The contact owns a 2006 Dodge Stratus. The contact stated that while driving at an undisclosed speed, she heard an abnormal sound coming from the front passenger’s side of the vehicle. The contact stated that she parked and inspected the vehicle and became aware of the control arm on the ground, the tire pushed away from the vehicle, and bolts and screws on the ground underneath the vehicle. The vehicle was not diagnosed or repaired by an independent mechanic or dealer. The manufacturer was not made aware of the failure. The failure mileage was approximately 200,000.

The entire front suspension feels as though it is going to fall outward at any moment. I have had this inspected by two separate dodge dealerships. I’ve also had this inspected by friends that are mechanics. I also have knowledge and I know something is not right with the control arms tire rods, ball joints. The front suspension is horrible. I worry every day. I’m gonna runoff the road or I’m gonna hit someone or something bad is gonna happen. Upon doing my research, I saw many other Dodge Stratus vehicles that were recalled for the same exact reason. My question is why was my car left out of the recall when clearly it has major safety issues.

I HAD LOST CONTROL OF THE STEERING I RAN IN TO A GUARD RAIL MY CAR DIDN'T WANT TO GO BECAUSE THE RIGHT PASSENGER FRONT SIDE WAS TOTALLY TOUCHING THE GROUND I GOT OUT THE CAR SEEN MY ENTIRE FRONT PASSENGER TIRE WAS OFF THE CAR. I THEN STARTED CRYING. I JUST BOUGHT THIS CAR IN JULY 2019 98,000 ORIGINAL MILES. BAD PURCHASE DECISION!

HI! MY SON WAS DRIVING MY 2006 DODGE STRATUS AND THE CONTROL ARM BROKE AND THE AXLE SEPARATED ON THE PASSENGER SIDE CAUSING IT TO HIT A PARKED CAR. WE HAVE A POLICE REPORT THAT DOCUMENTS THE AXLE SEPARATION AND PICTURES ARE AVAILABLE. I NOTICED ONLINE THAT THIS HAD BEEN A PROBLEM WITH THE 2006 DODGE STRATUS SO I CHECKED FOR RECALLS BUT OUR VIN WAS NOT PART OF THE RECALL (10E059000). MY HUSBAND WENT TO THE DEALERSHIP WHO SOLD ME THE CAR AND HE CALLED DODGE CUSTOMER SERVICE BUT APPARENTLY THERE WAS NOTHING THAT CAN BE DONE. MY CAR CAN NOT BE REPAIRED. IN THE PAST THE CAR'S FRONT END HAD BEEN REPAIRED A NUMBER OF TIMES AND IT WAS DUE FOR AN INSPECTION THIS MONTH.

I WAS HEARING A CLICKING NOISE COMING FROM BOTH SIDES OF MY CAR IN THE FRONT. I TOOK THE CAR TO A MECHANIC AND WAS INFORMER THAT MY LOWER AND UPPER CONTROL ARMS WERE IN NEED OF REPLACEMENT. THE MECHANIC SHOWED ME THE BALL JOINTS AND LIFTED THEM UP WITH A HUGE SCREWDRIVER. I WAS TOLD BY THE MECHANIC THAT THE TIRE COULD SEPARATE AND CAUSE A ACCIDENT. I WENT TO AUTOZONE AND PURCHASED THE LOWER CONTROL ARMS AND HAD THEM INSTALLED ON THE CAR. WHEN I TOOK THE CAR TO GET THE RECOMMENDED ALIGNMENT I WAS TOLD THAT THE UPPER CONTROL ARMS NEEDED TO BE REPLACED AS WELL. I HAD AT THE TIME ABOUT 169,000 MILES ON THE VEHICLE. I HAVE NEVER RECEIVED A RECALL LETTER FROM ANYONE ABOUT THE PROBLEMS WITH THE SUSPENSION. ITS VERY EXPENSIVE TO REPAIR AND VERY UNSAFE. I PRACTICALLY RUINED A NEW SET OF TIRES BECAUSE OF THIS SUSPENSION PROBLEM AND I AM PRESENTLY EXPERIENCING WEAR DUE TO THE UPPER CONTROL ARM NEEDING REPLACEMENT.

HAVE ONLY HAD THIS CAR A YEAR AND I TOOK IT IN FOR INSPECTION AND THE GARAGE SAID I WAS VERY LUCKY I HADN'T BEEN IN AN ACCIDENT DUE TO THE TIE ROD WAS FALLING APART. I AM A SINGLE MOTHER OF 2 CHILDREN AND I AM VERY FORTUNATE THAT NOTHING HAPPENED. AFTER BEING TOLD BY THE GARAGE ABOUT THIS I DID RESEARCH ON THE INTERNET TO FIND THAT THERE ARE MANY COMPLAINTS ABOUT THE REAR STRUT MOUNTS FALLING APART AND LITERALLY CRUMBLING. YET I CAN NOT FIND IT ON A RECALL LIST. DODGE NEEDS TO RECALL THIS PROBLEM. I HOPE THIS IS TAKEN SERIOUSLY AND AN INVESTIGATION INTO THIS ISSUE IS PURSUED BY THE SAFETY COMMISSION SINCE THERE ARE SO MANY COMPLAINTS ON THE INTERNET. I ONLY HAD THE MONEY TO FIX THE TIE ROD. TL*THE CONTACT OWNS A 2006 DODGE STRATUS. WHILE DRIVING 50 MPH, THE VEHICLE LOWERED ITSELF AND A SCREECHING NOISE WAS HEARD FROM THE FRONT END. THE CONTACT PULLED INTO HER DRIVEWAY AND NOTICED THAT THE FRONT PASSENGER SIDE TIRE WAS COMPLETELY DIVERTED. THE VEHICLE WAS TOWED TO A REPAIR SHOP AND THE MECHANIC STATED THAT THE TIE ROD ON THE FRONT PASSENGER SIDE TIRE WAS COMPLETELY DESTROYED. HE FURTHER STATED THAT THE TIE ROD ON THE FRONT DRIVER'S SIDE WAS ALMOST COMPLETELY DESTROYED AS WELL. IN ADDITION, THE BALL JOINTS ON BOTH REAR TIRES FAILED. THE MECHANIC REPAIRED BOTH TIE RODS AND BOTH REAR BALL JOINTS. THROUGH RESEARCH, THE CONTACT DISCOVERED THAT THESE WERE VERY COMMON FAILURES FOR HER TYPE OF VEHICLE. SHE BELIEVES THAT A RECALL SHOULD BE ISSUED. THE CURRENT AND FAILURE MILEAGES WERE 73,600.

PURCHASED THE CAR IN JUNE 2007 STILL UNDER WARRANTY THINKING I WOULD NOT HAVE PROBLEMS SINCE ANY REPAIRS SHOULD BE COVERED UNDER WARRANTY. I HAVE TAKEN THE CAR IN 6 TIMES FOR THE SAME REPAIRS. THE FIRST IS THE BRAKES, THEY SQUEAK AND RUB. THEY HAVE SCRUBBED THEM 3 DIFFERENT TIME AND IT STILL IS HAPPENING. (THEY ARE COLLECTING MOISTURE TO CAUSE RUST) THE SECOND IS A BUMP STOP WHICH I UNDERSTAND IS COMMON IN DODGE/CHRYSLER PRODUCTS. THEY REFUSE TO DO ANYTHING MORE WITH IT SINCE WHEN THEY PUT IT ON THE MACHINE THE CODES COME BACK WITH NO PROBLEMS. THEY HAD REPLACED SOME OF THE PARTS BACK A FEW MONTHS AGO. THIS REPAIR CUT DOWN ON THE AMOUNT OF BUMP STOPS BUT DID NOT STOP THEM. THERE IS A CREAKING SOUND IN THE FRONT END. THEY HAVE GREASED THE STRUTS AND REPLACED A CARRIED ARM. THE NOISE IS STILL THERE. THE LIGHTS DIM AFTER 17-30 SECONDS WHEN THE CAR IS RUNNING. EVERYONE BUT THE MECHANICS SEEMS TO SEE THIS ONE HAPPENING. DEALER ALSO SOLD THIS VEHICLE WITHOUT DISCLOSING IT HAD BEEN IN A PRIOR ACCIDENT! *TR
