*The weatherstripping on the Ford edge has been an ongoing issue since new and there should be a formal recall. The noise from the freeway is extensive and the weatherstripping needs constant attention. *If you search ford edge weather stripping issues, there's a gazillion forums with people with the same issues. This needs to be a formal recall so that I don't have to keep replacing or adjusting my weather stripping or having it hang loose driving down the freeways.

In june of 2022, the vehicle was exhibiting symptoms of hard to start especially after refueling, stalling, and poor drivability and the check engine light was illuminated.This vehicle was taken to local ford dealer (dowling ford- cheshire, ct) and diagnosed as a faulty fuel vapor separator (aka purge valve/solenoid) Ford part # f2gz-9d289-a. The dealer performed diagnosis/repair/replacement of this part at a total cost of approximately $600. The problem appeared to have been fixed, but now on 10/15/2024 the same issue re-appeared, and once again the dealer has determined same part has failed and now will cost $729 for diag/repair/replacement. This repair is just outside of the 2 year parts and labor warranty provided by ford and/or dealer. According to my online research this is a well known and common problem with these vehicles as well as many other similar ford vehicles which a recall HAS been issued for, and driver/occupant safety is gravely affected because this issue can cause stalling, poor throttle response, inability to start, and general poor driveability which seriously affects safety and cause a crash or cause driver to be unable to avoid a crash or other danger. Ford motor co and ford dealer refuses to accept responsibility for this issue and will not offer any assistance for repair. As of 10/29/24 the vehicle has not been repaired yet, and vehicle and parts are available for inspection.

My 2015 Ford Edge was in my garage. I opened the garage door to leave and started the vehicle. It said my hatchback was open . I got out to shut it and left the driver door open. Upon closing the hatch my vehicle began rolling backwards. I was hit in the leg and shoulder while getting out of the way of the car. I also sustained cuts on my hand from the open car door. We have a steep approach to our garage and live on an acreage with timber. The vehicle rolled down the approach to the garage and into and through the timber before it hit a tree big enough to stop it. At the body shop the repairman said he moved the car and put it in park and got out but the car then began rolling back on him as well. He was able to get in and stop it. Insurance has declared the car a total loss. I saw some 2015 edge vehicles had recalls for possibly rolling after being put in park. The NHTSA campaign id is 22v413000. My VIN number was not included in the recall so I wanted to report it in case it should have been.

I’m not a car expert. However, this suv has been rusting for some time in (1) one spot. Why? Because there seems to be a manufacture defect in or on the door body structure. I am concerned that the rust my be effecting my safety when driving and May fall off eventually. Causing injury. I can not get an explanation from FORD as the why this is happening! Other than it must be a manufacturer issue/defect etc.

Moonroof stuck open. Motor will not work. Cannot close moonroof or shade. I had to use a tarp to cover the hole in the roof until I could get it to the dealer to close the roof. They charged me $114.40 plus tax. They advised I not try to open it again because it may never close. Sea Breeze Ford mechanic told me the repair would be between $2K and $7K. This is outrageous. My personal mechanic said I should contact Ford directly for a resolution. I did and they said there is nothing they can do since there is no recall at the moment. I am now contacting your department for help.

Our vehicle was making very loud noises and the cooling fan kept running. We took the car to the Ford Dealership as it has some recalls that needed to be fixed and we needed some general maintenance performed. The dealer let us know that the water pump had a crack and needed to be repaired immediately. I looked online and it appears that this is a known issues with Ford vehicles. This was a very costly repair because they had to take out the engine to be able to reach the water pump. We were advised that if this was not repaired the leak could reach the engine and cause total failure. I received a Customer Satisfaction Program Notice in June 2023 #22N12 regarding the flex plate, transmission fluid pump and torque converter but the 100% coverage ended on 2/28/23. I was told by Ford on 7/3/23 that I should have received the notification in September 2022 but I did not. The representative told me that others have reported same problem in the last week or so. The Complaint number given to me by Ford is CAS43676484. I also submitted another complaint with nhtsa.gov number 11530072. I am unable to pay for this repair due to being on SS Disability since 2017 and also becoming a widow on 2/12/22. Please contact me with any available assistance with these issues which I was not properly notified of and am suffering hardship due to problems known by Ford with my vehicle I purchased in good faith.

The Panoramic Vista Glass Sunroof on my 2015 Ford Edge shows many cracks along the front edge of the glass for no apparent reasons. This was discovered recently on a calm cloudy day. I've attached some pictures at different angles. This roof has the potential to explode if going on a high speed. I'm surprise to discovered that their is no recall issue for this model, but on other Ford Models with Panoramic Glass Sunroof. Please investigate and add this Make/Model to Ford Panoramic Vista Glass Sunfoof Recall List. No vehicle should have a roof top crack for no apparent reason. I'm afraid to even open the soft divider separating the car riders from the glass sunroof.

I called KILLEEN -FORD Servlce department and spoke to a lady to make an appointment for my recall but I was told I don't have an active recall for this vehicle. I called FORD HQ Customer Relationship right away and verified the recall and it is still ACTIVE RECALL. I was unable to make an appt for the recall. Now my questions are; How can I trust Ford in city of Killeen that they fixed previous RECALL ? How do I know that they will fix this current recall? Putting others life in danger no have excuse! all lug nuts have swollen and do not allow me to change my own tires. I was left on the side of the road for FOUR hours because the tire changing items ford placed in my vehicle would not work on the swollen lug nuts. I had the vehicle towed to a tire shop and had to pay to replace all 20 lug nuts.

Engine check has been on for the last month. Prior to that the light was on with an error code P1450 stating I need to replace the Evan vap canister, which was done yet the light after only a day came back on. Now the engine check light is stating P0456 and anytime I go to fill up the car turns off and needs to be jump started.

I took my vehicle into Ford Dealership (Bay Ridge, Brooklyn, NY) for service on recall parts (brake hose and gear shifter bushings). Now, just 3 weeks later I have problems with water pump as engine coolant is steadily leaking out. The Ford Dealership has a bad reputation and they claimed to have done an inspection on my vehicle before I picked it up, and problems with water pump were never mentioned. When my vehicle over heated , while driving, I pulled aside to let my engine cool off. I towed my vehicle to my local mechanic. My vehicle needs a new water pump. This is an expensive repair I cannot afford. Ford should have mentioned this to me during their inspection. I have read about class actions lawsuits against Ford for faulty water pumps on Ford vehicles.

While driving forward at various speeds (usually above 35 mph) the backup camera will engage and the transmission indicator will become blank (from "D") - and Wrench warning light came on during most recent events. It has happened about a dozen times sporadically over the past year and lasts for half minute to several minutes. It happens without warning. Dealer at first told me they could not analyze the problem unless they saw it happen. In Oct 22 when car was in shop for 2 other recall repairs, dealer said they would analyze it, charged me $145 with notation: 'checked for codes and found P0709 in continuous memory. PPT instructs to clear codes and test drive. Test drove 5 miles and found concern did not return at this time. Gave est on tr sensor due to suspected intermittent internal fault." I declined paying for repair because this does not seem to be normal wear and tear and I am doing nothing to cause the problem with how I operate the car.

Car shuts down when driving. Will lose all power and when I pull over and restart, everything is fine until the next episode, which is happening more frequently. No warning lights come on, nothing. Techs cannot find the issue. This is a common problem that is going unresolved on this and other models, and nothing is being done about it. This is a huge safety concern that needs addressed before someone is killed.

Water pump failed. This has been confirmed by an independent service center. Found this issues as the car leaked entire reseviour of coolant. Fortunately this was found while the car was parked. However the issue makes the car immediate undriveable to prevent further damage and has to be towed. Were it not found while parked, the engine would have completely shut down in motion. Approximately a $2,500 repair as it currenlty sits.

my car rolled back in the park position and shows to be in reverse and will no longer turn on to drive and the gears are are stuck in reverse. Vehicle is no longer drivable and the recall is not until December to be fixed. I am out of vehicle and ford will not provide me with a loaner car. I do not know what to do.

The rear liftgate closes unexpectedly. If gives a warning sound which you can hear if you're not in a noisy area and then closes. I've been struck several times but managed to get out of the way. The liftgate sensor has been replaced but the finicky liftgate is still malfunctioning. I am unable to stop it from closing and it won't open again until it has latched. The torque on this could break a bone. I've read many stories of this happening to other Ford owners who've received concussions. This could kill someone.

We have had the Ford Edge for 2 and half years. In that time we have had to replace the oil pan and get it resealed 7 or 8 times. This is because it starts to leak because the seal goes bad. It is a liquid seal and a plastic oil pan. Ford knows this is a known issue but will not recall it.

Wife was on a trip. On April 27 2022 there were no warning lights or messages that she noticed. On arriving at her destination, tried to open rear hatch several times. Also tried button on the dash and attempts to manually pull up on hatch nothing would open it. Crawled into back to retrieve luggage then locked the vehicle for the night. Next morning tried to unlock the passenger door and would not work. Seemed that battery was to low to allow door lock to operate. Called tow service next morning. Service opened door and had to charge battery. Service said hatch not closed sufficient to let entry lights to stay on discharging the battery. At that time, dash button opened the hatch for technician. Ran car enough to charge battery. Wife left for return trip later on April 30 2022, at which time hatch would again not open. This is a safety issue If not able to open hatch to escape the vehicle in emergency or if power is lost. There is also no hatch emergency release for quick escape from vehicle. At this time the problem still exists. It is May 1 2022. I am calling Ford dealer and insurance rep. tomorrow May 2, 2022 to ask about this problem and see if any recalls apply. Please recall because of this issue. Thank you.

In reviewing the origin report; it appears the car was built from scrape and unknown to purchaser. Door may fall off! Inspected by Liberty Ford. Sold at well above lot price. No recall yet. Door may fall off etc.

Wire harness worn through in passenger door. Wire harness retaining clip is located incorrectly and not attached causing the wire harness to rub on the inner door frame brace causing the power window motor to burn out filling the cabin with smoke possible fire danger.

I received the recall letter dated October 2019 and have called several times to get this part replaced. Each time I was told they are awaiting parts. It soon will be year 2022 and this part is still not available. How can they authorize dealers to repair and not provide the parts. This is totally unacceptable for them to keep stating they don't have the parts. This was way before COVID so they can't use that as an excuse. I have had this automobile at least 3 years and it was expensive and I feel like I got ripped off and now own junk.

My panoramic vista sunroof has cracked. The cracks are wavy and everywhere on the rear passenger side. This cracked at 52k miles I also have just replaced the flex plate that cost me $2,275 and 1 month without driving my vehicle. I have 68k miles on this vehicle currently. My transmission fluid was BLACK when they replaced my flexplate as well.

My panoramic sunroof has a stress fracture crack in it. There was no rock that struck it or anything else. My vehicle has not been in any accident. I opened the shade to let the sun shine through and discovered the crack. My husband and I have done research and found that a lot of these have shattered. We understand there is not a recall on these. Is there anything that can be done?

I WENT TO GO TO GROCERY STORE AND NOTICED MY BACK WINDOW HAD SHATTERED, IT APPEARED TO HAVE IMPLODED FROM INSIDE TO OUTSIDE OF CAR AS GLASS WAS STILL IN PLACE, JUST SHATTERED AND WAS BULGING TO OUTSIDE OF VEHICLE WITH GLASS ON DRIVEWAY AND NONE ON INSIDE OF CAR UNTIL I OPENED DOOR AND LIGHTLY SHUT DOOR BACK AND A SMALL CHUNK THEN FELL INSIDE OF CAR, MY CAR HAD BEEN STATIONARY AT TIME IT HAPPENED, I DROVE CAR EARLIER THIS AM TO CHURCH AND HAD NO ISSUES, OUTSIDE TEMPERATURE WAS 38 DEGREES AND WINDOWS WERE FOGGED UP, SO I DID TURN ON FRONT AND BACK DEFROST FOR ABOUT 10 MINUTES UNTIL CLEARED UP, TIME I GOT HOME FROM CHURCH, IT WAS ABOUT 12:45PM, THE OUTSIDE TEMPERATURE WAS AROUND MID 50'S, WINDOW WAS FINE WHEN I PARKED IN DRIVEWAY, THEN ABOUT 5:30PM I WENT TO GET IN VEHICLE AND NOTICED BACK GLASS SHATTERED, I DID LOOK AT IT CLOSELY TO MAKE SURE IT WAS NOT INTENTIONALLY BROKEN, I TOOK SEVERAL PHOTOS TO SHOW WINDOW PUSHING OUTWARDS. THE LIFT GATE WHEN IT'S OPEN WILL RANDOMLY START CLOSING ON ITS OWN. NO BUTTON HAS BEEN PUSHED AT ALL AND IT JUST STARTS CLOSING. IT DOES NOT SENSE THAT ANYONE IS THERE AND IF I DON'T MOVE QUICKLY ENOUGH OUT OF THE WAY IT WOULD CLOSE ON ME. IT HAS DONE THIS MANY TIMES AND MOST RECENTLY THIS MORNING AS I WAS TAKING SOME THINGS OUT OF THE BACK AND AND THE LIFT GATE STARTED CLOSING ON ITS OWN AND HIT ME IN THE HEAD AND I MOVED OUT OF THE WAY AS QUICK AS I COULD. I'M VERY NERVOUS IF ONE TIME I MAY NOT BE ABLE TO GET OUT OF THE WAY IN TIME.

WHILE PARKED IN MY HOME GARAGE, ABOUT 3-5 MIN AFTER TURNING OFF MY VEHICLE, THE BACK WINDOW EXPLODED AND SHATTERED. THE EXPLOSION WAS LOUD ENOUGH TO BE HEARD THROUGHOUT THE INSIDE THE HOUSE WITH THE GARAGE DOOR SHUT. TIME WAS APPROXIMATELY 8:30 PM. PRIOR TO PARKING THE CAR I HAD COMMUTED APPROXIMATELY 7 MILES FROM WORK. I DID USE THE FRONT AND REAR DEFROST FOR APPROXIMATELY 5 MINUTES OF THE COMMUTE, BUT HAD SWITCHED TO NORMAL AUTO TEMPERATURE CONTROL FOR MOST OF THE DRIVE. IT WAS ABOUT 35 DEGREES OUTSIDE.

HELLO I HAVE A 2015 FORD EDGE TITANIUM WITH THE PANORAMA SUNROOF AND IT CRACKED FOR NO APPARENT REASON! THE VEHICLE ONLY HAD 49000 MILES WHEN I PURCHASED IT AND IT CRACKED WITH ME ONLY HAVE PUT A FEW THOUSAND MILES ON IT! I NEVER OPEN THE SUNROOF AND I HAD TOOK IT TO THE FORD DEALERSHIP I BOUGHT IT FROM AND THE EXTENDED WARRANTY WILL NOT COVER IT! I HAD TAKEN IT TO A GLASS COMPANY TO SEE IF THEY COULD FIGURE OUT WHY IT CRACKED AND THEY SEEM NO IMPACT MARKS ANYWHERE. THEY SAID THAT THE GLASS HAD FAILED FROM EITHER HEAT OR A IMPERFECTION IN THE GLASS. SO I GOT ONLINE AND WAS RESEARCHING IF ANYONE ELSE HAS HAD THE PROBLEM AND THERE ARE A LOT OF PEOPLE THAT HAVE HAD THE SAME ISSUE! SOME PEOPLE REPORTED IT HAVING HAPPENED TO THEM MULTIPLE TIMES. ON THE EVENING OF NOVEMBER 9, 2019, I WAS DRIVING HOME FROM MY DAD'S HOUSE. THIS IS A 2 HOUR DRIVE. I WAS HEADING WEST, AND THE SUN WAS BOTHERING ME, SO I MOVED THE PASSENGER SUN VISOR TO BLOCK THE SUN. WHEN DOING SO, THE VISOR ACCIDENTALLY HIT THE BUTTON WHICH THEN OPENED THE ROOF TO REVEAL THE SUNROOF (GLASS). I WAS FINE WITH THIS SINCE IT WAS A NICE DAY. AFTER AROUND 20-30 MINUTES I LOOKED UP AND SAW A COUPLE OF WAVY LINES ON THE SUNROOF GLASS, RUNNING VERTICALLY FROM HOOD-END TO BACK. I THOUGHT POSSIBLY IT WAS TAR FROM THE ROAD WHICH MAYBE HAD FLOWN UP ON MY ROOF. AFTER A WHILE, I BECAME MORE CURIOUS ABOUT THE WAVY LINES, SO LOOKED MORE CLOSELY. THERE WAS IN FACT 3 WAVY LINES (CRACKS) RUNNING VERTICALLY DOWN THE LARGER SECTION OF THE SUNROOF GLASS, WHICH THEN MEET UP WITH A HORIZONTAL WAVY CRACK. I WAS SHOCKED AND DISMAYED. I RARELY OPEN THE SUNROOF, SO HAD NO IDEA THE CRACKS WERE THERE, HOW OR WHEN THEY OCCURRED. MY HUSBAND AND I HAD HAND WASHED THE CAR APPROXIMATELY 1 MONTH AGO, AND DID NOT SEE THESE WAVY CRACKS AT ALL. AFTER RETURNING HOME, I RESEARCHED THE FORD EDGE SUNROOF ON THE INTERNET. IT WAS THERE THAT I FOUND THAT MANY MANY OTHER FORD EDGE OWNERS HAVE EXPERIENCED THESE SAME ODD WAVY CRACK(S) IN THEIR SUNROOFS. OBVIOUSLY THIS IS NO COINCIDENCE. AND THE FACT THAT THESE CRACKS ARE WAVY, MAKES SENSE THAT THEY WERE CAUSED BY STRESS, AND MORE THAN LIKELY ARE BEING CAUSED BY A MANUFACTURER'S DESIGN FLAW. I ASK, ALONG WITH MANY OTHER FORD EDGE OWNERS, FOR YOU TO PLEASE RESEARCH THIS PROBLEM. BY NO FAULT OF MY OWN DID THIS OCCUR. THERE IS NO INDICATION OF HOW THIS CRACKED, CAR WAS STATIONARY AS I AM THE ONLY ONE WHO DRIVES IT. THERE HAS BEEN NO IMPACT TO THE TOP, AND AFTER DOING RESEARCH THIS SEEMS TO BE AN ALL-TO-COMMON OCCURRENCE IN THIS VEHICLE MODEL AND SOME OTHER FORD VEHICLES AS WELL. AFTER OWNING MY CAR FOR ONLY 16 MONTHS, THE PANORAMIC SUNROOF ON MY 2015 FORD EDGE TITANIUM CRACKED COMPLETELY DOWN THE LENGTH AS WELL AS ACROSS THE WIDTH OF THE ENTIRE ROOF. NEITHER THE CAR NOR ROOF HAD NOT BEEN STRUCK BY ANYTHING - IT WAS VERY OBVIOUSLY A STRESS FRACTURES. IT WAS A WARM SUNNY SPRING DAY, AND THE CAR HAD BEEN JUST SITTING IN FRONT OF MY HOUSE. WHEN I DREW BACK THE SUNROOF SHADE, I SAW THE ROOF COMPLETELY CRACKED SIDE TO SIDE AND FRONT TO BACK. I VERY CAREFULLY DROVE TO MY FORD DEALERSHIP. THE SERVICE DEPARTMENT INSISTED THAT A ROCK OR SOMETHING HIT IT AND REFUSED TO DO ANYTHING TO HELP REPLACE IT. I HAD TO HAVE A BODY SHOP REPLACE THE SUNROOF AND MY INSURANCE COMPANY COVERED REMAINING $800 OF THE $1300 COST AFTER I PAID THE $500 DEDUCTIBLE. MY AUTO INSURANCE HAS NOW GONE UP SEVERAL HUNDRED DOLLARS BECAUSE THEY CONSIDERED IT AN "ACCIDENT" WHICH IT WAS NOT! THIS IS OBVIOUSLY A MANUFACTURING DEFECT WHICH VERY WORRIES ME THAT THE REPLACEMENT ROOF WILL BE ALSO LIKELY TO BREAK. I PURCHASED A CERTIFIED USED FORD EDGE 2015 MODEL IN JULY 2016 AT THIS DEALERSHIP. ON 9/10/17 WHILE DRIVING, I HAD A LOSS OF POWER AND SOME OF THE DASHBOARD LIGHT LIT UP. I MADE TO A PARKING LOT, PUT THE CAR IN PARK AND THEN IT WORKED FINE. THEN ON 10/24/17 WHILE DRIVING TO WORK THROUGH AN INTERSECTION, I LOST POWER AGAIN. I COASTED THROUGH AND PULLED OVER. AGAIN, I WAS ABLE TO PUT THE CAR IN PARK AND THEN IT WORKED. I CALLED GILBERT BAUGH AND THEY SAID I NEEDED TO BRING THE CAR IN. I TOOK THE CAR TO THE DEALERSHIP ON 10/28/17. I EXPLAINED WHAT HAD HAPPENED AND ASK THEM TO LOOK AT THE CAR. LATER THE GUY CAME TO ME AND SAID THEY DROVE THE CAR AND DIDN'T HAVE ANY PROBLEMS BUT THEY TRIED TO RESET THE COMPUTER AND THERE WAS A GLITCH AND THEY CAN'T GET THE CAR TO CRANK. THEY SAID I WOULD NEED TO LEAVE THE VEHICLE. I LEFT THE VEHICLE AND THEN THEY CALLED 10/30 AND SAID THAT THE COMPUTER WAS BAD AND THAT I WOULD NEED TO REPLACE IT, AND IT WASN'T COVERED UNDER MY POWERTRAIN WARRANTY. I QUESTIONED THEM ON THIS BECAUSE THE CAR WAS DRIVABLE WHEN I TOOK IT IN. I CALLED 11/2/17 AND THE COMPUTER WAS NOT IN YET. THEY CALLED ON 11/3 AND SAID THEY RECEIVED THE COMPUTER AND PUT IT IN BUT THAT THE CAR WAS DOING THE SAME THING, WOULD NOT CRANK. I CALLED THEM AGAIN A FEW DAYS LATER AND THEY THOUGHT MAYBE THERE WAS A PROBLEM WITH THEIR COMPUTER THEY WERE USING TO PROGRAM AND HAD CONTACTED FORD FOR ASSISTANCE. AGAIN, I WAITED TO LATER BE TOLD THAT NEW SOFTWARE WILL NEED TO BE WRITTEN BY FORD TO SOLVE THIS PROBLEM. IT HAS NOW BEEN 5 WEEKS, MY CAR IS STILL IN THEIR SHOP AND THEY ARE UNABLE TO PROVIDE ME WITH AN ESTIMATED TIME FRAME FOR REPAIR. THEY SAID THEY ARE WAITING FOR FORD. I REQUESTED A BUYBACK THROUGH FORD, IT WAS DENIED DUE TO MY CAR HAVING APPROXIMATELY 55,000 MILES ON IT.

WITHIN THE LAST 6 MONTHS MY REAR GATE HAS CLOSED WITHOUT ANY ACTION BY ME. THE FIRST TIME IT HAPPENED WAS 6 MONTHS AGO. I WAS LOADING IN THE BACK OF MY EDGE AND THE REAR GATE STARTED CLOSING. IT CLOSED ON MY BACK AND WOULD NOT STOP. I NOTICED IT WAS NOT GOING TO STOP SO I DUCKED REAL FAST TO GET OUT OF THE WAY. I HAD A STIFF NECK FOR WEEKS. I WENT TO PICK UP TILE AND THEY WERE LOADING IT IN THE BACK AND I NOTICED THE GATE STARTING TO CLOSE AND I YELLED AT THE GUY TO DUCK AND GET OUT OF THE WAY. MY WIFE WAS PUTTING SOMETHING IN THE BACK AND I YELLED TO HER TO GET OUT OF THE WAY. I HAVE TAKEN THE VEHICLE TO 2 DEALERS AND EACH SAID NO TROUBLE FOUND. THIS COULD BE DANGEROUS IF A LITTLE KID WAS IN THE BACK WHEN IT WAS CLOSING ON ITS OWN SINCE THERE DOES NOT SEEM TO BE ANY SAFETY TO STOP IT. THE VEHICLE WAS OFF EACH TIME WITH THE GATE OPEN EACH TIME.

UNLIKE OTHER FORD VEHICLES, THE EDGE REAR BACKUP SYSTEM ACTIVATES ONLY WHEN THE VEHICLE IS APPROACHING AN OBJECT AT LESS THAN 3 MPH OR AN OBJECT IS APPROACHING THE REAR OF THE VEHICLE DIRECTLY. LATERAL MOVEMENT IS NOT DETECTED. ALSO, STATIONARY OBJECTS DIRECTLY BEHIND THE VEHICLE WITHIN THE VEHICLE,S WARNING ZONE ARE NOT DETECTED UNLESS THE VEHICLE IS MOVING. WITHIN THE FIRST WEEK OF DRIVING THIS VEHICLE, I TRIED TO BACK UP FROM A PARKING SPACE. A PEDESTRIAN WAS WALKING DIRECTLY BEHIND THE RIGHT REAR OF THE VEHICLE. THE VEHICLE STARTED REARWARD AND HIT THE PEDESTRIAN WITHOUT ANY AUDIBLE WARNING. THE PEDESTRIAN CONTINUED TO THE RIGHT SIDE OF THE VEHICLE, GAVE ME A DISGUSTING LOOK AND WALKED AWAY I RETURNED THE VEHICLE TO THE FORD DEALER COMPLAINING ABOUT THE BACKUP SYSTEM AND WE TESTED TWO OTHER NEW EDGE'S. THEY PERFORMED THE SAME WAY. THE OWNER'S MANUAL OUTLINES THE SAME BACKUP PROCEDURE AS I DESCRIBED ABOVE. THE DEALER EXPLAINED THAT THIS SYSTEM WAS NEW AND ONLY ON THE 2015 AND BEYOND EDGE. I THINK THIS SYSTEM IS POORLY DESIGNED COMPARED TO OTHER FORD VEHICLES. I ALSO HAVE A 2016 EXPLORER WITH A REAR BACKUP SYSTEM. AN AUDIBLE WARNING SOUNDS EVERY TIME SOMETHING IS WITHIN THE BACKUP ZONE I.E. STANDING STILL, LATERAL MOVEMENT, APPROACHING, ETC. I WOULD LIKE TO SEE SOME TYPE OF INVESTIGATION INTO THIS MATTER. EXTENSIVE WATER DAMAGE. WATER IS LEAKING INTO THE CAR FROM AN UNKNOWN AREA CAUSING PUDDLING ON THE DRIVER SIDE FLOOR. WATER CAN BE HEARD SWISHING FROM UNDERNEATH THE CAR. A NOTICE WAS SENT TO DEALERS TO FIX THE ISSUE BEFORE THE CARS WERE SOLD, IT APPEARS THAT THEY DID NOT FIX THE ISSUE PRIOR TO SELLING ME THE CAR AND IS NOW REFUSING TO PAY TO FIX IT DUE TO THE FACT THAT I AM OVER THE WARRANTY PERIOD.

FROM THE DATE WE BOUGHT OUR FORD EDGE WE HAVE HAD WHITE PARTICLES, DUST AND DIRT COMING IN FROM ALL OF THE DOOR SEALS AND REAR BACK HATCH. THE WHITE PARTICLES ARE ALL THROUGH THE VEHICLE. THERE IS A BROWN DUST OR DIRT ON THE TOP OF THE PASSENGER SEAT AND REAR PASSENGER SEAT AND ON THE HEAD RESTS FOR BOTH SEATS. THE DIRT AND DUST MAKES ME COUGH A LOT, ( NO ONE HAS EVER SMOKED IN THE CAR ). IT FEELS LIKE WE ARE INSIDE OF A VACUUM CLEANER DISPOSABLE BAG. WE BELIEVE NONE OF THE SEALS ON ANY OF THE DOORS WORK PROPERLY. WHEN WE FIRST GOT THE CAR, A BURNING SMELL WAS COMING FROM THE PASSENGER SIDE OF THE VEHICLE. A NEW EXHAUST SYSTEM WAS PUT ON THE CAR A MONTH AFTER WE BOUGHT IT. THAT PROBLEM WITH THE BURNING SMELL WENT AWAY. WE WERE TOLD BY THE FOURTH DEALERSHIP THAT WE TOOK THE VEHICLE TO THAT ALL THE SEALS ON THE DOORS AND BACK HATCH WOULD HAVE TO BE REPLACED, BUT THAT NEVER CAME ABOUT. SO HERE WE SIT WITH ALL THE WHITE DUST AND DIRT. WE BELIEVE THE CABIN FILTERS ARE NOT WORKING. SO THE DUST AND THE DIRT ARE ALSO COMING IN THROUGH ALL OF THE VENTS IN THE VEHICLE.

ON 10-18-2016 OUR EDGE LOST ALL POWER ON A RESIDENTIAL STREET; SPEED REDUCED TO 2 MPH. WE DROVE HOME; THE VEHICLE WAS TOWED TO DEALERSHIP, & THE ELECTRONIC THROTTLE BODY WAS REPAIRED. ON 11-15-16 THE SAME THING HAPPENED, BUT THIS TIME WE WERE IN DALLAS ON HIGHWAY 289 IN AN INTERIOR LANE AT 55 MPH. WE SLOWED TO 2 MPH, BUT REACHED A PARKING LOT. FORD DEALER THEN REPLACED THE THROTTLE BODY AND MOTOR ASSEMBLY. FORD KNOWS OF THE THROTTLE ISSUE, AND ONLY REPLACES IT AFTER THE SECOND MALFUNCTION. THIS POLICY PUTS ALL EDGE DRIVERS AT RISK AND SHOULD BE CHANGED TO REPLACE THEM IMMEDIATELY.

I FORD EDGE HAS A BUMPING SOUND ON THE PASSAGNER SIDE. IT WAS A BRAND NEW VECHILE. BUT IT MADE THIS NOISE. COME TO FIND OUT AFTER IT BROKE DOWN THE THROTTLE BODY AND POWER TRAIN. I WAS TOLD BY THE DEALER THAT THEIR WAS A RECALL BY FCC SAID THEIR WAS NO RECALL. FCC WOULD NOT BUY THE CAR BACK. THE DEALERSHIP DID "FIX" IT BUT WHAT REALLY IS A FIX ( A PATCH) WHICH MEANS IT WILL BREAK DOWN AGAIN. THE CAR WOULD NOT CRANK OR MAKE ANY NOISES! IT JUST STOPPED IN A PARKING SPOT.

I ENCOUNTERED A SUDDEN AND INEXPLICABLE PROBLEM WITH MY VEHICLE THAT INVOLVED THE LOSS OF THE ABILITY TO ACCELERATE. . . WHILE I WAS IN TRAFFIC ON A BUSY ROAD. THE GEAR SHIFT WAS STILL IN THE DRIVE POSITION WHEN THE INCIDENT OCCURRED REQUIRING ME TO DRIFT INTO A DRIVEWAY/PARKING LOT, NARROWLY AVERTING AN ACCIDENT. THE VEHICLE STALLED WITHOUT WARNING WHILE DRIVING 25 MPH. AFTER RESTARTING, THE VEHICLE RESUMED NORMAL OPERATION. THE FAILURE RECURRED ON A SEPARATE OCCASION. I GOOGLED THIS PROBLEM AND IT SEEMS A LOT OF PEOPLE HAVING THE SAME PROBLEM

4 DAYS AGO I STARTED MY VEHICLE AND PUT IT IN DRIVE AND IT WOULD NOT MOVE. THE ENGINE ICON CAME ON AND THE MESSAGE SAID SOMETHING ABOUT "POWER ACCESSORY ", IT DID NOT LAST LONG ENOUGH FOR ME TO READ IT. THE SAME THING HAPPENED AGAIN TODAY AS I WAS DRIVING IN REVERSE OUT OF A DRIVEWAY THAT WAS ON AN INCLINE. I LOST ALL POWER AND HAD NO CONTROL OF THE VEHICLE. IT WAS VERY SCARY. AGAIN THE POWER ACCESSORY NOTICE FLASHED. BOTH TIMES I HAD TO TURN THE VEHICLE OFF AND RESTART AND IT WAS FINE. I ONLY HAVE 1400 MILES ON THIS VEHICLE AND BOUGHT IT WITH 600 MILES ON IT ABOUT A MONTH AGO. THIS IS CRAZY.

THE VEHICLE WAS PARKED, I OPENED THE SHADE TO THE VISTA ROOF TO FIND THE LARGE PANEL CRACKED IN SEVERAL LOCATIONS FOR NO APPARENT REASON. THERE WAS NO POINT OF IMPACT, THE VEHICLE HAD NOT BEEN IN A HAIL STORM, ETC. WE WERE CONCERNED IT WOULD SHATTER, WE WERE NOT AT HOME AT THE TIME THIS WAS DISCOVERED, WE DROVE DIRECTLY TO THE FORD DEALERSHIP, THEY STATED IT WOULD BE COVERED UNDER THE STANDARD WARRANTY BUT IT WOULD NEED TO BE ORDERED. WE COVERED THE GLASS WITH CARPET MASTIC TO PREVENT SHATTERING UNTIL A REPAIR COULD BE DONE.

HAS BEEN IN THE SHOP FOR 4 DAYS AND NO ONE CAN TELL ME WHAT IS WRONG. BOTH TIMES THE CAR HAS SHUT DOWN, I AM ABLE TO DRIFT OFF TO THE SIDE OF THE ROAD, PUT IT IN PARK AND RESTART IT AND DRIVE AS NORMAL. FORD RELEASED THIS NOTIFICATION TO DEALERSHIPS IN JUNE 2015 THAT THE ISSUE MUST BE CORRECT PRIOR TO SALE. THE SERVICE ISSUE OF 15B21 WAS NOT REPAIRED AND NOR WAS I NOTIFIED BY THE MANUFACTURER OR THE DEALERSHIP WHERE THE VEHICLE WAS PURCHASED. THE BEGINNING STAGES OF THE WATER DAMAGED CAUSED BY THIS ISSUE ARE: REMOTE START FAILING TO OPERATE, RIGHT HEADLIGHT, REMOTE UNLOCK AND POWERED DRIVERS SEATS INTERMITTENTLY WORKING, SMELL OF MILDEW AND SOAKED FLOOR CARPETS, ALSO FROST APPEARING INSIDE EVERY WINDOW OF THE VEHICLE.

ON JANUARY 4, 2016 THE VEHICLE ENTERED A SAFE MODE IN THE MIDDLE OF TRAFFIC. WITHOUT NOTICE, WHILE IN MOTION AND IN THE MIDDLE OF TRAFFIC, THE VEHICLE SHUT DOWN; DEPLOYED THE EMERGENCY BRAKES; AND ATTEMPTED TO DIAL 911. IT NEARLY CAUSED AN ACCIDENT IN THE MIDDLE OF A BUSY INTERSECTION. WE PROMPTLY TOOK THE VEHICLE TO THE DEALERSHIP, WHERE THEY SAID THE ISSUE COULD NOT BE REPLICATED. THE REGIONAL REPRESENTATIVE AT FORD CUSTOMER SERVICE STATED THAT IF THE ISSUE COULD NOT BE REPLICATED FORD WOULD NOT BE ABLE TO DO ANYTHING ELSE. THE VEHICLE IS BRAND NEW, WITH AROUND 3000 MILES. WE ARE CONCERNED ABOUT THE VEHICLE AND FORD'S UNWILLINGNESS TO ADDRESS THE ISSUE.

THE 2015 FORD EDGE (V6, AWD) I HAVE, HAS A MOTION-SENSORED TAILGATE THAT OPENS AND CLOSES WITH THE WAVE OF YOUR FOOT UNDERNEATH THE REAR BUMPER. WHILE LOADING GROCERIES AND LEANING INTO VEHICLE, THE TAILGATE HAS RANDOMLY STARTED TO CLOSE ON ME. THE FIRST TIME IT HIT ME IN THE HEAD AND CONTINUED TO CLOSE, EVEN THOUGH MY BODY WAS STILL "LEANING INSIDE" THE TRUNK AREA. THERE IS NOT A SENSOR TO DETECT THAT A PERSON IS STILL THERE AND CONTINUED TO CLOSE ON ME. I HAD TO QUICKLY DODGE OUT OF THE WAY TO AVOID THE TAILGATE COMING DOWN ON ME. THIS HAS HAPPENED TWICE TO ME AND ONCE TO MY HUSBAND. EVERY OCCURENCE INVOLVED LOADING GROCERIES. I HAVE REPORTED THIS TO THE DEALERSHIP WHERE I BOUGHT THE VEHICLE AND HAVE AN APPOINTMENT TO TAKE IT IN FOR THEM TO INSPECT. I TOLD THE SERVICE MANAGER THAT THIS IS A REAL SAFETY ISSUE AS IT COULD DEFINITELY HURT A CHILD AND/OR ADULT WHEN IT OCCURS.

I JUST LOOKED UP SIMILAR COMPLAINTS ABOUT THE THROTTLE BODY AND FORD. THIS NEEDS AN INVESTIGATION AND RECALL AS I SEE IT.

THE CAR LEAKS WATER WHEN IT RAINS. THERE WERE PUDDLES OF WATER ON THE FLOOR... THE COMPLETE CRUMPLE ZONE WAS FILLED WITH WATER PUSHING UP THROUGH THE PADDING AND CARPET. FORD FAILED TO PUT A NECESSARY SEAL BETWEEN THE DOOR AND THE FRONT FENDER. IN ADDITION TO THE INTERIOR DAMAGES TO THE CAR, I AM WORRIED OF THE STRUCTURE INTEGRITY OF THE CRUMPLE ZONE AND FRAME CAUSED BY WATER SITTING IN THE CAR FOR MONTHS.

RIGHT REAR CHILD LOCK FAILED. MY 3 YEAR OLD WAS ABLE TO OPEN THE DOOR AND ONCE HE OPENED IT THE DOOR BECAME JAMMED AND WOULD NO LONGER CLOSE. ROADSIDE ASSISTANCE WAS CALLED. VERY UPSET ABOUT INCIDENT BECAUSE IF MY SPEED WOULD HAVE BEEN FASTER AND AN OLDER CHILD WOULD HAVE OPENED IT THERE COULD HAVE BEEN INJURIES.
