WHILE DRIVING VEHICLE WAS SMOKING. CONSUMER PULLED OVER AND NOTICED THAT THE BACK OF THE VEHICLE WAS ON FIRE. A FEW MINUTES LATER THE VEHICLE BLEW UP. *TS THE VEHICLE WAS STILL UNDER WARRANTY BUT THE WARRANTY COMPANY CLAIMED THEY WERE NOT LIABLE. THE CONSUMER DID SOME RESEARCH AND FOUND THAT THE VEHICLE HAD FUEL SYSTEM PROBLEM. THE DEALER WAS CONTACTED AND THEY STATED THAT THE RECALL HAD BEEN DONE ON 8/98 BUT THEY REFUSED TO GIVE THE CONSUMER ANY DOCUMENTATION. *NM
THE VEHICLE SMELLS OF GAS. MANUFACTURER STATES THAT THE VEHICLE IS NOT INCLUDED IN THE RECALL. *AK

RECALL 96V158002 CONCERNING FUEL FUMES. VEHICLE WAS EXPERIENCING PROBLEM WITH FUEL/FUMES ESCAPING FROM THE FUEL TANK. STRONG FUME VAPORS WERE GETTING INTO THE VEHICLE WHENEVER THE VEHICLE WAS AT A STOP OR IDLING POSITION. DEALER AND THE MANUFACTURER WERE NOTIFIED AND THEY INFORMED THE CONSUMER THAT THIS VEHICLE WAS NOT COVERED UNDER THAT RECALL DUE TO VIN. *AK
I HAVE REASON TO BELEVE THAT MY FUEL SYSTEM RECALL WAS NOT DONE/ OR NOT DONE RIGHT. I HAVE READ THE HOLE REPORT ABOUT IT, AND IN THE REPORT IT SAYS THAT THE ALIGNMENT MARKS MUST REMAIN LINED UP BEFORE, DURNING AND AFTER INSTALLING THE PUMP AND GAUGE UNIT. DO NOT ALLOW THE PUMP OR GAUGE UNIT TO ROTATE DURING OR AFTER INSTALLATION INTO THE TANK, RESULTING IN INACCURATE FUEL GAUGE READING, WHICH WOULD REQUIRE THIS REPAIR TO BE REPEATED. NOW MY PROBLEM IS, THAT WHEN MY SAYS ITS ON 3/4 TANK IT IS EMPTY, I GET A FUEL LIGHT AND MY CAR SPUTTERS AND FUEL CUT OFF HAPPENS. I ALMOST STALLED ON 220, DOING ABOUT 65MPH. THAT WOULD NOT OF BEEN GOOD. I DONT KNOW IF THIS WAS DONE OR DONE INCORRECTLY BUT I WOULD LIKE TO HAVE IT CHECKED OUT, NOW DSC SAYS I SHOULD'T WORRY ABOUT IT.*AK

FUMES WERE ENTERING INTO PASSENGER'S COMPARTMENT. A RECALL HAS BEEN ISSUED ON VEHICLE'S MAKE AND MODEL. HOWEVER, THIS VEHICLE WAS NOT INCLUDED DUE TO VIN.*AK
COMPUTER CONTROL MODULE WAS CAUSING VEHICLE TO STALL. ALSO CAUSED FUEL PUMP TO SHORT OUT. *AK THE CONSUMER SAYS THE VEHICLE HAD SEVERAL RECALLS AND STILL EXPERIENCING THE COMPUTER FAILURE. *YH

FUEL TANK INLET HOSE LEAKED, WHEN FUEL TANK WAS FULL, GAS WOULD LEAK ON THE GARAGE FLOOR
WHILE DRIVING WOULD SMELL STRONG FUEL ODOR. THEN, WHEN STOPPING FOUND OUT THAT FUEL HAD BEEN LEAKING UNTIL EMPTYING HALF OF FUEL TANK. TOOK VEHICLE TO DEALER, AND TECHNICIAN SAID THATTHE CAUSE WAS A RUBBER FUEL LINE THAT BUSTED. *AK
VEHICLE WAS PARKED INSIDE OF THE PARKING LOT, AND CONSUMER NOTICED A QUART OF GAS ON THE PAVEMENT. ALSO, FELT A SMELL OF GAS COMING FROM INSIDE OF CAR GAS TANK WAS RECALLED TWO YEARS AGO, AND DEALER INSTALLED A BRAND NEW FUELTANK . *AK
WHILE THE VEHICLE WAS PARKED IN THE DRIVEWAY IT CAUGHT ON FIRE IN THE ENGINE COMPARTMENT. OWNER WAS ABLE TO PUT OUT FIRE WITHIN A FEW SECONDS. OWNER ALSO REPLACED THE FUEL FILTER LINE. PART NUMBER MR126409. *AK
RECALL 96V158002, FUEL TANK; DEALER KEEPS TELLING OWNER TO COME BECAUSE THE PARTS ARE THERE. THE OWNER GETS TO DEALERSHP AND DEALER SAYS PARTS ARE NOT THERE. MANUFACTURER STATES THEY CAN'T DO ANYTHING TO HELP. *AK
THE CONSUMER FIRST RECEIVED A RECALL LETTER FROM THE MANUFACTURER. THE LETTER WAS ABOUT A REPAIRS ON THE FUEL TANK. SINCE THE CONSUMER RECEIVED THE LETTER SHE HAD TAKEN THE VEHICLE THREE TIMES TO DEALER, ONE OF THOSE TIMES THAT FUEL WAS SPILLING FROM THE TANK, THE CONSUMER TOOK VEHICLE BACK TO DEALER. BUT NOW SHE SAID THERE IS VERY STRONG SMELL OF FUEL. SOMETHING ELSE, DEALER SPRAYED INSIDE OF THE VEHICLE THAT CONSUMER CAN'T STAND WHILE DRIVING. *AK CONSUMER STATES DEALER HAS REPLACED THE TANK AGAIN AND PROBLEMS STILL EXIST, THE FUMES MAKE CONSUMER SICK, SHE HAS BEEN TO THE DOCTOR ON SEVERAL OCCASIONS FOR FLU LIKE SYMPTOMS AND FEELS THIS MAY BE RELATED TO THE FUEL SMELLS. *SLC
VEHICLE STARTED LEAKING GAS BETWEEN THE CONNECTION OF THE FUEL LINE AND FUEL TANK AND CAUGHT FIRE. PREVIOUS WORK HAD BEEN DONE ON THE VEHICLE TO CORRECT A FUEL LEAK UNDER A RECALL.
