I have a 2021 ford bronco and the rear shock absorbers are both bad on my car it is dangerous to drive I have taken it to 2 different ford dealerships one in Morgantown wv and one in fairmont wv and was told there was nothing they could do about it. Then I contacted ford motor company and spoke to someone and was told there was nothing they could do and the vehicle was safe to drive although it states in the recall it increases risk of crash. I was told to file a complaint and on top of all that they won’t give me an inspection sticker. When you hit a pothole bump or any other obstruction is throws the rear end of the car out from under you and is terrifying. Now there is a recall on the fuel pump I havnt exactly experienced this personally that I’m aware of. Thirdly I was in an accident just last month I rear ended someone on the interstate going about 65 and the air bags did not deploy. In summary it’s absurd that ford is allowing people to make payments on vehicles with their hard earned money they one are unsafe and two have nothing but issues and are unwilling to do anything about it.

In fact, a Legacy Ford rep told my husband to “go to the junkyard” for replacement shocks. I called Ford’s Executive Customer Service to escalate the situation. I was told the campaign was still considered an “Advanced Recall” (despite its official status) and that they could not override the dealership’s refusal to provide assistance. This created a deeply unsafe situation—my husband and I experienced two near-accidents due to rear suspension instability, while our toddler was in the vehicle. After waiting weeks with no resolution and no loaner, my husband had to repair the issue himself just to make the car drivable. We received no reimbursement or follow-up, and today, three of the four recalls remain open with no solution available. I am requesting a formal review of Legacy Ford’s actions, communication, and refusal to assist with a documented safety issue. I would also like to be contacted by someone at Ford with the authority to resolve this matter appropriately.

Both rear shocks disassembled. The external reservoir to the factory 2021 Badlands bilstein shocks fell off at or around 36,000 miles. I did not hit a particular pothole, drive off road, it’s used for town/highway driving only, yet both external reservoir cylinders fell off at some point. These are solid cylinders that could cause damage to other vehicles. Now, my vehicle has an unsafe suspension ride, bouncy and kicks, and I’m scheduled for out of pocket repair.

These are solid cylinders that could cause damage to other vehicles. Now, my vehicle has an unsafe suspension ride, bouncy and kicks, and I’m scheduled for out of pocket repair.

The stock bilstein shocks lost the reservoir for hydraulic fluids causing shock absorber to fail while driving. the canister simply fell off. I didn't hit anything other than normal bumps in the road. The vehicle has never been in an accident or offroad to cause the canister to fall off. Many other owners have complained on different blog sites about this same issue. This causes the vehicle to bounce uncontrollably since the shocks are rendered useless without the hydraulic canister/reservoir. Bouncing down the highway is super dangerous, and Ford didn't really seem to be worried that this is happening when I called the 800 Ford Assistance number two different times. I think a recall of these shock absorbers is required. I ended up having to pay for brand new shocks after 36,600 miles and Ford told me I had to use OEM (same bad designed shocks) to maintain my extended warranty.
