Brake booster failed. Lost brake assist while driving. Car became unsafe to drive immediately.
Along with the current unable to be fixed PCM recall, the customer service satisfaction program regarding the drivers side buckle replacement and the replacement of high-pressure fuel injectors that I was told they will only replace if there is an issue because it is not considered a recall. I have had multiple other recalls that were done and several issues that weren't related to recalls. In the first year the bushings were replaced to ease the loud noise when backing up. At 36,0000 miles I had no heat. The water pump failed and was fixed under powertrain warranty. At 41000 miles (just over warranty) the AC stopped working. The condenser failed and was my responsibility to pay. Ford did work out a deal with me on that repair due to all of the other issues I had previously. Currently, my drivers side back seatbelt does not work, the car shudders when driving and recently my forward collision indicator goes off for no reason. I have not reached out to have these items checked yet as I have spent far to much time dealing with Ford. I bought this car to feel safe and confident on the road and I have never felt that. The lack of compassion from Ford for all the money wasted in missed work and repairs because they cannot produce a quality vehicle is abhorrent.
I have had multiple issues with my 2022 Ford Bronco Sport in the past 3 years and there have been multiple recalls. The ac failed at the 2 year mark and the rear brakes also started to make an odd noise intermittently when I would have the vehicle in reverse. I reported it and asked Ted Britt Ford in Fairfax, VA to check it twice (this is the dealership I purchased the vehicle from - I had them check it on 7/3/24 and 9/28/24 and have service records confirming) and they said they could find nothing wrong and there was no recall for it and there was nothing they could do (keeping in mind my vehicle was under warranty at that time). Fast forward to today, I go in for an oil change and mention the rear brakes are making noise again and ask if they can check it for me. They told me there is now a remedy for the issue, acknowledging there wasn't in the past. I mentioned at the time that I had reported and asked about it twice and why should I now have to pay for that when clearly this is a defect that should have been addressed by Ford when I initially reported it (keeping in mind that my vehicle is now out of warranty). Then they tell me I need to replace the front brake pads and brake fluid for a cost of over 1k and rear rotors and brake pads for 1200, but admitted the rear brake pads are not that bad and can wait. I do not ride my brakes and have no history of that in any vehicle I've ever owned, so I did some research and learn that this is an issue with the 2022 Ford Bronco Sport which seems to have MANY issues. Ford is not acknowledging any of the issues that this specific year/make/model has. I clearly alerted them to an issue a year ago and they claimed to have no solution but now they magically do once it's out of warranty? Clearly having defective brakes is a safety issue, not to mention the fuel injector issue that is under recall - apparently Ford doesn't have the part for that either. Please issue a recall for the defective brake pads and rotors.
Break stated feeling a thumping while driving, not breaking, ABS sensor came on dashboard. Car stated giving me a collision warning, pre-collision not available, hill assistant warning, Blind spot detection with cross traffic, and service advance tracking. ABS sensor is faulty. My car is stuck on slippery mode, it’s hard to turn, electrical system is faulty. Goats is not working, I can’t turn options on or off. And it became hard to steer. I had the battery recall done. Left from dealer and they assured me that this will fix the issue. It came all back about 30 seconds after I left the dealership.
Vehicle locked up while driving. Has a new battery already. Full aux electrical function is fine but after shut down while driving will not restart, shift out of gear, roll or steer. All electrical works fine. To tow onto flat bed, had to drag the tires.
Many Bronco Sports have had this loud roaring in the rear and Ford had several patches to this issue, but none fixed the issue. Ford instructed the dealership to not attempt any more remedies to this repair until Ford had a "fix". After calling the dealership for months about the "fix" Ford was suppose have before the 4th quarter of 2024, but did not, now does not want to repair these vehicles under the warranty when the issue started and was bought to their attention. They have since stated that the repair is to replace the rear rotors and brakes as they had bearings that were coming apart causing this noise, but does not want to honor this repair. The dealership was well aware of the issue and could only advise me and others to please be patient until Ford approved a remedy for this issue, which me and many others did. We just want this to be a recall so that it can be covered as this could have caused serious issues had this part come apart upon driving or locking up and cause an accident.
The contact owns a 2022 Ford Bronco Sport. The contact stated that while her husband was driving 35 MPH, the vehicle stalled. The contact stated that there was an abnormal grinding sound coming from the vehicle while reversing. The contact stated that several unknown warning lights were illuminated after the failure. The vehicle was towed to the local dealer where it was diagnosed and determined that the failure was due to the electrical system, and that the rear brakes and rotors needed to be replaced. The vehicle was not repaired. The manufacturer was contacted. The failure mileage was approximately 23,000.

While parking in a parking lot of a local store I pulled into a spot and stopped about 2 feet from a bumper post. I removed my foot from the brake pedal to pull closer to the post. The car began to idle forward. When I was as close to the post as I intended I stepped on the brake. The car continued to idle forward until I hit the post causing very minor damage to the hood of my car. After hitting the post I was stopped. I put the car in reverse and took my foot off the brake. The vehicle did not moved so i touched the gas intending to back up a foot or so. The car picked up speed. I braked, but the car continued to pick up speed. I pressed harder on the brake, feeling as though I was standing on it. The car did not stop nor slow down. While feeling as though I was standing on the brake the car sped up I would estimate to 5-7 mph. I traveled straight back across the drive lane and continued to back into the parking spot behind me and hit the bumper in that parking causing damage to my lift gate and miscellaneous electrical components and the rear bumper. I have a repair estimate for $3400.00. I reported to the store personnel, the local police, and was examined by emergency medical. It was determined there was no damage to store property and medical personnel found my blood pressure was mildly elevated and the I felt slightly disoriented, but otherwise tested normal. I can only surmise that this was a temporary software malfunction. Braking has returned to normal. I talked to a ford dealer's Rep and he did not know what could have caused it. He also advised I could have diagnostics started for $278.00. I could not afford it at that time. Please note that the police officer said i could pick up the police report, but i have not done so. Since I bought this car the brakes have been making loud noises when going in reverse. Bought in 2022 and noticed immediatly - Daytona Ford made modification to brakes on a brand new car - and to date still hearing the same noise. I have had it in multiple times and have asked to have someone listen to the brakes and stated they cannot replicate. It's so loud now that it's embarrassing to drive and only has 26k miles. It makes a moaning noise like a dying whale or something. I have an appointment on Monday with Ford in Durham - so lets see what they say about the constant loud and ongoing noises with the rear brakes.
On or around 17 May 2024, spouse was driving child to daycare. Residential speed limit was 35 mph, when dashboard alerts "Power terrain, Hill Assist, Backup Camera, Front Camera, 911 Service, Please Service Now, Shift System Fault, Parking Brake INOP" illuminated and parking brake was applied by vehicle without owner input. Upon pulling into parking lot and turning off vehicle and restarting, vehicle cleared all faults and indications. Scheduled service immediately, service center implemented recalls 22S73, 24S24, and replaced faulty gateway module and reprogrammed software, additionally test drove vehicle 5 miles without duplication of discrepancy. Upon return of vehicle, on approximately 3 June, driver alerts and parking brake self-applied and would not start. Arranged tow truck to pick up vehicle, driver tried to drive vehicle onto platform, but after starting vehicle flashed warnings across dashboard and applied parking brake without input. Service center could not duplicate problem and offered no further troubleshooting or guarantees on work. Reached out to corporate to escalate issue but was unable to reach satisfactory resolution.
Vehicle makes load screeching and moaning sounds whenever the car is in reverse -noticed the day after purchase. Was told in June “parts are on back order”. - still no fix
Only in reverse, the brakes make a foghorn noise. I’m aware that other 2022 bronco sports were covered under a recall for this exact issue, but mine has not. I’m concerned about the safety and stoppage time for my car. This is not a normal squeal or grinding of worn brake pads.
The contact owns a 2022 Ford Bronco Sport. The contact stated that while driving in reverse a grinding noise was present when pressing the brake pedal. Also, while operating the vehicle a burning odor was present inside the cabin of the vehicle which caused the contact to experience light headiness and nausea. No medical treatment was required. The vehicle was taken to the local dealer who was unable to determine the cause of the failures. Later, after starting the vehicle the engine stalled and the vehicle would not restart. The cause of the failures was not yet determined. The manufacturer was notified of the failure but no assistance was offered. The failure mileage was 25,000.

The contact owns a 2022 Ford Bronco. The contact stated while the contact's wife was driving at an undisclosed speed, the brake pedal was depressed, and the contact's wife noticed an abnormal noise. In addition, the contact stated that when the vehicle was parked, the contact noticed brake residue on all four tires and rims. The vehicle was not diagnosed or repaired by an independent mechanic or the dealer. The contact stated that the vehicle was scheduled for diagnostic testing within the next couple of days. The manufacturer was made aware of the failure and a case was filed. The contact was advised to contact the NHTSA Hotline and report the failure. The failure mileage was approximately 13,000.

This is the 3rd time this vehicle has been in for service in less than three months. The initial two visits were for a differential issue that was not completely resolved. Also, the brakes seem to have unusual wear for the mileage of the vehicle. The current visit is happening as of today and the issues are being diagnosed and appear to be potentially possibly an electrical issue. There is also a very loud squealing sound when I back up and have been told by both the dealership and Ford that it is known but there is not yet a fix. I am on the phone with Ford letting them know I do not feel safe in the vehicle and they advised to file a report here.
Vehicle makes load screeching and moaning sounds whenever the car is in reverse -noticed the day after purchase 9/12/2024 and continues to do so- ford states it is a known recall that they have yet to have fix for?
The contact owns a 2022 Ford Bronco Sport. The contact stated that while depressing the brake pedal to slow for traffic or for a traffic signal, there was an abnormal high-pitched sound coming from the brakes and the vehicle was vibrating. The contact stated no warning light was illuminated. The contact stated that additionally, while driving up a grade in the road, at approximately 35 MPH, the vehicle lost motive power. The contact depressed the accelerator pedal and the vehicle failed to respond as needed. The contact stated that the engine was not revving while depressing the accelerator pedal. The contact had taken the vehicle to a local dealer, where it was diagnosed and determined that the rear brake rotors needed to be turned. The vehicle was repaired. The contact stated that the failures reoccurred. The manufacturer was not informed of the failure. The failure mileage was approximately 4,600.

The rear brakes seem to drag and make a loud noise when in reverse. We have taken the car that is sill under Ford warranty to Hertrich Ford dealership in Elkton Maryland. They attempted a “modification” and informed us that Ford Engineers have not come up with a fix yet as many Ford Broncos and Ford Escapes are experiencing the same problem. We asked for the Ford Field Service Engineer for our geographical area to look at the car but no response to our request to date. We asked to speak with Tommy Allen foreman of service at Heirtrich Ford and no response as to date. The dragging sensation and loud noise when the car is in reverse is worse since Heirtrich Ford made the modification to the vehicle. Brakes do not feel right when car is in reverse.
Brakes squeal when backing up.
Shocks defective. Shocks to be replaced twice on this vehicle with under 50,000 miles. First replaced at about 20,000 miles. Dealership advised that original shocks and now new replacement shocks leak on inspection. Clearly a defective part. Ford knows about this problem. Ford has put out a “service message for technicians” but why isn’t there a recall? Second issue is brake issue. Ford has also issued a “service message for technicians” on this issue. They are aware of the issue and customers are waiting 3 months or more for a “bushing and hardware kit” for repair. Issue is detected by loud squealing when the car is backing up in reverse. Why isn’t this a recall? The dealership is charging for these items that Ford is aware of as problems with their vehicle.
Brakes are sticky. They will stick after coming to a stop, causing the vehicle to jump forward. Also, make an incredibly loud noise after sitting still for a few hours, and moving. The calipers seem to lock up. This is not a one time incident, it’s all the time!
The brakes make a squilling noise when backing up took to Aunto Nation Ford Marietta for several repairs was done still making loud noise driving through traffic. The vehicle was inspected by ford FSA inspection the brakes system still have a defect and loud noise.
The brakes have been a problem since I purchased the vehicle new a little over a year ago. They make a loud noise after sitting for too long, plus the calipers seem to "stick". There is a hesitation when I put the vehicle into R or D and have to put my foot on the gas in order for it to "lurch" into movement. I have mentioned this to my dealer service and we informed by them that this is just the way the brakes are on these particular vehicles. If that is indeed the case, then Ford has installed sub-par brakes on all the Bronco Sports.
The brakes are constantly making a horrible noise in reverse. I’ve been to two dealerships to try and have this fixed. I’ve also call ford motor co multiple times and just get run around. The dealership can’t figure out what’s causing it it’s been in at least 10times and still no fix it’s a safety issue and I refuse to transport my grandbabies in it. The dealership will call ford and ford has no idea either how to fix it I’ve asked for a refund and was denied. I am an unhappy ford owner and I can’t get ford to help me
When backing up make loud noise Braking
My truck with dead at a turning light, it's still UNKNOWN what happened. I had 2 people try to give it a boost and it would not turn on, the gears were locked, and it had to be pulled on the tow truck. The brake lights signal was flashing, and the engine light was on the dashboard along with the battery light. I could not get it to turn on and there was no sound to the engine. the radio was working and none of the lights went dim.
Vehicle has 14,600 miles on it. After a regular service for an oil change i requested that the Technician look at the brakes due to abnormal noise coming from them. Technician confirmed that the front brake pad are warn down and need to be replaced and that the rotors as well have been worn down and are in need of needing replacement. With the low amount of miles on the car the brake pads and rotors should not need replacing till at least ( my opinion) for a minimum of 30,000 miles. I have contacted for about this issue and they are not willing to replace them although everyone i have spoken to agree that this is an abnormal amount of wear for a car with such low miles and that there is an issue here that is a major safety issue
Rear brakes moan when reversing at low speed. Has done this since day one. Also the transmission shifts are hard and hangs in sport mode and won’t shift. It hangs at almost 5k rpms and when I let off the gas no shift till 2300 rpms. Took it in and they looked at the transmission fluid said it was darker than usual for the mileage (14,000) and recommended a fluid flush that’s not covered by warranty. They changed fluid and I ask why it was doing this they said “ well that’s why we changed the fluid” which tells me nothing! Now the engine compartment rattle in gear and the transmission temperature after driving only 5 miles is hot enough to fry an egg on so my guess is it runs too hot and is burning or oxidation why else would it be black?
After first start of the day when in reverse the rear brakes make a foghorn-like noise everyday. This is a known issue as it’s all over the internet. Dealer says it’s not a warranty issue. Could be a safety problem if left unrepaired.
The contact owns a 2022 Ford Bronco Sport. The contact stated while reversing there was a squealing and grinding sound coming from the rear of the vehicle. The vehicle was taken to the local dealer who was unable to determine to cause of the squealing sound. The vehicle was not repaired. The manufacturer was notified of the failure. The failure mileage was 10,000.

After sitting overnight, in reverse gear/backing out, you hear grinding noise from the rear brakes. It sounds as if the rear caliper(s) are binding on the rotors(s). Ford dealers said it”s normal, no It’s not! Going forward the noise stops.
The vehicle's brakes consistently make a loud noise when in reverse. Dealer saw no issue.
The contact owns a 2022 Ford Bronco Sport. The contact stated that while reversing the vehicle, there was an abnormal loud squeaking sound coming from the rear end of the vehicle. The vehicle was taken to the local dealer. The vehicle was not diagnosed nor repaired. The manufacturer was contacted and informed of an unknown TSB related to the failure. The failure mileage was 4,600.

Brakes keeps getting harder to stop , more pressure is needed to stop. Must press pedal really hard.
The manual park release cable has a defect to it and needs to be replaced. I the defective part causes there to be a rattle at low speeds. Some 2021 bronco sports had a recall previously issued for this part but 2022s, even though they were built with the same part, have not formally been included in the recall yet.
I have taken my 2022 Ford bronco sport into 2 different dealers to check the brakes. They make a loud squealing noise when in reverse. They both dealers said it was dirt in the brakes. They said it was normal. It still it makes the noise in reverse.
I have had this vehicle approximately 6 months, in that time I have noticed that not only is there a lot of brake dust and the brakes make a loud noise when reversing. The sound is like metal rubbing together and I have only noticed it when backing up. I've taken it to the dealership twice, both times I was told it's the new braking system Ford has and it's "normal".
The manual park release cable is defective and was a recalled issue on the 2021s (SSM 50274). I am experiencing the same rattle noise on my 2022 and have contacted ford multiple times about the issue and the most they are willing to help with at this point is cover 50% of the costs of fixing it. They state that there is no recall on 2022s and only on 2021s. This is a safety issue on a car with less than 1500 miles and has had this issue since around the 400 mile mark. I used a bronco sport forum to find a contact from someone within Ford who looked up my vin and told me my bronco sport has the same part that has been found to be defective on 2021s — my car was built in November 2021 and soon after ford changed the part number that they are putting in the car so that they aren’t using a defective part. I have also found on forums that there are many people experiencing this issue and are similarly being told that there is no recall on 2022s so we are basically out of luck.
Brakes make a grinding sound at low speed. When in reverse, brakes make a humming sound. This was the same issue that caused a recall of previous models, however my vehicle is not covered by the recall. Took the vehicle to the dealer and they said “we know there is a noise but the brakes are working properly.” The noise is not normal.
Engine makes intermittent metal crunching and scraping sounds at low speeds and when braking in stop an go traffic. And sometimes the sound would be heard the all the time when keeping the car between 25 to 30 mph.
