I have had issues with this car since a few months from me getting it. My rear camera wouldn't work half the time and sometimes turns the images upside down. My heat and cooling system started malfunctioning and the driver's side doesn't blow or temp the same as the passenger side. It has been like that at least 2 of the 4 years I have had this car and have taken it in multiple times and spent thousands of dollars to get it fixed and it is still not fixed and no one can seem to tell me the problem. My car also restarts itself and it won't turn off. A couple of months into getting the car, my car literally shut off while I was on the freeway and I had to pull over. Restart it. I took it in to Ford and they said it was fine. Throughout the last 4 years, my car has restart itself without me autostarting it! It is not a push start car! The engine won't turn off half the time when I take the key out or it turns off then restarts itself and it won't turn off. My car won't lock when it restarts itself. I have also taken my car in multiple times for the electrical system. Reading that there has been multiple complaints about a lot of the issues I am having with my car, not only is it a major safety hazard, but Ford should have done recalls. It is quite ridiculous that they haven't when they are aware of multiple cars having these same issues. I have almost caused several car accidents because of the electrical issues and I don't feel safe driving my vehicle. I shouldn't have to keep spending thousands of dollars and the issues aren't resolved or they keep saying they don't know. There is clearly a lot of faulty issues with the 2014 Ford Edge model and there needs some recalls that need to be issued. My car should not start slowing down automatically on the freeway then shut down. I have had to replace my battery and alternator in less than a year of owning it with only 40,000 miles of it. There have been way too many issues to have had less than 100,000 miles on it.
Three different occurrences of the engine shutting off. Twice while in park and once while stopped in a drive-thru.

The vehicle was restarted and regained proper functionality. The failure was intermittent but became more persistent and occurred whether the vehicle had been refueled. The contact stated while driving 55-60 MPH, the vehicle lost motive power and several attempts were needed to restart the vehicle and continue driving. The vehicle was taken to a certified mechanic who had replaced the Oxygen sensor twice, the purge valve once, and the EVAP twice; however, the failure persisted. The manufacturer was made aware of the failure. The manufacturer referred the contact to the NHTSA Hotline to report the failure. The failure mileage was 155,000.

Faulty Water Pump causing thousands of dollars to repair. There is a recall on same models and year my vehicle should also be on it. Stalled on hiway. Had to pay more money for tow. Repairs are more than car is worth. You have to take the top part of engine off to replace it.

The vehicle was not repaired. After investigating the failure, the contact related the failure to Customer Satisfaction Program: 13N03. I had my oil changed last year upon seeing some suspicious activity during this oil change at Walmart, they were dishonest and lied to my face about my skid plate missing bolts underneath. I told them there's is no way my mobile mechanic put all four back on last night after it fell off while driving. So they lied to me. I filled a complaint. My car started driving weird. Then about two weeks later my car while in park, out of no where wouldn't reverse the steering wheel way locked it hard to turn. And sounded like a broken garbage disposal. It wasn't drivable.i have a2014 Ford edge sel. I ended up having it towed to Ford dealership in Tustin and I remembered that I had just saw online fright before the oil change that there was recalls three online pee my vin in a search . I dropped the keys off at Ford and put the the recall numbers on the envelope going they could look at it. I was told over the phone what the issue was she is be about 1900.00 to replace. I told him there's no way it is that expensive. The party was about 200.00 and the job should only take about 1-2 hours of even that.I told him I was homeless sleeping out of my car with my daughter 5, at the time what are my options. I told him I had mechanical breakdown coverage he called me back saying the claim for coverage was denied when I had talked to them they were waiting for the dealership to call over with necessary repairs information. So I already knew he was being deceptive she and dishonest. I asked him to email me a list of itemized by repairs that needed to be done to the office so i could see what i could afford. Hey emailed me a blank email no list of repairs. I emailed him back telling him there's was no estimate and if he could resend it . No response. ong story longer dealership refused service to my vehicle. my harmonic balancer remains an issue after I replaced it myself and local shop did the timing. Powersteering pump has air in it. Steering wheel locks when driving. Loud sounds.
My car is in need of a new water pump. This is a known repair needed in Ford V6 3.5 & 3.7-liter engines 2012-19 Explorer, Taurus, Edge & more. The water pump is placed in the engine so that a simple 1 hr. repair takes 10-12 hrs of labor costing customers thousands of dollars. There is no reason for this to not be on the recall list!!!!! This is confirmed by Ford dealers. There is no warning that comes up until the part has already failed, also causing other parts of the engine to be repaired.
COOLANT LEAKING INTO ENGINE FROM FAULTY WATER PUMP CAUSING ENGINE FAILURE.
Damaged antifreeze pump this can cause a very severe overheating on the road, transfer box and transmission make a very uncomfortable noise when turning to both sides I don't feel safe when handling rear differential the same problem (I've already replaced it)
Upon stopping at intersection I began to accelerate to proceed through intersection and no warning light on dash came on as my vehicle wouldn’t go into drive. It barely rolled through and off to shoulder. When I tried to shift into park it wasn’t engaging or something, it just wouldn’t do anything so I lulled the engine and used emergency brake. This could have been a very big tragedy at this or any similar situation.
This has happened twice on my 2014 Ford Edge. Vehicle goes into limp mode without warning. Did not catch the message, was too busy trying not to get hit. No error codes found. Vehicle restarts and works fine after a short period of sitting. There are multiple reports of this going back 10+ years online. Ford says there is no problem. Computer chip failure? The contact stated that the failure had been reoccurring and the check engine warning light would illuminate intermittently. Additionally, the contact stated that the vehicle would fail to respond while driving and depressing the accelerator pedal. The contact stated that she would stop the vehicle and would shift to park(P). The contact would then shift to drive(D)and would depress the accelerator pedal again. However, the vehicle would respond with delay. The contact stated that the failure had been recurring more frequently. The contact stated that the vehicle failed to respond while depressing the accelerator pedal and then stalled. The vehicle was towed to an independent mechanic where it was diagnosed that the high velocity fuel pump needed to be replaced. The dealer and the manufacturer were notified of the failure and informed the contact that the vehicle could not be repaired under NHTSA Campaign Number: 15V005000 (Fuel System, Gasoline) as the VIN was not included. The vehicle was not repaired. The failure mileage was approximately 100,000.

It started with something with the battery saver no dash lights respond to the key turning on of had keys programmed I’ll change the ECU I change the main harness the dash harness the engine harness all from Ford ignition switch steering column module BCM I don’t know I don’t understand I need to get this issue fixed it’s almost been seven months no vehicle I’m still paying a $450 note on it and I can’t get back to work without a vehicle Something got to shake I got no money bring it to no dealer. I’ve changed to batteries since the incidence just because to try it nothings worked if anybody knows any info don’t hesitate to contact me
Driving down the hwy, lost all acceleration. Engine still alive, had power, radio, air etc Had to coast to the side of the road. Restarted car after a few minutes and problem resolved. Took to dealer but they could not find a code. Suggested replacing throttle body as possible solution based on how often they see this.

REPLACED OIL PRESSURE SENSOR ON 06/20/2019, 2 DAYS LATER WHILE DRIVING STRAIGHT ON CITY STREET, VEHICLE LOST ALL POWER AGAIN AND OIL PRESSURE LOW WARNING AND OIL PRESSURE LIGHT CAME ON AGAIN. VEHICLE LOST ALL POWER. TURNED OFF VEHICLE AND RESTARTED, ALL LIGHTS EXTINGUISHED AGAIN. REAR BRAKE LIGHTS NO LONGER FUNCTION (UPPER ON ONE SIDE, LOWER ON OTHER) BULBS ARE NOT BLOWN AND FUSE APPEARS FUNCTIONAL.

I TURNED THE ENGINE OFF, WAITED A MINUTE BEFORE RESTARTING, THE WRENCH LIGHT WENT OFF AND ENGINE RAN NORMALLY FOR THE NEXT FEW DAYS. HOWEVER, WITHIN THE WEEK, THE SAME THING HAPPENED AGAIN.

DRIVING IN NORMAL CONDITIONS VEHICLE WILL LOOSE POWER AND THE WRENCH LIGHT WILL COME ON PULL OVER TURN VEHICLE OFF AND BACK ON IT DRIVES WITH NO ISSUES
FORD EDGE WITH 58,000 MILES WAS BEING DRIVEN BY WIFE. WHILE TRAVELING AT 50-55 MILES PER HOUR, THE VEHICLE SHOWED A WRENCH ICON AND DECELERATED IMMEDIATLY TO 5MPH IN THE MIDDLE OF RUSH HOUR TRAFFIC IN THE LEFT LANE. THE LOSS OF POWER PUT THE CAR INTO LIMP MODE WHERE MY WIFE HAD TO TRY TO GET TO THE SIDE OF THE ROAD. THE IGNITION WAS TURNED OFF, THEN BACK ON AND THE CAR DROVE FINE AFTERWARDS. THE SUDDEN LOSS OF PROPULSION IS VERY SCARY ESPICALLY RIGHT AFTER DROPPING YOUR 1 YEAR OLD OFF AT DAYCARE WHO COULD HAVE BEEN IN THE CAR. WE HAVE RESEARCHED THIS AND FOUND MANY OTHER VEHICLES WITH THIS DEFECT POSSIBLY THROTTLE BODY. AFTER TURNING THE CAR OFF, ALL CODES WERE ERASED SO THE ONLY WAY TO GET THE CAR CHECKED FOR THE ISSUE WOULD BE TO STRAIGHT FROM FORD "DRIVE UNTIL THE ERROR HAPPENS AGAIN".

EVERY TIME I ACCELERATE HARD TO REACH HIGHWAY SPEEDS, THE EXHAUST LEAKS INTO THE CABIN CAUSING BREATHING PROBLEMS AND DROWSINESS. THIS IS A COMMON ISSUE AND THE FORD DEALERSHIP DOES NOT SEEM TO WANT TO COVER THE COSTS OF THIS SAFETY ISSUE.

THIS IS THE SAME ACTION ASSOCIATED WITH THE WELL DOCUMENTED THROTTLE BODY PROBLEM FORD HAS HAD WITH OTHER MODELS. ONCE OFF THE ROAD, MOTOR WAS SHUT OFF AND RESTARTED WHICH MADE THE PROBLEM GO AWAY BUT UNFORTUNATELY ERASED ANY ERROR CODES THAT MAY HAVE BEEN GENERATED.

ENTERING TOWN, DRIVING STRAIGHT AND LEVEL ALONG ROAD IN CLEAR WEATHER, DRY SMOOTH ROAD ABOUT 30 MPH. ENGINE SUDDENLY QUIT - DEAD. COASTED INTO (FORTUNATE) PARKING LOT. NOTED BRIGHT RED OIL PRESSURE LIGHT CAME ON WHILE COASTING - OTHER LIGHTS ALSO BUT COULD NOT READ THEM DUE TO STRESSFUL SITUATION. CHECKED OIL LEVEL IN PARKING LOT - FULL AND NORMAL. TRIED STARTING ENGINE - STARTED RIGHT UP WITH NO PROBLEM. STARTED AND STOPPED ENGINE SEVERAL TIMES - ALL WITH NO PROBLEM. CAUTIOUSLY CONTINUED DRIVING IN GALVESTON AND RETURNED BACK TO DEALERSHIP NEAR HOME. NO FURTHER PROBLEMS WITH ENGINE. DEALERSHIP SERVICE COULD FIND NO PROBLEM AND HAD NO REAL IDEA WHAT CAUSED ENGINE TO SUDDENLY DIE WHILE DRIVING. PROBLEM HAS NOT REPEATED - YET.

IT THEN AT THE SAME MOMENT SLOWED DOWN FROM 50 TO 0 WITHIN ABOUT 50 FEET AND COMPLETELY LOST POWER STEERING ALMOST CAUSING A FATAL CRASH WITH A CHILD IN THE CAR. THE VEHICLE IS BACK AT THE DEALERSHIP WHERE IT WAS PURCHASED AT AND HAS BEEN EVALUATED FOR MALFUNCTIONS. ALTHOUGH THE DEALERSHIP SERVICE HAS NOT SAID ANYTHING ABOUT WHAT HAPPEN OR WHAT THE PROBLEM WAS AND I FEEL EXTREMELY UNCOMFORTABLE EVEN GOING SOMEWHERE WITH MY FAMILY KNOWING THIS HAS HAPPEN ONCE. I NEED TO HAVE THIS PROBLEM RECTIFIED BEFORE A FATAL CRASH TAKES ME AND MY FAMILY OUT. WHAT CAN WE DO ABOUT GETTING A RECALL ON THIS?
