My abs, traction control light, and brake light are on on the dash. When I tried to use cruise control the other day it wouldn't turn off. Now it's not working at all and the brakes locked up in the rain the other day and as soon as it dried up outside the issue went away. But now the brake module under the hood seems to be leaking and my oil cooler on top of the engine.
My ABS, traction control and Emergency brake dash lights are on. When I researched the problem it did show a recall on the ABS control module and wiring harness from certain 2015 Dodge Journeys. I did take my car to a dodge dealership and they did confirm the ABS module needs to be replaced but they told me my particular VIN wasn't included in the current recall. If my car model from the same year has an active recall for the part included in the recall and it is being effective by the same problem listed in the recall how do I get my car included in that recall. I am currently still waiting for the new part to come in with the dealership to have it replaced.
Since purchasing this vehicle we have had catalytic converter issues that have persisted even after having the dealer "fix" the issue.we have also had ABS/Traction control module issues.this is the 2nd identical vehicle owned with the exact same problems.

There is a recall for this part, but not for my vin number. The horn fuse had to be removed because the alarm would not stop going off, even when the alarm was not set. This is also associated with the ECM.

My Vehicle stopped working all together. It only has 45 thousand miles on it. The dealer found that the ABS module shorted out and caused the whole car to loose communication. the dealer informed me that the replacement part was under review by Chrysler engineers and production has stopped so there is no replacement for this part and so i contacted Chrysler and was told that they don't have an estimated time for new part production. This issue is not only a financial concern but also a safety as my vehicle has no abs, lights and will not run and drive. I have a car that I cant even repair because of lack of part production so now I'm out financially as well with no idea on how long it will take to get repaired.
ELECTRONIC STABILITY CONTROL (ESC), SERVICE BRAKES, HYDRAULIC The light for the stability control came on and my brakes chatter feels like there's bumps on the disc .Its pulling to the right , .. Also my door locks have failed .first it started with my rear windshield wiper running with the switch off ,than my reverse lights and now the locks . The back door does not lock at all and the door locks work sometimes .The electronics on my car is failing @ 120,000 it started .Its now at 150,000 tried everything still wont work.
My car is rarely driven, only 40,000 miles. When i started my car recently the brake, ABS light, and traction light came on. I did my research in which i found out that there is a recall for 2012-2015 dodge journey model, my car is a 2015 model but my VIN in particular is not part of the recall
The ABS light and Check engine light came on and dash began flickering. Vehicle also experienced sputtering issues and hesitation on acceleration. Vehicle was inspected by an independent technician who recommended taking it to a dealership for an ABS Module. The Vehicle was taken to the dealership and dealership determined that an ABS control and ABS module were needed. Parts were ordered, however, after contacting Chrysler customer care I learned that the ABS module is back ordered and on hold for engineer review. According to the representative I spoke to, folks have been waiting months for this part and it has been a high volume part order. The part number is 68164594AA. According to the rep, the part may take until April to arrive. If this is true it sounds like a significant number of people may be having a serious issue with their Dodge vehicle ABS module.

The ABS system got wet and shorted out the electrical system. It seems it may have been a recall earlier that was done but obviously it has failed again. Was driving and all lights and beepers went off. My abscandvtraction control and brake sensor and cruise control and park assist and engine and brake lights are all on and it now won’t start easy. It’s a mess and at the dealer who says they won’t help fix it
The Anti-Locking Braking System, Electronic Stability Control & Braking warning lights stay on all the time. I have absolutely no traction at anytime. The worse incident occurred when I was headed down a mountain and it had just started to rain. I could not slow the car down. I started at 35 MPH at the top of the mountain and was at 60 MPH by time I got at the bottom of it. Every time I barely touched the brakes the car started fishtailing. I notice the no traction mainly when there are wet roads. I can tell I have not traction at times even on dry roads but lots worse when they are wet. I have noticed in many searches that the ABS/ESC being disabled is a common recall for the 2015 Dodge Journey; however, when I enter my VIN number to my car it states it is not included in this recall. I would like to know how recalls work and why my car would not be included. I have been watchin recalls hoping that my car would be included because I am still making payments on this vehicle and do not have money to fix this issue. This is my main means of travel and I am extremely nervous driving with no traction. I'm considering getting rid of this vehicle because I do not feel it is safe to drive.
The Antilock Brake System (ABS) is not functioning and warning lights are on. I understand there is a recall on Dodge/Journey 2012-2015 for ABS control module: Safety Recall R61/NHTSA 15V-675. I took it to the Dodge dealership for repair, but they declined as my car, based on the vin number, is not covered under this recall. They said only specific vin numbers are recalled and mine is not one of them. Since my Dodge falls under the 2012-2015 general recalI and I have a faulty ABS module, may I get approval to be included under that recall, as this is a safety issue? I talked with the FCA and they suggested I address this issue to you. Thanks.
Vehicle would not start and the engine light was on. Upon inspection at dealer, the ABS module was offline due to water intrusion into the connector which caused corrosion on both abs module and wiring harness connector. There is a recall for this issue on about 276,000 Dodge Journeys. We were denied compensation since our vin was not on recall list. We were required to pay $3982.69 to fix what should have been covered under the recall.
Looking back the issue started about one month prior to warning lights came on when I had to brake quickly, but not really "slamming" on the brakes and they seemed to "lock-up". Luckily I had plenty of room between myself and the car in front of me. It never happened again so I thought it was a fluke. Thirty days or so later, I started the engine and everything was fine but after about 20 feet down the road, the brake, ABS, and traction lights all came on. Went back home, turned off the engine, went inside to ask husband to come look and when he turned engine back on and he tried driving it around the corner but the lights did not come back on. The issue continued with the lights going on and go off, when they are on the cruise control is inoperable. We took it to Autozone to see if we could find out what might be going on and we were told that we would need to take it to a Dodge dealership. It took several weeks for them to fit us in, but when they took in we were told it was an internal short in the ABS module and would need to be replaced. We were also told that it would be 3 months before they could even order it. While we have been waiting to safely use our vehicle I have been researching and found that there is a recall on other 2015 Dodge Journeys (R61) for issue with the ABS module for just the reason we are having to replace ours. In checking our VIN, it states that our vehicle is not covered under the recall, but not only am I questioning that should it be and there might be many other vehicles on the road with the issue and they won't know it until it is too late since ours had a scary event prior to warning lights ever coming on. I also do not think we should have to pay over $1,000 for an issue covered under a recall.
The contact owned a 2015 Dodge Journey. The contact stated that while her daughter was driving at 25 MPH, the vehicle wheels inadvertently locked. The contact daughter depressed the brake and the vehicle slid in the neighbor's yard and crashed into a tree. There were no warning lights illuminated. The air bags failed to deploy. The contact's daughter sustained whiplash, upper chest pain, upper back pain and neck pain. The contact transported her daughter to the hospital, where it was diagnosed that she had sustained soft tissue injuries and muscle strain. A police report was filed. The vehicle was towed to a tow lot, where it was totaled. The dealer and the manufacturer were not notified of the failure. The approximate failure mileage was 130,000. The contact did not have the VIN.

Traction and abs light constantly on. Code c2200-49 present. Anti-lock brake module internal/internal electronic failure. Not able to use cruise control. Abs not working and no traction stability control due to abs module failure. 70k + miles on vehicle
The contact owns a 2015 Dodge Journey. The contact stated that while driving in torrential rain, the ABS warning light illuminated. Additionally, the cruise control was inoperable. The local dealer was contacted however, the vehicle was not diagnosed or repaired. The manufacturer was not notified of the failure. In 2/2021 After having dealership replace thermostat and front brakes/rotors, I got my car back and then the same day the ABS, Traction control and ABS lights were on the dash, so I returned to dealership, resulting in full corrosion on the wiring harness repair from water leakage and anti lock brake module replacement. Now in late Sept (less than 3000 miles later) the ABS, traction control and Service AWD light on the dash AGAIN and dealership said it niw needs ABS sensor replaced, the module had water in the ABS module. This is a safety issue with disables ABS and ESC disabled. This appears to be related to other similar complaints and Chrysler recall R61 for 2015 Dodge Journeys, but not showing up for my VIN.
While driving the steering wheel locked up and the brakes stopped working, the engine was still running. Breaks were extremely hard to press and was not able to turn the steering wheel at all. Was able to coast to a stop and place the car in park. Once I stopped I placed the car in park, turned off the car and restarted it and worked fine.

The steering wheel locked up and the brake pedal was hard to depress. The vehicle was taken twice to the local dealer who was unable to duplicate the failure. NHTSA recall 15V675000 was performed by the Dodge Dealer in 2016. Braking control system failures were recently indicated by dash panel warning lights. Independent mechanic verified water intrusion, corrosion and electrical short circuits. Remedial repairs by independent mechanic did not solve the problem. I contacted Dealer Service who verified the complaint in Jun 2021, but Chrysler corporation declined to cover the costs of the proper repair. I contend their ABS and/or ESC system failures are due to their defective design and that Chrysler is still responsible to restore the vehicle to a safe operating condition.
WHEN THE CAR IS IN CRUISE CONTROL IT WILL NOT STOP WHEN BREAKS ARE BEING HIT IT CAUSE THE CAR TO GO OFF THE ROAD AND ALMOST KILL AND THE WHEEL KNOCKED UP
WHILE DRIVING MY ABS/AWD LIGHT CONTINUES TO COME ON. I CHECKED TO SEE IF THERE IS A RECALL FOR THE ABS AND IT SHOWS BUT DOES NOT COME UP WITH MY VIN. THE LIGHT COMES ON AND THEN THERE IS A KICK AND DRAGGING SOUND COMING FROM THE VEHICLE SO I STOP, PUT IT IN PARK AND TRY TO PROCEED AGAIN. I DON'T FEEL SAFE. I RECENTLY PURCHASED THE VEHICLE AND NOTHING WAS MENTIONED ABOUT THE ABS. THIS HAPPENS WHETHER I AM IN MY DRIVEWAY OR IN THE PARKING LOT A WORK.

THE WIRING SLEVES WERE REPLACED AND TWO RECALL ISSUES TAKEN CARE OF, THEY STATED THERE WERE NO OTHER ISSUES FOUND ON THE VEHICLE. IN DOING RESEARCH THERE WAS A RECALL R62 DTC C2200-48 CONCERNING THE TRACTION CONTROL/ ABS WARNING LIGHTS IS THE ISSUE WE ARE HAVING WITH THE VEHICLE RELATED TO THIS RECALL ISSUE???

AS I WAS DRIVING THROUGH A GROCERY PARKING LOT, I REMEMBER TAKING MY FOOT OFF OF THE ACCELERATOR TO SLOW DOWN AND TO MAKE A RIGHT TURN UP AN ISLE TO GO TO A PARKING SPOT. ONCE MY FOOT CAME OFF OF THE ACCELERATOR, MY CAR DIED, NO BRAKES, AND NO STEERING. THE ELECTRICAL CONTINUED TO WORK AS MY MUSIC WAS STILL PLAYING AND THE FLASHERS WORKED AS WELL. I PUT THE CAR IN PARK, AND PUSHED THE START BUTTON, NOTHING HAPPENED. I TRIED A COUPLE MORE TIMES AND THEN MY CAR STARTED BACK UP. I DROVE TO A PARKING SPOT, SHUT THE CAR OFF AND TURNED IT BACK ON. PRECISELY ON 7.3.19 I HAD 4 OF MY CHILDREN WITH ME HEADING TO A HOLIDAY PARADE. MY CAR W/O WARNING COMPLETELY STOPPED IN THE MIDDLE OF A ROAD. NO POWER, NO BRAKES, NO STEERING. AIR WAS STILL BLOWING; RADIO STILL PLAYING. MY DAUGHTER AND I PUSHED MY CAR TO THE CURB, MY HUSBAND CAME AND PUSHED MY CAR FURTHER TO AVOID AN ACCIDENT. AFTER SEVERAL ATTEMPTS THE CAR RESTARTED AND RESTARTED FINE. DROVE ANOTHER .5 CITY BLOCK; STOPPED AT A STOP SIGN, PULLED OUT AND MY CAR DIED AGAIN IN THE MIDDLE OF THE INTERSECTION. MY HUSBAND WAS STILL BEHIND ME & PUSHED US OUT. WE DROVE HOME. HE LOOKED UNDER THE HOOD, NOTHING STOOD OUT. I DIDN'T GET ANY WARNINGS ON THE DASH. THE CAR HAS DRIVEN FINE UNTIL 7.5.19. MY DAUGHTER AND I JUST TURNED ONTO CALUMET AVE; A VERY BUSY AND DANGEROUS ROAD AND MY CAR DIED AGAIN. SEVERAL CARS FLYING AROUND US LAYING ON THEIR HORN. I DO NOT HAVE POWER TO TURN, TO BRAKE. WHEN TAKEN IN TO THE DEALER I WAS INFORMED THT THERE WAS A PROBLEM WITH THE ABS MODULE.IT WAS COROADED AND SHORTING OUT THE SYSYEM WHICH ALSO CONTROLS THE SPEED SENSORS AND TRACTION CONTROL SYSTEM. ON TUESDAY MAY 7TH I STARTED THE CAR AND THE SPEEDOMETER DID NOT REGISTER AND THE AUTOMATIC DOOR LOCKS DID NOT ENGAGE THE BRAKES ALSO HOPPED WHEN I TRIED TO SLOW DOWN OR STOP.

THE PROBLEM WAS THE ENGINE STALLING WHILE DRIVING. LOST THE ABILITY TO STEER AND BRAKE. I HAD THIS PROBLEM HAPPEN TO MY 18YR OLD DAUGHTER ON OCTOBER 9TH 2017. I CALLED THE DEALER ON OCTOBER 10TH WHERE WE PURCHASED IT TO EXPLAIN WHAT WAS GOING ON. THEY GOT IT IN THAT MORNING AND DROVE IT FOR ABOUT 30 MILES AND COULD NOT RECREATE THE PROBLEM. THE KEYFOB BATTERY'S WERE REPLACED ON BOTH KEYFOBS TO MAKE SURE THAT WAS NOT THE ISSUE BUT IT DIDN'T HELP. I DISCONNECTED THE BATTERY TO RESET THE COMPUTER AND THE KEYFOBS STARTED TO WORK CORRECTLY. I DROVE THE CAR A FEW MILES AND THE TPM SENSORS STARTED TO READ. AGAIN I AM NOT SURE IF THIS IS RELATED BUT THOUGHT I SHOULD POINT IT OUT. IN DEC 2015 I RECEIVED A RECALL NOTICE AND WAS INFORMED THAT ANOTHER NOTICE WOULD BE SENT WHEN I WAS TO CONTACT THE DEALER. THIS IS FOR THE ANTI-LOCK BRAKE SYSTEM. THE 2ND NOTICE WAS RECEIVED IN JAN16. I CALLED THE DEALER ON 1/4 AND 1/21/16 AND WAS TOLD THEY DID NOT HAVE AND DID NOT KNOW WHEN THEY WOULD HAVE THE PART TO MAKE THE REPAIR. THEY SAID THEY WOULD TAKE MY NAME AND NUMBER AND PUT ME ON THE WAITING LIST AND CALL ME WHEN THE PART WAS IN. IT IS 3/1/16 AND I HAD NOT HEARD FROM LANDMARK DODGE WHERE I PURCHASED THE VEHICLE FROM AND HAD BEEN IN CONTACT WITH. I CALLED THEM TO SEE IF THEY HAD THE PART AND GUESS WHAT THEY SAID THEY JUST HAPPEN TO GET 5 IN TODAY! HOWEVER THEY COULD NOT SCHEDULE THE REPAIR UNTIL 4/1/16. WE ARE TALKING ABOUT THE BRAKE SYSTEM HERE. 4 MONTHS TO DO A REPAIR THAT THE MANUFACTURER KNEW WAS REQUIRED FOR SAFETY SAKE. I REALLY FEEL THE NHTSA SHOULD LOOK INTO THIS. ALSO THIS IS THE 2ND RECALL ON THIS VEHICLE AND I HAVE NOT EVEN OWNED IT FOR A YEAR YET. THE FIRST WAS THE ENGINE BEAUTY COVER WHICH WE HAD TO WAIT FOR THAT PART ON ALSO. ABS....BRAKING FAILURE....MY BRAKES FAILED ON 12/31/2015 SHORTLY BEFORE 3PM, I WAS LEAVING A SHOPPING CENTER PARKING LOT, A CAR WAS BACKING OUT, SO I WENT TO HIT MY BRAKES, AND THEY WENT ALL THE WAY TO THE FLOOR WITHOUT STOPPING OR SLOWING DOWN, I TRIED A SECOND TIME BUT STILL NOTHING HAPPENED, SO I AS I GOT CLOSER TO THE CAR, I VEERED AWAY FROM IT AND BUMPED A POLE TO STOP MY CAR, I WAS GOING BETWEEN 5-7 MILES PER HOUR, AND THE VEHICLE WOULDN'T STOP. MY VECHICLE HAD FRONT END DAMAGE TO THE BUMPER AND THE HOOD, AND NOT SURE IF THE BUMPER OR THE HOOD PRESSED AGAINST THE RADIATOR, BUT THAT NEEDED REPAIR AS WELL. MY INSURANCE COMPANY TOOK CARE OF THE DAMAGE, I LATER FOUND OUT WHILE MY VEHICLE WAS IN THE SHOP GETTING BODY WORK REPAIRED, THAT THERE WAS A RECALL ON MY ABS, SHORTLY AFTER I RECEIVED A RECALL NOTICE IN THE MAIL. NOT SURE IF THAT WAS THE REASON WHY MY BRAKES FAILED, BUT THEY ISN'T ANY OTHER EXPLANATION, MY VEHICLE WAS ONLY A LITTLE OVER 3 MONTHS OLD, AND SHOULDN'T HAVE HAD THAT PROBLEM. AFTER THE BODYSHOP COMPLETED THE BODY DAMAGE THE INSURANCE COMPANY TOWED IT TO THE CHRYSLER DEALERSHIP WHERE IT WAS PURCHASED AND THEY REFUSED THE VEHICLE STATING THEY WOULD ONLY FIX IT IF I ACCEPT RESPONSIBILITY FOR THE ACCIDENT, AND THAT I HAD TO PUT IT IN WRITING FOR THE INSURANCE COMPANY, SO THAT THEY INSURANCE COMPANY WONT MAKE THEM REIMBURSE THEM FOR THE DAMAGES THAT THEY ALREADY PAID FOR. WHILE DRIVING HOME MY 2015 DODGE JOURNEY (WHICH ONLY HAD 2,108 MILES ON IT) DIED WHILE DECELERATING TO TURN INTO MY NEIGHBORHOOD. I PUT THE CAR IN PARK AND HIT THE START BUTTON AND IT STARTED RIGHT UP. I IMMEDIATELY CALLED THE DEALERSHIP AND TOLD THEM I WOULD BE BRINGING IT TO THEM IN THE MORNING. THEY HAVE NOW HAD MY CAR FOR 5 DAYS AND CAN'T FIND ANY ERROR CODES IN THEIR COMPUTER WHEN RUNNING DIAGNOSTICS AND "CAN'T REPRODUCE THE STALL". THEY ARE KEEPING IT FOR A FEW MORE DAYS TO "PUT MORE MILES ON IT TO SEE IF THEY CAN REPRODUCE IT" AND ALSO HAVE A CALL INTO THEIR CORPORATE ENGINEERS AND ARE WAITING TO HEAR BACK FROM THEM. I TOLD THE SERVICE MANAGER AT THE DEALERSHIP THAT THIS WAS A KNOWN ISSUE WITH THE T.I.P.M. HE CLAIMED THAT THIS DEFECT IS ON OLDER MODELS 'ONLY' AND WASN'T THE PROBLEM.
