Oct 1, 2025 Crash

- Breaks did not work and caused me to be in an accident. Date of accident 8/15. -called Ford the week prior to accident to ask if there was a recall because my break light came on. She told me there was not and they didn’t have the part in stock to repair it if it was. I told her I would try to add fluid and that seemed to work and the light turned off, unless I used my parking break. So I only parked on flat areas until it was ready to be fixed and didn’t use the parking break, but that time never came. After that, I got into the accident on 8/15 and even reported to my insurance (Kemper auto) that my car wouldn’t break even though I was far back enough to break without incident but the car just wouldn’t stop. My right tire is bent and my left tire is popped so now I’m unable to drive it to the dealer if the part comes in.

Jun 26, 2025

Brake pedal sank to the floor while driving. Pressure resumed temporarily. Brake fluid continued to leak aftrr being parked. This is third incident of this occurance.

May 5, 2025

Brake line has ruptured causing brakes to fail while driving for the second time in 2 years. I was almost killed in both of these incidents as it happened suddenly while on the road. The first one was fixed under a recall but it has happened again with no support from ford. this is dangerous and should be looked into.

Apr 2, 2025

Brake hose failure causing loss of braking ability. Confirmed by independent service center that brake hose ruptured and required repaired. No warning lamps or messages. Braking required holding pedal all the way to the floor. Occurred today, 04/02/2025.

Nov 19, 2024

As I was leaving a parking deck and heading toward the exit gate, I applied the brakes, but the pedal went all the way to the floor. I had to pump the brakes repeatedly to stop. After driving a short distance, the problem persisted, so I parked my car and left it overnight. The next morning when getting the car, I noticed a wet spot near the rear driver-side tire. Upon checking, I found that the brake fluid reservoir was empty, so I refilled it with brake fluid. The vehicle has since been repaired by an independent mechanic and was not inspected by a Ford representative or anyone else besides the mechanic. I don’t recall seeing any warning notifications during the incident but the inspection report indicates a brake code error.

Sep 3, 2024

There is a hissing noise coming from the brake pedal. The noise goes away when the brake pedal is compressed then comes back on as the brake pedal is released. The hissing sound is constant and very bothersome. No issues with braking the car so far. Have had this issue since I bought the car about 5 years ago in 2019 and was told there is no issues with the brakes. Didn't want to spend out of pocket money so have lived with that since, but now the sound is much louder and very bothersome. This is not a normal wear and tear. Ford should issue a recall for this. Have reached out to both dealership and ford customer service and they haven't been helpful.

Mar 6, 2024

First my front right brake line severed in 2023. I took it to Les Schwab and had it repaired and I paid for it. Later, I found out it was part of a "Recall". The local Ford Dealer said they could not reimburse me for my repair cost due to timing issues. However, they replaced both front brake lines (even though the right side had already been recently replaced). Yesterday, my rear brake line is severely damaged and leaking brake fluid and my brakes are "soft". This is not not safe. Why were only the front brake lines recalled? What about the rear brake lines? Les Schwab is trying to repair my car. They can't get a new rear brake line. They contacted Ford and were told the rear brake line comes from Minnesota and that there are none in stock in western US. According to Ford it has to be ordered and will take 2 weeks. I called several Ford numbers for Customer Service and support. They are not willing to help me out. I was told I would have to bring my car to a Ford Dealer and have it diagnosed by Ford before they could order the rear brake line. It takes 2 weeks to get an appointment. Then once Ford diagnoses my car, they will order the part which would take another 2 weeks. I can't drive my car for one month with bad brakes.! I need my vehicle to go to work. If Ford knows the front brake lines are inferior and sub par and thus subject to a recall, how can they ignore the back brake lines? How can the recall only be limited to front brakes? Furthermore, I should not have 2 separate brake lines fail on me on the same car. This is a safety issue. Why is it so difficult to get a replacement rear brake line? Something needs to be done. This is unacceptable.

Dec 22, 2023

Brake line that was recalled and repaired ruptured and is causing a brake fluid leak and increased pedal travel, increased braking distance, and overall unsafe driving conditions

Nov 19, 2023

The brake fluid is leaking rapidly. The brakes will work fine and them 30 minutes late, upon restarting the vehicle, the brakes are extremely spongey and it takes a very, very long time to brake at all. Because it occurs suddenly and without warning and no warning lights display on the dash to anticipate the issue, pedestrians are most at risk, in Ashton to putting myself and other drivers and property owners at risk of being struck.

Jun 27, 2023

My brake lights are not turning off. Upon inspection of the brake light switch attached to the pedal, I saw a plastic part (washer) that had broken in half. I believe it is the same issue that affected other 2014-15 Ford models. (https://www.freep.com/story/money/cars/ford/2022/01/19/ford-recall-brakes-fusion-lincoln-mkz/6580413001/)

When approaching a stop light the breaks felt less resistant and would not engage properly. Luckily we had just left home so we turned around and took a different vehicle. When we came back home there was a puddle of break fluid under the rear right tire and the break fluid reservoir was empty. Since there was already a recall in the front break hoses we are concerned there is a fault with the rear break hoses.

I had a sudden loss of brakes. As I applied the brakes for an up coming stop sign the brakes initially engaged and briefly slowed the car as the brake petal continued to the floor. Only after pumping the pedal was I able to completely stop. No warning light was ever displayed. Service was accomplished and it was determined that a right rear brake line had suddenly failed. I believe this to be a serious threat to safety. This vehicle now has 63,166 miles on it and has been garage kept and never exposed to salt or other corrosive material for any length of time. Thank You.

Jul 26, 2022

While driving my 2015 Ford edge my brakes went completely out almost causing me to slam into the vehicle ahead of me. My brake fluid was completely gone. I had previously called about the recall as stated in the letter months ago and was told the parts were not available and I would be contacted as soon as they are. I was never told NOT TO DRIVE my car. This is my only means of transportation and now they are saying parts are in but there is a possible 2 to 3mnth wait period with no loaners available. This is unacceptable and Ford cus service hasn't been any help.

LEFT REAR BRAKE LINE RUPTURED; RESULTING IN CATASTROPHIC BRAKE FAILURE.

Oct 21, 2021

Originally got recall notice in May 2021. Called my Ford dealership and they said they could not repair because they did not currently have the parts. Called again a few months later and made an appointment - day before appointment the dealership called to cancel because they still did not have parts. On September 14th my brake lights went on and I could not brake properly, they were very spongy. I brought my car to my mechanic and he said the brake fluid was leaking and the hose had to be replaced, and that the car was undrivable. Called my dealership and the manager agreed to reimburse my mechanic's repairs, along with the rental car I needed. After the car was fixed the manager went back on his word and denied promising reimbursement, and now I am out $266.75 for repairs and $647.93 for the car rental

Sep 23, 2021

Brake flexible hoses split and brake fluid leaked, causing brakes to become unusable. Light came on indicating low brake fluid level on 9/14/21. Service manager at local Ford dealership confirmed on the phone that my mechanic could fix it and I would be repaid, but now he is denying my refund.

I received a letter from Ford Motor Company in September 2020 noting the recall and that I would be notified by mail when the parts are available. Received second letter from Ford Motor Company in May 2021 that the parts are available and to contact a local dealership for scheduling repair. I contacted Bill Estes Ford in Brownsburg, IN who stated that they would order the parts as they didn't have them in stock. I followed up in June 2021 to a report the parts are on backorder and again July 14, 2021 and July 26, 2021 with same response that parts are backordered. July 14, 2021 contacted Ford Motor Company and established a case number which they stated would help force the parts order process and that I should contact the Service Manager at Bill Estes Ford Brownsburg, IN within 7 days to see if they have received the parts. I contacted Bill Estes Ford on July 26, 2021 and was told the parts are still on backorder with an unknown date of delivery. I then contacted Ford Motor Company Customer Service to check the status of my case submitted on the July 14, 2021 and was told the parts are on backorder. My wife is very concerned about the brake system which could fail on this vehicle and it appears that Ford Motor Company (Almost 1 year after notifying me of the recall) still cannot complete the required repair.

This is the second time in a year that the brakes in our vehicle have stopped working. The pedal goes all the way to the ground and does not completely stop the car. We had the issue dealt with last year at the dealership where we had our vehicle towed to. It was only then that we were notified that there was a recall on the hose that may affect the brakes and other functions of the vehicle. It was replaced. This has now happened a second time while my husband and 2.5 year old were driving home. If he was not able to have some control over the vehicle he and my child could have been killed or someone else on the road. I called the dealership to let them know that the car would be towed again and told the issue. They confirmed we dealt with this same issue just one year ago and I asked why is this happening and this is so unacceptable as my family's safety is at risk. I asked if there are any recalls or issues with the make and model that we should be aware of. After looking up the vehicle she then informed us there was indeed a recall for the flex hose which could cause leaks and affect the brakes. The vehicle is currently at the dealership being inspected. Due to where the leak is coming from it seems to be the left side of the vehicle now which tells me the dealership only replaced one of the hoses and not both causing this to happen again. This is negligence and I am beyond frustrated at the thought of what could have happened and I don't think waiting until someone is killed is the right time to fix this issue. There were no warning lamps, messages or symptoms prior to the failure, it just happened while driving and trying to stop.

I GOT THE RECALL LETTER EARLY 2020, THE FIX WAS SUPPOSED TO BE AVAILIABLE NEAR THE END OF 2020 AND HERE IT IS ALMOST MID 2021 WITH NO FIX OR ANOTHER LETTER TO SCHEDULE THE FIX. MY BRAKE PEDAL IS TRAVELLING FURTHER THAN IT SHOULD AND IT LOOKS TO BE LEAKING BRAKE FLUID A BIT ON THE GROUND

May 4, 2021

AS I WAS PULLING OUT OF A PARKING SPOT MY BRAKE PEDAL WENT ALL THE WAY TO THE FLOOR BOARD. I WAS TRAVELING WITH MY CHILD AT THE TIME AND BEING UNSURE OF WHAT WAS GOING ON I DROVE THE VEHICLE ACROSS A BRIDGE BACK TO MY COUNTY TO THE CLOSEST REPAIR FACILITY I COULD GET TOO. I HAD BARELY MISSED HITTING THE VEHICLE AHEAD OF ME SINCE IT WOULD NOT STOP ALL THE WAY. AFTER THE TECH CHECKED IT OUT, IT WAS LEAKING BRAKE FLUID AND THE HOSE WAS BUSTED. HAD IT TOWED TO THE FORD DEALERSHIP SINCE IT SHOULD HAD BEEN COVERED UNDER WARRANTY. THEN FOUND OUT IT WAS A RECALL THAT WE HAVE NEVER RECEIVED ANY DOCUMENTATION ABOUT. THIS IS UNSATISFACTORY SINCE IT PUT MYSELF AND MY CHILD IN DANGER .

IF THIS IS NOT A SERIOUS ISSUE, THEN PLEASE REASSURE ME THAT IT REALLY DOESN'T NEED A CORRECTION, AND THAT WE ARE NOT DRIVING A MOBILE TIME BOMB. I CURRENTLY HAVE A RECALL ON THE BRAKE LINES OF MY VEHICLE. THE PARTS WERE SUPPOSED TO BE READY, HOWEVER WE ARE STILL WAITING FOR THE REMEDY.

TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2015 FORD EDGE. THE CONTACT STATED THAT WHILE HIS DAUGHTER WAS DRIVING AT AN UNKNOWN RATE OF SPEED, THE BRAKE PEDAL DEPRESSED TO THE FLOORBOARD BUT THE VEHICLE DID NOT REDUCE IN SPEED; THEREFORE, SHE WAS FORCED TO APPLY HER EMERGENCY BRAKE TO STOP THE VEHICLE. THE CONTACT WAS UNCERTAIN IF ANY WARNING LIGHTS APPEARED ON THE INSTRUMENT PANEL. DUE TO THE FAILURE, HIS DAUGHTER HAD THE VEHICLE TOWED TO VETERANS FORD(7201 W LINEBAUGH AVE, TAMPA, FL 33625) WHERE THEY REPLACED HER MASTER BRAKE CYLINDER AS WELL AS HER BRAKE LINE. THE CONTACT THEN RECEIVED A RECALL NOTICE FOR NHTSA CAMPAIGN NUMBER: 20V469000(SERVICE BRAKES, SERVICE BRAKES, HYDRAULIC) HOWEVER THE PARTS FOR THE REPAIR WERE UNAVAILABLE. LATER ON, THE CONTACT'S DAUGHTER EXPERIENCED THE FAILURE FOR A SECOND TIME AND AGAIN HAD THE VEHICLE TOWED BACK TO THE SAME DEALER WHERE THEY LINKED HER FAILURE TO THE RECALL; HOWEVER, THE PARTS STILL REMAINED UNAVAILABLE. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOTIFIED OF THE FAILURE AND THE CONTACT WAS GIVEN A CASE NUMBER. THE VEHICLE HAD YET TO BE REPAIRED AND REMAINED IN THE POSSESSION OF THE DEALER. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS APPROXIMATELY 87,000. VIN TOOL CONFIRMS PARTS NOT AVAILABLE.

MANUFACTURER RECALL NUMBER 20S42. BRAKE FLUID MAY LEAK FROM ONE OR BOTH FRONTBRAKE FLEXIBLE HOSES. PARTS ARE ANTICIPATED TO BEAVAILABLE 4TH QUARTER 2020. SAFETY RISK YOU MAY EXPERIENCE AN INCREASE IN PEDAL TRAVEL TOGETHER WITH A REDUCTION INTHE RATE OF DECELERATION, INCREASING THE RISK OF A CRASH. ASED ON THE FACT THAT THERE IS IN INCREASED RISK OF ACRASH FORD HAS MISSED THE TIMING OF PARTS AVAILABLE AND HAS OFFERED NO LOANER CAR BASED ON THEIR DELIQUENCY. I FIND THIS TOBE UNACCEPTABLE AND PUTS MY FAMILY AT RISK OF A CRASH FOR ATIME OUTSIDE OF THE NOTICE POSTED ON NHTSA'S WEB SITE.

THE FRONT BRAKES ARE EXTREMELY TOUCHY, PERIODICALLY WHEN COMING TO A STOP. WHEN YOU JUST IMMEDIATELY TOUCH THE BRAKES IT LOW-SPEED THE CAR COMES TO A JERKING STOP. I READ ONLINE THERE IS A RECALL DUE TO SOME IMPROPER SOFTWARE BEING INSTALLED DURING THE TIMEFRAME MY CAR WAS MANUFACTURED. I WOULD THINK THIS COULD ABSOLUTELY CONTRIBUTE TO THE PROBLEM. EVER SINCE I PURCHASED A VEHICLE I'VE COMPLAINED TO THE DEALER AND THEY TOLD ME THERE'S NO PROBLEM. I AM A PROFESSIONAL DRIVER, I DRIVE FOR WORK I'VE DRIVEN OVER 2,000,000 MILES IN MY LIFE AND I KNOW WHAT I'M HAVING BRAKE ISSUES. I WENT TO THE DEALER ABOUT THE ONLINE NOTIFICATION AND THEY TOLD ME THE ONLY RECALL IS FOR BRAKE HOSES AND THEY HAVE NOTHING FOR ANTI-LOCK SOFTWARE ISSUES. COULD SOMEBODY PLEASE CLEAR THIS UP FOR ME AS I CAN'T EVEN USE THIS VEHICLE TO TEACH MY DAUGHTERS HOW TO DRIVE BECAUSE THE BRAKES ARE SO UNPREDICTABLY TOUCHY. MEETING SOMETIMES THEY'RE FINE AND OTHER TIMES THEY ARE NOT, USUALLY WHEN YOU LEAST EXPECT IT. THANK YOU

MY BREAKS ARE SUPER SENSITIVE. JUST TAPPING THE BREAK AT SLOW SPEEDS WILL CAUSE IT TO LOCK UP THE BREAKS. AT HIGH SPEEDS IT IS A LITTLE BETTER BUT STILL HAVE TO CONSTANTLY ADJUST THE AMOUNT OF PRESSURE APPLIED TO AVOID SKID/ABS FROM KICKING IN. BROUGHT TO DEALER FOR REPAIRS AND THEY REPLACED BREAK BOOSTER PART B. THAT DID NOT CORRECT THE ISSUE. HAS BEEN LIKE THIS SINCE I BOUGHT IT IN 2019. I WAS TOLD "IT WAS A BREAK FLAP". NO SUCH THING. MY BROTHER HAS A VEHICLE FROM SAME MANUFACTURER SAME YEAR DIFFERENT MAKE AND THE MASTER CYLINDER WAS RECALLED AND THAT CORRECTED HIS ISSUE. HAVING BREAKS THAT YOU CAN'T TRUST IS A HORRIBLE FEELING EVEN WORSE HEADING INTO WINTER. IS THIS A COMMON ISSUE FOR 2015 FORD EDGES? BECAUSE THIS IS LEAVING ME WITH BAD FEELINGS TOWARD FORD MORTOR COMPANY.

WHILE DRIVING 9/10/2020 ON LOCAL STREET APPROX 35MPH BRAKE PEDAL WENT TO FLOOR, NEEDED TO PUMP BRAKES TO SLOW DOWN. REPLACED BRAKE LINE AT MR. TIRE. THIS WAS LEFT REAR BRAKE LINE THAT RUPTURED. VEHICLE WAS AT FORD DEALER FOR BRAKE CHECK 8/6/2020 AND PASSED INSPECTION. ON 12/8/2019 SAME THING HAPPENED TO LEFT FRONT BRAKE. FORD ISSUED A RECALL TODAY ON FRONT BRAKE LINE. I CALLED AND WAS TOLD I SHOULD RECEIVE RECALL LETTER IN A FEW WEEKS FOR FRONT BRAKE LINE. I FEEL UNCOMFORTABLE DRIVING A CAR WITH DEFECTIVE BRAKES. NO RESOLUTION AS OF TODAY. CALLED FORD DEALER & HOTLINE AND WAS TOLD TO WAIT FOR LETTER BEFORE TAKING ACTION.

SERVICE ADVANCE TRAC LIGHT, HILL START ASSIST, TRACTION CONTROL, WRENCH LIGHT, AIRBAG LIGHT AND BREAK LIGHT ALL COME ONE SIMULTANEOUSLY. GETS STUCK ON PARKING BREAK WHILE IN PARK AND POWER STEERING GOES OUT WHILE DRIVING. SPENT OVER $700 WITH LOCAL FOR DEALERSHIP TRYING TO FIX IT. AFTER IT BEING IN THE SHOP THE FOR 3 WEEKS THE SAME THING STARTED HAPPENING A FEW HOURS AFTER PICKUP. THE DEALERSHIP CLAIMS THAT FORD KNOWS ABOUT THE ISSUE BUT THEIR ISN'T JUST A ONE ALL FIX ALL. OTHER FORD MODELS HAS HAD THE SAME ISSUES IN THE PAST AND HAD RECALLS ON THEM. NEED THIS ISSUE FIXED!! IT'S BEEN LIKE THIS SINCE THE DAY THAT I PURCHASED IT (8/13/2019) FROM THE BIG RED KIA IN NORMAN.

BOOSTER BRAKE DEFECT. THERE IS A RECALL BUT MY VIN # IS NOT ON THE LIST. IT SHOULD BE. I HAD MY CAR TOWED TO THE DEALERSHIP FOR REPAIR. THE BRAKES DELAYED STOPPING MY CAR. I COULD NOT DRIVE IT. MY CAR VIN SHOULD BE ADDED TO THE RECALL. I AM GOING TO HAVE TO PAY FOR REPAIR BECAUSE IT IS NOT ADDED TO THE RECALL LIST BUT THE PROBLEM IS THERE. I SHOULD NOT HAVE TO PAY FOR THIS REPAIR. IF MY VIN IS ADDED LATER, WILL I BE REIMBURSED ? WHEN I PRESS THE BRAKE THE PEDAL IS HARD. THE VEHICLE SLOWS BUT DOES NOT STOP WHEN IT SHOULD. IF YOU PUMP THE BRAKE IT SOUNDS LIKE THE ROTORS SOUND WHEN BRAKE PADS ARE BAD. THE CAR POPS AND SCRUBS, JERKS TO A STOP. WHEN COMING UP TO A STOP SIGN OR RED LIGHT THE CAR TAKES LONGER TO STOP SO YOU HAVE TO BRAKE SOONER. I TOOK TO DEALERSHIP, PARTS WHERE ORDERED TO REPAIR. STILL WAITING TO SEE IF I HAVE TO PAY!

GRABBING BRAKES - KNOWN BRAKE BOOSTER ISSUE - BRAKES GRAB A LOW SPEEDS AND IF YOU DON'T RELAX YOUR FOOT ON THE BRAKE PEDAL THE BRAKES COULD LOCK UP CAUSING AN UNSAFE CONDITION. THE FOLLOWING INFORMATION IS REFERENCED - NHTSA #10081005. IN SOME CASES VIA FORUM COMMENTS, THE BRAKE BOOSTER WAS REPLACED AND THE PROBLEM WAS SOLVED HOWEVER, THIS IS NOT APPLIED CONSISTENTLY ACROSS FORD DEALERSHIP SERVICE DEPARTMENTS (AUTONATION FORD LITTLETON). THIS HAS BEEN AN ONGOING ISSUE SINCE WE PURCHASED THE VEHICLE NEW AT THE DEALERSHIP NOTED ABOVE

2015 FORD EDGE WITH 45, 250 MILES. I WAS DRIVING ALONG AND WENT TO APPLY MY BRAKES. THE PEDAL WENT TO THE FLOOR. I WAS APPROACHING A RED LIGHT. I PUMPED AND PUMBER TO SLOW DOWN. AT THAT TIME, THE BRAKE LIGHT AND THE LOW BRAKE FLUID LIGHTS CAME ON. I HAD NO BRAKES. I HAD TO PULL THE ELECTRIC BARKING BRAKE UP TO STOP. I HAD TO TRAVEL A LITTLE WAYS MORE AND MAKE A U-TURN IN THE MIDDLE OF A 4 LANE BUSY , MAJOR HIGHWAY, IN ORDER TO GET TO A SHOPPING CENTER PARKING LOT. THERE AGAIN NO BRAKES - HAD TO USE MY ELECTRIC PARKING. I WAS SO AFRAID. I AM JUST THANKFUL I THOUGHT OF THE HAND BRAKE, WHICH ALMOST THREW US IN THE WINDSHEILD. IT WAS SUCH A HARD STOP. I CALLED ROADSIDE ASSISTANCE TO GET THE CAR AND TOW THE DEALERSHIP. THEY HAVE VERIFIED, BRAKE LINE BUSTED ON MY CAR. IT HAS A SPLIT IN IT. I PURCHASED THE CAR NEW FROM THE DEALERSHIP. I BELIEVE THIS IS A VERY SERIOUS MATTER. BRAKE LINE BUSTED ON SOMETHING WITH THAT LOW OF MILES.

TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2015 FORD EDGE. WHILE DRIVING APPROXIMATELY 35 MPH, THE VEHICLE EXPERIENCED A LOSS OF THROTTLE RESPONSE WHEN DEPRESSING THE ACCELERATOR PEDAL, AND FAILED TO ACCELERATE PROPERLY. AFTER SHUTTING THE ENGINE OFF AND BACK ON, THE VEHICLE OPERATED NORMALLY. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO THE DEALER (FRIENDLY FORD IN LAS VEGAS, NV) AND A MODULE WAS REPLACED. AFTER THE REPAIR WAS PERFORMED, THE VEHICLE IDLED VERY HIGHLY UNTIL THE ENGINE WARMED UP. ALSO, THE BRAKES WOULD NOT FUNCTION PROPERLY. THE DRIVER WAS UNABLE TO GRADUALLY STOP THE VEHICLE. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN BACK TO THE DEALER, BUT NO FAILURES WERE FOUND. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOTIFIED OF THE FAILURES. THE VIN WAS NOT AVAILABLE. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 4,000.

BREAKS I TRIED BREAKING WHILE APPROACHING A STOP LIGHT BUT MY CAR REFUSED TO STOP. LUCKILY THERE WAS NOBODY IN FRONT OF ME, BUT IT TOOK ME ABOUT 2 OR 3X THE AMOUNT OF TIME I'M USED TO, TO MAKE A COMPLETE STOP. THERE'S A HISSING NOISE NOW WHEN I PRESS ON THE BREAK AND I HAVE TO PUT DOWN A LOT OF PRESSURE ON THE PEDAL IN ORDER TO STOP. I DON'T KNOW IF IT HAS ANYTHING TO DO WITH THE RECALL ISSUED IN NOVEMBER BUT THIS IS DANGEROUS.

BRAKES SQUEAK LOUDLY WHEN THE WEATHER IS HOT OR AFTER DRIVING THE CAR FOR 45 AND RETURNING TO THE CAR TO DRIVE AFTER AN HOUR OR TWO OF NOT DRIVING. THE BRAKES BECOME TOUCHY AND BITE WHEN RETURNING TO DRIVE AFTER THE CAR SITS FOR AN HOUR OR SO. WHEN STOPPING SUDDENLY AT ANY TIME, THE BRAKES BITE SEVERELY. PADS HAVE ALREADY BEEN REPLACED WITHIN THE FIRST YEAR. HELPED BUT DID NOT SOLVE THE PROBLEM. BRAKES ALSO FEEL AS IF THEY ARE GRINDING WHEN RETURNING TO DRIVE THE CAR AFTER IT SITS FOR AN HOUR OR SO, AFTER HAVING DROVE FOR 45 MINUTES OR SO. AT TIMES THE BRAKES WILL SQUEAK AND BITE FIRST THING IN THE MORNING. DEALER HAS REPLACED THE PADS, NOTED THE BITING, BUT THE PROBLEM STILL EXISTS.

WHILE DRIVING AT 70 MPH ON A BUSY STRETCH OF HIGHWAY, THE VEHICLE JERKED SLIGHTLY, A NOTIFICATION LIGHT (ORANGE WRENCH) CAME ON SAYING TO CHECK THE OWNER'S MANUAL, AND THE ACCELERATOR CEASED TO FUNCTION. I WAS ABLE TO NAVIGATE THE CAR SAFELY TO THE SHOULDER; HOWEVER, THE BRAKING FELT STRAINED AND THERE WAS NO ABILITY TO THROTTLE THE ENGINE AT ANY POINT. UPON STOPPING ANOTHER NOTIFICATION POPPED UP SAYING THAT "HILL ASSIST UNAVAILABLE". ONCE STOPPED, I TURNED THE ENGINE OFF AND LET THE CAR SIT FOR A COUPLE OF MINUTES. THE CAR RESTARTED (ALBEIT ROUGHLY), AND I WAS ABLE TO DRIVE HOME SAFELY. THE CAR IS CURRENTLY AT THE FORD DEALER WHERE THE VEHICLE WAS PURCHASED. NO UPDATE HAS BEEN PROVIDED. THE ONLY FEEDBACK WE'VE GOTTEN WAS THAT THEY MAY "FIND NOTHING". THIS IS A VERY SERIOUS PROBLEM, AND I DO NOT BELIEVE THE VEHICLE IS SAFE TO OPERATE WITHOUT IDENTIFYING AND REPAIRING THIS ISSUE.

5TH STALL 5/16/2016 TURNED LEFT ONTO THE I-90 ON RAMP, HIT THE GAS AND AT ~40 MPH THE CAR SHUDDERED AND WENT INTO LIMP HOME MODE. PULLED SAFELY TO THE SHOULDER AND RAN THE VEHICLE HEALTH REPORT. THE REPORT SHOWS ISSUES WITH HILL ASSIST AND SAFETY RESTRAINTS. (29,359)
