The locked door emblem sporadically comes on and stays on. It makes my interior lights stay on. It runs my battery down. The back passenger side door was opened by a rider and the lock all doors button had been engaged. The red light was on to show doors were not locked. This has been an ongoing issue for several months now. I have an appointment at Ford garage 09/13/22.
Problem with the computer for dash. Was worked on at Ford dealership in Lexington ky and had to borrow money with the lender that was already financing the vehicle for me for repairs. They was unable to repair it but still charged me almost 1,800.00.
The rear taillight socket melted due to excessive heat. This has happened twice to the same vehicle. Once in 05/2019. At the time, a dealer service center recommended replacing the junction box, a $700 repair. The same issue has occurred again.
My backup lights kept burning out and are no longer functional. My directional and taillights have both burned out excessively. Last time I changed my left tail light I noticed the socket the bulb goes into looked a bit charred. My right directional recently burned out and this time the bulb is melted into the socket. I have an appt to have a mechanic change ALL REAR SOCKETS. Upon discovering the melted socket I checked on line and apparently this is a BIG PROBLEM for FORD EDGE. This should be recalled as it is a serious problem.
WHILE DRIVING WITH MY 6 MONTH OLD SON IN THE CAR, I COULDN'T STOP USING MY BRAKES! I ALMOST CRASHED!! I LOOKED UP THE SYMPTOMS ONLINE AND EVERYONE IS COMPLAINING ABOUT THIS ISSUE. IT SEEMS THE BRAKE BOOSTER FAILS AND THE BRAKES DO NOT WORK!!! THE OTHER ISSUE I HAVE SEEN, HUNDREDS OF PEOPLE COMPLAINING ABOUT REAR TAIL LIGHTS BLOWING OUT AND WHEN CHANGING OUT THE BULBS, THE BULB SOCKETS ARE BURNT AND MELTED! MINE ARE THE SAME, BURNT UP AND MELTED. IT IS A FIRE HAZARD WAITING TO HAPPEN!!

THREE DAYS AFTER PASSING MY ANNUAL TEXAS STATE INSPECTION WHILE DRIVING THROUGH TOWN I INITIATED MY LEFT TURN SIGNAL ONLY TO HAVE THE INDICATOR BLINK VERY QUICKLY (NOT THE NORMAL TICK-TICK-TICK BLINK). UPON REMOVING THE COVERS, THE YOUNG MAN DISCOVERED A FRIED/MELTED ASSEMBLY. THERE IS NO WAY TO REMOVE THE BULB IT IS SO MELTED IN THE SOCKET AND THE SOCKET IS DISCOLORED FROM THE HEAT. THAT MUST HAVE BEEN SOME POWER SURGE TO DO THAT KIND OF DAMAGE. *TR

MAKING A LEFT TURN USING MY TURN SIGNAL, THE TURN SIGNAL LAMP ON THE DASHBOARD STARTED TO FLASH VERY RAPIDLY. I RECOGNIZED THIS AS A BURNED-OUT LAMP. AFTER STOPPING I CHECKED TO FIND THE LEFT REAR LAMP WAS NOT BLINKING. THE BASIC RUNNING LIGHT WORKED HOWEVER. UPON REMOVING THE ASSEMBLY, I FOUND THE LAMP SOCKET PARTIALLY MELTED AND CHARRED. I REMOVED THE LAMP, WHICH TESTED OUT TO BE GOOD. THE SOCKET HAD FAILED. I THEN REMOVED THE RIGHT-HAND REAR LAMP ASSEMBLY AND FOUND THAT IT HAS BEEN VERY HOT AS WAS SOMEWHAT CHARRED. MY WIFE AND I PURCHASED OUR FORD EDGE USED FROM A DEALER, IT IS THE LIMITED MODEL. DROVE THE CAR FOR A FEW DAYS AFTER OUR PURCHASE AND EVERYTHING SEEMED FINE. ON THE THIRD DAY I NOTICED MY DRIVERS SIDE REAR INDICATOR LAMP WASN'T WORKING. ON INSPECTION THE BULB AND SOCKET WERE MELTED TOGETHER AND I WAS UNABLE TO REMOVE THE BULB. BOTH FILAMENTS IN THE BULB WERE IN-TACT. THE FAILURE APPEARED TO BE RELATED TO THE SOCKET GETTING SO HOT THAT IT ACTUALLY MELTED AND FAILED. REAR BRAKE/TAIL LIGHT SOCKET ON THE LEFT REAR OF VEHICLE HAS OVERHEATED AND MELTED THE PLASTIC AROUND LAMP. LAMP WAS BURNT OUT. NOT SURE WHAT CAUSED THE HIGH HEAT PROBLEM. WENT TO FORD DEALER THAT I BOUGHT THE VEHICLE FROM AND THEY SAID THEY KNEW NOTHING ABOUT THIS ISSUE WITH OTHER EDGE'S. (WHAT EVER !) I WANTED THEM TO LOOK AND THE SOCKET AND HARNESS BUT THEY WANTED $98.00 JUST TO "CHECK IT OUT". AND OF COURSE, I'M OUT OF THE 30 MONTH / 36K WARRANTY. GOOD THING I CARRY FULL COVERAGE, BECAUSE IF THE CAR BURNS TO THE GROUND, YOU CAN BET I WON'T BE BUYING ANOTHER FORD. *TR
