About 3 months ago my check engine light and abs lights are permanently on and I barely have any drive power. I have fixed all possible issues and the lights are both still on and I don’t have much drive power while I drive.

Vehicle has oil cooler leak which plastic oil filter casing and oil cooler adapter cracked and leaked. Oil pooled up on top of engine casing channel below intake plenum and dripped down to electrical connectors that go into transmission. Engine oil heated and smoked because of heated motor and smoke goes into vehicle cabin causing oil smoke film inside with occupants. Oil mist is in the inside windshield and outside windshield along with wipers. There is a recall for this year journey 2015 this year engine 3.6 vet and transmission combination fwd 6spd ;however, the Vin number is not applying to correct the oil cooler and filter replacement under a recall. There is an upgraded part made that does not fail S44 recall; however I had to pay full price for the repair at a dealership and they replaced with the upgraded recalled part. The recall for this repair is S 44 why was not my Vin and vehicle covered under this recall number? Please Include my Vin number in this recall as well since everything is the same for S44.

Vehicle has P0740 code of which is a recall on the transmission pump. The recall is S 44 however my vin does not apply even though it’s the same make,model,year, engine and drivetrain as the recall. Please include my Vin number in the recall because the vehicle stalls/ hesitate when the gas pedal is applied and the transmission is trying to downshift when speeding up to change lanes. The situation is dangerous because the driver can lose control of the vehicle when planning to execute and not get a response from the vehicle when accelerating or changing lanes. The problem is more of a 2 to 3 second hiccup and the vehicle seems confused. Include this vehicle and my Vin number in the S 44 recall of which my dealership has stated it should’ve been included with the rest of the 2015 and 2016 caravan, dodge journey recalls. Chrysler (FCA US LLC) is recalling certain model year 2015-2016 Chrysler Town & Country, Dodge Grand Caravan vehicles manufactured July 31, 2015, to April 18, 2016, 2016 Dodge Journey vehicles manufactured August 17, 2015, to January 29, 2016, and 2016 RAM ProMaster vehicles manufactured August 15, 2016, to April 15, 2016. The transmission pump may seize causing a loss of hydraulic pressure.

The contact owned a 2015 Dodge Journey. The contact stated that while driving at approximately 45 MPH, she observed a burning odor and the vehicle then stalled. There were no warning lights illuminated. The vehicle was coasted to the side of the road where she observed smoke and flames from the engine compartment. An unknown driver stopped and used an extinguisher to extinguish the fire but the flames grew too large. The fire department extinguished the fire. A police report was filed. There were no other damages. The vehicle was towed to a lot where it was deemed inoperable. The manufacturer was notified of the failure. The failure mileage was approximately 160,000.

After buying used 2015 Dodge journey driving home from work at busy rush hour traffic my car just stopped with loss of brakes and steering was nearly rear ended was so nervous by this car started since then it keeps doing it but now check engine light is on I'm going thru divorce and he is incarcerated so I don't have a ton of money dealer wants be to pay I have since researched this online and find this to be a repeated over and over again problem this is the first Dodge vehicle I've owned and will be the last I do not feel safe driving this vehicle at all and I don't feel safe with the with Dodge if they're not going to stand behind their product I see that there was problems with that they took care of before the year 2015 but not since although it's the same problem I'm sick of being taken by these large corporations that just getting bigger and bigger on their greed while I struggle and have no help with the situation my car has been sitting for 2 months now in my garage although I'm making payments on it and can't get it titled

Today while driving on the highway at about 60mph my vehicle lost power causing the car to surge forward. I was unable to steer or brake for several seconds. The gauges completely dropped. It was as if someone had shut the vehicle completely off. The vehicle then restarted on its own. I was nearly rear ended by a semi and am terrified of driving this vehicle anywhere. I did a google search and came across numerous complaints of this happening. No warning lights prior to it happening or afterwards. We have had no issues with this vehicle until this point. It has approximately 90k miles on it.

I have had my car repaired a couple of time for the same issue, and both mechanics have told me that there is a recall on my cylinder 2 engine and the manufacturer was not saying anything which is causing the check engine light to come on and codes reading the same every single time: misfire, spark plugs and gaskets which have all been replaced twice in the 5 years of owning this car. The dealership won't help, if there is a recall or issue with my vehicles I need to know so I can transport my family and I safely back and forth. I see a lot of people complain about the same exact problem I'm facing currently. I'm probably out of about $5k maybe more.

The contact owns a 2015 Dodge Journey. The contact stated while driving at unknown speeds, the check engine warning light illuminated, the instrument panel flashed, and the vehicle turned off. The contact stated that the vehicle restarted approximately 15 minutes later and was taken to the residence. The vehicle was taken to the dealer where the flash software, power train control module, anti-lock brake system, wiring three-way, crankshaft position, and sensor battery were replaced. The contact received notification of the Emissions Recall U67 for the Catalytic Converter Efficiency, however, the part to do the recall repair was not yet available. The local dealer was contacted and confirmed that the parts were not yet available. The contact stated that the manufacturer had exceeded a reasonable amount of time for the recall repair. The manufacturer was not made aware of the issue. The failure mileage was approximately 100,101.

On/about [XXX] I was driving from St. Petersburg, Florida to Winter Park, Florida. I was eastbound on [XXX]. The traffic was heavy and therefore slow. As I was proceeding at about 35 mph, the engine suddenly died. The vehicle became difficult to steer and the brakes felt abnormally difficult to apply. I was able to coast to the small space that separated the inside lane from the divider separating the eastbound lanes from the westbound lanes. After coming to a stop, I put the car in park. I then tried to restart the vehicle. The vehicle started normally and I resumed my travel. My safety and the safety of other drivers was put at risk by the sudden stopping of the engine in the middle of traffic. The problem has not been reproduced or confirmed by a dealer or independent service center. Since the incident, neither the vehicle nor the engine has been inspected by the manufacturer, police, insurance rep or anyone else. This was not an overnight thing. The hoses were being exposed to maximum temperatures each time i drove the car. The hoses going from that extreme heat to cold over and over again which caused little air bubbles in the hoses. As time went on the hoses were forming holes on the inside (up til this point there was no warning indication) because of that three hoses burst. Which caused my car to overheat very suddenly to the point my oil temp shot sky high (which was the first warning light saying my oil was over 300 degrees) and my head gasket was blown before i could get off the road. My windows instantly fogged up from the heat which impaired my vision and resulting in me almost hitting another vehicle when seeking safety to see what was wrong. This has been confirmed by other consumer reports about the faulty hoses. If i knew they were not applicable of being in my vehicle, i would of changed them for more suitable hoses. Luckily nobody got hurt but the instant combustion could of ended in a fatality

Car's check engine on randomly turned on, lost engine power and steering became hard and had to come to an emergency stop. There was no message for the check engine and a couple tries later the car was able to turn back on and made it back home. Could've been much more dangerous situation had we been on a busy road with nowhere to pull over.

The acceleration stopped, the lightening light, traction light and skid light all came on and would not accelerate. Car was on but no gas pedal in the middle of the highway. Oil was changed a week before and no leaks on ground but oil is low. It is very dangerous as it has done this several times over the last month and has caused me to almost be in several wrecks because speed drops and cars almost rear end me. Have replaced the Crankshaft Position Sensor twice no in a month.

This vehicle has a known design defect with the oil filter housing and cooler assembly. This plastic assembly will crack and leak oil into a valley in the engine compartment and eventually will leak oil over the rest of the engine and onto the floor. Other times it will fail completely and leak a large amount of oil and/or coolant causing engine failure. Repair if this occurs out of the warranty period is over $800US. There are many web sites with this same information and they are all the same cause. Chrysler will not affect repair for this issue unless it is in the warranty period. Problem is the failure can happen during the warranty period or after but it WILL happen. This should be a recall due to potential safety issue. If this happens while traveling at highway speeds, the engine can sieze and suddenly stop possibly causing a crash and injuries to the occupants or other nearby vehicles. Attached is the diagnosis from my mechanic.

I have made several attempts to fix the continual misfiring, loss of power while driving performance to no avail. After spending thousands of dollars at the local Dodge dealership(s) and mechanics, I now have a car that is unsafe to drive due to known issues with the 3.6 Pentastar engine. This engine was recalled by Chrysler for years prior to my 2015 year. However, the Dodge cars like my Journey are experiencing the very same problems. I have reached out to my state of consumer department in Georgia. They have referred me to NHTSA as they have declared it a safety issue which outside of their scope.

I have to be extra cautious not to hit anyone or anything. I have had this car almost 2 years. It has been doing fine. I don't understand what could be causing this problem.

While following my fiancé after dinner her dodge journey completely shut off while driving but all the dash lights and radio stayed on. She was able to stop the vehicle safely bc I was following her and I was able to stop the traffic. She was still able to steer the vehicle and use the brakes. She stated that there was no warning or anything. I checked to see of any check engine light or anything was on but there wasn't. She did tell me it happen earlier that day at her work while she was standing outside of the car talking to her boss and the vehicle just shut off. My concern is if this happens again herself, my kids, or other individuals could seriously get hurt especially at higher speeds. She will be calling around to some mechanics and see if they can figure out the cause.

The contact owns a 2015 Dodge Journey. The contact stated while driving at approximately 35 MPH, the engine started to misfire and the engine warning light illuminated. The vehicle was taken to O'Reilly Auto Parts where it was diagnosed that the number three cylinder had a bad coil and needed to be replaced. The coil was replaced but the failure recurred. The engine warning light illuminated again. The vehicle was taken to the dealer where it was diagnosed that the number three-cylinder coil cracked and needed to be replaced. The vehicle was not repaired. The manufacturer was notified of the failure and the contact was provided case number 83819460. The failure mileage was approximately 50,000. The consumer stated the extended warranty for the cracks in the cylinder applies to the right side and not the left side of the cylinder. Also, the extended warranty did not include the consumers vin number. The consumer stated the vehicle was traded in for fear of paying another $4,000 in repairs.

My car has completely locked up going down the road as in I had gas to go but no power steering nothing overn2nd gear all safety lights came on no brakes and after i got it stopped and turned off it wouldn't turn back on. Now I have an issue with it stalling out after coming off an exit or just to a normal stop sign with no warning it jolts kinda shutters and shuts off acts as if it doesn't want to down shift or stop

The vehicle intermittently shakes at about 45-50 MPH. It sounds and feels as if you were going at accelerated speeds over rumble strips. Sometimes this is followed by hard engine thumping. I have noticed during rain and days leading up to rain the issue is more predominant. There are also issues with misfires at idle that is unexplained by several mechanic shops (11 in a matter of 3 years). Because they are unable to recreate any of these issues they are unable to diagnose them. I have been to numerous shops while my car was within warranty and denied any fix due to none of them being able to recreate this issue. Now my warranty is up and the issue still persists even after thousands spent on attempting to get a diagnosis. THIS IS EXTREMELY DANGEROUS! Complete stability and control of the vehicle is lost and WILL inevitably cause a serious incident. In the middle of the highway during misfires the cars ABS and Traction Control lights come on and the vehicle goes into low power mode almost instantly.

Car Engine Started knocking while driving home from work. No Check Engine Lights or warning Chimes, was not over heating. Car made a loud bang and blew out a puff of smoke. Was stranded along side a busy state route. Was towed to a local garage where they informed me that the engine was blown. They showed me the oil pan which had chunk of metal and pieces of a connecting rod in the pan. This car only had 76,000 miles and we have only had it for not even 6 months. Had an oil change 3 days prior to the failure. I’ve been buying dodge my entire life but this will be the last one. It was the family car so It put us in a tight spot. Cant get another car because we owe over $13,000 on the loan which still will have to be paid.

@roughly 87500 miles p0302 error with check engine light and slight vibration felt. Replaced all plugs + all coils no effect. additional research found known flaw in earlier years ref: service bulletin and extended warranty (X56) - 3.6L Left Cylinder Head - Select 2011 -2013 Vehicle. Called car manufacturer they referred to dealer saying warranty not extended for 15 year. Dealer states still known issue but cant help roughly 3800 out of pocket to fix. or we can contact FCA to beg them to fix. FCA referred back to dealer. You are my next step.

In 2/2021 After having dealership replace thermostat and front brakes/rotors, I got my car back and then the same day the ABS, Traction control and ABS lights were on the dash, so I returned to dealership, resulting in full corrosion on the wiring harness repair from water leakage and anti lock brake module replacement. Now in late Sept (less than 3000 miles later) the ABS, traction control and Service AWD light on the dash AGAIN and dealership said it niw needs ABS sensor replaced, the module had water in the ABS module. This is a safety issue with disables ABS and ESC disabled. This appears to be related to other similar complaints and Chrysler recall R61 for 2015 Dodge Journeys, but not showing up for my VIN.

While driving the steering wheel locked up and the brakes stopped working, the engine was still running. Breaks were extremely hard to press and was not able to turn the steering wheel at all. Was able to coast to a stop and place the car in park. Once I stopped I placed the car in park, turned off the car and restarted it and worked fine.

I noticed that my heater hose looked like it had some crusted coolant around the Tee joint. I looked closer and realized that the Tee joint appeared to be cracked on both bottom left and right side of the joint. I literally just grabbed it and it fell apart. I started to do my research and this happend to be a common problem that owners of dodge journeys are having because the factory Tee joint is made of plastic and is not made to with stand the heat. I went to an Auto Parts store and was informed that this part has not been released for aftermarket sale. So I called the dodge dealership and was told that I can not just buy the Tee joint. I have to buy the entire assembly with is around $200. I researched how much it would cost for part and labor if I didn't change it my self and that would cost $600. This is a Factory issuse so it should not be on the buyer's to have to change this part. It is a safety issuse because I have read that when people have had this issue while driving in the past that the car started overheating out of nowhere and clouds of white smoke poured out of the engine. This could obstruct the drivers view and cause a crash.

THE DASH FLASHED ON AND OFF SAYING FOB NOT DETECTED. TRIED PUSHING FOB, TRIED STARTING CAR AGAIN. THEN A LOUD CLICKING BEGAN AT THE FRONT OF THE VEHICLE IN THE MOTOR AREA. THE DASH FLASHING STOPPED AND ALL SCREENS WERE BLACK. NO POWER TO VEHICLE AT ALL, DOOR LOCKS DID NOT WORK. OPENED HOOD TO SEE WHERE CLICKING WAS COMING FROM, BUT COULD NOT DETECT. TRIED REMOTE START AND TRADITIONAL START AS WELL. NOTHING WORKS. ENGINE CLICKING FINALLY STOPPED AFTER ABOUT 10-15 MINUTES. CAR HAS TO BE OPENED WITH THE KEY AND WILL STILL NOT START.

HEAD ON COLLISION AT A TRAFFIC LIGHT. I WAS MAKING A LEFT TURN IT WAS RAINING AND THE OTHER CAR WAS GOING STRAIGHT . HE TOOK THE LIGHT ON RED AND WE BOTH HIT HEAD ON . I HIT MY HEAD ON THE STEERING WHEEL AND SIDE WINDOW . AIR BAG DID NOT DEPLOY HIT MY HEAD PRETTY BAD AND MY BACK AND NECK WERE IN PAIN HAD TO TAKE OFF WORK AND LOST MY ONLY CAR AND JOB . WENT TO THERAPY FOR A WHILE MY CONCERN WAS WHY DIDN'T THE AIR BAGS DEPLOY . THE OTHER CARS AIR BAGS DEPLOYED. I HAD AN EYE WITNESS AND POLICE REPORT BUT I STILL LOSS THE BATTLE . IN THE PAST 3 YEARS, WE HAVE HAD TO FIX DIFFERENT CYLINDER MISFIRES IN THE SAME ENGINE. THE FIRST WAS DONE IN 2017, THE SECOND JULY 2020, AND WE HAD THE THIRD MISFIRE ERROR CODE NOVEMBER 2020. THIS HAS BEEN COMMUNICATED TO DODGE, BUT NOT SURE IF A RECALL SHOULD BE MADE FOR THIS, OR IF OTHER HAVE EXPERIENCED THE SAME. THE MOST RECENT INCIDENT HAPPENED WHILE DRIVING. THE RECALL REPAIR WAS PERFORMED HOWEVER, CAUSED A FAILURE OF ONE OF THE PISTONS. THE CONTACT STATED THAT THE PISTON ROD PUNCTURED THE CYLINDER WALL CAUSING AN ENGINE OIL LEAK. THE VEHICLE WAS TOWED BACK TO THE DEALER AND THE CONTACT WAS QUOTED A REPAIR COST OF $8,000. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED. THE MANUFACTURER HAD NOT BEEN CONTACTED. THE VIN WAS NOT AVAILABLE. IT DID NOT SLOW DOWN IT DEACCELERATED. THERE WAS NO WARNING OR CODE ON PRIOR TO THIS HAPPENING. I WAS LUCKY THERE WAS NOT ANYONE BEHIND ME NOR ON A HIGHWAY. TOOK IT TO THE DEALER AND THEY SAID IT WAS "FAILED CRANK POSITION SENSOR." IT HAD A CODE OF P0339. WE PAID DEALER TO FIX IT - OBVIOUSLY. I NOTICED THERE IS A RECALL FOR CRANKSHAFT POSITION SENSOR ON 2016 DODGE JOURNEY - I BEG THAT YOU RECALL CANKSHAFT POSITION SENSOR FOR DODGE JOURNEY 2015.

KEY FOB SHOULD NOT GO OUT SO SOON. CAR DO NOT START. I CHANGED BATTERY. IT WILL UNLOCK AND LOCK DOORS BUT DO NOT START. I CALLED DODGE 8004236343 AND THEY TOLD ME THAT I CAN START IT WITH THE KEY BUT THERE IS NO WHERE TO PUT THE KEY OTHER THAN THE DOOR. THEN THEY ASKED ME TO PUT THE KEY FOB TO THE PUSH START ON THE OPPOSITE SIDE OF WHERE I INSERT THE EMERGENCY KEY AND PRESS TO START AND THAT DID NOT WORK. THEY WALKED ME THROUGH STEP BY STEP AND IT STILL DOES NOT WORK. PLUS MY CAR SHAKES WHILE DRIVING.

I HAVE A 2015 DODGE JOURNEY THAT HAS HAD MAJOR PROBLEMS WITH IT. BEFORE THE CAR WAS EVEN A YEAR OLD IT WAS TAKING INTO THE SHOP FOR TRANSMISSION PROBLEMS. THE CAR COMPLETELY SHUT OFF ON ME WHILE DRIVING IN THE MIDDLE OF A BUSY INTERSECTION WHILE I WAS TURNING LEFT. THE CAR WOULD NOT RESTART AND HAD TO BE TOWED TO THE DEALERSHIP. AT THAT POINT, THE SERVICE WAS ESCALATED TO A HIGHER DEPARTMENT AND A HIGH LEVEL REPAIR PERSON WAS BROUGHT IN. LESS THAN 15,000 MILES LATER, THE CAR BEGAN HEAVILY SHAKING EVERY TIME IT WAS DRIVEN. THE FIND WAS THAT THERE WAS A MISSING BOLT IN THE TIE ROD. THE SERVICE MAN SAID THERE WAS NO REASONABLE EXCUSE THAT COULD EXPLAIN HOW THIS WOULD EVEN OCCUR. TODAY, THE CAR IS IN THE SHOP FOR THE SECOND TIME IN THREE DAYS. INITIALLY FOR THE BATTER LIGHT COMING ON WHILE DRIVING. I WAS TOLD THERE WAS A LOOSE WIRE AND SOME CORROSION ON THE BATTER BUT THAT IT WAS REPAIRED. LESS THAN 24 HOURS LATER THEN LIGHT CAME ON AGAIN WHILE DRIVING THIS TIME WITH THE WARNING ON THE PANEL THAT READ BATTERY SAVING MODE. I IMMEDIATELY RETURNED THE CAR TO THE SHOP. WAITED ALL DAY YESTERDAY ONLY TO BE GIVEN THE SAME EXPLANATION THAT WAS PREVIOUSLY GIVEN. UPON FURTHER PROBING I DISCOVER THE CAR HAD NEVER EVEN BEEN RE INSPECTED. THE CAR CONTINUES TO BE IN THE SHOP HAS HAS BEEN UNDRIVABLE FOR 4 DAYS NOW. I HAVE A 6 YEAR OLD SONE WHO IS TRANSPORTED IN THE VEHICLE DAILY. I'M BEGINNING TO FEAR FOR HIS SAFETY IN THE CAR GIVEN ITS HISTORY AND WILL NO LONGER PLACE HIM IN HARMS WAY BY DRIVING IN THIS CAR. THE UNBELIEVABLE SERIOUS PROBLEMS THAT HAVE OCCURRED WITH THIS VEHICLE ARE ALARMING. ESPECIALLY, GIVEN THE FACT THAT THERE IS NO CLEAR EXPLANATION AS TO WHY THE ISSUES ARE ARISING. LUCKILY I WAS NOT MOVING AT THE TIME. 2. I RECEIVED AN TUNE UP AT APPROXIMATELY 95K MILES. ONE IF THE PISTONS WAS MISFIRING. I BELIEVE THE 6TH ONE WAS. BRAND NEW PARTS AND WAS INSTALLED BY A PROFESSIONAL MECHANIC. THERE IS A KNOCKING NOISE THAT WILL NOT GO AWAY. THE BELTS HAVE BEEN CHECKED. 3. WHILE OUT OF TOWN I WAS PARKING AND WHILE IN REVERSE IT BECAME HARD TO TURN. I LATER FOUND OUT THAT THERE WAS NO FLUID IN THE POWERSTEERING. THERE WAS A LOW FLUID INDICATION. .I IMMEDIATELY FILLED THE CAR UP WILL POWER STEERING FLUID. SINCE THEN IT HAS BEEN HARDER TO TURN MY WHEEL. IT STARTED OFF I COULD NOT TURN RIGHT WITHOUT A STRUGGLE. THEN IT WAS THE LEFT SIDE . THE ONLY WAY TO TURN IS TO ACCELERATE AND TURN. THIS CAME OUT OF NOWHERE. THE AGGRESSIVE PROGRESS IN THE LOSS IF STEERING ABILITY IS TROUBLING ESPECIALLY WITH SMALLER CHILDREN.

I HAD IT FIXED BUT CAR STILL WAS NOT DRIVING THE SAME AS BEFORE THE REPLACEMENT. 10 DAYS LATER THE SAME THING HAPPENED IN MY SUBDIVISION. THE ENGINE TURNED OFF AND I LOST STEERING AND BRAKES. CHECK ENGINE LIGHT CAME ON AGAIN. THIS TIME THE CAR WOULD NOT TURN OVER. IT WOULD TRY TO -YOU COULD HEAR THE ENGINE TRYING TO START. THE PROBLEM WAS THE ENGINE STALLING WHILE DRIVING. LOST THE ABILITY TO STEER AND BRAKE. I HAD THIS PROBLEM HAPPEN TO MY 18YR OLD DAUGHTER ON OCTOBER 9TH 2017. I CALLED THE DEALER ON OCTOBER 10TH WHERE WE PURCHASED IT TO EXPLAIN WHAT WAS GOING ON. THEY GOT IT IN THAT MORNING AND DROVE IT FOR ABOUT 30 MILES AND COULD NOT RECREATE THE PROBLEM. THEY SAID THE CAR DID NOT GIVE THEM ANY CODES TO TELL THEM WHAT THE ISSUE WAS SO THEY COULD NOT DO ANYTHING BECAUSE THEY DID NOT KNOW WHAT TO REPLACE. I AM NOT SURE IF THERE IS A RELEVANCE TO THE PROBLEM BUT A WEEK BEFORE THIS HAPPENED MY KEYFOB WOULD NOT WORK AT ALL. THE CAR WOULD SAY KEY NOT DETECTED. I HAD TO PRESS THE KEYFOB INTO THE BUTTON TO GET THE CAR STARTED. ONCE I GOT HOME, WHICH IS 15 MILES AWAY, I NOTICED THE TPM SENSORS WERE ONLY READING 1 TIRE PRESSURE. THE OTHERS WERE READING "---". THE KEYFOB BATTERY'S WERE REPLACED ON BOTH KEYFOBS TO MAKE SURE THAT WAS NOT THE ISSUE BUT IT DIDN'T HELP. I DISCONNECTED THE BATTERY TO RESET THE COMPUTER AND THE KEYFOBS STARTED TO WORK CORRECTLY. I DROVE THE CAR A FEW MILES AND THE TPM SENSORS STARTED TO READ. AGAIN I AM NOT SURE IF THIS IS RELATED BUT THOUGHT I SHOULD POINT IT OUT. DRIVING ON A MAJOR HIGHWAY WHEN ALL OF A SUDDEN, I NOTICED MY SPEED DROPPING. I PUSHED ON THE GAS BUT GOT NO RESPONSE. THEN TRAFFIC BEGAN TO STOP BUT I COULDNT! MY BRAKES DID NOT WORK!!! I PUT MY HAZZARD LIGHTS ON AND BEGAN TO DRIFT ACROSS 3 LANES OF TRAFFIC BECAUSE THE STEERING ALSO DID NOT WORK!!!! I ALMOST CAUSED SEVERAL ACCIDENTS AS I WAS UNABLE TO CONTROL MY VEHICLE. I MADE IT TO THE EMERGENCY LANE AND PUSHED THE EMERGENCY BREAK COMING TO A JOILTING STOP. ONCE I CAUGHT MY BREATH AND STOPPED SHAKING, I WAS ABLE TO RESTART THE VEHICLE. I THEN EXITED THE HIGHWAY AND CREPT ACROSS TOWN BACK TO THE DEALER WHERE I HAD JUST LEFT GETTING MY OIL CHANGED PRIOR TO THIS INCIDENT. THEY CHECKED OUT THE VEHICLE BUT FOUND NO BAD CODES OR ANY OTHER ISSUE SO THERE IS NO FIX FOR SOMETHING THEY COULD NOT RE-CREATE.. THIS IS MY 3RD JOURNEY (2010, 2011, 2015) AND I BELIEVE THIS IS AN ACCIDENT WAITING TO HAPPEN. I HAD NO ISSUES WITH THE PRIOR TWO YEARS. THE 2ND NOTICE WAS RECEIVED IN JAN16. I CALLED THE DEALER ON 1/4 AND 1/21/16 AND WAS TOLD THEY DID NOT HAVE AND DID NOT KNOW WHEN THEY WOULD HAVE THE PART TO MAKE THE REPAIR. THEY SAID THEY WOULD TAKE MY NAME AND NUMBER AND PUT ME ON THE WAITING LIST AND CALL ME WHEN THE PART WAS IN. IT IS 3/1/16 AND I HAD NOT HEARD FROM LANDMARK DODGE WHERE I PURCHASED THE VEHICLE FROM AND HAD BEEN IN CONTACT WITH. I CALLED THEM TO SEE IF THEY HAD THE PART AND GUESS WHAT THEY SAID THEY JUST HAPPEN TO GET 5 IN TODAY! HOWEVER THEY COULD NOT SCHEDULE THE REPAIR UNTIL 4/1/16. WE ARE TALKING ABOUT THE BRAKE SYSTEM HERE. 4 MONTHS TO DO A REPAIR THAT THE MANUFACTURER KNEW WAS REQUIRED FOR SAFETY SAKE. I REALLY FEEL THE NHTSA SHOULD LOOK INTO THIS. WHEN I ATTEMPTED TO START THE VEHICLE BY PLACING MY FOOT ON THE BREAK AND PRESSING THE START ENGINE BUTTON, THE CAR INITIALLY BEGAN TO START BUT THEN SHUT OFF (IT WAS ON A HALF TANK OF GAS). I RELEASED THE BREAK, AND THEN MADE A SECOND ATTEMPT; PRESSING THE BREAK AND PRESSING THE START ENGINE BUTTON. THIS TIME THE ENGINE REPEATED THE INITIAL VEHICLE START SOUND (AS IF IT WERE COUGHING), UNTIL I HIT THE START ENGINE BUTTON TO TURN CANCEL THE PROCESS OR TURN THE ENGINE OFF. THE VEHICLE STARTED SUCCESSFULLY ON THIRD ATTEMPT. WHEN I GOT HOME, I NOTICED THAT THE VEHICLE'S ENGINE ICON WAS ON - NOT BLINKING, JUST ON. I TURNED OFF MY ENGINE, AND THEN TURNED IT BACK ON AND THE ENGINE ICON LIT UP AGAIN. THIS MORNING WHEN I WAS DISCUSSING IT WITH MY HUSBAND HE LET ME KNOW THAT A FEW DAYS AGO THE JOURNEY HOOD WAS POPPED. I DON'T EVEN KNOW WHERE THE HOOD POPPER IS, AND NONE OF MY PERSONAL BELONGINGS GOT SNAGGED ON ANYTHING SO I DON'T BELIEVE I AM THE ONE WHO POPPED IT.

I HAVE HAD MY NEW 2015 JOURNEY SINCE MARCH 2015. THE FIRST INCIDENT WAS IN JUNE 2015. I WAS DRIVING AND MY CAR DIED WHILE DRIVING. I WAS IN THE MIDDLE OF THE ROAD THANK GOD NO ONE HIT ME FROM BEHIND. I PUT MY VEHICLE IN PARK AND RESTARTED IT AND IT STARTED SO I THOUGHT OK IT WAS A ONE TIME THING. NOPE AGAIN IN JULY IT DID THE EXACT SAME THING WHILE MY HUSBAND AND MY KIDS WERE IN THE CAR. THE CAR RESTARTED SO I TOOK IT IN TO THE DEALERSHIP FOR THE SECOND TIME WHERE THEY KEPT MY CAR FOR 2 DAYS AND COULD NOT FIND ANYTHING WRONG WITH IT. SO I TOOK IT HOME AND THE VERY NEXT DAY IT DIED AGAIN. I NOW HAVE A OPEN REPAIR CASE WITH CHRYSLER HOWEVER I HAVE BEEN GOING BACK AND FORTH LIKE A PING PONG BALL. I FEAR FOR THE SAFETY FOR MYSELF AND FAMILY AS I DO NOT TRUST MY CAR. WAS DRIVING OUTT OF STATE IN A 5 MONTH OLD VEHICLE. WE THEN STOPPED AT A FOOD PLACE FOR ABOUT 25 MINUTES. WHEN I TRIED TO START THE CAR, BRAKE PEDAL WAS HARD AND WOULD NOT GIVE WAY, DASH LIGHTS LIT UP RUN LIGHT AS WELL BUT VEHICLE DID NOT START. ON SEVERAL OCCASSIONS THE SAME THING HAPPENED WITH NO RESULTS. AFTER 5 ATTEMPTS, THE VEHICLE FINALLY STARTED AND THE CHECK ENGINE LIGHT LIT UP. LIGHT STAYED ON FOR 4 DAYS AND THEN WENT OFF. CONTACTED DEALERSHIP, AFTER INSPECTION DETERMINED CRANKSHAFT SENSOR MESSAGE WAS RECORDED. PART WAS ORDERED AND REPLACED. HOPE THIS FIXES THE PROBLEM. HAVE SEEN ALL OLDER MODELS HAVE SIMILAR ISSUES. HOPE DODGE ADDRESSES ANT EXSISTING ISSUES ON NEW MODELS.

WHILE DRIVING HOME MY 2015 DODGE JOURNEY (WHICH ONLY HAD 2,108 MILES ON IT) DIED WHILE DECELERATING TO TURN INTO MY NEIGHBORHOOD. PRAISE GOD, NO ONE WAS BEHIND ME AND I HAD TO CRANK THE WHEEL TO PULL OVER TO THE SIDE OF THE ROAD AS THE POWER STEERING AND BRAKES ALSO DIED. THERE WERE NO WARNING SIGNS, INDICATORS, LIGHTS, ETC. I PUT THE CAR IN PARK AND HIT THE START BUTTON AND IT STARTED RIGHT UP. I IMMEDIATELY CALLED THE DEALERSHIP AND TOLD THEM I WOULD BE BRINGING IT TO THEM IN THE MORNING. THEY HAVE NOW HAD MY CAR FOR 5 DAYS AND CAN'T FIND ANY ERROR CODES IN THEIR COMPUTER WHEN RUNNING DIAGNOSTICS AND "CAN'T REPRODUCE THE STALL". THEY ARE KEEPING IT FOR A FEW MORE DAYS TO "PUT MORE MILES ON IT TO SEE IF THEY CAN REPRODUCE IT" AND ALSO HAVE A CALL INTO THEIR CORPORATE ENGINEERS AND ARE WAITING TO HEAR BACK FROM THEM. I TOLD THE SERVICE MANAGER AT THE DEALERSHIP THAT THIS WAS A KNOWN ISSUE WITH THE T.I.P.M. (TOTAL INTEGRATED PROGRAM MODULE) ON OLDER MODELS AND IN FACT 2 WERE REPORTED AT HTTP://WWW.CARCOMPLAINTS.COM/DODGE/JOURNEY/2014/ FOR 2014 MODELS. HE CLAIMED THAT THIS DEFECT IS ON OLDER MODELS 'ONLY' AND WASN'T THE PROBLEM. ALTHOUGH THEY ARE MAKING SOME UPDATES TO THE CAR'S COMPUTER SYSTEM WITHOUT KNOWING IF THIS WILL FIX IT, HE SAID IF THEY CAN'T DIAGNOSE OR REPRODUCE THE ISSUE, THEY WILL RETURN IT TO ME AND BASICALLY JUST HOPE IT DOESN'T HAPPEN AGAIN. I HAVE HAD MY CAR RIGHT AT 3 MONTHS AND IT JUST SHUTS OFF WITH NO WARNING. I HAVE CHILDREN IN THIS CAR GOING DOWN THE INTERSTATE AND IT JUST SHUTS OFF. THERE IS NO WARNING SIGNS AND NO WAY TO GET IT OFF THE SIDE OF THE ROAD. I'M JUST DEAD IN THE WATER HOPING NO ONE WILL REAR END US. IT HAS BEEN IN THE SHOP 2 TIMES AND THEY HAVE IT A DAY AND SAY SHOWS NOTHING AND SEND IT BACK TO ME. IT IS VERY HARD TO GET IT INTO THE SHOP AND THEY ACT LIKE I'M THE PROBLEM CAUSE THEY CAN'T FIND IT. IT'S MY ONLY CAR AND I KEEP TELLING THEM WHAT IS GOING ON AND THEY SAY JUAT KEEP DRIVING IT. IT TAKES SEVERAL MIN FOR IT TO FINALLY START THEN IT SEEMS TO CLEAR OUT THE CODES. I HAVE CALLED THEM AND EXPRESSED MY CONCERNS ABOUT THE SAFETY OF MY KIDS AND MY SELF. THEY SEEM TO NOT BE WORRIED. BUT I HAVE SEEN I'M NOT THE ONLY ONE WITH THIS PROBLEM AND NOTHING IS BEING DONE. I GUESS WHEN IT KILLS MY FAMILY OR SOMEONE ELSE THENAYBE SOMETHING WILL BE DONE. THIS HAPPENS AT LEAST 3 XS A WEEK IF NOT MORE AND I HAVE NO CLUE WHEN IT WILL HAPPEN. IT'S VERY SCARY. PLEASE CAN U HELP ME BEFORE MY FAMILY ENDS UP KILLED.
