While driving without notice transmission light flashes and the 2011 Dodge Durango will not shift out of gear. I have had this problem in the past and told dealer but they always say they have no codes and on test drive cant confirm the issue. The first time it happened was around the 50 000 mile mark I thought nothing of it back then as I restarted the car it went away. Over the years it go worst to the point that it would happen at least once or multiple times during my daily commute it I told the dealership about it but no codes and they said on a test run no problems. I stopped driving the car in 2019 because it was too dangerous to drive daily especially in traffic due to the car unable to shift gears left me stranded in the middle of the freeway many times waiting to restart car and car would behave normal until the transmission light comes on where i have to power off durango and restart where ever it happens freeway stop signs lights or where ever it decides to happen. I want to get this car running again but dont have the money to fix an issue that i had when it was still covered by the extended warranty and now i have to pay out of pocket because im over the milage so this car has been sitting and i feel as i been ripped off because of al the issues. Im end up dying in this thing if i take it out. Ive donr the recalls and now i see another recall for the same issue that they said they fixed is been reissued im certain all of the issues is tied to the computer unit it i already had one replaced in this car because when i took it for the alternator issue when the car just died with no warning they told me it was fried. All the recall issues that have been mandated are all the issues i had car stalling not starting battery dead and drained fuel relay power module no power how is this not a lemon. this car is a saftey issue on so many levels. Im now trying to get this car running and im still having the same issues i have 129000 miles on it now

The contact stated that the vehicle then stalled and was not able to restart. The contact observed smoke emanating from the engine compartment. The contact stated that the fire was extinguished. The vehicle was restarted the vehicle caught fire. The vehicle was towed to a dealer where it was diagnosed that the alternator, PCM, and battery needed to be replaced. The vehicle was repaired. The manufacturer was notified of the failure. The failure mileage was 173,529. Dodge Dealership who stated that the alternator burned from the inside out and caused additional damage to the PCM. Causing $3,000.00 worth of damage due to the faulty alternator. The FCA refuses to reimburse the contact for damages caused by alternator.

While at speed, the FCW light goes off and the vehicle looses the ability to accelerate. I usually have to pull over, shut down the vehicle, and restart it to continue. I have had all of the recalls completed as soon as possible, and the last one was completed several years ago. Similar things happened previously with this car but seemed to be fixed by recalls. This has only started happening again recently, say within the last month or two, and is happening with greater frequency.
The dealership sold wrecked vehicle without fixing the engine only the body of vehicle was repaired. Engine failure truck cut off while in traffic almost hit another vehicle. My stock alternator caught fire, and made my car completely lock up and shut down while I was driving. Upon further diagnosis my PCM was affected. There was a recall for that exact issue and in the year my vehicle was manufactured, yet my car VIN is not included! It’s the same issue from the recall

THE DODGE FORUM IS FULL OF COMPLAINTS ABOUT SAME ISSUE HAPPENING TO LEAST 20 OTHERS I HAVE SEEN SO FAR. I'M BEING CHARGED ABOUT $5000 TO CHANGE TRANSFER SWITCH AND CASE NOW. BUT WITH SO MANY OF US WHY HASN'T THIS BEEN RECALLED. I THINK THE WHOLE PROBLEM IS OUR COMPUTERS ARE FAULTY. I HAVE ALL KINDS OF LIGHTS FLASHING UP AT TIMES FOR NO REASON AND NO CODES ARE FOUND WITH CEL ON. THE DIAGNOSIS WAS A DEFECTIVE ALTERNATOR AND A BURNT OUT POWER TRAIN CONTROL MODULE. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT INCLUDED IN NHTSA CAMPAIGN NUMBER: 17V435000 (ELECTRICAL SYSTEM). THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOTIFIED OF THE FAILURE. THE APPROXIMATE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS UNKNOWN.
TRANSFER CASE SWITCHES FROM AWD TO AWD LOW ON ITS OWN WHICH CAN CAUSE A ACCIDENT ON THE HIGHWAY. THE TRANSFER CASE WILL NOT SWITCH TO AWD LOW WHEN BUTTON IS ENGAGED. THIS IS A KNOWN PROBLEM THAT ALL THE OWNERS ARE EXPERIENCING OF YOUR VEHICLE. THERE SHOULD BE A RECALL FOR THIS PROBLEM.

THE 4WD MESSAGE STARTING DISPLAYING ON MY DASHBOARD, THE AWD/LO NEUTRAL LIGHT WAS ON, I TRIED FOLLOWING THE INSTRUCTIONS IN THE MANUAL TO TURN IT OFF, BUT IT DID NOT WORK. WHEN I PULLED INTO MY DRIVEWAY I TRIED AGAIN TO GET THE MESSAGE TO SHUT OFF BY FOLLOWING INSTRUCTIONS THEN MY CAR BEGAN TO GO IN REVERSE, MY BREAKS WOULD NOT WORK, AND I HAD TO PUT THE EMERGENCY BREAK ON. EVEN WITH THE CAR SHUT OFF THE CAR WILL ROLL, I HAVE KEPT THE EMERGENCY BREAK ON AND WAITING FOR A MECHANIC TO LOOK AT IT. BASED ON MY RESEARCH THIS IS A COMMON ISSUE WITH THE DURANGO'S AND DODGE HAS DONE NOTHING TO RECALL THESE FAULTY SWITCHES. THIS IS A MAJOR CONCERN AS I COULD HAVE BEEN OUT OF MY VEHICLE WHEN IT STARTED TO ROLL CAUSING DANGER FOR ANYONE AROUND.

MY VEHICLE HAS 69,000 MILES ON IT. IT IS VERY WELL MAINTAINED. RECENTLY I HAVE EXPERIENCED WHEN COMING TO A COMPLETE STOP THE VEHICLE FOR WHATEVER REASON SHUTS OFF. I HAVE TO PUSH THE IGNITION BUTTON TO RESTART THE VEHICLE AND IT RUNS FINE. IT'S SCARY TO THINK THAT YOUR VEHICLE CAN JUST SHUT IT'S OFF WITHOUT ANY WARNING. THE DEALERSHIP DOESN'T HAVE AN EXPLANATION AND THERE IS NO RECALL. HOWEVER; THERE ARE MULTIPLE PEOPLE VIA THE INTERNET THAT HAVE EXPERIENCED THIS SAME EVENT. I THINK FODGE SHOULD BE LOOKING INTO THIS ISSUE. FUEL RELATED..ELECTRICAL?? LOTS OF QUESTIONS, BUT SOMETHING NEEDS TO BE DONE!!! SCARED FOR MY SAFETY!!

THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN BACK TO THE UNKNOWN DEALER WHERE IT WAS DIAGNOSED THAT THE COLLISION WARNING SENSOR FAILED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOTIFIED OF THE FAILURES. THE COLLISION CAMERA SENSOR WAS NOT REPLACED. THE APPROXIMATE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 55,000.

"DURANGO RECALL" MY DURANGO HAS DEVELOPED A LEAK OF A TRANSLUCENT/LIGHT GREEN SUBSTANCE. ONE SHOP INITIALLY DIAGNOSED IT AS A POWER STEERING LEAK, BUT AFTER TAKING IT TO AAMCO, THEY RECOMMENDED A NEW RADIATOR. NOI ONE HAS WANTED TO TAKE OFF THE GRILL WITHOUT CHARGING ME HUNDREDS OF DOLLARS, AND SO IU DECIDED TO REVIEW COMPLAINTS OF OTHER DODGE/JEEP OWNERS ON YOUTUBE. AFTER SEVERAL HOURS OF RESEARCH AND DISCOVERING DOZENS OF OTHER CONSUMERS WITH THE SAME ISSUE AS MINE, I HAVE DETERMINED THE PROBLEM TO BE THE AC CONDENSER/TRANSMISSION COOLER UNIT. APPARENTLY, COOLANT WEEPS FROM THE UPPER RIGHT (AS YOU LOOK AT IT) OR FROM THE DRIVER'S SIDE IF YOU ARE IN THE CAR, AND THE OIL FROM THE CONDENSOR/COOLER THEN SATURATES THE POWER STEERING LINES , THUS GIVING RISE TO INITIAL FALSE DIAGNOSES. BASED ON THE FACT THAT MY POWER STEERING LEVELS HAVE NOT BEEN AFFECTED WHILE PUDDLES OF TRANSLUCENT/GREEN SUBSTANCE GATHERS IN MY DRIVEWAY AND OIL PANS, I AM CONFIDENT THE CONDENSER/COOLER UNIT IS DEFECTIVE AND OUT TO BE RECALLED IMMEDIATELY. I HAVE INCLUDED PHOTOS TO ILLUSTRATE THE PROBLEM.

THE TRANSFER CASE IN MY VEHICLE RECENTLY HAD AN ISSUE. THE INTERNAL CHAIN WOULD SLIP ON ACCELERATION AND THE RATE OF ACCELERATION WOULD BE LIMITED BY THIS EVENT. IT WOULD OCCUR ON MILD TO HARD ACCELERATION BUT SLOW ACCELERATION IT WAS NOT NOTICED OR DID NOT OCCUR. MY THEORY IS ON MILD TO HARD ACCELERATION MORE POWER IS TRANSFERRED TO THE FRONT WHEELS THUS PUTTING MORE ENERGY INTO THE FAILING CHAIN CAUSING THE SLIP. YOU COULD HEAR AND FEEL THE DEEP THUD/CLICKING NOISE AS THIS HAPPENED. BECAUSE IT LIMITED ACCELERATION THIS IS POTENTIALLY HAZARDOUS WHEN CROSSING FREEWAYS WITH CARS GOING 50-70 MPH AND YOU NEED TO MAKE A CROSSOVER. MY FAMILY DOES THIS DAILY. THE REPAIR WAS DELAYED BECAUSE THE MECHANIC COULD NOT OBTAIN THE PARTS. THE PART WAS NOT AVAILABLE FROM THE MOPAR DEALERSHIP NETWORK ANYWHERE. THE MECHANIC EVENTUALLY HAD TO LOCATE A USED PART, ARRANGE DELIVERY, AND REBUILD A FUNCTIONING TRANSFER CASE FROM MY OLD ONE AND THE SALVAGED PART. THE MECHANIC TOLD ME THAT THE TRANSFER CASE HAS A HIGH FAILURE RATE AND THAT IS WHY THE PART WAS DIFFICULT TO OBTAIN, THE COST WAS CONSIDERABLY MORE, AND THE REPAIR RAN SEVERAL EXTRA DAYS. HIS INITIAL ESTIMATE FOR THE REPAIR WAS $1600. THE FINAL BILL WAS $2500. THE VEHICLE WAS DELIVERED ON THE THURSDAY MORNING 8/17/17 WITH AN EXPECTED DIAGNOSIS BY THE END OF THE NEXT DAY. ON 8/18/17 THE EMPLOYEES TOLD ME ABOUT THE ISSUE WITH THE PART. THE VEHICLE WAS RETURNED ON 8/14/17 APPROXIMATELY 2 DAYS LONGER THAN EXPECTED BECAUSE OF THE PART AVAILABILITY.

ON AUGUST 19TH I WAS DRIVING WITH MY KIDS WHEN ALL OF A SUDDEN ALL THE WARNING LIGHTS ALONG WITH MY SEATBELT WARNING LIGHTS STARTED TO GO ON AND OFF. MY RADIO AND MY CONTROL PANEL STARTED TO TURN ON AND OFF ON ITS OWN. ALSO THE AC STOPPED WORKING, IT SOUNDED LIKE IT WAS RUNNING BUT NO AIR FLOW WOULD COME OUT. THEN I BEGAN TO HAVE NO ACCELERATION. WE RESEARCHED THAT THERE WILL BE A RECALL ON THE ALTERNATORS FOR MY 2011 DURANGO BUT BECAUSE NOTHING HAS BEEN RELEASED DODGE TOLD US WE ARE ON OUR OWN. THIS COULD HAVE CAUSED AN ACCIDENT AND I HAD NO WARNING ABOUT WHAT COULD HAPPEN. THIS IS A BIG SAFETY CONCERN ESPECIALLY WHEN THIS IS OUR FAMILY CAR AND MY KIDS ARE WITH ME IN THE VEHICLE.

MY VEHICLE WAS IN MOTION ON A CITY STREET WHEN IT COMPLETELY SHUT DOWN WITHOUT WARNING. THE ENGINE STALLED AND THERE WAS NO POWER TO THE VEHICLE WHATSOEVER. I WAS UNABLE TO STEER, BRAKE, PUT THE CAR IN NEUTRAL, ROLL DOWN WINDOWS, UNLOCK DOORS, OR HAVE MY HAZARD LIGHTS ON. I WAS BLOCKING TRAFFIC AND HAD NO WAY TO SIGNAL TO OTHER DRIVERS THAT MY VEHICLE WAS STALLED IN THE MIDDLE OF THE ROAD. AFTER HAVING IT TOWED TO THE DEALER, I WAS TOLD THE ALTERNATOR SHORTED OUT, WHICH IN TURN FRIED THE BATTERY AND POWERTRAIN MODULE. THE DEALER AGREED TO PAY TO REPLACE THE POWERTRAIN MODULE AT NO COST TO ME BUT THE REMAINING REPAIRS COST ME $1300. UPON DOING SOME RESEARCH I DISCOVERED THAT AS OF OCTOBER 2014 MORE THAN 435,000 VEHICLES WERE EFFECTED BY AN ALTERNATOR RECALL, INCLUDING CARS THE SAME MAKE, MODEL, AND YEAR AS MY OWN. I FOUND OTHER COMPLAINTS ONLINE OF OWNERS OF THE SAME TYPE OF CAR WHO EXPERIENCED A SIMILAR BREAKDOWN WHILE DRIVING AND THEY WERE TOLD THAT THE REPAIRS WOULD NOT BE COVERED. I CALLED CHRYSLER'S CUSTOMER SERVICE LINE AND THEY INVESTIGATED THE ISSUE BUT REFUSED TO PAY FOR THE WORK. HAVING A CAR STOP DRIVING WITHOUT WARNING WHILE IN TRAFFIC IS EXTREMELY DANGEROUS. KNOWING THERE ARE OTHER VEHICLES OUT THERE EXPERIENCING THE SAME ISSUE INDICATES TO ME THAT THE ALTERNATOR RECALL SHOULD BE EXTENDED TO INCLUDE ADDITIONAL CARS. I WOULD LIKE TO BE REIMBURSED FOR MY EXPENSES AND TO BE SURE THAT OTHER DRIVERS DO NOT EXPERIENCE THIS DANGEROUS SITUATION THAT COULD EASILY RESULT IN A VERY SERIOUS CAR CRASH.

ON AN INTERMITTENT, BUT REGULAR BASIS, THE VEHICLE (2011 DODGE DURANGO) STALLS WHEN SLOWING INTO A TURN OR APPROACHING A STOPLIGHT. ONCE THE VEHICLE STALLS, THE STEERING COLUMN LOCKS MAKING IT DIFFICULT TO TURN THE VEHICLE. THIS HAS RESULTED IN SEVERAL CLOSE CALLS WITH OTHER VEHICLES AND EVEN OBJECTS (CURBS, LIGHT POLES, ETC.) I USE THIS VEHICLE TO TRANSPORT MY CHILDREN ON A DAILY BASIS AND AM CONCERNED FOR THEIR SAFETY AS WELL AS MY OWN. WE HAVE TAKEN THE VEHICLE IN TO THE DEALERSHIP THAT IT WAS PURCHASED FROM (ARRIGO DODGE, CHRYSLER, JEEP RAM) IN WEST PALM BEACH FL. EIGHT (8) TIMES FOR THIS SAME PROBLEM. THEY HAVE REPLACED VARIOUS PARTS, AND EVEN BEEN ABLE TO RECREATE THE PROBLEM ONCE, HOWEVER, EVERY TIME WE GET THE VEHICLE BACK, WITHIN A FEW DAYS OR WEEKS IT STALLS AGAIN. THERE HAVE BEEN SEVERAL RECALLS ON THIS PARTICULAR VEHICLE, INCLUDING ONE FOR THE FUEL PUMP RELAY WITHIN THE TIPM-7 AND ONE FOR THE 160 AMP ALTERNATOR, BOTH OF WHICH CAN CAUSE THE VEHICLE TO STALL. I HAVE INCLUDED AS MANY OF THE APPLICABLE SERVICE REPORTS AS THE UPLOAD WILL ALLOW. THE DEALERSHIP STATED THAT THEY CONTACTED CHRYSLER AT ONE POINT, BUT DID NOT RECEIVE ANY ANSWERS AS TO HOW TO FIX THE PROBLEM.

OUR DURANGO HAS HAD MAJOR ISSUES SINCE THE DAY WE BOUGHT IT. WE HAVE NEARLY DIED IN THREE OCCASSIONS DUE TO MALFUNCTIONING OF THE VEHICLE FOR ISSUES THE MANUFACTURER WAS WELL AWARE OF AND DID NOT ADDRESS IN A TIMELY FASHION. WE HAVE SPENT THOUSANDS UPON THOUSANDS OF DOLLARS ON REPAIRS INCLUDING REPLACING THE TIPM, ALTENATOR (TWICE), BRAKE BOOSTER, #2 ENGINE CYLINDER, TRANSMISSION INTERCOOLER, AND DOZENS OF OTHER ISSUES. THERE IS CLEAR EVIDENCE DODGE KNEW AND CONTINUES TO KNOW OF MANY FAULTY LEAKING SEALS AND MISSING SEALS FOR THE TRANSMISSION AND AC CONDENSER, YET WILL NOT COVER THEM. WHEN WE TOOK THE VEHICLE IN TO THE DEALERSHIP BC IT WAS LEAKING FLUIDS AND THE TRANSMISSION WAS BUCKING AND KICKING. WHEN THEY EVALUATED IT, THEY FOUND A BAD ALTERNATOR ASSEMBLY AND A POWER STEERING LEAK PLUS A TRANSMISSION LEAK. (SEE ATTACHED INVOICE). SOME WAS COVERED UNDER WARRANTY (AS WE PREVIOUSLY PAID OUT OF POCKET OURSELVES TO REPLACE THE ALTERNATOR SO THERE WAS A WARRANTY ON IT) AND THE REST WAS NOT. AGAIN WE HAD TO FORK OUT MORE MONEY FOR KNOWN DEFECT ISSUES OF DODGE. THE BUCKING AND KICKING OCCURRED RANDOMLY WITHOUT NOTICE AS WE DROVE DOWN THE ROAD. THERE WERE ALSO ELECTRICAL OUTAGES RANDOMLY AS WELL AND PERIODS OF UNCONTROLLABLE ACCELERATION WITH NO CONTROL OF THE VEHICLE. ITS IMPORTANT TO NOTE: WE HAD NO ISSUES WITH THE AC AT ALL. IT WOULD RUN COLD AND ONLY HAVE ISSUES WHEN RANDOM ELECTRICAL OUTAGES OCCURRED.

THE DATE AND MILEAGE ABOVE ARE APPROXIMATIONS. I PURCHASED A 2011 DODGE DURANGO IN NOVEMBER OF 2012. WHEN I PURCHASED THE VEHICLE IT ONLY HAD ABOUT 24,000 MILES ON IT. I HAD TO STOP, PUT IT IN NEUTRAL, AND THEN PUT IT BACK IN DRIVE. IT DROVE FINE AFTER THAT, BUT I SHOULD NOT HAVE TO STOP MY VEHICLE ON A PUBLIC ROAD TO GET THE TRANSMISSION TO CHANGE GEARS. I SPENT $1300 TO REPLACE THE TIPM TO FIX 37 OUT OF THE 38 CODES, AND THEN ANOTHER $1300 FOR A NEW HEADLIGHT POWER MODULE (FOR THE LAST CODE) WHICH SHORTED OUT AND, PER THE MECHANIC, SHORTED OUT THE ORIGINAL TIPM (SINCE THEY ARE IN SERIES WITH NO PROTECTION BETWEEN). THE TIPM HOUSES ALL OF THESE POWER MODULES INTERNALLY, SO ONE BAD SHORT ON A SUBCOMPONENT CAN RUIN YOUR ENTIRE TIPM. THE RECALL ON THE FUEL PUMP POWER MODULE ADDS AN EXTERNAL COMPONENT FOR THIS SUBSYSTEM TO PROTECT IT FROM THESE TIPM FAILURES, BUT DOES NOT ADDRESS THE MAJOR TIPM SAFETY ISSUE! FROM RESEARCHING OTHER OWNERS' EXPERIENCES I WAS LUCKY THE ENTIRE VEHICLE DIDN'T SHUT DOWN ON ME WHILE DRIVING. THIS IS A MAJOR SAFETY ISSUE! UPON LEAVING WORK THE CAR FAILED TO START ON THREE ATTEMPTS, BUT EVENTUALLY STARTED. WHEN I STOPPED 15 MINUTES LATER THE CAR WOULD NOT START AGAIN. I PLACED ONE FOOT ON THE BRAKE AND I HIT THE ACCELERATOR AS I STARTED THE CAR AND IT WORKED. I DROVE HOME AND ATTEMPTED TO START IT AGAIN TO TAKE IT TO THE DEALERSHIP, BUT IT WOULD NOT START. AFTER SEVERAL ATTEMPTS IT FIRED UP, BUT BEGAN SHAKING REALLY HARD SIDE TO SIDE. I PUT IT IN DRIVE AND THE SHAKING WAS WORSE. I PUT IT BACK IN PARK AND THE CAR BEGAN SPUTTERING AND LURCHED FORWARD AS THE ENGINE SHUT DOWN. I WAS ABLE TO START IT A FEW MINUTES LATER AND DRIVE TO THE DEALERSHIP. SHE HAD TO UNBUCKLE AND LET ME IN. THE ELECTRICAL SYSTEM STILL HAS A MIND OF ITS OWN, STALLS IN ROAD AT DIFFERENT SPEEDS, ALSO WHILE DRIVING IT ACTS LIKE THE ENGINE IS SHUTTING OFF THEN IT COMES BACK, AND CONTINUES THIS PROCEDURE A FEW TIMES UNTIL IT FINALLY COMES BACK TO LIFE. 4LOW HAS NOT PROPERLY WORKED EVER, AND IS A DANGER WHEN IN AN EMERGENCY SITUATION, AND YOU NEED IT. THEY SAY THEY HAVE REDESIGNED THE 4LOW, EVIDENTIALLY THERE ARE PROBLEMS WITH IT. THE DEALERSHIP, SHEETS, SAYS THERE'S NOTHING WRONG WITH THE PART AGAIN.VEHICLE STARTS AND DIES, STALLS IN ROAD, ACTS LIKE IT'S GOING TO STALL AND COMES BACK, CONTROLS INSIDE VEHICLE DO WHATEVER THEY WANT TO DO WHEN THEY WANT TO. FRONT SIGNAL LIGHT KEEPS BLOWING, AND WILL NOT TAKE A BULB, IT BLOWS THEM OUT EVERY TIME, SO WHEN BLINKER IS TURNED ON THE FOG LIGHTS FLASH UP FRONT, LIKE HAZARD FLASHERS. THE BACK PASSENGER BULB HAS BEEN REPLACED MANY TIMES, AND FOR NOW THEY ARE THE ONLY SIGNALS WORKING, EXCEPT FOR THE ONES ON THE MIRRORS. FUEL PUMP STAYS ON SOMETIMES AFTER VEHICLE IS SHUT OFF. BASICALLY THE VEHICLE IS STILL A DANGER TO ANYONE INSIDE IT, AND TO ANYONE ON THE ROAD, DUE TO THE FACT THAT IT CAN CAUSE AN ACCIDENT AT ANY GIVEN TIME. THE VEHICLE LOCKED UP IN 4LOW/TOW-HAUL MODE, AND THEN THE ENTIRE TRANSMISSION LOCKED UP. HAD TO COME HOME APPROX. 1-2 MILES AT A VERY LOW SPEED, WITH HAZARD LIGHTS ON, AND THEN HAD TO COAST IN DRIVEWAY BECAUSE THE TRANSMISSION HAD NO GEARS, AND LOCKED UP. DODGE REALLY NEEDS TO RECALL THIS. IF THEY DESIGNED THIS VEHICLE CORRECTLY THE FIRST TIME NONE OF THE MAINTENANCE WOULD BE NECESSARY, AND WE WOULD NOT HAVE HAD TO CALL DODGE SO MANY TIMES. CAR STALLED OUT WHILE DRIVING 30 MPH, LOST POWER STEERING. NO CRASH, ROLLED TO A SAFE STOPPING AREA. CAR WAS TOWED TO DEALER. DEALER SAID THE CAR NEEDED NEW BATTERY. NEW BATTERY WAS INSTALLED BUT CHECK BATTERY LIGHT WAS STILL ON. AFTER MORE TESTING, DEALER SAID ALTERNATOR NEEDED TO BE REPLACED. NEW ALTERNATOR WAS INSTALLED, BUT BATTERY LIGHT WAS STILL ON. DEALER PUT CALLS TO CHRYSLER. CHRYSLER SAID POSSIBLE BAD NEW ALTERNATOR REPLACE WITH ANOTHER NEW ALTERNATOR SUGGESTED. NEW ALTERNATOR REPLACED BUT SAME THING STILL HAPPENED, CHECK BATTERY LIGHT STILL ON. AFTER MORE CALLS TO CHRYSLER, NEW PCM ( POWERTRAIN CONTROL MODULE) SUGGESTED TO BE INSTALLED. PCM WAS REPLACED AS WARRANTY PART, NO CHECK BATTERY LIGHT. TOTAL COST OF ABOUT $1,000.00 FOR OUT OF WARRANTY PARTS. WITH IN A WEEK CAR WAS NOT STARTING, WOULD CRANK BUT ENGINE WOULD NOT START OR IT WOULD START AND THEN STALL OUT, CAR WOULD FINALLY START AFTER 20 MINS. OF TRYING TO START CAR. THIS HAPPENED SEVERAL TIMES. TOOK CAR BACK TO DEALER. SOFTWARE UPDATE WAS DONE. STILL HAD STARTING ISSUES, AND RUNNING ISSUES. AFTER MORE CALLS TO CHRYSLER THEY NOW BELIEVE THE ISSUE IS A TIPM (TOTALLY INTEGRATED POWER MODULE). TIPM IS ON A NATIONAL BACK ORDER WITH NO KNOWN RELEASE/ EXPECTED AVAILABILITY DATE. CHRYSLER WILL WARRANTY THE TIPM PART. CAR NOW SITS AT THE DEALER FOR ALMOST 30 DAYS AND NO ONE HAS ANY ESTIMATE AS TO A FIX DATE. NOW WAITING ON A CASE MANAGER TO CONTACT ABOUT THIS ISSUE AND POSSIBLE RENTAL CAR AND REFUND FOR REPLACED PARTS. SENDING OFF PAPER WORK FOR LEMON LAW. TIPM=TOTALLY INTERGRATED POWER MODULE. THIS STOPS THE VEHICLE FROM CRANKING PROPERLY. IT KEEPS TURNING AND TURNING AFTER TRYING TO USE THE PUSH TO START, IT WILL CRANK, REV UP AND TURN RIGHT BACK OFF IF YOU USE THE KEY TO START IT, AND IT HAS ALREADY BEEN FLASHED WHICH DID NOT FIX THE ISSUE. I HAVE LEARNED FROM TWO DEALERSHIPS THAT THERE IS OVER 14,000 ON BACKORDER. THEY DO NOT HAVE A ETA AND THEY ARE TRYING TO GET CONSUMERS TO PAY FOR THE VEHICLES IF THEY DO NOT HAVE THE BASIC WARRANTY. I EVEN PURCHASED A EXTENDED WARRANTY AT THE POINT OF PURCHASE AND THEY STATED THAT IT IS NOT COVERED. THE COST FOR THE PART AND REPAIR THEY ARE TRYING TO CHARGE ME IS $1100. THE DEALERSHIP I WENT TO ADVISED ME TO CONTACT DODGE AT 1-800-423-6343 AND I SPOKE WITH SOMEONE WHOM STATED IT WAS COVERED, IT IS NOTED IN MY FILE 3 TIMES BY 3 DIFFERENT PEOPLE THAT IT IS COVERED AND THEN I CALLED THE DEALERSHIP TO SEE IF THEY KNEW WHEN THEY WOULD GET SOME TO GET ME ON A LIST AND THEY SAID IT IS NOT COVERED, HAD TO START ALL OVER AGAIN WITH SPEAKING WITH DODGE AT THE 1800 NUMBER AND GOING BACK AND FORTH. I HAVE ONLY HAD MY VEHICLE FOR 10 MONTHS AND OF COURSE IT WAS MORE THAN 20,000 WHICH MAKES ME LIVID THAT I WOULD EVEN HAVE CAR TROUBLE THIS EARLY IN THE LOAN. NOW FORWARD 6+ WEEKS AND OUR CAR IS STILL AT THE DEALERSHIP. APPARENTLY THE TIPM CHIP IS ON INDEFINITE BACK ORDER. BEING TOLD THAT BECAUSE WE'RE AT 37,104 MILES, THERE'S NOTHING CORPORATE CAN DO. SO THE VEHICLE IS STILL SITTING THERE AND THERE IS NO ETA ON WHEN WE'LL GET IT BACK.. TRIED TO BE PATIENT AND SUGGESTED A FREE RENTAL BUT WAS SHUT DOWN BY CORPORATE. AT MY WITS END.. MY 2011 DODGE DURANGO STALLED ONE DAY AT WORK WHEN I TRIED TO CRANK IT. IT TOOK 3 TIMES TO START THE ENGINE AND FINALLY IT CRANKED. LATER THAT WEEK WHILE DRIVING I NOTICE THE AIRBAG WARNING LIGHT CAME ON AND THEN WENT OFF MULTIPLE TIMES; IT CONTINUOUSLY DID THAT UNTIL ONE DAY IT STAYED ON AND NEVER WENT OFF. I TOOK IT TO GET IT CHECK AND NO CODES SHOWED. THEY STATED NOTHING WAS WRONG WITH IT. SO I KEPT DRIVING UNTIL I NOTICED A HUMMING NOISE COMING FROM UNDERNEATH THE REAR OF THE VEHICLE AND IT CONTINUOUSLY STALLED OR DIDN'T CRANK AND THAT'S WHEN I HAD TO HAVE MY HUSBAND JUMP IT OFF. THIS CONTINUED FOR A COUPLE OF WEEKS. I TOOK IT TO THE DEALERSHIP IN WHICH THE TOLD ME THE PCM MODULE WAS BAD BUT WHEN THEY TRIED TO PROGRAM IT, IT SHOWED THAT THE BATTERY WAS BAD SO I PURCHASED A NEW BATTERY. ONCE THEY COMPLETED IT THEY STATED THAT THEY STARTED THE DURANGO AND IT STARTED WITHOUT ANY ISSUE BUT WHEN MY HUSBAND AND I WENT TO PICK IT UP, IT STALLED AGAIN AND IT TOOK ABOUT 10 MINUTES TO GET IT STARTED. I DROVE IT FOR A FEW DAYS UNTIL ONE DAY I WENT TO THE STORE AND WHEN I CAME OUT OF THE STORE IT WOULD NOT START AT ALL SO I HAD TO GET IT TOWED TO THE DEALERSHIP, IT SAT THERE FOR ABOUT A WEEK UNTIL THEY FINALLY DIAGNOSED IT AS HAVING A BAD TIPM MODULE (TOTALLY INTEGRATED POWER MODULE).THE SERVICE REP AT THE DEALERSHIP STATED THAT THE TIPM MODULE IS ON BACKORDER (1352 AHEAD OF ME TO BE EXACT). THERE ARE LOTS OF REPORTS ON THE INTERNET ABOUT CHRYSLER VEHICLES HAVING A BAD TIPM. I THINK THERE SHOULD BE A RECALL ON IT. I PRESENTED MY CONCERNS TO CHRYSLER\DODGE ABOUT THIS AND THE ONLY THING I GOT WAS AN APOLOGY. PLEASE, PLEASE INVESTIGATE. I PURCHASED A 2011 DODGE DURANGO CREW V6 LAST YEAR AND I HAVE HAD NOTHING BUT PROBLEMS WITH IT. WHEN I ACCELERATE AT ANY SPEED, MY VEHICLE DOES NOT RESPOND. THE VEHICLE JUMPS AND WOULD SHIFT GEARS.
