I took my Durango to Albany ga to dodge dealership for recall on brake booster water shield repair plus the other recall they fixed one recall and say they can't fix brake booster recall cause they say they will not have part available til a year later which I have concerns about my safety of recall not being repaired for a whole year
I just got a 2012 dodge durango 08/13/2022 I looked up the recalls on it and just trying to get it ixed if possible
There is something definitely wrong with my car. I have just now seen a recall but it occurred before the car was sold to me and it had electric issues with break fail, electrical accessories were still on as the dash notified while the car was off. It has had the seats move the steering would lock, it doesn’t provide many of the features for safety. The GPS is always wrong. I took it to the dealer several times and was told that the factory resets were fine. I don’t think that is the case. Under the hood there seemed to be additional after factory tampering with additional wires that had been added into the car.
I RECENTLY PURCHASED A VEHICLE MARCH 2, 2021. I NOTICED THAT THE VEHICLE HAS 3 RECALLS. THE DEALER THAT I PURCHASED THE VEHICLE FROM DIDN'T HAVE ANY IMMEDIATE AVAILABILITY TO FIX THE VEHICLE. SO I MADE AN APPOINTMENT WITH DODGE DEALERSHIP. MY CAR WAS AT FACILITY 2 DAYS. ONCE I PICKED UP VEHICLE THEY INFORMED ME THEY COULDN'T FIX TWO OF THE RECALLS. JASON ( SERVICE GUY) INFORMED ME THAT HE WOULD UPDATE ME. WELL A MONTH LATTER HE TELLS ME THAT THE PARTS AREN'T THERE YET . CHRYSLER HASN'T RELEASED THE PARTS YET.
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2012 DODGE DURANGO. WHILE DRIVING 40 MPH OR HIGHER, THE VEHICLE TURNED OFF WHEN THE BRAKE PEDAL WAS DEPRESSED. IN ADDITION, ALL THE ELECTRICAL SYSTEMS DISENGAGED. THERE WERE NO WARNING INDICATORS ILLUMINATED. WHEN THE VEHICLE WAS RESTARTED, IT RESUMED NORMAL OPERATION. THE FAILURES OCCURRED INTERMITTENTLY. THE CONTACT CALLED PREMIER CHRYSLER (LOCATED AT 7301 ARTESIA BLVD, PUENA PARK, CA 90621, 714-528-5337), BUT THEY WERE UNABLE TO DETERMINE THE CAUSE OF THE FAILURES. THE MANUFACTURER WAS MADE AWARE OF THE FAILURES AND OPENED A CASE, WHICH HAD NOT BEEN RESOLVED. THE APPROXIMATE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 10,000.

WELL THERE'S SEVERAL ISSUES MAIN ONES BEING THE SELF ACCELERATIONS, NOT TO MENTION MAJOR FACTOR SCARY ONE IS MY VEHICLE GOES FROM P TO D WITHOUT MY FOOT ON THE BRAKE FOUND THIS OUT WHILE CAR WAS OFF MY 3YR OLD MOVED THE SHAFT FROM PARK TO NEUTRAL WHILE CLIMBING ACROSS TO ME AND CAR BEGAN TO ROLE.

DRIVING AT 35 MPH CAME TO A SLOW DOWN TO TURN VEHICLE SHUT OFF AND CAUSED ME TO GO INTO A DITCH AS NO BREAKS, NO STEERING, AND ALL POWER LOST. ONCE PUT INTO PARK STARTED BACK UP IMMEDIATELY. THIS IS THE SECOND TIME THAT HAS HAPPENED FIRST TIME WAS AT A STOP LIGHT AND I WAS ABOUT TO TAKE OFF. NO WARNING OR ANYTHING. THE FIRST TIME I DIDN'T HAVE MY KIDS IN THE CAR AND THE SECOND TIME I DID AND WE COULD HAVE BEEN EXTREMELY HURT. I IS NOT SHOWING ANY CODES TO LET US KNOW WHAT I COULD POSSIBLY BE.

BEGINNING IN DEC 2017, WE'VE HAD SPORADIC ISSUES WHILE DRIVING ON HIGHWAYS AND LOCAL ROADS WITH SOME PORTION OF THE ELECTRICAL SYSTEM. WHEN THIS HAPPENS, THE CENTER LCD DASH SCREEN POWERS OFF, AND WE LOSE POWER STEERING AND BRAKES. DASH LIGHTS, EXTERIOR LIGHTS, RADIO, A/C ALL STAY ON. TYPICALLY WE HAVE TO PULL OVER AND TURN THE CAR OFF & BACK ON FOR IT TO RETURN. FROM DEC-OCT, ITS HAPPENED APPROX 5-6 TIMES. THE DEALER WASN'T ABLE TO REPLICATE THE ISSUE FOR THE DAYS THEY HAD IT, AND NO ERROR CODES WERE WRITTEN. A FRIEND ALSO WITH A DURANGO DESCRIBED TO ME SIMILAR ISSUES WITH HIS, AND SAID HIS TIPM WAS FAULTY. WE HAVE LIFETIME WARRANTY, AND THE TIPM IS COVERED, BUT THEY REFUSE TO REPLACE IT UNTIL THE DEALER CAN REPLICATE THE ISSUE AND GET AN ERROR CODE POINTING TO THE TIPM. I BELIEVE BECAUSE WE LOSE POWER STEERING, THAT THIS IS A SERIOUS SAFETY HAZARD AND SHOULD BE REPLACED REGARDLESS.

THE BATTERY GETS DRAIN OUT WITHOUT WARNING IT HAPPENS ONCE OR TWICE A MONTH LATELY IT'S HAPPENING MORE OFTEN, MY TRUCK WON'T START EVEN IF THE DAY BEFORE WAS RUNNING BATTERY WAS CHECK AND IT'S FINE. CHECK ENGINE LIGHT IT'S ON NOW ONCE THE TRUCK DIDN'T WANT TO TURN ON. TOOK IT TO A MECHANIC AND HE SAID IT WAS A RELAY ISSUE. BRAKES ARE IN THE RECALL VIN CHECK LIST ALONG ONE OTHER RECALL. THE LIGHTS INSIDE TURN ON AND OFF AS WELL AS IF THERE IS A SHORT GOING ON WHILE IN DRIVING MODE IT FEELS LIKE THE TRUCK IS LOOSING POWER EVEN THOUGH IT HAS GAS. I'M AFRAID TO DRIVE IT.

REPAIRD BRAKE BOOSTER SHIELD IN 2016 UNDER RECALL P14 NHTSA 14V-154 AT THE DEALERSHIP, NO I HAVE THE SAME PROBLEM BECAUSE THE BOOSTER SHIELD WAS INSTALLED INCORECTLY AND THERE IS ANOTHER RECALL T59 BUT DEALER IS TRYING TO TELL ME LAST TIME T WAS N ALTERNATOR AND HAVING ME WAIT OVER A WEEK FOR APT TO FIX IT, TOTALLY IRRESPONSIBLE AND RIDICULOUS. I WAS GOING ABOUT 20MPH AND COULD NOT STOP THE CAR.

THE VEHICLE HAS BEEN HAVING A LOT OF TROUBLE THE PAST TWO MONTHS - STALLING, JUMPING, TROUBLE SHIFTING GEARS ON ITS OWN, SHUTTING OFF AT STOPS, HARD TO MAKE A SMOOTH TRANSITION INTO DIFFERENT SPEED LIMITS. I AM CONCERNED FOR MY SAFETY AND HAVE NOT HEARD OF WHEN THE PARTS WILL BE AVAILABLE.
BRAKE BOOSTER HAS A LEAK IN IT SOMEWHERE. WHEN THE VEHICLE FIRST STARTS UP, THERE IS NO BRAKING ASSIST, ONCE THE CAR RUNS FOR A FEW MINUTES THE PROBLEM GOES AWAY. IF THE CAR SITS FOR A WHILE, IT HAPPENS AGAIN ON STARTUP. I KNOW THERE WAS A RECALL IN A NUMBER OF 2012 DURANGOS FOR A FAULTY BRAKE BOOSTER AND THINK MAYBE IT SHOULD BE EXTENDED TO COVER THIS ONE AS WELL.

MY 2012 DODGE DURANGO HAD A BREAK BOOSTER FALILURE DUE TO CORROSION CAUSING BREAKS NOT TO WORK PROPERLY THERE IS A RECALL FOR 2011 THRU 2014 BUT THE DEALER SAYS MY VIN ISNT IN THE RECALL EVEN THOUGH ITS THE SAME PROBLEM AS THE RECALL

DRIVING ON A MAJOR HIGHWAY IN NJ ON 7/21/16 , ALL THE CAR WARNING LIGHTS WENT ON RANDOMLY AND UNEXPECTEDLY, WINDSHIELD WIPERS WENT ON ON THEIR OWN, RADIO SHUT OFF, ALL POWER WAS LOST AND CAR SHUT DOWN ALMOST IMMEDIATELY WITH LIMITED OR NO BRAKING OR STEERING POWER AND THE CAR WOULD NOT TURN ON ANY LONGER. I TRIED TO MAKE IT SAFELY TO THE SIDE OF THE ROAD (LEFT SHOULDER WAS THE CLOSEST) WITH BIG TRUCKS AND FAST MOVING CARS GOING BY. HAD IT TOWED TO AN AUTO BODY SHOP WHICH TOOK 2 DAYS TO DIAGNOSE THE PROBLEM WHICH THEY DEEMED A FAILURE OF THE MAIN BOARD WHICH CAUSED THE ALTERNATOR TO FAIL WHICH CAUSED THE BATTERY TO SEIZE AND FAIL AS WELL. THE COSTS OF REPAIR I HAD TO PAY TO FIX THE ISSUE ON MY 4 YEAR OLD CAR WITH 92K MILES ON IT WAS APPROX $1,500. THE SYMPTOMS AND DIAGNOSIS WERE ALMOST IDENTICAL TO THE P60 RECALL ISSUED BY CHRYLSER BUT WHEN I INQUIRED WITH CHRYSLER ABOUT GETTING MY VEHICLE COVERED UNDER THE RECALL AND REIMBURSED FOR THE COSTS OF REPAIR, THEY CLAIMED THAT THE RECALL DID NOT APPLY TO MY CAR BC IT IS 180 AMP VS 160 AMP (?) BUT IT IS VERY OBVIOUS AND CLEAR TO ME THAT WHAT HAPPENED TO MY CAR WAS EXACTLY THE SAME AS THE P60 RECALL. NOT TO MENTION IT WAS A VERY DANGEROUS SITUATION THAT I ENCOUNTERED WITH MY CAR STOPPING IN THE MIDDLE OF A BUSY HIGHWAY. IT COULD HAVE BEEN TRAGIC HAD I NOT BEEN ABLE TO NAVIGATE IT WELL. CHRYSLER IS BASICALLY REFUSING TO EXTEND THE RECALL TO MY VIN # AND NOT REIMBURSING MY REPAIR COSTS.

DRIVING ON INTERSTATE TAKING KIDS TO SCHOOL WHEN BRAKE LIGHT SUDDENLY CAME ON AND VEHICLE BRAKES WERE LIKE PUSHING A BRICK. HAD SOMEONE PICK UP THE KIDS AND TOOK TO LOCAL REPAIR SHOP I USE. THEY INFORMED ME THAT THE POWER BRAKE BOOSTER HAD WENT OUT AND WHEN THEY CALLED THE DEALERSHIP FOR A PART WAS TOLD IT WAS ON BACK ORDER NATIONALLY WITH NO ESTIMATE OF THE TIME TO TAKE TO GET THE PART IN STOCK. BEST GUESS WAS 3-6 MONTHS. NO MENTION THAT THE VEHICLE HAD A RECALL ON THE PART (P41). ITEM REPAIRED WITH A USED OEM PART FROM A LOW-MILEAGE DURANGO SINCE NO OTHER PART WAS AVAILABLE TO USE. I STILL HAVE THE DEFECTIVE PART THAT HAD TO BE REPLACED ALONG WITH DOCUMENTATION FROM REPAIR SHOP THAT IT WAS REQUIRED TO BE REPLACED. ON INTERSTATE AGAIN TODAY WITH KIDS IN VEHICLE AND SUDDENLY HAD NO ABILITY TO GO ABOVE 20 MPH AND PULLED OVER TO HAVE CAR TOWED TO DEALERSHIP. WAS TAKING IT IN FOR FUEL PUMP RELAY (R09) RECALL THIS MORNING ANYWAY. FUEL PUMP RELAY WAS REPAIRED. DEALERSHIP SAYS THE WHEELS LOCKED UP ON THEM AND RECOMMENDED REPLACING THE POWER BRAKE BOOSTER AND MASTER CYLINDER AT A COST OF $800 SINCE IT COULD BE RELATED TO PREVIOUS POWER BRAKE BOOSTER REPAIR DUE TO A USED PART REPLACEMENT. I ASKED IF THE PART WAS COVERED UNDER THE RECALL AND EXPLAINED EVERYTHING AND WAS TOLD THAT SINCE IT WAS DONE BY ANOTHER REPAIR SHOP AND A USED PART THAT THE RECALL DID NOT COVER THE PART AND IT WOULD BE OUT OF POCKET NOR COULD I RECOVER THE COST FROM THE PREVIOUS FIX EVEN THOUGHT THE PART WAS ON BACK ORDER. ASKED FOR CORPORATE CONTACT AND WAS GIVEN (800)992-1997. SPOKE WITH REPRESENTATIVE AND WAS TOLD I WOULD BE CALLED BACK. LATE AFTERNOON I CALLED AGAIN SINCE I WAS STILL WAITING FOR THE CALL BACK. I WAS TOLD THAT THE ENTIRE COST WOULD BE OUT OF POCKET AND THAT THE RECALL WOULD NOT COVER PART OR REIMBURSEMENT SINCE A NON-CHRYSLER MECHANIC PERFORMED THE WORK AND A USED PART WAS USED.

MY WIFE AND MOTHER-IN-LAW WHERE LEAVING THE HOUSE WHEN MY WIFE WENT TO USE THE BRAKES SHE HAD TO PRESS WITH TWO FEET TO GET THE BRAKES TO STOP THE CAR. SHE REPORTED HEARING AIR WHEN SHE DEPRESSED THE BRAKES. I SENT THE CAR TO DARCARS IN SILVER SPRING MD FOR THE RECALL AND I TOLD THEM WHAT HAD HAPPENED. THEY TOLD ME THE PROBLEM DID NOT OCCUR WHEN THEY TRIED IT AND DID THE BRAKE BOOSTER RECALL ON FEBRUARY 3RD. ON FEBRUARY 13 LEAVING THE HOUSE FOR WORK THE BRAKES WERE VERY HARD TO WORK TO GET THE CAR TO STOP. THE BRAKE BOOSTER HAD GONE OUT AGAIN. BOTH TIMES WERE WHEN THE TEMPERATURE OUTSIDE WAS WELL BELOW FREEZING. I AM DROPPING IT OFF TODAY AGAIN, MY PROBLEM IS IF THE BRAKES DON'T FAIL THEY WILL TRY TO GIVE THE CAR BACK TO ME AND FROM BEING TOLD IT HAD ALREADY HAD HAPPENED I WOULD THINK THEY WOULD KNOW THE BRAKE BOOSTER HAS BEEN DAMAGED AND WOULD HAVE CHANGED IT OUT INSTEAD OF PUTTING MYSELF AND FAMILY BACK INTO A CAR THAT IS NOT SAFE TO BE ON THE ROAD. *TR

I TOOK MY VEHICLE TO DON DAVIS AUTO GROUP IN ARLINGTON, TX ON SEPT 11, 2014 TO HAVE MY OIL CHANGE AND HAVE THE PART REPLACED FOR THE BRAKE BOOSTER RECALL AND WAS TOLD THAT THE BRAKE BOOSTER PART WASN'T IN. IT MENTIONED THAT I WOULD RECEIVE A CALL IN A COUPLE WEEKS ONCE THE PART COMES IN BUT NEVER GOT A CALL AND WAS TOLD THAT THEY HAVEN;T RECEIVED THE PART YET WHEN I CALLED BACK. I ALSO HAD ANOTHER RECALL BUT AND IT WAS NEVER LOOKED AT BY THE DEALER AFTER TAKING MY CAR THERE. *TR
STARTED MY TRUCK AND WHEN I WENT TO PUT IT INTO DRIVE UPON APPLYING THE BRAKE THE PEDAL WAS HARD AND WHEN I APPLIED PRESSURE THERE WAS A "HISSING" "AIR NOISE". I THOUGHT THAT MAYBE IT WAS JUST REALLY COLD OUT AND IT NEEDED TO WARM UP A BIT MORE, SO I PUMPED THE BRAKES AND IT SEEMED BETTER. DEFINITELY DIDN'T THINK THAT A TRUCK I HAVE HAD LESS THAN 3 YEARS WOULD HAVE ANY BRAKE ISSUES. WELL I WAS WRONG...WHEN GOING TO PULL OUT OF MY DRIVEWAY, WHICH IS ON A MAIN ROAD, I WENT TO APPLY THE BRAKE AND THE CAR WASN'T STOPPING. QUICKLY THINKING I PUSHED ON THE EMERGENCY BRAKE AND STOPPED MYSELF AND MY YOUNGER SON FROM ROLLING INTO TRAFFIC GOING WELL OVER 40MPH. IF I HAD NOT BEEN DOING UNDER 10MPH MY SON AND MYSELF WOULD HAVE BEEN SERIOUSLY INJURED AND POSSIBLY DEAD. THIS VEHICLE HAS 2 RECALLS ON IT. THE FIRST IS THE BRAKE BOOSTER. WE WERE TOLD WE WOULD BE NOTIFIED WHEN THE PART WAS AVAILABLE AFTER CALLING THE DEALER IN FEBRUARY OF 2014. IT WAS FIXED DEC 29, 2014. IN DEC OF 2014, WE RECEIVED ANOTHER RECALL NOTICE FOR THE ALTERNATOR, AND WERE TOLD PARTS WERE NOT AVAILABLE. ON DECEMBER 20TH, 2014, WE WERE LEAVING ON A FAMILY VACATION, LOADED AND READY TO GO WHEN THE VEHICLE FAILED. THE CAR WAS COMPLETELY DEAD AND WOULD NOT START. THE DEALER PICKED UP THE VEHICLE WHILE I LOADED MY FAMILY IN 2 DIFFERENT TRUCKS TO MAKE A 90 MILE DRIVE TO THE CRUISE TERMINAL WHERE WE PAID $55 TO PARK EACH TRUCK. I CAME BACK SUNDAY THE 28TH OF FEBRUARY AND THEY HAD NOT REPAIRED THE CAR, STATING THEY WANTED $90 LABOR TO REPLACE THE BATTERY AND $275 FOR A NEW BATTERY, WHICH WAS DAMAGED BY THE ALTERNATOR. DRIVING IN FREEZING WEATHER AT APPROXIMATELY 35-40 MPH. I WENT TO BRAKE, & BRAKES FELT HARD, PEDAL WOULD NOT DEPRESS COMPLETELY, & COMING TO S STOP WAS DIFFICULT & TOOK MORE TIME THAN USUAL. TOOK CAR TO AUTO SHOP NEARBY & THEY DIAGNOSED WITH FAILED BRAKE BOOSTER. HAD CAR TOWED TO CHRYSLER DEALER AS IT WAS DANGEROUS TO DRIVE DUE TO THE LOSS OF BRAKE POWER, IN WHICH IT REMAINED THERE FOR 3 WEEKS DUE TO BOOSTER PART "BEING ON BACK ORDER". SINCE THIS BOOSTER WAS ON BACK ORDER, I ASKED CHRYSLER IF THIS HAS BEEN A COMMON PROBLEM WITH DURANGOS & WAS TOLD NO. THEY TOLD ME THAT SINCE MY VEHICLE WAS OVER THE WARRANTY IN MILEAGE (APPROX 40,000), THE REPAIR WAS NOT COVERED, HOWEVER, THEY GAVE ME DISCOUNT. I'VE READ THE REPORTS & LETTERS ISSUED RELATING TO THIS RECALL IN WHICH THEY STATED THERE IS "NO LOSS IN BRAKING" HOWEVER, THIS WAS UNTRUE IN MY CASE. HAD I BEEN DRIVING ON HIGHWAY WHEN THIS OCCURRED, I WOULD HAVE BEEN IN TROUBLE WITH BRAKING, AS THERE WAS A DEFINITE DECREASE IN BRAKING BY APPROXIMATELY 50%. I CALLED CHRYSLER REGARDING REIMBURSEMENT FOR THIS RECALL, & CHRYSLER WILL NOT ISSUE A REFUND ON WHAT I PAID TO HAVE BRAKE BOOSTER REPLACED AT THIS TIME, STATING TO ME THAT "THIS RECALL DOESN'T AFFECT MY VEHICLE", WHEN IN FACT, THIS RECALL SHOULD HAVE OCCURRED SOONER THAN NOW TO KEEP ME SAFE. PULLING CAR OUT OF DRIVEWAY HEADING DOWN THE STREET. APPROACHING THE STOP SIGN ATTEMPTED TO BRAKE AND THE CAR HAD COMPLETE BRAKE FAILURE; THEREFORE, I WAITED UNTIL THE CAR ROLLED TO A STOP. TOOK THE CAR TO THE DODGE DEALERSHIP ADVISING WHAT TOOK PLACE. THEY INSPECTED THE CAR AND SAID THERE WERE NO ISSUES WITH THE CAR OR BRAKING SYSTEM. I WAS GIVEN BACK MY CAR AND I DROVE HOME, BRAKES WORKED. THE NEXT DAY, THE SAME ISSUE OCCURRED; I PULLED OUT OF MY DRIVEWAY HEADING DOWN THE STREET. APPROACHING THE STOP SIGN ATTEMPTED TO BRAKE AND AGAIN HAD COMPLETE BRAKE FAILURE. I TOOK THE CAR BACK TO THE DODGE DEALERSHIP, THEY INSPECTED AGAIN AND SAID MY MASTER CYLINDER WAS DEFECTED, ALONG WITH THE BRAKE POWER BOOSTER. THEY ADVISED ME THE PARTS WERE NOT BEING MANUFACTURED AT THIS TIME. I CONTACTED DODGE CORPORATION TO INQUIRE ON THIS MATTER, CONCERNED THAT THIS MAY BE A RECALL OR THAT THERE IS MAJOR ISSUE WITH DODGE DURANGO BRAKING SYSTEMS AND WAS TOLD BY [XXX] THAT THE PART WAS BEING MADE BUT DID NOT KNOW WHEN IT WOULD SHIP. SHE ALSO DID NOT HAVE ANY OTHER INFORMATION TO PROVIDE AS TO OTHER BRAKE ISSUES WITH DODGE DURANGO AND OR RECALL.
