I have a 2014 Dodge Caravan.The van only has 48 k miles. The battery went bad so I replaced the battery. Then the problem started. 1st the car will NOT turn off. I remove the key and the engine is still running and won't turn off. I had to remove the ASD relay which was very hot. Once I was able to shut down ,now the dashboard shows the car in reverse but it is actually in park and won't come out of gear. The check engine light is on, the tire is low light is on, and the car with tire tracks is on,(abs). I looked up recalls and they have had a recall on the fuelpump relay .

First, the back hatch would just open itself even if you were going 30 miles an hour or under. Had it checked out couldn’t afford the diagnostics so I took out the fuse. Second, there is a ticking in my right back corner. It doesn’t happen when you’re going down the road, but it happens while you’re parked or just starting out. Mechanic friend of mine checked into it we would have to trace the electrical from front to back and again, I cannot afford that. So there’s 135,000 miles on my vehicle now and this happened about six months ago. I forgot there was a place to report it. I’m not very car savvy. Also, I had to replace my entire starting my starter, my alternator, a battery actually too and now I’m going to have to replace the switch for the ignition that’s all happened within one year or less. Just thought somebody should report these each time I fixed an ignition issue, the problem was fixed for at least a month or two and then the next one would happen. Very aggravating.

The contact owns a 2014 Dodge Grand Caravan. The contact stated while driving at an undisclosed speed at night, the vehicle lost motive power. No warning light was illuminated. The contact was able to restart the vehicle. The vehicle was not diagnosed or repaired by an independent mechanic or dealer. The contact related the failure to NHTSA Campaign Number: 14V373000 (Electrical System, Air Bags); however, the VIN was not included in the recall. The manufacturer was made aware of the failure. The failure mileage was approximately 178,000.

I have a problem with fuel pump circuit .it stays open and drain the battery after I shut the car off ,the problem with the fuel pump rely witch s integritated in the TIPM, to solve the problem I have to replace whole TIPM wich is cost $1070. All Dodge Grand Caravan model 2010 to model 2020 have same problem . Please liste this problem as a recall. Thanks for understanding.

Hello,my concern is safety and All of the recalls,have never been sent to my mail/honored.There seems to be safety issues with the 2014 Dodge Grand Caravan engines,transmissions,tp sensors,door bend agitator.Theres more but Id rather have a safe healthy outcome.Also my vehicle accelerates at a un safe speed of over 80 mp when at 30 mpg without my foot even being on the pedal??? Oh my not safe,and police have to help stop vehicle on freeway with 5 lanes of ongoing traffoc very unsafe and scarry.Please help get these issues fixae asap .Thank you

The vehicle suddenly shuts down while driving creating a dangerous situation. The dealership diagnosed it as a faulty ignition switch and said it is common and that there was the same issue on previous generation of caravan that was recalled. I have it scheduled for replacement and will ask for the old part back.

Vehicle started on fire while parked. It was a total loss. The auto shop reported that the fire started due to faulty wiring under the driver side seat. Specifically, related to the harness wiring. Thankfully this didn't start while I was driving. I have seen other reports on this website for similar fires on the Dodge Grand Caravan AND an actual recall for the Crysler Town and Country for similar fires related to faulty wiring. That vehicle is almost identical to the dodge grand caravan. Something need to be done before a loss of life incident...I reached out to Dodge to notify them, and an investigator sent me a same day email that Dodge is not responsible. I only had 65,000 miles on this 2014 DGC and took great care of it.

Both sliding door lock actuators buzzed and stopped functioning properly, causing them to need to be replaced. This has been difficult to have the doors close and get the kids in and out. Tpms failing, pressures correct on newer tires light keeps coming on.

The contact took the vehicle to the local dealer, where it was diagnosed with needing an unknown component on the dashboard to be replaced. The vehicle was repaired. In October 2022 I was driving down a residential road and slowed to turn into a parking lot and all power was lost. Was able to safely maneuver car and stop in parking lot. Put car in park, turned off the ignition. Restarted car, seemed ok. Mechanic said nothing was wrong. Now it’s happened twice more (April 14th and 17th, 2023). Once when trying to accelerate and merge onto a highway, once when slowing down to turn into a driveway. Both times the van just seemed to shut down and lose power. Steering became very difficult. Both times van restarted and continued driving after the incident. Waiting on word from mechanic to see what may be wrong.

The vehicle has shut itself off multiple times. It is seemingly random and happens without warning. It has happened when driving at slow speeds but it has also happened when driving at speeds of up to 60 mph and the vehicle loses power. We need to maneuver through traffic while coasting to the side of the road with no power steering available until the car is restarted. The dash goes blank and the car is rolled to a stop. The key is turned off and back on and the car drives as if nothing is wrong. It has been brought to a mechanic and dealer. No one has successfully duplicated the issue and there is no code issued after it happens.

First I would like to say I love my van. I did buy used approximately three years ago and it was in great shape. Did not like the fact that I’m not able to check or do anything with my transmission without going to the shop but I was never informed of that prior to purchase. As far as the electrical goes the radio will just stop working no reason whatsoever and then it to work again later. And my back hatch opens whenever it wants! Going down the road parked in the driveway doesn’t matter. For the time being because I’m on a little bit of income I had to pull the fuse for that rear door. The only problem is it won’t even open manually without the fuse in it. Any suggestions

Hello good morning I have a serious situation. On April 20, 2022, my 2014 Dodge minivan caught fire at 3:00 a.m. Yes. no explanation. After searching the internet I realized that the same thing has happened to many people with these cars. Look on the official Dodge website, make a claim and they gave me an appointment to see my car on May 24 at Triangle Chrysler in Ponce, Puerto Rico. Later I called today May 27, 2022 to see the result of the investigation and they say that they are not responsible and they do not give me any other explanation. My van is a total loss, everything burned inside. I feel very sad and disappointed as the fire started inside the car in the middle of the morning and it is exactly the same as the recall of this car says. I don't have insurance that covers those damages, nor do I have money to buy another one. I lost everything. I need immediate help. search the internet co. the vin number of the car and the factory recall appears but nobody ever sent me any notification. what can i do i need help

within in the past month the following issues took place: 1. vehicle would not start (battery is less than 1 year old) vehicle was jumped 2. while backing out of the drive way, midway into the street, the car shut off completely and would not start. Engine was running fine, wasn't a "stall". All electrical components shut off. While attempting to put car in neutral to push, the vehicle than started. 3. The day prior to this, my wife reported that while driving on the highway the dashboard lights completely shut off, they then started flashing on and off while driving. 4. This same issue happened on 10/30/21 The car has not yet been taken in for service for this problem. After the incident listed in #4 the battery warning light remained on.

The electronic component in the left passenger sliding door that operates and opens the door does not work. The door does not open manually without this functioning. I looked on line and found that this is common with this make and model of a van specifically to the left passenger sliding door malfunctioning (driver's side passenger sliding door). This is potentially dangerous for passengers in the back riding if an accident occurs. I had my vehicle in the shop for other repairs and had a mechanic at two different places confirm that it is the automatic door opener mechanism that has failed to operate the door. I would like this remedied for everyone experiencing this same malfunction to ward off safety concerns. The cost to repair this is going to be close to if not $1,000.00. I have the part on order now and I am waiting for an appointment. Should there be a recall, I would like reimbursement for cost.

Loud buzzing sound when left rear sliding door locks. Apparently it is an actuator or something. Terrifying because the doors lock when you start driving. It is startling me each time. Door recently would not open. It is not opening but the buzzing is loud and new.

This is the second time my driver side window motor has gone out. I know this is not a normal wear a d tear issue. The shifting column had the plastic cover just pop off(I guess the glue melted or it wasn't even secured in the first place. Driver side seat plastic covering over the switches disconnected from whatever it was connected too. As much as these cars are priced and sold, might as well by power wheel toy, because that's the quality. The control panel keeps flickering for the passenger doors and trunk. It's hit or miss if the rear hatch opens and sometimes we open the idimf door and it will close halfway to opening. I have had the car multi point inspected at a dodge dealership in January due to the sliding door malfunction as well as a major oil leak and repaired but the amount of electrical issues has been ongoing since purchase!!

Was driving onto a narrow 2 lane elevated bridge when, without warning, the engine just stopped. There were no warning lights or sounds before or after the engine stopped. I was stranded on this bridge on busy route U.S 17 and no other drivers could go around me because of construction barriers. Eventually some other drivers that were stuck behind me helped me push vehicle to crest of bridge and I coasted to the bottom of the bridge and got out of the roadway. Vehicle was towed to Dodge dealer because it would not restart. Dealer diagnosed problem as Totally Integrated Power Module (TIPM). Cost to repair was $1382. It became quite apparent to me that Chrysler-Dodge has made a fortune replacing these parts on many of their vehicles, to the level that would indicate that there is some defect in the design or manufacturing of these parts. I have since read hundreds of stories about other drivers left stranded in the roadway over this issue. Certainly seems dangerous enough to warrant a safety recall over these numerous part failures.

The drivers side passenger door (slider) opens and shuts but must not be fully latching because you can hear the motor in the door trying to latch and it sounds like its continually trying to latch and just keeps going off when it's super hot out and it has now killed the battery in the van. When I was able to drive the van it would chime and say the door was open and continue sounding like it was trying to latch. We bought the van at the end of February so I have no idea if it ever happened to the previous owner.

The rear sliding door on the driver side started having a buzzing noise when the door auto locks or when the power lock is used. My local Dodge dealership said the lock actuator is going bad and will eventually cause the door to pop back open causing a safety hazard. They also said they have changed countless actuators on these vans. I feel there should be a recall on these to correct this issue.

The fire department was called to the scene and extinguished the fire. A fire report was filed which indicated that the fire was caused by an electrical fault at the rear of the vehicle. The vehicle was destroyed. The vehicle was towed away from the scene. The manufacturer and local dealer were not notified of the failure. The failure mileage was 35,800.

THIS VEHICLE IS EQUIPPED WITH HAND CONTROLS FOR A DISABLED DRIVER. WITH ONE HAND ON THE STEERING WHEEL AND ONE HAND ON THE BRAKE LEVER ALL YOU CAN DO IS COAST TO A STOP. YES THE SAME FAILURES AS THE 2008 THRU 2010 GRAND CARAVANS THAT WERE RECALLED. THE IGNITION SWITCH HAS A WEAK DETENT SPRING IN IT. WE HAD THE SWITCH AND BOTH KEYS REPLACED AT A LOCAL DEALERSHIP IN RURAL WISCONSIN THAT JUST HAPPENED TO HAVE THE SWITCH IN STOCK. TOOK ABOUT 10 MIN BEFORE I WAS ABLE TO START THE CAR AGAIN. WHILE SITTING IN A BUSY TURN LANE AND NOT EVEN HAVING HAZARD LIGHTS WORK WITH KIDS IN THE CAR. TOOK CAR TO GET BATTERY, ALTERNATOR, AND STARTER CHECKED. ALL CHECKED OUT GOOD. FRIDAY 3/29/19 WHILE DRIVING AT 45 MPH(8:30 AM) CAR DASH LIGHTS BRIEFLY FLASH AND CAR TURNS OFF. AGAIN NO POWER STEERING, BRAKES ECT. WAA ABLE TO COAST TO SIDE OF RODE. COULDN'T EVEN TAKE THE KEY OUT. ALSO TOOK ABOUT 1.5 HRS BEFORE IT WOULD START AGAIN. EACH OCCURANCE HAS ALSO SET CLOCKS BACK TO THE 12:00 TIME. RESEARCH HAS SHOWN ME THAT IT IS A COMMON PROBLEM WITH THIS VEHICLE AND THAT IT IS THE FUEL PUMP RELAY. THIS PART WAS RECALLED ON DURANGOS AND JEEPS BUT CARAVAN DID NOT MAKE THE LIST. ALTHOUGH PER WHAT I HAVE READ ON THIS SITE AND VARIOUS OTHERS IT IS AN OBVIOUS COMMON PROBLEM. VEHICLE IS AT 68,000 AND IS BEING TAKEN IN ON SUNDAY 3/31/19. WHERE I HAVE ALREADY INDICATED TO MECHANIC WHAT I WANT REPLACED DUE TO THE FACT IT IS NOT AN EASILY REPLICATED PROBLEM ON COMMAND AND THERE IS NO CODE TO CHECK. I HAVE SINCE BEEN MADE AWARE THAT THE TIPM IS FAULTY. I HAD A PROBLEM WITH THE AIRBAG LIGHT AT MILE 172 WHEN I FIRST BOUGHT THE VEHICLE NEW. AT THAT TIME, I WAS TOLD THAT THE ORIGINAL TIPM WAS FAULTY AND IT WAS REPLACED. 55000 MILES ON THE VEHICLE, AND WE ARE WORKING ON TIPM NUMBER THREE. BOTH OF OUR TIPM ISSUES HAVE INVOLVED AIRBAG FUNCTION, WHICH MAKES THIS A DANGEROUS PROBLEM.

THE VEHICLE WAS SERVICED LAST YEAR FOR THE SAME ISSUE. THE HEAD WAS REPLACED TWICE THEN THEY REPLACED THE WIRING HARNESS FOR THE MAIN COMPUTER. THE VAN STILL HAS THE ISSUE THAT COMES AND GOES. IT WILL BE FINE ONE DAY AND THEN ONE DAY GOING UP A HILL IT WILL GET REAL JERKY AND BUMPY FOR ANOTHER FEW DAYS. IT HAPPENED LAST FEBRUARY SO WE TOOK IT TO A LOCAL DEALER WHO REPLACED THE OIL SENDING UNIT UNDER WARRANTY. ALSO THEY HAD TO REPLACE THE ALTERNATOR AND BELT WHICH WAS $700 OUT OF POCKET. I FEEL THERE IS SOMETHING WRONG WITH THIS ENGINE BECAUSE OTHER PEOPLE ARE COMPLAINING ABOUT THE SAME THING. THEY REPLACED A HEAD ON 1-15-2016 THEN REPLACED IT AGAIN ON 1-29-2015. THEY REPLACED THE WIRING HARNESS ON 3-4-2016. THE ALTERNATOR AND BELT WAS ON 2-27-2017. NOW WE HAVE THE SAME ISSUE HAPPENING AGAIN.

THE FIRE STARTED WHILE WE WERE DRIVING THE VEHICLE. I RECENTLY FOUND A DEFECT INVESTIGATION TO DO WITH 2008-2014 CHRYSLER TOWN AND COUNTRY AND DODGE GRAND CARAVAN TIPM MODULES THE NHTSA ACTION NUMBER WAS DPI4004 AND ALSO STATED OTHER VARIOUS ISSUES INCLUDING THE FAILURE OF THE INSTRUMENT PANEL. WE ALSO HAD THE INSTRUMENT PANEL SHUT DOWN WHILE DRIVING A WHILE BACK, BUT EVERYTHING CAME BACK ON AND THIS INCIDENT HASN'T HAPPENED AGAIN. I AM CONCERNED WITH THE SAFETY OF THE VEHICLE AND WANTED TO MAKE PEOPLE AWARE OF THE ISSUES I HAVE HAD. IT SEEMS REALLY FISHY THAT THERE WAS A PREVIOUS INVESTIGATION INTO THE TIPM MODULE, AND THAT TWO OF THE INCIDENTS THAT I HAVE EXPERIENCED ARE CALLED OUT IN THE REPORT MENTIONED ABOVE.

CALLED AAA AND TOW TRUCK DRIVER LOCATED AND REMOVED FUSE TO SHUT DOWN RUNNING VEHICLE. HAD VEHICLE TOWED TO CHRYSLER DODGE DEALERSHIP. AFTER A WEEK STILL HAVE NOT HEARD FROM DEALERSHIP SERVICE DEPARTMENT OR CHRYSLER. THE VEHICLE BEING STUCK WITH THE ENGINE RUNNING EVEN WITH IGNITION KEY REMOVED AND SUBSEQUENT RAPID OVERHEATING AND LOSS OF COOLANT PRESENTED AN EXTREMELY DANGEROUS SITUATION WITH THE STRONG POTENTIAL FOR A VEHICLE FIRE. THE TPMS LIGHT MALFUNCTION LEAVES THE DRIVER UNABLE TO DETERMINE IF THERE REALLY IS AN UNDERINFLATED TIRE AND/OR TIRES. THE ESC LIGHT MALFUNCTION LEAVES THE DRIVER UNABLE TO USE THIS FUNCTION FOR IMPROVED THE VEHICLE'S TRACTION IN VATIOUS SITUATIONS.

DURING TRAFFIC AT ROUGHLY 10PM, THE CHARGE INDICATOR LIGHT CAME ON. OUR VEHICLE ALL OF A SUDDEN STARTED LOSING POWER ON THE FREEWAY. BY THE TIME WE GOT TO THE NEXT EXIT, WE WERE LOSING POWER WITH STEERING, CAUSING US TO CRASH INTO A FIRE HYDRANT. WE WERE ABLE TO GUIDE IT INTO A PARKING SPOT BEFORE LOSING THE REST OF THE ELECTRICAL CAPABILITIES (WINDOWS, LIGHTS, ETC.). MY FAMILY WAS STUCK IN THAT DESOLATE ARE WITH NO WAY TO CHARGE OUR PHONE AND TWO SLEEPING YOUNG CHILDREN. AFTER GETTING IT TOWED, THE VEHICLE ENDED UP IN THE SHOP FOR A LITTLE UNDER 3 WEEKS FOR REPAIR TO THE COLLISION THAT HAD OCCURRED. THE ELECTRICAL CHECKED GOOD. THE NEXT DAY, THE CHARGING INDICATOR LIGHT AGAIN WENT ON AFTER BEING ON THE ROAD FOR ROUGHLY 18 MILES. THANK GOODNESS THIS TIME IT ALL HAPPENED IN THE DAY AND WE WERE STUCK IN A BETTER AREA. AFTER CHECKING GOOD AGAIN AT THE COLLISION CENTER, THE VEHICLE WAS TRANSFERRED TO THE DODGE DEALER FOR FURTHER DIAGNOSIS. THIS IS WHEN THEY FINALLY PINPOINTED IT WAS AN ALTERNATOR ISSUE. THANKFULLY THE VEHICLE IS STILL UNDER WARRANTY.

ON 1-13-15 WITH THE COMPLAINT THE RADIO FUNCTION / STATION /TIME DISPLAY IS SO DIM THAT IT CAN NOT BE READILY BE SEEN IN DAYLIGHT UNLESS IT HAPPENS TO BE SHADED . ON A BRIGHT SUNNY DAY, IT IS ALMOST IMPOSSIBLE TO READ IT, EVEN THE TIME DISPLAY IS HARD TO READ. I WAS SURPRISED WHEN THE DEALER TOLD ME IT WAS NORMAL. THE SAFETY ISSUE IS VERY CLEAR TO ME. IN ORDER TO EVEN SEE THE TIME, A DRIVER HAS TO TAKE THEIR EYES OFF THE ROAD AND LOOK AT IT FOR A LONGER THAN NORMAL TIME. SAME FOR SEEING THE RADIO FUNCTION OR STATION. ALSO A DRIVER MAY SHADE THE DISPLAY WITH THE RIGHT HAND IN ORDER TO SEE IT. GM VEHICLES ALL HAVE A BRIGHT CLEAR DISPLAY THAT CAN BE SEEN IN THE STRONGEST SUNLIGHT. I CAN SAY FOR SURE THAT ACCIDENTS ARE GOING TO HAPPEN BECAUSE PEOPLE WILL BE TAKING THEIR EYES OFF THE ROAD AND RIGHT HAND OFF THE WHEEL TO SEE THESE RADIOS. WHEN I CALLED THE DEALER WE USUALLY USE (NIKLES IN PETERSBURG, IL) THE VERY RUDE SERVICE GUY TOLD ME THAT THEY DID NOT HAVE THE PARTS IN, DID NOT KNOW WHEN THEY EXPECTED THEM, AND WOULD NOT ORDER THEM. BASICALLY, REFUSING TO DO THE REQUIRED RECALL REPAIR. I HAD TO CALL ANOTHER DEALER AND THEY WERE VERY NICE AND EXPLAINED THAT I NEEDED TO BRING THE CAR IN AND THEY WOULD NEED TO QUICKLY CHECK AND SEE IF I HAD A GREEN OR BLUE SWITCH AND THEN THEY COULD ORDER THE PART AND COMPLETE THE REPAIR. I CAME OUT OF MY HOUSE ON FRIDAY MORNING (09/26/2014) TO FIND MY VAN PARKED IN MY CARPORT WITH THE ENGINE RUNNING. APPARENTLY MY CAR HAD STARTED THE ENGINE AND RAN FOR ABOUT 20 MINUTES BY ITSELF WITH NO HUMAN INTERACTION, THIS IS STRANGE BECAUSE I DO NOT HAVE A REMOTE STARTER AND IT DOES NOT HAVE THE ABILITY TO START ON ITS OWN. AS I APPROACHED THE CAR I COULD SEE THAT THERE WAS NO KEY IN THE IGNITION AND THAT THE DOORS WERE STILL LOCKED. I HAVE 2 KEY FOBS, BOTH WERE IN MY POSSESSION, AND USING ONE OF THE KEY FOBS I WAS ABLE TO UNLOCK THE DRIVERS DOOR. THERE WAS NO SIGN OF FORCED ENTRY, I AM THE ONLY ONE LIVING AT MY RESIDENCE AND NO ONE ELSE HAD ACCESS TO THE CAR KEYS. I FOUND THE IGNITION SWITCH WAS IN THE OFF POSITION SO I INSERTED THE KEY FOB AND TURNED IT TO THE ON POSITION AN BACK TO THE OFF POSITION SEVERAL TIMES BUT THE ENGINE CONTINUED RUNNING. I CALLED THE DEALERSHIP THAT SOLD ME THE VEHICLE AND TALKED WITH 2 DIFFERENT SERVICE TECHNICIANS BUT NEITHER ONE COULD OFFER AN EXPLANATION. THEY ASKED ME TO BRING THE VEHICLE IN FOR SERVICE, WHICH I DID AND I AM CURRENTLY WAITING ON THE DISPOSITION. AFTER I GOT OFF THE PHONE WITH THE SERVICE TECHNICIAN THE CAR STOPPED RUNNING AND I WAS THEN ABLE TO USE THE KEY FOB TO TURN ON THE IGNITION AND TO START AND STOP THE VEHICLE NORMALLY. I HAVE OWNED THE VAN ABOUT 3 MONTHS AND PRIOR TO THIS EVENT I NOTICED THAT MY POWER DOOR LOCKS WERE OPEN SOMETIMES AFTER I HAD LEFT THE CAR LOCKED. TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2014 DODGE GRAND CARAVAN. THE CONTACT STATED WHILE DRIVING APPROXIMATELY 5 MPH WHEN THE BRAKES WERE APPLIED THE ENTIRE INSTRUMENT PANEL ILLUMINATED CONTINUOUSLY. THE CONTACT ALSO STATED THAT WHEN THE VEHICLE WAS IN PARK IT WOULD NOT SHIFT INTO DRIVE. THE VEHICLE WAS TOWED TO THE DEALER, HOWEVER, THE CONTACT COULD NOT RECALL WHAT THE REPAIR WAS.
