEHICLE SHUT OFF AT NIGHT. THE VEHICLE STARTED AGAIN AND WAS DRIVEN FOR THE REST OF THE TRIP. THEN VEHICLE WAS TOWED HOME.

DT: WHEN COMING TO A STOP VEHICLE DIED. ONCE AT A STOP SIGN. VEHICLE DIED WAS WHEN THE GAS APPLIED. THERE WERE NO DASH LIGHTS WHEN THE VEHICLE DIESD THIS WAS A 2005 VEHICLE. THERE HAD BEEN 4 STALLING PROBLEMS. THE VEHICLE IDLES IN HIGH AND WHINES. THE IDLE IS NOT ALL THE TIME. VEHICLE HAS BEEN IN THE DEALERSHIP FOR REPAIRS 3 OR 4 TIMES. THE CLIMATE WAS NOT A FACTOR. THE VEHICLE HAD CONTIUALLY HAD ONGOING PROBLEMS. THE DEALERSHIP TRIED TO FIX THE STALLING PROBLEM. THE COMPUTER HAS BEEN RESET , AND AN IDLE SWITCH WAS ADDED. RIGHT NOW CONSUMER IS WAITING FOR THE TOOLS FROM CHRYSLER TO FIX THE RECALL PART. THE CONSUMER CALLED IN ADVANCE FOR AN APPOINTMENT. DEALER KEPT THE VEHICLE ALL DAY, BUT THEY VDIDN'T HAVE THE CORRECT TOOLS.*AK

MY HUSBAND & I PURCHASED A 2005 DODGE DURANGO WITH A HEMI ABOUT A MONTH AGO. ABOUT 2 WEEKS AGO (MAY 11, 2005), I PUT THE DURANGO IN REVERSE (I WAS IN A STOP POSITION), AND THE ENGINE JUST DIED OUT. I PUT IT IN PARK AND STARTED THE ENGINE AGAIN. I DROVE TO MY MOM'S TO PICK HER UP. AGAIN I WAS IN A STOP POSITION, PUT THE DURANGO IN REVERSE, AND THE ENGINE DIED OUT AGAIN. AFTER I DROPPED OFF MY MOM, I IMMEDIATELY TOOK THE DURANGO TO THE DEALER. THEY KEPT IT THERE AND TESTED IT FOR SEVERAL HOURS. NOTHING HAPPENED. THEY COULD NOT VERIFY MY COMPLAINT. THEY DID TELL ME, HOWEVER, THAT THE COMPUTER NEEDED TO BE RE-PROGRAMED. THIS PAST SATURDAY, MY HUSBAND & I DROVE THE DURANGO TO KONA FOR THE DAY. WHILE DRIVING UP A RAMP AT ONE OF THE HOTELS, THE ENGINE DIED OUT AGAIN! FIRST THING MONDAY MORNING (5/23/2005), I CALLED THE DEALER'S SERVICE DEPT. AND EXPLAINED WHAT HAD HAPPENED. (I SPOKE TO SHERRI) THEY CHECKED WITH THEIR SERVICE MANAGER, WHO ALONG WITH THE MECHANIC, CALLED STAR. THEY TOLD THEM TO INSALL A "CO-PILOT". THEY (THE MANAGER, SERVICE ADVISOR AND THE MECHANIC, ALONG WITH MYSELF) DO NOT THINK THAT MAKES ANY SENSE. THE DURANGO JUST DIES OUT, AND THE CO-PILOT WOULD ONLY MAKE SENSE IF MYSELF OR MY HUSBAND HAD THE TIME TO PRESS THE BUTTON BEFORE THE TRUCK DIED OUT. IN THIS CASE, THE TRUCK JUST DIES OUT, SO WE DON'T HAVE THE TIME TO PRESS THE BUTTON FIRST. I'M AFRAID THAT THE TRUCK WILL DIE OUT WHILE DRIVING AND WILL CAUSE AN ACCIDENT.

I HAVE AN 05 HEMI DURANGO LIMITED WITH 3,300 MILES ON IT. SINCE NEW THE VEHICLE HAS OCCASSIONALLY DIED WHEN MAKING LOW SPEED TURNS. THE DEALER HAS INFORMED ME THAT THE PCM FLASH PROVIDED BY DODGE HAS NOT CORRECTED THE PROBLEM AND THEY ARE STILL WORKING ON A FIX. OVERALL THE VEHICLE HAS STALLED FIVE TIMES. I HAVE ALSO FILED A SIMILAR COMPLAINT FOR MY 05 RAM 2500 WITH THE HEMI ENGINE.
