My question is I’m getting ready to buy a 2007 Ford edge for my mother and she’s already put three water pumps on this car and it cost like almost 1000 bucks to do it every time. I don’t even know if it’s worth it but I was just wondering if there’s any recalls on something like that or if it’s something wrong with why it keeps going keeps messing up
While driving the air bag symbol and wrench appears on the dash, car starts losing power, and when shifting gears there's a hard shift and clunking noise. Videos on YouTube show many people with the same issue some say it's a sensor issue. Output Shaft speed sensor and turbine speed sensor
when i bought my car on [XXX] I drove it home from Hooksett NH from Alfa Car dealership tire pressure light came on battery light and the check engine light all came on and when I stopped and turned the car off all lights went off. I owned the car for two days and all of a sudden my car would not start it was fine went to drop my dog off and the car wouldn't start for a few hours this happened. When driving white smoke came out of the rear and I had an oil in the car. The car completely dies in the middle of the road and doesn't start all the oil is gone and there is a hole through my engine. 1. P0301 misfire in the engine and P0201 fuel injecter both should be recalled on all 2007 Ford edges as me and another lady both wrecked hitting a small poles and the business owners was nice and said to make it home safely since there was no damage. I have done plenty of research and Ford is refusing to do any recalls on the spark plugs in the engine and the fuel injecter. Please recalls those so no one gets seriously hurt from it.

My alternator keep draining my new batteries from to much electrical pull and turns off all my digital dash and says my brake system is in failure and there is something wrong with the suspension in the front end even though I have had it fixed and the same problem has returned . I had my battery explode. The transmission jerks whenever it shifts and the transmission fluid is full and I maintain it on a regular basis. It is driven in town only. I am scared of it catching on fire now since I just saw that it is still has a recall that has not been repaired and I bought it used and I was told all recalls were taken care of. I have my grandchildren in this vehicle weekly. I want to see about getting this looked at and repaired correctly. I fear for my safety.

Ford oem water pump failing causing antifreeze to mix in oil, costly repair
On 11/7-22, I stopped at a major traffic light on my way to work and when the traffic light turned green and I motioned to drive forward, I noticed my car had stalled and proceeded to roll backwards in traffic. I quickly placed my foot on the gas pedal to move forward, however my car continued to roll backwards, almost hitting the vehicle behind me. So I immediately put on my emergency lights and pressed the brakes repeatedly, however my brakes were frozen (hard) and did not stop my car from rolling backwards. After several minutes, my car stopped rolling backwards and I was able to restart it and slowly drive off the major highway to get assistance. When driving off the highway my car was moving extremely slow and rough. Since the incident, my car have not been inspected or repaired by a mechanic. Prior to this incident, my car have stalled out at stops and while driving but never rolled backwards or lost brake control.
I BOUGHT MY CAR A FEW YEARS AGO FROM A USED CAR LOT. I HAVE HAD PROBLEMS EVER SINCE. MY BREAKS KEEP GOING, MY TRANSMISSION IS SLIPPING AND THE TRIMMING AROUND MY WINDSHIELD IS FALLING OUT. I'M AFRAID THE WINDSHIELD IS GOING TO FLY OFF. ALL I KEEP SEEING ATE PROBLEMS WITH THIS CAR.

THE WATER PUMP ON THIS VEHICLE IS LOCATED IN A POSITION THAT REQUIRES A FULL AND EXPENSIVE REMOVAL OF THE ENGINE TO EVEN CHECK ON IT. MANUAL HAS NO WATER PUMP MAINTENANCE SCHEDULE. THE WATER PUMP HAS FAILED INTERNALLY AND DUMPS COOLANT INTO THE ENGINE AND OIL PAN. THERE IS NO WAY TO KNOW THIS IS COMING OR HAS HAPPENED UNTIL YOUR ENGINE OVERHEATS. BY THAT POINT THE COOLANT HAS ALREADY RUN THROUGH MY ENGINE AND CAUSED IRREVERSIBLE DAMAGE THAT REQUIRES A COMPLETE ENGINE REPLACEMENT. FORD IS AND HAS BEEN AWARE OF THIS ISSUE AND REFUSES TO DO ANYTHING.

MY 2007 FORD EDGE AT 77,291 MILE HAD AN ECM FAILURE WITH COIL FAILURES (PO351, PO 352 & PO354). THIS COST ME $1079.87 FOR THE NEW ECM, AND I REPLACED ALL COILS FOR $264 ($44/EACH X 6). THIS EDGE IS THE FIRST FORD VEHICLE I HAVE PURCHASED, & IT MIGHT BE MY LAST. I HAVE ALWAYS HAD GM PRODUCTS UNTIL NOW, & EACH OF THOSE VEHICLES I DROVE TO OVER 200 K MILES ON THEM & NEVER REPLACED THE ECM OR COILS. I AM REPORTING THIS IN HOPES TO ENCOURAGE FORD TO PLACE A RECALL ON THIS VEHICLE TO HELP OFF SET MY COSTS.

WE HAD THE EDGE TOWED TO OUR FORD DEALERSHIP AND WERE TOLD THE WATER PUMP WENT BAD AND THE ENGINE WAS DESTROYED. OUR OIL WAS FULL OF WATER/COOLANT--IT LOOKED LIKE MUDDY WATER. WHAT? HOW? NO WARNING, NO SIGNS? AFTER MUCH RESEARCH WE ARE FINDING THAT THE WATER PUMP IS INSIDE THE ENGINE, THEREFORE IF THE WATER PUMP "GOES" THERE ARE NO EXTERNAL SIGNS OF LEAKAGE---IT'S KINDLY LEAKING IN TO YOUR ENGINE AND DESTROYING IT. THIS LITERALLY HAPPENED IN A MATTER OF MINUTES. YES, THIS IS SAFETY ISSUE--IT LEFT ME STRANDED AND NOW I'M WITHOUT A VEHICLE FOR ANOTHER WEEK OR SO WHILE A NEW ENGINE IS BEING ORDERED AN INSTALLED. I CAN'T BELIEVE FORD HASN'T ADDRESSED THIS "DESIGN" ISSUE WITH ALL THE COMPLAINTS I'VE READ THUS FAR. THIS DESERVES A RECALL AND AT THE VERY LEAST IT DESERVES FORD'S ATTENTION TO BE REDESIGNED. TAKING CAR TO THE DEALERSHIP FOR A DIAGNOSES, BUT FROM ARTICLES ONLINE THERE APPEARS TO BE A PCM & COILS, BUT NO RECALL AVAILABLE FOR THIS REPORTED COMPLAINT. I PURCHASED THIS VEHICLE IN 2016 WITH A OPEN RECALL, THE DEALERSHIP FAILED TO INFORM ME ABOUT OR FIX PRIOR TO SELLING IT. THE VEHICLE HAS HAD SEVERAL PROBLEMS THEY REFUSED TO REPAIR EVEN THOUGH I PURCHASED IT FROM THEM. THEY ARE A GM DEALERSHIP SAID THEY DO NOT HAVE THE TOOLS TO MAKE ANY REPAIRS ON THE VEHICLE. THIS INCIDENT IN QUESTION HAPPENED ON 11-04-17 THE CAR WAS SITTING IN MY DRIVEWAY AND I NOTICED A PUDDLE OF GAS UNDER THE CAR, THE GAS TANK IS WHAT WAS LEAKING AND THERE HAS BEEN A OPEN RECALL ON IT SINCE 2014.

OVER THE LAST 3 YEARS WE HAVE HAD SEVERAL SHOPS LOOK AT IT INCLUDING A THE FORD DEALERSHIP WHERE WE PURCHASED IT WHILE IT WAS UNDER WARRANTY AND AFTER. EACH TIME THEY ADVISED THE COMPUTER WAS NOT REGISTERING ANYTHING WRONG. EVERY LOCATION DROVE THE VEHICLE AND DID FEEL THE SAME THING BUT WERE UNABLE TO LOCATE THE ISSUE. WE HAVE EVEN LEFT THE CAR AT THE SHOP FOR SEVERAL DAYS AT A TIME FOR THEM TO DRIVE AND TRY TO LOCATE THE ISSUE. I HAVE CONTACT FORD BUT WAS ADVISED THERE WAS NO RECALL OR ANYONE ELSE HAVING ISSUES BUT I WAS WELCOME TO CALL BACK AND KEEP ADVISING THEM OF THE ISSUE. THE REPAIR SHOPS ADVISED I WOULD HAVE TO WAIT FOR SOMETHING TO ESSENTIALLY BREAK TO BE ABLE TO LOCATE THE PROBLEM. SUBSEQUENTLY, THE SERVICE PROVIDER REPLACED ALL THE SPARK PLUGS AND TWO COILS. THE CAR WAS NOT FIXED AND IT WAS FURTHER DETERMINED THAT THE PCM BOARD IS SENDING EXTREMELY HIGH CURRENT TO THE IGNITION COILS AND COULD HAVE CAUSED AN ENGINE FIRE. THIS IS VERY DISTRESSING. THE DEALERSHIP TOLD ME THAT THE PCM HAD A MALFUNCTION WHICH CAUSED THE COILS/SPARK PLUGS TO GO BAD. THEY ALSO SAID THE PCM HAS A MANUFACTURER 8 YEAR/80,000 MILE WARRANTY. WELL I WAS AT 7 YEARS/83000 MILES AND WHEN THEY SUBMITTED THE WARRANTY CLAIM, FORD DENIED IT FORCING ME TO PAY $2400 FOR THE REPAIRS. TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2007 FORD EDGE. THE CONTACT STATED THAT WHILE DRIVING APPROXIMATELY 60 MPH, THE VEHICLE SHUTTERED AND THERE WAS A LOSS OF ACCELERATION POWER. THE CONTACT ALSO STATED THAT THE CHECK ENGINE WARNING LIGHT WAS ILLUMINATED. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO A PRIVATE MECHANIC WHERE IT WAS DIAGNOSED THAT THE IGNITION COIL, SPARK PLUGS AND THE ECM SYSTEM NEEDED TO BE REPLACED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS MADE AWARE OF THE FAILURE. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED. THE APPROXIMATE FAILURE AND CURRENT MILEAGE WAS 74,000. *TR

WHILE DRIVING MY FIVE OLD SONS TO SCHOOL YESTERDAY MORNING, I START NOTICING THE CAR STOPS CHANGING SPEED AND START SHAKING ALL THE SUDDEN THEN THE ENGINE SERVICE LIGHT START BLINKING. I HAVE SLOWED DOWN AND KEEP DRIVING MY SOON TO SCHOOL BUT IT WAS BAD EXPERIENCE DRIVING WITH MORNING TRAFFIC. I AM GLAD THAT I AM NOT DRIVING ON THE BIG HIGHWAYS THE CONSEQUENCE COULD BE DIFFERENT. THE DEALER TOLD ME THE IGNITION COMPUTER (RPM) IS CAUSING ONE OF THE IGNITION COIL TO MELT AND CRACK. FOR SURE THIS IS A BIG SAFETY CONCERN ON THIS CAR THAT REQUIRES RECALL. *TR

IF I ACCELERATE MORE THAN 15 MPH THE CAR WOULD WHAT I CALL "SLAM" INTO THE NEXT GEAR. WHEN I AM ACCELERATING ONTO THE HIGHWAY OR ACCELERATE AND THEN BACK OFF THE GAS AND GO AGAIN OR IF I ACCELERATE INTO THE PASSING LANE THE CAR DOESN'T DRIVE. I HAVE HAD THE CAR TO BETHLEHEM FORD, KELLY FORD IN EMMAUS AND GILBOY FORD IN WHITEHALL FOR THE PROBLEM TWO TIMES AT EACH LOCATION. NO ONE CAN FIND OUT WHAT IS WRONG. CONTACTED FORD DIRECTLY AND THEY SAY TAKE IT TO THE DEALERSHIP FOR REPAIR, I TOLD THEM I DID NUMEROUS TIMES AND THEY TOLD ME THIS."THE CAR LEARNS HOW YOU DRIVE, SO WHEN YOU DRIVE OUT OF CHARACTER THE CAR BASICALLY REACTS BY TELLING YOU NOW WAIT A MINUTE I DON'T KNOW WHAT YOU'RE DOING AND THE CAR REACTS IN A CONFUSED MANNER". THEY ALSO TOLD ME THAT BECAUSE I'M NOT AN AGGRESSIVE DRIVER THAT WHEN I DO DRIVE AGGRESSIVE "THE CAR DOESN'T UNDERSTAND". I DRIVE HIGHWAY EVERY DAY TO AND FROM WORK, I HAVE TO BE AGGRESSIVE MOST OF THE TIME TO SURVIVE ON THE HIGHWAY AND KEEP UP WITH TRAFFIC. I HAVE ASKED THE DEALERSHIP TO COME DOWN THE BLOCK SO I CAN SHOW THEM WHAT THE CAR DOES SINCE IT DOES IT EVERY DAY WHEN I LEAVE WORK BUT THEY TELL ME THEY CAN'T BECAUSE IT IS A LIABILITY ISSUE FOR THEM TO DRIVE IN THE CAR WITH ME. THEY HAVE HAD THE CAR AND CAN'T MAKE IT REPEAT THE SITUATION; I HAVE GONE ON TEST RIDES WITH A MECHANIC AND CAN'T MAKE IT REPEAT THE PROBLEM. I WAS TAKING ONE OF OUR EMPLOYEES TO GO PICK UP ONE OF THE COMPANY VEHICLES AT GILBOY AND I SAID DO YOU WANT ME TO SHOW YOU WHAT MY CAR DOES AND HE SAID YES. SO I MADE THE CAR DO THE SLAMMING INTO GEAR AND HE SAID THAT ISN'T RIGHT HE TRIED TO FIGHT FOR ME AT GILBOY BUT THEY SAID AGAIN NO CODE AND THEY COULDN'T REPEAT THE SITUATION. NOW MY CAR IS ALMOST OUT OF WARRANTY AND STILL NO FIX. I DON'T HAVE MONEY TO MAKE MAJOR REPAIRS TO A CAR THAT IS WHY I BOUGHT NEW AND I DON'T HAVE MONEY TO BUY A NEW CAR. *TR

THE 2007 FORD EDGE STARTED TO HAVE A PROBLEMS, SHAKING, STALLING. 6/1/12 TOOK VEHICLE TO PEP BOYS THINKING IT WAS A SENSOR OR SOMETHING SIMILAR. THE IGNITION COILS WERE MELTED FROM A ENCLOSE EXPLOSION OF THE PART.. UPON REPLACING THE PARTS, THE CAR FAIL TO RUN PROPERLY. PEP BOYS CALLED THE LOCAL FORD DEALERSHIP TO INQUIRE FORD DEALERSHIP KNEW RIGHT AWAY WHAT THE PROBLEM WAS. THEY OPENLY ADMITTED THAT THIS WAS A SERIOUS FIRE DANGER AND THE CAR HAD TO BROUGHT TO THEM TO FIX. HAS SOMETHING TO WITH THE ENGINE COMPUTER BUT..... NO RECALL FOR YEAR 2007 WAS TOLD HOW LUCKY I WAS THAT THE CAR DID NOT EXPLODE OR CATCH FIRE. THE FORD SERVICE DEPT HAS RUN INTO THE PROBLEM SEVERAL TIMES AND SEEM TO AWARE OF THE DANGER OF THIS PROBLEM. I WAS FORCED TO PAY FORD DEALERSHIP PRICES FOR 6 FORD IGNITION COILS AT THEIR PRICE, NEW ENGINE COMPUTER AT FORD PRICE PLUS LABOR AT FORD LABOR PRICES, PLUS TUNE UP. AND NO ASSURANCE THAT MY CAR WOULD NOT CATCH FIRE OR EXPLODE FOR THAT FACT I WOULD SAY THAT THIS IS A CONSUMER SAFETY ISSUE, WOULDN'T YOU? *TR
