2021 FORD BRONCO SPORT Service Brakes Problems

On November 11, 2025, my 2021 Ford Bronco Sport experienced a complete brake system failure while driving. The brake pedal suddenly became extremely hard, and there was no braking power at all. The vehicle had to be stopped using the parking brake. This same issue occurred previously in July 2025, when the brake vacuum booster failed and was replaced at the Ford dealership. The problem has now recurred less than six months later. The vehicle is not safe to drive and is available for inspection upon request. My safety and the safety of others were put at risk because the brakes failed completely without warning while the vehicle was in motion. If traffic conditions had been heavier, a collision could have occurred. The issue has not yet been confirmed by the dealership for this most recent occurrence, but the same Ford dealer that repaired it in July handled the prior failure. The vehicle will be towed there again for inspection. No warning lamps or dashboard messages appeared before or during either failure. The only symptom was a sudden loss of brake assist and a hard, unresponsive brake pedal. This appears to be a repeated failure of the brake vacuum or brake assist system, which I understand has been part of a previous Ford recall (21C31) affecting 2021 Bronco Sport models. But my VIN number was not included in the Recall. This is my second reporting and needs to be recalled.

Low engine oil pressure sensor flashes & can’t accelerate past 40mph

There is a load moaning sound when backing the vehicle up or making a turn which significantly effects steering and stoping. Ford dealership said that tires were not rubbing body and tie rods were ok. This ford bronco sport only has 25K miles on it and never taken off road. Ford said to live with the sound until it bothered us? They said that it didn't need brakes but a new brake job could possibly fix problem? Independent repair shop said that it wasn't a brake issue but didn't know what the problem was. This load sound must be a defect for this vehicle because others on the web have expressed the same problem but ford has not put out a recall as of this date.

While driving with my [XXX] son in the vehicle, the vehicle suddenly shut down completely in the middle of the street at a red light. Nothing was functional and we were unable to move the vehicle out of the street. A tow truck came in 3 hours and towed the vehicle to the dealership. The dealership advised that it was the battery which they replaced. When merging lanes on the interstate with oncoming traffic, the gas accelerator would not accelerate to speed up. I had to step all the way down on it several times until the vehicle was finally able to accelerate. This has also occurred while at a red light and stop sign. Upon starting the vehicle, brakes were extremely hard to press down and barely responded. A great deal of effort was needed to bring the car to a stop at below 5 miles an hour. If I had been driving instead of pulling out of a parking lot, this could have caused a significant accident.

While driving, the brake pedal suddenly required extreme pressure to stop the vehicle safely. I pulled over and parked in a parking lot. Upon opening the hood, I heard a hissing sound. During inspection, I found that the brake booster vacuum hose had broken at the check valve connection near the brake fluid reservoir. A temporary fix restored brake assistance. With the resulting significant loss of brake assist, I was forced to apply near full body weight on the brake pedal to slow and stop the vehicle. This could have easily resulted in a serious crash if traffic conditions were different. The issue has not yet been inspected by a dealer or any others, but the vehicle and the failed component are available for inspection upon request. No warning signs, symptoms, or lights were experienced or observed before the hose failure.

Brake Valve Failure while driving

The brakes make a loud and terrible squeeking noise (moan noise) when driving the vehicle in reverse and braking. There is something terribly wrong and may initiate a problem at a later date when driving forward. Ford is aware of the problem and issued TSB22-2326 in August 2022, revised to 23-2041 in February 2023, revised to 23-2308 in October 2023 and revised again to 25-2143 in April 2025. THEY HAVE SUCCESSFULLY DELAYED THE RECALL FOR THREE YEARS NOW THAT ALL 2021 BRONCO SPORTS ARE OUT OF WARRANTY. This is rediculous and dangerous.

I was driving 70mph on [XXX] in New Jersey when all of a sudden with no prior warning the battery light came on and my vehicle became very hard to control, I felt it shutting down so I immediately pulled to the only shoulder which happened to be on the left. The car shut down and would not start again. A State Trooper said I can not stay on the left shoulder and decided to push my car to the next exit. Since it was an electrical problem my car kept locking up and would not stay in neutral and the steering kept locking as well. I was being pushed on the left shoulder with car speeding past me while my car was locking up which also cause my tires to blow out, I was afraid for my life but the officer continued to push me. This is the second time my vehicle shut down on me leaving me in a dangerous situation, I'm afraid that next time it happens It could cause me to get seriously injured or my life! I had to have it towed to the dealership and I was charged almost $1000 for repairs and 2 weeks later I received a recall letter on this issue for the software. When reversing the vehicle, the rear breaks will make a whale sound I have video

When I bought my vehicle in 2021. The brakes makes a squeaky noise when backing up. I took to dealer and the mechanic said it was normal his wife have the same car and her Bronco does the same thing. The brakes still makes noise when backing up and it’s year 2025. I’m thinking about going to another brake pad but buying a new vehicle for it to squeak is not right.

Like the other people state. Rear brakes make a moaning noise when backing up. First thing in the morning when trying to back the vehicle out of the garage. I put it in reverse, and it holds like the brakes are sticking. You have to hit the throttle to make the care move and you hear a pop noise like the brakes released. My garage is not on a incline or any kind of slope. We took the car to the dealer and they stated Ford knows about it but there is no fix. You need new brakes and rotors that cost over $800. If Ford knows about it why do I have to pay when they know it's a problem?

I was unaware of any previous recalls before I purchased my Bronco Sport used. There is an active recall that has no remedy for the battery. I am actively having issues with my fuel system. It was inspected more than once. Diagnostics returned zero issues 3 times and no warning lights. I insisted further inspection this time which revealed bad purge valve, charcoal canister full of fuel, coolant leak resulting in water pump replacement needed. No warning lights. No codes, active or stored. Due to the absence of codes, they will not replace my fuel injectors per customer satisfaction program 22N18. Was not ever informed that recalls 22S73, 22S21, and 21C31 were either inspected or completed on my vehicle as it was not ever disclosed to me and the Ford website only state "scheduled maintenance" was performed. I still cannot obtain documentation of those previous service records so that I may be informed on what could have led to the current issues I am having with this vehicle. I have 3 kids I drive around and do not feel safe putting them in it anymore due to official documents issued by Ford that state my car could either lose power in the middle of driving it, or catch on fire due to a cracked fuel injector.

Rear brakes are noisy, they make a grinding noise. Ever since we got the vehicle . Screens turn black while driving , can control infotainment system Water gets into the vehicle when it rains or when getting car washed

The vehicle has been in the shop since day one with many many problems! The TURBO failed under warranty so they replaced it without doing proper procedures. A few months later the turbo failed again out of warranty but this time cracked the head causing damages I can not afford!! The vehicle is sitting at the dealership not fixed!! I want out of this lemon!!! I tried getting them to buy it back when I took it to the shop three different times due to break issues they could not fix but a Ford representative told me it "had too many miles" I work out of this vehicle and have not been able to work now for three months!! Note...after the first TURBO was replaced I told the dealership the vehicle was loosing antifreeze but all they did was pressure check the radiator. A few months later engine failure due to turbo failure!!

My 2021 Bronco Sport suddenly died on [XXX]. The parking brake engaged unexpectedly, locking all four brakes and resulting in a significant skid mark. An error message flashed: “Park Not Available. Apply Park Brake Before Exiting,” and the park gear light blinked. I turned off the engine again, but the car was dead when I tried to restart it. After getting a jump start, the car turned on. However, the parking brake engaged again shortly after. I was able to drive it off the road. My wife, a research librarian, found that many others have reported issues related to “Sudden Death Syndrome." See below. [XXX] [XXX] ). The car was towed from PA, where we were visiting, to Stanford Ford, where we purchased it on [XXX]. On 11/13, the dealership told us there was a short circuit in the wiring connected to the solenoid and estimated $900.00 for labor. At noon on 11/15, the technician was test-driving the car. By 4:17 PM, I was told it was ready. 5 min. later, they told me it wasn't ready due to another issue. At 11:15am on 11/18, we were informed the issue was a short circuit in the transmission, costing $13,000. How is that possible? The car is only three years old! We've faced many recalls with this car, the last just this past August, but the most dangerous issue is the unexpected engagement of the parking brakes, causing chaotic behavior. Given the number of similar incidents, it's hard to believe there hasn't been a recall. We could have been injured or even killed if we had been driving over 40 mh and driving in heavy traffic, or worse, on the highway. Brakes Made loud squeaks noise when in reverse. Have taken into dealer multiple times and not fixed. They say an issue with Bronco Sports but my vin does not show on recall. Worried about brake failures or issues that could arise. They replaced front rotors and deglazed pads. Spent 462.19 and problem never fixed.

When I back out of driveway or any parking space, the brakes make a loud moaning noise along with what is almost a grinding noise. It does not matter the time of day, the temperature, or humidity. The car makes the noise every time it is used. This has been an ongoing issue since owning the car in 2021, and it has been to the dealership on three occasions to have the issue looked at. The brakes and brake pads look good and nothing else is visibly wrong. This has been an ongoing issue since shortly after purchase in 2021.

Since the purchase of the Bronco Sport in 2021, I have intermittently taken it in for required service. However, there have been times when I have had to take it in for hearing noise coming from when I make turns, and it sounded like my break pads were making the sound of wear. A recent report did address the break pad concern, and they were replaced. Intuitively something told me to check my fluid levels and the engine air filter, along with the cabin air filter. They both needed replacing, which I did on my own. The mechanic who put on my break asked me questions about the Bronco, I explained to him that I was having issues with take off, and have had to take it in for recalls since make the purchase. He asked me to open the hood. What he found was oil leaking around was oil leaking around my turbo. I was shocked. Because it had not been long since it was serviced. I was told to not drive it too far because there were reports of some Broncos catching on fire. When I would take it in to Town AND Country Ford, where it was purchased, they would tell me that they could not find anything wrong repeatedly, supposedly one of the recalls was fixed. Yet, I still hear the noise when I make turns. Another Ford dealership around the corner from where I live and I decided to take it there to see if I could get different results. No help. They have changed my oil I hope. Then there is Bates Ford in Lebanon, Tennessee. I have taken it there for oil change and informed them of issues. This is the last dealership who inspected the Bronco. They did not tell me about the oil leak. I drive 10 miles to work weekly. 100 miles every other month to visit elderly relatives. So, I have not put too much wear and tear on the Bronco and do not drive it hard. Please, If you are able to help in this area, it is much appreciated. I have 54,000 miles on it

The vehicle was traveling on a major highway when at a red light the car stopped and the auto start/stop engaged and the car turned off. After the car turned off I could not restart it. All power to the car was lost. No lights, radio, nothing. I attempted to put the car in neutral to move it off the highway, however the car is designed in a way it can not simply just be shifted into neutral. I grabbed the owners manual and read I needed to pull the manual park release cable located under the steering wheel. I pull the cable nothing. At this point I’ve called the local police department and they send out 2 officers. They attempt to shift the car into neutral as well, to no luck. I read the electronic parking break needs to be turned off but the car needs power to do this. My car has no power. A man comes with a jumper box and attempts to jump the car when it starts smoking. The battery has full voltage however it’s not transferring power to the car. I have to sit in the middle of a highway for 2 hours until a tow truck can tow my car. In those 2 hours I was at a significant risk of bodily and property damage and also risking harm to the other drivers on the road. Ford has no suggestion how to fix my specific problem. They’ve not taken into account a situation where there is no power to turn off the electronic parking break, to pull the cable and shift the car into neutral. The Ford service department had no idea how to replicate the situation to try and fix it. All I asked Ford for was a way to safely be able to remove my car from the middle of traffic the next time it happens. They have told me they can not help me. The Delaware city police department sent two officers who witnessed the event. Prior to the loss of power there was no warning. $1000 later I had a new starter put in and Ford did some recall work on it. However in my opinion the car is unsafe in the event power is lost again on the road.

When in reverse the rear breaks give off a loud squealing noise. This vehicle has been brought back to the dealership 4 times so far with no solutions we just are told that’s what these vehicles do. Completely unacceptable for ford or any repair shop to say basically it is what it is. There is obviously a defect somewhere within the breaking system/products that ford used. Breaks should not be squealing like that and we shouldn’t have to be responsible to pay for new rear brakes, rotors, pistons and calipers to “see” if that fixes the problem. There are numerous complaints about the same issue and ford doesn’t seem to care and they continue to put out subpar vehicles.

I was exiting a store parking lot when my vehicle died and I lost the steering, hazard lights, ability to put it in neutral. It wouldn’t start, but the radio and air conditioning still was on. When I attempted to start everything would blink.

Vacuum Booster Line Detached (Broke Off) from the Vacuum booster Unit. This happened when I was pulling out onto the road and noticed brake became stiff. Could not get vehicle to stop without forceful pressing of brake. Fortunately I was not in traffic but did have cars behind which had to slow to wait for me to pull over. I could have been rear ended. There was no warning or symptoms of this failure. Dealership had it towed and replaced the vacuum line.The service advisor said this was the first he's seen this in the line of Broncos. I have seen several of the same stories on Bronco Forums. This is a known problem. At barely 40K this should not happen and should be part of the Power Train. I had to pay nearly $450 for the diagnostic, part and repair as it is out of warranty

I was backing out of a parking lot of my employment on the early evening of 8.22.24. I heard the familiar whale moaing noise coming from the rear brakes ( has been in and out of the Ford Shop for to address this know issue; still no permanent solution), I immediately noticed when I went to touch the brake pedal it would not push down. The pedal was stiff and required me to heavily push down to get the vehicle to stop. I noticed a severe grinding noise. Fortunately I was able to turn my car back around and safely park it. I pushed the parking brake button and it was not on and then it would not go off. It finally did after several minutes. A friend who knows cars went back with me to look at what could possibly be wrong. He looked under the hood and found a broken vacuum line. I have pictures. I left the vehicle and went home to research. I found a 2021 Compliance Recall Notice 21C31/NHTSA Recall 21V922. I purchased this Bronco Sport used in the fall of 2022 and do not recall knowing of any recalls, including if this specific one was performed on my vehicle . This recall correlates to what happened to my vehicle. It looks like the vacuum booster failed, wore out and caused my automatic brakes to fail. There was no warning lights or indicators that anything was faulty up until the incident. The vehicle has had regular maintenance and has been in to Ford Service to address the most current recalls and TSB's issued since I've had possession. This shook me up . I am so lucky I was not driving at a high speed and in traffic. Things could have been a lot worse. I am deeply concerned about this vehicles safety profile. There seems to be a pattern with this make a model concerning various components including the brakes. I this point I need it fixed so I can look at trading it in for a reliable and safe alternative. On days when it rains or the weather is slightly cold/dewy, the Ford Bronco seems to make a screech/horn-like sound only when reversing. I found some online forum links (listed below) where other Ford users seem to describe the similar issue we're experiencing. This is the second dealership that we have taken the vehicle to be serviced for the issue, but they have both stated there is nothing they can do because the issue has not been issued as a recall. Unfortunately, I cannot provide an invoice at this time because the vehicle is still at the dealership (10 days after taking it in). I visited the dealership yesterday (08/12/2024) where I was informed that the the service technician working on my car is in the hospital. Had I not visited, then I probably would not have known this, and the other service technician I spoke to said they could not share any more details since they were not part of the servicing for my car. There has not been a specific accident or occurrence, but its an ongoing issue that can not get fixed. The dealerships don't have the parts, and can not get the parts. The rear breaks are horrible, yet one dealership is telling me it is unsafe to drive, yet no one can fix it. This is crazy, and comes down on Ford who seems to have a big problem with their vehicles, safety problems that they are not addressing. Whats the problem that they can not get this fixed or provide the parts? I'm stuck with this issue and don't know what to do.

As detailed by others on Ford forums, my vehicle experienced a total electronic failure after a 20 minute drive with minimal electronics on. After stopping and turning the vehicle off for 10 minutes, the vehicle would not start and the lights and electronic systems were flashing erratically. There were no warning signs to this and there was no chance that the battery had died. Jumping the car did not remedy the issue. This poses a significant inconvenience and potential safety hazard to consumers.

Vibrations are felt from the rear when releasing the brake. FORD has reviewed it on multiple occasions and indicates that this is the case. What system component failed or malfunctioned? Brakes Available for inspection upon request? Yeah How was your safety or the safety of others put at risk? I don't know Has the problem been reproduced or confirmed by an independent dealer or service center? They say it is normal although they once stayed with her indicating that they put the back in grease for 24 hours. Has the vehicle or component been inspected by the manufacturer, police, insurance representatives or others? Yes, by the manufacturer. Where I bought it new. Were there warning lights, messages or other symptoms of the problem before the failure and when did they first appear? No If you are unsure, simply indicate UNKNOWN and provide your best assessment of the incident and cause in your description.

I had driven for about 30 minutes, without turning the car off, I had just picked my fiancé up at the train and was slowing down for a stop sign. The car just stopped completely the lights flashed and powered down and I couldn’t do anything with the drive shift or even get the flashers on. Luckily we were coming to a stop anyway, but for majority of the time I was without flashers lights or anything and it was getting dark. We are in Virginia working and are usually traveling the interstate at the time but happened to do separate modes. I don’t know what could have happened had I been going 70 on the highway at night. I keep trying to start the car and was eventually able to put it in park but wasn’t able to get it into neutral or anything else. After multiple start attempts I am able to get the flashers on but as I keep trying to start it was turning the flashers off. I called for assistance through the ford app and they said it would be 2 hours before someone could come. We were able to get a jump and it came back on and when it did every single warning light was on for a moment and it went back to normal and our friend followed us over to the dealer to drop off. Before this while driving I had no errors and my app said my status was green. I had no notifications of issues from the ford app or my vehicle. Right as it was shutting down it did show a ac warning of some sort. Otherwise no errors. It is currently at a ford dealer and I am waiting to hear back with what they say.

Back brakes make a moaning sound when backing up. A TSB has been put out but parts are never available. I have been waiting on parts since October. This has been an issue since buying the car brand new in Aug 2021.

On February 5, 2024, the engine of a Bronco Sport shut off while driving and the dashboard lights began flashing with multiple warnings and notifications. The car would not restart and the gear shift was locked, preventing the driver from moving the vehicle out of the road during rush hour traffic. A tow truck was called, but after 30 minutes, the driver was able to restart the car and canceled the tow truck. The car was taken to the dealership on February 6, 2024, but the cause of the incident has not been diagnosed. On February 4, 2024, the driver attempted to start the engine, but the dashboard lights began flashing with multiple warnings and notifications and the engine would not start. The driver called a tow service, who jump-started the battery and informed the driver that the battery was not completely dead. The driver also discovered that the power steering had failed. The car was taken to the dealership on February 5, 2024, where it was diagnosed as a battery cable issue. The cable was replaced and the power steering was fixed. Dealership indicated that two repairs were unrelated. On December 8, 2023, the driver drove the car approximately 20 miles home, but upon exiting the car, the dashboard lights began flashing with multiple warnings and notifications and the engine would not start. The driver had to disconnect the battery cables to turn the car off completely. The driver called a tow service on December 9, 2023, who advised trying to jump-start the car. After charging the battery for 30 minutes, the car started and stopped without issue. On July 6, 2023, the customer noticed that the car was slow to start and received a warning on the dash indicating a "powertrain malfunction." The car was taken to the dealership on July 7, 2023, where it was diagnosed as having a faulty battery, which was replaced.

Touch screen and dash blackout while driving. They just go completely dark. Someone’s it restarts and comes back on but if it’s dark outside I can’t see how fast I’m going.

Like all the other complaints my 2021 Bronco Sport (Badlands) makes the worst LOUD noise when backing up and braking. It is not a little noise, it is a "wake up the neighbors" noise and it is hard not to flinch every time we get in the car and it sets the tone. Then we have to explain to everyone. That noise wouldn't happen if something wasn't very wrong with the car!!! I am shocked to see so many complaints and nothing is being done to protect drivers. This is not a cheap vehicle and I have owned Expeditions, an Edge, and F150's. Ford was a favorite until now. This happens every time not once in a while.

A loud moan is noted when the car is reversing. I have taken it to the dealer and was told they couldn’t find anything wrong with the vehicle. I have recorded the sound to show the dealer because I have another appointment for the same issue on October 30, 2023.

There is a known issue with 2021-2022 Ford Bronco Sports with the rear brakes. When in reverse, and the brakes are pressed, they make a loud moaning sound. The fix issued by Ford in 2022 states that any of this model produced prior to 9/23/22 are experiencing the noise. The recommended action is to replace the calipers and bushings. This has been done on my vehicle, but the moaning continues. I have been told by the dealership that I will just have to deal with it, but I do not feel safe in the vehicle. The car is making a noise it should not, and I do not know if this is causing harm to any other parts of my brake system or not. I do not want to endanger mine or anyone else's life and Ford has no resolution.

When reversing there is the absolute worst extremely loud embarrassing metallic screeching sound, considerable to a ships horn. Once you press brake fully and come to a complete stop the sounds ceases, let go of the brake it come right back. You can put it in drive and then back to reversing, same thing. Dealership was informed in 2022, said they fixed it. Spring/Summer of 2023 after complaining again was told part was ordered, could not be told what part. September 2023 was told no part was ordered, issue was fixed. October 2023 had a male take my bronco in for repairs and answers, parts are now reordered, parts are back ordered since this is a recall, no time frame on repair. When you check my vin for recalls, all recalls are closed. I am under the impression that my Dealership never has done recall work and only clearing them off as completed.

Brakes make very very loud noises when backing up car and i touch my brakes. It’s louder than my horn.

When backing up it sounds like a tug boat. Super annoying and embarrassing. Also when you are turning it seems like the wheels are shaking like a polaroid picture! When backing up the bronco makes a noise like a whale! There are many 2021 and 2022 bronco sports that are doing this. To date Ford has not addressed the problem.They have offered me a maintenance contract and say they will cover anything thing related to this issue. On Monday 7-24-2023 5:00pm rush hour in Downtown Gainesville Fl at a red light in the left lane about to turn left my car completely shutoff with no warning. It was if someone disconnected the battery completely from the car. No lights, No screen, No ignition. The traffic light turned green and I immediately pressed my foot on the brake and tried to start the engine. I noticed there were not lights, no sounds and no reaction from the engine. Windows would not go down either. I tried too put the hazards on to signal people and they had no power.The car was completely dead in the road. I jumped out of the drivers seat to warn people to go around me but traffic was whipping around me so I started to panic. I got back in the drivers seat to try and restart the car a few more times. I pressed the ignition and noticed the dash board and welcome screen flashing on and off repeatedly without success. I wanted to put the car in neutral. but the shiffter was stuck I drive and the emergency electric brake was engaged. After about 30 minutes the police came to direct traffic and he stayed with us for almost 2 hours while we waited for a tow truck. In the mean time we tried jumping the battery and for a split second the car lights on the inside all came on. Every light in the car lit up for a split second and then it totally died again. The wheels were locked so it had to be dragged onto a flat bed truck and taken to Parks Ford Gainesville. The next day I were told by [XXX] , a service technician at Parks Ford that he could not locate the issue but he called it a Catastrophic Fail and he had to call in a Master technician to look at my car and that would be the end of this week or beginning of next. I own a 2021 Bronco Sport. As of 04/21/23 at 13,951 my Bronco started experiencing a very loud squeak when put in reverse/braking. Was taken to Ford Dealer 4 times with them replacing caliper pins and bushings and greasing slides. Then additional rear cleanings…After all this I’m still left with same loud noise and it is NOT FIXED! I have been told by technicians that multiple customers are experiencing my same issue and that it is due to faulty brake pads that are NOT covered by warranty!!!???

I have a 2021 Bronco Sport Badlands with the 2.0. When taking the vehicle out after it has been sitting overnight or longer, as others have stated, the brakes are extremely sensitive and will groan/make a loud noise when even the slightest pressure is applied. I assumed until now that it has been condensation on the rotors, but seeing as the frequency it occurs has been everytime I get in the vehicle, I did some investigation and found out this is quite a common issue here. Issue with brakes - the vehicle has been at the dealership 4 times with no resolution to the noise coming from rear brakes and now the brakes seem to lock up at a stop and release suddenly creating a safety issue for my family and the motoring public. After the last attempt the noise is a lot worse then it was prior to the repairs recommended by Ford's TSB

this has happened twice to me. First time, I was driving around a roundabout - and the engine kicked off and there were a lot of alerts across the screen. I was safely able to coast off the road and onto the side where I sat for a little bit trying to restart it. After pushing the start button several times - it started back up and I was on my way. Most recently, last week - I was driving on the highway and the engine died and so many alerts were going across the screen. I couldn't pay much attention to the errors because a semi almost rammed my back end. I was on an incline on an off ramp and was trying to coast to the side as much as I could. It was too scary to monitor what was happening on the screen. I sat there trying to restart the Bronco and after several tries - it started back up and I was able to drive away. The Bronco is at the Dealership right now for them to look it over. No warning messages or anything - the engine shut down and then the alerts started. It appeared to be like every alert that could come up. There were so many. I also have the squealing and loud brakes. On back up .... they scream bloody murder. It is so embarrassing.

Our vehicle has multiple issues with it's brakes since we purchased the vehicle in December of 2021. Initially, when we would use our brakes while in reverse, the brakes would make a groaning sound (this started around January of 2022). We assumed it had something to do with the recall announced about the brakes of the vehicle and waited for parts to become available to get the brakes fixed. We finally got our brakes replaced once parts became available, but this did not fix the rear brake sound. The dealership replaced the rear brakes and the noise stopped. We brought the vehicle home and the front brakes began to squeal when using them while in drive. We called the dealership and let them know and they said to bring it back in. We brought the vehicle in, they replaced the front brakes and by the time we got home, the brakes were squealing again. We called the dealership, they had us bring the vehicle in again to inspect it, and confirmed they heard the squealing but they would not be performing a service until they confirmed with Ford if they should replace the rotors. Two weeks later, we get the call to bring back the vehicle to replace the rotors. We bring it in, get rotors replaced and brought the vehicle home. After 4 days, our vehicle began to make the same squeal sound on our brakes while in drive, and make some sort of groaning sound when we came to a complete stop. Ford employees seem to not be able to fix this issue and seem frustrated with us that we keep calling and asking for help.

The vehicle seems to have long stopping distances and I experienced shaking at highway speed. Also, when I back up, there is a very loud moaning noise, like a ‘ship horn’. This noise occurred several times from when I first bought the new vehicle and each time I took it to the dealer, they said they couldn’t duplicate the problem. That was over 4 times now that the dealer denied there was a problem. I then made a video of the noise to prove it to the dealer. They agreed there was a TSB for caliper pins and bushings, so they did that work. Before I left the dealer service department, the problem happened again to the Service Advisor, so they have the car now waiting for Ford to investigate. Online Ford Bronco forums also show a defect in the ‘coefficient of friction’ for the brake pads, but both Ford and the dealer currently are saying that’s a wear item and they won’t fix it under the warranty (my car has 30k mikes now but this problem occurred first when I only had the car for a few months). As part of the TSB service on 12/15/2022, they said my front original brake pads are like new but the back ones are due to be replaced. They acknowledged that the rear pads usually last twice as long as the front, but my vehicle is opposite that. I think they should put new brakes and new rotors on the vehicle under warranty, especially in back since those rear pads only should not be worn out at 30k miles while the front are like new. Clearly, there is a problem with the rear brakes (primarily,) but maybe in the overall balance of the braking system, resulting in premature wear of the back pads, longer stopping distances, and that awful noise when I back up.

Every morning or when it’s raining out the breaks make a horrible loud grinding noise on when hitting the breaks as you back up. My concern is that these breaks are oxidizing super quickly as this started happening only after a few months of owning my new car. I have had many cars and mostly used cars and never have I heard this horrible noise when breaking while backing up. I feel like these are going to degrade severely quickly.

Some Ford Bronco Sport and Escape SUVs, which share a brake system, are being recalled now because NHTSA has determined that they may not stop in a short enough distance in some circumstances. A total of 114,996 vehicles, mostly 2021 models with a few 2022s, will be recalled starting in early January. Yes dealer has car and told be it need booster. This was bought less than a month . I dont think it was look at with ford gold certified. Found out it was in shop late july august by previse buyer. They coverd it up never gave me sheet what was look at.

Vehicle brought in for Brake Recall at 11k miles. After service completed, vehicle has a loud screech when vehicle is in reverse or in a tight turn radius. No warning lamps or symptoms before this issue occurred. Vehicle is being brought back to dealership for further inspection.

The vehicle is being towed to a dealership as the vehicle had less than 12,400 miles and has been owned less than one year. Any/all components available for inspection. If driver had not had wherewithal to exit highway when they did, there certainly could have been a fatality incident.

When coming to a stop and pressing on the breaks it periodically will make s sound and then there is about a 2O SEC DELAY before coming to complete stop. If I am driving downhill the delay is longer. This scares my since I drive over 100 miles a day for work. I have reached out to FORD and the manufacture and they still do not have a fix to the issue.

I have a brake recall related to a safety defect. The car does not stop quick enough at highways speeds, however ford has not offered a remedy in a timely manner. I have been to 4 different Ford dealerships with no success. All four have informed me it would take a week to get the part, to later change the answer and say its unavailable on backorder. I can't get my brakes repaired. Additionally, the back door does not lock under any circumstances. The car is unsafe and unsecure from the inside and out.

I had two recalls which one of them was my breaks. I went about 3 months ago and they told me they didn't have the part and they would place the order and I would get a call as soon as it arrived. I waited and a new recall came in saying there was a leak in the engine oil and it could cause a fire on my car. I called Ford after I made an appointment online, when I spoke to the lady she said she had no idea and all she could do was made me an appointment. I decided to drive myself in person to this dealer Big Valley Ford and let them know what was happening since my app and my car both said I had I HAS 0% OIL LIFE and i needed oil changed ASAP. according to my sticker on the window from the previous oil changed it said I had over 1000 miles before oil change, yet my car and app were telling me i had 0% oil life. When i went to them specially after knowing there was a recall for oil leak they took my car and said they would inspected, they called me again and said there was nothing wrong with it and to ignored it, I never got a paper or anything with such information. I asked about the other recall and if my parts were finally in and the guy said there is no record or order for that. He sent me to speak to someone else and when I did they lied to me saying my car parts had been order. When I left a lady call me saying she needed pictures of my car to be able to order them and I told her someone had already said they were order that morning and she said no orders were never place. I drive back to them again and I live 20 minutes away, If i didn't show up in person again they would had never had made the order I had been waiting for over 3 months. As of today I do not longer feel safe with this car and I don't want it, yet I dont know what to do to solve this I need help please!!

Purchased 2021 Ford Bronco Sport in 9/21 and was made aware of safety recall from Ford in 12/21 stating problem with front brakes to be repaired 2nd quarter of 2022. Took vehicle to dealership 4/22 and replaced front pads only. Took vehicle back 2 weeks later due to grinding noise coming from brakes and reduced braking distance. When the vehicle was inspected told nothing is wrong when clearly the vehicle is not safe.

EVERY morning when reversing out of my driveway my brakes make a very loud noise. It's been going on for several months and is only getting worse. I've taken it up to the dealership and they cannot find the problem.

Both interior liftgate lights inoperative. However, the "liftgate ajar light", and came on without warning as I was driving. I had not opened the litigate. Vehicle has a recall and manufacturer is not able to fix this. When asked about the timelines within which it can be fixed, ford mentioned that it would be more than 6 months. More than 6 months is not a reasonable time when there is a risk of crash. I wanted ford to either replace the vehicle or provide a rental car. They are not able to do that either. So I have to either take risk and continue driving the vehicle which might result in a crash or not use the vehicle for more than 6 months. Neither of those seem reasonable. Need ford to provide a solution to the problem instead of simply neglecting the request.
