IT HAS CHECK ENGINE LIGHT ON, MOMENTARY ENGINE IDLE, RPM SURGE WHEN STOPPED OR DURING LOW SPEED DRIVING, SUCH AS TURNING INTO A PARKING OR BACKING OUT OF A PARKING SPOT. PULLING IN OR BACKING OUT OF THE GARAGE. STOPING AT A STOP LIGHT, LUNGES FORWARD: CAME CLOSE TO CAUSING PROPERTY DAMAGE BY RUNNING INTO ANOTHER VEHICLE IN PARKING LOT OR AT STOP LIGHT. SAFETY ISSUE, WHAT IF THE CAR LUNGES FORWARD AT A STOP LIGHT INTO INCOMING TRAFFIC, CAUSING BODILY INJURY AND PROPERTY DAMAGE. FORD SHOULD HAVE RECALLED THIS SAFETY ISSUE. I PURCHASED THIS CAUSE AFTER THE 10 YEAR WARRANTY EXTENSION WAS ISSUED. THE PREVIOUS OWNER DID NOT FIX THIS, I JUST FOUND OUT ABOUT IT, NOW I WILL HAVE TO FIGHT TO GET FORD TO COVER A KNOWN SAFETY ISSUE, THAT PUTS MY CHILDREN AT RISK. .

THE ENGINE SURGES AND THE CAR LURCHES PERIODICALLY - NORMALLY AFTER THE ENGINE WARMS UP. IT SURGES WHEN YOU TAKE THE CAR OUT OF PARK AND PLACE THE SELECTOR IN DRIVE OR REVERSE. IT ALSO SURGES AND LURCHES WHEN SITTING AT A LIGHT AND REMOVING PRESSURE ON THE BRAKE PEDAL. THE POTENTIAL FOR PROPERTY AND PERSONAL DAMAGE ARE SUBSTANTIAL. FORD SHOULD BE COMPELLED TO ISSUE A RECALL. THERE ARE MANY COMPLAINTS REGARDING THIS DEFECT ON OTHER WEBSITES AND NOTHING SEEMS TO BE MOVING IN THE DIRECTION OF RESOLUTION. PLEASE HELP.

THE VEHICLE WAS NOT DIAGNOSED NOR REPAIRED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOTIFIED OF THE FAILURE. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS APPROXIMATELY 102,000.

THROTTLE BODY HAS BEEN REPLACED TWICE NOW. VEHICLE CURRENTLY HAS 106,982 MILES. THIRD THROTTLE BODY NEEDS TO BE REPLACED. VERY DANGEROUS FOR MY TEENAGER TO DRIVE AS THERE IS NO WARNING WHEN THE ACCELERATION WON'T WORK AND SHE CAN BE ON A HIGHWAY IN TRAFFIC. ALSO, THE BACK DOORS ARE CONSTANTLY FILLING WITH WATER AFTER A RAIN STORM AND NEED TO BE DRAINED.

TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2006 FORD 500. THE CONTACT STATED THAT WHILE DRIVING AT 40 MPH DURING INCLEMENT WEATHER, THE VEHICLE LOST POWER AS THE HEADLIGHTS DIMMED. IN ADDITION, THE VEHICLE JERKED AND THE ACCELERATOR PEDAL WAS DEPRESSED BUT THE VEHICLE FAILED TO ACCELERATE. THE CONTACT ALSO STATED THAT THE VEHICLE THEN STALLED. THE CONTACT WAS UNABLE TO RESTART THE VEHICLE. THE VEHICLE WAS TOWED TO A DEALER, WHO DIAGNOSED THAT THE THROTTLE BODY NEEDED TO BE REPLACED. THE VEHICLE WAS REPAIRED. HOWEVER, THE FAILURE RECURRED AND THE VEHICLE WAS TOWED TO ANOTHER DEALER, WHO DIAGNOSED THAT THE THROTTLE BODY NEEDED TO BE REPLACED. THE VEHICLE WAS REPAIRED. THE ENGINE DIED, MEANING NO ACCELERATION. I RESTARTED THE ENGINE AFTER A REST AND IT STARTED AND DROVE AGAIN. IT HAPPENED AGAIN LATER THAT DAY AND I NOTICED THAT THE RPMS SURGED JUST BEFORE THE ENGINE DIED. I TOOK IT TO AUTOZONE TO GET THE CODES FROM THE COMPUTER, AND THE CODES ARE P2111 AND P2104. THE THROTTLE BODY IS THE LIKELY DEFECTIVE PART.

THE THROTTLE BODY LISTED PRICE IS $562 AND WHEN WE TOOK THE QUOTE IT WAS ON SALE FOR $331.99. WE ARE YET TO GET THIS FIXED AND WILL KEEP THE RECEIPTS FOR THE RECORDS. *TR

UPON DRIVING ON THE FREEWAY, MY VEHICLE SUDDENLY HAS A LOSS OF POWER AND THE INSTRUMENT PANEL SHOWS BOTH A CHECK ENGINE , AND WRENCH LIGHT. I EITHER HAVE TO PULL OVER TO RESTART THE VEHICLE OR PUT THE VEHICLE IN NEUTRAL, AND RESTART THE CAR AS IT IS ROLLING. THIS IS AN EVERYDAY OCCURANCE FOR A LITTLE OVER A YEAR. THE DEALERSHIP MECHANIC SAID THERE HAS BEEN MANY COMPLAINTS ATTRIBUTED TO THE THROTTLE BODY SENSOR; THEREFORE, A RECALL OF THAT PART SHOULD THE THING TO COME! UNFORTUNATELY, IT NEVER HAPPENED. *TR

THERE WAS A RECALL ON THE THROTTLE BODY I TOOK MY CAR TO MY LOCAL FORD DEALER THEY SAID THAT THEY CLEAN THE THROTTLE BODY AND RESET THE COMPUTER IN MY CAR. AND BEFORE I GOT HOME WITH IT MY CAR ALMOST STOP ON ME IN THE MIDDLE OF THE STREETS AND WOULD NOT GO OVER 10 MILES PER HOUR, I CALL THE DEALERSHIP BACK AND TOLD THEM WHAT HAPPEN THEY SAID THE RECALL WAS ONLY FOR CLEANING AN RESETTING THE COMPUTER AND THE OEM. AND I HAD TO PAY FOR THE REPLACEMENT OF THE THROTTLE BODY.WELL MY CAR DOES NOT HAVE OVER 150,000 MILES AND IT IS NOT OVER 10 YEARS OLD. THE EXTENDED WARRANT SAYS. TO REPLACE OR CLEAN. WAS PULLING OUT OF MY ALLY ONTO A VERY BUSY STREET AND THE CAR JUST DIED! I HAD ENOUGH SPEED TO PULL INTO A SIDE STREET. I HAD RECEIVED A RECALL NOTICE AND TOOK IT IN DUE TO THE CAR ACCELERATING UPON PUTTING IT IN DRIVE OR REVERSE. I TOOK IT IN AND THE "REPROGRAMMED" THE THROTTLE ACTUATOR WHICH IS ATTACHED TO THE THROTTLE BODY. IT COST ME $417.00 JUST TO REPLACE THE WHOLE THROTTLE BODY. I SPOKE WITH THE DEALERSHIP ABOUT THIS BUT WAS TOLD THAT BY THEM REPROGRAMMING IT THEY DID THEIR PART. *TR

THE TECHNICIAN DIAGNOSE THAT THE THROTTLE BODY NEEDED TO BE REPLACED. THE VEHICLE WAS REPAIRED BUT THE FAILURE RETURNED. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 119,000 AND THE CURRENT MILEAGE 120,000.

THE CONTACT STATED THAT WHILE DRIVING APPROXIMATELY 45 MPH, THE SERVICE SENSOR WARNING LIGHT ILLUMINATED PRIOR TO THE VEHICLE SUDDENLY DECELERATING TO APPROXIMATELY 10 MPH. THE CONTACT PULLED OFF THE ROADWAY AND LATER RESTARTED THE VEHICLE, AND THE DEFECT WAS CORRECTED. THE VEHICLE WAS DIAGNOSED BY AN INDEPENDENT MECHANIC AND AN AUTHORIZED DEALER, WHO BOTH INDICATED THAT THE THROTTLE BODY NEEDED TO BE REPLACED. THE DEALER CLEANED THE THROTTLE BODY AND UPDATED THE PCM BUT THE VEHICLE CONTINUED TO EXPERIENCE THE DEFECT. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOT NOTIFIED IN REFERENCE TO THE DEFECT. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 54,000.

THE FIRST INCIDENT WAS WHEN I WAS DRIVING IN TOWN. I WAS STOPPING FOR A LIGHT AND THE CAR SURGED. LATER, AS I WAS APPLYING THE BRAKE, THE CAR, JERKED AND SURGED. I HAD A RECALL NOTICE OF AN RPM SURGE, SO WE TOOK IT INTO THE DEALERSHIP AND THEY SUPPOSEDLY REPAIRED THE PROBLEM WITH A COMPUTER ADJUSTMENT. ABOUT 2 WEEKS LATER, ON THE HIGHWAY AT ABOUT 65-70 MPH MY HUSBAND STARTED TO PASS AN 18-WHEELER AND WHEN HE ACCELERATED, THERE WAS A HESITANCY AND THEN, THE TRANSMISSION "CAUGHT" AND WE WERE ABLE TO PASS. WE RECEIVED A RECALL TO CLEAN THE THROTTLE BODY AND THE DEALERSHIP DID AND THAT IS IT. LESS THAN 50 MILES LATER THE CAR SHUT DOWN IN TRAFFIC WITH MY TWO SMALL CHILDREN IN THERE. THAT COULD HAVE BEEN A TRAGEDY. TOOK IT BACK TO THE DEALERSHIP AND THE DEALER SAID TO DRIVE IT AND BRING IT BACK TO CLEAR THE CODES OUT. THE CODES OF P2112, P2114 & P2104 ALL SHOWED. WHEN I CONTACT FORD'S CUSTOMER SERVICE DEPARTMENT THEY TOLD ME IF THE CODES SHOWED THEN IT WOULD BE COVERED FOR REPLACEMENT AND IT IS NOT. *TR

THE CHECK ENGINE AND THE WRENCH WARNING LIGHTS ILLUMINATED PRIOR TO THE VEHICLE FAILURE. ON SEVERAL OCCASIONS THE VEHICLE WOULD NOT GO OR EXTREMELY LATE RESPONSE THEN LUNGE FORWARD WHEN COMMANDED BY PRESSING THE ACCELERATOR. OFTEN TIMES WHEN YOU ARE TURNING IN FRONT OF OTHER TRAFFIC. I HAVE HAD SEVERAL NEAR MISSES WITH BEING STUCK IN AN INTERSECTION OR A VERY DELAYED THROTTLE RESPONSE LUNGING ME INTO ON COMING TRAFFIC. THE CAR GOES INTO LIMP MODE OR THE TRANSMISSION SEEMS TO ACT UP AFTER THIS HAPPENS. I GET A CHECK ENGINE LIGHT AND A WRENCH LIGHT ON THE DASH. ALSO THE CAR HAS HAD UNCOMMANDED ENGINE SPEEDS AT A STOP SIGN OR REDLIGHT. SEEMED TO HAPPEN MORE OFTEN WHEN TURNING THE WHEEL OR THE A/C IS ON. ALSO VERY DANGEROUS. I HAVE THREE KIDS I HAVE TO DRIVE AROUND AND I FEEL UNSAFE IN IT. I HAVE SEEN THESE EXACT SAME ISSUES WITH THIS CAR ALL OVER THE INTERNET ADDRESSING FAULTY ELECTRONIC THROTTLE BODIES AND THE CVT TRANSMISSION.
