The contact stated that an intermittent warning light for EVAP failure was illuminated. The contact performed an inspection of the vehicle and noticed that the fuel pump fuse was blown and had melted into the fuse box. The vehicle was not diagnosed or repaired by an independent mechanic or dealer. The contact referenced an unknown recall; however, the VIN was not under recall. The manufacturer was not made aware of the failure. The failure mileage was approximately 104,000.

Odometer Fraud. The contact purchased a 2014 Dodge Durango. The contact stated that while attempting to repair the vehicle, it was discovered that there was a mileage discrepancy. The vehicle was a dealer sale. At the time of purchase, the vehicle mileage was 76,173, and the vehicle warranty company informed the contact that it was discovered that the mileage displayed on the title was 92,500. Additionally, the contact retrieved the vehicle Carfax report and confirmed that the mileage was 92,500.

Odometer Fraud. The contact purchased a 2014 Dodge Durango. The contact stated that while attempting to insure the vehicle, it was discovered that there was a mileage discrepancy. The vehicle was a private sale. At the time of purchase, the vehicle mileage was 92,000 and at the time of the insurance registration, it was discovered that the mileage was 170,000.

The alternator failed, and my battery would not take a charge. Had scanner used and report showed faulty alternator. I was driving and went into a parking slot, when I put gear in park, all power went out. The it wouldn't turn on, occasionally lights would flicker on and off. Tried to jump start it several times but it wouldn't take. Finally got a jump, truck started but the couldn't change gears. I have not taken it yet to get it diagnosed. I truly feel this issue should be a recall as I had no warning whatsoever. My vehicle has no power, and is well maintained

The display on the instrument panel darkened and the vehicle unintentionally shifted into park and the vehicle failed to return to normal operation. The vehicle was not drivable and was towed to the residence. The contact researched online and became aware of NHTSA Campaign Number: 17V741000 (Electrical System); however, the VIN was not included. A dealer was not contacted. The contact self-diagnosed the vehicle and determined that the battery needed to be replaced. The vehicle was repaired; however, the failure reoccurred. The manufacturer was notified of the failure and referred the contact to the NHTSA Hotline to report the failure. The failure mileage was approximately 109,000.

While driving all sensors began flashing simultaneously. I took to mechanic and a few codes turned up. One for speed messages. One for can bus and the other was U0001. Took to dealership service and they had it for a week. After charging battery all sensors were cleared. Same day driving home all sensors came back on simultaneously. Car began making noises and driving in limp mode windshield wipers turned on by themselves. Took car to Firestone to check battery. They replaced battery. Sensors were still flashing all the way home but no other problems. Next day i lost power steering and ability to brake. Nearly crashing the Durango. I eventually was able to pull wheel and get to side of road. I tried to turn off engine,, but it would not turn off nor would the shifter allow me to shift to park. I sat in idle for a few moments and turned car off. I was near my home so drove home.. very difficult to steer. Then car sensors said to push clutch in . I have an automatic. It went crazy.
Driver side air conditioning blowing hot air when set to low temp. Passenger a d rear all blow cold.
Center hatch led strip light leak causing led to go out and back up camera to stop working. Causes hazardous conditions for backing up with camera not working and hazardous conditions while driving because don’t know if the short in few of led lights will cause all tail light/brake lights to short out also.
Rackin pinion, does not through engine light when issues arise, jerking, Lumbar in drivers set stop working, 120v outlet came out, water in back lumanis lamps, radio and all dash components do things on its own.

Durango has HID headlights. Sometimes one or both headlights do not come on. It is not the headlight bulbs. This is an intermittent problem. Sometimes left doesn't light and sometimes right doesn't light. Safety of driving at night to my family and anyone else on the road is compromised! Many reports of this same problem on cars and trucks with HID headlights. The problem has been reproduced at dealer.

Replace oil filter housing and sensor 3 times on vehicle within 2 years. This was completed twice at the dealership and once at a body shop. Driver side window motor control Button fell off and inside Spring broke.
Service airbag system, service antilock brakes, service transmission, service shifter suddenly appear. Ater pulling over and turning it off the car went dead. Just spent $1500 for a new computer and two days later I have service airbag system. I have videos of the chaos. If this car is in an accident the airbags will not go off and passengers will be unprotected. The electrical issues in this car are beyond comprehension. Chrysler needs to take responsibility before it causes a catastrophic injury. The behavior of this vehicle is unacceptable and unsafe.
My 2014 dodge durango brake lights stay on while in park, can shift into park without pressing the break in, and can start without pressing break.
Internal failure of catalytic converter and body control module
Rear racetrack lighting fills with water. Could short out causing fire or no lights. Have had replaced in 2017. Now water leaking again. Common issue when searched for. Called dealers said dodge warranty has not been covering issue now. Have max care coverage.
Vehicle battery dies due to lights staying on after shutting vehicle off, i have been jump starting it so i can drive it but lately the car is acting up and turn off on me while driving on the freeway. I have read online that some dodge vehicle have te same issue related to the body control module.
Wife coming home from work around midnight on 03/24/2022. 2014 Durango suddenly started to not respond to throttle, and dash showed low voltage and stop running. After jumpstarting Durango shows only 10v on display and confirmed with voltmeter at alternator. entered my vin for recalls and it shows none open. She had just turned off major a major 4 lane state hwy and that is when it died. If it had died in middle of turn she would have been in a major accident. Durango was driven at 10 mph due to engine derating, with no light on and all acc turned off made it home lucky to have only been 1 mile from home and on neighborhood street. Inspection will have to be done at my home, Durango will not start. Cant afford tow bill I am on Disability and a fixed income. Low voltage light came on just as she crossed two lanes of traffic and stared on neighborhood street. This car is used to take me to doctors appointments at my Heart Specialist, wife to work and daily driver. Durango has 153000 miles. This is the first time it has happened
My 2014 Dodge Durango SXT RWD alternator stopped working. Was on the way home on 03/24/2022 that night and was driving on 4 lane state hwy. when all of a sudden it started to cut out and the low voltage light appeared on display. I had no choice but to stop in the turning lane right before it quit running. Tried to restart and it just clicked, and dash display disappeared. Had to engage park override and manually push Durango across two lanes of oncoming traffic, luckily two men stopped to help me push it and helped stop traffic so we would not have to stop when we got it rolling. once we had it on side street I tried to restart once again, and it just clicked. Used a battery booster box to jumpstart it and with box on it would run, with box taken off it would run till battery lost voltage and engine will stop running. Luck I was only about 2 miles from my home and the men who stopped and helped pull me the rest of the way home using a tow strap. The Durango is in my driveway and will not start and run to take anywhere to be diagnosed. Dodge told me if the vin didn't show a recall, I'd have to pay the tow bill up front and if it did turn out to be a defective alternator, I can send the tow bill in for reimbursement. (I am Disabled and can't afford a tow truck to tow it 15 miles to nearest dealership.) The only time any warning lamps came on was just before it stopped running as I was getting in turn lane. Durango has run fine Purchased 01/19/2022 and second owner and have put only 2400 miles on it since I got it. Even took to North Central Arkansas and back to Odessa Tx in late Jan 2022 with no issues. This Alternator Part# 04801779AG was in a recall for the 2014 Durangos with a 3.6l engine recall # 14v-634 and was revised with 17v-741 I am attaching a pic of alternator part number that is still on My Durango. This s my only vehicle and use it to make Heart Specialist appointments and run earns as needed, so can't be without it very long.
2014 Dodge Durango R/T- water pooled in the drivers side rear light, causing the LED's to short out. I called the dealership and it is well over a thousand dollars to replace this. Currently only operating with the passenger side light which is a huge problem in the state of MI. No warning lamps appeared... I noticed it after a car wash.

In October 2014, a recall was called for some 2014 Dodge Durangos and Jeep Grand Cherokees because a electrical issue where the air bag light intermittently comes on and turns off repeatedly. My vehicle was not included but it is having the same issue which almost seems like a short in wiring. This is an issue that widely discussed in the Durango chat as other people are told as well that their 2014 is not included but they have the same issue.
Randomly car will flash shifter issue, brake issues, no bus, and many others. Wipers will then turn on and will go off by beeping horn. Then dash goes black. Sometimes during these frequent episodes transmission won’t shift out of low gear. Turn car off and it’s dead. Randomly restarts and acts normal for a bit. A month ago fuel pump went and paid $800 to repair. Been happening for a year. Today car is dead in driveway but randomly wipers began moving. Beep horn turns wipers off. This car is not right. Chrysler needs to be accountable and recall the TIPM box in these vehicle.
Fuel pump relay not working
Screen on center console gets extremely hot to the touch when car is running. Purchased the car 10 days ago and reported the issue to the dealer we purchased it from. Dealer arranged for the car to be taken in to one of their authorized dealers in the auto nation group which is closer to our home. Dealer was able to duplicate and stated the temperature registered at 120 degrees on the console and recommended replacing the head unit. This unit is overheating and causing the radio to short along with other buttons on the display to not work when pressed. Dealer we purchased from said they would take care of the issue then turned around and said the limited warranty will not cover this. This is extremely dangerous and could catch fire.
I am having starting issues, combined with stalling when it full power or even partial. I reviewed the recalls that were listed for this era vehicle. And it lines up with the fuel relay or fuse I can't remember which one it was that was happening on similar makes models and this year. I believe this should be involved in that recall, but it's not showing that it is.
The “service shifter” warning comes on and the gears begin to change on their own. This happen out of the blue and while driving the vehicle. Other dash board issues then come on and the car begins to say to service just about everything and then turns off the dash.
I was getting in the driver seat of my parked car. Prior to getting in I heard a loud thud that sounded like a spring released. The headrest safety feature had deployed. Again the car was parked and not in motion.
The shift lock mechanism failed to function allowing my vehicle to randomly shift from park to drive causing the vehicle to roll forward into another vehicle
1st ALL of the interior lights won’t turn off no matter what you do. Doors all closed locked still stay on while driving can’t manually switch them off 2nd yesterday I went to pick up my daughter at school and the car all of a sudden just stopped running. It won’t start. Before it would do that and I had to exit the vehicle and use the remote start. Tried it this time and it said fob deactivated and just beeped. Then the alarm went off and wouldn’t turn off. When the alarm finally stopped the radio turned on for no reason but the car still won’t start. Fob has a new battery still won’t start. This car isn’t even old and only has 60,000 miles on it. Lucky I was pulling over and parking I could have died. Apparently this is a known issue it had to happen to me for me to find out about it. You’ll do a recall for cruise control but not this!!!’ Crazy this car is a defective death trap. It’s sitting on the curb in front of the house now since I had to have it towed home. I’m NOT driving it ever again.
THE VEHICLE WAS PARKED IN MY DRIVEWAY AND HAD NOT BEEN USED SINCE 10PM THE NIGHT BEFORE. AT 7AM I NOTICED SMOKE COMING FROM THE BACK OF THE VEHICLE AS I LOOKED OUT MY WINDOW. I WENT OUT AND THERE WAS A SMALL FLAME UNDER THE BUMPER NEAR THE EXHAUST PIPE ALSO SOME WIRES SEEMED TO BE ON FIRE. I WENT TO GET A HOSE, AND WHEN I RETURNED THERE WERE FLAMES ERUPTING UP NEAR THE TAIL LIGHT. A NEIGHBOR PUT OUT THE FIRE WITH A DRY CHEMICAL EXTINGUISHER. I CALLED THE FIRE DEPARTMENT, AND THEY SAID THEY HAD NO IDEA WHAT COULD'VE HAPPENED, BUT SUSPECTED AN ELECTRICAL SHORT. I AM TAKING TO THE DEALER TO UNDERSTAND.

WHILE DRIVING MY VEHICLE AT 60 MPH MY LIGHTS STARTED TO FLICKER ON AND OFF. EVENTUALLY THEY STOPPED BUT THE DRIVER SIDE HEADLIGHT HAD NEVER CAME BACK ON. I REPLACED THE BULB AND STILL NOTHING. BEING ON THE HIGHWAYS I FELT I WAS CAUSING DISTRACTIONS TO OTHER DRIVERS FROM MY HEADLIGHTS MALFUNCTIONING AND PUTTING MYSELF IN DANGER WITHOUT HAVING THE PROPER LIGHTING TO DRIVE SAFELY.

YESTERDAY WHEN ATTEMPTING TO START MY DURANGO, IT TURNED OVER BUT DID NOT START. AS THIS IS THE 5TH TIME, I ALREADY KNEW WHAT THE PROBLEM WAS. I CHECKED THE FUSE FOR THE FUEL PUMP AND REPLACED IT. IT STARTED BACK UP FINE. ALTHOUGH THIS TIME, THIS PUT MY FAMILY AND I IN A VERY DANGEROUS SITUATION. WHEN DRIVING THROUGH A RAILROAD CROSSING, THE VEHICLE DIED ON ME. MOMENTS LATER THE BARRICADES CAME DOWN AND I JUMPED OUT QUICKLY TO PUSH THE VEHICLE WHILE MY WIFE AND KIDS WERE INSIDE. I MANAGED TO GET THEM OUT OF HARMS WAY BEFORE THE TRAIN ARRIVED. CHRYSLER NEEDS TO RECALL THIS PROBLEM, LIKE THE 2011-2013 VEHICLES THAT ARE EXPERIENCING FUEL PUMP RELAY SWITCH. OBVIOUSLY 2014 MODELS ARE AFFECTED.

INTERMITTENT NO START CONDITION/START AND SHUT OFF AT ANY TIME WHICH STARTED AFTER VEHICLE TAKEN TO DEALER TO COMPLETE TRANS COOLER CONDENSER/MOTOR MOUNTS/RADIO REPLACEMENT. CAN HAPPEN AT COLD START OR AFTER VEHICLE HAS BEEN DRIVEN. THIS HAS HAPPENED 6 TIMES IN A COURSE OF ALMOST 3 MONTHS. VEHICLE TAKEN TO SCOTT ROBINSON DODGE IN TORRANCE, CA 3 TIMES FOR THIS ISSUE AND THEY ARE UNABLE TO PROPERLY DIAGNOSE AND REPAIR. HAD ME REPLACE BATTERY AND STARTER. CONDITION STILL EXISTS. DEALER IS PLAYING GUESSING GAMES WITH THE REPAIRS NEEDED FOR MY VEHICLE. I ASKED DEALER TO CHECK FUSES AND WIRES TO TIPM. I BELIEVE MY VEHICLE IS BEING AFFECTED BY THE NHTSA CAMPAIGN NUMBER: 19V813000 AND OTHERS WHICH AFFECTED 2011-2013 DURANGO'S. OTHER 2014 DURANGO OWNERS HAVE COMPLAINED OF A SIMILAR EXPERIENCE. A RANDOM NO START/STALL CONDITION IS VERY CONCERNING SINCE THAT INCREASES MY CHANCES OF A STALL, CRASH AND BEING STRANDED. MULTIPLE TIMES I HAVE HAD MY CHILDREN IN THE CAR SCARED BECAUSE THE VEHICLE WILL NOT START. IF THE DEALER IS UNABLE TO DIAGNOSE AND COMPLETE REPAIRS, THEN WHO CAN?? I HAVE YOUNG CHILDREN AND THIS IS MY ONLY MODE OF TRANSPORTATION. I AM WITHOUT A VEHICLE AND NO LOANER GIVEN BY THE DEALER. IF IT WEREN'T FOR COVID, I'D REALLY BE OUT OF LUCK WITH NO OTHER MEANS OF TRANSPORTATION. CHRYSLER NEEDS REVIEW AND EXPAND THE CURRENT RECALLS TO INCLUDE 2014 MODELS OR MAYBE A NEW ISSUE NEEDS TO BE IDENTIFIED AND BROUGHT TO LIGHT. VEHICLE ISSUE STARTED 09/05/20 AND HAS CONTINUED SINCE. SUV TAKEN TO DEALER 10/09/20, 10/21/20 & 11/04/20 FOR ISSUE. THEY ALSO ADVISED ON MY 10/21/20 VISIT THAT MY EXHAUST MANIFOLD BOLTS ARE BROKEN WHICH IS CAUSING A TICKING NOISE AT START UP. THIS WAS NEVER DIAGNOSED AT PREVIOUS VISITS AND NOISE HAS BEEN THERE. I HAVE ATTACHED A MORE COMPREHENSIVE REPORT.

THE RACETRACK TAILGATE LIGHT LEAKS AND A LARGE AMOUNT OF WATER GETS INSIDE AFTER ANYTIME ITS LEFT IN THE RAIN, OR AFTER A CAR WASH. THIS WILL BUILD UP AND CAUSE A SHORT. THIS ALSO FREEZES IN THE WINTER AND WILL EVENTUALLY CRACK THE ENTIRE EXPENSIVE TAILGATE LIGHT. THIS RACETRACK LIGHT NEEDS TO BE REPLACED.
2014 DODGE DURANGO - THE MAIN CONTROL PANEL IN THE CAR FREEZES WHICH RESULTS IN THE BACK UP CAMERA DOES NOT TURN ON, NOT BEING ABLE TO ADJUST THE VOLUME OF THE SYSTEM, NOT BEING ABLE TO ADJUST THE CLIMATE CONTROLS, AND THE NAVIGATION FREEZES. THIS CAN HAPPEN EITHER WHICH THE VEHICLE IS STATIONARY OR WHILE RUNNING. WE TOOK THE CAR TO THE DEALER WHO TOLD US MULTIPLE PEOPLE HAVE COMPLAINED ABOUT THIS AFTER ONE OF THE RECALL SOFTWARE UPDATES THAT WAS ISSUED AND THEY ASSUMED A FUTURE SOFTWARE UPDATE WOULD FIX THE ISSUE. IT HAS BEEN AT LEAST 3 YEARS AND NO UPDATES HAVE FIXED THE PROBLEM.
SO THE FIRST TIME I COULDN'T FIGURE OUT WHAT WAS WRONG WITH MY DURANGO. I ATTEMPTED TO START THE DURANGO AND IT JUST KEPT TURNING BUT WOULD NOT START. AT FIRST I THOUGH IT WAS MY FUEL PUMP. THEN I LOOKED AT THE FUSE AND THE FUEL PUMP MOTOR FUSE WAS A LITTLE BROWN ON THE PIN. SO I REPLACED IT WITH THE HORN FUSE 20A AND I WHEN I TURNED IT TO THE ON POSITION I COULD HEAR THE FUEL PUMP. DURING THE SECOND TIME THIS HAPPENED I WAS I A HURRY TO WORK. I GOT MY KIDS IN TO DROP THEM OFF AND I GOT AND AND TRIED STARTING IT. SAME THING IT JUST KEEP TURNING BUT NO START. I CHECK THE FUSE AGAIN AND THE FUSE IS REALLY BURNT BUT NOT BLOWN. SO I WAIT FOR MY WIFE TO GET HOME SO I CAN BUY ANOTHER 20A FUSE. I REPLACE THE 20A FUSE AND IT STARTS. THIRD TIME THIS HAPPENED YESTERDAY 6-30-20. I CHECKED THE FUSE AND THE FUSE STILL LOOKS GOOD. DID MY RESEARCH AND FOUND OUT PREVIOUS DODGE DURANGOS HAVE BEEN RECALLED WITH BAD PUEL PUMP RELAY SWITCH FAILURE. NOW MY DURANGO SITS OUTSIDE BECAUSE IT WONT START. THE BAD RELAY SWITCH IS SOMETHING THAT NEEDS TO BE LOOKED AT WITH NEWER VEHICLES. I'VE NOTICED OTHER 2014 OWNERS ARE EXPERIENCING THIS.

JULY 14, 2019 - WHILE THE DODGE DURANGO IS IN MOTION, THE DASH DISPLAY SUDDENLY WENT BLANK, VARIOUS SENSOR LIGHTS TURNED ON, TRANSMISSION GEAR WOULD NOT SHIFT, AND THE WIPER BLADES INTERMITTENTLY TURNED ON. SIMILARLY PROBLEM WAS EXPERIENCED IN MAY 2019, WHEN THE REPAIR SHOP IDENTIFIED AND REPLACED A FAULTY BCM (BODY CONTROL MODULE). I TOOK THE VEHICLE TO A LOCAL DODGE DEALERSHIP ABOUT A MONTH ( JUNE 2019), FOR THE SAME PROBLEM AND THE DEALERSHIP IDENTIFIED THE WIRING HARNESS TO BE FAULTY. AFTER SOME DIAGNOSIS, THE DEALERSHIP RESET THE CODES, ASKED ME TO DRIVE THE VEHICLE SOME MORE TO SEE IF THE PROBLEM REOCCURS. IT HAS BEEN A MONTH SINCE I TOOK THE VEHICLE TO THE DEALERSHIP AND THE PROBLEM HAS REOCCURED SEVERAL TIMES. I FEEL THIS IS A REAL SAFETY ISSUES ESPECIALLY WHEN I HAVE MY KIDS IN THE CAR AND THE ELECTRICAL ISSUES ARISES WHILE THE VEHICLE IS IN MOTION. THIS RACETRACK DESIGN TAIL LIGHT SYSTEM IS A TERRIBLE DESIGN AND A DANGEROUS ONE.
THE BACKUP LIGHT ASSEMBLY IS THIS VEHICLE FILLS WITH WATER DURING RAIN OR CAR WASHES, SPEED IS IRELEVANT. THE WATER SHORTS OUT THE LED LIGHTS, CAUSING THEM TO FAIL. THE ASSEMBLY IS SUPPOSED TO BE WATER TIGHT, THEREFOR THERE IS NO WAY FOR THE WATER IT COLLECTS TO DRAIN. THEREFORE, THE METAL COMPONENTS OF THIS ASSEMBLY ARE ALSO BEGINNING TO RUST DUE TO THE PERSISTENT PRESENCE OF WATER. REPLACING THIS FAILED ASSEMBLY COSTS $1,300. THIS COMPONENT SHOULD CONTINUE TO BE WATER TIGHT ON WELL MAINTAINED VEHICLES, SUCH AS MINE. THIS FAILURE FEELS LIKE A FLAW IN THE DESIGN OF THE ORIGINAL PART. DODGE SHOULD REPLACE THESE FAILED ASSEMBLIES AT A MUCH MORE REASONABLE PRICE, OR FREE OF CHARGE, DUE TO THE FACT THAT THE COMPONENT IS DESIGNED TO LAST THE LIFE OF THE VEHICLE, AND CERTAINLY ISN'T FOR ME AND MANY OTHERS.

APPROXIMATELY 30 MINUTES LATER, VEHICLE WOULD NOT TURN ON. TRIED TO TURN VEHICLE ON AND IT WOULD TURN ITSELF OFF WITHOUT TRYING TO START.

THE ONLY FIX FOR THIS IS TO REPLACE THE ENTIRE LED UNIT AT A COST OF OVER $1000 WHICH THE VEHICLE OWNER MUST PAY FOR. THE REPLACEMENT OF THE LED LIGHT DOES NOT FIX THE LEAKING ISSUE ALLOWING FOR THE LIGHT TO BURN OUT AGAIN.

REAR LIFT GATE TAILIGHT HAS WATER IN IT FOR THE SECOND TIME IN TWO YEARS. THE ENTIRE LIGHT ASSEMBLY WAS REPLACED IN DEC 2016 AND HERE IS IS JUST OVER A YEAR LATER AND THE REPLACEMENT LIGHT THAT WAS REPLACED BY A CERTIFIED DODGE DEALER AND THE GASKET HAS FAILED AGAIN.

FOR 2 YEARS WE HAD ISSUES WITH WORN INNER WALLS IN FRONT & STEERING SHAKE. WE BROUGHT IT IN WITH EXTENDED WARRANTY ALONG WITH VIDEO OF NOISE FROM SELF DIAGNOSTIC. OUR CONCERNS WERE DISMISSED BY DEALERSHIP & ANOTHER AUTOMOTIVE SHOP INFORMED ME THAT BOTH FRONT HUBS WERE BAD. CALLED DEALERSHIP AGAIN & SAME DISMISSAL. WE CHANGED BOTH HUBS AT OUR OWN EXPENSE AND PROBLEM FIXED. BUSHING WAS MAKING HORRENDOUS NOISE AND ALSO DISMISSED BY DEALERSHIP. CHANGED THAT ON OUR OWN EXPENSE AND ISSUE SOLVED. ALTERNATOR WAS SUPPOSEDLY CHANGED DUE TO RECALL BY DEALERSHIP & AFTER INSPECTING IT, WE HAVE BOTH AGREED THAT THE ALTERNATOR HASN'T BEEN TOUCHED. BOLTS SHOW NO SIGNS OF ANY TYPE OF TORQUE AND ALTERNATOR IS DUSTY AND DIRTY AS IS THE REST OF THE COMPONENTS IN ENGINE BAY WHICH ALSO LEAD US TO THE CONCLUSION. THIS VEHICLE WAS AND I BELIEVE STILL IS UNSAFE DUE TO RECALL CONCERNS AND THE LOCAL DEALERSHIP ABSOLUTELY REFUSES TO ACKNOWLEDGE ANY WRONG DOING. I WILL BE SEEKING FURTHER ACTION AGAINST THEM AND HOPE THIS DOESN'T CONTINUE TO HAPPEN TO OTHERS.

TEN MINUTES LATER STARTED THE TRUCK AND ALL THE SAME ITEMS (SEE ABOVE) FAILED.

I CALLED CHRYSLER TO FILE A COMPLAINT THAT SAME DAY AND THEY REQUESTED FOR THE VEHICLE TO BE DROPPED OFF AT A DODGE DEALERSHIP FOR INVESTIGATION. A MONTH AFTER THE INCIDENT I RECEIVE A LETTER FROM CHRYSLER STATING THAT NO ELECTRICAL PROBLEM WAS FOUND AND THE VEHICLES OPERATION MEETS CHRYSLER STANDARDS.

WHEN QUESTIONED THEY SAID THE ALTERNATOR PART WAS NOT IN (AFTER THE SERVICE MANAGER SAID BOTH PARTS WERE IN), AND THEY WOULD CALL ME WHEN THEY WERE IN. PURCHASED VEHICLE 31 DECEMBER 2013. ACTUALLY GOT VEHICLE ABOUT SIX DAYS LATER. ON 22 JANUARY 2014, I PUT THE VEHICLE IN PARK AT THE END OF MY DRIVEWAY SO I COULD CHECK THE MAIL. WHILE WALKING BACK TO THE VEHICLE FORM THE MAILBOX, THE VEHICLE STARTING BACKING UP A HILL ON ITS OWN. I HAD TO RUN NEXT TO THE VEHICLE, HANGING PARTIALLY INSIDE THE CAB, TO ATTEMPT TO SHUT OFF VEHICLE. VEHICLE WOULD NOT SHUT OFF. I HAD TO PUSH DOWN EMERGENCY BRAKE WITH MY HAND IN ORDER TO GET VEHICLE TO STOP. VEHICLE ALSO HAS USED ACTIVE BRAKING FEATURE AND THE ACTIVE BRAKING ALARM HAS SOUNDED TO INFORM ME THAT I WAS TOO CLOSE TO A VEHICLE, THOUGH THERE WAS NO VEHICLE IN SITE (THIS HAS HAPPENED 3 TIMES). VEHICLE RANDOMLY STARTS ON IT OWN. VEHICLE ALSO REMOTE STARTS ON ITS OWN. SOMETIMES THE VEHICLE STATES IT IS NOT IN PARK WHEN IT CLEARLY IS IN PARK. VEHICLE HAS WENT FROM PARK TO DRIVE ON ONE OCCASION AS WELL. THE VEHICLE BACK HATCH OPENED ON ITS OWN WHILE DRIVING DOWN THE HIGHWAY. MY BELONGINGS FELL OUT ALL IN ROAD. MY HUSBAND WAS DRIVING THE VEHICLE AT THE TIME. VEHICLE FAILS TO ACCELERATE CORRECTLY WHEN I PRESS THE GAS PEDAL INTERMITTENTLY, SOMETIMES FROM A STOP BUT USUALLY FROM A SLOW SPEED. THIS CAUSES OTHER DRIVERS TO COME CLOSE TO REAR ENDING ME BECAUSE I AM GOING SLOWER THAN THE SPEED OF TRAFFIC (BECAUSE MY FOOT IS DEPRESSING THE GAS PETAL BUT THE VEHICLE IS NOT REACTING). CHRYSLER HAS SENT AN INSPECTOR TO INSPECT THE VEHICLE, AND HE FOUND NOTHING. THIS VEHICLE HAS SERIOUS SAFETY ISSUES. I REPORTED THEM 3 WEEKS AFTER PURCHASING VEHICLE, BUT CHRYSLER WILL NOT BUY BACK VEHICLE. THEY HAVE IMPLEMENTED SAFETY FEATURES ON THE 2015 FOR SOME OF THESE EXACT SAME ISSUES, YET DENY THE ISSUES EXISTING. *TR

ON APPROX JULY 16TH MY CHECK LIGHT ENGINE CAME ON. THE CAR IS BRAND NEW WITH 3K MILES. I TOOK IT IN JULY 26TH TO THE DEALERSHIP WHERE I BOUGHT THE TRUCK AND WAS TOLD THE OIL PRESSURE SWITCH IS FAULTY, BUT THE PART IS ON BACK ORDER INDEFINITELY. THEY PROCEEDED TO TELL ME THAT THE CAR IS SAFE, BUT IF SOMETHING ELSE GOES WRONG I WON'T KNOW BECAUSE THE LIGHT IS ALREADY ON. THEY ALSO TOLD ME TO CALL CHRYSLER MYSELF, WHICH WAS EXTREMELY INSULTING AND DEALERSHIP TAKES NO RESPONSIBILITY. RELUCTANTLY, I DID CALL AND THAT TOO DOES NOT HELP. THE PART IS NOT AVAILABLE AND NOBODY CAN GIVE ME ANY ANSWERS. I DON'T BELIEVE CHRYSLER IS TAKING THIS LIABILITY SERIOUSLY AND PUTTING MY WHOLE FAMILY (WITH YOUNG KIDS INCLUDED) AT RISK. I FEEL LIKE THE WHOLE ELECTRICAL SYSTEM IS SLOWING DOWN AS RESPONSE TIME TO NAV, DOOR LOCKS, ETC. THIS CUSTOMER SERVICE EXPERIENCE HAS BEEN THE WORST I HAVE EVER SEEN. HOW CAN THEY LET ME DRIVE AROUND WITH A KNOWN RISK AND NO ANSWERS. GIVEN THE CHECK LIGHT ENGINE IS ON, SOME ADD'L FEATURES DON'T WORK (AUTO START, ETC). WHILE DRIVING AFTER LEAVING A STORE, THE VEHICLE SOUNDED A WARNING CHIME AND THEN ALL OF THE ELECTRICAL DISPLAYS ON THE DASH WENT DARK. THE VEHICLE DOWNSHIFTED INTO WHAT SEEMED 4TH GEAR FROM 8TH GEAR AND SUDDEN DECELERATION WAS NORED. THE WINDSHIELD WIPER TURNED ON AND THE CENTER RADIO/CLIMATE DISPLAY WOULD FLASH ON AND OFF. THE BRIEF MESSAGE THAT WAS DISPLAYED ON THE DASH BEFORE IT WENT OUT SAID SOMETHING TO THE EFFECT OF, "DO NOT CHANGE GEAR, DO NOT TURN OFF VEHICLE, DRIVE DIRECTLY TO DESTINATION, BY TURNING CAR OFF YOU MAY NOT BE ABLE TO START IT AGAIN". WE DROVE TO THE DEALERSHIP AND THEY RAN A DIAGNOSTIC WHERE THEY FOUND SEVERAL COMPUTER FAULTS. THE DEALER HAD THE VEHICLE A TOTAL OF 11 DAYS AND CHANGED THE BODY CONTROL MODULE. WE GOT THE VEHICLE BACK AND THREE DAYS LATER THE SAME THING HAPPENED AGAIN. WORRIED THAT IF THIS HAPPENED WHILE DRIVING DOWN THE INTERSTATE AT SPEED, THERE COULD BE A POSSIBLE LOSS OF CONTROL WITH THE SUDDEN DOWNSHIFT. *TR

SHE WAS ABLE TO SAFELY PULL TO THE SHOULDER. UPON FURTHER INSPECTION, THE VEHICLE RAN OUT OF FUEL. DESPITE THE FUEL GAUGE DISPLAYING "EMPTY" SHE STATED THAT NO AUDIBLE WARNING CHIME AND THAT THE "LOW FUEL" INDICATOR WAS NOT PROMINENTLY DISPLAYED (STATES THAT IT BLENDS IN WITH THE REST OF THE INFORMATION ON THE MULTIFUNCTION DISPLAY). *TR

HOWEVER, THE DEALER DID PERFORM A PCM UPDATE. TWO DAYS LATER, THE VEHICLE STALLED IN TRAFFIC. WHEN THE CONSUMER APPLIED THE ACCELERATOR PEDAL, THE VEHICLE MADE A STRANGE NOISE AND THE CHECK ENGINE LIGHT ILLUMINATED. SHE TURNED THE VEHICLE OFF AND BACK ON AGAIN, AND THE SOUND STOPPED, BUT THE CHECK ENGINE LIGHT REMAINED LIT. WHILE RETURNING TO THE DEALER, THE VEHICLE STALLED AGAIN. *JB
