To put it as simple as I can describe it is a death wobble. that occurs every time you hit a bump in the road, hole, or pot hole. This truck has always had this death wobble from factory. The reason why this is a safety issue is because it causes the steering wheel to go out of balance and go into other lanes in the road and potentially cause an accident.

HELLO, I HAVE HAD A PROBLEM WITH MY DODGE RAM THE FUEL LINE SYSTEM JUST CRACKED AND CAUSED MY VEHICLE TO CATCH FIRE AND BLOW UP WHILE MYSELF IN MY 7 YEAR OLD GRANDDAUGHTER WAS IN THE VEHICLE MY VEHICLE HAS BEEN MAINTAINED SINCE DAY ONE WHEN I BOUGHT IT BRAND NEW NEVER HAVING PROBLEMS WITH IT OTHER THAN YOUR WILL WELLS WERE NEVER DRILLED OUT TO DRAIN THE WATER IN THE BACK I WOULD LIKE TO KNOW IF YOU HAVE HAD OTHER ISSUES WITH THIS VEHICLE ON THE SAME INCIDENT. THE FCM AND PDC ARE EXTREMELY BAD ON THE 2002 DODGE. THEY CORRODE CAUSING YOUR BRAKE LIGHTS, BLINKERS, HEADLIGHTS AND EMERGENCY FLASHER NOT TO WORK. DODGE SHOULD HAVE BEEN MANDATED TO RECALL AND REPLACE BOTH PARTS ON EVERY TRUCK. THE CORROSION IS DO TO THE POOR DESIGN OF THE PDC "FUSE BOX" WITH HOLES IN THE BOTTOM ALLOWING WATER AND MOISTURE TO ENTER THE PDC AND START TO CORRODE. THIS IN TURN CAUSING THE FCM " FRONT CONTROL MODULE" TO SHORT OUT. THIS IS A SEVERE DANGER TO THE TRUCK OWNER AS WELL AS OTHER MOTORISTS AND PEDESTRIANS ON THE ROAD. THIS IS A VERY SERIOUS MATTER AND NEEDS TO BE LOOKED IN TO AND FIXED. I HAVE PERSONALLY EXPERIENCE THIS AND HAVE ALMOST BEEN HIT SEVERAL TIMES BY MOTORISTS BEHIND ME DO TO THE FACT MY TAILLIGHTS QUIT WORKING AND MY BLINKERS DID AS WELL. I HAVE REPLACED MY FCM AND PDC 4 TIMES ALREADY AND EACH ONE SHORTS OUT AFTER A YEAR. THAT'S $600-$1200 EACH TIME. DODGE IS RESPONSIBLE FOR THIS PROBLEM.

ONLY TO BUY A NEW TRUCK MADE WITH A BETTER DASHBOARD BECAUSE THE REPLACEMENT THEY SELL IS ONLY $900.00 BUT MADE WITH THE SAME MATERIALS. WILL BE BACK AT THE SAME PLACE WITH PIECES OF DASHBOARDS HITTING OUR EYES,MOUTH OR FACE. IT IS A DANGER TO VISIBILITY WHILE DRIVING AND A SHAME THAT A COMPANY CAN BE ALLOWED TO USE SUCH LOW GRADE MATERIAL THAT IS SOLD TO HARD WORKING INDIVIDUALS. NOTICED OTHERS HAVE MADE THE SAME COMPLAINT. DODGE DID NOT ATTEMPT TO FIX OR GIVE A SOLUTION TO FIX THE CRACKING. IT NOW INTERFERES WITH THE AIR FLOW AND CAUSES WINDSHIELD FLOW TO BE DIRECTED AWAY FROM REMOVING INTERNAL "FOGGING". NOW THE BLOWER WILL ONLY OPERATE AT THE HIGHEST SPEED.

THE DASHBOARD ON MY 2002 DODGE RAM IS LITERALLY DISINTEGRATING BEFORE MY EYES. IT HAS MULTIPLE CRACKS ALL OVER IT. THE VENT COVER UNDER THE WINDSHIELD HAS ALSO BROKEN, AND THE SMALL PIECES THAT COVER THE DEFROSTER HOLES HAVE BROKEN AND FALLEN DOWN INTO THE DEFROSTER SO THAT WHEN IT IS TURNED ON HIGH SMALL PIECES OF PLASTIC WILL FLY UP AND HIT YOU IN THE FACE. IT'S RIDICULOUS THAT YOU HAVE TO PUT ON SAFETY GLASSES IF YOU ARE GOING TO RUN THE DEFROSTER SO THAT YOU DON'T RISK HAVING PLASTIC PIECES STRIKE YOU IN THE EYES. SEVERAL OF THE DASHBOARD CRACKS RUN COMPLETELY FROM THE FRONT TO THE REAR OF THE UPPER DASHBOARD. THIS IS A WELL KNOWN PROBLEM TO DODGE, AND I AM BAFFLED THAT THIS SAFETY ISSUE OF FAILING DASHBOARDS IS NOT BEING ADDRESSED AND CORRECTED. THIS HAS TO BE CORRECTED AND I FEEL DODGE SHOULD BE HELD RESPONSIBLE AND BE MADE TO FIX THIS DEFECT!

DODGE HAS A RECALL FOR THIS ON 2005 MODELS AND NEWER BUT THE 2002-2004 MODELS OF THE RAM 1500 PICK UP SHOULD BE INCLUDED IN THIS.

WE HAVE CONTACTED DODGE AND THEY SAY THAT THIS IS NOT A DEFECT, AND WILL NOT RECALL THE DEFECTIVE PIECE, BUT THERE ARE NUMEROUS COMPLAINTS ABOUT THE SAME ISSUE, AND IT SEEMS TO BE COMMON WITH THE DODGE RAM. TODAY, MY DASH CRACKED OVER THE EDGE NEAR THE PASSENGER SIDE AIRBAG. AFTER GETTING ONLINE AND SEEING THAT THIS IS A COMMON PROBLEM, I WOULD LIKE TO SEE SOMETHING DONE ABOUT THIS ISSUE (IE - FREE DASH REPLACEMENTS FROM DODGE). I HAVE HAD NO OTHER COMPLAINTS ABOUT THIS TRUCK BUT THIS IS A LITTLE RIDICULOUS. THIS IS DEFINITELY A MANUFACTURER PROBLEM AND SHOULD BE REPLACED FOR FREE. PROBLEM IS WITH THE DASH BOARD/PANEL CRACKING ON MY DODGE RAM 1500 TRUCK. IT IS A YEAR 2002 TRUCK. ON 10/18/2004, I COMPLAINED TO CHRYSLER, THEY AGREED TO REPLACE THE DASH PANEL WHICH WAS CRACKED IN 2 PLACES. THE PART WAS FREE; HOWEVER, THEY MADE ME PAY FOR LABOR. AFTER ONLY A FEW MONTHS, THE DASH STARTED CRACKING YET AGAIN. IN EARLY 2005 I SUBMITTED E MAILS AND RECEIVED NO RESPONSE. I WROTE CHRYSLER COMPLAINING ON 1/24/05 TO WHICH I RECEIVED A RESPONSE ON 2/16/2005 TELLING ME THEY WOULD NOT COVER REPLACEMENT. I CONTACTED CHRYSLER VIA E MAIL AGAIN AND THEY PRETTY MUCH BLEW ME OFF. I KEPT COPIES OF THE E MAIL TRAFFIC, AND MY PROTEST THAT THEY WOULD NOT REPLACE THE PART. CRACKED DASHBOARD IN 2002 DODGE RAM 1500 IT'S CRACKED IN SEVERAL AREAS RIGHT NOW. THE DEALER WAS UNSURE HOW TO HANDLE THIS SITUATION, AS THEY ARE A USED CAR LOT. I NEVER WITNESSED ANYTHING LIKE THIS BEFORE AND SEEING AS HOW I JUST BOUGHT THIS VEHICLE, I SHOULDN'T HAVE TO WORRY ABOUT A 4 YR OLD TRUCKS DASHBOARD BREAKING UP LIKE A JIGSAW PUZZLE. I'M WORRIED ABOUT THE AIRBAGS NOT WORKING CORRECTLY, OR WORSE YET, BEING DEPLOYED WITH THE SLIGHTEST OF BUMPS FROM ANOTHER VEHICLE. FROM WHAT I'VE HEARD FROM OTHER OWNERS, THEY'VE BEEN TOLD THAT DODGE IS BASICALLY BRUSHING THEM OFF, SAYING THAT THEIR VEHICLES ARE PASS THEIR MILEAGE AND WARRANTY AND THERE IS NOTHING THAT THEY CAN DO FOR THEM. I HAVE A 2002 DODGE RAM 1500 PICK-UP TRUCK. AT APPROXIMATELY 35,000 MILES THE MIDDLE OF THE DASHBOARD BEGAN TO CRACK. AT FIRST IT STARTED OUT AS A HAIRLINE CRACK AND THEN GREW LONGER. I HAVE TAKEN MY TRUCK TO THE DEALERSHIP AND SHOWED THE DEFECT TO THE MANAGER, WHO RELATED THE VEHICLE WAS OUT OF WARRANTY AND THERE WAS NOTHING HE COULD DO TO HAVE IT REPLACED FOR FREE. I HAVE ALSO CONTACTED CHRYSLER, WHO ALSO DECLINED TO FIX THE PROBLEM, ALTHOUGH THEY DID ACKNOWLEDGE THAT THERE WERE MANY OTHER COMPLAINTS OF THE SAME NATURE CONCERNING 1999 AND UP DODGE RAM'S. IN JUST 6 MONTHS, THE HAIRLINE CRACK HAS NOT ONLY GOTTEN LARGER, BUT NOW THE DASH HAS 4 MORE CRACKS IN VARIOUS OTHER LOCATIONS. ONE LOCATION THAT IS VERY CONCERNING TO ME IS THE ONE ABOVE THE PASSENGER SIDE AIRBAG. I HAVE SINCE TAKEN MY TRUCK BACK TO THE DEALERSHIP AND TOLD THEM OF MY CONCERN AND THAT I FEEL THIS IS NOW A SAFETY ISSUE. OUR DODGE RAM 1500 WAS WORKING FINE ONE DAY THE NEXT DAY THE HEADLIGHTS, TURN SIGNALS, AND BRAKE LIGHTS WERE NOT FUNCTIONING. WE CHECKED FUSES AND ANYTHING ELSE OBVIOUS. THE NEXT DAY WE TOOK IT TO A MECHANIC, AFTER HALF A DAY OF CHECKING HE FOUND THAT THE FUSE AND RELAY CENTER WHICH IS LOCATED UNDER THE HOOD WAS CORRODED. THIS BOX IS NOT AIR TIGHT AND ALLOWS WATER TO GET INSIDE AND CORRODE THE INSIDES. I BELIEVE THIS IS A DESIGN DEFECT AND SHOULD BE RECALLED FOR IT IS VERY DANGEROUS TO DRIVE THIS WAY. THE TRUCK IS A 2002 AND IS NO LONGER UNDER WARRANTY BUT I THINK THIS IS BESIDE THE POINT. MY HUSBANDS BUSINESS PARTNER HAS THE SAME TRUCK ONLY A 2003 AND AFTER HEARING ABOUT THE PROBLEM HE POPPED THE HOOD OF HIS TRUCK AND FOUND THE VERY SAME THING WAS HAPPENING. WHEN CONTACTING DODGE THEY TOLD US THERE IS NOTHING THEY CAN DO. I DON'T BELIEVE THIS IS TRUE I BELIEVE THEY MUST RECALL THIS PART. I HAVE A 2002 DODGE RAM THAT REPLACED A LEMON 2001 DODGE RAM. THE 02 HAS HAD A PROBLEM WITH THE FRONT END PULLING AND SHACKING SINCE THE DAY RECEIVED THE TRUCK IT HAS BEEN IN FOR SERVICE 5 TIMES SINCE AUGUST 5TH 2002. IT ALSO HAS PROBLEMS WITH THE ENGINE IDLE ALLWAYS DROPPING BELOW 500 RPMS AND TRYING TO STALL ALONG WITH VERY HARD DOWNSHIFTING WHEN COMING TO A STOP. THE DEALERS ALLWAYS SAY UNABLE TO DUPLICATE PROBLEM EVEN THOUGH IT HAPPENS ON MY WAY HOME FROM THE DEALER IT IS VERY FRUSTARTING TO DROP OFF THE TRUCK FOR DAYS AT A TIME ONCE OR TWICE A MONTH AND THEN BE TOLD UNABLE TO DUPLICATE THE PROBLEM AND GET IN THE TRUCK AND IT HAPPEN BUT THE DEALERS CLAIM THEY DONT FEEL THE PROBLEM OR CAN'T FIND THE PROBLEM. THE TSB'S FOR THE ENGINE IDLE HAVE BEEN PERFORMED AND ALL IT DID WAS MAKE IT NO STALL OUT COMPLETLY ONLY IDLE WAY DOWN AND ALSO MY GAS MILAGE AND THE OVERALL PERFORMANCE TO GO DOWN. I HAVE REQUESTED DODGE BUY THIS THING THEY CALL THE MAYOR BACK ON NOV 15TH 02 AND THEY HAVE NOT RESPONDED. WHAT CAN I DO NOW DAIMLER IS JUST IGNORING MY PROBLEMS WITH THIS TRUCK.
