P0240 code keeps coming up but the catalytic converter was changed and the cylinders at the dlrshp. This has been an ongoing issue for over 3 years.
Was driving car after cleaning it had a box in trunk that barely took a portion of the trunk up. While drive smelt smoke and electrical smell and my trunk was on fire inside. Pulled over and the back hatch inside got so hot from what I can only guess was electrical that the box caught fire. This caused a whole inside back hatch and melted part of my seat and damaged my storage containers.
Unknown and my air bag light keeps coming on even though we have gotten the coolant fixed and a new/used engine put in the car, we replaced and got a new battery and new alternator in it to and the oil has gotten changed in it.
While driving the car, car stalled and began displaying the lightning bolt icon on the cluster. The power steering stopped working and the brake was very stiff and hard to depress. I pulled off the road and waited a few minutes and started the car again. The idle was very rough, icon was still displayed on the cluster, and car began jerking and stalled again. I had the vehicle towed to the house and began looking into the issue. Error codes read on the car was P0365: Camshaft Position Sensor “B” Circuit, and the red lightning bolt indicating an issue with the electronic throttle body. The battery was taken out and tested bad so it was replaced. The throttle body was cleaned and tested good. When I tried to start the car after the codes were cleared, the vehicle attempted to start but wasn't able to turn over fully. The P0365 code returned. I then had a mechanic come check out the car to see if he could do anything to help. He determined that the valves in the engine were bent and the cars timing was off. With all of this being said, This issue I am complaining about is the P0365 Camshaft sensor code. There was a recall for the camshaft sensors in some 2016 Dodge Journeys but my VIN did not fall in that range. When I called FCA, I was told there was nothing to be done because my VIN wasn't included in the recall. A bad camshaft sensor would cause all of the issues that I am experiencing with the car. If the sensor is bad or doesn't perform as it should, it could effect the overall timing of the engine's firing sequence, causing stalling, failure to start, and damage to the engine, like in my case with the bent valves. This incident posed a severe safety risk to myself and the other drivers around me due to the loss of power steering and partial loss of braking ability. Luckily this incident did not occur on the interstate or major highway, where there are speeds in excess of 55 mph.
My 2016 dodge journey sxt is currently having transmission problems and is stuck in 3rd gear.
Windows are not working
My engine dies while I'm driving without any warning/indicators. The engine light comes on as well. The diagnostic code reads P0335. There is a recall for my make model year but my VIN isn't listed in Dodge's database. There have been multiple incidents over the past few months
both driver and passenger headrests popped open randomly while my car was in park

The driver's headrest in my 2016 Dodge Journey has deployed and will not reset. The plastic pieces that hold the metal bar have broken. I have read about many other owners of Journeys, that are experiencing the same issue, yet there is no official recall. I have not taken it to be inspected.

In regards to the recall S89 that has NOT been issued for my 2016 Dodge Journey - the crankshaft sensor has been replaced 3 times. While traveling on the highway, at highway speeds the vehicle will just die with little to no warning. Most recently 7/20/2023 - this is the 3rd time this has occurred.
While driving, the front passenger headrest just deployed and sprung forward, hitting my son in the back of the head
Headrest came undone when moving seat to vacuum under seat. It is loose and cannot be repaired. I saw there are issues with this same headrest that were recalled on the previous model year. We do not have an active recall, but this is a safety issue as the headrest is just precariously sitting atop two metal bars.
When you change to park reverse drive there's a loud noise. When you put in drive and start driving it doesn't move and sounds like it's in park or neutral. I have pulled out in traffic and it has done this four times now
I was on the freeway and all of a sudden these lights came on and my car slowed down to a very dangerous pace and would not accelerate. This is only 2 weeks after getting 2 new tires on it. I received notice of a recall for my vehicle, when reviewing the recall list, I noticed I have issues where all icons come on, and the radio turns channel without selection. I can no longer check the vehicle status (oil level, tire pressure, etc.). I recently completed a scheduled oil change, and the next day received notice the vehicle was due for an oil change. In the recalls listed, I am having the same issue, but my VIN is not showing. Please help, as my 2016 Journey should be part of this list.
The problem started back in April, where lights on my dash started coming on. I noticed a different feel when i drive now. I dont know if its electrical steering or what. Its the BRAKE, ABS, A TIRE, and A Car with Swerve Lines... I dont feel safe when me and my kids are in truck. One time i was driving and it said i was going 99 but was actually going 45. Also it says there are 4 RECALLS ON THIS MODEL but when i put my VIN its says i have no unrepaired recalls. THAT IS FALSE! THE RECALLS LOOK LIKE SOME OF THE RPOBLEMS MY VEHICLE IS HAVING. I dont know whats going on but for my kids safety im gone need it handled and fixed!
Unknown: my vehicle driver side carpet gets, my heat comes on by itself constantly my check engine light comes on and off and sometimes my acceleration and braking doesn't match or lineup at times when I brake/ slow down and then get back on the gas it doesn't register or pick up on breaking and slowing down a lot of dodge journey's have these same issues according to online reviews
my daughter bought a 2016 Dodge Journey SXT new from the dealership. The following have been replaced: Head, Camshaft, four times position sensor A&B & the Radiator Fin Neck. That was $2000. that didn't fix all of the problems so it went to the Dealership. They swore to my daughter & husband that it was the Camshaft sensor failing, wiring harness failing, it had a break in a wire and 1 sensor had a high resistance and another sensor had NO resistance. They quoted us $1750. and that it would fix the problem. Now after 3 weeks they say that wasn't the problem and that it was going to cost another couple of thousands of dollars. There was a important safety recall for 2016 Dodge Journeys on the crankshaft sensor &/or camshaft electrical connector terminal, which says it could cause a crash from the engine stalling while driving. They say it was certain Dodge Journey, Jeep Compass & Jeep Patriot. Vehicles manufactured May 9, 2016 to July 15, 2016 that was a Manufacturer Recall S89(Also, NHTSA safety recall # 16V907000 crankshaft or camshaft sensor, causing engine to stall) I've seen other people with the same problem. Not to mention the dealership is now saying there's a part they need and have no way of getting. WOW so we owe them almost 2K and they really don't know what the problem is. My daughter is a single mother of 2 and can't not have a car. She still makes payments on the Journey the dealership has. How can a business cover one vehicle for the same issue another is having??? That's total crap!! Either fix it under the recall for free or get her out of the vehicle without going upside down... Why should someone have to argue when you know that this problem exists??? It's hard enough these days & dealerships don't care they just want to blame you for the problem and continue to rack up for fixing something that should be covered, & that you cant get a part that the car needs? That one still stumps me, how can you not get a part for your own product?

WITH IT BEING A CAR A YEAR OLD I FIND THIS TO BE DISTURBING AND THAT CHRYSLER IS NOT STEPPING UP TO THE PLATE AND ORDER RECALLS AS THIS ALSO RESULTS IN POOR GAS MILEAGE. AT THIS POINT I HAD ONLY HAD THE CAR SHORT OF TWO MONTHS. THEY ALSO SAID THAT THE BRAKES WOULD NEED REPLACED DUE TO THIS WEAR. THIS IS A FAIRLY NEW VEHICLE ONLY A YEAR OLD AT THE TIME. HOW IS THIS POSSIBLE? I AM TOLD THAT THIS IS "NORMAL WEAR" AND NOT COVERED UNDER WARRANTY. I HAD A DODGE DURANGO PREVIOUSLY, WENT OVER THE MOUNTAIN 20+ TIMES OVER ONE YEAR AND DID NOT HAVE TO REPLACE BRAKES OR ROTORS AND IN THE 10 YEARS I HAD THE DURANGO NEVER NEEDED ROTORS REPLACED.... FAULTY MANUFACTURING IN THE DODGE JOURNEY 2016 IF YOU ASK ME
AFTER BEING REAR ENDED AT A STOPPED POSITION AND PUSHED INTO ANOTHER STOPPED VEHICLE IN FRONT, THUS CAUSING A DOUBLE COLLISION, THE DRIVER SEAT HEADREST COMPLETELY EJECTED FROM DRIVER SEAT. DRIVER SEAT ADJUSTMENT BAR CAUSED DEEP TISSUE DAMAGE TO LEGS. THIRD ROW SEAT SPLIT AND SEPARATED SEAT SURFACE FROM BACK SUPPORT. INCIDENT TOOK PLACE AT A REDLIGHT FOR A LEFT-TURN LANE FROM THE HIGHWAY TO AN INTERSECTING ROAD. VEHICLE WAS STRUCK BY A MINIVAN STILL MAINTAINING FULL HIGHWAY SPEED OF AT LEAST 55 MPH. AS I WAS DRIVING HOME FROM WORK, I WAS AT A STOP LIGHT WHEN MY ENGINE STALLED. I PUT MY CAR BACK INTO PARK TURNED OFF THE THE CAR AND TURNED IT BACK ON. WHILE STILL DRIVING HOME AS I WAS GETTING OFF THE FREEWAY AND MAKING A LEFT HAND TURN MY CAR THEN SHUT DOWN AGAIN AND I LOST ALL POWER STEERING. THIS CANT BE SAFE FOR MY CAR WHILE IN DRIVE MOVING TO JUST COMPLETELY SHUT DOWN. THE CAR IS ONLY TWO YEARS OLD AND IT'S THE FAMILY CAR. THANKFULLY THE KIDS WHERE NOT IN THE CAR OR IT SHUT DOWN WHILE I WAS ON THE FREEWAY.

THE REAR RIGHT SIDE PASSENGER WINDOW ISN'T WORKING. FOR A WHILE IT WAS ROLLING UP AND DOWN SLOWLY, AND SEEMED TO BE STICKING. AFTER A COUPLE OF WEEKS IT GOT WORSE, WE LOCKED THE WINDOWS AND WOULDN'T ALLOW THE KIDS TO ROLL DOWN THEIR WINDOWS. THERE WERE 3 TIMES WHERE WE THOUGHT THE WINDOW WASN'T GOING TO WORK AT ALL. WE WERE OUT OF STATE AND AFTER ROLLING THE WINDOW DOWN IT WOULDN'T GO UP. WE HAD TO PARK OUR CAR OVERNIGHT TWO TIMES AT OUR HOTEL WITH THE WINDOW DOWN BECAUSE IT WOULDN'T GO UP. JUST RECENTLY IT STOPPED WORKING ALL TOGETHER. MY SON ROLLED THE WINDOW DOWN AND HAD HIS UPPER TORSO (HEAD) LEANING OUT THE WINDOW. WE WEREN'T IN MOTION (PARKED) AND THE WAY HIS HAND WAS POSITIONED ON THE WINDOW BUTTON IT PUSHED IT UP, IT STARTED ROLLING UP AND WHEN HE NOTICED HE HAD GOT SQUISHED BETWEEN THE WINDOW ITSELF AND THE UPPER FRAME OF THE DOOR. HE REALIZED HIS HAND WAS PUSHING ON THE WINDOW BUTTON AND TOOK HIS HAND OFF AND TRIED TO ROLL IT BACK DOWN.... IT WOULDN'T BUDGE. HE STARTED YELLING FOR US AND WE WENT AND SHOVED THE WINDOW DOWN WITH OUR HANDS WHILE TRYING TO USE THE WINDOW BUTTON TO ROLL IT DOWN, IT MOVED VERY, VERY, SLOWLY. WE WERE ABLE TO GET IT ALL THE WAY DOWN AND NOW IT WONT GO BACK UP. ITS BEEN ROLLED ALL THE WAY DOWN FOR 4 DAYS NOW. SIGH.......... CURRENTLY LOOKING AT MECHANICS TO TRY AND FIX THE PROBLEM.

ENGINE SHUT OFF ON 7/7/2017 APPOX 2:40 PST THE VEHICLE WAS STOPPED AT A STOP LIGHT ON A BUSY SURFACE STREET WHEN THE LIGHT TURNED GREEN I PRESSED THE GAS TO MOVE THROUGH THE LIGHT AND THERE WAS NO POWER COMING FROM THE ENGINE. I WAS ABLE TO PULL OVER, PUT THE CAR IN PARK AND TURN THE ENGINE OFF. I PUSH BUTTON STARTED THE ENGINE AND THE CAR OPERATED AS NORMAL. ON 7/8/2017 APPROX 1:30 PST I WAS COMPLETING A LEFT HAND TURN WHEN THE VEHICLE STALLED WITH NO POWER COMING FROM THE ENGINE. I PUT MY FLASHERS ON, PUT THE CAR IN PARK, TURNED OFF THE ENGINE. WITHIN SECONDS I PUSH BUTTON STARTED THE VEHICLE AND IT STARTED UP NORMALLY.

WE WERE DRIVING THROUGH AN INTERSECTION AND THE BACK HATCH BACK OPENED EVEN THOUGH THE VEHICLE LOCKS WERE ENGAGED AND LOCKED SHUT. THE DOOR LOCKS WERE ENGAGED. THERE WAS NO WARNING LIGHT, NO AUDIBLE ALARM-NOT A WARNING OF ANY KIND. AT THAT POINT, WE HAD NOT IDEA THE HATCH BACK WAS OPENED, AND BECAUSE WE WERE ON A SLIGHT INCLINE, A GOLF CLUB FELL OUT OF THE GOLF BAG AND LANDED IN THE MIDDLE OF THE ONTERSECTION. WE REALIZED THE HATCH WAS OPENED AFTER WE PASSED THROUGH THE INTERSECTION ( SAQUARO AND SHEA IN FOUNTAIN HILLS , ARIZONA. MAJOR CONCERN AS THERE WAS NO WARNING OF THE INSTRUMENTATION OF ANY KIND, AND THIS WAS A RENTAL CAR. I BELIEVE IF WE HAD A FULL CARGO PAYLOAD, IT WOULD HAVE DISCHARGED FROM THE REAR CAUSING TRAFFIC IMPEDIMENT AND POSSIBLE CRASHES TO SAY NOTHING OF THE LOSS OF PROPERTY OR IF WE HAD A LIVE ANIMAL , THE LOSS OF THE ANIMAL.
