TL*THE CONTACT OWNS A 1992 CROWN VICTORIA. WHILE DRIVING SPEEDS RANGING FROM 20 TO 40 MPH, THE VEHICLE BEGAN IDLING AND ATTEMPTED TO SHUT OFF. THE VEHICLE WAS SHUT OFF AND RESTARTED. THE CONTACT NOTICED WATER LEAKING FROM THE BOTTOM OF THE TRANSMISSION AND THE CHECK ENGINE LIGHT ILLUMINATED. THE STEERING COLUMN WAS INSTALLED BACKWARDS, WHICH CAUSED THE FEATURES OF THE STEERING COLUMN NOT TO OPERATE NORMALLY. THE CURRENT MILEAGE WAS 232,871 AND THE APPROXIMATE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 200,000. I HAVE THIS CAR FOR 11 YRS AND WAS VERY UPSET WHEN THE TRAN WENT OUT ON VACATION AT 83000 MILES. I HAD NO OTHER WAY OUT BUT TO GET A LIFE TIME WARRANTY ON A NEW TRAN FROM AAMCO KNOWING I WOULD HAVE THE CAR FOR MANY MORE YEARS. IM GLAD I DID BECAUSE AFTER A YEAR IT WENT OUT AGAIN AND AAMCO HAD TO FOOT THE BILL BUT IT CAUSED ME TIME. THE WINDOW REGULATOR WENT OUT TWICE IN THE FRONT. ONCE IN 1995 AND 2003. PAIN IN THE BUTT IF YOU LIVE IN SO. CAL. WOULD I BUY THE CRN VIC AGAIN? YES.

CONSUMER STATES WHILE TURNING ONTO THE PARKWAY THE VEHICLES TRANSMISSION STOPPED OPERATING. *JB THE VEHICLE SURGE FORWARD AND BECAME OUT OF CONTROL WITHOUT WARNING. THE CAUSE WAS FOUND TO BE A CABLE THAT HAD SNAPPED AND CAUGHT ITSELF BEHIND THE ACCELERATOR. *YH

THROTTLE STICKING/BACK FIRING/EXCESSIVE OIL LOSS AND FRONT END VIBRATION. *AK THE VEHICLE MAKES TICKING NOISE WHEN ACCELERATING. THE ANTENNA WAS BENT. THE WIPERS GETS STUCK IN THE MIDDLE OF THE WINDSHIELD. THE TAPE PLAYER FAILED. LEFT TURN SIGNAL WAS INOPERATIVE. THE CONSUMER WAS TRYING TO TAKE THE PROBLEM TO COURT. *YH

WHEN STARTING THE VEHICLE UP, THE VEHICLE JUMPED OUT OF GEAR, CAUSING THE CONSUMER TO GO IN REVERSE AND OVER A CURB REAL FAST. CONSUMER APPLIED THE BRAKES TO GET THE VEHICLE TO COME TO A STOP, AND THERE WAS LOUD NOISE COMING FROM THE ENGINE. *AK
AFTER STARTING THE VEHICLE IT JUMPED INTO GEAR, CAUSING THE VEHICLE TO JUMP A CURB AND, ALMOST RUNN INTO A TREE UNTIL THE CONSUMER APPLIDED THE BRAKES AND VEHICLE CAME TO A COMPLETE STOP, THERE IS ALSO A LOUD NOISE COMING FROM THE ENGINE. *AK *NLM
AUTOMATIC TRANSMISSION TORQUE CONVERTER FAILS TO LOCK UP PROPERLY CAUSING VIBRATION.
WHEN DRIVING AND SHIFTING THE CAR RUMBLES, FEELS LIKE THE CAR WILL FALL APART, INTERMITTENTLY, MECHANIC STATES VARIOUS PROBLEMS AND REPAIRED. PROBLEM STILL REMAINS, TORQUE CONVERTER IS THE DEFECTIVE PART. DEALER CONTACTED AND CANNOT DUPLICATE THE PROBLEM. *AK
