TWO DAYS LATER WHILE DRIVING ON A CITY STREET THE POWER STEERING WENT OUT AGAIN. I LOST CONTROL AND ALMOST LANDED IN A DITCH. TOOK BACK TO THE MECHANIC AND THE SAME LINES BUT AGAIN.

IT HONKED TWICE BY ITSELF, CAUSING THE PERSON IN FRONT OF ME TO SLAM ON THEIR BRAKES AND ALMOST CAUSED A CRASH. THAT SAME DAY I HEARD IT WHILE THE VEHICLE WAS OFF. SHORTLY AFTER BEGINNING TO DRIVE THE CAR, THE TRACTION CONTROL LIGHT COMES ON, THE STEERING TIGHTENS UP AND THE BRAKES FREEZE UP. THIS HAPPENS ON COMPLETELY DRY ROADS. THIS HAPPENED 2 TIMES WITHIN 1 MILE OF EACH TIME. THE FIRST TIME I ALMOST WENT THROUGH AN INTERSECTION BECAUSE I COULDN'T GET STOPPED, AND THE SECOND TIME I ALMOST REAR ENDED A CAR. I HAD BOTH OF MY CHILDREN WHO ARE 7 AND 10 IN THE VEHICLE. THIS IS NOT THE FIRST TIME THIS ISSUE HAS HAPPENED. IT HAPPENED 6 MONTHS AGO, AND MY MECHANIC SAID THE CODE WAS A FAULTY TPM WHICH WAS REPLACED. IT THEN HAPPENED A MONTH AGO, AND THE MOST RECENT TIME WHICH WAS LAST WEEK. I'VE BEEN RESEARCHING THIS ISSUE AND IT SEEMS THAT THE DODGE JOURNEY HAS HAD THIS ISSUE, AMONG OTHERS. IT SEEMS AS IF THIS VEHICLE NEEDS A COMPLETE RECALL. SOMEBODY IS GOING TO END UP SERIOUSLY INJURED OR DEAD. I STILL OWE $10K ON MY VEHICLE AND CANNOT AFFORD TO BUY ANOTHER AND PAY THIS LOAN. I NEED TO GET RID OF THIS VEHICLE AND DODGE NEEDS TO TAKE RESPONSIBILITY.

UNCONTROLLABLE CONSTANT HORN HONKING WHILE THE VEHICLE IS DRIVING, WHILE ON OR OFF, ALSO KEY FOB DOES NOT START OR STOP THE NOISE. BEEN TO THE DEALERSHIP NON STOP SINCE GETTING THE VEHICLE AS WELL AS A FEW OTHER SHOPS AND NO ONE HAS BEEN ABLE TO COMPLETELY FIX THE ISSUE IT HAS CONTINUED TO RETURN. EVERY TRIP TO THE DEALER THEY HAVE TOLD ME THE VEHICLE IS FINE, ERASE ANY SENSORS THAT APPEAR ON THE DASH, AND SEND ME HOME UNTIL THE PROBLEMS CONTINUE TO HAPPEN. REMOVED THE FUSE TO SILENCE THE HORN NOISE BUT HAS CONTINUED TO DRAIN THE NEW BATTERY. HAVE HAD NO LUCK WITH THE VEHICLE AND NOW I CANNOT DRIVE IT BECAUSE IT KEEPS DYING. THIS ALMOST RESULTED IN A CRASH INTO ANOTHER VEHICLE AND THEN ALMOST A BARRICADE. THANKFULLY I WAS ABLE TO SOMEWHAT GAIN CONTROL OF THE VEHICLE. MY WIFE AND 10 MONTH OLD BABY WERE ALSO IN THE VEHICLE. I LATER LEARNED THAT THE POWER STEERING RETURN LINE HAD RUPTURED. I WOULD CONSIDER THIS A ISOLATED INCIDENT AND NOT A VEHICLE PROBLEM IF THERE WASN'T ALREADY A RECALL FOR OTHER DODGE JOURNEYS WITH THE EXACT SAME PROBLEM.

A WEEK AFTER PURCHASE CONSTANT SHAKE IN STEERING WHEEL, BRAKES AND ROTORS CHANGED ALREADY, CONSTANT BATTLE WITH GETTING IT STARTED, WILL CLICK AND RADIO, LIGHTS , AND ALL WORK. SOMETIMES 5 MINUTES SOMETIMES AN HOUR BEFORE IT WILL START. BATTERY TESTER, ALT, AND STARTER CHECKED. ALL CLEAR, THEN TO ADD TO ASK IF THAT IT ALL OF THE SUDDEN STARTS OVER HEATING ABOUT 10 MINUTES UP THE ROAD. REPLACE THE THERMOSTAT, FLUSH THE LINES AND IT STOP OVER HEATS. I CAN NOT AFFORD TO FIX ANY OF THIS AT THE SAME TIME! I HAVE 4 KIDS I NEED MY VEHICLE FIXED AND SAFE FOR THE ROAD ASAP.

THE MANUFACTURER STATES THAT EVEN THOUGH THIS MODEL YEAR AND ENGINE SIZE DO HAVE THIS RECALL BECAUSE IT DOES NOT HAVE AN ENGINE BLOCK HEATER IT DOES NOT QUALIFY. THE ENGINE BLOCK HEATER HAS NOTHING TO DO WITH THE POWER STEERING OF THIS VEHICLE. I BELIEVE THIS VEHICLE SHOULD BE COVERED BY THE S08 RECALL THAT OTHER VEHICLES OF THIS YEAR AND MODEL AND ENGINE SIZE ARE COVERED BY.

WE PARKED THE VEHICLE, OPENED THE HOOD AND THERE WAS POWER STEERING FLUID ON TOP THE ENGINE AS WELL AS SPRAYED UNDERNEETH THE HOOD. THERE WAS A RECALL FOR THIS ISSUE ON THE DODGE JOURNEY STARTING IN MAY 2016. CHRYSLER RECALL # S08. I CHECKED MY VEHICLE'S VIN WITH YOUR WEBSITE. IT CAME BACK AS NOT BEING INCLUDED IN THE RECALL. I HIGHLY RECOMMEND THIS BEING LOOKED INTO AS MY VEHICLE DISPLAYED THE EXACT ISSUES ON THE RECALL.

I THOUGHT THAT MAYBE MAYBE IT WAS PART OF THE SECURITY ON THE CAR AND THEN IT STOPPED ABOUT 5 MINS LATER. WHILE STILL PARKED. AFTER HAVING THE CAR LOOKED AT AND SPENDING MONEY I DON'T HAVE, IT WAS DETERMINED IT WAS DUE TO THIS RECALL. I HAVE MADE CALLS TO THE DEALER AND TO CHRYSLER. WHILE DRIVING MY VEHICLE ON A LONG DISTANCE ROAD TRIP, WHICH I DO QUITE OFTEN, THE STEERING WHEEL BEGAN TO VIBRATE AS I WAS DECREASING THE SPEED FROM 65 MILES PER HOUR. I HAVE SINCE HAD MY TIRES REPLACED AND THE TPMS ON ONE OF MY WHEELS BECAME CORRODED. THE PROBLEM STILL PERSISTED. I HAD MY BACK BRAKES REPLACED, THE PROBLEM STILL PERSISTED. THE BRAKE SYSTEM FAILED STARTING WITH THE CALIPERS & WAS RUBBING IN THE PAD CAUSING EXTREME WEAR & IS WAS SAID THE MANUFACTURED BRAKE ARE NOT MADE TO STOP A VEHICLE SO HEAVY AS OURS. AND FOR THAT REASON WE WERE TOLD TO FILE A COMPLAINT. I CALLED DODGE & WAS TOLD THE WARRANTY HAS EXPIRED & WE WOULD HAD TO PAY FOR IT ON OUR OWN. ALSO WHEN WE BOUGHT THE DODGE IN 2010 BRAND NEW THE ALIGNMENT WAS OFF & WAS PULLING TO THE RIGHT. AFTER HAVING THE ALIGNMENT & BRAKES REPAIRED FOR A SECOND TIME IN UNDER 2YEARS IT IS CLEARLY AN ISSUE WITH THE BRAKE SYSTEM. THIS TIME IT WILL COST US $575.00 TO REPAIR JUST THE BRAKE SYSTEM.. TWICE TODAY, MY 2010 DODGE JOURNEY SHUT OFF AFTER MAKING A RIGHT HAND TURN. THE VEHICLE STOPPED ACCELERATING AND BECAME DIFFICULT TO TURN. LUCKILY, I WASN'T IN BUSY TRAFFIC AND NO ONE WAS TURNING BEHIND ME. OTHERWISE, MY KIDS AND MYSELF COULD HAVE BEEN SERIOUSLY INJURED FROM AN ACCIDENT. TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2010 DODGE JOURNEY. THE CONTACT WAS DRIVING 40 MPH WHEN THE POWER STEERING FAILED. THE CONTACT WAS UNABLE TO CONTROL THE VEHICLE AND CRASHED INTO A CURB BEFORE THE VEHICLE STALLED WITH THE THE SBA WARNING LIGHT ILLUMINATED. DEALER FOUND CODE FOR #1 CYLINDER MISFIRE & A TSB TO UPDATE THE SOFTWARE. 2 WEEKS LATER IT RETURNED, WHEN THE LIGHT FLASHES THE STEERING WHEEL & FRONT END SHAKES. NO CODES, NO TSBS. IT RETURNED WITHIN 80 MILES OF LAST TRIP TO DEALER, THEY PERFORMED TSB 18-024-10 CRANK SENSOR SHIM, LIGHT RETURNED ALONG WITH THE SHAKING WITHIN DAYS. DEALER REPLACED FLEXPLATE. AGAIN THE LIGHT RETURNED WITHIN DAYS. NEXT THEY DID SOME FORM OF ENGINE CLEANING, LIGHT RETURNED WITHIN 500 MILES OF LAST ATTEMPT TO FIX. CODES ARE ALWAYS#1 CYLINDER MISFIRE & RANDOM CYLINDER MISFIRE. ON MAY 16TH THE DEALER LOOKED AT IT, DID A COMPRESSION CHECK OF THE CYLINDERS, ALL GOOD. CHRYSLER SUPPORT TOLD THEM TO CHANGE THE PCM. AS OF MAY 19TH IT WAS 7TH NATION WIDE ON BACK ORDER WHILE I CONTINUE TO DRIVE THE VEHICLE WITH THE LIGHT ON & INTERMITTENT SHAKING HOPING IT DOESN'T LEAVE ME STRANDED BETWEEN NOW & WHEN THE PART COMES IN AS THEY DON'T HAVE AN EXACT DATE. I HAD A 2010 DODGE JOURNEY THAT CAUGHT FIRE WHILE I WAS DRIVING AND PROCEEDED TO BURN TO THE GROUND. I WAS TURNING TO PARK IN FRONT OF MY FRIEND'S HOME, WHEN THE FIRE BURST OUT OF THE ENGINE, NEAR THE WINDSHIELD. THIS, ON ITS OWN, MAY NOT BE OVERLY MONUMENTAL, BUT THERE ARE MANY FACTORS INVOLVED THAT I BELIEVE NEED TO BE BROUGHT TO PUBLIC ATTENTION. FIRST, THE CAR WAS PURCHASED BRAND NEW OFF THE LOT 2 MONTHS PRIOR TO THE MARCH 11 INCIDENT. THE INSPECTION SHOWED THAT THE ISSUE THAT CAUSED THE FIRE WAS A DEFECT INVOLVING THE STEERING FLUID LINE....AN ISSUE THAT HAS OCCURRED MANY TIMES IN THIS VEHICLE!! THERE WAS A RECALL FOR THE 2009 JOURNEY, BUT NOTHING FOR THE 2010. SEEMS TO ME THAT WHATEVER THE TOLUCA MEXICO ASSEMBLY PLANT HAS BEEN DOING WRONG, HASN'T BEEN RECTIFIED!!! CHRYSLER NEEDS TO RECALL THIS VEHICLE AGAIN!!! CHRYSLER LEGAL, TOLD ME IT WASN'T GOING TO HAPPEN! SECOND, CHRYSLER LEGAL DEPARTMENT IS BEING EXTREMELY CURT, AND UNHELPFUL IN RESOLVING THINGS FOR US. THEY ARE 'ALLOWING' US TO KEEP OUR CURRENT LOAN IN PLACE (FOR THE CAR THAT EXPLODED) AND 'GIVING' US THE CURRENT MSRP ON THAT CAR (A 2010) TO FIND ANOTHER NEW CHRYSLER VEHICLE. THEN, THEY SAID THAT THEY MIGHT REIMBURSE A PERCENTAGE OF THE MANY THINGS THAT WERE IN THE CAR....LIKE MY 2 BRITAX CAR SEATS! AT THIS POINT, I'M INCREDIBLY FRUSTRATED, AND DESPERATE FOR THE MESSAGE TO GET OUT ABOUT HOW CORRUPT CHRYSLER IS, AND HOW DANGEROUS THIS VEHICLE IS. DEC. 29TH 2010. I HAVE A 2010 DODGE JOURNEY R/T. IT IS NOT EVEN A YEAR OLD. IT HAS TAKEN ME SEVERAL TIMES TO TURN THE CAR ON EACH TIME I GET IN THE CAR. IT STALLS WHILE I AM DRIVING. I BOUGHT A 2010 DODGE JOURNEY AND HAVE HAD MANY ISSUE. FIRST THE ALIGNMENT HAS ALWAYS GONE TOWARDS THE RIGHT AND HAS BEEN IN THE SHOP TWICE AND THEY SAID IT WAS FINE. I HAVE ALWAYS HAD PROBLEMS WITH THE NAV AND COMPUTER MUSIC SYSTEM. THE NEWEST AND WORST ISSUE IS IN LESS THAN 2 WEEKS HAS STOPPED WHILE I WAS DRIVING. I TOOK IT IN THE FIRST TIME AND THE SERVICE SAID THEY REBOOTED THE COMPUTER AND IT WAS FINE. FEW DAYS LATER I WAS GOING 40 DOWN THE ROAD AND THE CAR SHUT OFF AGAIN.
