Several repairs for sensor Labor: Check and advise the check engine light is on and the vehicle wants to stall when accelerating. Vehicle loses engine power but has not stalled completely (low/reverse solenoid circuit. Test and replaced transmission solenoid assembly; cost: $819.65, prior to that $1200.00, $546.00. I'm unemployed and the truck costing more repairs. The plastic on radiator has cracked all the way cross and leaks coolant, stop radiator leak encourage by dealership and to seal leak or replace radiator (it's upsetting and its cost me thousands of dollars, my last two SUV was dodge Durango and I love them but this one has given the most problems and cost me financially. Plus, when I purchased the dealership replace windshield because of flaw in glass and it wasn't repaired correctly and Oakland County Sheriff said my truck was dangerous, but you said it was fine. In the winter of 2020 i had to use my 4wd lock in my durango. It never come out of 4wd lock. As a former ase technician and auto center manager I have to say dodge has a mess on their hands. 1st off its ridiculous to stop the flow of technical information to the owners of chrysler vehicles due to globalization!? I have been working on this vehicle for months as my patience allows. All testing and troubleshooting place the issue back into electrical issues within these durangos. This is a dangerous problem so many people own older dodge & chrysler products affected by this transfer case problem, recall it and get it done! Now it has to go to a chrysler dealer to have the codes cleared by a dodge scanner. Issue with that is the local dodge dealer in the village i live is not known for honesty. I took my durango there when i had issues with security system. I was told it would need a $1000. computer to start, then maybe another $1000. I took it home put a security module in it, been driving it since. Hold Chrysler accountable, do something for these thousands of people who own nice looking nice running dodge products they can't drive due to transfer case issues, and its not just one issue, there are several issues & components in that system that are troublesome!!

THE 4WD SVC LIGHT WILL COME ON AT RANDOM WHILE DRIVING DOWN THE HIGHWAY AT VARIOUS SPEEDS. SOMETIMES IT WILL BE SHIFTING INTO 4X4 ON IT'S ON AND WHEN I MAKE A TURN, I CAN FEEL THE 4X4 WORKING WITHOUT EVER PHYSICALLY TURNING IT ON. OTHER TIMES, I CAN HEAR THE TRANSFER CASE MOTOR MAKING NOISE FOR ABOUT 2 SECONDS WHEN I OPEN THE DOOR OR PRESS THE KEY FOB BUTTON. I PULLED A TROUBLE CODE OF C1404. FURTHER RESEARCH OF THIS CODE AND ISSUE RESULTS IN OVER 500 COMPLAINTS ONLINE. IT SEEMS TO BE A COMMON PROBLEM THAT SHOULD BE FIXED BY THE MANUFACTURER BEFORE THERE IS AN ACCIDENT. THE CONTACT STATED THAT THE TECHNICIAN DID NOT REVEAL THE RECALL PARTS THAT WERE REPLACED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOT MADE AWARE OF THE FAILURES. TRANSFER CASE MOTOR ACTUATOR ENGAGES UPON UNLOCKING THE DOORS USING THE WIRELESS REMOTE ENTRY REMOTE, ALSO WHEN USING MY TRUNK OPENING BUTTON FROM THE REMOTE SOMETIMES THE TRANSFER CASE MOTOR WILL ACTUATE THE TRUCK WILL SOMETIMES SHIFT ITSELF INTO 4 WHEEL LOCK AND 4-WHEEL LOW SITTING AT A RED LIGHT WHILE I'M IN DRIVE THIS CANNOT HAPPEN AT SPEED IT CREATES AN IMMEDIATE SAFETY CONCERN BECAUSE IT CAN CREATE A COMPLETE LOSS OF POWER TO THE VEHICLE CAUSING AN IMMINENT CRASH. BEINGS THAT I AM A TECHNICIAN, I HAVE ALREADY REPLACED MY TRANSFER CASE CONTROL MOTOR ACTUATOR AND FULLY EXAMINED ALL THE WIRING RUNNING TO IT AND FROM IT AND FOUND NO SHORTS TO GROUND NO FRAYED WIRES OR GROUND FAULTS THIS IS SIMPLY A COMPUTER RELATED MALFUNCTION AND DURING THE MALFUNCTION IT DOES NOT THROW A DTC FOR A CHECK ENGINE LIGHT SO THERE'S FOR A TECH TO SCAN.

IT IS A MIRACLE WE DIDN'T ROLL OVER, BUT ANOTHER TRUCK WAS FORCED OFF OF THE ROAD WHILE I USED TWO LANES TO TRY TO CONTROL THE DURANGO. I TOOK THE TRUCK TO THE DEALER AND NO ONE COULD FIND ANYTHING WRONG WITH IT (NO ACTIVE CODE)... IT DROVE FINE FOR A FEW DAYS THEN THE SRVC 4X4 LIGHT CAME ON AND THE TRUCK SWITCHED INTO NEUTRAL WHILE TRYING TO CROSS A STREET... I COULDN'T MOVE IN THE MIDDLE OF A BUSY INTERSECTION. TOWED THE TRUCK TO THE SHOP. SHOP STATED THEY DIDN'T KNOW WHAT TO FIX. STILL NO ACTIVE CODE, TRUCK SEEMS FINE. I DROVE IT A FEW MORE DAYS AND NOW IT HAS SLIPPED INTO A LOWER GEAR. CANNOT TRAVEL OVER 35 MPH.. PARKING, REVERSE AND TIGHT TURNS ARE VERY DIFFICULT. MY TAKE OFF SPEED IS NEARLY NONEXISTENT. TRUCK SHIFTED BACK INTO NEUTRAL ON ITS OWN AS I WAS MAKING A RIGHT HAND TURN. I SHUT OFF AND RESTARTED THE TRUCK THREE TIMES. ALL THREE TIMES IT SOUNDED LIKE A STUN GUN SPARKING BEHIND MY DASH AND IT LIT UP WITH A WHITE LIGHT FROM INSIDE. THE INSTRUMENT PANEL CLUSTER HAS FAILED. RECALL G07: INSTRUMENT PANEL CLUSTER: KNOWN TO OVERHEAT AND CATCH FIRE. THE RECALL WAS PERFORMED ON MY TRUCK IN 2007, THERE WAS NO WARRANTY ON THE REPLACEMENT PART. DEALERSHIP WILL NOT HELP. I AM SO SORRY I BOUGHT THIS TRUCK. PLEASE... SOMETIMES THE DURANGO SHIFTS ROUGHLY AS YOU ACCELERATE OR DECELERATE. AS TIME HAS GONE ON THE PROBLEM HAS BECOME MORE PERSISTENT. I FINALLY TOOK MY DURANGO IN TO OUR MECHANIC AND HE REPLACED THE EGR VALVE AND THE THROTTLE POSITION SENSOR. WITHIN 2 WEEKS OF THESE PARTS BEING REPLACED, MY DURANGO AGAIN BEGAN STALLING OUT. I DID HAVE THE DURANGO STALL OUT TWICE, BACK TO BACK, LOSING ALL POWER IN THE VEHICLE, INCLUDING POWER STEERING. I MANAGED TO GET HOME AND CALLED THE MECHANIC. THIS TIME HE REPLACED THE THROTTLE CONTROL MODULE. THE DURANGO IS STILL STALLING OUT AND SOMETIMES VERY SLOW TO ENGAGE GEARS WHEN STARTING OFF FROM A STOPPED POSITION. THIS PROBLEM WAS SUPPOSEDLY ADDRESS IN THE 2004-2005 MODELS AND CORRECTED. I AM AFRAID TO DRIVE MY DURANGO AS IT IS NOT RELIABLE; THIS IS AN ACCIDENT WAITING TO HAPPEN. CLEARLY THE PROBLEM HAS NOT BEEN FIXED.

SO $1400 DOLLARS LATER AND 5 DAYS I PICKED UP MY CAR AND 3 MILES AWAY FROM SHOP THE CAR DID THE SAME THING AGAIN. I TOOK IT BACK THEY DID A TEST THE CODES WHERE COMING BACK AS A WEIRD CODES. AS AN ASE MASTER AUTOMOBILE TECHNICIAN AND A FORMER CHRYSLER FACTORY TRAINED TECHNICIAN, I CONNECTED A SCAN TOOL TO THIS VEHICLE TO SEE WHAT WAS GOING ON. AS STATED, THERE WAS NO CEL, SO THERE WERE NO CODES ACTIVE, PENDING OR HISTORICAL. OBSERVATION OF THE LIVE DATA STREAM REVEALED NOTHING OUT OF THE ORDINARY. AS I WAS EXITING A HIGHWAY, MY 2006 DODGE DURANGO SUDDENLY STALLED OUT. THE ENGINE LIGHT CAME ON AFTER IT STALLED. I LOST CONTROL OF STEERING AND WAS UNABLE TO BRAKE. I NEARLY CRASHED INTO THE CAR IN FRONT OF ME, AND WAS BARELY ABLE TO TURN THE STEERING WHEEL ENOUGH TO RUN INTO THE CURB TO STOP MY VEHICLE! I WAS NOT ABLE TO RE-START IT AND HAD TO BE TOWED. WHILE WAITING FOR POLICE TO ARRIVE, I WAS NEARLY REAR-ENDED MULTIPLE TIMES. IT WAS TOWED TO A SHOP AND THE MECHANIC WAS ABLE TO START IT UP WITH NO PROBLEM THE NEXT MORNING. HE CHECKED EVERYTHING, AND RAN ALL DIAGNOSTIC TESTS - ALL CAME BACK SHOWING NO PROBLEMS. THERE IS CLEARLY A PROBLEM - AND THERE ARE MAN, MANY, MANY COMPLAINTS ABOUT IT ALL OVER THE INTERNET. IF I HAD BEEN ON THE HIGHWAY WHEN THIS HAPPENED, I COULD HAVE BEEN IN A VERY SERIOUS ACCIDENT AND COULD HAVE BEEN KILLED, OR KILLED SOMEONE ELSE, SINCE I LOST COMPLETE CONTROL OF THE VEHICLE AND WAS UNABLE TO STEER OR BRAKE. I FIRST NOTICED A PROBLEM WHEN LEAVING WORK BY SIMPLY UNLOCKING MY 06 DURANGO (ALL WHEEL DRIVE/ 4 WHEEL DRIVE) WITH THE KEY FOB THE TRANSFER CASE CONTROL MOTOR STARTS SHIFTING THE TRUCK IN AND OUT FROM AWD TO 4WD AND I HAVEN'T EVEN OPENED THE DOOR!! AS THE WEEKS PASS IT DOES THIS SEVERAL MORE TIMES BUT WHAT IS MORE UNNERVING IS THAT AS I AM DRIVING AT HWY SPEEDS, 60 TO 70 MPH, OR ANY SPEED REALLY, MY "4 WHEEL LOW" LIGHT ON THE DASH WILL START TO FLICKER AS IF IT IS TRYING TO SHIFT INTO 4 WHEEL LOW UN-COMMANDED. AFTER SEARCHING SEVERAL FORUMS I FIND THIS TO BE A COMMON CHRONIC ELECTRICAL PROBLEM WITH DURANGOS AND A HUGE SAFETY RISK. PLEASE UNDERSTAND THAT MAX SPEED FOR A 4 WHEEL DRIVE VEHICLE THAT IS IN 4 WHEEL LOW IS ABOUT 10 TO 15 MPH, THE GEAR RATIO IS EXTREMELY LOW AND INTENDED FOR MAXIMUM TRACTION WHEN OFF ROAD. IF THIS VEHICLE SHIFTS INTO 4 WHEEL LOW AT 70 MPH ALL 4 WHEELS WILL COME TO A STOP AND THE DRIVER WILL MOST LIKELY LOOSE TOTAL CONTROL. AT THAT SPEED THIS IS A DANGEROUS COMBINATION. I HAVE READ OF THIS HAPPENING TO DURANGOS WITH SERIOUS DAMAGE AND HUGE EXPENSE FOR THE OWNER. THIS VERY SCENARIO HAPPENED TO A CO-WORKERS WIFE WITH HIS KIDS IN THEIR 06 DURANGO, LUCKILY SHE WAS ONLY TRAVELING AT ABOUT 30 TO 35 MPH AND NO ACCIDENT OCCURRED. NOW MY KEY FOB WONT EVEN OPEN THE DOOR, IT ACTS AS IF ITS DEAD OR BROKEN. I HAVE TO USE THE KEY TO UNLOCK THE TRUCK MANUALLY WHICH SETS OFF THE ALARM EVERY TIME I UNLOCK THE DOOR. THE SAME ELECTRICAL PROBLEM I STARTED WITH IS TIED TO THE 4 WHEEL DRIVE ELECTRICALLY, ANOTHER COMMON CHRONIC PROBLEM. MY LOCAL DODGE DEALER DENIES HAVING ANY KNOWLEDGE OF THIS PROBLEM OR A FIX AND FROM WHAT I HAVE READ DODGE DENIES IT AS WELL. THE VEHICLE STARTED OUT BY SHIFTING ON ITS OWN WHEN THE VEHICLE WOULD BE STOPPED. THEN IT BEGAN SHIFTING ON ITS OWN EVEN WHEN IT WAS TURNED OFF. IT WOULD SHIFT INTO 4 LO OR 4 HIGH TOTALLY ON ITS OWN WHEN STOPPED. THEN FROM THERE IT STARTED SHIFTING INTO 4 LO OR HIGH WHILE DRIVING AND IT WOULD SOUND LIKE SOMEBODY HAD HIT THE VEHICLE FROM BEHIND AND IT WOULD SHOVE THE VEHICLE FORWARD AS THOUGH IT HAD BEEN HIT BUT ALL BECAUSE IT WAS SHIFTING ON ITS OWN. I TOOK IT TO OUR MECHANIC A COUPLE OF TIMES BUT IT WOULD NOT REPEAT ITSELF WHILE HE HAD IT AND HE HAD NOT HEARD OF SUCH A THING BEFORE, SO I CONTINUED TO DRIVE IT. SOMETIMES IT WOULD NOT REVERSE WITHOUT GIVING IT A LOT OF GAS AND SOMETIMES IT WOULD NOT TURN WHEN I NEEDED IT TO, PERHAPS BECAUSE IT WAS IN 4LO OR HI. AND OCCASIONALLY IT WOULD JUMP FORWARD WITH NO WARNING OR CONTROL MAKING SCREECHING SOUNDS FROM THE TIRES. THEN ONE DAY I WAS SITTING IN TRAFFIC AND IT SHIFTED ITSELF INTO 4 LO AND THRUSTED THE CAR FORWARD SEVERAL FEET AND LUCKILY I WAS FAR ENOUGH BACK FROM THE VEHICLE IN FRONT OF ME THAT I DIDN'T HIT IT. HOWEVER AT THAT POINT IT WOULD BARELY DRIVE SO I SLOWLY GOT IT OFF THE SIDE OF THE ROAD AND THEN IT WOULD NOT SHIFT OUT OF 4 LO THE ENTIRE DAY, SO I HAD TO EVENTUALLY HAVE IT TOWED TO MY MECHANIC. BY THE TIME IT GOT THERE IT DROVE FINE AGAIN AND HE COULD NOT FIND THE PROBLEM. BUT WHILE PARKED IN HIS LOT, IT BEGAN TO CHANGE GEARS, ON ITS OWN, AND WHILE TURNED OFF. HE DID SOME RESEARCH AND FOUND THAT OTHER OWNERS OF 2006 DODGE DURANGOS HAD REPORTED SIMILAR PROBLEMS AND HE CALLED TO LET US KNOW THAT IT WAS A MANUFACTURERS DEFECT THAT HE COULD NOT REPAIR IT AND TO FILE A REPORT ON IT AND THAT IT WAS EXTREMELY UNSAFE TO DRIVE. HE SAID IT WAS SHIFTING ITSELF INTO OTHER GEARS WHETHER THE VEHICLE WAS OFF OR ON AND TO MAKE SURE THAT WE LEFT IT IN PARK AS IT COULD PUT ITSELF INTO NEUTRAL AND STILL ROLL EVEN WHILE OFF. OUR 2006 DODGE DURANGO 4X4 SLT IS IN THE SERVICE DEPT FOR THE 2ND TIME IN TWO WEEKS FOR A TRANSMISSION PROBLEM. I AM TOLD THE "TRANSMISSION SOLENOID" AND "TRANSMISSION FILTERS" NEED TO BE REPLACED. TWO WEEKS AGO, A "TRANSMISSION CONTROL SWITCH" NEEDED TO BE REPLACED. IN BOTH INSTANCES, THE VEHICLE WAS TRAVELING ON INTERSTATE WHEN THE DURANGO'S "TRANSMISSION CHECK LIGHT" CAME ON. SHORTLY LATER, THE VEHICLE BEGAN TO HESITATE AS THOUGH IT WAS LOSING POWER. IN BOTH SITUATIONS, THE DURANGO EXITED THE FREEWAY BUT BEGAN TO JOLT FORWARD AND BACKWARD. IN BOTH CASES, MY WIFE (2ND SITUATION) AND I (1ST SITUATION) BARELY MADE IT HOME AND TO THE SERVICE DEALERSHIP. THERE IS A CLEAR SAFETY PROBLEM WITH THIS VEHICLE... AND IT LOOKS TO BE MANY MORE MAY HAVE THE SAME ISSUE (SAFETY BULLETIN #0803006; ITEM #10021239). THESE SITUATIONS COULD HAVE HAD SERIOUS SAFETY RESULTS DUE TO THE NATURE OF THE ISSUE. MY THREE YEAR OLD SON CLIMBED UP INTO THE DRIVER SEAT AND SHIFTED THE VEHICLE INTO NEUTRAL WITHOUT A KEY, AND ROLLED DOWN A HILL WITH JUST HIM IN THE CAR AND CRASHED INTO A TREE. NO ONE WAS SERIOUSLY HURT BUT THE CIRCUMSTANCES COULD HAVE BEEN ALOT WORSE. THERE IS A RECALL OUT THERE FOR THIS YEAR, MAKE , AND MODEL DURANGO BUT MY VIN NUMBER WAS NOT INCLUDED, THE RECALL IS FOR A "SHIFTER PAWL IMPROPERLY INSTALLED". THE VEHICLE IS IN THE SHOP BEING REPAIRED AND PHOTOS OF THE ITEM WILL BE TAKEN WHEN THE VEHICLE IS TORN APART. FOR SOME REASON CHRYSLER DENIED MY CLAIM TO ASSUME FINANCIAL RESPONSIBILITY BECAUSE THEY STATED MY VEHICLE HAD 90,000 MILES AND WAS NOT COVERED UNDER FACTORY WARRANTY, ALTHOUGH IT WAS THERE MISTAKE THAT CAUSED THE ACCIDENT TO BEGIN WITH. THE VEHICLE COULD HAVE VERY WELL HAD THIS PROBLEM FOR THE LAST 80,000 MILES, BUT KNOW ONE EVER TRIED TO SHIFT IT OUT OF PARK BEFORE WITHOUT THE KEYS. WITH OUR 2006 DODGE DURANGO, THERE IS A SHAKE OF THE TRANSMISSION BETWEEN 40-50 MILES AN HOUR. WE FIRST TOOK THE TRUCK IN TO THE CHRYSLER DEALERSHIP WITH THIS PROBLEM AND A LEAK THEY REPLACED THE FRONT END DIFFERENTIAL. AFTER THIS THERE HAVE BEEN 3 TRANSMISSION LEAKS THAT THEY HAVE REPAIRED. THE TRUCK CONTINUES TO HAVE THE SAME SHAKING SO WE TOOK IT TO ANOTHER CHRYSLER DEALERSHIP. WITH THIS DEALERSHIP, THEY WENT ON A TEST DRIVE WITH US AND WERE ABLE TO RECOGNIZE THE SHAKING. IT IS NOTED THAT THIS IS A PROBLEM WITH OUR VEHICLE AND WHEN CALLING THE CHRYSLER STAR CENTER THEY SAY THAT THIS IS THE WAY THE TRUCK IS DESIGNED AND THERE IS NO CURRENT FIX FOR THE PROBLEM! WE WERE TOLD BY THE CHRYSLER DISTRICT MANAGER THAT WE NEED TO WAIT FOR CHRYSLER TO MAKE A FIX FOR THE PROBLEM. THEY SAY THAT THE SHAKING WILL NOT CAUSE ANY PROBLEMS, BUT AS I SAID EARLIER, WE HAVE HAD MULTIPLE TRANSMISSION LEAKS. WHEN WE WERE CONTACTED ABOUT EXTENDING OUR WARRANTY, WE WERE DENIED DUE TO THERE BEING A CLAIM AGAINST CHRYSLER. BECAUSE OF THE SHAKING OF THE TRUCK, WE ARE UNABLE TO PULL OUR TRAVEL TRAILER THAT IS THE MAIN PURPOSE OF THIS VEHICLE. WHEN WE DID DRIVE THE TRUCK PULLING THE TRAILER THAT IS MUCH LESS THAN THE TOWING CAPACITY OF THE VEHICLE, IT SHAKES BAD ENOUGH TO SHAKE CUPS OUT OF THE HOLDERS. NEED TO BE FREE AND CLEAR OF ALL FINANCIAL RESPONSIBILITY OF THIS CAR. DEALER NOW TELLS ME THAT THEY ARE ?HARD-WIRING? THE PCM DIRECTLY TO THE CAM SENSOR. THEY TOLD ME THAT THERE IS A ?GLITCH? WITHIN THE WIRING THAT THEY WILL SIMPLY BYPASS BY PUTTING IN A DIRECT CONNECTION, THUS MANIPULATING ORIGINAL WIRING CODES.. I WILL NOT PUT MYSELF AND 3 CHILDREN IN THIS SITUATION AGAIN, AND REFUSE TO PICK UP MY VEHICLE! *TR
I HAVE A 2006 DODGE DURANGO MY INCIDENT HAPPENED ON FEBRUARY THE 8TH 2008 MY MOTHER WAS DRIVING MY VEHICLE BACK FROM A FUNERAL WITH MY 88 YEAR OLD GRANDMOTHER THEY HEARD A LOUD SOUND THAT SEEMED TO BE SOMETHING DRAGGING BENEATH THE DURANGO. THE VEHICLE IMMEDIATELY LOST IT'S POWER AND LOCKED UP. DRIVE SHAFT HAD FALLEN OFF THE DURANGO AND WAS LYING ON THE PAVEMENT. THE DEALERSHIP HAS TAKEN A MONTH TO FIX THIS VEHICLE AND IT STILL ISN'T WORKING. LAST FRIDAY MARCH 7TH OF 2008 I WAS TOLD MY VEHICLE WAS READY TO BE PICKED UP BY THE DEALERSHIP. SINCE I NEVER WAS GIVEN A RENTAL MY HUSBAND AND I HAD TO DRIVE TWO HOURS TO GO AND PICK UP THE DURANGO. ONCE WE GOT THE DURANGO IT WAS AFTER 5:30 WHICH THE SERVICE DEPARTMENT WAS CLOSING. MY HUSBAND AND I VENTURED HOME HE FOLLOWED BEHIND TO MAKE SURE THAT I HAD NO TROUBLE WITH THE DURANGO. HE NOTICED ABOUT 40 MINUTES AFTER WE HAD BEEN DRIVING THAT FLUID WAS SPEWING OUT THE REAR-END OF MY DURANGO AND THE PASSENGER BACK TIRE WAS BOUNCING AND WOBBLING UNCONTROLLABLY. HE IMMEDIATELY PULLED ME OVER AND TOOK OVER THE DRIVING OF MY VEHICLE WHILE I DROVE HIS TRUCK. I CALLED THE DEALERSHIP FIRST THING IN THE MORNING TO TELL THEM WHAT WAS HAPPENING WITH THE DURANGO. THEY ASKED THAT I DRIVE THE VEHICLE BACK EVEN THOUGH IT WASN'T SAFE TO DRIVE PERIOD. ONCE THEY REALIZED THAT I WASN'T GOING TO MAKE THIS DRIVE THEY TRIED TO GET ME TO TOW MY VEHICLE TO THE CLOSEST DEALERSHIP TO ME KNOWING THAT MY WARRANTY WOULDN'T PAY ANYONE ELSE SINCE THEY HAD ALREADY STARTED AND WERE PAID $2,600.00 TO FIX A VEHICLE THAT STILL WASN'T RUNNING. IN OTHER WORDS" I " THE CUSTOMER WOULD GET STUCK WITH THE BILL. AFTER ARGUING WITH THEM AN ENTIRE MORNING INCLUDING THE WARRANTY PEOPLE AND THE DEALERSHIP THAT WAS CLOSEST TO MY HOME. THE DEALERSHIP TWO HOURS AWAY FINALLY AGREED TO TAKE MY VEHICLE BACK. A TOW TRUCK HAD TO BE CALLED AGAIN AND DRIVE TWO HOURS TO COME AND GET THE DURANGO. *TR

THIS IS MY SECOND COMPLAINT. MY 2006 DURANGO SEEMS TO NOT WANT TO CHANGE GEARS. IT SEEMS TO DO IT MORE FREQUENTLY WHEN THE AIR IS ON. HOWEVER, IT DOES IT WAY TOO OFTEN WHEN THE AIR ISN'T ON. IT SEEMS LIKE A BIG JERK, AND IT TAKES IT A MINUTE TO GET INTO THE GEAR. ESPECIALLY WHEN I TRY TO SPEED UP. IT HAPPENS ON SHORT TRIPS AS WELL AS ON THE INTERSTATE. IT MAKES ME FEEL LIKE THE TRANSMISSION IS ABOUT TO FALL OUT. I LOVE MY CAR. I HAVE ONLY HAD IT A LITTLE OVER A YEAR. HOWEVER, IF THESE PROBLEMS CONTINUE, I WILL HAVE NO CHOICE BUT TO TRADE IT. I HAVE ALREADY HAD ONE RECALL ON IT FOR THE INSTRUMENT PANEL. I NEED TO KNOW IF THERE IS A RECALL ON THIS PROBLEM . I HAVE TALKED TO OTHER PEOPLE WHO ARE HAVING THE SAME PROBLEMS. *TR
TL*- THE CONTACT BOUGHT A NEW 2006 DURANGO ON 11/18/06 FROM TOWBIN DODGE AND SHE HAS BEEN HAVING PROBLEMS SINCE THE PURCHASE DATE. SHE TOOK IT BACK TO THE DEALERSHIP FOUR TIMES FOR A SHUTTER IN THE TRANSMISSION WHEN SHIFTING GEARS AT 10-15 MPH. THE FAILURE HAS OCCURRED FOUR TIMES. THE DEALER HAS HAD POSSESSION OF THE VEHICLE FOR 50 DAYS AND HAS NOT BEEN ABLE TO REPAIR THE VEHICLE. SHE CALLED THE MANUFACTURER, AND THEY KEPT TELLING HER TO CALL THE DEALER, AND THE DEALER TOLD HER TO CALL THE MANUFACTURER.
