I bought the car in 2019 . Since purchasing it has had electrical issues. The AC blew hot air, the rear windows did not work, the center console usb plug caught fire, the lights on dash flicker. Dome light comes on by itself. Now the head lights flicker and go out. I have had it checked , and on computers nothing comes up.I cannot even use cruise control because it speeds up on its own to high speeds. I contacted the dealership, I was told I was making it up, I took it in and was told they could not find anything. I have taken video, and even have numerous witnesses to this. This is just one of many issues.Three nights ago on my way home from the store all my lights went out on the highway. It was pitch black. I was lucky no one was around me and I was able to get off the near by exit without crashing. There is no recalls on my car but on the 2016 Dodge journey this is mentioned by numerous customers. I even contacted Dodge Chrysler and was told they have no records of any issues with my year make or model.

The EVIC lights will turn off while driving. Doesn’t matter if it’s daylight or evening. During evening hours it poses a risk due to not seeing speed or any other lights on dashboard. The EVIC will stay on after car is shut off and key fob is moved away from vehicle causing the battery to die.

As I was driving my 2016 DJ just list power.. I coast my to the side of the road. I try cranking the car up but it wouldn't crank up. So I had it towed to my house which were about 5 mins away. Please help me with my car. Vehicle would not go up small hills

Was driving car after cleaning it had a box in trunk that barely took a portion of the trunk up. While drive smelt smoke and electrical smell and my trunk was on fire inside. Pulled over and the back hatch inside got so hot from what I can only guess was electrical that the box caught fire. This caused a whole inside back hatch and melted part of my seat and damaged my storage containers.

The contact owns a 2016 Dodge Journey. The contact stated that after several attempts, the vehicle failed to start. Due to the failure, the contact was forced to jumpstart the vehicle. There were several messages displayed on the instrument panel. The contact stated that the messages disappeared while driving the vehicle. The vehicle was taken to an independent mechanic on several occasions for the same failure. The contact stated that the battery, alternator, starter motor, and various other parts were replaced; however, the failure persisted. Recently, the contact stated that upon attempting to unlock the door with the key fob, the vehicle failed to unlock, and there was no power from the vehicle. The contact used the key to manually unlock the door, and the alarm system sounded off. Due to the key fob failing to operate as needed, the contact was unable to disengage the alarm. The vehicle failed to start while jumpstarting the vehicle. Neither the dealer nor the manufacturer was notified of the failure. The vehicle was not repaired. The failure mileage was approximately 90,000. The VIN was not available.

I believe the 2016 Dodge Journeys should be included in the 15V675000 recall. My passenger side floorboard was wet, mechanic changed filter but water can still be heard sloshing in the car. Since then, emergency brake, and check engine light will randomly turn on while I’m driving. The “service AWD” and “service park assist system” notice will turn on when I start my car. Now, the car is not registering as parked. I can’t turn the car on and it goes into a security mode because I get a “car not in park” notice. I have had the car serviced and checked multiple times and no codes come up. I have the brakes checked when the light ABS light flashes, no issues can be found.

The contact owns a 2016 Dodge Journey. The contact stated while driving at various speeds, the doors continuously locked and unlocked, and the windows continuously rolled up and down unintendedly. Additionally, the interior lights and the exterior lights were turned off and on unintendedly. The contact also stated that a light indicating that the tailgate was opened was displayed while the tailgate was securely closed. There was no warning light illuminated. The dealer was notified of the failure and informed the contact that a fee for the diagnostic test would be charged. The vehicle was not diagnosed or repaired. The manufacturer was not notified of the failure. The failure mileage was approximately 120,000.

Unknown and my air bag light keeps coming on even though we have gotten the coolant fixed and a new/used engine put in the car, we replaced and got a new battery and new alternator in it to and the oil has gotten changed in it.

I’m having the same issues as other Dodge journeys from earlier models that had the recall on the engine for the Rocker arms, lifters, and camshaft. Almost causing me to have an accident inside the highway due to my car, reducing speed from 65 To 15 mph on the expressway as well my vehicle Starting to shake very badly. Second issue is The same problem with earlier models, using the same engine and transmission recall, I’m having the same issues, and unfortunately, my car states that has no open recalls when my car has the same engine and transmission then the earlier model with the recall As I was reading on the web, they are some 2016 Dodge journeys with the same issues as earlier models that are not recalled as of yet

Vehicle started stalling repeatedly for brief moments, cruise control began to "stick" on. Vehicle does not "die" in these instances but all electrical components shut down for a very brief moment then come back on. This happens frequently and for no apparent reason associated with road/driving conditions. Cruise control also wouldn't turn off when problems started. Haven't tried to use cruise control since first instance for fear of safety.

My vehicle has been stalling out while driving, to the point of the brakes lock up, once it’s in park you can’t get it out of park, or can’t get the vehicle to turn off while stalled out, literally have to disconnect the battery, and reconnect it to maybe get the car a fresh start to turn over and return power to systems. The check engine light pops on when stalled but not normally and is coding for crankshaft position sensor a circuit. My vehicle apparently doesn’t have an open recall; but have seen this same issue has been a recall on the same year, make, and model, just not mine. The dodge dealership would rather me sell them my car and buy a new one.

My car Intermittent just shuts down while driving on the road without warning and has done so 4 times now with my family in it as this is the family car. Thank God no one has been hurt or any accidents at this time. When it shuts down you loose control of the vehicle and the steering wheel locks and unable to move safely off the road you have to stop in the middle of traffic and put it in neutral and get out and push it off the road! I have had it sent to two shops to find the problem and they both come up with the Crank Shaft Sensor the first one replaced and the problem still happens! So the 2nd shop a Dodge dealership has diagnosed the same problem but then they say the Recall S89 is the problem with my vehicle but because My vehicle was made 6 months before the start of the recall they say I have to fix the problem out of pocket and I refuse to do it! If there is a known problem and a fix for it on a recall then the recall date should be changed to include older models with the same issues. Thank you for any and all assistance in this matter.

The contact owns a 2016 Dodge Journey. The contact stated while driving 70 MPH, the vehicle hesitated upon the depression of the accelerator pedal. The vehicle entered LIMP Mode with the check engine warning light illuminated. The contact initially took the vehicle to an independent mechanic who diagnosed the vehicle with a shift solenoid defect related to the engine control module (ECM). The contact took the vehicle to several other independent mechanics and was informed that the transmission needed to be replaced. The contact then received notification of NHTSA Campaign Number: 18V332000 (Electrical System, Vehicle Speed Control) which she linked to the failure. The dealer and the manufacturer were notified of the failure and the contact was informed that the software update would be covered under recall; however, any additional repairs would be paid out of pocket. The vehicle was not yet repaired. The failure mileage was approximately 100,000.

The vehicle was taken to an independent mechanic where they informed the contact the camshaft sensor and crankshaft sensor should be replaced. The local dealer was not contacted. The vehicle was not diagnosed or repaired. The contact stated the failure was related to NHTSA Campaign Number: 16V907000 ( Engine and Engine Cooling). The manufacturer was contacted but no additional assistance was provided. The approximate failure mileage was 80,000.

The engine/powertrain occasionally does not accelerate on the freeway causing us to backup traffic. This happens randomly and will eventually cause a major accident. I have contacted dodge but they want me to leave my car for 6 weeks with no loaner I am a single mother that is not possible. The car is under bumper to bumper coverage but they still wont fix the issue! Also my heated seats are stuck on high and often smell like they are going to catch fire! Again dodge wont help!

I received notice of a recall for my vehicle, when reviewing the recall list, I noticed I have issues where all icons come on, and the radio turns channel without selection. I can no longer check the vehicle status (oil level, tire pressure, etc.). I recently completed a scheduled oil change, and the next day received notice the vehicle was due for an oil change. In the recalls listed, I am having the same issue, but my VIN is not showing. Please help, as my 2016 Journey should be part of this list.

The problem started back in April, where lights on my dash started coming on. I noticed a different feel when i drive now. I dont know if its electrical steering or what. Its the BRAKE, ABS, A TIRE, and A Car with Swerve Lines... I dont feel safe when me and my kids are in truck. One time i was driving and it said i was going 99 but was actually going 45. Also it says there are 4 RECALLS ON THIS MODEL but when i put my VIN its says i have no unrepaired recalls. THAT IS FALSE! THE RECALLS LOOK LIKE SOME OF THE RPOBLEMS MY VEHICLE IS HAVING. I dont know whats going on but for my kids safety im gone need it handled and fixed!

Sometimes when I turn my car on the front screen won’t turn on it will stay black, when I go to back up my rear view camera won’t work, sometimes my two front windows won’t roll down, my defroster won’t turn on in the front, my blowers used to work where I was able to switch them to defrost, just face, or feet but it’s just stuck on one setting and my passenger side blows hot air when the AC is on. In winter it’s hard to see out my front window even when I let the car warm up, it will fog up while I’m driving and it causes me not to see and could potentially cause a major accident, also in the summertime when I need the AC for my children and it’s not working properly can effect them as well, my car definitely should be on the recall list for several things that have been recalled, I feel unsafe to drive it especially with my babies in the car. It’s my only transportation for anything! Along side with my AWD light flickering on and off and causing my car to slow down and not accelerate, it feels like it’s going to stall and would not be good in the middle of traffic.

Unknown: my vehicle driver side carpet gets, my heat comes on by itself constantly my check engine light comes on and off and sometimes my acceleration and braking doesn't match or lineup at times when I brake/ slow down and then get back on the gas it doesn't register or pick up on breaking and slowing down a lot of dodge journey's have these same issues according to online reviews

For several month my brake light would illuminate when I would hit brakes. Then the ABS light and traction control light also came on. Took it to shop and said it was the electric stability control module and dodge journeys are known for this but it only recalls 2012-2015. Mine is a 2016. Pretty sure it should also be included in the recall, nevertheless they tried to charge me almost $600 to fix, I refused.

The contact owns a 2016 Dodge Journey. The contact stated while driving at 55 MPH, the ABS warning light illuminated. The vehicle was taken to an independent mechanic who diagnosed that the brake pads needed to be replaced. The contact stated that the brake pads were replaced. The contact also stated that the cruise control system failed to operate as designed, and the driver’s side window failed to open as needed. The contact stated that the Navigation System was inoperable and there were also several unknown warning lights illuminated upon starting the vehicle. I was traveling on the highway when the vehicle suddenly, without warning, stalled and stopped running. I was able to cruise until the vehicle completely stopped. I was able to restart the engine by pushing the "start" button to off and then pushing my brake and the engine restarted successfully where I can drive to the shoulder off the road. Engine light turned on. I have a OBD scanner tool and the code that the tool read is P0335 Crankshaft Position sensor malfunction. Circuit A. I have about 52,000 miles on my odometer. This is a huge safety issue. At high speed, if the car stalls, this could lead to a significant accident. There was no warning prior to the engine stalling. I have a service appointment at Marino CJD next week. Marino CJD is located at 5133 W Irving Park Rd, Chicago, IL 60641.

While driving my 2016 Journey in Raleigh, N.C. the vehicle was working fine until I came to a stop sign and it stalled. I was able to start it up and luckily no vehicle was behind me the first time it occurred. In Raleigh it did this again at a red light but because the vehicle behind me was still at a stop and I was aware from the time before I quickly restarted and drove with little fanfare. The Journey would drive fine, but when stopping at a sign or light or stopping in general the vehicle will stall. It buckle and then stalls as well. I was able to get home from Raleigh to Raeford NC because of driving on the highway. However, upon arriving in local roads in Raeford and having to stop at the lights, the Journey stalled at every light. I was able to start it up and drive a few times, and a few other times it would stall on first, or second try then work on next. It once stalled and took multiple times (more than 3) restarting before I was able to get it driving. At home I was able to get the vehicle safely into the driveway and upon starting it while in park it would idle normally and not shut off. I then put it in reverse to back up and it immediately started to buckle and then stalled. Put in in park and start the engine again and it would idle, went to drive and it stalled again. Restarted it in park and went to neutral and it would idle, but try to go to drive or reverse and it would start to buckle as if to shut off. Back in neutral or park and again it idles. It will role in neutral if I release the brakes too. Put it in drive or reverse and it stalls and shut off. Now I am unable to even get it out of my driveway. So I will have it towed to the dealership.

MILLER DODGE LOCATED AT 1800 W 104TH AVE, DENVER, CO 80234, WHO DIAGNOSED THAT THE EXHAUST MANIFOLD CRACKED DUE TO A DEFECTIVE CATALYTIC CONVERTER. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT YET REPAIRED. ADDITIONALLY, WHILE OPERATING THE VEHICLE SEVERAL LIGHTS LOCATED ON THE REAR LIFTGATE WOULD NOT ILLUMINATE OR WAS VERY DIM DUE TO AN ELECTRICAL SHORT IN THE TAIL GATE WIRING HARNESS. THE BRAKE LIGHTS, TAG LIGHTS AND SIGNAL LIGHTS WERE AFFECTED BY THE ELECTRICAL SHORT. THE FAILURE WAS NOT REPAIRED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOTIFIED OF THE FAILURES BUT, NO ASSISTANCE WAS OFFERED. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 103,000.

WHEN DRIVING, AT ANY SPEED OR UPON ACCELERATION, THE ENGINE SUDDENLY LOSES POWER AND GOES TO 1500RPM(APPROX.) WITH A TRACTION CONTROL LIGHT AND BATTERY CHARGING LIGHT ( CAR SWERVING LIGHT AND RED LIGHTNING BOLT LIGHT) ILLUMINATED. AT HIGHWAY SPEEDS THIS IS VERY HAZARDOUS, ON THE STREET ITS VERY FRUSTRATING. WHEN VEHICLE IS BROUGHT TO A STOP AND COMPLETELY SHUTDOWN, THEREBY RESETTING THE ECM, THE VEHICLE STARTS NORMALLY AND DRIVES NORMALLY( SOMETIMES!) ON OTHER OCCASIONS AFTER BEING PUT INTO GEAR AND PROCEEDING THE SAME THING OCCURS AND ENGINE WILL NOT REV OVER 1500-1800 RPMS AND SO LONG AS YOU ARE NOT GOING UP A HILL WILL SHIFT NORMALLY TO GET TO ABOUT 40 MPH TOPS, ON A HILL HOWEVER SPEED WILL DROP TO ABOUT 15-20 DEPENDING ON THE HILL I GUESS. THIS HAPPENED ON 8-15-20 AND CAR RESET AND DROVE NORMALLY AFTER THAT WITH NO ISSUES BUT THE FOLLOWING MORNING AS I LEFT HOME FOR WORK IT OCCURRED 2 BLOCKS AWAY FROM HOME AND AFTER RESETTING CAR VIA SHUTTING IT DOWN SEVERAL TIMES THE ISSUE WOULD NOT "SELF CURE". HOPEFULLY, AS THIS IS SUNDAY AT 5 AM WHEN THE MECHANIC TROUBLESHOOTS IT DISPLAYS THE SAME BEHAVIOR AND I WILL UPDATE THIS POST.

VEHICLE WAS STATIONARY AND REMOTE STARTED FOR ABOUT 5 MINUTES. WE LOADED UP OUR CHILDREN IN THE CAR AND STARTED SMELLING A STRONG PLASTIC/RUBBER BURNING SMELL THAT STINGS IN THE THROAT. THE SMELL WAS COMING OUT OF THE HEAT VENTS, COULD BE SMELLED OUTSIDE THE CAR AND UNDER THE HOOD. WE SHUT OFF THE VEHICLE AND I LOOKED FOR THE SOURCE OF THE BURNING, BUT DIDN'T IMMEDIATELY FIND IT. AFTER SOME TIME WE RESTARTED AND WAITED ABOUT 5 MINUTES AND IT CAME BACK AGAIN. THIS TIME I LOCATED A GLOWING RED CHASSIS GROUND STRAP WIRE THAT WAS BURNING OFF THE COATING. THE CAR WAS TOWED TO MY HOUSE FOR INSPECTION DURING DAYLIGHT HOURS. I NOTICED THAT THE METHOD OF ATTACHMENT OF THE SHEET METAL CLIP TO THE MOTOR MOUNT SEEMS DUBIOUS AS THIS TYPE OF CONNECTION MAY CAUSE HIGH ELECTRICAL RESISTANCE AND LEAD TO HEAT BUILD-UP. FORTUNATELY THIS HAPPENED WHEN THE VEHICLE WAS PARKED AND WE WERE WAITING ON WARM-UP. HAD MY WIFE JUST DRIVEN OFF THE SMOKE SMELL WOULD HAVE BEEN A DISTRACTION AND COULD LEAD TO INCREASED CRASH RISK. I HAVE BEEN EXPERIENCING A ISSUE WITH THIS FOR A MONTH NOW. WHEN I PUT AIR INTO THE TIRES ALL OF THE TIRES PRESSURE PSI ARE THE SAME THEN WITHIN FIVE MINUTES ALL THE TIRE PSI ARE DIFFERENT BY SUBSTANTIAL DIGITS. ONE TIRE COULD BE 39 WHEN YOU BEGIN AND FIVE MINUTES LATER IT COULD DISPLAY 34 PSI. THE VEHICLE IS ALWAYS IMBALANCED CAUSING IT TO ROCK.

DURING THE NO POWER ORDEAL, I NOTICED A MAJOR SAFETY CONCERN: THE DRIVER'S DOOR LOCK CAN BE OPENED WITH THE KEY, WHILE THE OTHER DOORS LOCKS ARE ELECTRICALLY ACTIVATED AND IF THE CAR BATTERY IS DEAD CAN NOT BE OPENED, NEITHER FROM INSIDE OR OUTSIDE . THE CAR BATTERY IS PHYSICALLY LOCATED BEHIND THE LEFT FENDER, IN FRONT OF THE LEFT WHEEL AND WILL BE DAMAGED EVEN IN CASE OF A MINOR FENDER-BENDER. SEVERAL MONTHS AFTER HAVING NEW TIRES PUT ON MY SUV, I NOTICED THE SERVICE AWD, TRACTION CONTROL, AND ABS LIGHTS WERE ON CONTINUOUSLY ON MY PANEL WHEN IN MOTION AND UPON LEARNING THE IGNITION BUTTON. SOMETIMES THEY'D GO OFF EITHER MOVING OR STATIONARY BUT THEN AS 2 MONTHS PASSED, THEY'D REMAIN ON AT ALL TIMES. I WASN'T ABLE TO ENGAGE CRUISE CONTROL WHEN THOSE LIGHTS WERE ON. I HAD 2 NEAR ACCIDENTS FROM NEARLY HITTING 2 LARGE DEER. I HIT MY BRAKES AND MY TIRES DID BUT WASN'T TO GRIP THE ROAD AND JUST FELT LIKE THEY WERE ON ICE (IN SUMMER) . WHEN THEY WOULD GRIP THEY MADE A LOUD NOISE AND THEN I WAS ABLE TO STOP BUT NOT WITHOUT SMELLING BURNT RUBBER. I HAVE HEARD FROM A FRIEND OF MINE THAT IS A MECHANIC THAT HE HAD A FEELING IT WAS MY ABS SENSOR BUT DIDNT HAVE ACCESS TO A DODGE DIAGNOSTIC SYSTEM AS HE WORKS FOR A DIFFERENT DEALERSHIP. IVE HEARD FROM DIFFERENT PEOPLE THAT THIS HAS BEEN A "COMMON" PROBLEM RECENTLY WITH JOURNEYS. I PAID 97 DOLLARS FOR A DIAGNOSTIC FORMA NON-DEALER GARAGE AND THEY CONFIRMED IT WAS MY RIGHT FRONT ABS SENSOR AND IT WAS A MANUFACTURER DEFECT. I CALLED THE DODGE DEALERSHIP AND I WAS NOT INFORMED WHEN I BROUGHT IT IN THERE FOR THE RECALL THAT IT WAS UNDER WARRANTY. I BROUGHT MY SUV IN AND THE ADVISOR DIDN'T BELIEVE IT WAS MY SENSOR UNTIL IT WAS REPLACED. I WAS INFORMED THAT THE JOURNEYS HAVE BEEN COMING IN BY THE DOZEN OVER THIS ISSUE AND ALL OVER THE U.S. THAT WAS THE ONLY SENSOR CHECKED AND REPLACED AND MY WARRANTY IS ABOUT DONE. I HAVE A 2016 DODGE JOURNEY ABOUT A MONTH AGO RAN OVER A LARGE RAIN PUDDLE WHILE TURNING IN TO GET SOME GAS. FILLED UP AND AS I'M DRIVING OFF ABS, BRAKE, AND THE SWERVING CAR SIGNAL KEPT COMING ON. MY FUEL GAUGE READER WENT ALL THE WAY DOWN TO EMPTY AND THE SPEEDOMETER WOULD GO UP AND DOWN RANDOM TIMES WHILE DRIVING. COUPLE DAYS LATER WE HAD TOOK IT IN TO GET CHECKED OUT WAS TOLD MY FUEL SENSOR WENT OUT AND NEEDED TO GET A NEW FUEL PUMP BECAUSE THE SENSOR WAS INSIDE OF IT. HAD IT FIXED AFTER WAITING TWO DAYS FROM OUR CAR GUY DROVE IT OFF THE REPAIR SHOP AND NOT EVEN HOURS LATER THE SAME ISSUE. WAS TOLD I HAD WARRANTY ON FUEL PUMP PURCHASED FROM DEALERSHIP AND THEY WOULD REPLACE IT AGAIN. I TOOK IT TO DEALERSHIP AND WAS TOLD NEEDED A NEW FUEL PUMP AND THEY WERE GOING TO CHARGE ME 135 PER ERROR CODE AND THEN WOULD TELL ME WHAT ADDITIONALLY NEEDED TO BE FIXED AND THAT I WOULD HAVE TO LEAVE THE CAR FOR UP TO A WEEK. THE CAR WAS JUST PURCHASED IN AUG 2018 AND IT HAS UNDER 54K MILES ON IT. WHILE DRIVING THE CAR AT ANY GIVEN TIME ALL THE LIGHTS CONTINUE TO COME ON. THE CAR STOPPED ON ME IN THE MIDDLE OF THE HIGHWAY. IT GAVE OUT ON ME IN THE CENTER HIGHWAY AND I HAD TO WAIT FOR EMERGENCY SERVECES TO ASSIST ME IT TOOK 2 HOURS AND THIS WAS AT 7 AM IN THE MORNING ON 610/10 FREEWAY IN HOUSTON, TX THE CAR HAS GIVEN OUT ON ME TWICE NOW AND IVE REPLACED THE BATTERY TWICE. WHATEVER IS THE ISSUE CONTINUES TO KILL THE BATTERY POWER AND I CAN'T FIND ANY MECHANIC INCLUDING THE DEALERSHIP TO FIX WHAT THE PROBLEM IS, BUT THEY WANT TO CHARGE ME FOR RANDOMN WORK THAT DOES NOTHING TO FIX THE ISSUE.

AS I ENTERED THE CURVE THE POWER STEERING STOPPED WORKING, BRAKES WERE VERY HARD TO DEPRESS AND THE VEHICLE CAME TO A STOP AND WOULD NOT ACCELERATE, THE ENGINE WAS STILL RUNNING. I WAS ABLE TO SHUT OFF THE VEHICLE AND TURN IT BACK ON AND IT WORKED AS NORMAL.

ON JULY 22, 2017, I TRIED TO START MY CAR AND IT WOULDN'T START. I CALLED A TOW TRUCK COMPANY AND THEY TRIED TO CHARGE THE VEHICLE TO NO AVAIL. THEY TOWED THE VEHICLE TO KENDALL DODGE CHRYSLER AND JEEP. THE VEHICLE SAT AT THE DEALER FOR OVER 8 DAYS. WHEN I RECEIVED THE VEHICLE BACK IT STILL HAD ELECTRICAL ISSUE. I TOOK THE VEHICLE BACK IN AND THEY REPAIRED THE ELECTRICAL ISSUES AGAIN. IN FEBRUARY OF THIS YEAR THE WHILE I WAS DRIVING WITH MY FOUR KIDS IN THE CAR (2 OF WHICH ARE UNDER THE AGE OF 3) THE ANTILOCK BRAKE LIGHT TURNED ON AND THE CAR STOPPED ON ITS OWN. AFTER ACCELERATOR WAS TOUGH TO TOUCH. I TOOK THE CAR TO THE DEALER AND THEY TOLD ME THE CAR WAS NO LONGER UNDER WARRANTY AND I WILL HAVE TO PAY FOR THE REPAIRS. I CALLED DODGE DIRECTLY AND THEY CALLED THE DEALER AND THE TOLD THEM TO REPAIR THE CAR. THE DEALER STILL GAVE ME A HARD TIME AND WOULD NOT GIVE ME A RENTAL CAR. THEY MADE ME CALL DODGE AGAIN AND HAVE THEM AUTHORIZE A RENTAL. THE CAR IS NOW GIVING ME ELECTRICAL ISSUES AGAIN ALONG WITH THE ANTILOCK BRAKE LIGHT TURNING ON SPORADICALLY AND WHEN I CALLED DODGE DIRECTLY THEY TOLD ME THEY ARE GOING TO SEND A TECH TO CHECK THE VEHICLE OUT. IF THEY CAN RECREATE THE PROBLEM THEN I WOULD HAVE TO WAIT FOR THE PROBLEM TO HAPPEN AGAIN. I CAN NOT WAIT FOR THE ANTILOCK BRAKES TO LOCK UP AGAIN WITH MY KIDS IN THE CAR. THE VEHICLE CLEARLY HAS A RECURRING ELECTRICAL ISSUE THAT CAN NOT BE FIXED. THIS VEHICLE IS A DANGER TO ME AND MY FAMILY IT IS A TIME BOMB WAITING TO EXPLODE WITH THE ANTILOCK BRAKE LOCKING UP WHILE I'M DRIVING OR EVEN PARKED IN MY DRIVEWAY. DRIVING MY DAUGHTER TO SCHOOL THIS MORNING, SLOWED FROM 25 MPH FOR UPCOMING STOP SIGN. LOST ALL POWER AND STEERING. ALL ELECTRICAL COMPONENTS IN THE VEHICLE WERE BLANK. SEEMED A BIT DIFFICULT TO STOP BUT NOT SURE IF THAT WAS A BRAKE ISSUE. STORED VEHICLE. PUT IT IN PARK. LIGHTS ON COMPONENTS CAME BACK ON IMMEDIATELY AND BUTTON START INDICATOR STILL LIT IN RUN POSITION. STEPPED ON BRAKES AND PUSHED THE BUTTON AND THE VEHICLE STARTED FINE. NO ISSUES ON RETURN HOME. ALMOST EXACTLY 2 HOURS LATER TRIED TO TAKE MY SON TO SCHOOL. HIT UNLOCK BUTTON ON KEYS, NO RESPONSE. TRIED MULTIPLE TONNES AND ANY/ALL BUTTONS- NO RESPONSE. USED "VALET" KEY TO UNLOCK DOOR. NO COMPONENT LIGHTS OR INDICATORS CAME ON. LEFT THE DRIVERS DOOR OPEN, OPENED HOOD, LOOKED AROUND, NO OBVIOUS PROBLEMS. SHOOK BATTERY CABLES- ALL TIGHT. CLOSED HOOD HAZARD LIGHTS STARTED FLASHING. GOT IN AND PRESSED ON THE BRAKES, PUSHED START BUTTON AND VEHICLE STARTED. DID NOT DRIVE IT AT THAT TIME. BARELY 2 HOURS LATER I STARTED THE VEHICLE TOO DRIVE TO WORK. LET IT WARM UP FOR ABOUT 3 MINUTES, THEN TOOK CITY STREETS. ABOUT 1 MILE INTO THE DRIVE I STOPPED FOR A RED LIGHT. VEHICLE AGAIN LOST ALL POWER, NO LIGHTS ON COMPONENTS, NOTHING. HAD A VEHICLE COMING UP BEHIND ME SO QUICKLY PUT IT IN PARK AND RESTARTED THE VEHICLE. OIL INDICATOR LIGHT CAME ON. LOOKED AT VEHICLE INFO AND TEMPS WERE ALL WITHIN MID-RANGE. GOT TO WORK (APPROXIMATELY 1 MORE MILE AWAY) AND TURNED VEHICLE OFF. I HAVE STARTED IT ON EACH BREAK (EVERY 2-3 HOURS) AND NONE OIL LIGHT IS ON AND NO OTHER ISSUES HAVE OCCURRED. I BOUGHT THIS VEHICLE ON JANUARY 5TH, HAVE DRIVEN IT PRACTICALLY EVERY DAY, PUT ALMOST 400 MILES ON IT (NOW AT 14,807) AND NO ISSUES UNTIL TODAY. SCARED TO DRIVE IT NOW BUT MUST GET TO WORK TO PAY FOR IT!

THIS IS THE SECOND TIME MY CAR HAS LOST ENGINE POWER, ALONG WITH POWER STEERING AND BREAKS. I PULLED UP TO A LIGHT AND STOPPED TO TURN RIGHT. I WAS ON A BUSY SURFACE STREET. AS I TRIED TO TURN AND ACCELERATE I FOUND THE POWER STEERING WAS GONE AND THAT THE CAR WAS ROLLING. ALL THE CAR ELECTRICAL I.E. MUSIC , LIGHTS WERE ON BUT THE ENGINE WAS DEAD. I HIT THE POWER BUTTON AND THE CAR STARTED AGAIN. I WILL TAKE THIS CAR INTO DODGE AGAIN BUT I SUSPECT THAT THEY WILL TELL ME THAT THEY CAN'T FIND ANYTHING WRONG WITH THE VEHICLE AND SEND ME HOME WITH IT. THIS HAPPENED LAST YEAR ALSO AND THERE HAS BEEN NO RESOLUTION.

CAR HAS 20K MILES, WHILE DRIVING THE ABS AND TRACTION CONTROL LIGHTS CAME ON. DEALERSHIP DISCOVERED THAT, IN ADDITION TO THE ABS AND TRACTION CONTROL, THE AIRBAGS WERE NOT WORKING. THE DEALERSHIP INFORMED ME THAT WATER BOTTLES HAD ROLLED UNDER THE FRONT PASSENGER SEAT AND BROKEN THE WIRES FOR THE AIRBAGS. THIS IS A 8 SEAT FAMILY VEHICLE AND CAN BE ASSUMED THAT CHILDREN WOULD BE IN THE BACK SEAT, THEREFORE SPILLS AND/OR TRASH ARE LIKELY TO ROLE UNDER THE DRIVER AND FRONT PASSENGER SEATS, YET THE WIRES IN QUESTION OR THIN, FRAGILE, AND UNPROTECTED. FURTHERMORE, I HAVE NEVER RECEIVED ANY WARNING LIGHTS THAT THE AIRBAGS WERE NOT FUNCTIONING AND HAVE NO IDEA HOW LONG THE AIRBAGS HAVE NOT BEEN FUNCTIONING. DURING A GOOGLE SEARCH, I DISCOVERED THAT SEVERAL OLDER DODGE VEHICLES HAVE BEEN RECALLED FOR SIMILAR ISSUE, YET DODGE REFUSES TO ACKNOWLEDGE THE DESIGN FLAW. THE WIRES UNDER THE PASSENGER SEAT SUPPOSEDLY DO NOT AFFECT THE ABS AND TRACTION CONTROL, BUT I BELIEVE IT IS SUSPECT THAT THESE ISSUE OCCURRED AT THE SAME TIME (AND COMPLAINTS ON OTHER DODGE VEHICLES HAVE INDICATED THAT MOVEMENT OF THE SEATS DISLODGED THE WIRES AND TURNED OFF ABS AND AIRBAGS). THE DEALERSHIP WANTS 300 DOLLARS TO FIX THE WIRES, BUT OFFERS NO WAY OF PREVENTING THE PROBLEM FROM REOCCURRING. I HAVE ALSO FOUND THREE SAFETY RECALLS ON THIS MODEL THAT NEITHER DODGE OR THEIR SERVICES PROVIDERS HAVE NEVER INFORMED ME OF! I BELIEVE THIS MODEL NEEDS TO BE CLOSELY INSPECTED, AS IT ALREADY HAS THREE SAFETY RECALLS IN LESS THAN A YEAR (NOT INCLUDING THIS ISSUE). I DO NOT HAVE PICTURES, BUT THE DEALERSHIP DOES.

SCREEN IN CAR RESETS TIME AND ALL SETTINGS. HAS BEEN UPDATED REPEATEDLY AND CONTINUES TO DO SO.
