The contact owns a 2011 Dodge Grand Caravan. The contact stated that while starting the vehicle, there was an abnormal whining sound coming from the engine. There was no warning light illuminated. The vehicle was taken to an independent mechanic where the water pump was replaced. The contact stated that several months later, while driving 65 MPH, the steering wheel seized without warning. The contact used excessive force to steer the vehicle to an independent mechanic, where a power steering flush was performed; however, the failure persisted. The mechanic replaced the steering pump, which seemed to correct the failure. The contact then stated that the whining sound returned without warning. The vehicle was taken back to an independent mechanic, where the contact was informed that the valves inside the engine connected to the fuel injector were defective and needed to be replaced. The contact stated that after the diagnostic tests, the vehicle failed to start up after several attempts. The manufacturer was notified of the failure and referred the contact to the NHTSA Hotline to file a complaint. The vehicle was not repaired. The failure mileage was approximately 130,000.

The contact owns a 2011 Dodge Grand Caravan. The contact stated that the engine turned over, but the vehicle failed to start. The contact became aware that the jumper ends were burned. There was no fuel entering the engine. The contact stated that the silicon on the relays needed to be replaced and the fuel pump had failed. Additionally, the driver's side window became inoperable. There were no warning lights illuminated. The contact called the local dealer, but the vehicle was not diagnosed or repaired. The contact stated that the failure was related to NHTSA Campaign Number: 19V813000 (Electrical System). The manufacturer was contacted and referred the contact to the NHTSA Hotline. The failure mileage was approximately 160,000.

Dealership still cannot pinpoint exactly what is wrong but the car does not start. One time it’ll start and the next it won’t. It’s actually left me stranded in the cold because that seems to be the only time it won’t start. It’s happened to many other grand caravan owners too. No mechanic I’ve taken it to can solve the problem I’ve spent so much money replacing parts on this car.
Vehicle randomly dies completely like no battery connected either while parked or in motion. Then after a few moments vehicle starts like nothing is wrong. No codes no warning.
This vehicle always fails to start in the colder weather. After a review of this condition. It has been found that the fuel pump relay does not send proper signal. This relay is a part of the Totally Integrated Power Module (TIPM). When it fails to operate, the vehicle will experience long crank times. With its ignition switch style, as soon as you turn the key, the vehicle will continue to crank UNLESS you manually turn the switch all the way back to the off position. This condition will cause the starter motor to overheat or burn up. Eventually the vehicle may start then die. Fuel delivery is too inconsistent when colder weather arises. You can't just replace a plug-in-style replacement fuel pump relay since it is a part of the whole TIPM. This vehicle has not yet died in traffic or on the highway thank God. There is never any CEL illumination or any stored fault codes. It started doing this the first winter I bought it. This is my second year and it's only just Fall and it is acting up again. This is a KNOWN issue among these TIPMs that are on more than just this vehicle but many other Dodge/Chryslers with this same TIPM. Someone needs to take accountability for a faulty product that needs redesigned before these issues continue to affect the consumers that trust in their product. I hope that this issue is addressed and resolved before others continue to complain about vehicle faults, or even worse experience any catastrophic conditions resulting in death of consumers based on this faulty TIPM, that controls most aspects of the whole vehicle.

There were several unknown warning lights illuminated on the instrument panel. The contact was able to veer to the side of the road, where he successfully restarted the vehicle. The vehicle was taken to an independent mechanic where it was diagnosed that the fuel pump needed to be replaced. The contact stated that after the vehicle had been repaired, the vehicle would fail to start intermittently, and would only start after several attempts. An unknown dealer was notified of the failure and informed the contact that there were no open recalls on the vehicle. The manufacturer was not notified of the failure. The vehicle was not repaired. The failure mileage was approximately 200,000. THE CONSUMER STATED THE VEHICLE WAS REPAIRED BY REPLACING THE INGNITION SWITCH. THE CONSUMER DISCOVERED AN IGNITION SWITCH RECALL THAT THE VEHICLE WAS NOT INCLUDED IN DUE TO THE MODEL YEAR. THE CONSUMER REQUESTED THAT THE VEHICLE BE INCLUDED IN THE RECALL, AS IT DISPLAYED THE SAME FAILURE DETAILED IN THE RECALL NOTICE.

My car was fine until one day in rain the whole dash and radio shut off and came back on repeatedly, spedometer bouncing each time. Took it to dealer/JDByrider and "they dont know prob/happens all the time" w a very "oh well" attitude. They did nothing. I called again when car ALSO started shutting completely off at long red lights. I was told next appt available would be 23 days! Thats still 4 days away. NOW in addition to dash/radio/spedometer problem the van doesnt just die at LONG lights, it dies if I have to stop for drive thrus, stop signs, short lights. The headlights have also started flickering very very badly. Im upset that repairs are supposed to be covered by JDByrider and theyve had me driving this dangerous car for almost a month before trying to fix it. Im not allowed to get work done on it elsewhere or else it makes future repairs on parts not covered by JDByrider. I have 4 kids and this car is not safe on road and Im literally not allowed to get someone else to fix it if I want it to continue to be covered by JDB. JDB blames Dodge. My car purchase was supposed to cover repairs and instead Im being forced to drive 4 kids around in car dealer cant fix and they claim Dodge dont know how to either. I should have never been expected to wait almost a month for this to be addressed.
Battery light turned on and vehicle immediately shut off. Got car jump to make it home and all electrical components went hay wire - all dash lights blinking - transmission wouldn’t not shit and accelerated by itself, headlights wouldn’t go on, windows wouldn’t go down. Dodge recalled every other car model in their line for a bad ALTERNATOR rapid failure, except Caravan, which should absolutely be included. It’s a know issue - car shouldn’t be dying while driving with under 100k miles.
I was driving on the highway and about to increase speed from 60mph to 65mph then the vehicle shut off. I lost power steering and ability to brake I was near an exit and was able to roll into a safe spot. Vehicle would crank but not start. I contacted AAA for tow service. When AAA arrived the vehicle started. I had it towed anyway. Since the incident the vehicle starts. I am afraid to drive. I had passengers with me that night and this vehicle (engine) failure could have resulted in multiple injuries or fatalities. I purchased this vehicle from a used car dealership in October of 2020. Within a week the vehicle broke down. It would crank but not start. The used dealership had the battery replaced then the TIPM and finally a bypass was performed on the fuel pump relay switch in December of 2020. I've had no issues of this nature since those repairs. Now I have another serious safety hazard issue.
purchased van no problem mechanic gave great review following week wouldnt start mechanic said tipm is bad we had tipm rep[laced already 3 times and now its bad again this time i was with my family when van completly shut off on highway doing 70 miles a hour we have to carry a jumper battery pack with us to start van i called crysler and they informed me there is no problems with my vans tipm well thats funny google has over 45 thousand articles about these problems and nobody does anything about it till people die

I WAS DRIVING ON THE ROAD AT ABOUT 30 MPH GOING STRAIGHT (WITH MY WIFE/KIDS) AND THE CAR JUST TURNED OFF COMPLETELY. THERE WAS NO ELECTRICAL, NO PROPULSION, POWER STEERING WENT OUT. THE ELECTRICAL BLINKED ON AND OFF A COUPLE TIMES LIKE IT WAS TRYING TO COME BACK ON BUT I HAD TO PULL OVER (LUCKILY WE WERE ON A RURAL ROAD) AND TURN THE CAR OFF AND BACK ON.

ENGINE LIGHT HAS BEEN ON FOR QUITE SOME TIME. DEALERS UNABLE TO LOCATE PROBLEM. THOUGHT IT WAS CAMSHAFT SENSOR, REPLACED AND SAME ISSUES. CHECK ENGINE LIGHT IS NOT ALWAYS ON, SEEMS TO COME ON AFTER EXTENDED DRIVING. ON HIGHWAY, WITH ENGINE LIGHT ON TRACTION LIGHT WILL COME ON AND THE I WILL NOT BE ABLE TO ACCELERATE PAST ABOUT 60 MPH EVEN WHEN PRESSING GAS TO FLOOR. ON HIGHWAY THIS IS VERY SCARY AND DANGEROUS. I SEE SIMILAR COMPLAINTS AND I AM FRUSTRATED THAT NO ONE CAN FIGURE OUT THE PROBLEM WITH MY VEHICLE. BEEN DEALING WITH THIS FOR ALMOST TWO YEARS.

I HAVE HEARD AND READ MANY ARTICLES THAT SAY THIS IS A COMMON ISSUE WITH THESE VEHICLES AND EVERYONE IS SURPRISED THAT THERE HAS NOT BEEN A RECALL TO REPAIR THIS ISSUE. AT THIS POINT, YOUR ONLY OPTION TO HAVE A RE-MANUFACTURED ENGINE INSTALLED WHICH CAN END UP COSTING MORE THAN YOU OWE ON THE CAR WHICH MANY PEOPLE CANNOT AFFORD. HOW CAN YOU ALLOW A VEHICLE TO HAVE THIS ISSUE AND NOT HAVE A SOLUTION TO FIX IT? THIS CODE APPEARED ON MARCH 2019 AFTER A WEEK OF PURCHASING THIS VEHICLE. I HAVE HAD MY VAN NOW FOR ABOUT 700 MILES, WE BOUGHT IT USED FROM A LOCAL DEALERSHIP. NOW, MY VEHICLE IS AT A DEALERSHIP WITH A TRANSMISSION THAT NEEDS TO BE REPLACED AND FAULTY O2 SENSORS THAT TOTAL BETWEEN $6,000 AND $7,000 WORTH OF WORK. DODGE ALSO KNOWS ABOUT BRAKE ISSUES THAT AFFECT THE SAFE OPERATION AND STOPPING OF THESE MODELS AND HAS YET TO REPAIR ANY OF THESE ISSUES.

APPARENTLY THIS IS A WIDELY KNOWN PROBLEMS WITH DODGE AND RELATED CHRYSLER VEHICLES ACCORDING TO OUR MECHANIC. BASICALLY THE TIPM--TOTALLY INTEGRATED POWER MODULE IS BAD AND THIS CAUSES AMONG OTHER SYMPTOMS: VEHICLE NOT STARTING, ISSUES WITH ELECTRIC CONTROLS(LIGHTING), ISSUES WITH FUEL SYSTEM(FUEL PUMP OR RELAY) OUR VEHICLE HAD ISSUES STARTING. ESPECIALLY DURING WINTERTIME THIS HAPPENED. AND HAVING REPLACED THE BATTERY NEW AND ALSO HAVING ENSURED SPARKPLUGS ARE NEW, THOSE ISSUES WERE RULED OUT. STARTER ISSUE ALSO WERE RULED OUT BOTH BY OBVSERVATION AND MECHANIC. THE VEHICLE CONTINUED TO HAVE DIFFICULTY AND INTERMITTENT SUCCESSES IN STARTING, UP TO THE POINT THAT IT DIDN'T START ANYMORE ON 12/10/2018. THE STARTER IS TURNING BUT ENGINE DOESN'T START. SO TOOK IT TO THE MECHANIC AND LEARNED THAT THE TIPM IS THE ISSUE. PRIOR TO IT TOTALLY FAILING TO START., IN THE PAST 4 MONTHS, THE VEHICLE HAD STALLED 4 TO 5 TIMES WHILE DRIVING IT ON THE THREAD GOING ABOUT 30 TO 40 MILES AN HOUR WITH TRAFFIC. I REALIZED THAT THIS IS A SAFETY ISSUE BECAUSE BASICALLY THE CAR STOPS ALL OF A SUDDEN WHILE DRIVING ON THE ROAD--WITH TRAFFIC. WHEN THIS FAILURE HAPPENS, APPARENTLY NO FUEL GOES INTO THE ENGINE THAT THE VEHICLE COMES TO A HALT. THERE IS NO POWER STEERING AND RADIO OR OTHER--AS IF THE POWER WAS JUST TOTALLY DISCONNECTED. LUCKILY WE WERE ABLE TO STEER THE VEHICLE TO THE SIDE OFF THE ROAD, USING ITS MOMENTUM. AND AFTER A COUPLE TIMES TURNING ABLE TO RESTART THE VEHICLE. AGAIN THE SUDDEN ENGINE STOPPAGE OCCURRED AROUND 5 TIMES AND I WAS ABLE TO RESTART IT AFTER A COUPLE OF TRIES. UNTIL THE VEHICLE WOULD NO LONGER START AT ALL FROM A PARKING LOT. THE REPAIRS COS $1300+ FOR THE TIPM WHICH HAD TO BE DEALER ORDERED AND REPROGRAMMED.

THEN THE VAN STARTED WITH A DIFFERENT KEY. DROVE IT FOR 4 MINUTES AND THEN PARK AND TURNED OFF THE CAR. WENT TO START IT AGAIN, IT KEPT STALLING. IT STALLED ABOUT 5 TIMES. WE SWITCHED BACK TO THE FIRST KEY THAT WOULD NOT START THE CAR. IT ACTUALLY STARTED TWICE. WE LEFT THE VAN WITH THE AUTO REPAIR PLACE. THEY STATED THERE WERE NO ISSUES WITH THE VAN. WE GOT IT BACK ON OCTOBER 18TH. IT HAS ONLY STARTED ONE TIME SINCE THEN THE FIRST TRY. IT HAS STALLED OCCASIONALLY SINCE THEN. ONCE ON OCT 21ST, THE BRAKING SYSTEM DID NOT ENGAGE WHILE THE VAN WAS BEING BACK OUT. ONCE BEFORE THE ISSUES STARTED TO HAPPEN, THE GAS PUMP DID NOT STOP AND THE FUEL OVER FLOWED.

THE TECHNICIANS AT THE SHOP HAVE NEVER SEEN THESE KINDS OF PROBLEMS BEFORE AND THE GUY AT INTERSTATE BATTERY SAID HE HAS NEVER SEEN A CAR DEPLETE A BATTERY LIKE MINE DOES. WITH ALL THESE ISSUE BEING ASSOCIATED WITH THE WORDS MELTING, CHARRING, SMOKING, IT REALLY CONCERNS ME THAT ONE DAY MY VAN IS GOING TO CATCH ON FIRE OR BLOW UP AND THIS IS NOT NORMAL FOR ANY VEHICLE, BUT ESPECIALLY ONE THAT HAS BEEN TAKEN CARE OF AND MAINTAINED. I'VE SEEN SEVERAL COMPLAINT ABOUT HAVING TO CHANGE THE BATTERY THEN THE ALTENATOR THEN THE TPIM. I DID ALL THAT AND MY VEHICLES ELECTRICAL SYSTEM STILL IS GIVING ME PROBLEMS. THE DOORS WILL NOT SIDE OPEN THE AIR BLOWS HEAT AUTOMATICALLY WHEN NOT EVEN ON AND NOW WON'T EVEN START. PROBLEM AFTER PROBLEM AND STILL NO RECALL. THERE HAS BEEN HUNDREDS OF COMPLAINTS ABOUT FAULTY TIPM'S AND EVEN A LAWSUIT. THE DEALERSHIP SAY'S THEY DON'T KNOW WHAT THE PROBLEM IS BUT EACH PERSON I'VE SEEN COMPLAIN SHARES THE SAME PROBLEM. FIRST TOLD IT'S THE BATTERY THEN THE ALTENATOR THEN THE TPIM. WHY HAS THIS NOT BEEN RECALLED. DODGE KNOWS THIS IS A PROBLEM OR THEY WOULDN'T HAVE SETTLED A LAWSUIT ABOUT THE CHEROKEE AND THE DURANGO. SHE TOLD ME THAT AS SHE WAS GOING THROUGH AN INTERSECTION, IT JUST STALLED ON HER. THANKFULLY, IT WAS ONLY 5 AM AND NOT DURING RUSH HOUR. BEING THE SKEPTICAL GUY I AM, I THOUGH MAYBE SHE HAD HIT THE KEY SOMEHOW AND SHUT IT DOWN. THEN IT HAPPENED TO ME AND I WAS NEARLY REAR-ENDED. I CHECKED IT OUT AND DIDN'T FIND ANYTHING, BUT FROM THAT DAY FORTH, IT BECAME HARD TO START AT RANDOM TIMES. SOMETIMES WHEN WE TURN THE KEY, THE IGNITION WILL CRANK, BUT THE ENGINE WON'T START AND WE'LL HAVE TO TURN THE KEY OFF TO MAKE IT STOP TURNING OVER. OTHER TIMES, IT WILL ATTEMPT TO START, OR EVEN START, THEN IMMEDIATELY STALL. EVENTUALLY, AND SOMETIMES AFTER 8-10 ATTEMPTS, IT WILL START AND RUN UNTIL THE NEXT TIME WE PARK IT. EVER SINCE I CHECKED IT OUT, I HAVE NOTICED THAT, AT TIMES, YOU CAN'T HEAR THE HUM OF THE FUEL PUMP WHEN YOU TURN THE KEY, WHILE OTHER TIMES IT DOESN'T SEEM TO STOP MAKING NOISE. JUST THIS MORNING, I LEFT TO GO TO WORK, ONLY TO FIND THAT THE VAN WON'T START. APPARENTLY, ONE OF THE OTHER OBVIOUS SIGNS OF A BAD TIPM IS THE OCCASIONAL DEAD BATTERY....CAUSED BY A FUEL PUMP THAT THE TIPM FUEL RELAY FAILS TO SHUT OFF.AT THIS POINT, MY VAN HAS BEEN SITTING SINCE OCTOBER OF 2016, AS WE CANNOT AFFORD THE HIGH REPAIR COST. THE REPAIR ESTIMATE THAT I WAS QUOTED FOR THE TIPM WILL COST AROUND $1100. HAD THIS BEEN TAKEN CARE OF BY CHRYSLER, I MAY HAVE SAVED WHAT I SPENT ON BATTERIES AND THE ALTERNATOR.

I HAVE DRIVEN CHRYSLER DODGE CARAVANS FOR OVER 25 YEARS AND I AM GREATLY DISAPPOINTED THAT THEY ARE NOT STANDING BEHIND THEIR PRODUCT. I'VE SEEN THE LAWSUIT THAT IS ON GOING RELATED TO THE VERY SAME PROBLEM I HAD IN THE GRAND CHEROKEES AND THE DODGE DURANGOS. MY VEHICLE IS LIST IN THE ADDENDUM TO THE LAWSUIT. VEHICLE WOULD NOT START AND WHEN IT DID IT WOULD RUN AT A FAST IDLE THEN IT WOULD GO IN TO LIMP MODE WHILE DRIVING ON THE ROAD, LEAVING THE VEHICLE WITH LITTLE TO NO POWER TO MOVE OUT OF THE WAY OF TRAFFIC IN THE MIDDLE ON AN INTERSECTION WHEN THE VEHICLE WENT IN TO LIMP MODE. VEHICLE WOULD LOSE ALL ENGINE POWER WHILE ACCELERATING TO SPEED AT RANDOM TIMES (MAKING THE VEHICLE BOGS DOWN) MAKING THE DRIVER AND ANY PASSENGERS GET THROWN FORWARD AND THEN BE THROWN BACK WHEN ENGINE POWER WOULD COME BACK. VEHICLE WAS ALSO GIVING ME PROBLEMS WITH THE AUTOMATIC SIDE DOORS NOT OPENING AND CLOSING AND THE HVAC SYSTEM WOULD COME ON BY ITS SELF AT RANDOM TIMES. THE DEALER REPLACED THE BATTERY (THAT I HAD TO PAY FOR) STATING THAT WAS THE REASON FOR ALL OF THE PROBLEMS I WAS HAVING. AFTER GETTING VEHICLE BACK EVERYTHING WAS GOOD FOR A FEW DAYS THEN WENT BACK TO DOING ALL OF THE SAME PROBLEMS WITHIN A FEW DAY OF GETTING VEHICLE BACK FORM DEALER. TOOK VEHICLE BACK TO DEALER FOR THE 2ND TIME AND THEY REPLACED THE PCM (2ND TIME THE PCM HAD BEEN REPLACE SINCE PURCHASED 12/31/2011) & THROTTLE BODY (THAT I HAD TO PAY THE DEDUCTIBLE). VEHICLE WAS STILL HAVING THE SAME PROBLEMS SO I TOOK IT BACK TO THE DEALER FOR THE 3RD TIME WITHIN A 18 DAY PERIOD. THE SERVICE ADVISOR TOLD ME THAT I COULD BE THE TIPM BUT THEY WOULD HAVE TO SEE IT ACT UP BEFORE THEY COULD REPLACE THE PART, DEALER TOLD ME THAT THE TIPM WAS THE CAUSE OF ALL THE PROBLEMS. THE TIPM WAS REPLACED (HAD TO PAY FOR PARTIAL OF THE COST) AND EVERYTHING WAS WORKING AGAIN. I FEEL THAT EVEN WITH THE TIPM REPLACED THAT I COULD STILL HAVE GOTTEN A POORLY MADE PART AS A REPLACEMENT. I FEEL AT TIME WHILE DRIVING THAT SOME OF THE PROBLEMS ARE STARTING ALL OVER AGAIN, LIKE THE SLIDING DOOR NOT WORKING AND THE HVAC SYSTEM TURNING ON BY ITS SELF. IN AUGUST 2014 OUR DODGE GRAND CARAVAN (2011) BEGAN HAVING PROBLEMS STARTING UP IMMEDIATELY. THIS CONTINUED AND PROGRESSIVELY GOT WORSE AS TIME WENT ON. WE WERE FORCED TO TRY AND COAX THE VAN TO START BY TURNING THE IGNITION BACK AND FORTH FROM ACCY (ACCESSORY) TO START REPEATEDLY, AT TIMES FOR UP TO 30-45 MINUTES BEFORE IT WOULD START. WE EXPERIENCED THE VAN'S ENGINE SHUTTING OFF FOR NO REASON AT STOPLIGHTS AND IN THE MIDDLE OF DRIVING. AT ONE POINT, THE FUEL PUMP WOULD NOT TURN OFF EVEN THOUGH THE VAN WAS OFF AND THE KEY REMOVED FROM THE IGNITION. WE WERE FORCED TO DISCONNECT THE BATTERY EVERY TIME WE GOT OUT OF THE VEHICLE SO AS NOT TO CAUSE POSSIBLE OVERHEATING OF THE FUEL PUMP. ONCE THE FUEL PUMP STOPPED RUNNING WE WERE UNABLE TO START THE VAN AT ALL, LEAVING MY STRANDED IN MY VEHICLE UNTIL I COULD BE PICKED UP. BECAUSE THIS IS OUR ONLY VEHICLE WE WERE FORCED TO GET THE TIPM REPLACED WHICH COST $1114.68. *TR
VEHICLE STALLED 6 TIMES WHILE TRAVELING ON EXPRESSWAY 70-75 MPH ,LIGHTS GOING ON AND OFF...LOSS OF POWER STEERING AND BRAKES WHEN STALLED. TOOK VEHICLE TO DEALERSHIP WHO COULD NOT DUPLICATE. THEY HAD BEEN CONFERRING WITH DODGE REPRESENTATIVE WHO AFTER 1 WEEK STATED TO GIVE VEHICLE BACK TO CUSTOMER. AFTER EXTENSIVE RESEARCH I FEEL IT IS A FAULTY TIPM, HOWEVER DODGE APPARENTLY DOES NOT THINK SO. SO I HAVE A VEHICLE THAT CAN STALL AT ANY TIME...DODGE KNOWS THERE IS A PROBLEM AND THEY JUST DON'T CARE. I WILL SAY THE DEALERSHIP WAS GREAT, FREE LOANER CAR, NO CHARGE FOR DIAGNOSTIC AND THEY GENUINELY FELT BAD TO HAND THE CAR BACK OVER...I DID NOT BUY MY VEHICLE FROM THIS DEALERSHIP, HOWEVER THEY TREATED ME AS IF I WAS A CUSTOMER OF THEIRS. *TR

I WAS DRIVING DOWN THE ROAD AND MY CAR JUST STOPPED RUNNING. I HAD TO PULL OVER TO THE SIDE OF THE ROAD WHICH IS VERY DIFFICULT BECAUSE THE POWER STEERING DOESN'T WORK ONCE IT DIES. VAN TRIES TO START BUT JUST CAN'T TURN OVER. IT STALLED WHILE TRYING TO PULL OUT IN TRAFFIC. TOOK IT TO THE DEALER WHERE THEY FIRST TOLD ME IT WAS THE ALTERNATOR. WE WERE PULLING OUT OF A PARKING LOT WHEN THE MOTOR STARTED MAKING A GRINDING SOUND. WE DROVE IT STRAIGHT HOME AND THE NEXT MORNING TOOK IT TO A LOCAL SHOP TO HAVE IT CHECKED OUT. THEY STATED THE SCREWS THAT WERE HOLDING THE ENGINE TO THE MOUNT HAD BEEN SHEARED OFF ON ONE SIDE AND THE ENGINE HAD FALLEN ONTO THE FRONT AXEL. THE SCREWS ON THE OTHER SIDE WERE COMPLETELY STRIPPED AND WERE ALSO IN THE PROCESS OF BEING SHEARED IN HALF. THE MECHANIC STATED HE FELT THIS WAS DUE TO THE ENGINE MOUNT SCREWS NOT BEING PROPERLY TIGHTENED AT THE FACTORY. WE TOOK IT TO THE LOCAL DODGE DEALERSHIP AND THEY STATED THEY COULD NOT DETERMINE HOW THIS HAD HAPPENED BECAUSE THE SCREWS WERE SHEARED OFF BUT THEY WOULD NOT CLAIM ANY FAULT. THEY ALSO STATED IT WOULD NOT BE COVERED UNDER OUR WARRANTY BECAUSE IT'S NOT PART OF THE POWER-TRAIN. THE VEHICLE IS ONLY THREE YEARS OLD AND TO HAVE THE MOTOR FALL OUT DURING DRIVING DOES NOT SEEM LIKE STANDARD WEAR AND TEAR. THE VEHICLE HAS NEVER BEEN INVOLVED IN ANY KIND OF ACCIDENT OR COLLISION AND HAS HAD ALL THE APPROPRIATE PREVENTATIVE MAINTENANCE AS OUTLINED BY DODGE. *TR

PROBLEM HAS PROGRESSED TO MISFIRE AT HIGHWAY SPEEDS WHICH CAUSES A VIOLENT SHAKE UNTIL I MANUALLY DOWNSHIFT (WITH ELECTRIC SHIFTER) I HAVE MADE FORMAL COMPLAINTS TO CHRYSLER, BUT NO CALL BACKS. DEALER HAS FOUND CODES P0300, AND P0301 PENDING, STORED, AND ACTIVE ON VARIOUS TIMES. ACCORDING TO CHRYSLER MASTER TECH, CHRYSLER KNOWS OF DEFECT AND EFFECTS EARLY 3.6 PENTASTAR ENGINE, BUT HASN'T FOUND A FIX. WHAT MAKES THIS A SAFETY CONCERN, IS THAT I TO MERGE ON THE HIGHWAY, OR PASS A VEHICLE, I HAVE TO RACE THE ENGINE, AND HOPE THE ENGINE DOESN'T FAIL OR SHUT OFF.
