2013 DODGE GRAND CARAVAN Unknown Or Other Problems

1 is the Tipm stopped working and dodge says the recall isn't for my VN# doesn't match recall , was lucky it didn't fail in traffic. 2. No recall on failed brake booster which could cause brake failure.

this is the fourth time i am filing a complaint. My 2013 dodge grand caravan completely dies and looses all power going over 50 miles per hour. no warning, no codes appear, nothing. looses all power, power steering, brakes, etc. have to get to side of road, wait 20 minutes, then car will start. this has happened now over 25 times. The latest time i was driving on the expressway and the vehicle behind me almost crashed into me. this continues to be a safety issue and it is unclear as to why dodge is doing nothing about this despite multiple complaints by hundreds of drivers. I have spent $3000 so far trying to fix this to no avail, new battery, fuel pump, fuel filter, TPM relay, new keys, new programming, still happens. case manager from 2023 told me to take to dodge dealer, spent additional $800, but they had no root cause. happened again. case manager told me to take to a different dodge dealer for second opinion. No codes, no root cause, but charged $400 diagnostic fee. When is Dodge going to do something about this? How many complaints are needed? does someone have to get injured? just tell me how to fix it, that is what i and thousands of others this happens to need to know before someone gets killed.

Driving down the road and my van cuts off. After leaving about 15 minutes it starts back up. I can go around 500 miles between cut offs. Had to 2 different garages with no solution. Replaced fuel pump, did not help. This is very dangerous especially on major highways.

While driving my van it will randomly shut off, it starts back up right away after I get to a safe location to do so but this is very dangerous. I've taken it to shops and they cannot replicate it and there are no codes on the reader to indicate any issues.

It won’t start right away,takes a lot of attempts to start and worse part is Vehicle is Running and suddenly turns off totally or die and it scares me and my Family.That way it’s really hard what to do because steering is out of balance and just stop wherever you at.This happens many times

This morning the headrest on the passenger side was deployed the van was parked in driveway overnight. Not sure how this happened. I feel this is a safety issue. If I was driving and someone was sitting in that sit that could have hurt them. This is a default on your vehicle .Please contact me.

Doors make loud buzzing sound every time opened

this is the third time i am filing a complaint. The latest time with my grandchild in the car, the vehicle behind me almost crashed into me. this continues to be a safety issue and it is unclear as to why dodge is doing nothing about this despite multiple complaints by hundreds of drivers. I have spent over $3000 so far trying to fix this to no avail, new battery, fuel pump, fuel filter, TPM relay, new keys, new programming, still happens. will never buy another dodge/chrysler again, and have told family and friends the same potential hazard of this brand.

Driver's-side, rear-passenger sliding door in stuck in locked position. It is available for inspection. Without the use of this door passengers can be trapped in the van during an emergency. There are many others with this problem a simple search online can confirm it.(this page alone is evidence this is and has been a persistent issue: [XXX] ) No it has not been inspected by manufacturer, police, insurance representatives or others. Front seat passenger headrest has deployed. Vehicle was not in an accident. Don’t know when it happened. I noticed it when a friend was getting in the car. Who is responsible for this one? And I am afraid the driver headrest will deploy when I am driving.

It is unknown at this time what is wrong with the vehicle. The problem started two weeks ago. Initially after driving sustained highway speeds, the van will hesitate to brake when driving through town. When approaching a stop it would stutter to a stop and then stutter to drive again when pressing the gas, the delay was about 2-3 seconds. In two weeks time with approximately 200 miles driven, it started stalling at stops. Once at a traffic light and also at a stop sign. These incidents happened in the same day and since then, it had not been driven due to it being a major safety concern. It has been taken to an auto shop that has run the full diagnostics on it and the computer system is not catching any issues, there are no lights are on the dash. After the engine stalls, it runs if it is turned off and back on again. The brakes, rotors, and tires were replaced when I started noticing that there was an issue with stopping, I figured the problem was that they needed replaced since I have owned the vehicle 2 years and it hadn’t been done since I purchased the van. March 17 was the date it stalled twice and it was the only time the engine stalled in the past two weeks.

Ignition problems the vehicle would not start I had to have roadside come jump my vehicle off. After letting the vehicle run for about 30 minutes I shut it off and waited a minute and it started up fine. After about 3 hours of sitting I went out to the vehicle and it wouldn't start. I had to put It in neutral and it tried starting until it ran out. After turning the wheel and playing with the key it finally cranked over. I know there have been recalls regarding the tpim. It is available for inspection upon request.

The 2013 Dodge Grand Caravan side door locks malfunctioned. While they were unlocked one side would not open causing potential safety concern if in an accident. The other side would not lock even when lock is activated. I took the door panels off and was able to free the stuck lock but now both door actuators make a buzzing sound and i am afraid of failure again. I also sometimes transport my elderly parents who would have difficulty getting out if it malfunctioned. I have not taken to a shop yet but will have to get it fixed. There is a 15 year 150,000 mile warranty extension on the 2015-2017 years but not prior with same actuator. My vehicle only has 140,000 miles and should be covered but is not. There were no signs of the issue before it happened.

A gear part was found within the Transmission when the transmission pan was removed. The Vehicle did not give any warning signs or any faulty messages of the part that was broken. The car dealer then proceeded to flush the transmission which caused the transmission to fail completely. This is due to the fact that there was not a transmission fault error displayed on the panel to indicate a problem or concern. The dealer also stated that after flushing the transmission, the service technician test drove it and confirmed that it was shifting correctly. When I paid and drove it off the lot, the car buckled, stopped in the middle of traffic, and I was unable to drive it at that moment, and was not able to reverse. This caused a safety issue that was unnecessary not only for me but other drivers on the road. After pushing it to the side of the road, I managed to re-start it several times, and managed to take it to a professional Transmission service center called Miramar Transmission and they determined that there was a problem, and the engine light should have come on indicating that there was a problem. The dealer that did not help but actually helped to exacerbate the problem (Pedder in Poway, CA) should not have flushed it with the knowledge that a gear was the known culprit or defect. It is a known fact to NEVER FLUSH a transmission with known internal issues.

Engine began having troubles starting & stalled out while we were driving.

The vehicle accelerates starting at 35mp, but usually, at 40 mph, the vehicle will not start: the vehicle starts after several jump starts, and the vehicle cuts off in mid-drive while doing any speed above 30mph. THIS HAPPENS EVERY TIME I TRY TO START THE VEHICLE. THIS HAS HAPPENED EVERY DAY SINCE 10/06/2022, WHEN I LEASED THIS VEHICLE.

The passenger-side sliding back door does not work properly all of the time. It closes and the back of the door is protruding from the side. The door requires several times to close for example: slide door closed, notice the protrusion, pull the handle and the door back toward the back of the van, pull the handle outward, it starts to close and again does not latch. Sometimes it takes one repeat, sometimes several and sometimes it will close immediately. If it doesn't close, I have to look at the door closure indicator on the dashboard. The other day I did not notice and a state patrol officer keep pointing at me with strange gestures until I figured out my front-seat passenger did not get the door to latch. The drive-side door does not have the problem.

In August 2022, my 2013 Dodge Grand Caravan began having a hard time starting; the engine would not turn over. It took 2-4 times of inserting the key fob and trying to start the van. I took it to O'Rielly's where they checked the battery. It was bad, so I had it replaced. Sunday, Sept. 18, 2022, my van began having the same issue. At lunch today, I tried to start the van. It turned over, but immediately died. I took out the key fob and attempted to start the van again. It turned over. Leaving work this afternoon, I had to try 2 times to get the engine to turn over, but it immediately died. The third time it would not turn over. The fourth time, it turned over, so I pressed the gas pedal to keep it from dieing. This evening after the van had cooled down I went out to see if it would start. I tried 6 times and the engine never would turn over. There have also been multiple occasions where the van will idle low while waiting at a stoplight or for a train. I researched recalls and found that there is a P54 recall for the fuel pump relay for 2013 Dodge Grand Caravans, however my VIN is not part of the recall.

As of March 2022, the van has shut down while driving on the interstate. The steering wheel, brakes and vehicle become hard to use. The van will slow quickly and has come close to causing an accident on multiple occasions. When along the side of the road, its then a challenge to get the van to start. It will crank with no fire. This has occured over 10x and is occurring more frequently with time. Along with the shut down I have had issues with the vehicle not starting. It will crank with no fire. Several mechanics have replaced and wormed on the vehicle with no luck to the conclusion. Things changed: TIPM, engine computer, fuel pump, starter. I purchased this vehicle jan 2 2022.

Over the time we have owned this vehicle the sliding side doors have stopped working & then started. Recently both doors lost power completely . I have read that this is a very common problem with these Vans but the doors when power is lost can not be opened at all from the inside making the passengers crawl out the windows, front doors, or back hatch. If this were a fire, wreck, or emergency this would be a death trap. When calling dealerships to attempt to find a fix or help we have been told time and time again that this is a common problem in these vans.

Every time upon exiting the vehicle there is a loud, annoying buzzing sound that happens. We use the vehicle for deliveries and the noise is driving all of our employees crazy, it's extremely agitating. We looked online and found that it is the door lock actuator that seems to be the problem, but the price to fix it is around $650. We may have decided against buying the vehicle if we knew that this was an issue and was so expensive to fix, it's slowly driving us all crazy.

Loss of propulsion power while driving. Sounds like the fuel pump is running even after car is turned off. Battery will drain after a couple hours.

The car completely shuts off and leaves me stranded in the middle of the street.

Vehicle stops running without warning at random times while driving. Power steering and brakes stop working and vehicle is difficult to control, or to pull off the road to a safe location. Have not had it looked at by a mechanic yet. Car is sitting because it’s too dangerous to drive.

The back passenger sliding door makes a loud buzzing noise when opened and closed.

My vehicles automatic locks are malfunctioing. Passenger back sliding door does not lock at all. Drivers side sliding back door does not open because its stuck in loxked position. Drivers side window geys stuck open.

MY DRIVERS SIDE REAR SLIDING DOOR WILL NOT UNLOCKED MANUALLY OR WITH THE KEY FOB OR WITH THE UNLOCK BUTTON IN THE VAN. SO THIS DOOR WILL NOT OPEN AT ALL. IT'S STUCK SHUT. ALSO WHEN I PRESS THE UNLOCK BUTTON INSIDE THE VAN AND ON THE FOB IT MAKES A LOUD BUZZING NOISE. THIS HAPPENED LAST EVENING AFTER I HAD LOADED MY KIDS IN THE CAR TO GO HOME AND PARKED IN THE DRIVEWAY. I WAS UNABLE TO GET MY 1 YEAR OLD OUT OF HER CAR SEAT FROM THE REAR DRIVERS SIDE SLIDING DOOR. THIS IS DEFINITELY A SAFETY HAZZARD. WHAT IF THAT WAS THE ONLY WAY OUT OF THE VEHICLE DUE TO AN ACCIDENT. WE WOULD BE TRAPPED.

THE VEHICLE WILL STOP WHILE DRIVING. IT CUTS OFF AFTER STARTING AND SOMETIMES TAKES UP TO 10 MINUTES JUST TO START IT. THE BATTERY IS DYING DAILY AND HAS TO BE JUMPED OR DISCONNECTED JUST TO START IN THE MORNING. HAVE READ SEVERAL COMPLAINTS AND ALL END UP HAVING TO BYPASS OR CHANGE THE TIPM FUSE BOX. IT WAS DEFECTIVE ON 2011 AND 2012 MODELS. THE ISSUE STILL EXISTS ON THE 2013 MODEL.

WHEN I WAS DRIVING MY CAR AND COMING TO A STOP THE ENGINE WOULD SUDDENLY SHUT OFF. ALL LIGHTS WOULD REMAIN ON BUT MY POWER STEERING WOULD GO AWAY AND THE RPM'S WOULD DROP TO 0. WHEN I WOULD TRY TO START IT AFTER PULLING OVER (MANUALLY CRANKING THE STEERING WHEEL) THE CAR WOULD TURN OVER, START, AND THEN SHUT OFF IMMEDIATELY. THEN RANDOMLY, USUALLY AFTER 15 MINUTES, THE CAR WOULD START UP LIKE NORMAL AND STAY ON WITHOUT INCIDENT. THIS HAPPENED TWICE WITHIN 5 MINUTES OF EACH INCIDENT.

WHILE DRIVING ON THE INTERSTATE WITH CRUISE CONTROL ON, THE CAR SHUT OFF ENTIRELY AFTER HITTING A BUMP. THE RPM WENT DOWN TO 0 AND THE GAS PEDAL DID NOT WORK. EVERYTHING SEEMED FINE AS WE WERE DRIVING. WE DID NOT HAVE ANY WARNING LIGHTS OR CHECK ENGINE LIGHTS. THE CAR SIMPLY SHUT OFF AT 80 MPH. ATTEMPTS TO TURN THE CAR BACK ON DID NOT WORK. THIS HAS NOW HAPPENED ON TWO SEPARATE OCCASIONS. THANKFULLY WE WERE ABLE TO PULL TO THE SIDE OF THE ROAD SAFELY EACH TIME. WE AREN'T SURE IF THIS IS AN ELECTRICAL PROBLEM, SINCE CRUISE CONTROL WAS ON WHEN THE CAR SHUT OFF.

IT WAS STARTLING TO HEAR THIS AND SEE THIS. IT IS HIGHLY DEFECTIVE IN IT'S ACTIVISION MECHANISM. THE DEALER WANTS TO CHARGE TO FIX THIS IN THE $1000. I SEE NO LOGICAL REASON FOR THE HEAD REST AND NOW I CAN SEE IF IT DEPLOYED ON THE DRIVER'S SEAT, CAUSING AN ACCIDENT.*DT CONSUMER STATED HEAD REST HAS NOT BEEN REPAIRED.*JB

THE LOCK WILL NOT ACTUATE TO EITHER LOCK OR UNLOCK AND SO THE DOOR IS STUCK EFFECTIVELY LOCKED AND WILL NOT OPEN. THIS IS THE ONLY DOOR THAT HAS THIS PARTICULAR ISSUE BUT A FEW TIMES I HAVE RIDDEN WITH MY WIFE I HAVE NOTICED THAT THE OTHER DOOR LOCKS DO NOT AUTOMATICALLY TRIGGER AND AUTO-LOCK AS THEY SHOULD WHEN THE VEHICLE IS INITIALLY PUT INTO DRIVE FOR ABOUT 10MIN AFTER THE VEHICLE HAS BEEN IN MOTION. THE LOCKED SLIDING DOOR CREATES A SAFETY HAZARD IN MY OPINION SINCE THE DOOR CANNOT BE OPENED ELECTRONICALLY OR MANUALLY. THE DELAYED ACTIVATION OF THE AUTO-LOCK COULD ALSO INDICATE A LARGER ISSUE WITH EITHER THE DOOR LOCK MECHANISMS IN GENERAL OR THE ELECTRICAL SYSTEM THAT CONTROLS THEM. AFTER SEARCHING ONLINE I HAVE FOUND THAT THERE IS AN ABUNDANCE OF ISSUES LIKE THESE CONCERNING VARIOUS YEARS AND MODELS OF DODGE MINIVANS. ENOUGH TO POSSIBLY CONSTITUTE A RECALL.

IT WAS REALLY SCARY ONCE I GOT BACK ON EVEN LEVEL PAVEMENT IT STOPPED AFTER I PUT THE VEHICLE IN PARK. VEHICLE WAS IN MOTION AND IN DRIVE IN THE OAKLAND HILLS I FELT I HAD NO CONTROL OF MY CAR IT WAS A HILL THAT HAD SOME MILD TURNS BUT THE HILL WAS STEEP. I WAS NOT DRIVING FAST, I WAS ONLY GOING 30 MILES PER HOUR. I HAD NO BRAKE PROBLEMS BEFORE OR AFTER JUST DURING THIS ROAD. I TOOK THE VAN TO TWO DIFFERENT MECHANICS SAYING THE TRANSMISSION IS GOING OUT. I ONLY HAD THIS VAN TECHNICALLY FOR 43,000 MILES. I EVEN FOUND OUT THAT IT HAD A RECALL BEFORE I BOUGHT IT IN 2014 OF SOMETHING ELSE. THE DEALERSHIP THAT SOLD ME THE VEHICLE DIDNT MAKE SURE THAT RECALL WAS FIXED IN 2014. I BOUGHT THIS CAR IN 2016!! THIS VEHICLE WAS USED!! I WISH WE HAD TEST DRIVED THIS CAR ON A HILL FIRST!! IM PAYING 19,000 FOR THIS CAR I EVEN WENT A HAD TO FIX THE HEATER CORE THAT ALSO WENT OUT.. I OFTEN SERVICE IT!! WE ARE UNABLE TO ADJUST THE HVAC SYSTEM TEMPS AND WAS ADVISED I NEED A BLEND DOOR ACTUATOR THAT SHOULD BE COVERED UNDER X64 WARRANTY EXTENSION. I WOULD EXPECT DODGE TO PAY FOR THIS. THEY WANTED ME TO GET IT DIAGNOSED AT A DEALERSHIP (I PAID $75 TO HAVE IT DIAGNOSED) FOR 4124 THEN THEY WOULD CONSIDER PAYING REPAIRS; MADE NO SENS TO ME. BATTERY IS NOT HOLDING A CHARGE FOR MORE THAN 3 HOURS. I HAVE TAKEN THE VEHICLE TO SEVERAL MECHANICS AND AUTO-SHOPS, BUT NO ONE IS ABLE TO DIAGNOSE THE PROBLEM. WHEN THE BATTERY DIES, AND I GET IT TOWED TO A SHOP, THEY SAY THEY CANNOT DIAGNOSE IT UNLESS THEY CHARGE OR JUMP THE BATTERY; BUT ONCE THE BATTERY IS CHARGED/JUMPED, THE DIAGNOSIS COMES BACK CLEAN. LITERALLY, EVERY MORNING I NEED TO GET THE CAR JUMP STARTED, ELSE I AM STRANDED. THIS PROBLEM HAS BEEN SPORADIC FOR ABOUT THE LAST 7 MONTHS, BUT IT HAS BECOME A REGULAR PROBLEM WITH THE PAST 2 WEEKS. ONCE THE CAR RESTS FOR MORE THAN 3 HOURS, IT DIES. I HAVE CHECK THE ALTERNATOR CHECK TO SEE IF THE DIODES ARE LEAKING; I HAVE HAD THE STARTING AND CHARGING SYSTEMS CHECK, BUT NO ONE CAN FIND A RESOLUTION TO THE PROBLEM. THE POWER DRIVERS SEAT HAS ALSO STOPPED WORKING ABOUT 4 MONTHS AGO, AND THE AC LIGHTS FLICKER CONSTANTLY (EVEN THOUGH THE AC DOES WORK NORMALLY) I SEE THERE WAS A PREVIOUS RECALL CONCERNING ELECTRICAL PROBLEM WITH THE DRIVER SIDE ARM REST, BUT I DON'T KNOW IF THIS COULD POSSIBLY BE A RELATED ISSUE. *DT CONSUMER STATED OTHER THAN THE POWER SEAT AND THE DRAINING BATTERY, THE ONLY OTHER ISSUE CONSUMER NOTICED WAS A FLICKERING OF THE AC LIGHTS. *JB

2013 DODGE GRAND CARAVAN: MANY PROBLEMS HAVE TO DO WITH FAILURE OF TWO VERY IMPORTANT SOFTWARE UPDATES NOT BEING COMPLETED THROUGH AN ACTUAL RECALL BY CHRYSLER. NHTSA INVESTIGATED TIPM-7 WHICH RESULTED IN INCONCLUSIVE FINDINGS; NHTSA NEEDS TO REOPEN INVESTIGATION. MY CAR HAS THREE DEFECTS: TWO DEFECTS ARE DUE TO SOFTWARE UPDATES THAT WERE NEVER PERFORMED. NO RECALL BY CHRYSLER EITHER. THE POWER CONTROL MODULE DEFECT WAS OUTLINED IN CUSTOMER SATISFACTION NOTIFICATION M38: JANUARY 2013. VEHICLE HISTORY SHOWS NO UPDATE. THE 'POOR AUTOMATIC TRANSAXLE SHIFT QUALITY' IS DUE TO THE SOFTWARE NOT BEING UPDATED. ALSO HAD TO REPLACE TRANSMISSION. THE BATTERY DYING THREE TIMES AND BEING REPLACED TWICE OVER 6-MONTH PERIOD IS DUE TO THE FOLD AND STOW MODULE (FSM). CHRYSLER COMMUNICATED IN A BULLETIN THAT THE FSM NEEDED TO BE UPDATED WITH NEW SOFTWARE OTHERWISE A DEAD BATTERY WOULD RESULT DUE TO THE FSM 'STAY[ING] AWAKE' (DATED APRIL 23, 2014). VEHICLE HISTORY DOES NOT SHOW SOFTWARE HAD BEEN UPDATED. THE 3RD ISSUE: ENGINE STALL HAS OCCURRED IN DODGE GRAND CARAVANS 2008-2014. NHTSA INVESTIGATED THE TOTALLY INTEGRATED POWER MODULE (TIPM) FROM SEPTEMBER 25, 2014 TO JULY 24, 2015: 'THE PETITIONER ALLEGES THAT TIPM DEFECTS MAY RESULT IN ENGINE STALL [...]" ON SEPTEMBER 25, 2014, THE OFFICE OF DEFECTS INVESTIGATION (ODI) OPENED DP14-004 TO EVALUATE THE PETITION [...].' THE FINDINGS WERE 'THE MOST COMMON EFFECT OF THIS DEFECT CONDITION, RELATED TO THE FUEL PUMP RELAY, WAS A NO-START CONCERN, BUT IT COULD ALSO RESULT IN STALL WHILE DRIVING (76 COMPLAINTS). OVERALL, MY BATTERY DIED THREE TIMES IN A 6 MONTH PERIOD (FSM), THE CAR DOES NOT SHIFT INTO A HIGHER GEAR (PCM) ON A DAILY BASIS, AND FINALLY, THE CAR STALLED AND THE POWER STEERING LOCKED UP (TIPM). THESE CARS NOT ONLY HAVE ONE DEFECT, BUT IN LARGE PART, DEPENDING ON THE YEAR OF YOUR VEHICLE, THEY HAVE THREE DEFECTS!!!

THE VEHICLE WILL STALL WHILE I AM DRIVING ON THE HIGHWAY. IT HAS HAPPENED MORE TIME THAN I CAN COUNT. INITIALLY I WAS TOLD IT MIGHT BE AN ELECTRICAL ISSUE, SO THEY CHANGED THE SPARK PLUGS. THE CAR DIED AGAIN, HAD TO GET TOWED TO THE MECHANIC AGAIN. THIS TIME THEY SAID IT MIGHT BE THE BATTERIES. I CHANGED THE BATTERIES. THEN IT DIED AGAIN, THEY SAID IT MIGHT BE THE COMPUTERS, MIND YOU THIS IS A 2013 BRAND NEW VEHICLE, I AM CHANGING THE COMPUTER SYSTEM IN 2017 EVEN THOUGH IT HAD OVER 115000 AT THIS POINT. I AUTHORIZED THEM TO KEEP THE VEHICLE AND PUT AS MUCH MILES ON IT UNTIL THE PROBLEM REPLICATED ITSELF. THEY HAD IT FOR OVER 2 MONTHS. I GOT IT BACK IN AND IT DIED ON MY WAY TO WORK AGAIN. THIS TIME I WENT TO A DIFFERENT MECHANIC WHO IS NOT THE DEALER. THEY SAID IT WAS THE FUEL PUMP. I CHANGED THE FUEL PUMP, THE VEHICLE WORKED FOR 1 AND A HALF WEEKS BEFORE IT DIED ON ME AGAIN THIS WEEK ON MY WAY TO WORK. I HAVE CHANGED MOST IF NOT ALL PARTS OF MY FRANKENSTEIN VEHICLE, WHICH MIND YOU IS ONLY 4 YEARS OLD. AT THIS POINT I AM SO FRUSTRATED I DON'T KNOW WHAT TO DO. I HAVE SPENT OVER $5000 FIXING MY VEHICLE WITH NO GUARANTEE THAT SHE WILL NOT BREAK DOWN. I HAVE CONTACTED CAPITALONE AUTO FINANCE AND EXPLAINED THAT I CANNOT AFFORD TO KEEP PAYING FOR A CAR THAT I AM NOT USING. I CALLED DODGE TO REPORT THE ISSUE AND THEY SAID THEY CANNOT HELP ME. AT THIS POINT I AM GETTING READY TO FILE A LEMON LAW COMPLAINT AND USING SOCIAL MEDIA TO VOICE MY CONCERNS UNTIL MY ISSUE IS RESOLVED.

TIPM NEEDED TO BE REPLACED AT MY COST EVEN THOUGH THIS IS BEEN A PROBLEM IN OTHER DODGE VEHICLES. THE FUEL PUMP RELAY WAS NOT WORKING THE HORN STARTED GOING OFF FOR NO REASON AND THERE WERE STARTING ISSUES, WITH CAR EVENTUALLY STALLING WHILE MOVING. IT WAS OVER $1200 TO FIX. THEN, SIX MONTHS LATER THE CAR IS STILL NOT STARTING ACCURATELY AND WAS FIXED AT MY COST. A GROUND WIRE WAS PUT IN FROM THE BATTERY TO THE TRANSMISSION. I WASTOLD THIS WAS NOT PART OF THE TIPM ISSUE BUT THEY DID NOT KNOW WHAT WAS CAUSING IT. DODGES PROBLEM-SOLVING DATABASE SHOWED THAT THIS PROBLEM WAS FIXED IN OTHER DODGES WITH GROUND WIRE. THIS REPAIR WAS AT MY COST. LASTLY, THE VALVES AND GASKETS AS PART OF THE POWERTRAIN SYSTEM HAVE BEEN REPLACED TWICE IN LESS THAN TWO YEARS. THEY ARE UNDER WARRANTY AND THE REPAIR WAS NO COST TO ME, BUT THEY'VE HAD TO BE REPLACED TWICE.

MY HUSBAND HAD LOADED THE STROLLER INTO THE TRUNK AND THE BABY INTO THE VAN. WHEN HE SHUT THE TRUNK, THE LIFT ARM ON THE THE PASSENGER SIDE ON THE VEHICLE POPPED OFF AND CLOSED BETWEEN THE GALAS AND THE VAN, CAUSING A HUGE BANG AND GLASS SHOOTING OUT EVERYWHERE AT MY HUSBAND AND EXPLODING INTO THE CAR WHERE MY BABY WAS REAR FACING AT THE TIME. IT CAUSED DAMAGE TO THE LIFT ARM, SHATTERED MY ENTIRE BACK WINDOW, AND DENTED THE BACK SIDE OF THE BODY. I WAS IN COMPLETE DISBELIEF THIS HAPPENED. LUCKILY TWO WOMEN WHERE WALKING BY AND SAW THE ENTIRE THING HAPPEN. ONE OF THEM WORKS FOR THE BAR AND TOLD ME THAT THIS SHOULD NEVER HAPPEN AND I NEEDED TO REPORT THIS TO YOU GUYS.

I HAVE BEEN TRYING TO GET THE RECALL FIXED FOR MY CAR FOR 2 YEARS NOW AND TOBIN DODGE WILL NOT FIX IT!

AT JUST OVER 36000 MY ENGINE LIGHT CAME ON, I WAS TOLD THAT THE CAR NEEDED TO HAVE CYLINDER HEADS AND ANOTHER ENGINE PART REPLACED. WHEN I WENT TO PICK THE VAN UP THE CHECK ENGINE LIGHT WAS ON- I WAS TOLD THE PCM (POWER CONTROL MODULE) WAS BAD. AFTER APPROX. 10000 MORE MILES, WHILE DRIVING ON A LOCAL ROAD, ALL OF MY LIGHTS APPEARED ON MY DASH BOARD- THE VEHICLE WENT INTO SOME MODE AND I COULDN'T DRIVE OVER 25 MPH. I STOPPED AT A LOCAL AUTO PARTS STORE AND WAS TOLD THAT MY BATTERY NOW HAD A BAD CELL, THE ALTERNATOR WAS BAD- I TOOK IT TO THE DEALERSHIP AND I WAS AGAIN TOLD THE PCM WAS BAD. WHY IS THE PCM FAILING? AN ALTERNATOR AND BATTERY BEING BAD AT GOING AT 46000 MILES, JUST OVER 2 YEARS OLD. I SEE MANY OF THE CHRYSLER PRODUCTS HAD RECALLED ALTERNATORS- WHAT ABOUT THIS PCM? WHY IS CONTINUING TO FAIL?

LOUD CLICKING NOISE COMING FROM THE DASHBOARD AREA BEHIND THE STEERING WHEEL. SOUNDS HAS GOTTEN WORSE OR MORE WITHIN THE LAST WEEK. THE CLICKING NOISE COMES ON WHEN I LOCK THE VEHICLE WITH KEY REMOTE AND WITHOUT THE KEY IN THE IGNITION. CLEAN THE BATTERY POST AND HAD THE BATTERY CHECK, BOTH ARE GOOD. I LIKE MY VAN BUT THIS CLICKING NOISE IS ANNOYING AND I'M HOPING THE DEALER SHIP FIGURES OUT WHY THE CLICKING NOISE IS COMING FROM.

TOOK ANOTHER TWO TIMES TO THE DEALER AFTER WORDS WITH THE SAME ISSUES TILL FINALLY DEALER PHONE NUMBER FOR UCONNECT HELPLINE THEY REQUESTED DEALER TO KEEP THE CAR FOR THE 4TH TIME OF THE MONTH OF MAY THIS YEAR PROVIDE A RENTAL CAR. THEY CONTINUES TO BE IN THE DEALERSHIP NOW FOR 2 WEEKS. THEY FINALLY FOUND THE PROBLEM WITH THE RADIO(2 YEARS IT TOOK. RADIO OVER HEATING) AND REPLACING IT AND CONTINUE TRYING TO FIGURE OUT WHAT IS WRONG WITH THE GEARS,WHY VAN RUN. VAN HAS ANOTHER FRINT WHEEL PROBLEM TOO. MY ISSUE HAS BEEN SENT OUT TO THE RESOLUTION CENTER FOR CHRYSLER DODGE. MY CASE MANAGER ADVISED ME TO TRADE IN MY VAN. I THOUGHT THAT WAS AN ACCEPTABLE RESOLUTION FOR ME. THE VAN CONTINUES TO BE AT DEALER THEY ARE TRYING TO FIX IT THEY DON'T KNOW WHAT'S WRONG WITH IT.Y THE VAN IS UNSAFE TO DRIVE IT STAYS ON THE SAME SPEED NO MATTER WHAT YOU DO AFTER A LONG DRIVE YOU PUSH THE ACCELERATOR YOU LET GO OF THE ACCELERATOR AND IT STAYS ON 55 OR HIGHT SPEED NO MATTER WHAT. ACCELERATED AND PASSED THE SLOWER-MOVING VEHICLE AHEAD OF ME....UPON CLEARING THE VEHICLE I WAS PASSING, RELEASED MY FOOT FROM ACCELERATOR, BUT VEHICLE FAILED TO RETURN TO PRIOR PASS SPEED AND INSTEAD CONTINUED TO ACCELERATE FASTER. ATTEMPTED TO BRAKE....PUMPED THE BRAKE HARD WHEN THAT DIDN'T WORK BUT NO LUCK. HELD THE BRAKE PEDAL IN TO THE FLOOR AS FAR AS IT WOULD GO TO COUNTER THE ENGINE AUDIBLY REVING TO GAIN MORE SPEED (HOPING TO SLOW THE ACCELERATE PROCESS AS MUCH AS POSSIBLE AND MAYBE HOLD IT AT ITS CURRENT RATE DESPITE THE ENGINE STILL TRYING TO GO FASTER). I RODE OUT THE UNCONTROLLED ACCELERATION ISSUE UNTIL COMING TO A LONG TURN LANE WHERE I VEERED OFF TO GET AWAY FROM OTHER CARS. WTH A BUSY INTERSECTION APPROACHING QUICKLY AHEAD OF ME AND THE BRAKING NOT RESOLVING THE ISSUE, I THREW THE VEHICLE INTO PARK AND AFTER A BRIEF TIME IT FINALLY SLOWED TO A STOP. THIS IS THE ONLY THING THAT WORKED...I EVEN CHECKED TO SEE IF GAS PEDAL WAS PHYSICALLY STUCK SOMEHOW ON THE FLOOR MAT (IT WAS NOT), AND LIFTED UP FROM UNDERNEATH IT WITH MY FOOT TO VERIFY THIS, DURING THIS ATTEMPT TO REGAIN SPEED CONTROL..I BELIEVE IT WAS THIS IN ADDITION TO PUTTING VEHICLE IN "PARK" THAT ACTUALLY STOPPED THE ENGINE ACCELERATION/REV SO THE VEHICLE COULD PHYSICALLY STOP... II IS VALID TO NOTE THAT I PREVIOUSLY TOOK THIS VEHICLE INTO THE DEALERSHIP (AROUND 36000 MILES) FOR EVALUATION WITH PRIOR CONCERNS OVER THE ENGINE/TRANSMISSION NOT SEEMING TO FUNCTION RIGHT/SMOOTHLY....THE DEALERSHIP REPORTED THAT "THEY COULD FIND NOTHING WRONG WITH IT." & IT WAS RETURNED TO ME WITH NO ADJUSTMENT/REPAIR. THIS VEHICLE HAS SEVERAL OF THEORY SAME COMPLAINTS ON THE WEB (ACCELERATION STICK/ENGINE/TRANSMISSION) OVER A SPAN OF SEVERAL YEAR MODELS & NOTHING IS BEING DONE ABOUT IT OR EVEN ACKNOWLEDGING IT...HUGE SAFETY ISSUES HERE.
