While the Emergency Parking Brake was activated and vehicle in Park in the driveway that is on a hill, the car began rolling down the driveway at a fast rate of speed with no one in drivers seat. 3 young kids were in car seats in the van with it running while we were outside of the vehicle speaking. All doors locked and it flew down the driveway almost flipping over at the bottom. We took the vehicle to the dealership we purchased it from on June 29, 2023 and they could not recreate the issue. No warning lights were on prior to this incident and when citizens that stopped when this happened, got in the vehicle to dislodge it from the dirt that thankfully stopped it from flipping, they verified that it still showed the E Brake as being engaged it was still in park. No police or insurance was called because there was no damage to the vehicle or children but the dealership was called. I do have video of this event but your website does not accept videos
Vehicle randomly dies completely like no battery connected either while parked or in motion. Then after a few moments vehicle starts like nothing is wrong. No codes no warning.
My car was fine until one day in rain the whole dash and radio shut off and came back on repeatedly, spedometer bouncing each time. Took it to dealer/JDByrider and "they dont know prob/happens all the time" w a very "oh well" attitude. They did nothing. I called again when car ALSO started shutting completely off at long red lights. I was told next appt available would be 23 days! Thats still 4 days away. NOW in addition to dash/radio/spedometer problem the van doesnt just die at LONG lights, it dies if I have to stop for drive thrus, stop signs, short lights. The headlights have also started flickering very very badly. Im upset that repairs are supposed to be covered by JDByrider and theyve had me driving this dangerous car for almost a month before trying to fix it. Im not allowed to get work done on it elsewhere or else it makes future repairs on parts not covered by JDByrider. I have 4 kids and this car is not safe on road and Im literally not allowed to get someone else to fix it if I want it to continue to be covered by JDB. JDB blames Dodge. My car purchase was supposed to cover repairs and instead Im being forced to drive 4 kids around in car dealer cant fix and they claim Dodge dont know how to either. I should have never been expected to wait almost a month for this to be addressed.
VAN LOSES BRAKES WHEN APPLIED OVER A POTHOLE OR OTHER ROUGH ROAD. IT TRAVELS FOR ABOUT 15 FEET THEN STOPS (REGARDLESS OF PUMPING THE BRAKE). IT BUILDS UP AFTER THE VAN STOPS. THIS IS VERY DANGEROUS, OBVIOUSLY. PERHAPS THERE SHOULD BE A RECALL BECAUSE MANY OTHER PEOPLE HAVE REPORTED THIS PROBLEM. THIS HAS HAPPENED TWICE IN A MONTH (9/16/2020 WAS THE LAST TIME). ALSO, DEALERSHIPS APPEAR TO GUESS WHEN REPAIRING THE PROBLEM, COSTING CONSUMERS IN THE THOUSANDS OF DOLLARS.

TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2011 DODGE GRAND CARAVAN. WHILE THE CONTACT'S WIFE WAS DRIVING APPROXIMATELY 30 MPH, THE VEHICLE DID NOT RESPOND APPROPRIATELY WHEN THE BRAKE PEDAL WAS DEPRESSED. THE CONTACT DEPRESSED THE BRAKE PEDAL ALL THE WAY TO THE FLOORBOARD, BUT THE VEHICLE STILL FAILED TO RESPOND. AS A RESULT, THE DRIVER REAR ENDED ANOTHER VEHICLE. THERE WERE NO WARNING INDICATORS ILLUMINATED PRIOR TO THE FAILURE. THE AIR BAGS DEPLOYED. THE CONTACT SUSTAINED A SORE ANKLE, WHICH WAS EXAMINED BY A MEDIC, BUT THERE WERE NO SERIOUS INJURIES. A POLICE REPORT WAS FILED. THE VEHICLE WAS TOWED TO AN INDEPENDENT MECHANIC, BUT WAS NOT DIAGNOSED OR REPAIRED. THE VEHICLE SUSTAINED FRONT END DAMAGE, BUT WAS NOT DESTROYED. THE DEALER AND MANUFACTURER WERE NOT NOTIFIED OF THE FAILURE. THE APPROXIMATE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 138,000.

MY WIFE WAS DRIVING WITH MY 4 KIDS AGED 13, 11, 8 AND 3 WHEN THE CARAVAN STALLED WHILE IN MOTION AT THE RED LIGHT NEAR A MAJOR INTERSECTION WITHOUT PRIOR WARNING. WITH NO POWER STEERING OR BREAKS, THE VAN STOPPED IN THE MIDDLE OF THE INTERSECTION AND ON COMING TRAFFIC HAD TO BREAK HARD TO PREVENT A COLLISION. BOULEVARD DODGE CHRYSLER DIAGNOSED THE ISSUE AS FAULTY ELECTRICAL ISSUE WITH THE FUEL PUMP. THE REPAIR COST ME $478 (DEC. 3 2018). ON TUESDAY JAN 15 2019 THE CAR STARTED DIFFERENT ELECTRICAL PROBLEMS. WHEN I TOOK THE CAR BACK TO THE SAME DEALER THEY TOLD ME THE CAUSE IS THE TIPM WHICH WOULD COST ABOUT $2000. WHEN I STARTED MY RESEARCH I REALIZED THAT BOTH ISSUE ARE RELATED AND CAUSED BY THE TIPM. THIS IS AN ONGOING ISSUE WITH MANY MODELS OF FCA WHICH SOME VEHICLES HAD RECALLS FROM FCA. I AM NOT THE ONLY ONE WHO HAS EXPERIENCES STALLING DUE TO TIPM ISSUE ON CARAVAN. THIS IS A SERIOUS ISSUE AND NHTSA AS WELL AS TRANSPORT CANADA HAS TO PROTECT THE PUBLIC BEFORE A SERIOUS ACCIDENT OR DEATH OCCURS. ON FEB 14 I HAD MORE ELECTRICAL PROBLEMS THIS TIME WITH AN IGNITION COIL DEFAULT DUE TO THE TIPM. REPAIR COST $ 265.90. ON AUGUST 29 THE CAR STALLED AGAIN IN MOTION WHILE DRIVING ON THE SERVICE ROAD OF A MAJOR HIGHWAY. THEREFORE NO POWER BRAKES OR STEERING. THAT IS BESIDE THE FACT THAT THE CAR WON'T START OR HAS DIFFERENT FLASHING LIGHTS ON THE DASH BOARD.

DODGE HAS KNOWN ABOUT ISSUES WITH TRANSMISSIONS FOR YEARS 2011 GRAND CARAVAN MODELS AND HAS PUT OUT SEVERAL TECHNICAL SERVICE BULLETINS REGARDING THESE ISSUES AND ISSUES WITH OXYGEN SENSORS AS WELL. NOW, MY VEHICLE IS AT A DEALERSHIP WITH A TRANSMISSION THAT NEEDS TO BE REPLACED AND FAULTY O2 SENSORS THAT TOTAL BETWEEN $6,000 AND $7,000 WORTH OF WORK. DODGE ALSO KNOWS ABOUT BRAKE ISSUES THAT AFFECT THE SAFE OPERATION AND STOPPING OF THESE MODELS AND HAS YET TO REPAIR ANY OF THESE ISSUES.

THIS VEHICLE HAS HAD MULTIPLE ISSUES WITH PREMATURE BRAKE PAD WEAR. IN FACT, IN OCTOBER 2017, THE VEHICLE HAD THE FOLLOWING COMPONENTS REPLACED: CALIPERS (BOTH FRONT AND BOTH REAR), ROTORS (BOTH FRONT AND BOTH REAR), BRAKE PADS (BOTH FRONT AND BOTH REAR) REPLACED BY PEP BOYS IN EASTGATE, OHIO. IT HAS ONLY BEEN JUST OVER 6 MONTHS AND BOTH FRONT SIDE BRAKE PADS HAVE TO BE REPLACED, YET AGAIN! THERE IS OBVIOUSLY SOMETHING WRONG WITH THE ENGINEERING OF THIS VEHICLE BRAKING SYSTEM AND IT HAS BEEN REPORTED ON MANY CONSUMER COMPLAINT SITES AND FILED WITH DODGE/CHRSYLER AND THEY REFUSE TO ACKNOWLEDGE AND REPAIR THE VEHICLES. THE BRAKE PADS ARE WEARING PREMATURELY UNDER NORMAL DRIVING CONDITIONS, NO MATTER WHAT TYPE OF WEATHER IS PRESENT. THE BRAKE PADS WILL FAIL AND RESULT IN SERIOUS OR FATAL ACCIDENTS, IF THEY HAVE NOT ALREADY.

THE TRACTION CONTROL LIGHT ON THE VAN FLASHED ON THE WAY HOME AND ONE OF THE BRAKES ACTIVATED. THIS NEVER HAPPENED PRIOR TO THE REPAIR. THIS HAD CONTINUED AND HAS GOTTEN WORSE TO WHERE THE CAR ATTEMPTS TO STOP ON THE FREEWAY GOING 60 - 70 MPH (DEPENDING ON THE SPEED ZONE) THAT COULD CAUSE A LOCK UP OR WORSE. THERE ARE NO CODES GIVEN TO INDICATE WHY THIS IS HAPPENING.

2011 DODGE CARAVAN PURCHASED 3/2017. MOTOR HAD A SLIGHT KNOCKING SOUND TOOK IT BACK TO DEALER THEY SENT ME TO THEIR MECHANIC. I WAS ASSURED THAT IT WAS FINE. THEN BRAKES WENT REALLY LOW AND DID NOT STOP RIGHT. TOLD IT WAS A MASTER CYLINDER.INSTALLED THAT THEN IT HAPPENED AGAIN SO WAS TOLD THAT IT WAS A BAD MASTER CYLINDER. INSTALLED ANOTHER ONE. DID NOT FIX THE PROBLEM AFTER A FEW DAYS.????? THEN I WAS TOLD WE NEEDED A BRAKE BOOSTER. INSTALLED THAT AND IT DID SEEM LIKE THAT WAS IT FIXED, THEN THE BRAKE LIGHT CAME ON AND BRAKE PEDAL WENT LOW. NOW IT HAS A VERY HORRIBLE SOUND AND THE TRANY AT TIMES DOES NOT WANT TO SHIFT AND THE RPM'S GO UP AND I HAVE TO PULL OVER AND SHUT OFF THE VEHICLE AND TURN IT BACK ON AND IT WILL SHIFT.???? ELECTRONICAL.??? I HAVE READ COMPLAINTS ON NHTSA AND I FEEL LIKE DODGE SHOULD REPAIR THE BRAKES AND THE TRANY PROBLEM. FROM WHAT I CAN READ IT IS A DEFECTIVE PART OF THE PROGRAMMING. THE HORRIBLE NOSIE WHEN YOU PULL OFF, I DONT KNOW WHAT IT IS BUT SOUNDS BAD.. I CALLED DODGE DEALERSHIP RIGHT AFTER I BOUGHT THE VAN AND THEY WERE VERY RUDE AND SAID THERE WERE NOT ANY RECALLS FOR THIS 2011 VAN AND I SEE THAT THERE IS AND SOME SAYS COMPLETE. WELL IF THEY ARE COMPLETE SEEMS TO ME LIKE IT NEEDS TO BE REPAIRED AGAIN BECAUSE IT IS DOING WHAT I SEE THAT PEOPLE ARE COMPLAINING ABOUT. I OWE NEARLY 14,000 ON THIS VAN. . DOGE/CHRYSLER SHOULD MAKE IT GOOD. THE COMPLETE ON THE RECALLS LIKE I SAID IS NOT COMPLETE. PLEASE HELP ME IF YOU CAN. IT CAN HAPPEN DRIVING SLOW (THROUGH TOWN) OR ON THE FREEWAY. ONCE THE LIGHT COMES ON, NO NOTICEABLE DIFFERENCE IS SEEN WHILE DRIVING OTHER THAN CRUISE CONTROL IS TURNED OFF IF IT WAS ENGAGED BEFORE THE LIGHT COMES ON. ONCE THE VEHICLE IS STOPPED AND PUT IN PARK, IT WILL NOT COME OUT OF PARK (SUCH AS PUT IN REVERSE OR DRIVE), THE KEY MUST BE CYCLED. ONCE THE KEY IS CYCLED, EVERYTHING RETURNS TO NORMAL (ESC LIGHT IS OFF, AND THE SHIFTER CAN BE ENGAGED TO NEUTRAL, DRIVE, REVERSE ETC. SEVERAL MECHANICS CANNOT EITHER REPRODUCE THE PROBLEM, OR FIGURE OUT WHAT THE PROBLEM IS. DRIVING STRAIGHT, APPROX 35 MPH ON 2-LANE STATE HIGHWAY PASSING THROUGH SMALL TOWN WITH RUSH HOUR TRAFFIC ON BOTH LANES AND NO SHOULDER. WITH NO PRIOR WARNING, ALL RED INSTRUMENT WARNING LIGHTS WENT ON AT ONCE, INCLUDING FUEL PUMP/THROTTLE, BRAKES AND OTHERS. CAR STALLED DEAD AND INSTANTANEOUSLY LOST POWER TO STEERING AND BRAKES, WAS IMPOSSIBLE TO CONTROL. WOULD NOT RESTART. FORTUNATELY DRIVER WAS ABLE TO STEER VEHICLE PARTLY OFF ROAD INTO A DRIVEWAY OF BUSY STORE, BLOCKING DRIVEWAY TO CUSTOMERS. STATE POLICE WERE UNABLE TO GET CAR IN NEUTRAL TO PUSH TO SAFE LOCATION. POLICE ORDERED CAR TOWED AND IT IS CURRENTLY AWAITING DIAGNOSIS FOR TOTALLY INTEGRATED POWER MODULE("TIPM") FAILURE AT DODGE DEALERSHIP. THIS WAS A LIFE-THREATENING FAILURE AND IF IT HAD HAPPENED AT NEARLY ANY OTHER LOCATION OR IN ADVERSE WEATHER THERE WOULD HAVE BEEN INJURY OR DEATH TO DRIVER AND PASSENGERS. WE HAVE TOW RECEIPT. WE DON'T KNOW WHETHER STATE POLICE FILED INCIDENT REPORT. MANY SIMILAR TIPM FAILURES OF DODGE AND CHRYSLER VEHICLES HAVE BEEN REPORTED TO NHTSA AND YOU HAVE RECENTLY REJECTED A CENTER FOR AUTO SAFETY PETITION FOR NHTSA INTERVENTION REGARDING THIS DEFECT. CHRYSLER/DODGE IS WELL AWARE OF THE PROBLEMS WITH THE TIPM BECAUSE 80,894 JEEP WRANGLERS AND DODGE NITRO VEHICLES WERE RECALLED IN 2007 FOR THE SAME PROBLEMS. IN THAT RECALL, DEFECTIVE TIPMS HAD A SOFTWARE PROBLEM THAT COULD CAUSE THE ENGINE TO STALL. NHTSA SHOULD REQUIRE DODGE TO RECALL EVERY MODEL THAT HAS THIS SAME TIPM INSTALLED AND TO IMMEDIATELY WARN THE PUBLIC THAT THEIR LIVES ARE IN DANGER EVERY TIME THEY DRIVE THEIR DODGE/CHRYSLER VEHICLE. IT IS UNCONSCIONABLE THAT THE MANUFACTURER AND NHTSA HAVE PREVIOUSLY BEEN INFORMED OF THIS DANGEROUS DEFECT AND FAILED TO PROTECT THE AMERICAN PUBLIC.

SEVERAL TIMES THIS WINTER MY WIFE HAS WENT TO START OUR VEHICLE AND IT WOULD NOT START. THIS HAS RESULTED IN MISSED TIME AT WORK AND KIDS MISSING SCHOOL AS WELL AS 1 OCCURRENCE OF BEING STRAINED WHILE OUT SHOPPING. IT SEEMS TO EFFECT IT MOSTLY WHEN REALLY COLD OUTSIDE 30 OR BELOW. WE HAVE ALSO HAD SEVERE ISSUES WITH THE BRAKES. I HAVE HAD ALL FOUR BRAKES REPLACED TWICE AND BOTH FRONT ROTORS AS WELL AS CALIPERS REPLACED. THE PROBLEM IS THAT AFTER A FEW MINUTES OF DRIVING (20-30 MINS) THE FRONT PASSENGER SIDE BRAKE DRAGS CAUSING A VERY STRONG METALLIC SMELL TO ENTER THROUGH THE AIR VENTS INSIDE THE VAN. MY WORRY IS THAT ONE DAY IT WILL CATCH ON FIRE AND MY VEHICLE WILL BE LOST IN THE FIRE.

IT WILL GENERALLY SHUT OFF RANDOMLY, BUT PRIMARILY AT STOP SIGNS OR BACKING OUT OF PARKING SPACES, BUT THERE HAVE BEEN 3 INSTANCES WHERE IT SHUT OFF AT 40 MPH OR HIGHER IN THE LAST 8 HOURS, WHEN THESE SHUT OFFS HAPPEN IT TAKES 5-10 ATTEMPTS TO RESTART THE CAR. WHEN THESE INSTANCES HAPPEN THE BRAKES AND STEERING WHEEL LOCK UP MAKING IT VERY DIFFICULT TO STOP AND/OR TURN.

CAR IS UNDER 45,000 MILES. HAVE SEEN NUMEROUS COMPLAINTS ON BRAKES FOR DODGE CARAVANS ON THE INTERNET. WHY IS DODGE NOT RESPONSIBLE FOR FIXING THE PROBLEM? BRAKES SHOULD NOT BE WEARING OUT THIS QUICKLY. THIS IS A COSTLY PROBLEM AND I THINK A RECALL IS NEEDED GIVEN THE NUMBER OF COMPLAINTS I'VE SEEN.

WE HAVE A 2011 DODGE GRAND CARAVAN. WE ARE GETTING TO THE POINT THAT THIS VAN IS NOT WORTH THE STRESS. WE DID NOT GET THIS VAN BRAND NEW HOWEVER IT DIDN'T HAVE MANY MILES, IF I REMEMBER RIGHT 62,000 ON IT. LESS THEN A YEAR AGO WE HAD TO FIX ALL FOUR BRAKES AND ROTORS (AT 65,000 MILES) . LAST WEEK WHEN IT WENT FOR INSPECTION (AT 73600 MILES) IT WOULDN'T PASS BECAUSE OF THE ROTORS, SO ONCE AGAIN WE HAD TO GET THEM FIXED. WE ARE ON DAY 7 AND ARE ALREADY SEEING THE SAME PROBLEM AND KNOWING WE WILL HAVE TO HAVE THEM FIXED AGAIN! I CAN TELL BY HOW THE VAN IS SQUEALING THAT WE ARE GOING TO HAVE TO REPLACE THE BRAKES AND ROTORS AGAIN SOON. WE HAVE ALREADY SPENT OVER $1500 IN THE SAME REPAIRS IN LESS THEN A YEAR. I HAVE LOOKED UP DODGE VANS AND I SEE A LOT OF PEOPLE ARE HAVING THE SAME PROBLEM. SERIOUSLY I HAVE A FAMILY AND IF THESE BRAKES AND ROTORS FAIL I WILL NOT BE HAPPY. WHEN TRYING TO STOP OR SLOW DOWN, STEERING WHEEL VIBRATES SO MUCH IT FEELS LIKE I WON'T BE ABLE TO HOLD ONTO IT. MY SON REPLACED THE ROTOR AND PADS ON FRONT BRAKES AS THEY SEEMED WORN. THEN IN APRIL 2014 WE TOOK THE CAR BACK TO THE DEALER BECAUSE BRAKES WERE GRINDING. THEY REPLACED ROTOR AND PADS AND THINGS SEEMED OK UNTIL MAY, WHEN BRAKES STARTED SQUEALING AND STEERING WHEEL VIBRATING AGAIN WHILE BRAKING.. TOOK CAR BACK TO DEALER ON MAY 21, AND ASKED THEM TO CHECK BRAKES, ROTATE TIRES, AND CHANGE OIL. THEY SAID BRAKES WERE IN THE "GREEN". STILL HAVING VIBRATION OF STEERING WHEEL WHILE BRAKING, SO I ASKED TO BRING IT IN FOR ANOTHER CHECK, AND NOW THEY SAY THE NEW ROTORS, (ABOUT 2 MONTHS OLD) SHOW SIGNS OF SIGNIFICANT WEAR. THEY ASKED ME IF I DROVE WITH BOTH FEET, AND I DO NOT. THEY VERIFIED MY COMPLAINT OF VIBRATION IN THE STEERING WHEEL, AND ASKED ME TO BRING THE CAR BACK IN ON THIS COMING FRIDAY. TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2011 DODGE GRAND CARAVAN. THE CONTACT STATED THAT WHILE DRIVING 55 MPH, THE TRACTION CONTROL WARNING LIGHT ILLUMINATED AS THE CONTACT LOST CONTROL OF THE VEHICLE. THE CONTACT STATED THAT HE HAD TO SLOW THE VEHICLE DOWN IN ORDER TO REGAIN CONTROL. THE CONTACT ALSO STATED THAT A FEW WEEKS LATER, THE BRAKES FAILED AS HE DEPRESSED THE BRAKE PEDAL. AFTER OWNING THE VAN ABOUT 1 1/2 YEARS I NOTICED THE BRAKES WERE HANGING UP CAUSING OVERHEATING. I TOOK THE VAN IN AND THEY SAID IT WAS DIRT STICKINGTO THE CALIPERS SO THE LUBRICATED IT UP, BUT SHORTLY AFTER IT DID IT AGAIN. AT 56,000 KMS I TOOK IT IN BECAUSE BRAKES DRAGGING AGAIN AND THIS TIME THEY SAID MY BRAKES WERE WORE OUT. I ONLY DRIVE HIGHWAY AND I AM AN INSTRUCTOR WHO TEACHES FUEL EFFICIENCY WHICH REDUCES WEAR ON BRAKES. THEY PUT NEW BRAKES AND ROTORS ON THE VAN AND 100 MILES LATER THE FRONT LEFT WHEEL IS OVERHEATING. THERE IS STILL RATTLES IN THE BRAKES. I TOOK THE VAN IN BEFORE SUMMER STARTED BECAUSE ON THE PASSENGER SIDE AIR VENT IT WOULD NOT GO TO COLD, ONLY HOT. I TOOK IT TO THE DEALER AND THEY SAID CHRYSLER IS AWARE OF THE PROBLEM AND DO NOT HAVE AN ANSWER TO THE PROBLEM. I KNOW ANOTHER 2011 DODGE CARAVAN OWNER AND HE IS HAVING THE SAME BRAKE PROBLEM. *TR

THE MANUFACTURER WAS MADE AWARE OF THE FAILURE. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 32,000 AND THE CURRENT MILEAGE WAS 36,000.

WE OWNED A 2008 DODGE GRAND CARAVAN AND AT 59,000 MILES, IT NOT ONLY NEED NEW BRAKE PADS (WHICH WOULD BE NORMAL), BUT TO OUR SURPRISE IT NEEDED NEW ROTORS AS THE ORIGINAL ONES WERE SO WARPED THEY COULD NOT BE USED FOR THE NEW BRAKE PADS. WE WERE INFORMED THAT THE MANUFACTURER HAD ADDED AN EXTENDED WARRANTY FOR THE ROTORS AND WOULD BE COVERED UNDER THEIR EXTENDED WARRANTY. AFTER HAVING OTHER ISSUES WITH THE VAN, THE LIFE LONG DEALER WE WORK WITH TALKED US INTO TRADING FOR A 2011 DODGE CARAVAN, ASSURING THAT THE BRAKE AND ROTOR ISSUE HAD BEEN RESOLVED. IT HAS BEEN ONE YEAR AND THE NEW VAN NEEDED NEW BRAKES AND ROTORS AT ONLY 19,900. I WAS INFORMED THAT DODGE/CHRYSLER ADDED AN EXTENDED WARRANTY (ONCE AGAIN), BUT THIS TIME I GOT TO PAY A DEDUCTIBLE OF $50 (0-24,000 MILES). IF IT HAPPENS AGAIN BEFORE 36,000 MILES MY DEDUCTIBLE GOES UP. WHAT, I GET TO PAY FOR THEIR POOR PARTS PURCHASING? I HAVE INFORMED THE DEALER THAT THIS WILL BE THE LAST DODGE/CHRYSLER PRODUCT I WILL OWN. THEY HAVE TRIED TO TAKE CARE OF US, BUT WITH NO ASSISTANCE FROM THE MANUFACTURER. TOO BAD THAT THEY DO NOT WANT TO PROVIDE A QUALITY PRODUCT FOR CUSTOMERS AS THIS VAN IS A GREAT FAMILY VEHICLE, BUT WOULD HESITATE TO PUT MY GRANDCHILDREN IN IT. *TR
