WHILE DRIVING MY 2007 DODGE 3500 RAM 6.7L DUAL, 6SPD MANUAL, PULLING MY CAMPER (WELL WITHIN TOWING LIMITS,) I WENT OVER A BUMP ON AN OVERPASS. THE VEHICLE BEGAN JUMPING AROUND VIOLENTLY AND I LEFT THE ROADWAY DUE TO LOSS OF STEERING AND BRAKE FUNCTION. THE EVEN WAS SO VIOLENT, MY RADIATOR BROKE, AND I LOST ALL OF MY COOLANT. MY "FRONT END" WAS DESTROYED, AS WELL AS MANY SYSTEMS DAMAGED. THE INTERIOR OF THE TRUCK SUFFERED DAMAGE AS WELL. THERE ARE MANY NOISES, VIBRATIONS, AND SMELLS THAT HAVE NOT GONE AWAY. I FOUND OUT THAT THIS IS A PROBLEM SO COMMON, THAT IT HAS A NICKNAME, "THE DEATH WOBBLE." I FOUND OUT THAT THERE IS A SAFETY RECALL BEGINNING THE YEAR AFTER MY MODEL. AFTER SOME RESEARCH, MY MODEL YEAR HAS THE SAME PARTS DESCRIBED IN THE AFFECTED MODEL YEARS. THIS IS A COMMON OCCURRENCE, SEEMINGLY WELL KNOWN TO DODGE. I WAS TOLD BY A CERTIFIED SHOP THAT IT IS NOT SAFE TO DRIVE. THEY SHOWED ME SEVERAL AFTERMARKET PARTS DESIGNED TO ELIMINATE THIS PROBLEM. THE STEERING SYSTEM ALONE WAS QUOTED AT $3,000 TO REPAIR. THE RADIATOR WAS DISTURBINGLY EXPENSIVE. MY EXHAUST SYSTEM WAS DAMAGED AND PARTS OF IT FELL OFF. THERE IS AN EXHAUST LEAK. NOT TO MENTION, THAT I ALMOST FLEW OFF OF AN OVERPASS. MY TRUCK HAS BEEN BABIED ITS ENTIRE LIFE, AND LOOKS NEW. WHEN I CONTACTED DODGE, THEY WERE UNWILLING TO HELP. I TOLD THEM THAT THIS IS THE SAME PROBLEM COVERED BY THE RECALL IN VEHICLES CONTAINING ALL OF THE AFFECTED PART NUMBERS AS MINE. I TOLD THEM THAT I COULD HAVE BEEN KILLED IN THIS EVENT, AND THAT THE PROBLEM HAS PERSISTED TO THE POINT WHERE IT IS UNSAFE TO DRIVE. THE REPAIRS FOR THE DIRECTLY AFFECT DAMAGES COULD BE NEARING $10,000 ACCORDING TO THE CERTIFIED SHOP IT WAS BROUGHT TO. THIS DOESN'T ACCOUNT FOR COMPONENTS THAT HAD A REDUCTION IN LIFESPAN FROM THIS EVENT. I JUST WANT MY FRONT END REPAIRED SO THAT I CAN DRIVE OR SELL IT. HAVEN'T USED MY CAMPER SINCE.

WE BOUGHT THE TRUCK OUT OF STATE FROM THE CHRYSLER DEALERSHIP IN BONHAM TX AND THEY CLAIMED IT WAS A LOW MILEAGE TRUCK, WITH NO ISSUES. IT HAD BEEN PURCHASED NEW FROM THEM, ALL SERVICES DONE AND THEN TRADED-IN FOR A NEW TRUCK. WE ASKED TO HAVE AN OUTSIDE INSPECTOR CHECK IT OUT BUT WAS UNABLE TO LOCATE ONE FROM THE SMALL TOWN AREA WITHIN THE ALLOTTED TIME THEY WANTED US TO PICK IT UP. WHEN WE WENT TO GET THE TRUCK, IT WENT FOR A SHORT TEXT RIDE AND THEN COMPLETED PAPERWORK AND RUSHED OUT THE DOOR. WE HAD ASSUMED THAT THE DEALER DID A COMPLETE OVERALL INSPECTION AND REPAIR OF ANY ISSUES WITH THE TRUCK. ON OUR WAY BACK TO CA THE TRUCK WATER PUMP HAD BROKE CAUSING THE SERPENTINE BELT TO FALL OFF AND LOOSE STEERING ALMOST CAUSING THE TRUCK TO WRECK. WE TOWED IT TO A REPAIR FACILITY WHERE THEY FIXED THE PUMP AND TOLD US THAT THERE MAY ALSO BE A TRANSMISSION ISSUE. SO THE NEXT DAY WE WENT TO THE CLOSEST CHRYSLER DEALERSHIP TO HAVE IT CHECKED OUT. THEY OK'ED THE TRANS AND WE PURCHASED AN CHRYSLER WARRANTY (BECAUSE OF THE LOW MILES & YEAR) SINCE WE HAD BOUGHT IT FROM A DEALER (IN TX) THE TRUCK WAS ELIGIBLE FOR 48K/4 YRS COVERAGE. A FEW DAYS (2.4K MILES LATER) THE "CHECK ENGINE LIGHT" CAME ON. WE ASKED OUR LOCAL DEALER TO CHECK THE TRUCK OUT TO SEE WHAT OTHER ISSUES IT MAY HAVE. THE CODE WAS FOR THE CAM POSITIONING SENSOR (COVERED BY THE WARRANTY) AND THE DEALER FOUND OTHER ITEMS INCLUDING: NEEDING NEW BRAKES ALL AROUND, 4X DRIVETRAIN SERVICE, INJECTOR FLUSH, AIR, FUEL AND OIL FILTERS THAT I HAVE TO PAY FOR. THE MAIN ISSUE: THE FRONT END WITH A BAD STEERING BOX, TIE ROD ENDS AND UPPER/LOWER BALL JOINTS NEED TO BE REPLACED. THE CHRYSLER REP SAID IT IS AN PRE-EXISTING CONDITION AND WON'T COVER THE PARTS/LABOR. BOTH THE WARRANTY ISSUING DEALERSHIP AND MY LOCAL DEALERSHIP TOLD ME THEY WOULD NOT HAVE SOLD THE TRUCK IN THAT CONDITION. ARE THESE COVERED UNDER A RECALL?

WHILE TRAVELING ON THE HIGHWAY, WHEN I'M AT HIGHWAY SPEEDS AND I HIT A BUMP IN THE ROAD THE ENTIRE FRONT END OF THE TRUCK SHAKES AND BOUNCES UNCONTROLLABLY UNTIL I SLOW TO AROUND 50 MPH. I HAVE HAD BALL JOINTS, TIE RODS, SHOCKS AND STEERING STABILIZER REPLACED, PLUS NEW TIRES AND MULTIPLE ALIGNMENTS PERFORMED. MY MASTER MECHANIC SAID NON OF THIS WILL REMEDY THE ISSUE. THE Y TYPE STEERING SETUP IS THE PROBLEM, THE DEALER TOLD ME IT NEEDS TO BE UPDATED TO THE 09 STEERING BUT IT'S NOT COVERED UNDER RECALL. YET YOU CAN NO LONGER EVEN BUY THE Y STEERING FROM THE DEALER THE WILL ONLY SELL YOU THE 09 T STYLE. HOW IS THIS OK? I DO NOT HAVE $265.00 TO PAY FOR JUST THE PARTS NEVER MIND LABOR, BECAUSE THE P.O.S. TRANSMISSION NEEDED REPLACE "$7500.00" LIKE EVERY OTHER 47RE IN THE WORLD. ALSO 3 OUT OF MY 6 SEAT BELTS NO LONGER RETRACT OR THEY GET STUCK HALFWAY OUT AND IT TAKES 10 MINUTES TO GET IT TO WORK. I WOULD LIKE TO AT LEAST HAVE THE STEERING AND SEAT BELTS ADDRESSED ASAP. I WAS TOLD THEY DID NOT HAVE BOTH PARTS SO THE APPOINTMENT WAS SET FOR ABOUT 4-5 WEEKS LATER. WHEN THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO THE DEALERSHIP THE AIR BAG RECALL WAS FIXED BUT THEY REFUSED TO FIX THE RECALL ON THE STEERING LINKAGE. THEY STATED MY TRUCK HAD THE "OLD DODGE PART" SO THAT WAS NOT COVERED. THIS PART IF FAILS WILL CAUSE ME TO HAVE NO STEERING CONTROL. I HAD A CHRYSLER CERTIFIED MECHANIC LOOK AT THE STEERING PART ON MY TRUCK AND HE STATED IT WAS SO BAD HE WOULD BE SCARED TO DRIVE THE VEHICLE. THE TECHNICIAN DIAGNOSED THAT THE AXLE FRACTURED AT THE TRANSFER BOX AND DAMAGED THE STEERING LINKAGE. AS A RESULT, THE TRANSFER BOX, STEERING LINKAGE, AXLE, AND FIVE SENSORS WERE REPLACED. MY HUSBAND AND I WERE DRIVING DOWN SOUTH PADRE ISLAND DRIVE AND THE TRUCK STARTED SHAKING FROM THE FRONT END. MY HUSBAND LOST CONTROL OF THE STEERING WHEEL AND COULD NOT CONTROL NOR STOP THE SHAKING OF THE TRUCK. HE HAD TO SLOW DOWN AND STEER TO THE SIDE OF THE ROAD. WE HIT A SMALL POLE AND THE REAR BED WAS HIT. MY ARMS AND LEGS WERE PRETTY BANGED UP AND BRUISED, SO I SOUGHT MEDICAL ATTENTION. EVERY SINCE THE INCIDENT HAPPENED, OUR TRUCK HAS NOT BEEN MOVED BECAUSE IT WILL NOT PASS INSPECTION DUE TO THE STEERING AND LOSING CONTROL PROBLEM. THE TRUCK SHAKES REAL BAD AND FEELS LIKE IT IS FALLING APART WHEN THIS PROBLEM OCCURS. SO THEREFORE, IT CAN NOT BE DRIVEN BECAUSE OF THIS PROBLEM. WE TOOK IT IN TO THE DODGE DEALERSHIP AFTER IT HAPPENED AND THEY DENIED HELPING US AND TEST DRIVING IT TO SEE FOR THEMSELVES THAT THE TRUCK DOES START TO SHAKE AND LOSE CONTROL WHILE BEING DRIVEN. SO EVERY SINCE THIS INCIDENT, OUR TRUCK HAS BEEN PARKED AND MY HUSBAND TOOK IT IN TO MAKE SOME PREVIOUS REPAIRS AND THOSE REPAIRS WERE AND HAVE BEEN UNSUCCESSFUL BECAUSE THE TRUCK STILL DOES THE SAME THING WHILE EITHER I AM DRIVING IT OR MY HUSBAND IS DRIVING IT OR ANYBODY ELSE IS DRIVING IT.

LOADED AT 18000 LBS GVW WHILE TOWING A TANDEM AXLE TRAILER THE VEHICLE DIED. UPON LOSING ALL ELECTRICAL POWER THE ENGINE DIED CAUSING THE LOSS OF POWER ASSISTED BRAKES AND POWER ASSISTED STEERING. FORTUNATELY THE SPEED OF THE VEHICLE WAS AROUND 5 MPH. I'M 6 FOOT TALL AND OVER 200 LBS AND I WAS UNABLE TO STEER THE VEHICLE TO THE SIDE OF THE PARKING AREA. UPON LEAVING THE VEHICLE I IMMEDIATELY SMELLED ELECTRONICS BURNING. I OPENED THE HOOD AND IMMEDIATELY DISCONNECTED THE POSITIVE POST OF THE TOTALLY INTEGRATED POWER MODULE (TIPM). I THEN REMOVED THE TIPM TO FIND A HOLE BURNT THROUGH THE SIDE AND THE CIRCUIT BOARD COVERED WITH BLACK SOOT. I HAD THE VEHICLE AND TRAILER TOWED TO CORBIN KY WHERE THERE WERE NO DODGE DEALERS WILLING TO WORK ON A VEHICLE OF THIS SIZE. NOR WOULD THEY STORE THE TRAILER FOR ME WHILE CONDUCTING THE REPAIR. I CHOOSE TO HAVE THE VEHICLE AND TRAILER TOWED OVER 600 MILES TO MY HOME IN MICHIGAN. I CALLED MY LOCAL DEALER WHOM TOOK THE VIN NUMBER TO ORDER AN NEW ONE. AFTER OVER 2 WEEKS WAITING ON THE TIPM (WHICH TURNED OUT TO BE REMANUFACTURED) THE TRUCK IS STILL NOT OPERABLE. IF I HAD BEEN TRAVELING AT INTERSTATE SPEEDS WITH A LOADED VEHICLE I LIKELY WOULD NOT HAVE SURVIVED THIS INCIDENT. PRIOR TO THIS HAPPENING I HAD MANY ISSUES WITH THE LIGHTING ON THE TRUCK. THE LOW BEAM ON THE PASSENGER SIDE WOULD BE INOPERABLE WHILE THE DRIVERS HIGH BEAM IS THE ONLY ONE THAT WOULD WORK. ALSO, THE TAILLIGHTS WOULD STOP WORKING ON ONE SIDE AND THE TURN SIGNALS WOULD FLASH QUICKLY. NOT SEEING THIS AS A HUGE SAFETY ISSUE I SIMPLY TOOK IT THE DEALER TO REFLASH THE TIPM. AFTER GETTING IT BACK WITH HALF THE LIGHTS INOPERABLE, THE AC DIDN'T WORK ANYMORE. NOW THE VEHICLE IS WORTHLESS AND ALL SENSE OF SECURITY AND SAFETY IS GONE. WE RECEIVED A RECALL NOTICE FOR THE TRUCK IN THE BEGINNING OF JANUARY 2014 CONCERNING THE LEFT TIE ROD AND THE POTENTIAL FRACTURE OF THE LEFT BALL STUD ON THE TIE ROD. WE CALLED OUR DEALER, [XXX], RIGHT AWAY AND WERE TOLD TO CALL BACK THE FOLLOWING MONTH AS THEY WERE TOO BUSY WITH OTHER RECALL REPAIRS AND WOULD NOT MAKE AN APPOINTMENT FOR US. WE CALLED BACK THE FIRST OF FEB AND MADE AN APPOINTMENT TO HAVE THE TRUCK REPAIRED ON FEB 14. WHEN I DROVE TO THE DEALER THEY JUST LOOKED AT IT AND SAID IT DID NEED REPAIRED AND SAID THEY WOULD PUT ME ON THE LIST. I SAID THAT WE WERE TOLD IT WOULD BE FIXED. THEY SAID THEY HAD TO ORDER THE PART AND IT WOULD BE A COUPLE OF WEEKS. AFTER 3 WEEKS WE CALLED THEM AND THEY FINALLY TOLD US THAT THE PARTS THAT CHRYSLER ORDERED DID NOT FIT AND THAT THEY WOULD BE ORDERING NEW PARTS. THE FOLLOWING MONTH WE CALLED THE CHRYSLER HOTLINE AND COULD GET NO ANSWERS. WE ASKED IT WE SHOULD NOT DRIVE THE TRUCK. THE WOMAN SAID "I DID NOT SAY THAT" AND THAT WAS PRETTY MUCH ALL SHE WOULD SAY. SHE DID SAY THAT WE COULD HAVE IT FIXED ON OUR OWN AND SEND THE BILL TO CHRYSLER AND THAT THEY WERE SLOW TO PAY, 60 TO 90 DAYS. WE CALLED THE DEALER AGAIN AND THEY SAID THEY COULD NOT FIX IT AND WE COULD TAKE IT TO OUR OWN MECHANIC. THEY ADVISED NOT DRIVING THE TRUCK. NO MORE NOTICES HAVE BEEN RECEIVED. WE PAID $40K FOR THIS TRUCK USED AND WE HAUL HORSES WITH IT. WE NEED IT. WE TOOK IT TO OUR MECHANIC. HE SAID THE COMPLETE DESIGN OF THE STEERING LINKAGE WAS "MICKEY MOUSE" AND HE COULD NOT BELIEVE THEY USED A STEEL TUBE IN LIEU OF ROD STEEL FOR THE MAIN STEERING ROD. HE SAID HE ORDERED SOME REPLACEMENT PARTS FOR THE LEFT SIDE BUT THEY WOULD NOT FIT INTO THE REMAINING PIECES. HE SAID IT LOOKS LIKE THE ENTIRE THING NEEDS TO BE REPLACED. AFTER FINDING THAT THIS IS SUCH A COMMON OCCURRENCE WITH RAM TRUCKS, IT SEEMS THAT THE ISSUE HAS BEEN COVERED UP BY DODGE AS THEY WILL NOT ASSIST IN THE COST TO REPLACE THE FAULTY GEOMETRY THAT CAUSES SLOPPY STEERING COMPONENTS. ON THE WAY HOME,THIS TIRE BLEW UP LIKE IT HAD A BOMB IN IT! WE HAVE REPLACED TWO STEERING GEAR BOXES ON THIS 2007 DODGE RAM 3500.WE CALLED SEVERAL DODGE DEALERS FOR A REPLACEMENT BOX BUT THEY SAID THAT THEY ARE BACK- ORDERED AND WOULD BE A THREE WEEK WAIT IF THEY CAN EVEN GET ONE SINCE THEY HAVE ABOUT 1,013 ON BACK ORDERS AS OF YESTERDAY.WE WERE INFORMED THAT THIS GEAR BOX IS THE SAME ONE THAT IS USED ON THE MERCEDES BENZ AUTOMOBILES.NOW THERE IS ALOT OF DIFFERENCE BETWEEN A CAR AND A VERY HEAVY DUTY 1 TON TRUCK.THEY REALLY DIDNT THINK THIS ONE OUT,IT IS A REAL SAFTY PROBLEM.MY HUSBAND WAS TURNING FROM THE HIGHWAY TO THE SIDE STREET WHEN IT BROKE ,THIS WAS THE SECOND ONE WE PUT ON IT ONLY HAD 213 MILES ON IT.DODGE MUST BE AWARE OF IT AS THE DEALERS HAVE TOLD US IT IS A PROBLEM HE HAD TO WAIT FOR TRAFFIC TO LET HIM MAKE A WIDE TURN ONTO THE ONCOMING LANE OF TRAFFIC.WE HAVE A 2003 DODGE RAM PU WITH THE SAME GEAR BOX AND I DRIVE IT ALL THE TIME AND NOW I AM THINKING IF THIS WOULD HAPPEN TO ME I DO NOT THINK I COULD HAVE THE STRENGHT TO AVOID A SERIOUS PROBLEM, ON THE OPEN HIGHWAY IT WOULD BE HORRIBLE.THIS IS THE VEHICLE I USE TO TRANSPORT OUR SEVERLY HANDICAPPED SON NOW I AM CONCERNED FOR OUR SAFTY AS WELL AS OTHERS WITH THESE TRUCKS PLEASE LOOK INTO THIS PROBLEM THANK-YOU. *TR

TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2007 DODGE RAM 3500. WHILE DRIVING APPROXIMATELY 25 MPH, THE CONTACT EXPERIENCED DIFFICULTY IN CONTROLLING THE STEERING. TL*THE CONTACT OWNS A 2007 DODGE RAM 3500. WHILE DRIVING AT APPROXIMATELY 25-35 MPH, THE CONTACT DROVE OVER A POTHOLE AND THE RIGHT FRONT TIE ROAD FAILED CAUSING HIM TO LOSE CONTROL OF THE VEHICLE. WHILE DRIVING AT HIGHWAY SPEEDS (65MPH OR GREATER) MY 2007 DODGE RAM 3500 WILL SUDDENLY BEGIN TO SHAKE VIOLENTLY AFTER AN UNEVEN SURFACE IN THE ROAD IS STRUCK. THIS HAS HAPPENED SEVERAL TIMES OVER THE COURSE OF THE PAST 2 YEARS. THE ONLY "FIX" ACTION IS TO SLOW THE VEHICLE BY RELEASING THE GAS PEDAL AND APPLYING THE BRAKE. I HAVE TAKEN THE VEHICLE INTO THE DEALER TO HAVE IT INSPECTED FOR A SAFETY RECALL INVOLVING THE STEERING AND WAS TOLD THERE WAS NOTHING WRONG. I TOOK THE VEHICLE INTO A SECOND DEALERSHIP AFTER THIS LAST EPISODE OF "DEATH WOBBLE" AND WAS TOLD THAT THE TIE RODS, AND STEERING DAMPENING SHOCK NEEDED TO BE REPLACED. THE VEHICLE IS STILL UNDER WARRANTY AND THE DEALERSHIP IS IN THE PROCESS OF ORDERING THE PARTS TO REPLACE THE TIE RODS AND STEERING DAMPENING SHOCK. I PURCHASED A NEW 2007 DODGE 3500 , THAT STARTED TO FAIL IN MANY AREAS OF THE VEHICLE, BEFORE THE 10,000 MILE MARK. FREEDOM DODGE HERE IN LEXINGTON KENTUCKY DELIBERATELY EXECUTED INSURANCE FRAUD TO BLAME CLUTCH FAILURE ON A MINOR COLLISION THAT NEVER BUSTED A LIGHT, RADIATOR, ETC. AND WAS ABLE TO DRIVE AFTER COLLISION. BEFORE THE ACCIDENT I NOTICED CLUTCH SLIPPING, TRUCK TIRES BEGAN TO WEAR AT AN EXTREME RATE, AND VIBRATIONS WAS BECOMING AN INCREASING PROBLEM. I THEN TOOK THE TRUCK TO FREEDOM DODGE WHERE THEY BLAMED ALL ON MINOR COLLISION, IN WHICH I TURNED TO GEICO FOR REIMBURSEMENT. GEICO FOUGHT DODGE ON THIS ISSUE, THEN FREEDOM DODGE WENT BACK ON THEIR PREVIOUS DOCUMENTATION AND BLAMED THE FAILURES ON ME, AND DOCUMENTED THAT. I HAVE DOCUMENTS OF THEM GOING BACK ON THEIR PREVIOUS DOCUMENTATION. I HAVE ALL DOCUMENTATION TO SUPPORT ALL, WHILE PAYING A HIGH PAYMENT FOR THIS SO CALLED "HEAVY DUTY" TRUCK, I WAS FORCED TO MAKE REPAIRS OR GIVE BACK. AFTER REPLACING CLUTCH THAT COST ME OVER $1600.00 THE OTHER PROBLEMS VISIBLY ARISING WAS TO MUCH TO TAKE FROM MY FAMILY TO PAY FOR. I HAVE HAD A 03 RAM 2500, 04 RAM 3500, AND 07 RAM 3500. I HAVE EXPERIENCED A DEATH WOBBLE NUMEROUS TIMES WITH EACH VEHICLE AT ALL HIGHWAY SPEEDS AFTER HITTING POT HOLES AND BUMPS. LEFT TIE ROD END CAME APART AT 70 MPH WITH DRIVER AND 3 CHILDREN ON BOARD. HWY.31 EAST OF DAWSON TEXAS.GOT TRUCK STOPPED WITH OUT INCIDENT WITH OUT STEERING. HAMMERED TIE ROD BACK TOGETHER TO GET ON TRAILER AND HAD TRUCK TRAILERED TO BERRY CHRYSLER.THEY SAID THERE WAS A RECALL ON THE STEERING LINKAGE BUT THIS WAS THE APPROVED LINKAGE AND NO FARTHER ACTION NEEDED. THEY TOLD ME TO CONTACT YOU TO COMPLAIN BECAUSE THEY KNEW A RECALL WAS NEEDED BUT CHRYSLER WOULD NOT LISTEN TO THEM. TO FIX THE TRUCK THEY REPLACED THE WHOLE STEERING SYSTEM.
