The contact owns a 2023 Ford Bronco. The contact stated while attempting to start the vehicle, there were several unknown warning lights illuminated. The contact exited the vehicle, raised the hood of the vehicle and became aware that rodents had chewed through the electrical wiring. The vehicle was not taken to the dealer or an independent mechanic to be inspected. The vehicle was not repaired. The manufacturer was notified not of the failure. The approximate failure mileage was 13,000.

Concerns a safety-related defect involving the infotainment system in my 2022 Bronco, which is directly related to an active recall and has not been properly addressed by the manufacturer or dealership. Ford issued a recall concerning the infotainment system due to a safety concern. For over a quarter, Ford had no available fix. The entire time I had my Bronco, my infotainment system repeatedly malfunctioned, required frequent resets, & ultimately failed completely. When I contacted the dealership 10/23/25, the earliest service appt was 12/17/25. Upon arrival, I was informed that the infotainment system would need to be repaired before the recall software update could be applied. I explained that the failure itself was the reason for the recall. Despite this, I was required to pay a $196 diagnostic fee to determine if the failure was recall-related. After the eval, the dealership stated the failure was not Ford’s responsibility & provided an estimate of approximately $1,672.61 w/o tax to repair the system on a '22 vehicle. This determination contradicts the stated safety basis of the recall. I contacted my insurance provider to explore coverage. The claim was denied, w/the insurer stating the issue was not caused by an accident or break-in, but was consistent w/a vehicle defect. Despite this, I was still charged the diagnostic fee. Research indicates the recall involves an electrical defect, not only a software issue. A non-functioning infotainment system impacts access to safety alerts & vehicle information, which presents a legitimate safety risk. Ford & the dealership refused to repair the system under the recall, refund the diagnostic fee, or acknowledge the failure as recall-related. I'm continuing to operate a vehicle w/a known safety defect. I'm requesting NHTSA review if recall remedies are being improperly limited, if consumers are being charged for recall-related defects , and if manufacturer &dealership practices comply w/ fed safety requirements.
I purchased this vehicle in May this year and in July the manufacturer issued a safety recall notice. The manufacturer mentions in the recall that the engine may fail and can lead to crashes. I am unbale to use the vehicle for business, since I received the notice and it is causing me a lot to the verge of collapsing my business. I would like the manufacturer to look into this and issue a remedy as quickly as possible as the financial strain on my business is enormous. Thank you!
The contact owns a 2022 Ford Bronco. The contact stated that while shifted into reverse(R), and occasionally while driving on several occasions at various speeds, the cross-traffic alert icon illuminated, and the message "Cross Traffic Alert Function Not Available" was displayed. The vehicle was not diagnosed or repaired. The contact believed that the failures were associated with an unknown recall. The manufacturer was notified of the failure. The failure mileage was approximately 34,000.

Main instrument cluster panel goes completely black. Not able to see what gear vehicle is in, gas miles till empty. Digital speedometer is gone. If a safety warning pops up you cant see it. Started about a month ago and took it in for repair. Ford said it was a module and it was fixed for 2 weeks but it is now doing it again. Dealer is aware of the issue and apparently is happening in other Ford Broncos according to the main Bronco forum.
I am on my 3rd Fuel Pump, it is currently at the Ford Dealership. My wife was accelerating through an intersection, making a left turn, when the engine shuddered, stalled and quite running. Luckily her momentum was able to get her through the intersection and avoid oncoming traffic. The Dealer has installed the 3rd faulty pump with the previous pump only lasting 3 months. Upon research this is a widespread manufacturing issues with the 2.7 ecoboost. I firmly believe this engine/fuel pump should be recalled due to the frequent malfunctions.
On 03/31/25 at approx. 12:45 AM our 2022 Ford Wild Trak was engulfed in fire while parked on our driveway. There were no occupants, and it had last been operated on 3/30/25 at approximately 1030 PM. During its last operation there was nothing abnormal to indicate the potential of a engine fire (no warning lights, messages, unusual smell or odors, performance issues, smoke, or fire). Upon observing the Ford Bronco Wild Trak for the first time the engine compartment was fully engulfed, and it was clear the fire had started in the engine compartment. The flames from the Ford Bronco Wild Trak eventually spread to a second vehicle destroying it down to the frame and causing enough damage to a third vehicle rendering it a total loss. All three vehicles were within 4 feet of our residence and the flames were hot enough it melted the garage door window frames. The Ford Bronco Wild Trak is frequently parked in our garage, and it been we would have lost our home and the lives of all four family member would have been put at risk. Researching Ford Bronco Wild Trak engine fires, we discovered that Ford Bronco Sports and Ford Escapes both have recalls due to faulty fuel injectors resulting in engine fires. The fuel injectors in Ford Bronco Wild Trak’s are similar to the fuel injectors in both the Ford Bronco Sports and Escapes. Due to the similarity between the Ford Bronco Sports and Escapes with the Wild Trak fuel Injectors we are asking for the NTSBA to initiate an investigation into Ford Bronco Wild Trak engine fires. The Ford Bronco Wild Trak can be retained for inspection if requested quickly as it is scheduled to be picked up by our insurance company and then disposed.
The contact owns a 2022 Ford Bronco. The contact stated that while driving at undisclosed speeds, the “Powertrain Malfunction - Reduced Power Fault” message was displayed and flickered on and off. The contact that the battery was losing the charge. The contact stated that the battery was at 70% charge. The contact related the failure to NHTSA Campaign Number: 24V683000 (Power Train, Electrical System). The vehicle was taken to the local dealer, where it was diagnosed and determined that the battery needed to be replaced. The vehicle was repaired. The manufacturer was contacted and referred the contact to the NHTSA Hotline. The failure mileage was approximately 36,000.

I pulled up to a parking spot and when I tried to brake to place my car into park my brakes would not engage and my vehicle kept moving forward. I had to slam my car into park to prevent from slamming into a barrier. My rear camera goes in and out of a blank screen when “backing up” or reversing.
The vehicle’s back-up camera completely malfunctions about 20% - 30% of the time making it completely impossible to see anything behind the vehicle when backing up. Sometimes, when the vehicle is put into reverse, the display screen will be completely dark, other times the image freezes on a load up image or screen and there is no display of what is behind the vehicle, and worst of all, other times the display will lock on the first image from the rear facing camera and not show real-time video of what is behind the vehicle, making the driver think it is safe to back up when it may not be. The vehicle has been brought to two different Ford dealerships three different times over the last two years regarding this problem. The first time I was told the problem had been addressed. The problem continued to occur. The second time, I was told the issue could not be addressed at that time. I was told that Ford Corp was aware of the problem but they did not have a fix available at that time. I was told that Ford Corp was working on software enhancements that would be available sometime in the future that would address the issue. The problem continued to occur. The third time I was advised the problem could not be addressed at that time and “Ford is working on additional software enhancements which are expected to be delivered over-the-air (OTA) by late Q4 2024” and “Software will update automatically if vehicle connectivity is enabled in the vehicle’s settings.” The problem continues to occur, so much so that I have several recorded videos of the problem occurring.
On [XXX] I was driving the vehicle during heavy rain. I commute 47 miles each way to work, when nearing my work location the car started to sputter like it was out of fuel and slowed to a crawl, applying pressure to the gas pedal had no impact - acted like it was getting no fuel, was able to pull vehicle over to side of the road. Vehicle would turn over but would not start - Check Engine light came on - codes displayed on code reader indicated that the high pressure fuel sensor and the low pressure fuel sensor were having issues. I had the vehicle towed to the closest Ford Dealer and they ended up replacing the fuel sensors and fuel pump. Thought that it was a faulty fuel pump. The Mileage I believe was 59516. On Wednesday [XXX] I was again driving this vehicle to work in a rain storm and at almost the exact same distance from home on the exact route the vehicle exhibited the exact same symptoms and the vehicle abruptly stopped running after shuttering to a stop with no fuel. In both cases the vehicle had a nearly full tank of fuel. The vehicle has been taken back to the Ford Dealership for repair. It appears that there is an issue when driving for extended periods on very wet roads water is entering the fuel systems electrical components and causing the system to fail causing a very unsafe driving condition. On December 11th the area had received 3.23 inches of rain in a 3 day period with the heaviest falling on the morning of December 11th. December was when Hurricane Helene passed to the west of our location in South Carolina dropping several inches of rain. Have made short trips in light rain with no issues, only in heavy rain and long distance. INFORMATION REDACTED PURSUANT TO THE FREEDOM OF INFORMATION ACT (FOIA), 5 U.S.C. 552(B)(6)
The headlight/taillights control dial switches modes and settings when entering and existing vehicle, the dial for the auto lights it will change and turn off the lights so that while you drive at night the daytime driving lights come on but there will be no rear tail lights. Creating a very dangerous driving at night with no tail lights . I have not taken it in to the dealer as it is intermittent problem and hard to recreate on demand at the dealership. The only remedy is to check the settings dial several times while driving to confirm that the headlights settings have stayed to a lights on condition.
2022 Ford Bronco Outer Banks "Steering Assist Fault Service Required" warning appears on instrument display panel intermittently. When the warning appears power steering does not work.
After reversing and driving away, the vehicle continued to display the rear camera and 360 view .Vehicle had to be shifted to park, stopped, then restarted in order to clear the display.
I had a light pop up that said “charging system service soon” so we took the vehicle in for service. Once the dealership got back to us, each of the ports on the wiring harness are corroded. The vehicle is barely over 36,000 miles and I’m already being advised to change out the entire wiring harness so there almost has to be some fault in the coverage of this equipment
Not exactly sure how it started to happen. Meaning there was a powertrain malfunction so my Ford computer tells me, which caused the vehicle to not restart and in addition to it not restarting, the vehicle also didn't have brakes, so it simply rolled backwards without any control until I hit a tree to stop me. On the way down, I also hit the bumper and damaged it and also hit the driver's side mirror on a rock on the way down.
Battery charge, over heated, failed power train, and failed 4x4 happened all within seconds of each other. We were on a 2 lane hwy where there was very little room to pull off the main road. It was Christmas Eve and we were about 60 miles from home. We had to pay around $400 dollars to have it towed home and it was freezing outside while we waited.

Owner's ford bronco 2022 continues to exhibit unsafe behavior: where after entering 4L, reversing and then moving forward (manual transmission), the rear camera will not disable until the vehicle is shut off. Despite active recall sent from Ford (in post card) as well as present on NHTSA on this vehicle (ford bronco 2022) after reaching the dealership in person, calling ford headquarters. Ford motor company mentions there is no active recall, software is updated, and there is nothing they are able to do.
The soft top on the 2022 four door Bronco does not properly latch. I know earlier years and some 2022s were recalled for this but mine has not been recalled and it needs to be addressed. Also the back up camera and 360 cameras do not work
When set to high speed the wipers after a brief period will "slow down to protect the wiper motor" or something, creating a situation where in even mild rain the car forces the wipers to slow down making it unsafe. Clearly... Ford has severely under spec'd the wiper motor/gearbox hardware and "fixed" it with software making the vehicle unsafe where it will just randomly decide that high speed wiper's are not available anymore.
This vehicle is supposed to be flat tow able. If I go to flat tow this car it will lock up the wheels during the first hour or so while towing behind my motor home using a supplemental braking system. I find out later from a forum online that I need to remove some fuses to tow it properly. I hear Ford is working on this issue for a couple years but how many tire lock ups before someone gets hurt?
Randomly the following takes place while vehicle is in motion at various speeds… Hill assist warning followed by (in rapid succession) pre collision assist not available, antilock brake fault Then the brakes momentarily give out then come back in non-powered mode which dangerously locks up the wheels when stopping System then resets itself Bronco6g forums have reported similar issues
The 2022 Bronco is listed as being able to be flat towed behind a motorhome and the software allows it to be put into flat tow mode. 49 states require that flat towed vehicles over a certain weight have supplemental braking. When the supplemental brake system is installed in a Bronco with the 2.7 liter engine it stops working correctly after 45 minutes because the electronic brake booster shuts off. This results in the supplemental braking system not having enough power to activate the brakes and can cause a serious accident because the motorhome cannot stop soon enough. Ford issued TSB 22-2210 to temporarily correct this issue but it simply disables the electronic brake booster (must remove fuses) and again leaves the towed vehicle with insufficient braking. Ford claims they are working a software update due out in September 2022, it is now mid October and no recall has been issued.
Engine/battery emitted smoke and sulfur odors. Causing concern of igniting or exploding
Bronco base had no option for tow package but for $195 option 66C is a factory install auxiliary switches. Switch 1 is wired to 30 amps or 360 watts @12 v. This option has 2 parts. The second parts are not attached. Ford states the installer is liable, even though the factory supplies low wattage 16amp (1.5mm2) wires in various parts of the Bronco. When fasten to switch one at 360 watts (30 amps) the low wattage 16 AGW will heat and can cause a fire in the vehicle. The smell of the low wattage burning can be detected. Ford uses an old accessory wiring harness with a power module to supply wattage to a trailer for lights and braking. It was reported that when the trailer brake control module not installed by factory since option on certain model Broncos, the emergency braking module would be activate correctly and the sway controls had to disabled. Issues have been filed with Ford, but Ford has not responded on Bronco Base models.
Bronco MY 2022 Owners manual pages 288-289 on suv shows how to disengage in features menu the background ESC controls for yaw in the Trailer sway subsystem of ESC.When a dangerious highway sway of a trailer occurs, this subsystem will detect yaw and apply brakes. It is reported on F150 that rear brakes will heat up and may fail.Base Bronco, for marketing purposes cannot be factory equipped tow package options, but accessories market tow hitch and electric harness. Big Ben and others model may or may not have option. Cas38178902 was open and selling dealer has been advised. If brake start to heat up and seaze pads to rotors the Base Bronco has no method to disable the trailer sway controls since the MAP factory was instructed not to enable the trailer tow control. Jackknifing may occur on base Bronco with afterfactory tow equipment.
Windows don’t drop down when opening the door, and they don’t rise when closing the door as they used to do it. Brake light came on and brakes look good no one is taking responsibility.
