WHILE DRIVING AT 55 MPH, THE HOOD FLEW UP AND CRACKED THE WINDSHIELD. THE MECHANIC EXAMINED THE VEHICLE AND FOUND THERE WAS A RECALL ON THE LATCH, BUT IT WAS ONLY FOR CROWN VICTORIA POLICE CARS. *AK RECALL#97V024000. THE FAN BELT HAD GONE OUT ALONG WITH THE POWER STEERING. *SC *JB

I HAVE THIS CAR FOR 11 YRS AND WAS VERY UPSET WHEN THE TRAN WENT OUT ON VACATION AT 83000 MILES. I HAD NO OTHER WAY OUT BUT TO GET A LIFE TIME WARRANTY ON A NEW TRAN FROM AAMCO KNOWING I WOULD HAVE THE CAR FOR MANY MORE YEARS. IM GLAD I DID BECAUSE AFTER A YEAR IT WENT OUT AGAIN AND AAMCO HAD TO FOOT THE BILL BUT IT CAUSED ME TIME. THE WINDOW REGULATOR WENT OUT TWICE IN THE FRONT. ONCE IN 1995 AND 2003. PAIN IN THE BUTT IF YOU LIVE IN SO. CAL. WOULD I BUY THE CRN VIC AGAIN? YES.

CAR SAT FOR ABOUT 2 WEEKS IN 6 TO 30 DEGREES F WITH OUT BEING STARTED. ON 01/03/2001, I STARTED THE ENGINE JUST TO RUN IT FOR AWHILE. AFTER ABOUT SIX MINUTES I PUT THE TRANSMISSION IN O.D. DRIVE WITH MY FOOT FIRMLY ON THE BRAKE. THE ENGINE IMMEDIATELY ACCELERATED TO A HIGH RPM AND PUT THE CAR IN MOTION, I WAS ABLE TO HOLD THE SPEED DOWN WITH THE BRAKE, BUT NOT STOP IT. AFTER ABOUT THIRTY FEET I PUT THE SHIFT LEVER INTO PARK. THE ENGINE IMMEDIATELY DROPPED TO NORMAL RPM AND THE VEHICLE CAME TO A STOP WITHIN TEN FEET OF A HEAVY TRAVELED INTERSECTION. THIS WAS TOO CLOSE FOR COMFORT!

WAS INFORMED BY MECHANIC MANIFOLD ON NATIONAL BACK ORDER & WOULD NOTIFIY WHEN PARTS ARE AVAILABLE. HAVE CHECKED & PARTS STILL NOT AVAILABLE. *AK
