Faulty active head restraints in both front driver and passenger seats, causing both units to deploy while driving, causing my driver to temporarily lose control of the vehicle.
I was sitting, idling in my car when my active headrest restrain system in my passenger seat suddenly went off. I am lucky no one was in my passenger seat and that I wasn't driving at that time. I looked more into it and it looks like the plastic encasing the metal bar which holds the headrest together snapped. Googling online I saw that this is a common issue with dodge, jeep, and Chrysler cars. I am now worried my driver side active headrest restraint system could go off while I am driving and cause an accident, as the passenger one definitely flew forward fast when it snapped.
Horn honks randomly will driving or turned off/parked. Windows go up/down on their own. Locks/unlocks. wipers turn on/off. Emergency flashers turn on/blink all on their own. Appears to be an issue with security system. Replaced TIPM and still having issues with all of the above. My truck is dead every day, replaced battery twice & crack shaft sensor, still having issues. There is a ticking noise and sounds like my truck is trying to turn itself on without the key in the ignition. Airbag light will not go off. This vehicle is 13 years old and Dodge needs to do a recall for all the issues people are reporting.
The airbag light came on intermittently but now has stayed permanently. The suspension of the car become almost uncontrollably bouncy with the slightest dip or hump on the road. The bouncing continues for a couple miles and at times does make steering difficult. The tires are 4 months old and the car has been serviced at regular intervals.

I just purchased a 2010 dodge journey. It has not been in an accident. This morning when getting in my car, I noticed the active headrest restraint has been deployed. I was not in an accident. The car with sitting in my driveway overnight.

ANOTHER INCIDENT THAT HAS HAPPENED SEVERAL TIMES IS THAT ALL THE DASH INDICATOR LIGHTS COME ON WHILE I'M DRIVING, IT PUTS MY CAR IN LIMP MODE, I THEN HAVE TO PULL OVER, SHUT THE CAR OFF AND THEN RESTART IT FOR IT TO BE OK AGAIN. THIS IS A REAL SAFETY CONCERN AS WELL, I COULD CRASH AND GET IN A SERIOUS ACCIDENT AND I TYPICALLY HAVE MY YOUNG KIDS WITH ME. I SEARCHED MY VIN TO SEE IF THE RECALLS HAVE BEEN DONE AND FROM WHAT I CAN SEE THEY HAVE, SO I DON'T KNOW IF THIS IS A REOCCURRING ELECTRICAL ISSUE OR IF THIS IS SOMETHING NEW.

I WAS DRIVING AT THE SPEED LIMIT ON INTERSTATE 5, (CALIFORNIA) WHEN A VEHICLE IN FRONT OF ME SWERVED PARTIALLY INTO MY LANE. IN ORDER TO AVOID HITTING SAID VEHICLE, I SWERVED TO THE RIGHT SLIGHTLY, AT THAT TIME I BELIEVE ENGINE DIED, AS I HAD NO CONTROL OVER SAID VEHICLE I COULD NOT STEER OR MANEUVER MY VEHICLE AT ALL. THUS IT WAS CONTINUING ON THE PATH OF THE SWERVE AND HIT THE WALL ON THE PASSENGER SIDE OF THE HIGHWAY. I AT NO TIME HAD ANY CONTROL OVER THE VEHICLE, THE CAR STARTED SPINNING FROM THE IMPACT OF THE WALL AND SENT ME ACROSS 3 LANES OF TRAFFIC AND I WAS HIT BY 2 CARS. THE ONLY AIRBAG THAT DEPLOYED WAS THE FRONT PASSENGER SIDE AIRBAG. (THERE WAS NO PASSENGER IN THAT POSITION.) I WAS IN THE DRIVER SEAT, AND MY SON (WAS 9 YEARS OF AGE AT THE TIME OF THE INCIDENT) WAS SITTING DIRECTLY BEHIND ME. WHEN THE CAR STOPPED, I WAS UNABLE TO REMOVE THE KEY FROM THE IGNITION, IT WAS LOCKED IN PLACE. ORIGINALLY, I BELIEVED THAT THERE WERE NO MAJOR INJURIES, ONLY BUMPS, BRUISES AND THE LIKE. HOWEVER IN THE MONTHS SINCE THE INCIDENT, IT HAS COME TO LIGHT THAT I HAVE TORN MUSCLES IN 1, MAYBE BOTH ELBOWS. I AM CURRENTLY UNDER A DOCTORS CARE, AND WILL BE REQUIRING SURGERY TO RECONSTRUCT THE MUSCLES AND TENDONS.

IF I HAD NOT CHOSEN TO HIT THE TREE, THE CAR WAS HEADED FOR MY FRONT PORCH/HOUSE WHERE MY GRANDCHILDREN HAD GONE TO CLEAR THE DRIVEWAY AREA. A CONTRACTOR WORKING ON MY NEIGHBOR'S PROPERTY CAME TO ASSIST ME AND TURNED OFF THE CAR ENGINE. THERE WAS A STRONG BURNING ODOR/CHEMICAL SMELL PERMEATING MY CAR AFTER THE CRASH. I BOUGHT A 2010 DODGE JOURNEY AND HAVE HAD MANY ISSUE. FIRST THE ALIGNMENT HAS ALWAYS GONE TOWARDS THE RIGHT AND HAS BEEN IN THE SHOP TWICE AND THEY SAID IT WAS FINE. I HAVE ALWAYS HAD PROBLEMS WITH THE NAV AND COMPUTER MUSIC SYSTEM. THE NEWEST AND WORST ISSUE IS IN LESS THAN 2 WEEKS HAS STOPPED WHILE I WAS DRIVING. I TOOK IT IN THE FIRST TIME AND THE SERVICE SAID THEY REBOOTED THE COMPUTER AND IT WAS FINE. FEW DAYS LATER I WAS GOING 40 DOWN THE ROAD AND THE CAR SHUT OFF AGAIN. BOTH TIMES THE CAR IS IN DRIVE AND THE KEY IS IN. IT IS NOW BACK IN THE SHOP AND I AM AFRAID THE AIRBAGS ARE NOT GOING TO WORK. I AM AFRAID THAT I WILL BE HIT AND INJURED. I HAVE 4 YEAR OLD TWIN BOYS. DODGE/CHRYSLER IS NOT HELPFUL AT ALL. I AM AFRAID TO DRIVE THE CAR. IT IS BACK IN THE SHOP AND FOR A CAR LESS THAN A YEAR OLD, I FEEL IT SHOULD WORK.
