My 2007 Ford Edge lost the use of my accelerometer pedal without any warning, while driving. The pedal collapsed to the floor. The engine continued to run. A wrench image appeared on the dashboard. After towing to service station the gas pedal worked again. No codes could be determined during TWO diagnostic procedures. After the first mechanics could not determine or diagnose a problem, nor replicate the problem, I had it towed to my local Ford Dealership. Their diagnosis claimed no indication of an issue on their diagnostic computer either. I’m afraid to drive my car. P0301 misfire in the engine and P0201 fuel injecter both should be recalled on all 2007 Ford edges as me and another lady both wrecked hitting a small poles and the business owners was nice and said to make it home safely since there was no damage. I have done plenty of research and Ford is refusing to do any recalls on the spark plugs in the engine and the fuel injecter. Please recalls those so no one gets seriously hurt from it.

I bought the vehicle used and I was told that it ran fine and there were no issues with the automobile. And then it started having warning issue lights and then I started having problems with steering and holding in the road and it begain popping when I turn the vehicle to the left . And then the recall with the fuel tank I am scared of the vehicle and I do carry children in it. The used car lot I got it from will not do an inspection on it. So I would like to have it looked at and see if does need to be fixed as so i don't have a accident and see about getting the gas tank fixed. I don't drive it very fast at all and won't take it a long distance .to scares to go far in it

I have a fuel leak, brought it to my standard shop and they informed me that the fuel tank has rusted through from the top of the fuel tank and needs a complete replacement. I have called Ford and they explained that my vehicle was inspected inspected recall 14s22 in March of 2016 and deemed no repair was needed, so no additional repair would be covered.

WHY WOULD FORD NOT FIX THIS PROBLEM?WHY IS THIS A PROBLEM?WHAT IF SOMEONE DIES? THEN WHAT? I HAVE REICIEPTS UPON RECIIEPTS. WHY ARE WE THE CONSUMERS THE ONE WHO HAS TO PAY FOR YOUR FAULTS. THEY PRICED THIS CAR AT 10000 WITH FINANCE CHARGE WHEN I WAS TOLD THE CAR WAS 6500 I PUT 1500 DOWN PLUS 746 MAKE UP DOWNPAYMENT. I HAVE STILL BEEN PAYING ON IT AND I DO NOT BELIEVE I SHOULD BE BECAUSE IT CANT BE WORTH THAT MUCH IF THIS WAS A FLOOD CAR. THE VEHICLE WAS IDENTIFED UNDER NHTSA CAMPAIGN NUMBER 14V682000 AND WAS TAKEN TO MY LOCAL FORD DEALERSHIP ON AUGUST 22, 2016 TO HAVE THE NECESSARY REPAIRS COMPLETED. A STRONG FUEL ODOR WAS COMING FROM THE VEHICLE. AFTER LESS THAN 30 MINUTES, THE FORD DEALERSHIP CALLED AND SAID THE REPAIRS WERE COMPLETED. THE ONLY REPAIRS THAT WERE COMPLETED WERE FOUR NEW BOLTS (I HAVE THE INVOICE FROM THE FORD DEALERSHIP SHOWING ONLY FOUR NEW BOLTS WERE INSTALLED). THE FUEL TANK WAS NOT REPLACED, NO CORROSION PREVENTATIVE WAS APPLIED TO THE TANK, AND NO INSPECTION REPORT WAS PROVIDED. STARTING IN AUGUST 2017, A STRONG FUEL ODOR STARTED AGAIN. THE VEHICLE WAS RETURNED TO THE LOCAL FORD DEALERSHIP, AND I WAS INFORMED THAT THE FUEL TANK HAD SO MUCH CORROSION IT WAS STARTING TO SPLIT IN ONE CORNER. THE FORD DEALERSHIP SAID IT RECOMMENDED A NEW FUEL TANK, AND THAT IT WOULD NOT BE COVERED UNTIL THE SAFETY RECALL AND IT WOULD BE MY RESPONSIBILITY TO PAY FOR THE NEW FUEL TANK.

THE DEALER ORIGINALLY THOUGHT IT WAS THE ELECTRONIC THROTTLE BODY BUT THEY HAVE NOW DETERMINED THAT WAS NOT THE PROBLEM. INSTEAD IT IS THE PCM WHICH IS COSTING ME OVER $1500, IF THAT EVEN FIXES THIS. PLUS I HAVE BEEN PAYING FOR A RENTAL CAR BECAUSE THE DEALERS DON'T HAVE FREE LOANER VEHICLES. SO THIS WHOLE THING IS GOING TO COST ME ABOUT $2000. NOW I HAVE BEEN RESEARCHING THIS PROBLEM, AND CAN CLEARLY TELL THIS IS NOT NORMAL WEAR AND TEAR INSTEAD IT IS A FAULTY PART THAT SO MANY OTHER OWNERS ARE EXPERIENCING. I AM THE OWNER OF A 2007 FORD EDGE SE. WE RECENTLY SMELLED GAS COMING FROM THE DRIVER'S SIDE OF THE VEHICLE. THE CAR WAS TAKEN TO A FORD DEALERSHIP TO HAVE THE PROBLEM DIAGNOSED. THE FORD DEALERSHIP EXPLAINED THAT THERE WAS A HOLE IN THE GAS TANK DUE TO CORROSION AND WOULD NEED A NEW GAS TANK AND FUEL PUMP THAT WOULD COST APPROXIMATELY $1,800 TO $2,500 TO FIX. THE DEALERSHIP CUSTOMER SERVICE AND FORD CUSTOMER SERVICE WERE EXTREMELY POOR. FORD CUSTOMER SERVICE STATED THAT THERE IS NO RECALL, THEREFORE THEY WILL NOT STAND BEHIND THEIR PRODUCT- THIS WILL NOT BE THE FIRST REVIEW THAT YOU WILL READ ABOUT THIS EXACT SAME ISSUE. AFTER DOING MORE RESEARCH, THE 2007-2009 MODELS HAVE THE SAME FUEL TANK AND THE 2008 MODEL HAS BEEN RECALLED FOR THIS ISSUE. A 7 YEAR OLD CAR SHOULD NOT HAVE TO HAVE THE GAS TANK REPLACED, ESPECIALLY WHEN THIS IS NOTED AT THE SEAM. WEVE OWNED THIS VEHICLE FOR APPROXIMATELY 2 YEARS. THE OTHER DAY WE NOTICED A STRONG SMELL OF GASOLINE AROUND THE CAR. UPON CHECKING WE NOTICED THE FUEL TANK LEAKING FROM AROUND A SEEM. WHEN I STARTED CHECKING AROUND FOR A REPLACEMENT TANK I NOTICED A RECALL ON 2008 FORD EDGE. MY CAR WAS BUILT IN AUGUST OF 07. THEY DESCRIBED THE SAME PROBLEM CAUSED BY CONTAMINATION NEAR A DIMPLE AT A SEEM. THE SAME TANK IS ON THE 07, 08 AND 09 EDGE. WHEN I CHECKED WITH FORD THEY SAID MY CAR WASN'T UNDER RECALL. I BELIEVE IT SHOULD BE BECAUSE OF THE SAME TANKS ON THE 07, 08 AND 09 MODELS PLUS ITS A SAFETY HAZZARD AS I CANNOT DRIVE THE CAR AND THE COST TO FIX IT IS OVER $2,000.00. FORD SHOULD BE MADE TO RECALL ALL MODELS FROM 07 ON AND CORRECT THIS PROBLEM AT NO COST TO THE CONSUMER BEFORE SOMEONE GETS KILLED. I BELIEVE FORD KNOWS ABOUT THIS AND IS INTENTIONALLY NOT RECALLING THESE MODELS BECAUSE OF THE COST INVOLVED. I WOKE UP TO MY HOUSE SMELLING OF GAS, AFTER TAKING IT TO A SHOP, I WAS TOLD THERE WAS A CRACK IN THE TOP OF THE TANK. IT TOOK 3 DAYS TO GET IT BACK, WHEN I PICKED IT UP, I WAS TOLD TO FILL IT UP WITH GAS, THEN IT WAS LEAKING GAS REAL BAD, STEADY DRIP. THE SMELL OF GASOLINE PROMPTED ME TO BRING MY FORD EDGE TO THE FORD DEALERSHIP. I WAS INFORMED THAT THE FUEL TANK RUSTED OUT AND NEEDED TO BE REPLACED. I QUESTIONED THIS AS I HAVE OWNED FORD VEHICLES FOR TEN PLUS YEARS APIECE AND NEVER HAD THE PROBLEM. I WAS TOLD IT WAS NOT ABNORMAL. AFTER SEARCHING ONLINE I HAVE FOUND THIS TO BE A FREQUENT OCCURRENCE IN THE FORD EDGE VEHICLE. NOW, I WAS TOLD BY THE DEALER THAT IT WAS UNSAFE TO DRIVE THIS CAR HOME DUE TO A FIRE HAZARD AND HAD TO RENT A VEHICLE RIGHT THEN AND THERE. FROM THE NUMBER OF ONLINE COMPLAINTS I HAVE READ, I BELIEVE THE FORD EDGE NEEDS TO BE DEEMED UNSAFE DUE TO THE FUEL TANK LEAKING PROBLEM. FORD NEEDS TO OWN UP TO THE FACT THAT THEY ARE PUTTING THEIR CUSTOMERS' LIVES IN DANGER BY NOT RECALLING AND CORRECTING THE FUEL TANKS IN THESE VEHICLES WHICH ARE OBVIOUSLY DEFECTIVE. NOT ONLY THAT, BUT THE ENVIRONMENTAL CONSEQUENCES OF LEAKING FUEL IS A DANGER TO EVERYONE. IT IS NECESSARY TO ALSO MENTION THAT MY VEHICLE WAS SOLD TO ME AS CERTIFIED PRE OWNED ONLY 3 YEARS AGO WITH THE MILEAGE AT 32,579. HOW ARE THEY PRECERTIFYING ? WITH COVER UPS???? SO, IN ESSENCE THE FACT THAT THEY PRECERTIFIED 3 YEARS AGO MEANS THIS PROBLEM EITHER OCCURRED WITHIN 3 YEARS OR THE PRECERTIFICATION WAS BOGUS, EITHER OF WHICH IS UNACCEPTABLE. ALSO, THEIR WARRANTY WHICH COMES WITH THE PRECERT STATES FEB. 2013 OR 100,00 MILES. THEY WILL NOT HONOR THE 100,00 MILES AS THEY SAY IT IS ONLY IF THE 100,00 MILES OCCURS BEFORE THE EXPIRATION DATE. IF THAT WERE TRULY THE CASE, THE WORDING SHOULD SAY "WHICH EVER COMES FIRST." CHECK OUT THE FORD MANUAL TO VERIFY THIS INFO. THEY ARE MISLEADING AND DECEPTIVE IN THEIR WARRANTY DEFINITION AS WELL AS THEIR VEHICLES. AFTER CONTINUALLY SMELLING GAS WHILE MY VEHICLE WAS PARKED IN THE GARAGE I DISCOVERED A GAS LEAK IN THE FUEL TANK. I TOOK THE VEHICLE TO A PRIVATE MECHANIC AND HE VERIFIED THE FUEL TANK WAS LEAKING DUE TO RUSTING OF THE TANK. THE MECHANIC INFORMED ME OF THE PRICE OF A NEW TANK AND IT IS VERY EXPENSIVE. A PERSON AT MY LOCAL FORD DEALER INFORMED ME THAT HE HAD THE SAME PROBLEM WITH HIS EDGE. ALSO, I FOUND A USED FUEL TANK IN SEARCH FOR A REPLACEMENT, AND FOUND IT HAS THE SAME RUSTING PROBLEMS.
