The air bag light is on and it has a recall the lights behind the gages went out and the engine has a knock at times
I was in a head on accident going approximately 40 mph. I was wearing my seatbelt. A Chevy Trailblazer Crossed the centerline and hit me head on at approximately 40 mph. The airbags did not deploy and the seatbelt also did not restrain. As a result I hit the steering wheel and broke my sternum & suffered numerous other injuries. The Incident was documented by police and has been reported to my insurance company, Auto-Owners Insurance. No one has inspected the airbags or seatbelts but the vehicle is available for inspection.

TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2007 DODGE RAM 1500. WHILE DRIVING APPROXIMATELY 70 MPH, SMOKE AND FLAMES APPEARED FROM UNDERNEATH THE DASHBOARD. THE CONTACT PULLED THE VEHICLE OVER TO THE SIDE OF THE ROAD AND EXTINGUISHED THE FIRE WITH A FIRE EXTINGUISHER. THE FIRE DEPARTMENT ARRIVED AND, AFTER INSPECTING THE VEHICLE, REPORTED THAT THE AIR BAG MAY HAVE LEAKED AND CAUSED THE FIRE. THE CONTACT ALSO STATED THAT THEY HEARD A LEAKING AIR NOISE COMING FROM THE VEHICLE. THE VEHICLE'S DASHBOARD WAS BURNED AND THE VEHICLE WAS INOPERABLE. THE CONTACT STATED THAT THE VEHICLE REMAINED ON THE SIDE OF THE ROAD. THERE WERE NO INJURIES. THE DEALER AND MANUFACTURER WERE NOT MADE AWARE OF THE FAILURE. NHTSA TAKATA RECALL #'S 16V-325 AND 15V-313... IT HAD TO HAVE MY DRIVERS SIDE AIRBAG REMOVED IN MAY OF 2015 AND NOW MY PASSENGER SIDE AIR BACK HAS TO BE REPLACED. IN MAY OF 2015 I WAS PUT ON A LIST AT MY LOCAL DODGE DEALER TO HAVE THE PARTS ONCE AVAILABLE TO BE INSTALLED. ITS BEEN OVER 2 YEARS AND THEY STILL DO NOT HAVE THE PARTS AVAILABLE TO INSTALL IN MY VEHICLE. THEY HAVE ALSO PUT ME ON THE LIST FOR THE LIST TO HAVE THE PASSENGER SIDE AIRBAG REPLACED. MY ISSUE IS THAT I HAVE TO DRIVE A VEHICLE THAT NOT ONLY HAS AN INOPERABLE AIRBAG, BUT ALSO HAS ONE THAT CAN RUPTURE. ITS UNSAFE AND WHAT HAPPENS IF I GET INTO A COLLISION WITH NON FUNCTIONING AIRBAGS! MY SAFETY IS AT RISK AS WELL AS ANY PASSENGERS I CARRY. I DID NOT PURCHASE THIS VEHICLE TO HAVE NON FUNCTIONING OR INCORRECTLY FUNCTIONING COMPONENTS DUE TO MANUFACTURER DEFAULT. A REMEDY TO THIS SITUATION SHOULD BE ESTABLISHED IN A TIMELY MANNER BEFORE SOMEONE ELSE IS KILLED OR SERIOUSLY INJURED DUE TO THESE DEFECTS. I HAVE 4.88 GEARS IN MY TRUCK SO IT TRIPS THE WHEEL SPEED SENSORS AS SOON AS I DRIVE. I'D SWAP THE AIRBAGS OUT MYSELF BUT NOBODY WILL SELL THEM TO ME. IT'S BEEN ABOUT 2 YEARS WITHOUT DRIVING MY TRUCK ANYWHERE WAITING ON AIRBAGS THAT NOBODY WILL EVEN LET ME PURCHASE. I'VE TALKED TO LANDERS DODGE IN LITTLE ROCK, FLETCHER DODGE AND SUPERIOR DODGE IN CONWAY AND NONE OF THEM WERE WILLING TO DO ANYTHING WITHOUT "FIXING" A PROBLEM THAT DOESN'T EXIST WITH THE WHEEL SPEED AND TRANSMISSION, IT'S THE 4.88 GEARS. I BOUGHT A 2007 DODGE TRUCK FROM THE DEALERSHIP WHEN IT WAS NEW. WHILE DRIVING A FEW DAYS AGO, WE SWERVED TO AVOID HITTING A DEER, AS A RESULT WE HIT A POWER POLE. THE TRUCK PERFECTLY CENTERED THE POLE, BUT TO OUR DISMAY THE AIRBAGS DID NOT DEPLOY. WE WERE TOLD THAT THERE ARE SENSORS LOCATED AT CERTAIN POINTS ON THE TRUCK AND IF THE SENSORS AREN'T HIT THAT THE AIRBAGS WOULDN'T DEPLOY. WE WERE GOING ABOUT 45-50 MPH WHEN THE TRUCK HIT THE POLE. I HAVE PICTURES OF THE "SENSORS" WHERE THE TRUCK IS DENTED, BUT THE SENSORS OBVIOUSLY DIDN'T WORK. WHAT SHOULD BE OUR NEXT STEP? WHILE DRIVING AT ABOUT 65MPH, MY PASSENGER SIDE FRONT WHEEL CAME OFF THE VEHICLE. I WAS INVOLVED IN A SOLO SPINOUT, ACCIDENT DUE TO THE WHEEL COMING OFF. THE CAUSE WAS DETERMINED TO BE THE LOWER A-ARM OF THE SUSPENSION FAILING, AND LETTING THE BALL JOINT FALL OUT OF PLACE. WHEN THE WHEEL WAS RECOVERED FROM THE ACCIDENT, IT STILL HAD THE STABILIZERS ATTACHED, ALONG WITH THE BALL JOINT, AND VARIOUS PARTS OF THE STEERING, AND 4WD. THE ACCIDENT CAUSED ME TO HIT A GUARD RAIL AT 65MPH, AT A 45-DEGREE ANGLE. AMAZINGLY, MY AIRBAGS DID NOT DEPLOY ON IMPACT. I SUFFERED WHIPLASH DUE TO THE IMPACT. THE POINT OF IMPACT ON THE TRUCK WAS THE FRONT PASSENGER SIDE. *TR

THE DEALER STATED THAT THERE WAS NO FAILURE WITH THE AIR BAGS. THE DRIVER AND FRONT PASSENGER WERE WEARING SEAT BELTS. THE DRIVER HIT HIS HEAD ON THE STEERING WHEEL AND SUSTAINED BRUISES. THE PASSENGER SUSTAINED ABDOMINAL INJURIES. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 400 AND THE CURRENT MILEAGE WAS 700.
